Two Chicago police officers, allegedly thinking they were stealing more than $5,000 in cash from a drug courier, were arrested after it turned out they were being tracked in an undercover sting.
Sgt. Ronald Watts, 48, and Officer Kallat Mohammed, 47, were arrested Sunday night on federal charges alleging they stole $5,200 in government undercover funds on Nov. 21 from a homeless man who claimed to be a drug courier but was working as an FBI informant, reported NBCChicago.com.
The informant had a criminal record, and had been arrested by the officers before, according to a federal criminal complaint unsealed Monday. He wore a wire when he met up with the officers in November.
According to the complaint, Watts and Mohammed, who have worked for the Chicago Police Department for 18 and 14 years, respectively, had told the informant to alert them whenever a drug money transport was in progress. Three days before the Nov. 21 incident, in a conversation that was wiretapped, the informant told Watts where he could come pick it up, CBS2 in Chicago reported. Watts allegedly then arranged for Mohammed to intercept the money, reported CBS2.
When Mohammed came to pick up the bag from the informant, it contained the cash and a court-authorized tracking device, according to the criminal complaint. Video surveillance then purportedly showed the informant asking Watts for a cut, and Watt allegedly handing over $400 for tipping them off.
"Who always takes care of you?" Watts allegedly asked as he handed the homeless man the money.
"You do, Watts," the informant responded, according to the complaint.

If convicted, Watts and Mohammed could face up to 10 years of prison and a fine of $250,000, said the Chicago division of the FBI.
They were released on $10,000 bond each after appearing in federal court Monday, and are scheduled for a status hearing on Feb. 21, NBCChicago.com reported.
Calls from msnbc.com to the Chicago division of the FBI were not immediately returned.

lol as it eventually comes out these sob's will eat each other
Typical Chicago corruption. They were in a union and they were democrats.
Chicago City Government is a fish that stinks from the head down. Always has.
The police in chicago are the same as the politicians in chicago - corrupt. Been that way since the late 19th century.
On what planet are you living?? EVERY poll (and there have been many) show that that vast of majority of police (including in Chicago) vote Republican.
Now if we could get the republican bankers who stole $billions.
Most bankers in New York are probably democrats, but it doesn't really matter, corruption isn't the pervue of just one party and party affiliation with the elite is nothing more than an association that they will use to benefit themselves as they see fit.
STAND-BY for this house of cards to fold!
I would bet we will see 1-2 dead-bodies out of this mess.
Actually, the whole state of Illinois seems to be the corruption capital of the U.S.
Firstly, it's funny (not funny haha) how it took ONE reply to turn this political. We are really doomed as a nation.
Secondly, if you think this is an R vs D issue, get your head out of your arse. Cops, in general, have turned into corrupt, jack-booted, profit-making, lapdogs of the state. If you think they are there to "serve and protect" you, you are a very naive individual.
For the odd good cop out there who is offended by my statements: do something about changing that perception or STFU. How about you stop raping the law-abiding citizen and clean up your departments and REAL criminals (yeah, I know that sounds redundant).
They got caught this time, but I wonder how many times they got away with it ??
What planet are YOU living on? There is no republican party in Illinois, only democrats running as democrats and democrats running as republicans. It has been a one party system since before Capone.
These Chicago cops ain't nothing compared to the LAPD's corruptions or several other Southern California cities.
In Los Angeles' Rampart Precinct, several cops shot, brutalized, extort, and recruited drug handlers. They also committed perjury in court to put-away those whom the cops arrested and disliked for various reasons. The stupid pro-cops judges, whose election and or appointment were facilitated by heavy political influence or funding by the police unions, sentenced several dozens of innocent people to jail. In a another famous ploy, a gang of LAPD from the Hollywood Division tripped burglar alarms of video stores. They would then dispatch themselves to the crime scene where they would help themselves to all the electronic loots which they later reported as stolen. The corruption within LAPD is kept away from the view of the average citizen and from Federal and State prosecution by the Internal Investigation Division, the cover-up unit of the LAPD that white-wash the evil doings of the cops. Naturally, the Police Unions also protects its members through issuance of propaganda and out-right deception.
Police Chief Adam of Bell conspired with the evil City Manager and Assistance Manager to 'earn' $475,000 / year salary, a salary twice that of the State Governor. While the City and Assistant Managers are being prosecuted, Police Chief Adams is allowed to escaped.
Southern California is similar to other metro area such as Chicago having one of the highest crime rates and corrupt policemen. The difference in Southern California is that the people in law enforcement are immune from prosecution because they are protected by the political system.
My oh my.......
I would say "Only in Chicago" but that would be in err.
They will probably be suspended with pay, and then allowed to retire with a full pension. Seems to be the way things work, not only in Chicago, but everywhere.
Crooked cops in Chicago. Snow in the winter. Both are to expected. Nothing to see here folks. Move along. Move along.
