BOSTON -- President John F. Kennedy's library is releasing 45 hours of privately recorded meetings and phone calls, providing a window into the final months of his life.
The tapes include discussions of conflict in Vietnam, Soviet relations and the race to space, plans for the 1964 Democratic Convention and re-election strategy. There also are moments with his children.
On one recording, made days before Kennedy's assassination, he asks staffers to schedule a meeting in a week.
He tells them he's booked for the weekend, with no time to meet with an Indonesian general then.
"I'm going to be up at the Cape on Friday, but I'll see him Tuesday," JFK tells staffers.
The tapes, released on Tuesday by the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum and downloadable in .zip file format from the archive website, are the last of more than 260 hours of recordings of meetings and conversations JFK privately made before his assassination in Dallas on Nov. 22, 1963.
In the scheduling discussion three days before his killing, JFK also eerily comments on what would become the day of his funeral.
"Monday?" he asks. "Well that's a tough day."
"It's a hell of a day, Mr. President," a staffer replies.
Audio tapes featuring Jackie Kennedy that were made in the months following John F. Kennedy's death are providing a new look at the former first lady.
Kennedy kept the recordings a secret from his top aides. He made the last one two days before his death.
Kennedy library archivist Maura Porter said Monday that JFK may have been saving them for a memoir or possibly started them because he was bothered when the military later gave a different overview of a discussion with him about the Bay of Pigs.
In a tape declassified in May 2011, President John F. Kennedy is heard expressing doubts about the expense of the space program as he prepared for his reelection campaign. NBC's Brian Williams reports.
The latest batch of recordings captured meetings from the last three months of Kennedy's administration. In a conversation with political advisers about young voters, Kennedy asks, "What is it we have to sell them?"
"We hope we have to sell them prosperity, but for the average guy the prosperity is nil," he says. "He's not unprosperous, but he's not very prosperous. ... And the people who really are well off hate our guts."
Kennedy talks about a disconnect between the political machine and voters.
"We've got so mechanical an operation here in Washington that it doesn't have much identity where these people are concerned," he says.
On another recording, Kennedy questions conflicting reports military and diplomatic advisers bring back from Vietnam, asking the two men: "You both went to the same country?"
He also talks about trying to create films for the 1964 Democratic Convention in color instead of black and white.
"The color is so damn good," he says. "If you do it right."
Porter said the public first heard about the existence of the Kennedy recordings during the Watergate hearings.
In 1983, JFK Library and Museum officials started reviewing tapes without classified materials and releasing recordings to the public. Porter said officials were able to go through all the recordings by 1993, working with government agencies when it came to national security issues and what they could make public.
In all, she said, the JFK Library and Museum has put out about 40 recordings. She said officials excised about 5 to 10 minutes of this last group of recordings due to family discussions and about 30 minutes because of national security concerns.
Porter has supervised the declassification of these White House tapes since 2001, and she said people will have a much better sense of the kind of leader JFK was after hearing them. While some go along with meeting minutes that also are public, she said, listening to JFK's voice makes his personality come alive.
She said he comes across as an intelligent man who had a knack for public relations and was very interested in his public image. But she said the tapes also reveal times when the president became bored or annoyed and moments when he used swear words.
The sound of the president's children, Caroline and John Jr., playing outside the Oval Office is part of a recording on which he introduces them to Soviet Foreign Minister Andrei Gromyko.
"Hello, hello," Gromyko says as the children come in, telling their father, "They are very popular in our country."
JFK tells the children, mentioning a dog Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev gifted the family: "His chief is the one who sent you Pushinka. You know that? You have the puppies."
JFK Library spokeswoman Rachel Flor said the daughter of the late president has heard many of the recordings, but she wasn't sure if she had heard this batch.
"He'd go from being a president to being a father," Porter said of the recordings. "... And that was really cute."

They had every right to be worried about Lyndon being president. What a slimeball he was. People say Carter was the worst democrat president, in my view it was Lyndon by far. His "great society" programs spawned the entitlenment attitude which plagues this nation and wastes billions of tax dollars, he signed of the disasterous Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965 which essentially opened the flood gates, and the Vietnam War. People always finger Republicans as warmongers but Lyndon was the biggest warmonger in the past 50 years.
I thought Kennedy was a great leader, but it's a shame that he needed to pick such a low life to be his vice president.
Compared to the kennedy family moral values, Johnson was a Saint.
Yes, because family moral values are much more important than decisions which impact the nation as a whole.
A person makes all of their life choices based on experience and moral values. Without morals, all that remain are your unscrupulous descisions. (rum running, womanizing, murdering, drinking and alcoholism, raping. etc) That is the true legacy.
Lyndon escalated the Vietnam war which resulted in millions of casualties and incredible suffering. Don't talk to me about morals.
All LBJ did was continue the Kennedy programs and policies. He did the same with Vietnam as Kennedy's plan. I wonder if the tape they are releasing will have him and Marilyn in a clinch? Also the majority of casualties in the war didn't happen till after Nixon was elected. Better re-read your history books young man.
Not defending Johnson in any manner. I too despise his whole entitlement mentality. Not comparing leadership skills either. My only point is, leadership will take you far. But leadership without morals, will take you even further, all the way to hell.
I will always wonder if this was the reason he was assassinated.
http://www.john-f-kennedy.net/thefederalreserve.htm
He wanted to get the United States out of the control of the Federal Reserve Bank.
@YELDARB27
Fair enough.
Actually, history has proven that Carter was right about a lot of things. Imagine if we had actually followed through on his plan for energy independence. We might have avoided a few wars and been free from a lot of the woes we have today. Carter was a very good president; we were just too lazy and selfish to realize it.
unn, Carter locked up a lot of land where the energy would come from so it couldn't be used towards energy independence and it is STILL locked up.
I wonder if these tapes mention who he scored his drugs from or who was the pimp that set him up with the quiff or do they mention which one had Maryllyn Monroe murdered, him or his slimeball brother Bobby. Yep the Kennedy's, such a great family, NOT. Really up there with family values.
And Newt's morals are what YELDARB????
"Public land" mean exactly that...it is held by the government in the best interest of the general public of this nation ...not to be given to for-profit business interests for FREE -- to use and abuse and sell back any resurces obtained for a big mark up.. Yes, we need to reserach and better develope all our energy options -- but in a smaret and balanced way. Seems everyone is all for drilling for oil in and mining for coal etc... as long as it is in someone else back yard. Ben Franklin (he was a founding father, by the way) said it best; "All things in moderation?"
David - actually President Carter is a man who had ideas far advanced for our times, energy independence to me does not mean we keep using oil for anything (I am very anti oil, hope some day we wake up and stop using it all together for anything other than frying bad food). Energy independence means we should have other sources of energy, which Carter supported then and today, he knew it was the only way to get out from under control of the middle east, which made the folks in Iran so mad at us they took our embasy hostage - all the stuff most folks want to feed you about the ayatolah is just junk, the real meat and potatoes of this issue is oil and the fact that we need to be totally independent from using it. there were many good energy policies under President Carter - first ever windmills- man we could have had lots of clean energy if we had only taken the right road back then, solar was coming into play - another great source of energy, but no, we have to bow to the idiots in texas who only think of oil and ways to prop up their billionairs. enough is enough - so glad the pipeline has been axed - renegotiate it when we can build a refinery anywhere other than texas - which by the way piping the oil to texas would not mean new long term jobs, they would mearly use already built and staffed refineries, whereas new refineries in Montana or Wyoming would mean new long term jobs and best of all - nothing new for texas. by all means, let rickperry succeed from the union, I'm pretty tired of their whinning anyway.
