Boy shoots mom's attacker with BB gun

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A 10-year-old boy with a BB gun may have saved his mother’s life after she was attacked by a man renting a room at their home Tuesday.

Bellingham Police say they were called to the home in the Roosevelt neighborhood around 7 a.m.

The homeowner, 46, told police that the 45-year-old man renting from her came home, apparently intoxicated and angry because his room was in disarray.

The renter allegedly kicked in the bedroom door, attacked the woman and started choking her.

Police say the commotion woke up the woman’s 10-year-old son. He came to his mother’s defense, hitting the suspect with a board. The boy then ran away, with the suspect chasing him.

The suspect ended up being locked outside the home while searching for the boy, who was still inside. When the woman tried closing a window, the man allegedly grabbed her arm and wouldn’t let go.

That’s when the boy came in with a pump action BB rifle. The suspect allegedly threatened to kill the mother and son, prompting the boy to shoot the suspect four times in the face.

The woman and son ran to a neighbor’s home and called 911.

The suspect was taken to the emergency room and later arrested for assault and harassment.

How many years has this been going on. How many more accusations are going to appear. This guy should have been caught a long time ago. But when there are no complaints there is no way of knowing. It is sickening and shows how low our society has fallen. I can't understand why he didn't have to post bail. Any other man would have with what the authorities had already been made aware of it. Justice is supposed to represent the same sentence for the same crime. His glorified fame as a coach makes him no better that any other man. That is part of the trouble with our justice department. Name or profession should have no say in matters such as these. Nor any thing else. They may as well wait for his trial, with what is coming every few days, how many more is headed that way. I have only loathing for him and the ones who knew about it, I have no pity for. To many lives have been huurt. They are the important ones. And now we all cry for justice.

I'm sure the liberal nanny state bureaucrat regulators want to ban kids from having BB guns too.

This is just another case of guns saving lives, and personal protection trumping the police in a critical situation.

Remember... when seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

My wish is that this young man continues to learn how to handle weapons and dies of old age never having to use them again. I also hope he sleeps at night without bad men invading his dreams. Valiance is sometimes thrust into a situation, but comes at a price. May this defining moment be the least of his accomplishments in life.