Corrupt cops. A lot of them in Mississippi and Louisiana too. It begs the question though, how long can you look at the darkest parts of humanity before giving in to your own inner darkness?
I am well aware of the corruption of the entire police department in my town. As an example, last week the entire police department (which consists of one officer) was seen exceeding the speed limit by 3 miles per hour, during rush hour. This brazen law breaking out in the open shows the level of defiance and arrogance he has. I tried to take a photo of him doing this in the act, but unfortunately in the photo it looks as though he is parked on the roadway. I don't know how he was able to manipulate my photo, but I will not rest until he is brought to justice.
Gary - your comment is totally out of nowhere. I know quite a few cops and not a single one is a Democrat. Where do you get your information? I see you just make stuff up.
to serve and protect more like in slave and punish
Times are hard for everybody, the recession, kids in school, medical bills and taking care of older parents. A cops got to steal where he can, at least they weren't (intending on) taking money from the taxpayer like the politicians.
What else would you expect from obumboland??
In the immortal words of Gomer Pyle: "Surprise, surprise, surprise".
I was born and raised in Chicago; trust me, this comes as no surprise to anyone with a pulse.
Has it crossed anyones minds that if drugs were legalized, this wouldnt be happening?
I dont know how many cops are stealing cash from booze bootleggers, but I think since we ended prohibition...it's been a pretty low number.
We could take the resources we currently spend on the "war on drugs" and instead, focus our effort on rooting out corrupt police officers that tarnish the image of good police officers.
We could also take the money raised via taxing drugs, and offer assistance to those seeking to overcome their addictions and habits...
but we dont do things logically, we do things backassward so the worst possible outcome is always ensured.
Good for the FBI. Now they need to focus on politicians. By the way, corruption isn't partisan - there are plenty of corrupt Dems and Reps. Read "Throw them all out" for lots of examples in both parties.
@TuraNaEl, Where do you get your information? Chicago is run by the Democrats, downstate is more Republican. I say total BS that cops are voting Republican in Chicago. The last two Governors have been Democrat and the state continues to go deeper in debt thanks to them. Blago cost Illinois a hell of a lot of money on the circus that was his trial. Gov. Quinn has raised taxes by stunning amounts and Emanuel is the freaking mayor of Chicago. All Democrats.
Are you talking about that one banker who was in the news a while back who lost over a billion dollars? Oooppps! That guy wasn't just a banker, he was also an ex-senator and a Democrat. Even Mr. Obama passed bills that bettered his personal investments, Hilary had Whitewater. But that doesn't mean the Rebublicans are free from corruption either, we all know how CEO Chaney supported his country, er, company in these wars.
BOOk em Danno !!...ah ha haa haaa..........
"but we dont do things logically, we do things backassward so the worst possible outcome is always ensured."
Jessica: It has nothing to do with being "logical" or "illogical".
Always, follow the money.
I'm from Michigan and there are a lot of Crooked Cops there, other than Detroit.
Does it strike anyone else as odd that when this type of thing happens in Illinois, it's always Federal, and never State charges that get filed? Isn't corruption a violation of state law? Apparently not. My theory is that no-one who has lived in Illinois long enough to have a cup of coffee can even recognize a corrupt act because there are no legal acts to compare it to. It takes someone from outside to point it out. Gotta get the hell outta here!
Just two caught of the thousands of city, county, state and federal peace officers engaging in business as usual on a daily basis.
End the war on drugs and this scenario, along with so many other scenarios stops.
It's pretty sad that you can't even depend on your local police.....most of these guys are in their 20's and 30's...weren't they taught by their parents about responsibility, honesty, integrity, etc.? Where has all that gone with our younger generation? It's all me, me, me, and how much can I get away with! Most older police officers would NEVER stoop to the level of stealing from drug dealers no matter HOW much it seems easy to do. We were taught by our parents how to act decently, honestly, and with total integrity....something lost on the newer generation! It's a sad day!
What a shocker, corruption is in the Chicago government's blood.
You people think this don't happen in every big city, not this kind of corruption in the little city but still happens. But it happens when you get power over less fortunate people!!
Look at the big banks, corporations, and the best is always the politicians. Why can't the cop get on the big money like them.
@Jessica:
Well, with that mentality, why don't we make EVERY illegal activity legal? Then NOTHING could ever go wrong, right? Criminals will just go down to Wal-Mart and get a job selling popcorn and potato chips.
Jessica, they may eventually legalize pot but I can't see them ever legalizing coke, crack, meth or heroin. So there will always be drug money floating around somewhere. If the cops hadn't been crooked this also wouldn't have happened. Unfortunately there is no honesty test they can give to potential cops or any other potential employee. I have no doubt the cops thought they weren't hurting anyone by taking the money but that doesn't make it right. I have no idea what drug money is used for once it is collected so I don't know who or what they hurt.