Unfortunately for President Kennedy, he had the same problem a few of our other leaders have had and still have, ronnie, newt, john edwards - probably good guys until they unzip their pants, then all their brains fall out.
Well at least Newt married his.
UnionBaby, I'm not sure a pipeline to Montana or Wyoming would achieve the end result. I've visited Montana. It is the very last, most beautiful pristine state left in the union. The problem is that airlines and other means of transportation makes tourism in Montana difficult and hugely expensive.
The problem with a lengthy pipeline anywhere in the US is the damage it would do to the water aquifers. Anyone who pretends that a pipe leaking into the soil doesn't end up in groundwater doesn't know much about the damage it creates. Once oil leaches into soil and then groundwater, it doesn't remain static...it travels with each and every rain event.
It's true that regular integrity testing of pipelines would prevent most leaks. But that cuts into oil profits because the cost of integrity testing is prohibitive.
I also believe that Canada's big idea was to export that oil. Hence, the 1700 mile pipeline to Texas. The US would become nothing more than a facilitator of Canadian exporting of oil.
Marge, yeah twice... Character matters Newt has none!!!!
Lyndon Johnson was not supposed to be JFK's running mate. JFK was basically bullied into it by someone very powerful within the party. I know this from someone who was a witness to the conversation where the person who was supposed to be the running mate was told it wasn't going to happen and why.
LBJ was responsible for the Civil Rights Act, Voting Rights Act, and Medicare for seniors. He just did not have the power to stop the Pentagon and the CIA from their folly in southeast Asia.
Frank--I'm not sure politics and character go hand in hand at all, whether it's playing footsies in the White House or passing unpopular bills in the dead of night because you "won't take no for an answer". It's a power thing. I'm not endorsing anything Newt did. I'm just stating a fact.
Several of the posters are right LBJ was not JFKs pick but the DNC force him on JFK. I read this in an article, I will see if I can find it again. Yes LBJ did get the Civil Rights Act, Voting Rights Act and several things passed but they were in the works before JFK went to TX all LBJ did was finish the job. If you go back and look and read about LBJ term in office you see that he did very little of his own accord. I would say almost everything he did was down party lines. I was a teenager during this time and did meet JFK in away. When he visited Pueblo he asked me how I broke my leg. Never did like LBJ, always thought he had something to do with JFKs death, he wanted to be President even before that day in TX. JFK may not have the best but he wasn't the worse and so what if the Presidents have girls friends or what ever we are all human and we all make mistakes. We put them in fish bowls, dig into their pasts and what ever and we do hold them to a higher standard. Okay we should hold them to a higher standard after all they are going to run our great nation, but do we really care who they are sleeping with? What should care about is are they about a free nation, who are their mentors and things like that.
There's a difference between promoting alternative energy and stonewalling anything to do with fossil fules just because you're a tree hugger.
Wayno6-1 - Wrong, before he left for Dallas President Kennedy signed an order pulling us out of Vietnam by the end of 1963. He saw it was becoming a quagmire in 1963. The day after Johnson became President he cancelled it and signed one ordering the build-up that the Military and defense contractors wanted.
Rockyroad - You are CORRECT.
Wrong!! Johnson escalated the Vietnam war. Kennedy had no plans to have America take over that war.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UM3uaXp8DAk&feature=related
Here is an interview with Walter Cronkite just a couple of months before the JFK assassination clearly stating that we can assist but the fight was Vietnam's fight.
No one can truly say what JFK would have done or not done if he had not been killed in 1963. All we can do is project our own feeling onto the situation --and come to some concludtion based on what othere say they think he might have done. It is also true that LBJ moved ahead on some issues (Civil Right, Spacerace to the moon, etc) that Kennedy had started ( in part using the "ghost of Kennedy' --he would have wanted this to happen angle)-- but LBJ was a master politican in his own right who made certain decision on his own. Those who "balme" LBJ for the "social/entitlements' which you believe directly caued our current econmic situation are ill-imformed. A lot of things have happned in the past 40-50 years... JFK has been dead since 1963, Johnson passed in the early 1970's -- Nixon, Ford and Reagan are also gone. Presidents and policies come and go ... Taxation rates have gone up and down. There is no one person or thing to balme.
Rockyroad,
If Exectutive Order 11110 is still valid, one has to wonder WTF!!! Why hasn't it been enacted?
@ A Veteran Question 4 ya were we not draged into Vitnam because of the CIA covert ops?
The day after Johnson became President he cancelled it and signed one ordering the build-up that the Military and defense contractors wanted.
Thank-you for that Sir ~S~ you saved me the trouble of wayno's history lesson.(don't know who's history he is talking about though)
Wayno6-1
All LBJ did was continue the Kennedy programs and policies. He did the same with Vietnam as Kennedy's plan
Sir I wonder where you get or got your informationn? Lets see programs LBJ continued that I know of The Peace corps, and the space program. Yep your right those were not worth there continuation. As far as his polices Vietnam was not a place he wanted this country to get involved in as solders on the ground. that was the military industrial complex that did
rocky! thanks for that link
America is full of heros with clay feet, that's a given; thus, 'He who is w/o sin should cast the first stone!'
That said, let us not delude ourselves into pretending as if American styled Politics does not require of the elected, to play hard, dirty and rough!
Politics ain't Church, though it is a Religion with lesser saints than sinners.
Those of you with selective memories only enjoy a fragmented perspective, so cut the crap until you're able to link the entire senario as a whole!
Like the analogy of the blind men and the elephant, individually, each one of you have spoken the truth based upon your experience and knowledge; yet, in the heat of arguing amongst yourselves about who's telling the Truth, cooler heads are less likely to prevail and realize the higher wisdom of pursuing a Collective Prespective.
In his 1959 farewell speech to the nation, President Eisenhower warned Americans about the immiment threat of a new Frankenstien called "The Military-Industrial Complex." Well, that Frankenstien got to test its legs in the Vietnam War, where Post WW11 Weapons Manufacturers received the opportunity to test their newer products. (Including Mapalm)
On the darker side of the Moon, the US was also cleaning up behind France's debacle in Asia. "The Big Three: France, Britain, & America" are the reigning Colonial Powers whose greatest nemisis to their desire for a 'Globalized Free Market Economy' is the 'Socialism of Communism.'
The World renouned Perfect architecture of the Egyptian Pyramid is inscribed onto your beloved Dollar Bill, symbolizes that Master Buliders are at work as it pertains to your Centralized Bank, Government, Politics and Economics...just to name a few Key Institutions.
The Truth has nothing do with how we feel about it, yet, certain Truths are deliberately suppressed for the good of those in power, that they may remain in power (empowered)
By connecting these dots, you will arrive where we dwell....awaiting your arrival.
Peace by Peace....
I agree with Yaghtracer. LBJ by far the worst president in my lifetime. Carter was bad but had good intentions. Johnson was just evil. He is directly responsible for Pol Pot coming into power.
"tells his staff, I'm booked for the weekend" LOL...Yeah, I wonder who with????
To those who want to make out that Kennedy was some kind of saint, go ahead if you really are that dumb. Kennedy sent the 1st combat troops to Vietnam, not LBJ. I was in the Army in 1962, close to getting out when JFK re-activated the unit I was in with plans to send them to Vietnam. I had been a drill instructor for a basic training unit in Colorado. Before JFK there were only a handful of advisors that had been sent there by Ike. 1964 was the 1st time I could vote, Had JFK been alive I would not have voted for him. I did vote for LBJ though, big mistake on my part.
