Cops: Charlie Sheen's ex-wife arrested for assault, drugs

Charlie Sheen's ex-wife, Brooke Mueller, was arrested in Aspen, Colorado, Saturday on suspicion of third-degree assault and cocaine possession with intent to distribute, according to police.

Brooke Mueller, the ex-wife of actor Charlie Sheen, was arrested in Aspen early Saturday and charged with assaulting a woman and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. NBC's George Lewis reports.

Authorities said officers arrested Mueller at a nightclub after a woman reported being assaulted by her.

Mueller posted $11,000 bond and was released from custody. She was scheduled in court Dec. 19.

Aspen police spokeswoman Blair Weyer says additional details are not immediately available.

Her attorney, Yale Galanter, had no comment.

Sheen and Mueller divorced earlier this year, citing Christmas Day 2009 as the day of their breakup.

Charlie Sheen was arrested in Aspen on that day on suspicion of assaulting Mueller.

He completed his probation in that case last November.

"Who is the bigger druggie him or her ????"

It seems they're both violent junkies. I wonder who will get custody of their children now. The state?

lynseypug,

"Where are the children?"

I don't follow celebrity news very closely, but last I heard Charlie's ex-wife had gotten custody of the children because of his drug abuse, but after this incident I don't know if she will retain custody or not.

Sheen and Mueller are both unfit to be parents in my estimation. It's sad for those kids that their parents are both so selfish and immature. I hope there is someone in the lives of those little boys who puts them first.

What kills me is that someone in her life (probably her mom) is going to say that, "Brooke is a phenomenal mother and her kids always come first, she takes full responsility for her actions blah, blah, blah."

Um, no she's not and apparently they don't and no she doesn't.

She is a crackhead who needs to be treated for her addiction. Any other crackhead would have lost her kids by now. The first step is a reality check and this lady hasn't gotten one yet. She still gets $60,000 a month for child support: NOT A REALITY CHECK.

Her ridiculous amount of child support she receives aids in her drug habit. The courts need to review this.

Not only review the child support, but how about the drug environment the kids are living in? Of course if the law took all kids whose parents were on drugs, the states would run out of room for orphanages. Someone earlier asked if the kids were going to the state; I would say they would probably go to one of the grandparents like Martin Sheen. I believe he would and could provide a good environment for them. I have never heard anything bad about him.

Marie,

"Someone earlier asked if the kids were going to the state; I would say they would probably go to one of the grandparents like Martin Sheen. I believe he would and could provide a good environment for them. I have never heard anything bad about him."

I was the one who suggested the state might take them. I personally agree that Martin Sheen would be a better alternative if he wants them. He's the one who has been trying to get his son, Charlie, off drugs. I'm not in favor of the state taking people's children so quickly as they so often do. The state does not provide a very loving environment for children either.

Mickey, Martin Sheen paid for prostitutes for his sons when they were teenagers... he might not be the best choice either. Maybe all this stupidity stemmed from Martin himself.

Sounds to me like Sheen may have been set up, His Wife now has shown that SHE could have been the one at fault and not Sheen. but of course the majority of people in this country dont believe that men can be assaulted or abused by a woman, and its ALWAYS the Mans Fault no matter HOW many knives with her fingerprints on them are sticking out of his back.

Quinn687 you prove my point perfectly.

unless her behavior is a direct threat to the welfare of the kids..ie. she acted violent and had drugs with the kids present, then most likely is doesn't set grounds for her to have the kids taken from her custody, could be grounds for child welfare to look into the living conditions of the kids, but doubt it will have any effect. that said, she might be hot, but man is she a nitwit.

Mark, you need to detox. The cocaine has fried your brain. Cops enforce the law. If you don't like the law, work to change it. That is what I do. The war on drugs is a waste of money, and an abuse of people, as well as a total failure. I have testified to that before legislative committees. I am a retired police officer, and the biggest thorn in our sides is enforcing these unenforceable drug laws. Prohibition doesn't work. I never worked narcotics, because I never believed in the "war on drugs," but also because it is true that narcotics does have a tendency to attract bullies. Not all of them, but enough to make it unpleasant. And the money involved is an inducement to corruption. As far as working at McDonald's, that is a funny and stupid statement. Most police officers end up getting college degrees. I personally graduated Magna Cum Laude in 3 years.

No kidding! Only a 12 year old with think a cop would accept an invitation to "chat" outside "his turf". Cops are cowards. No gun, no partner, no courage. They are corrupt little turds working for an equally corrupt system. Basically, the American justice system is the modern version of the Roman circus.

My question is... do cops ever travel abroad? I think not. They would not dare.

Reading Mark's pointless rants about the police, and the criminal justice system here in America, one wonders, to what country would Mark point as a paragon for just law enforcement?

Would it be in Western Europe or Japan? Wherever one goes there are always complaints about law enforcement.

Maybe it was her all along and "society" sometimes sides with the weaker woman and the man suffers - for nothing. Maybe with this, Charlie will be partially vindicated - at least in the eyes of some people.

If you go so far as to hit your spouse, it's your fault, no matter the reason. Charlie's been going downhill for a long f'ing time. I don't disagree that she sounds like a wackjob as well, but I'm sure nobody is saying that maybe Charlie's arrest was wrong-he keeps proving that he needs a serious wake-up call and a drying out period every few months. I wonder if Martin will end of with custody of the kids-maybe he can keep them on the straight and narrow.
