Evangelist Billy Graham released from hospital

MONTREAT, N.C. -- Evangelist Billy Graham was released from a North Carolina hospital after a bout with pneumonia, a hospital spokeswoman said on Tuesday.

Graham, 93, returned to his home in Montreat, N.C., after a six-day stay in the hospital.

"I am grateful for the many thoughts and prayers expressed by individuals across the country and around the world during my stay at Mission Hospital," Graham said in a statement.

Graham has suffered from several ailments in recent years. He was admitted to the hospital last Wednesday night after suffering from congestion, a cough and a slight fever that was later diagnosed as pneumonia.

I was hoping they'd be releasing him to the morgue... Turns out this sanctimonious lowlife will sharing the air with the rest of us for a while longer.

In a world where scum like this thrives, it's no mistake people don't believe in god.

Esparanza,

Please, some of your comments are ok, but this one is very hurtful and full of venom. Has this person wronged you in some other life. Reverend Graham has held to a pretty high moral level for 99.9% of his life. I would gladly challenge anyone that could put forth someone else of such high moral character.

Esperanza--you appear to have Billy Graham mixed up with someone else. Rev. Graham has never had a financial scandal or sex scandal, and he has prayed with all the presidents from Truman to Obama. It took him a while to openly support the civil rights movement, but when he finally did, he put himself in a lot of danger to do so.

The fellow is in his 90s, and I'm sure he's got a blind spot or two, but he has never been craven or unkind to anyone, really. We aren't talking about Pat Robertson, you know--Rev. Graham, though I don't agree with everything he says, is a fine gentleman and does not deserve anyone's vitriol.

People as human they are, only see, hear and understand that they want to, regardless of facts, religion or political affiliation. Racists can only understand other racists, because racism is what glues their interests together and they are called: Tea partiers, republicans and to some extent some democrats, but to be fair, even the police, the clergy-holy Moses-are not exempt of these plagues, including greed as the rest of humans are. Of course, talking about religion and specifically about Christianity, I have to agree with Esperanza, number one above.

In ancient Rome and when the disciples had to travel to Rome from Jerusalem and other places and coming from different walks of life, they wonder how they could tell a Christian from a pagan and their reply was: By their actions you will know them and that is how they knew or distinguish one another.

This also applies to Billy Graham. He along with all other mercenaries of religion give Chritianity, true Christianity a bad name or even worse, a worse name. When you proclaim to belong to an organization, laic or religious or public or private, it's expected that you will somehow follow those organizations tenets, rules, regulations, the law and here is where I don't understand those hypocrites to the nth degree. Christ didn't have a place to call His own, yet these merchants of Christianity live in mansions, have Rolls Royces, TV networks, stations that bring millions for them to live in the lap of luxury. Christ preached to love thy enemies and to turn the other cheek and these super hypocrites not only don't turn the other cheek, but call for the extermination of other human beings and keep quiet, tombly quiet when their government that proclaims to be "Christian" tortures other human beings for defending their natural resources from those greedy "Christians", invades other nations, because they say so or the retard pervert says: God told me so, kill a million plus innocent civlians and nobody dares, with one exception: Reverend Jeremiah Wright. Maybe BG is just another tea partier at heart, where all that it counts is to become a millionaire or possibly a billioniare, ignoring obviously and how convenient what Christ said of those with millions, billions, the rich: It's easier for a camel to pass through the eyelet of a needle than a rich person getting to the kingdom of heaven. I don't know who they think they are fooling, because, if they truly believe in God, which I doubt it very much, they wouldn't behave in such greedy, evil ways. It's more, Christ also damned those who are motive of scandal, referring to children, but I'm sure that it also applies to other believers: "And whosoever shall scandalize one of these little ones that believe in me; it were better for him that a millstone were hanged around his neck, and he were cast into the sea." I'm scandalized when I see "pastors" preaching the word of God and then behaving like wolfs in sheep's clothing. In other words, do as I say, not as I do.

Now as been a racist. Anybody who is for North Carolina, or for that matter, both Carolinas are racist to the nth degree, ergo, Billy Graham is one and to add salt to injury he comes dressed as "Christian." Maybe his upbringing had a lot to do with his racism, but when supposedly embraced Christ, he should have disposed or left it at the door, or better yet, he should have put it in exile forever. He was caught in tape making derogatory comments about the Jews, but in those times, although they owned this nation, at least they didn't have the choke hold now they have. Or could be that the monkey knows which tree to climb and the Jews saw BG as a powerful enemy and instead of calling for his exile from Christianity, they, a la Obama, decided to retreat waiting for a better and easier enemy to attack.

You would expect a banker to worship money as his god, but pastors that should imitate God? That to me is scandalous, if ever there is, was the meaning of the word scandal.