How the Kennedy and staffer comments sounds like the current administration. We hope we have to sell them prosperity, but for the average guy the prosperity is nil." "They aren't very prosperous but They aren't unprosperous". "The truly prosperous hate out guts". And " We've got so mechanical operation her in Washington that it has little identity where "these people" are concerned". 40 years on and the rhetoric remains the same. To quote "Ten years after",,, "Tax the rich, feed the poor, til there are no, rich no more". But then what? Without the rich's cash you're left with Government owned and supplied everything. Welcome to the final stages of creating the USSA. Where the bureaucrats (party notwithstanding) are quickly becoming the new wealthy elite and the rest of us will be surfs. Of course this will be collapsed, no real surprise, no one wants to hear the truth anymore.
We can go by the evidence that was left. We know what Kennedy said in the Walter Cronkite interview, that I linked in my previous post. We also know that Kennedy wasn't easily conned into jumping into war. Evidence proves that. Kennedy was pressured to start a war with Cuba on different occasions and decided against it even though big money and the military did everything they could to persuade him otherwise. So I think we have a pretty good idea what course Kennedy would have taken.
I thought this was a strange comment. Not because I am claiming to be a Vietnam vet, because I definitely wasn't anywhere near the age to be serving in 1962. But I remember watching a movie about a Lieutenant Colonel Hal Moore, Fighting the Battle of Ia Drang starting on November 14, 1965. And I remember them stating that they were among the first combat troops in Vietnam. That is in 1965, not 1962. I know that there were support troops sent to Vietnam earlier. But not for combat purposes. And a simple search brings up many sites to support this. A timeline for Vietnam from the University of Illinois states for 1965:
http://www.english.illinois.edu/maps/vietnam/timeline.htm
I can't imagine, even though I always try, but to be married to Jackie and to be getting your sex from Marilyn, wow, now thats just unreal right there. Thats living like a king. I just don't think it gets any better than that. Not saying it was right, but if he could get away with it, then more power to him. I don't think there was another president that had a combination of women with this kind of glamour and beauty ever. This guy pulled it off too, so I can't critisize him about that, I would of done the exact same thing myself, if I could.
tenese, there is more oil in North America than the far east, and solar has never been cost effective. you might want to say you dont care about money, but if it came from your pocket we would see an immediate treason.
I will provide the information tomorrow from the book "The killing of a President", that has a print of the declassified Top Secret document Kennedy signed against the wishes of the Joint Chiefs, saying that we were to be out of Vietnam by the end of 1963.
Yep, he did have the two sexist women, in the world, at his finger tips. Well thats my thoughts on those two ladies, they were a class act. I don't think theres ever been any other women of this kind of beauty, with one guy at the same time. Two really truly beautiful ladies right there, if I ever seen one. I don't know what this guy had, but he sure did make the best of it. R.I.P.
Kennedy kept us out of World War III. I'm not convinced that Nixon would have been able to perform that task. Nixon was a power vampire and he seemed paranoia. Do I think Nixon was somehow unbalanced? Yes, I believe it's possible. From all I've read about him, he didn't always act rationally. Nixon wasn't suited to be the Leader of the Free World. I was always distressed I wasn't old enough to vote against Nixon.
Kennedy was a great diplomat and he had the huevos to lead the country. Nixon only cared about himself and getting re-elected, thus the Watergate scandal ensued and his subsequent impeachment.
TWICE !!
Yea, He's the cream of the crop isn't he?
If we don't look at the "over-lap' of wives...
@ Yeldarb27: Yes it is common knowledge that JFK enjoyed the ladies. But you say LBJ was a siant by comparison, only if you believe a buffoon to be so. LBJ is the one who turned Social Security into a national insurance policy which is one of the reasons it is going broke today. LBJ was a fish that took hook, line and sinker regarding the Gulf of Tonkin. LBJ was the one who escalated the Viet-Nam war, even though 5 Star General Douglas MacArthur told him it was not a war that we could win. LBJ went on to support a South Vietnamese government so corrupt that it was hopeless to win the support of the people. LBJ was such a complete buffoon that he made a mockery of Jacqueline Kennedy in front of the White Hose Press Corps. HE even had a toilet built on AF 1 that elevated while he was enthroned so that he could continue to speak to people while taking care of "other business." Hang LBJ's picture high in your bathroom.
The Cold War was WWIII. Just not your typical war.
"The Chappaquiddick accident was recently investigated by the latest computer aided investigators and methods. Teddy Kennedy couldn't have been driving that car, if he had been he'd be dead, too"
COMEDY GOLD. Kennedy didn't deny driving the car, half-wit. If he didn't then someone else did and he was guilty of interfering with a criminal investigation.
Mark, I too would have found it funny but this guy is serious. Talk about deluisions and revisionist history. I want to drink whatever it is that this guy is smoking. Maybe it was just the worse case of suicide ever accomplished and Ted was just a passer by do gooder. Right!
And how did we go from an article about the Kennedys to Newt. If you really want to compare modern day morals and family values, why not start Slick Willy Clinton. Talk about scumbag sleaze jobs.........
YES, Lyndon was a puppet and he signed what has been brainwashed to sign, meaning EVERYTHING. The Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965 allowed many people from the Middle East to come in the country. They are now a huge influential group in and around D.C.
I'd check how many Israelis have immigrated to the US in that time frame based on that law. ;-)
I think these tapes are kind of maudlin.
Agree with the negative assessment of LBJ. His War on Poverty, Guns and Butter and vastly underfunded Medicare program haunt us today. A huge part of our current fiscal and cultural mess can be traced to LBJ. Cultural mess is defined as the widespread notion that it is the government's job to take care of us.
FDR's mission was noble, if not financially sound. Take care of the very old and the very poor. LBJ greatly expanded welfare and government assistance, in addition to the Vietnam mess. I am surprised that LBJ is not ranked near the bottom of all presidents. Historians rank presidents on quantity of legislation passed frequently without regard to the merits of the legislation.
I oppose them politically, but let the Kennedy's rest in peace.
If only he were president today!
that brings up an interesting idea....If President Kennedy somehow returned from the great beyond, would he be allowed to finish up his term in office? Could he run for re-election?
Man, I would TOTALLY vote for ZombieKennedy! The debates would be a riot!...unless he couldn't find any brains in the republican candidates to munch on. Or fit Gingrich's head in his mouth.
If he came back, we'd all have a lot of explaining of ourselves to do.
our government is merely a reflection of the country as a whole (or is that hole?) either way it's not a pretty sight.
Today's democrats in office have the thinking of the Republicans of JFK's time while todays Republicans lean more towards JFK's democrats thinking.
Gingrich's head in his mouth? Gringrich's ego is bigger.
Giesua Giorno
A Kennedy / Reagan debate would be interesting, imo ...
When I read the title I was hoping for a sex tape with Marilyn Monroe :)
Yes, if Kennedy was president today we could blame all of our problems on him then we would be flying into LBJ or driving on the Johnson. It probably has more to do with timing and cause and effect that makes the Legacy. Washington and Lincoln were extraordinary but the social impacts of the times that were in motion have more to do with how leaders are judged in my opinion. But these are all just opinions and you know what is said about that!
