A year to remember, or not?

2009 and this President will go down as the start of the demise of the USA. We have turned a corner where morality, personal responsibility and earned income will be the exception. Liberal ideology is without morals and evil in its profession of helping people. It is an ideology of control and elitism. I am truly sorry that I did not do more to stop them. My grandchildren will have to endure this terrible tragedy. They will never know what is is like to live in a country of such exceptionalism, it is forever lost.

The real Evil is not helping people if you happen to be more fortunate, and cast stones at people looking for the freedom contained in the Constitution.

It's been an awful year. I work for a state agency that provides resources to job seekers. I haven't seen so much hopelessness and despair at any other point of my career. I truly feel for many of our clients because I don't have much hope to offer them.

I had hopes that the Pres would deliver of his campaign promises, keeping in mind that he made the promises in 2008 being fully aware (or should have been fully aware) of the condition of the country. But he turned out to be like most other politicians - once he has what he needs from us (our vote), he went to Washington and forgot about us small people in the middle class, particularly us Black Americans who are out of work at a ridiculous percentage.

2012 doesn't look much better in the area of employment, but we need to make sure our voices and votes carry the day in November. Not sure whom I'm supporting yet, but it's clear that Obama is not the right man for the job. I didn't vote for him in 2012, but I was really hoping he would prove me wrong.

Not an option for most of us, Kathryn. But I'm happy to hear that Oklahomans are doing OK. (No pun intended.)

I could not stand to read anymore of the poison spewed out on here.

        1. obama is the worse so called president in the history of the United States.

        2. there is no one running that is much better with either party.

        3. actually teabaggers were named after the british tea party that was trying to stop taxes! get real people.

        4. unless we as Americans can unite and get someone in office that will work for the American People then the world might as well end because communist china will be taking over the rest of the U.S. and it won't matter what we think we will be told what we can and can not do and can and can not think!

        5. There is only 1 hope we have and that is to find someone that loves America the way she should be loved and respected. We as Americans need to stand up and say ENOUGH!!!! Everyone in our government needs to be removed without residual pay and no compensation as they have NOT done the job they are being paid for handsomely I might add. no retirement and nothing else. Then we as Americans should place people in office that know what it is like to live hand to mouth. Maybe then we would have a country that we could stand and be proud of.

There is no hope for us anymore without drastic steps being taken. Wake up all you who claim to be American. and stand tall like our fore fathers and fight for our rights to be free!!!!!

Since the beginning of the Bush depression, things have been tough. I DID get a couple part-time jobs, this year, but my income is half of what is was in the 1990's. This last DECADE has been a failure! On a lighter note, my family is healthy and together, so not all is bad.

The economy and unemployment have been the two hardest hitting issues of the last three years and we have watched the President of this great nation stumble and fumble all over the middle-class and accomplish nothing while pointing his finger at his predecessor and implementing Nancy Pelosi's agenda. He promised that unemployment would not exceed 8% and it has not been under 8% since he was elected. I must agree with other posters in that President Obama will go down in history as the most foolish, inept, and ultimately harmful President in the history of this country.

And you think McCain would have done better? No one, and I mean no one who would be president after Bush would have done anything better than President Obama. Not saying he is the greatest, but McCain couldn't have gotten us out of this mess either and everyone would be calling him the worst president of the US instead of President Obama. Think about it.

Remember folks, MSNBC and NBC and their affiliates are going to do EVERYTHING in their power to get Barry re-elected. They have a vested interest in seeing him win. They want a socialist environment.

Look this up: a large number of NBC employees are married to/ in a relationship with people in the DNC and Barry's regime.

Mark my word on this everyone...... When the GOP wins the presidency next year, the media will do everything they can to start riots around the country. They will then blame the GOP for their policies. This is how they play the game. Gloves off, nothing is out of bounds, we hate you and we will do everything in our power to further advance our Marxist ideas.

Anyone from NBC reading this: Go Fuc....k your self, you will lose next year.

                  NBC is the 1%.