If a future pastor believes in Christ, you would expect that pastor, person to imitate Christ, not Bacchus, not follow animal instincts or worse and what about their created dynasties which will perpetuated a life of luxury instead of sacrifice. We are a nation of contradictions. The nation, at least for tea partiers, republicans, is a "CHristian" nation, yet, as with the "Christian" pastors, behaves like the anti-thesis of Christianity and the pastors, a la Billy Graham, behave like the true anti-christs they are. Shame, shame on this commercialization of Christianity. I better don't see BG in heaven when I get there. He and his comrades shouldn't be there.

      Reply#11 - Tue Dec 6, 2011 7:16 PM EST

Don't worry; you probably won't get to heaven. BG won't be looking for you there, either.

You may be talking about many tele-evangelists, but not BG. His track record is pretty sterling. Check it out for yourself.

And speaking of money, should we presume that if you come into a wad of cash that you worship money and are evil? I don't know about the status of your "animal instincts"; but, you certainly have not exhibited any higher order thinking in your rambling post. BG is just a human being, and has always been humble enough to admit that before the world. Your thoughts are down there somewhere with the sub-human primates, still in the primordial slime. But, hey, really, you and Esperanza seem to have in common a lot of just plain old hatefulness. No wonder you agree with her nasty post. Maybe you two should start your own discussion site, instead of polluting this one.

Dear Rev. Graham, I'm so glad that God has chosen to heal you and let you continue in whatever He has for you to do in your life. You have impacted the world to help many of us to examine our relationship with Jesus. Thank you for that. I know you are not God and ,as the rest of us humans, are flawed. But from what I have observed about your life, you have done a good job in serving the Lord to the best of your ability.

          #11.6 - Wed Dec 7, 2011 1:17 AM EST

Oh, how I love it when I hit a raw nerve. Nobody refers to my comments, because how can you disporve the truth? When someone says I'm not a racist, well that implies a defensive posture and the most publicized was that of Nixon saying: I'm not a crook, although and to be fair, compare to our now politicians, he could give Mother Teresa a run for her money.

Another member of the crowd above told me that Billy Graham was not a millionaire and that made laugh so hard, that I almost pee, but I made it to the bathroom. This is what I found out, supposedly, he makes 117,000.00 a year, so according to that member of the above crowd, he wasn't a millionaire, but since you can't expect the truth from peple who can't handle the truth, I had to show that blind, deaf and idiot that according to the same sources, his organization makes-drums, please-17 millions a year. Hey not bad for a "Christian" that is supposed to imitate Christ, not Bacchus. I wonder how many millions Christ left to His heirs when He died.

Now, about that other that claims: I'm from NC but I'm not a racist, that sounds as phony as a three dollar bill. It's like a Nazi saying: I'm not a war criminal, I was just follopwing orders and the rest as they say is history. Of course there are not such things in life as absolutes, but that NC is one of the bastions of racism is not in doubt, except of course in those instances, a la Nixon and a la Peter, they deny the obvious for obvious reasons. That said, do I mean that all NC are racist? No, but if I were given those odds to win the lottery, I would say: Hell yes and I would be a billionaire now. Let me tell you what I found out about NC. They voted democrat all the time, except from 1964 til now. And why you may ask?

Because in 1964, the democrats were bent on passing the Civil Rights act and since then, they flocked to the last bastion of racism: Tea partiers, republicans. The only exception was the last presidencial elections that Obama, AKA Bush the retard pervert the III, won by 14,000 votes. Nothing to write home about it. But look what happened to him since then. They "voted" for him, so they could blame the second great depression on him, and try to erased that black mark from that retard pervert from Texas. They suddenly didn't accept: All men are created equal, it was just a smoke screen as tea partiers do when that black illegal copies one of their promises and then the promise is AWOL.

In the future, when you make comments, don't attack the messenger, because that implies that you are just another zombie, either of religion or politics and that is not Christian, nor democratic, or for that other mental midget who doesn't understand the meaning of democracy, a republic. I was working at a big company and the subject of Billy Graham came about and one guy said: Billy Graham is not doing good, he is doing great. And I still hear the roar from all the other workers. You can have your own opinion, but not your own facts.

This guy has made millions off of people who "believe" that he is going to save their lives. just another money sucker who has lived off off the lie. Why do people still believe in the myth. If there was a god, why would he let his minions kill so many people when, supposedly there is a commandment that says " do not kill"? How do christians or muslims justify that? More people have been killed for religion that any war waged by any government.

Has anyone who has posted here ACTUALLY read or listened to any of Billy Graham's works? The gentleman is 93 years old, and in all of that time has ministered to millions speaking the word of God in a truly ecumenical manner. In an age where many so-called religious "speakers of the truth" fall from grace, Mr. Graham has maintained an incredible adherence to the fundamental tenets of Christianity. He is truly a man to admire not mock. Oh, and before you ask, no, I'm not a Protestant nor a Fundamentalist...just someone who recognises greatness when he sees it.