If Kennedy was alive today (not habing been killed and NOT being a zombie-which is a popular thing these days) He would be like 95 years old. We can play "What if" in so many situation ..what we will never really know. Yes, it is true that LBJ wanted to be President -- in fact he ran in the primaries in 1960 (against Kenndedy and others) --he was an important and powerful political figure in the late 1950's and many thought he would be President one day anyway. Which is part of the reason that JFK and his team decided to pick him to be on the ticket in 1960. Wanted his help to get votes in the south (Texan) and wanted his connection in the Congress and Senate (and it's better having him in the tent). LBJ did not love the Kennedys both he also saw the benefit on being on the team and knew that he could use being VP to make the next big move --It just came sooner then anyone would have liked or expected. And while he did finalize many of JFK policies -- he was re-elected in his own right by a landslide in 1964.
JFK would not be part of what the democrats are today.
LBJ wanted to be president sooo bad, he orchestrated Kennedy's assination.....enough said !!!
You have got to be kidding. That is the last thing we need is another Obama.
dearls - Short and to the point, but more true than you think.
David-472916: You are correct. Many of the problem makers of the Democrat Party bolted to the Republican side AFTER the Civil Rights was enacted. With them went the Fundamentalists, the Evangelicals, the Neo-Nazis, the Neo-Facists, and the KKK. They were welcomed into the Republican Party by certain Segregationists, State-Righters, and others that had previously bolted from the Southern Democratic Party in the mid to late 50's following Desegregation Laws.
These bolters actually swapped ideals between the Parties. THEN the Libertarians grabbed hold of the Republican Party and added their slant to politics. Now think quite seriously about how our Government will look IF Libertarians gain total control and Corporations took over Government. Fancy, nay. Plausible, yea. A step has already been forged -- Corporations now have the status of a person.
Someone mentioned that the Democratic Party would turn away from him. However, he would never become a Republican of the likes that we have today. He wouldn't be able to stand the stench being emitted by Libertarian-Republicans of today.
"The more things change the more they stay the same."
That is because we never grasped the errors committed in the past, and are doomed to commit them again and again.
Please release the files and secret recordings of MLK now instead of 2027. Why so long? Then we can get a proper perspective on his "legacy" and end the revisionist history our children are being deluded with. Kennedy said many good things, but, caught up in the excesses afforded those in power, was flawed. God sets up kings and takes them down. He must be sore displeased with the U.S. now. May He grant us repentance and forgiveness before its too late.
west504...I was a teenager when MLK was taking it to the streets. Your bigotry is showing. MLK was a man driven by the idea of non-violent protest. Something some racist white southerners detested enough to allow their cops to turn attack dogs on protesters in civil rights marches.
Your post proves that racism is still alive and well. Civil rights...do any of the hotcha white supremacists even know what that means? I tell you what it doesn't mean: It doesn't mean that a bunch of dominant, bullying white males get to carry big sticks and pulverize the civil rights of everyone they consider "inferior".
MLK preached from his heart. Too many stupids from the south can't abide anyone who isn't pasty faced and bigoted. God didn't take MLK down. Envy of his very simple message did. What can you or anyone possibly find wrong with a man who is assassinated for no other reason than that he tried to effect fair and equal rights for ALL Americans?
I stomp on that stupid Stars and Bars flag any time I get the chance. It's a detestable protest against our government. We are not now nor ever will be a "Confederacy" of rich plantation owners who get that way from free slave labor.
Jefferson Davis was a bigoted hypocrite who actually believed he could save rich white plantation owners from ever having to pay for the labor that made them rich. If there is a hell, that Good Ole Boi Davis is burning in it.
The anger and reverse bigotry in your post really do a disservice the Martin Luther King Jr and his legacy of non-violent protest, his dream of a time when children would be in school together, on playgrounds together, working and playing, never making any distinction by color of skin or ethnic background. There are many poor and poorly educated white people, just as there are many successful, wealthy, and educated black Americans, and probably a great increase in the successful, thanks in large measure to MLK and his message of hope and healing. Time for finger pointing to end. The days of the rich plantation owners is long past....most Americans do not have any direct connection to those slave holders. I know that my family came as immigrants and service in the Union army was one of the roads to citizenship. I know many black Americans, who likewise, are children of immigrants coming to this country after the civil war and after the age of slavery.
Wow EWENT. Love the non-racist, non-bigoted, non-violent post there.
...UNFORTUNATELY...the 'plantation' has grown into the citizenry of the USA and the 'owners' are the folks involved and owning the government and big business and nearly every single politician in Washington who have designed laws enabling them to circumvent law governing all folks outside of their scope ...insider trading for them is legal...pay raises are instituted by themselves...etc...etc...the USA has been owned lock, stock, and barrel for many years and will continue to be that way as we continue to sit back and never attempt to do anything about it....our military is the largest employer in the USA...and most of the folks there (in positions of stateside )are collecting huge paychecks, benefits for doing what???It is a reversible situation only now with decreasing all federal, state and local powers and authority to a minimum...how else can anyone in a lower or middle class position ever see themselves as having any sort of power as a voter or citizen...freaking sick and twisted as most politicians like the current ilk have become...
Sue..I'm proud of my prejudice against bigots. Why aren't you? When I say bigots that includes closet bigots too cowardly to stand on the courage of their own convictions. Sorry, but I do NO disservice to MLK. Only those who seek to interject a biased opinion by calling me a reverse "bigot" shows how desperate they are to hang onto pre-Civil War racism. I know all the tricks of the trade and buzz words closet racists use because I was married to one for 15 years.
I'm a caucasian female born to a dirt poor Italian farmer immigrant. So please spare me the hotcha BS of reverse bigotry. I am proud of the fact that I don't view any other human being as anything other than an equal. Can you say the same?
MLK did a very good thing, but he was flawed, as we all are. He is lionized and we only hear part of the story.
Here's a news flash for ewent: Just because someone makes a negative comment about a black person, it doesn't mean he or she is racist.
What about you, ewent? Do you decry the racist views of dominant black males joining racist groups like the New Black Panthers, then going to a voting location carrying big sticks, bullying white voters, all sanctioned by the US Dept of Justice?
There are many other incidents where groups of black youths beating up someone because they are white. These are not rare incidents.
Racism goes both ways, and calling every negative remark racism doesn't do anything productive.
Please keep your god and your religious drivel in the church of your choice......does not belong in political discussions.
Get a grip, please. They are still here. They are now called CORPORATIONS with a permanent, uneducated (purposely) underclass to serve their needs (just as before, but now they need more, paler slave labor). Wake up.
And while I applaud your family's immigrant story, you fail to realize they benefited from the racial policies from the past.
OK, great. What about all the black soldiers who fought (where they were allowed to instead of digging fortifications and moving supplies, driving wagons, cooking etc...) The E.P. gave them their freedom on paper, but they still had to go out into the real world. Meanwhile MY ancestor, who actually did drive a wagon for a southern colonel (his personal slave...), was set free only when that regiment was captured/killed in MD. Couldn't retrieve his family from S.C. for fear of being returned to slavery. Separated PERMANENTLY from them. I HAVE FAMILY I WILL NEVER KNOW ABOUT. These things are the permanent scars and legacies we as black folks STILL LIVE WITH TODAY.
When this REALLY AND TRULY happens, we ALL will be glad to see no need for the NAACP, EEOC or any other initalisim we need, to keep things relatively fair, disappear permanently.
The poster wanted to "expose" MLK. Why? Does the poster have such an immaculate history of civil rights that MLK should suddenly have all of his flaws exposed? So that means no matter how great a person is, they must always have their worst flaws of characters superimposed above the good that they do, right? Cockeyed reasoning that. Men are infidels since the dawn of time. Some women are their greatest enablers of such misguided judgments. Not even the popes are without flaw. It's called being "human".