It was Chicago - consider it a 'campaign contribution', and it's OK.
Corruption in Chicago is nothing like corruption in New Orleans. New Orleans has always been that way even before, during, and after Katrina. What both have in common are they are ruled by Democrats. Now I know where Obama was taught his politics. He is just as corrupt and devious as those cops. All Politicians are.
Didi: This was not a case of young 20 year olds stealing money. One cop had 18 years and the other 14 years.
You can pretty much figure by the cop's statement, "who always takes care of your" that this is far from the first time this has happened. These kind of cops in the big urban areas rake in quite the second "income".
I just can't believe it!!! NOT in Chicago. Maybe New York and LA, but not Chicago!! Maybe in small town America, but not Chicago!!! :o ))
Don't these aholes watch TV. There must have been at least a dozen or so that have aired in the last 5 to 10 years based on the same scam!!!
Not restoring many comments. Let's not turn this into a political discussion.
Hey it's Chicago what do you expect the most corrupt city in the USA. Our fine President came from there and look at what its doing to our nation.
I think the political affiliation of the cops in question is irrelevant. It's just another BS factor that people feel the need to throw out there to justify their own political stance. There is rampant corruption on BOTH sides of the aisles, and anyone who thinks otherwise is either delusional, deceived, deceptive or simply a fool. Seriously people, can't you see that the whole left/right paradigm was designed to keep all of us divided, bickering and weak?
As far as these two fellows are concerned though... I have said it many times, if the average Joe Citizen is punished more harshly for crimes committed upon a law enforcement officer, it should go the other way as well, that when a law enforcement officer breaks the law, his punishment should be more harsh than if a regular citizen had committed the same crime.
Police are given immense power and with that power, they are also given the public trust. When that power is abused and that trust is betrayed, the penalties for doing so should be mind-boggling. If an officer knows that getting caught assaulting a person or stealing would mean double or triple the sentence for him than would a regular Joe Schmoe, then perhaps we'd start to see officers keeping themselves a bit more in check.
I bet ya the Cops where either Tea party members or Republicans, Always taking someone elses money, and then crying foul when caught
I would wager you are incorrect. I doubt you were ever a member of anything, certainly not any conservative organization.
My, my Chicago cops stealing drug money. In Chicago. How surprising to see such corruption coming from people employed by a city with a serious history of corruption. Corruption and politics are generally good bedfellows. Corrupt politicans running a city often encourages city employees to become corrupt. The miracles are those who avoid becoming corrupt in a cesspool. I could use the word corrupt again but that would be redundant'
I voted for him, but we should remember that we have a smooth-talking Chicago Pol in the White House now.
I think that's why he instructed the DOJ not to touch the banksters. And it's why he only has 10 FBI agents investigating it after 3 years in office, and only added those a couple of weeks ago. Bill Black had over 1,000 FBI agents to investigate something less than 1/10th the size.
Is the FBI crazy, they can’t do this? If they arrest all the corrupt cops in Chicago the only ones left will be th criminals
The comments here show why we are in trouble as a nation. Bigoted and divorced from reality. It is truly sad. Can't even have a discussion about Chicago without the totally unfounded vitriol. (As if Chicago were fundamentally different from any large city in the US). I feel sorry and ashamed for us.
The problem (and the shame) is ... Chicago is not any different from anyother city, town, village or Metro area. But, weh all share the illusion that it hasn't changed from the Cops we saw on Dragnet, Highway Patrol or pre- Client Eastwood movies. We live in "Die hard" and "Training day" times ... but we expect to be treated with civility, especially when we are the victm of crime - not treated as a suspect when asking for assistance.
I'm not sure why this is illegal for Chicago policemen when everyone above them all the way to the and through our political system does basically the same thing and gets away with it. It's Chicago politics so these guys are only emulating what they see happening above them.
ScoMata1964 said: "What planet are YOU living on? There is no republican party in Illinois, only democrats running as democrats and democrats running as republicans. It has been a one party system since before Capone."
You clearly know nothing about Illinois politics, so should speak about what you don't know. First, you appear to be confusing Illinois with Chicago. Once you get outside of Chicago, both the suburbs of Chicago and almost all of what is usually called "downstate" (which pretty much refers to anything outside of Chicago and its suburbs) are majority Republican and majority conservative. That's why so many Republicans get elected governor of Illinois even though Chicago is almost entirely Democratic. The Republicans ouside of Chicago would be very surprised (and insulted I'm sure) to find that even though they can be just as radically right-wing and just as nuttily tea-party as the best of them, you would lump them together with Democrats. Unfortunately, they probably would not insulted enough to actually stop voting Republican. Second, if you knew anything about Chicago politics, you would know that even in Chicago, Republicans are just as Republican as anywhere else - but to get ANYTHING of what they want, since they have to deal with a city where the vast majority of aldermen are Democrats, they either compromise or don't get anything at all - making LOOK less republican. But, if they behaved like YOU brilliantly would, they'd get nothing through at all (I WISH they were more like you!)
