may the heavenly father aide those who survived, welcome the ones who left this earth, and show mercy on those who have not been touched by tragedy. my love and best feelings to all.
i am presently in colombia, where similar tragedies have affected the people who live near bodies of water. to them also go my feelings.
After this tragedy, I can't help wondering what the good people of the south did to incur the wrath of....(Fill in the blank with your favorite imaginary being).
After all, the Falwells and Robertsons and their ilk condemned New Orleans for causing Katrina with their decadent behavior.
More like was has man done to the earth to cause such terrible storms? Please don't let me hear from the Koch puppets about the falicies of global warming.
God bless the good people of Alabama, the nicest people this yankee from Mass. has ever had the privilege of living amongst.
These photos are devastating...all I can say is my heart goes out to the survivors and I am praying for a return to normal life for them as soon as possible.
Crazy- if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
DH- Earth is a powerful, intense system that it is foolish to think man could alter so drastically in a mere 150 years of industrialized presence. Al Gore's global warming is an egocentric money grab and its shameful to pull it out here. Ask any climate scientist; climate change is nothing new, nor are drastic shifts in Earth's localized weather patterns. These storms have been occurring since the beginning of Earth's time, and will long after we are gone. If you are in any doubt, look at Venus, or Jupiter where storms much more intense and devastating than this exist for literally hundreds of years.
jdg- You're probably referencing the 6000 years since earth was created, right? I personally don't like the hypocrisy of using religion to judge some but when it reflects back on them they act offended. The south is full of wonderful people who I'm more than willing to help out in there time of trouble but there are also a few who would like to put a fire hose to the White House to clean out that "uppity .....".
When it comes to your climate statement I find it amusing when the earth's climate history is used to justify negating the effects of additional CO2 in the atmosphere. "There were higher levels in the past" or "the seas were higher previously with no ill effect". Your type leaves out a large qualifier. THERE WERE NO PEOPLE AROUND THEN! The science taught in the sunday sermons is breathtaking! Also, remember do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Your disparaging remark about Mr. Gore is well noted.
Crazy in the north. Normally people would fill in hte blank as the wrath of God but i strongly believe it is the wrath of the Devil. God wold not instill such tragedy on us. My heart breaks as I read and watch the news to everyone who is affected by this major storm. Words cannot say enough My prayers are with them
my heart goes out to everyone that was affected by the violent storms.
Crazy in the North, Your name says it all is all i have to say... why argue and act as if the South did something to deserve such a tragedy as this... Just be thankful that you weren't the one in the devestation, picking up what was left of your home or loved one... or thankful that you weren't the one hearing of a deadly tornado that was about to pass just a couple of miles amidst you. I live not even 6 or 7 miles from where this happened so please be a little more caring... Or when a natural Disaster happens to you, let us know what you did to deserve it :)
I live in Hueytown,Al. We were lucky the tornado missed our house by less than 1/4 mile we had airborn debris land in our yard from at lest 60 miles away, towns around us are total losses Prayer protected us! This storm carried cars up to at least 60 miles. The churches and ham radio operators are doing a heroic job. 73 KG4NZW JESUS IS LORD!