I don't hate George Bush. He had many personal flaws as we all do. I hate what he allowed others to do to him under the guise of their "alliances" with him. I'm sure if we dig deep enough, there has to be some saving grace for even a curmudgeon like Cheney.
I always love the way racists love to use black activists like the Black Panthers as their best example of black racism. The problem with that is the basis from which the Black Panthers anger and bitterness originated...denial of their civil rights. So like all misguided human beings, their particular flaws became accelerated. It's in the perpetuation of racism that the greatest evil is committed.
Any day of the week you want to go to Long Island, you can find any number of Guidos out looking for black, Jewish, Arabic and Hispanics to beat on. Please reread your post. You focus on black on white crime without addressing the massive crime of buying and selling human beings to work for free on plantations. Start with that before attempting to justify your version of "racism".
Ewent--you were starting to convince me until you used the word "Guido" in a sentence.
ewent,
Guido is one thing. Another is "Men are infidels from the dawn of time." Makes me wonder about the "caucasian female born to a dirt poor Italian farmer immigrant." Did you grow up using the word infidel? Also your tone smells of a bad marriage and you're unwarrented hatred of all men.
The FBI file on MLK was so bad that when it was shared with congress during the holiday voting many congressmen literally put it on the floor and jumped up and down on it.
Even the NYTIMES had to admit MLK was a plagiarist. http://www.nytimes.com/1990/11/10/us/plagiarism-seen-by-scholars-in-king-s-phd-dissertation.html?pagewanted=all&src=pm
Funny how it is always implied that "ALL" white people were plantation &/or slave owners. When im fact. the vast majority were not. Only the American aristocracy were slave owners, oddly enough, they were Democrats. The majority of white people were poor, self sufficient settlers and farmers. As far removed from the marbled halls of the plantation house as they could possibly keep them. Poor white were no better than slaves to the wealthy of the time. In fact, many ended up indentured servants to the plantations. Working off debts that accrued interest faster than it could be worked off.
Now a different perspective. My family was here long before the first European, later day Americans trespassed on this land. We Onkwehonwe, (Oon-gwe-hoon-wa), original people, west of the Mississippi river saw them as what they were, invaders, murderers, and users of biological weapons, (small pox among others). Our experience with black people was in the blue coats of the cavalry, Buffalo soldiers, killing our women, children and elders while the men were out hunting or fighting the other invaders of our land. Such as the hero George Armstrong Custer, Yellow hair to us. We did manage to kill him. And people wonder why this country is in the toilet. Could it be it's been your predatory nature brought with you? Naaaaaaaaahhhhh.
Okay, I've had my rant, you can feel free to collapse this comment now. no one wants to hear the truth anymore.
Nicodemusdude,
The truth is refreshing to many of us. This great "christian" nation should know that sins are sometimes passed down to the tenth generation. A spiritual law is just that, a law.
Anyone using biological weapons today would find themselves in front of the Hague.
"The FBI file on MLK was so bad that when it was shared with congress during the holiday voting many congressmen literally put it on the floor and jumped up and down on it."
Hilarious. Just how stupid do you need to be to believe that?
Post modern democrats are an insufferable lot. JFK belonged to a political party that is no longer recognizable nor viable. The GOP may not have the most perfect candidates, but they are better than what we have by a long shot. Anybody but Obama in 2012. (ABO)
yeah right, like any of them would be better than Obama, Obama going to win in 2012 thanks to the Tea Party
today this insufficient Moron will give a insufficient speech on the state of the union I hope he does not ruin a perfect ground hog day and make him not see his Shadow by staying in his hole trying to avoid a filth upon our nation.
Sorry fella - Nobody but Obama in 2012 (NBO)!
georg pollog It always amazes me how some Americans degenerate into disrespectful, chronic complainers. Your president had his 8 years and botched it up as bad as it gets. We allowed a bunch of overindulged Republican rich bois to suffer an oppressive 8 years of war, death, poverty, hardship and the idea that rich means privileged. Oh no it doesn't. Every American in this country is equal to every other American. Why? WE ALL PAY TAXES. So long as we do, rich asses and the neoconservative chronic complainers will have to learn to come down off their high horses. Those saddle sores are turning cancerous. We don't need another swaggering, drawling lunatic telling us what we already know: A vote for any of today's Republicans is a ticket to work our lives away to make the 1% richer and the rest of us 99% poorer. Sorry, no can do.
President O in 2012. Get over yourselves.
Nobama 2012
Happy Days Are Here Again...President Obama in 2012! Stand back you slugs of the GOP. Main Street is shutting our doors and our purse strings to you.
There is not one of this crew running for the GOP nom who has any idea what it is really like to "work for a living'. At the next debate they should each be asked -- "what is your defination of Middle -clas'??' -- they have no clue -- There goal is only to allow big business and the richest to make more money, pay less taxes and misinform the public and take advantage of the real working peole of this nation.
You all need to take off your blinders. obama (puppet of soros) cannot continue to be president.
Painless Truth- I WAS middle class and now I make the same amount of money but have lost my house, wife lost her job, have to pay more for gas, food, taxes, health care, and still I am just getting by day by day. The dems have done a great job of fixing this problem. YA RIGHT!!! Don't blame Bush!!! He was a typical politician full of crap that started it. But Obama and Congress has had 3 years to get a start on fixing this problem but still NO PROGRESS!! Seems half the people on this site support Obama. WHY?? Wife still does not have a job, still paying exorbitant prices on everything and no hope in sight. Maybe an asteriod hit would solve all problems!!! Period!!!!
OMG Obama Must Go!!
Then again 4 more years of Obama would be like being hit by an asteroid. Good Luck!!!!!
@BikeBoy: Sorry you are having so much trouble in today's econmic reality (clearly your reading skill can not be to blame). I did not say I was in love with President Obama, I am indeed disapppointed with mich he has done -- or not gotten done -- but how would any of the current crop of GOP canidates resolve your problems?. And how can we really not hold "W" accountable for policies that have lead to this current situation. The GOP in Congress have stoppped much of the (possible) progress Mr. Obama might have been able to do.. even the "so-called" Obama-Care has not even take effect yet...so how did that hurt you? In fact, based on your remarks it would actually be a good thing for you. How would continueing policies of the past decade which lead to the current situation make it better? Lower taxes for companies that make bigger profits and - still no jobs!!! it is like saying that the best way to fix your broken toe is to break two more!!! i realize you are unpet -- but lashing out @ others is not the answer either -- good luck
ANYBODY except a Libertarian should be the shout from every rooftop across this Nation. And those who have taken over the Republican Party ARE Libertarians. Google what a Libertarian believes in. It will change your mind. American Citizens YES, Corporations, NO.
they took this long to edit it???
Of course now...we won't EVER get to see any of the Bush Administrations "secret tapes". That presidential shredded worked overtime to insure that. It's why Baby Bush's first act as president was to get his syrupy mitts on the tapes that would have accused his old man of a whole lot of "gentler, kinder" crimes like his part in Iran ContraGate. Now wasn't that just soooo sweet of Sonny to make sure none of that evidence ever got to the American taxpayers who paid Old Man Bush's salary?
Hell, I'd bet anything those Bush Administration tapes would make an Oscar award winning movie. Too bad we'll never get to see a single one of them. So much for presidential transparency right?
ewent: If you analyze a series of Movies you will see what was on those tapes. Fiction is not very far from Facts.
you do realize how much of a harpy you sound, right ewent? ohhhhh, I get it...you hate men! sorry I didn't see that before. Well tuff@!$%# sister, we are here to stay and here to say " get off yer azz and fetch me a beer, then crawl on your knees right over here and stuff it, yea stuff it." That would be your fat mouth you carpet munching biatch man hating misogynist hooker...