They have glommed onto the rules of feeding at the Public trough... wait your turn.
Small pigs are likely to get to be crushed when they get in the way of the Big Boars and sows... at feeding time. The big money was paying for protection and these little pigs were an irriitation. Can't kill'em, like they do free lancers - so they let the FBI clean it up for them.... no big deal and everyone comes out smelling like a rose.
From my experiences, for every 100 police officers, you might find 5-7 good ones. Most cops these days just want to arrest you and move on. Its like a quota system. They don't even care what you have to say. They no longer do much field work. They like to play judge & jury from what others tell them. I had a car stolen and totaled. The local boys saw my past DUI and currently suspended license and said not going to do a stolen report. When I asked why, they had 2 reasons. 1. Highly unlikely they would catch the person/no funds budgeted for car theft. 2. I don't have a license, so it could have been me that wrecked it and then left the scene. I asked if they had witnesses. No, don't need them. You have a suspended license. So that makes me guilty of wrecking my own car? I offered them to come over and do an inspection on me to see if I'd been in a wreck. They wouldn't. Judge & jury had convicted me by cell phone. They just don't care about people.
Holy crap batman! How about sticking to the subject instead of turning it political? Are you all that narrow minded that you are trying to enforce your agenda upon others or are you not bright enough to say something that actually pertains to the story? Take a breath, reread the story and make a comment that would add some value to the thread. I am amazed at how some of you dive into the shallow end of finger pointing and then blame the others for banging your head on the bottom.
Read a book, get educated and stay on topic. Holy goodness.
Now to the story....I am sure there will be many prisoners that will be looking forward to these cops coming into their prison...I am sure the cops have taken money and drugs from more than one "guy on the street". I cant even say good luck to these cops, it would be the reverse because they make the other police out there that actually try to do the right thing and enforce the laws and give them a bad name. shame shame
Anyone who thinks this corruption thing is party-specific, the con-men have a name for you: mark. So one puts one's trust in a Republican because Democrats are corrupt and untrustworthy? Well, there's a sucker born every minute, and you happened to come along at the right time. P.T. Barnum would have had a field day with you. You think all Democrats are trustworthy? How naive!
You think most cops are honest? Forget it. Hypocrisy is a way of life for the vast majority of cops. Do you think that because a cop knows his brother in law is a bookie, that he's going to arrest him or turn him in? Of course not. He gets a pass. If he catches his kid with a bag of pot, are there legal troubles? The answer is obvious. If you have a little procedural rights problem with a case, the solution presents itself readily, lie under oath and make sure your arrestee gets convicted. If a friend or family member gets in trouble, ask for, or call in, a favor.
Then, once these little deviations from the oath become fully commonplace and rationalized, well, what's the difference if they take a little drug money? After all, the pay for the job isn't adequate and what do the bosses expect, for a guy to raise his family on 50 or 60K per year? If you don't supplement, how are you going to pay for the kids summer camp?
Repubs, Dems, it's all the same. The drug trade is a tool for the cops. It funds half the PD budgets from seizures and that's the part that's over the counter. Drug prohibition laws breed corruption like rabbits breed bunnies. The really good cops and FBI agents are kept out of the drug divisions because the bosses know that the temptations are nearly irresistible, and it won't be long before the unmarked envelopes and brown bags of cash will start to be collected.
Then there is the CIA, which uses the drug trade as a cash cow and breeding ground for intelligence gathering. Sometimes they even get right in there and help. Walid Karzai, who was heavily involved in heroin traffic, was on the CIA payroll for years before he was killed. Some drug dealers get on the most wanted list and some get on the personnel list. When it comes to law enforcement, the emphasis is on neither law nor enforcement. That's just the way of the world and corrupt humans, whether it's the third world or the first world, this poltical party or that. I guess I'm in a cynical mood. Or in the mood for truth telling.
FatCat: You're right on the nail, dude! I've had experiences with the New Orleans, Miami, New York, D.C., and many others that were as dirty as a loaded diaper. When it comes to the LAPD in Hollenbeck, Rampart and Hollyweird Divisions in being dirty they are the sewage treatment plant! Riverside County and San Bern County Sheriffs are close behind too. You got it right!! Chicago has got nothing on So-Cal Cops! Nothing!! Lived there to know it. Down here along the Arizona-Mexighanistan border we got the Neo-Nasties Pinal County Sheriff's, the Santa Cruz County and the dirtiest in the TOPs (Tohono O-o'dam Police) doing the same except they operate as rip-crews robbing dope going north and dough going south, or transport dope or dough in Department vehicles. Once in a long time a BPer gets busted as do the Army guys in Sierra Vista moving product for the Narcos using Gov't vehicles, On foot, who knows!Down here in the Narco-lands you can't trust the cops except the Arizona Highway Patrol, Pima Sheriff's Office and the Tucson Police Department. These three departments show no mercy to crooked cops! None!
