Cops: Woman spent six hours in a Wal-Mart making meth

Tulsa County Jail

Alisha Greta Halfmoon is accused of making meth inside an Oklahoma Wal-Mart.

TULSA – Tulsa police arrested a 45-year-old woman they said mixed chemicals together to make methamphetamine inside a Wal-Mart store.

“She didn’t have the money to make the purchases of the chemicals that were needed so she was taking what was needed in the bottle,” Tulsa Police Officer David Shelby told FOX23.com.

Police said the suspect, Elizabeth Alisha Greta Halfmoon, had been in the store since noon on Thursday, taking chemicals from bottles and mixing them in order to make meth. She had been in the store for six hours, according to police.

Security officials called police once they spotted Halfmoon acting suspiciously.

Shelby said it was the first time he had seen anyone actually attempt to mix and make the drug in a store.

“When firefighters were on the scene she made statements to them that is what she was doing, she was attempting to obtain these chemicals and was in the process of trying to manufacture meth. However, she said she was not very good at it,” Shelby told the TV station.

One police officer received minor injuries when the chemicals in the bottle burned his hand. Nobody else was injured.

Shoppers expressed shock and outrage at the incident.

“Something could have happened, something could have blown up in there,” shopper Jonathan Tary told a television reporter.

The woman obviously couldn't afford the brand name of methamphetamine so she decided to go to Wal-Mart to make the "Great Value" brand.

What I find interesting is how all of these comment threads turn into bashfests on folks who shop at WalMart. I mean isn't it members of the 99% who shop there?

Walmart is indicative of the 'race to the bottom' that the USA has engaged in since the early '80s... Whatever happened to us? Continuously lower prices for crappy goods made by slave labor primarily in China. How about Levi's made in the USA that used to last 10 years? How about products that were non-toxic, made in the USA and supported our fellow Americans. Wal-Mart is a scourage and should be forced to fly a red-communist totalitarian state fused with frankenstein capitalism Chinese flag... A woman 'cooking' meth in a Wal-Mart is illustrative and indicative of how far we have fallen. Never vote GOP and never shop Wal-Mart.

So why was she only suspicious after 6 hours and not say...4 or 3? Definitely resourceful, with problem solving skills....

Wow!! The nastiness displayed on these comment pages are enlightening!! The story was about a sick individual who chose to try a dumb, but ballsy crime. One I hope puts her in jail for a really long time! Most of you has made this a running diatribe (rant) about the store she chose to do it in!!

No exactly the best use of space...or brain cells!!

Must be southerners like me. You know, igrunt. Anyway, the woman is more than sick. I would say terribly desperate to feed her addiction. Resourceful? Most addicts are. They just spiral down and their solutions become less creative, more base, simple. It's a shame what people do to themselves.

She certainly fits the part. She needs to see if she can get herself onto that anti Meth ad where all the women turn from pretty ladies into foaming at the mouth toothless Meth ho's in a frame by frame time lapse video, or this web page, which does accomplish almost the same thing.

Couldn't find the 'ad' so this'll do...

Kids now I’ll be honest here there have been times I have come across an opened cookie jar in the store and unable to resist the choc chip delicacies (yes I can never get enough of the sweet stuff) I ever so casually open the lid and start munching one or two before smugly tightening the lid and continuing my way. Choc chip cookies, meth? Who can judge? When the urge comes, one is resigned to give into it…

Wow. What a dumb ass bitch! This is exactly why Marijuana should be legalized and the money that's wasted combating a harmless drug should be used to combat harsher drugs like Meth. You have NEVER heard of a person trying to grow weed inside of a god damn department store. And how did this woman manage to do this @!$%# for four hours before someone finally called the police and did something about it?

Wow. 6 hours and no store employees know what is going on. Someone could just as easily have walked out with several million dollars in merchandise and no one would have noticed. Good job Garbagemart.

Several million dollars worth? That would take about 2000 trips in and out of the store and a few semis.

Coffee is more likely. It has more in common with meth, than pot does.

Finally !!! Wal-Mart can finally claim to have at least one product in their store made in America by Americans! Everything else is from overseas -- even the "redneck" stuff like camo hunting clothes, etc. A damn shame.

making meth in a plastic bottle is possible, It's called shake n bake. Very dangerous and a cheap quick way of getting your fix. Most of these meth heads end up on SSDI for brain damage, in and out of rehab and mental hospitals the rest of their life.