Lyndon was only doing as he was told, he was a Presidential plant. Everyone who is honest knows Kennedy was killed because the military leaders wanted to get in on the War in Nam but Kennedy thought it would be a loss of too many soldiers and a generation of young men would die but the military were Warmongers so Kennedy was murdered. Hmm poor Lee Harvy Owald he was a patsy and was murdered before he could talk.
These tapes prove our political structure (no matter the party) is disconnected with the people. I'd like to mention Nixion as another disconcerned president. Perhaps before anyone runs for public office they should take a lie dectector test gaging their corruption, or perhaps better yet, their honesty!
How do you know a politician is lying? Certainly no need for the lie detector test, a waste of time & money.
Annon - How do you know if a politician is lying? Simple! Observe the mouth and see if the lips are moving.
Politicians KNOW how to beat the Polygraph. They are so used to lying, that the machine would only kick into action if they told the TRUTH.
Politicians beat it by having no pulse.
It doesn't matter who the president is or will be to come. They will all dangle and dance at the hands of the "puppet master".
Now, here is a person who understands true politics.
Amen...
Not all JFK was killed right after he decided to block isreal from getting the A bomb.
Obumma hasn't been dancing on a string good enought either -http://religion.blogs.cnn.com/2012/01/23/jewish-newspapers-editor-resigns-over-obama-assassination-column/
Now you are catching on. BIG MONEY runs this Country, not the average Citizen and not the Politicians. Politicians are mere well-heeled and well-financed puppets tied to someone's coattails.
Eliminating 30 minutes for national security concerns from tapes THAT OLD. it must be UFOs of something of that nature.
Actually, there is still material classified from 100 years ago, and a very large amount still classified from World War II. Not likely UFO material, though, more likely stuff that is simply embarrassing to us or another country.
That 30 mins is about why he died. JFK was killed right after he decided to block isreal from getting the A bomb.
Obumma hasn't been dancing on a string good enought either -http://religion.blogs.cnn.com/2012/01/23/jewish-newspapers-editor-resigns-over-obama-assassination-column/
Kennedy and Obama share one quality that a president should have - class. In the sense that being respectful, accepting responsibility, graciousness, inner strength, genuiness and confidence in yourself. These qualities were totally missing from Dubbya, one of the worst representations of a president we've ever had. The "class" quality can be tied in with wealth, but in Obama's case, it is not. Maybe that is why he is so respected in the world but not appreciated at home. Mr. Obama represents the United States of America well. I think he should stick around for awhile.
...class????...class???!!!...omg...I'd hate to think what you believe is class when your bankrupt neighbor is given a bailout and you're not...only because you're not friends with those handing out the bailout...or, you're not a union-supporter...or you're not capable as a small-business owner to be in the same 'league' as the folks benefitting from the bailout with absolutely no proven capability and you do have that capabilty for achieving a profitable company that was grown out of your own guts & determination and stick-to-it attitude..although you have done that with out any gifting to anyone in a position of political power...class my butt...his 'change' is all about lining his own future and pocket with the same said change...and that is evident daily, weekly, and since he's disregarded every single campaign promise made...much worse that those before him..whomever they were...
Agree Jack K. I approve of our cool, calm, unflappable urbane President. Can't take those right wing knee jerk reactionaries.
What's so bad about Lyndon B. Johnson?
As usual we have got off the pointod this article ... anyway...I have to agree that while no one is perfect -- not JFK or Obama -- I still feel (for the most part) they were more sincere in their goals than some of our other Presidents (before or since --in the case of JFK). I don't agree with evertything that President Obama has done --but feel that he has made a effort in the best interest of the vast majority of American s -- not just the richest or most powerful or the largest international business interested. I can not keep from wonferign how more better do not see that with the possibe exception of one -- all the GOp canidates are very rich man --who do not really speak for the best interest of the middle-class" --but instead are onlt interested in gaining more power and money (and less taxes0 for themselves and people like themselves. And for those who say that giving tax break to the richest andbig business is going to "create jobs' -- i said -- we have already tried that policy for over a decade now --and where are the jobs?
The Kennedy assassination for starters.
Your Dumbama is not respected anywhere. He is the laughing stock of the entire world!!!!!!!!! And a whiney butt kiss a** to boot. Everything he has said is a lie and all he has done is crooked and devious and un-American. He is only in office because he played the race card,......when he is not even black.....he is muslim.......and because his George Soros BOUGHT the election to the tune of over one BILLION dollars. EVERY policy he has put forth has failed because it is all a scam. His czars and his million man private army are his means to overthrow the legitimate government of the US when the real military will not obey his orders. If he is not stopped in this next election, even Russia will be a better place to live than America. Time to open your eyes and stop sipping the Koolaid.
Whoa, Walter - time to get a refill on your prescriptions....
Walter,
Black is a race, Muslim is a religion. Go back to school and learn the difference, and while you are at it, after school stop in at your church and ask your Creator to get rid of the hate that you so clearly have!
walter, time to take your meds and nap
Really are you kidding me
AYFKM, put down the crack pipe! talking to you jack
@Walter: I think your mommy better change your diapper...baby way too cranky. Why do some think it is best to attack things they do not understand. After a nice nappy you will feel better...nighty night walty
Walter. You are one dam*arsed Republican Imbecile. You and your ilk, esp. the new breed of Libertarian-Republicans, need a Lobotomy really bad. The Pills aren't working anymore.
I have no doubt in my mind that if there are many more out there with attitudes similiar to Walter's i'd be reluctant to learn what he considers to be rational thinking. I'm also concerned when people fear things they don't understand fully and choose to attack it simply because it differs from them. In relation to this it makes me think that if aliens actually do exist, have peaceful intentions, and are capable of traveling to our galaxy it may be a bad choice for them to visit us now. I'd be willing to bet there are some in society that would oppress, terrorize, and possibly even kill different life forms simply cause they may talk, act, and look differently than we do. I guess what i'm getting at is that how can we as a species at this point in time get along with an entire alien race, when we can't even get along with each other?
Let the man rest in peace. A dead man cannot speak for himself. The last tapes are what they are, and on any given day we often change our minds and hearts.
This nation needs a "Healing Balm," badly!
Adwoods,
This nation needs a "Healing Balm," badly!
No, it needs a purge of the evil that killed Kennedy. That might require something more along the lines of surgery than simply a balm. At this point in the game it would be more akin to trying to eliminate a final stage cancer with radical surgery because this cancer has had time to grow and every office of our three branches of government now has malignent tumors. I live in Peru now, but if you guys don't survive the operation I'll be sure and send some dead roses.
We didn't listen to the honorable man Ike, we killed the next one that tried to save us, now what?
Don't worry, little beady eyed Rove will give you another fearless leader, and you can go back to playing your video games.
Is your balm like the Astroglide Reid and Pellosi used to shove the health care bill up the american publics butt?
LBJ wanted to be president so bad...he orhestrated Kennedy's assasination !!!!!! enough said
dearls,
No, his slime was just the grease that let it happen.
Alsophia,
Tell it like it is, dude!
I bet most important issues were erase from those Tapes.
Days before his assasination, President Kennedy says.
( There's is a PLOT on this Country, to enslave every man, women & Child. Before I live this high & nolbe office, I intend to expose this Plot ).
Then he was kill couple days after that.
