Simply posting names that are otherwise publicly available is not illegal to my knowledge, but context counts for much, and within the context of a discussion thread that's talking about how the kids should fry, be sodomized etc, there could be some legal risk in terms of facilitating bodily harm to these kids by someone who found their information from your post. I don't think it's a significant legal risk, and would probably be very difficult to prove. That's my sense of it anyway for whatever it's worth . . . which probably ain't much since I'm not an attorney ;)

This is just too funny. First, our Constitution, (remember that important document?) reads that a person knows the difference between right and wrong at the age of FOURTEEN. But they are going to charge the 16 and 15 year olds as juveniles??? They acted in a manner that does not deserve leniency. Charge them as adults, no special exemptions. What does being black have anything to do with this? NONE (as far as I could tell) of these perpetrators were black. The kid was set up by his own cousin.

These kids are old enough to stop blaming the parents. They knew what they were doing.

When the economy is bad, skilled people can end up on welfare. When the economy is good, it's mostly the unskilled that will be in trouble.

I'm not sure I would consider that a virtue. Not defending yourself can easily put you in the morgue. Not that it would have improved his situation here, but this kind of beating can kill a person and praising him for inaction is just ridiculous. I recently had an old highschool friend randomly beaten up on a city street. He was in a coma for over a month and has suffered severe brain damage and is learning to talk again. Defending yourself is not a crime or unvirtuous...even if you have to draw first blood in order to get away from the mob.

Sorry you feel that way, the victim deserves neither praise nor condemnation for his actions in this affray but if he would have wasted these guys he would have been in the right.

A victim of aggression such as this should not have their character qualified depending on whether they resisted or not. "You deserve to get picked on because you didn't stick up for yourself." When the odds are stacked against you, it's legal to use more force than you would against a single attacker. Instead of spreading it out, you can concentrate it on a single target if you feel that's what'll make all of them stop. Obviously this is a risky tactic even in the legal sense, but sometimes it's necessary.

It's exactly that sort of fear-based decision making that kept me the target of bullies. "Oh my god, they could've beaten me worse than they did!". Well, instead, I got to look forward to it continuing week after week, month after month. Looking over my shoulder constantly. That is, until I finally left that fear behind and stood up to them. I'm not saying it couldn't have been worse for this kid if he'd fought back. But I AM saying that when I finally did, the bullying stopped immediately. . . . and never resumed.

While charging the parents is an awesome idea... it just won't fly in court. Though if I were the parent of one of those kids, I'd be in jail for "justifiably" beating my child as much!

While the parents can't be charged for this crime, criminally, they can certainly be sued for the damage their children have inflicted on this kid. We all know little will happen to these kids, besides a few weeks in jail and probation. This kid ought to go and sue the pants off of everyone involved. I'll bet the civil court judge would take a special interest in seeing that these kids and their parents paid the judgements off.

This kind of activity is what happens when parents fail to take time to raise kids properly, and when governments say parents can't disipline them correctly. My generation got good ol' fashioned a$s whoopin's with a belt or "hickory switch", and we didn't run around actin' like a bunch of thugs or wildebeest(i.e. the Air Jordan debacle a few weeks ago). We grew up with a lil respect for other people, and caught full bore, the consequences if we didn't follow up on the right thing. The "justice system" hasn't helped by givin' out sentences, but not enforcing them, so kids grow up now thinkin' they can get away with literal murder. Put these lil idiots in grown up jail in gen pop for about a 5 year min. Time for America and our very failed "justice system" to grow a set. That kid didn't deserve to be gang beaten like he did. Five of the seven teens were also of Asian descent, which is probably why the police are saying it wasn't racially motivated. Also, the racial slur they were using was "nigga", which isn't really an insult to an Asian person.

For these kinds of crimes, we need to tackle them head on, starting with the police!.

The crime was investigated...all of the (alleged) perpetrators apprehended and charged within 72 hours. What more are you expecting from the CPD?

The use of a racial slur doesn't necessarily denote motive. If someone caught their spouse in bed with another person, and killed/beat one or both of them in a crime of passion, the motive is obviously not race. . .even if the killer used a racial slur in the process.