Didi- What are you talking about? Read the article before you go bashing the younger generation. Those two officers were 48 and 47 years old, and based on your response, I'm going to assume that's a little bit closer to your age. Not all of our problems are caused by my (the younger) generation you're talking about. There are just as many immoral idiots out there in your age bracket.
The FBIs first lead in the case were the Obama bumper stickers on the cops patrol cars.
There is undercover video of it if you go to youtube and search customneonshirts
Sorry but I'm not ready to condemn most cops. I've met more likeable cops then not so likeable. Right now you're looking at two cops out of how many? Maybe if they started writing stories of good things cops did you wouldn't be so judgmental.
Didi-
Not only are these cops not part of the "younger generation", being in the force 18 & 14 years, but there have ALWAYS been corrupt cops...
Comment # 1.28 deleted, death wishing and trolling all cops.
Frank From St Joe, you are suspended for a day for violating rule # 5 of the Code of Honor.
To be a police office or fireman you have to live in the area you work. This gives the politicians the ability to know how you vote. Everyone in Chicago... including the employees... know you had to have voted short shanks to have gotten a job.
The people ranting they are republican know absolutely squat about Chicago politics.
O my goodness, not in Chicago?
It is sad but corruption exists. EVERY department has corrupt cops, every plural. Its fact. Weather it be bribes, theft, lies, false charges, whatever it occurs daily. They are mere meager human flawed to a fault. They know that when caught they get preferential treatment. They are protected by there own no matter how henis the charge.
Instead of being held to highest of standards preferential treatment occurs on a regular basis and why? What example is then set for the public to follow? This in Chicago is another among sooooooo many reminders that do in fact remind us that there are TWO sets of laws in action. One set for regular Joe's, the working class if you will among the poor, and one set for the police rich and politicians. And we all see it every day in the news locally every day. But MOST citizens simple slink back in to there seat head in hands hiding espousing "well, that's just how it is, you cant change it". But you CAN change it by not excepting it as the norm.
This forum in particular shows discussion or lack thereof of, of meaning that is in America about separate law.
Cheers
Looking at these comments makes me seem to think that people watched to many mob movies. I have traveled around and one thing is for sure that there is good cops and bad cops. I live by Milwaukee and the cops up here have pulled some major bone headed moves.
Hey MSNBC - how come you strip off the attached photos when you post an atricle to your "news"?
The equivalent to this assertion (untested, unproven supposition - theory) would be to assume that if you walked through the forest, any predator who didn't eat you "today" is good, harmless or didn't consider you a threat? However, all you can tell is he wasn't interestedin you "right now". Tomorrow, when he is hungry, sees an easy meal, just got frustrated (for no particular reason) you could easily become elevated to a threat or find yourself on the menu (observation founded on frequent and repeated similar occurrences over years of study).
Cattle, sheep, furry little ground dewlling creatures have learned over eons - generation are generation generations that predators are incomprehensible - you never know when you are safe when they are around. That why they avoid them- whether they are awake, asleep, or just strolling down the path. We took wolves out of the forest, tamed them, fed them, made them our freinds and protectors ... but every once in a while, they still revert to their common wolf ancetreail roots... its the nature of the beast. You can love'em all you want, but sleep with one eye open... cause when they want more than what you give them, they'll take what they "think" they deserve. Adorable as puppies, but dangerous when disgruntled, trained adults.
Why can't you understand this little tidbit of woodland common sense? If a good meal comes along - they will drop what they are doing to chase the more appealing meal. A bird in the hand has less intrest to them - than two in the bush. ;)
Surprising how Uncommon is Common sense.
Disabled Vet if it's in Chicago it always has to do with politics, you obviously aren't from around there or you wouldn't start your statement like you did. Politics are corruption and they are always tied in with police departments and politics. They follow their leader, you know lead by example... Well their example over the years hasn't been good. Go do your homework on Chicago alderman and mayors and come back to talk sense about the subject of corruption in Chicago by police or otherwise.
What else would you expect from Bozobamatown?
dirty cops, who would have thunk it? most cops are criminals with badges.
F.X. Lozano- Every profession has crooked and dishonest people. It is slightly more ironic when cops are the culprit, but to say that "most cops are criminals" is an insult to all those who put up nonsense and risk their lives to keep the streets safe.
Company realistically these cops didn’t just decided to do this that day, they were most probably ratted on by someone that was shaken down by them. The real tragedy may be that they we probably not rated on by fellow officers that were aware of their actions.