Finally somebody is starting to get the message. Don't know what good it will do, the political structure is to well entrenched with the "cancer" (as mentioned above) but the more people realize the truth about where we are heading, the more those directing us will subvert or hide their intentions. Do some research, WHO FOUNDED THE FEDERAL RESERVE BANK OR CENTRAL BANK ?? Check out the names of the founders. Then tell me who and how and where (etc) politics are directed from.
Yep and our fine president with the help of John mcCain and some other progressives just signed executive orders in the NDAA 2012 bill that allows the US to label any American as a terrorist and hold them without due process for as long as the government pleases - furthermore, it has a provision that allows the US military to engage in police actions on US soil. - what happened to our Bill of Rights - according to Pres Obama that bill of rights goes way to far in limiting the governments powers - here we go
@Kirk: So what are you saying? It was OK for "W" to carry out the same kind of policies -- but it is wrong for Presient Obama to do anything like it --yet attack him for being 'soft" on teerisitism/ -- How can you have it both ways? --and if I recall correctly -- was it not John Mccann who was running againist Obama in 2008? What exactly are you trying to imply??/
I can hear the Kennedy haters grinding up their gears for this article.
JFK was a great President. May he rest in peace. Do not compare him to what we have in office now
I'd take him as president over what we have had for the last 12 years.
I think he was a better man than his wife was a women after reading her recordings after his death.
As far as Marilyn it was the creep Robert not with JFK.
...actually both of them tagged her. But, what man wouldn't. It only goes to show that he was in touch with reality. He was still a president for the people.
@Jack Hammer -3801367-How in the world do you know? Were you there in the room as each brother had his way with her? All we've ever heard over the years is a lot of rumor and innuendo, nothing more, nothing less! And, before anybody mentions J.Edgar Hoover and his cronies and the so-called information they he was able to obtain by placing "plants" all over the country, how much of that mess has been proven correct? From everything that we now know about Hoover, he was quite dubious to say the least in all of his dealings. As an aside, I would like to believe that there are still some men who would not bed every woman that he thought he could.
Not to many people would ever find out what the plot was and is all about it , media will never expose it , it takes hours of research to get to the bottom . Is real and very serious , we have instead gossip about so called "stars " , some bold stories with the thick cover up ....is brain washing . Details about important issues are twisted and full of lies , to much for freedom of speech ....
"Swear words"? Was this written by a 12-year-old?
No Wilmer, it was written to be READ by 12 year olds. Are you disappointed? Did you want them to print the actual words? If so..why? The point is that he spoke frankly and used strong lanuage in his office. Just as others have and still might. --
Wow!...and we cant even see Obama's college scores!...: O
I've only recently started seeing people demanding to see Obama's college transcripts. Is this some new right-wing issue? What are they claiming is hidden away in there? That he didn't really graduate magna cum laude, or what?
Arnold, they are now requesting to see them because they think we are not still interested in georgie's c- average! lol, actually i'd like to see the president release them just to watch rove choke on his morning coffee, bet he made better grades than georgie - one thing for sure, he got into college on his scores, not his daddy's coat tails like georgie did. And I'd like to see a lot about georgie jr and sr that has been covered up and hidden, like they'd really show us the scores for either bush, or for that matter even jeb and he is probably the smart one.
Well, it looks to me like since the birth certificate issue did not work this is the next thing to fantisize about. they just can't find any dirt on him and it galls them no end.
Kathryn, that sounds about right to me. There are legitimate things to criticize about Obama, but trying to attack his academic record seems not only incredibly lame, but pointless. Academics is his strong suit.
It's like trying to attack the first president George Bush (AKA the Good One) on his pre-presidency foreign policy experience, or Bill Clinton on his political skills.
ATFMAN at least President Obama went to college and didn't quit in the 7th grade like you. President Kennedy was a good man but did have problems with the Washington inside crowd kind of like Obama is having. I can remember the day President Kennedy died and it rained and the country was in shock. President Kennedy should have never gone to Dallas and was even told that he was in danger because them brush poppers are real rednecks. John Connelly who was governor of Texas at the time was with President Kennedy when both of them got shot. President Kennedy wanted to get out of Vietnam and that is why he was killed and not by Lee Oswald either but hired guns from the military industrial complex in Texas.
I think we have all heard or read about the various stories of who really killed JFK. I too have read much about some of these with interest and saw Oliver Stone's "JFK".. There are things to support or refute most every theory -- but now almost 50 years later, no "creditable' evidenct exist other than the "Osward/lone gunman' "Offical" story. if there was any evident to support other theories --it has long along lost. We can debate it here yet again -- if you want.. but nothing new can be achieved.
I wonder if Executive Order 11110 is still legal and valid?
I have, since the day of his assasination, felt that America had suffered a coup but that the public was too naive and gullible to have seen it. History has proven me right, it seems. I also feel that 9/11 was a false flag for the sole purpose of locking in the changes this group that offed the Kennedys had started. Don't tell me these people would never do such a thing. They killed one of our best presidents and walked away scott free and smiling. They have had no problem killing untold thousands, maybe if the whole count were taken millions, of innocent lives in their wars after wars. And now, thanks to the Patriot Act they can stomp their bootheels on anyone's neck they feel necessary. A few cases here and there will always go unnoticed by the greater public who only cares about their own little cubicle with digital pleasures. What kind of world are we creating here?
Kennedy was trying to get the loanshark fed off our throats and was trying to get their bullyboy the military/industrial complex back into line. If ever our culture had a martyr it would be JFK.
Ask your self these questions: What was the political foundation of young George Bush at the tiome od his election and just before '911'?
Who were people connected with 'young George' that might have been in a position to know that the 'Air Defense System might be down on certain days?
Who were people connected with 'young George' that might have known foreign persons of questionable character in regards to US National Security?
Whos father was 'George Senior' in business with (gun manufacturing and military weapons) ?
If you can answer these questions, what possibilities does it leave open and, did 911 give 'George Jr' a platform to stand on ?
These questions and researched answers have plagued my mind .... Having said all this, maybe I'm now next on the list to be removed, free speech can be a dangerous thing to ones health.
Chris Miller - you are correct and I totally agree with you, 911 was a set up because georgie jr was already failing miserabally, the gop knew they made a fatal error not electing McCain as their nominee and somehow had to make sure he was not a one term president. By all means, 911 was an inside job, kind of like the Bobby Kennedy thing - nixon may not have directly ordered the hit, but make no mistake about it, he was not about to loose to another Kennedy and all he would have had to have said would be something to that effect and wham, an unknow takes out the person who would have definately defeated nixon.
I agree with all of you and look at the bill pres Obama signed - NDAA 2012 - google it and this is a result of 9/11 - but hold on if the US acts now on Iran - we get a newly designed quasi - military style police force. It is a shame that we as Americans have allowed this to happen to us and our children.
WOW
And do these people actually vote? It is amazing to see such outright fantasy thinking spewed as if it is reality. One has to wonder where these delusions come from. Not a shred of evidence to back anything you three have said, yet in your minds it is crystal clear. I hope these delusion don't affect your other functions in life.
I guess based on your thinking, anyone now elected to be president is part of the set up and are mere puppets of some unseen group that is controlling the world, right? So you must not be voting any more because any choice you make is simply a set up for the behind the scenes powers to pull their strings. Or do all three of you write in yourselves on the ballot?