Regardless of party affliation or political beliefs, anyone that pays more taxes and fees to the federal government than they receive, when asked if they believe government wastes money the answer would be absolutely. The only difference may be where they believe the waste is at. Anyone that's worked in or around government finance and has any grasp of money management is fully aware of the waste and duplication of expenditures. I don't understand why people think the government needs to grow bigger and bigger and have a larger and larger budget. If you think the Republicans or Democrats are more wasteful than the other, why in the world would you want to give them even more power and more of your money??? Are you that naive to believe "your party" is going to come to power and remain there for any length of time?

Us "tea-baggers" want a smaller and less intrusive government for a reason. The less they take from us the less power they have over our lives. We want EVERYONE to pay as little in taxes and in our lives as little as possible as needed to sustain the freedoms we enjoy as Americans. For too many years, politicians from both parties were interested in nothing more than their own power and has grown the government into an absolute money spending monster, there was no difference between the parties. You're damn right we're taking over the Republican Party. We want an alternative to the party that believes the government should take from us as much as they can because they know better on how we should spend our own money.

Then form the Tea Party into a real Political Party and stop riding on the coattails of the Republican Party. Run your own candidate under the Tea Party not Republican Party. Be a Third Party. See if you can come up with someone better than Romney, Gingrich, Paul, Perry, Bachman, etc.

Great idea Kitty. Unfortunately the two majory parties, in order to keep their power, have made it nearly impossible for any third party to even get a foot hold in this country. You ask someone how many political parties we have in this country, they'll tell you two. The fact is we have numerous: The Green Party, The Libertarian Party, The United States Marijuana Party, The Party for Socialism and Liberalism to name just a few. None of them have a chance with the power of the Big Two!

2011 Wasn't good for me. Job's are almost nonexistent the city just lost 500 more jobs last month when Chiquita moved and the Govt. announced they were closing the main branch of the Post office .I'm in my 3rd year of unemployment and since i was a private contractor aka bartender i had no unemployment . It was all in all a pretty crappy year. Although my family is healthy and my hubby has a job doesn't pay much but its a job. So I am grateful for that . Looking forward to 2012 have put in some applications in a boom town in ND hope to hear from some of them soon. So maybe all in all 2012 will be my year.

Hey NBC, here's a thought. How about tell me WHY I should vote for someone and not why I should NOT vote for someone. All your channel does is tell the liberal/uninformed voter why they should not vote for anyone in the GOP. How about telling your audience why they SHOULD vote for Barry again? You cant because he has no record to stand on.

The number one target for the DNC is the uninformed voter.

As the year progressed, things slowly improved for many. Unemployment dipped to about 8.5 percent and there are signs that the economic recover will continue, perhaps at a quicker pace.More importantly, we have successfully removed ourselves from Iraq, which was a terrible blunder to begin with. Considering the dismal economic conditions the current administration inherited, I believe they have done a good job in bringing us back from the brink of economic collapse.

I'd personally would like to see a wide chasm between church and state. I want to freedom to worship openly as I choose without any government interference. And since you can't legislate morality anyway, we should let go of the pipe dream of striving to do so.

Too bad so many of you (especially the left) think some putz in Washington can run your business, control your life, spend your money and make you "happy" better than you can. You'll wait all your life! So sad..........

Our power plants here are run by natural gas too.....so all is good.

Instead of arguing and name calling, suggest and/or do something more beneficial for the nation, like organize a bottom up boycott of Chinese products (why make the Chinese rich and into a military superpower---when we then need even more money for defense??). Or what about a massive protest "call-in" to corporations that have send their call centers to India (staffed by people who have never set foot in a U.S. airport)?? Buying only "Made in the USA" would cut the trade deficit, would cut Government borrowing, would create jobs, and would fund more money into Social Security and Medicare. Any other ideas out there--or just empty headed sniping??!!

Not cheap junk either. Also in the 99 cent stores the produce is local grown. No apples from Fiji or Argentina, but apples is Washington State, Oranges and Avocado from California. Look at labels and don't buy them if they are not made in America. You may have to hunt a little or a lot but they are there.

If you are a small business man there is no longer any incentive to expand. Your holding on to just pay taxes while this government refuses to cut and keeps lifting the debt limit. Really smart. That's like giving your kid a credit card with a higher limit because he/she keeps on going over the max limit and you have no income to cover it because you lost your job.

Lowering the business tax rates which are one of the highest in the world. And vote in a balanced budget amendment. Otherwise we become Greece, Portugal, Spain and Italy and chaos will prevail.
