I've worked at VT for a little over 3 years now, and I can say the sadness when something like this happens is always quick to rise and sometimes the anger follows. There's been enough pain and suffering in this community, the students are great and the cops are wonderful people who are always kind and patient... but to be murdered for a traffic stop? Who ever did this will be found and I can hope they either rot in jail or fry for it, personally I prefer the latter. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of those affected by this lunatic, as for myself I will be trying to make sure the cop murdered wasn't a friend of mine.

Guns don't kill? Neither does cocaine, heroin, dynamite, grenades, etc, but we outlaw them, don't we. It is all a matter of risk. When you have tens of thousands of misfits, thugs, and the paranoid and mix in millions of uncontrolled guns you will have just what we have--thrity people relieved of their RIGHT TO LIFE every day of the year.

Too bad someone didn't have a gun to stop this crazy creep. Oh yeah, THE COP HAD A GUN. So now none of you gun fanatics has to say, "too bad someone didn't have a gun." Our sympathies to the officer's family and to the people on campus.