What is it called when you know of a criminal act and do nothing about it? Also what does that make you in the eyes of the LAW if you didn’t?
i tried to be a cop one time i passed all the physical tests and all that junk but when they did the psych profile they said that i was too nice and had too strong of morals to be a police officer
couldn't have said it any better, Lozano.
I agree with The Company. I have family members and friends who are police officers and they are far from dishonest. I think it is unfair to judge everyone in that profession by what a few do.
I personally have never nor know anyone who has received "help"/"protection" from an officer and rarely see them doing anything productive in the community. They always seem to have plenty of time to park on a street corner or convenience store lot earning a healthy paycheck from my tax money and handing out frivolous citations. If they really wanted to protect and serve they would've joined the military.
10% of cops give the other 90% a bad reputation, unlike politicians, where 90% give them all bad reputations.
I do not believe that most cops are criminals... I do however believe that the percentage of people in law enforcement who are criminals is probably the same percentage of criminals across the entire population. In other words, a police officer is equally as likely to commit a crime as any other person. The dangerous part is how police are able to get away with criminal behavior for so long without being caught most times.
We are BRAINWASHED as children to believe that cops are good. A cop's only purpose in life is to find a reason to take away your liberty. remember that.
really i thought, no i know its 90 percent bad 10 percent good. bad cops dont surprise me.
Do you really think they'd let you know how dishonest they really are? They most likely have the wool pulled all nice and snug over your eyes. Besides, if you found out about the dishonesty, they have to put a bullet in the back of your head and claim it was suicide.
I don't believe most cops are bad any more than I believe most troops are bad given a handful of stories about Nazi Marines or dead civilians.
People love articles like this because it gives them an excuse to justify what they want to believe anyway. Never mind the thousands of cops investigating murders or corruption or resonding to domestic violence or shooting reports every day, you just go ahead and hate them all. Everyone knows they're just out to get you.
One time I got pulled over by a police officer for a brake light. After she gave me the ticket, my car wouldn't start back up. It was winter and freezing. I asked for some kind of help and she said, "Sorry, I can't help you there!" and drove off leaving me in the cold. "Protect and Serve." Right!
Sounds like a lot of people on here who recently got caught speeding and now hate all cops because they thought they were too good to follow the law.
I wasn't caught speeding, I had a brake light out. I wasn't even fined, the ticket was just to get it fixed and send proof back in the mail. Anyone can have a tail light out because lights go out and it's hard to notice it unless someone behind your car tells you about it. But when my car didn't start up on a lonely freeway in the middle of winter at night, the police officer just ditched me there and I had to walk about 5 miles to find a phone (pre-cell phone days) and then locate someone who was open at around 9pm to tow my car.
ThaKhanKubla: Unfortunately, that particular police officer was in the wrong....most of them carry jumper cables OR she could have taken the time to called Auto Club for you. As a retired ex-military and ex-police officer, I oftimes have done this for an individual stopped on the side of the road. I would have called her supervisor and asked him/her why she couldn't have helped you out. If you had been a female (and I don't know if you are or aren't), it would have made a large difference.....you DON'T leave a female alone at night on a lone highway with car problems....you just don't!! Any decent police officer will tell you that also....it's the ones that are idiots that do not (see my posting above...as I mentioned, younger police officers come from families where they are often NOT taught decency, honesty, integrity, and responsibility). I apologize to you on the behalf of my fellow officers (who would NOT have done that to you).
Really it's true. Most cops are in one way or another wrong for the job. Power attracts pathological personalities. The job should require a degree in psychology and a black belt, plus major psychological profiling and background checks, super competitive selection. Should pay over 100k per year minimum. Unfortunately, fat military rejects and ignorant local yokels that end up with the job and we have these problems. Anyone actually surprised?
ThaKahnKubla, It sounds to me like the Policewoman did do you a favor afterall. I'll bet it's the last damn time you took your car out in the winter without making sure it was working properly! Not having brake lights in the winter is dangerous! Just last week in Chicago a policeman did help out a stranded motorist by letting him sit in back of his warm squad car, waiting for a tow truck. The problem was a drunk driver slammed into the parked squad killing the man and sending the officer to the hospital! It's a tough job!
I have never been arrested and I have never had a good experience with a cop. I think some professions attract people who like the power, cop and military are two of them. Kind of like some professions attract people who want trusted access to children like priest/pastor or teacher. I can't say all cops are bad but when you are treated like a probable murderer when your brake lights are out, as mine were or the time my car broke down and I couldn't get it out of the road and the cop threatened to arrest me if I didn't.. I am 5'2 and 90 lbs, how could I steer and push at the same time anyway? Rank stupidity. Unfortunately, because of all four incidents with cops, all bad, all people enjoying the power they had to push people around. I am automatically defensive when approached by one.