KingK - do some research - why does the government feel the need to have a right to label any American as a terrorist and once labeled, that American or Americans are denied due process? Why is that? Just do some research and put down the remote control every now and then - open your eyes and look around as an American is it your responsibility
Kirk
One does not add up to the other. If you want to back up any of the fantasy talk posted above with legitimate facts, I'm sure everyone will be glad to read it. BTW, we still have a Constitution and the fears about a piece of legislation, that is unconstitutional , are overblown. The court is still there to protect your rights and you still have the ability to vote out those members of the House and Senate (and the President) that put the Patriot Act and other legislation you object to in place. But spewing out delusional fantasy talk about 9/11 and the Kennedy assassination is not going to win over very many voters to your point of view on other legitimate concerns you may have. No one likes to side with a crack pot, even when the crack pot occasionally has a valid point.
King,
Please step forward and explain to us how nano-thermite was found in all three collapsed buildings. That's the evidence that convinced me (only the icing on the cake to me). Funny how this american dream can keep people asleep.
Backing up fantasy talk? If the link goes through here's something that might interest you. Only if you are willing to wake up, that is.

It is not so much the free speech part that is dangerous to your health Chris, it is the outing of the lies and showing what may be the truth that is dangerous. Those in power will do whatever it takes to keep and expand that power, regardless of the damage to the country or how many lives have to be lost. No deed is too dirty for those in power and wanting even more.
An enlightened or inquisitive public is not in the best interests of those who would be king. That is one of the biggest reasons for trying to tear down or discredit any institution of higher education, to make it easier to fool/control the masses. We are left with far too many cowards in this country, who are afraid of doing any rational thinking, lest they piss off the power mongers.
Our epitaph is almost finished being wrote. It used to be a great country to to live in, and show the world what they could aspire to be. Now we are almost to the point of being a footnote in history, with the greed and corruption rotting this country from the inside out. Hopefully there are enough brave patriots left to throw both parties and their rich elitist puppet masters to the darkest recesses of whatever may pass for hell.
Alsophia,
Very very interesting link you posted. That guy had no dog in the fight. His conclusions highlight something very sinister that has taken hold of this nation. I know it would be more comfortable for the short term to just ignore all this stuff, but some day, sooner or later, the devil wants his pay.
So JFK had his faults just shows he was human - But he was a leader not like what we have today, I'm not a Lib, but I do respect the man and what he tiried to do while he was in office, JFK didn't set out to run the country into the ground, he actually worked with congress, both parties. Not like today where it's my way or the highway. When people shows some much hate towards the man and I think for no reason- I would rather have JFK as a friend then any of the scum thats running around Washington now, Oh! I don't hate Obama I just don't like him, big difference.
Kennedy was elected by money spent by his father, a smuggler, and the mob who owed the old Kennedy a favor. When RFK stepped on the feet of the Mob they whacked JFK. Christ, the man was sleeping with Sam Giancanna's mistress. All of the fools elected to president look better to their followers after a number of years go bye. They all became president to salve their ego's, not to save or build the country.
The whole family were all crooks in fine suites. But that part of yuppie America had a love infatuation with them. Self labeled blue blood . Camelot my ass.
Hey mountain, you have your head up your a$$
montainbike - I think you are referring to the bush family, right? Then your accusations would be more correct.
Hey Tom, and Bush's grandfather was in cahoots with Nazi Germany. It's public record.
Skull & Bones.... Illuminati.... that's as far down the Rabbit-Hole i will go.... Ciao
Union baby, yes definitely Bush Family. I hate all politicians.
And Mata Harry, You must be one of the Yuppies i spoke of . Left wing liberal.
In 50 years we'll be listening to tapes of figurehead presidents like G.W and possibly Romney with their staff doing all the talking and them responding back with their standard stock answer " ..Just tell me where you need me to put my signiture so I can go to lunch"
The idiots continue to believe that the mob elected JFK. They know no history. Kennedy and his brother went after the mob in the 1950's and 60's. They did not need the mob to influence the unions in the 1960 election, idiots. The unions would not have voted for Nixon.
As for smuggling, there is absolutely no evidence that old man Kennedy smuggled booze. Studies have been conducted to prove that he did and there is nothing there. I challenge anyone to find any proof that he did. Of course, the conspiracy nuts will tell us that evidence was destroyed. They are idiots, pure and simple.
How did the Kennedy Family acquire such Wealth? Joe Kennedy's net worth, was around $500 Million at the height of the Great Depression.... according to Factual History, how did Joe Sr., acquire the majority of his Fortune? So let me make sure, I fully comprehend your statements... Joe Kennedy Sr. acquired "Zilch" of his Fortune, directly attributed to Prohibition?? Ciao
You need to read some real history.
Leapfrog, I specifically stated that there is absolutely no evidence that he smuggled liquor during Prohibition. Provide proof that he did. Where were his distribution points? Warehouses? Evidence please.
I am not implying that Joe Sr. was a Smuggler... he had people such as Luciano, etc..etc... for those purposes.. It is historical fact, that Joe Sr. was photographed upon many occasions, (on a Yacht) with known Mobsters.... just saying.. "Birds of a Feather" Ciao
Leapfrog, I have done much research regarding the Kennedy family; however, I am not familiar with Joe, Sr. photographed with mobsters on his yacht. I will certainly look into it. But you've got to do a little research on his early life in banking and the stock market to understand where the family got its wealth. In fact, Joe, Sr.'s father was a wealthy man.
Mata... Are you aware of the statement, that Joe Sr. made to the Press, concerning "pulling his investments OUT" of Wall Street, just prior to the Crash?? His answer involves a "Shoe-Shine Boy".... that gave him a "Shine", if memory serves me right, on the day before the Crash.... this statement is laughable... No way, it could have been inside information, from his Criminal Bankster Reserve Friends....... lol... Ciao
I have not researched the "Kennedy Family" prior to Joe Sr. I am aware that he was heavily leveraged in the Stock Market, but i have no knowledge of Joe Sr's Father... I am aware, that Joe Jr. was the first Kennedy, that Papa Joe had ear-marked, for the Presidency... unfortunately, Joe Jr. was a Military Pilot and was shot-down and killed.... otherwise, prior to Joe Sr., i am not versed upon their Family History.... Ciao
Joe, Sr. did have inside information. No doubt about it. He also owned a tremendous amount of real estate and by that time, was involved with movie studios which provided him with even more wealth. And he was lucky enough to put his arms around Gloria Swanson!
It's jerks like you that think they are always right and you think only your opinion matters. Why is it that a small person like you has to call people names. I think you have some serious mental issues that you should go get help for you left wing nut. Mata Harry.
If any of the people commenting here have personal knowledge and proof of the indescretions they are accusing Kennedy of I wish they would go to the press. I was in Dallas when he was killed. The entire world mourned his passing He stood down the Russians militarily a long time before Reagan got credit by spending money and giving a speech. He gave us hope and confidence that we have not had out of the white house since his passing. Republicans gave us Nixon. I have noticed that many in the capital talk very tough but never wore a uniform or saw action like he did. I am an independent but I get tired of all these accusations about Kennedy that come from people who were not there and have no personal knowledge of him and very little else for that matter.
I am from Texas and was living in West Fort Worth on that day........we in Texas were terrified something was going to happen to Kennedy during his trip there.......given the amount of hate for JFK that had been generated by The John Birch Society and Gen Walker. I was a young mother at the time and it has colored my entire political choices since. You talk hate and I will work against you.
Ditto Ms. Kathryn.... Ditto!!!!... i was a young Lad, living just north of Waco, during this very sad time in History... even though, this Sad Day will forever be etched in my mind.... Hopefully, one day the American People will learn of the Real Truth..... Ciao
