Waves crash onto Nags Head

NBC station WAVY-TV of Portsmouth, Va., reports from Nags Head, N.C., as the first big winds and waves begin crashing ashore.

Actually I wouldn't call it a wave, but more like a shore breaking wave, presently....... At the moment there is no swell producing a "real wave." Just my opinion. But the surfer was actually surfing on a wave, and more camrea people should focus on things of that nature, than a one foot knee size wave..... I heard that the broadcast was premature, but very boring to post on the internet.

Actually, even though the reporting is premature, I would not title it Wves Crashing into Nags Head, what I see is so-so reporting, of anckle to knee slappers on the shre, commenly called shore break, the surfer was actually surfing waves, and in cases like this, I think reporters should do some research on waves, ground swells and wind swells, and educate themselves with by just reviewing, the web site Magicseaweed, there is an incredible picture of someone surfing a wave in Tahiti, death defying, and that is an example of a wave crashing over a reef, even though I stand corrected but the shore break, would have been mor interesting to watch if the reporting waited until some swell ran over the outer sand bars....... A lot of hype over the internet that to me is useless news, and has wasted my time watching thid clip, time I will never recover. To the reporter please do not take this personally, who creates the hyped up internet titles, seems like a questional position.