F Walsh,
I can't speak for the police force, but the Military does not attract people who like power. It generally attracts people with no other options. Kids from parts of the country where there is no good job prospects, kids who made bad choices and cannot get into or afford college, kids who did good enough in high school to get into college but can't afford it. It is no wonder why the ranks swelled even during 2 wars and very hard times for the service men and women, there were no jobs in the economy either.
The other thing that seems to attract them is location and familiarity. Most kids from Texas join the Army due to many Army bases there. Kids from the Midwest tend to join the Army and Airforce, again due to location. Kids from the coasts and the northeast join the Navy and Marines.
I'm assuming army-3854635 you have been recently discharged from the army and you have now proceeded to join the police force. You may want to change your out look and remember you need to be an @$$ not a DONKEY to join any force in America!!!! Good luck though :)
You must have met the same officer (actually Highway Patrol - I used to think most of them were OK) - who pulled over to find out why I was stopped on the side of the road... a Texas Freeway early morning ... I was driving home, in one day from disembarkation In Califonia ... across country, 17 -18 hours straight through, after being given 30 days leave from a combat zone.
Afte asking to search the trunk, going through my duffle bag. He seemed disinterested in helping me to find a mechanic or even place a radio call to next town. Eventually he did decide to give me a ride to the next town ... but wouldn't you know it, he got a call to check out something. Pulled to the side of the road and left me there ... all my stuff was back in the car, all I had was what I was wearing. I was better off back at the car, at least I could have slept in the car with the doors locked.
About dawn, as I was walking to Heaven knows where... some girl was driving to work at a Circle K (like a 7-11). She stopped drove me to where she worked, called somebody at home and they towed my car to the station, got it fixed and she drove to the car when her shift ended. All - no charge, he brother had just came back from service and she wanted to do something to show appeciation.
It was a different time and people were different too. ... But cops were pretty much the same!
This isn't about repubs or dems. This is about GREED and POWER and being able to step on the little guy who has no recourse. A tight knit society are the boys in blue!!! Makes the good guys who are mixed in with the bad guys bad guys also.
Only one way to deal with this. Provide a very long jail term in a very unhospitable facility.
Its also about how they don't want to do anything for the average person. My storage unit got broken in to about 10 years ago. Its located in county jurisdiction. A city police officer was across the street running radar. Seriously, he was a chain-link fence and one 12-foot lane each way across the street, so I ran over to him asking for assistance. He told me "sorry, that's county". I asked if he could at least call for county to come out, he says "don't you have a phone?" That attitude, folks, is why most people do not like, or trust, local law enforcement. They just don't care about us. Any of us.
fnkheehaw, close, but not perfect. Yes, recently discharged, no desire to join the police. I do think they have their share of corrupt individuals, but it in no way is a systemic problem. The bad always get the press. There are about 13,000 officers on the CPD, and two have made headlines. Now, are there more corrupt ones, yes, no doubt. Are 99% of them good people doing a dangerous job? Yes.
Unfortunately, in the nature of their business, they almost can never prevent the crime. Their main goal is to solve it, catch the offender, and stop it from happening again. They do serve as a deterrent, but crime will often move or wait until their is not the cop right there.
They are just like the military in that you do not have to like them. They don't care. They will be there for you anyway. Choose to believe it or not.
there is at least one more... A Chi-town cop. who is still on the force... went to a "Cop bar" a few years back.
Even though he had already be drinking, he sat down and continued drinking. There were several other officers in the bar at the time, none intervened or requested that it might be better if he went home (he did not live in the area, so you would be right to assume he drove there already over the legal limit). Eventually the inevitable occurred, so the waitress told him that was his last - he needed to go home, they were closing. He would not accept being cut off, so he came behind the bar, beat her to her knees, kicked her, drug her around the floor by her hair several times (all this caught on video tape).
Finally the other officers, too late remembered thay had a pair, pulled him off her and escorted him from the bar.
She waited over one or two weeks to see if he would do the right thing, apologize like a man, but not a word from him. She filed charges - one of the other cops present during the assault asked her to drop the charges; it would make him look bad was his defense. Never did he apologize, recognise he did anything wrong. Over a year later, when it didn't die down and wasn't swept under the rug, he went to court and was found guilty of public drunkenness (not assault on a woman - by the way he was 300 lb, she was 97lb).
Last I heard, he was riding a desk, but never fired.
It's good to be a cop!.. you can beat women - even if they aren't you wife and still not face any serious consequences - or even apologize for acting like a complete ass.
As shameful as this behavior by these two may be, it is even worse for the many of their brothers in law that are good and DO serve with honor. The price that these good people will pay will go on for years as they are suspect and lose the respect of those whom they are sworn to protect, making their lives and their jobs more difficult. I sincerely believe that bad cops require penalty in multiples as the damage that they do was done in the face of and in betrayal of public trust and their brotherhood.
Chicago cop beats up female bar tender - in well known cop bar. Other Chicago Police officers just watch!
http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=chicago+cop+beats+bartender&qpvt=chicago+cop+beats+bartender&FORM=VDRE#
Oops, he got probation?
http://abclocal.go.com/wls/story?section=news/local&id=6879490
Update: he was dischaged in 2009. Late, but finally some recognition for the trama he caused the waitress/bartender.
http://abclocal.go.com/wls/story?section=news/local&id=7172591
Chicgo justice... the taketh and the law givith; long live the law in Chicago. The attorny for the officer accuse the waitress for the incedent. Maybe... if she had just gave more respect to this officer - she could have avoided the taped beating?
Beowulf, funny thing I was racing a Jag down Pacific coast Hwy when I passed a Highway Patrol stopped at a broke down bus, when he finally caught up to me the Jag saw him first and began slowing not seeing him I got pulled over> After a trip around my lifted Camaro he walked up to me ask you know you were speeding and I responded yes he said so was the Jag but I guess he saw me he then asked if I was in the service I said yes he told me he had followed us for three miles. He then said slow it down, and have a good day and walked away. So what I'm trying to say is not all cops are bad, attitude goes a long way
Picking and choosing who to enforce the law on is the problem wlee.
You just proved reason number 4 why cops are hated.
Mark, actually Mark what I proved is that not all cops are arse hole as you would like to portray, they can be as cool as well you. So in your eyes they are bad if they do and bad if they don't. You just proved rule no. one you can't please everyone all the time.
Capricious law enforcement is not Law enforcement ... its closer to worship, say the right words, provide an offering - you get a temporary free pass. Most of us learn the necessary incantations as children. Some of us call it "sucking up"... the rest get arrested or get ticketed.
We serve and protect. Who ya gonna call ?
ghost busters less likely to go to jail that way. cops love to put victems in jail. gives them a big rush.
I'll take care of myself thank you! I'd never call the cops.....even if they're good cops, they only show up AFTER they're needed
So you want cops like in Minority Report? They see the future and arrest you on suspicion of your thoughts? Or maybe you want a personal cop with you at all times, that's called a bodyguard and you can get one.
That would be Sam Colt or Smith & Wesson.
LOL
$ 5,000.00 Chump Change Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
Thanks for the joke of the day and my morning laugh!
Their Cop Motto! PROTECT,SERVE AND STEAL, all the Drug Money and Kick Backs we can find!
YAWSIR YAWSIR!
Right................now a million is a different story.
Indeed, Romney makes that in 2 hours
Good for Romney!!! I wish I did.. What's your point John??
When this is done on a regular bases as it is in Chicago, it is NOT chump change.
@John Bayner: Last time I checked, Romney was making money legally, not stealing it.
Close, more like 1/2 hour. He declared ~$20 mil last year, at rounghly 2000 "work" hours a year, he made $10k/hr.
tax and harasas
When you pay off the crooked politicians to make the laws that benefit the fortunate, yes it's legal.
I guess we have some supporters of that train wreck in progress aka Willard Mitt Romney.
John, may I suggest you look up the richest people in Congress, then get back to the story.
Just the tip of the iceberg!
Yeah, the end of the tip is in the White House LoriLea66??
Time for the police officers union to come to their defense: They don't need to lose their jobs and go to jail...they need the taxpayers to spend money rehabilitating them.
Hey, in California, maybe they'd give these guys a severance package and a hefty retirement!
no robin thats only if you beat and kill an unarmed mentaly ill person
Wow, a lot of cop bashing going on here. I agree there are corrupt cops everywhere but to judge all by a few is absurd. If cops judged as the citizens do then everyone or at least 90% of you are no good crackhead, drug dealing, child molesting, drive-by shooting, thieving, murdering, raping idiots. How many of you posting here are just the person someone wants to bring home for dinner? For the cops that get caught doing wrong, I have no sympathy for. They knew better. And you know why they show up late all the time? Because something has to happen "first" before they get dispatched to it. Don't be so quick to judge all by a few. I'm sure all posting here have NEVER done anything wong. I wear my uniform proudly everday. Though I am not perfect, I treat EVERYONE with respect until they dictate otherwise. I could not bring the shame of being corrupt to my mother or children. Rightfully bash those cops that continue to bring discredit to their department and to law enforcement nation wide. But do not include all. Proudly serving for 20 plus years............
Hey Robin, On top of that they'll get hired by another nearby department too!!
Corruption in Chicago? I'm shocked, shocked!
Ya- really is this a surprise to anyone??
Absolutely shocking <not>!!! Now where's my cut?
Just two criminal cops out of thousands of criminal cops nationwide.
Two more GANG members down.
Chicago cops are the worst. I lived there and they are the rottenest pigs alive. Don't call them. Call a crook you'll be better off.
you hit the nail right on the head!! most are that way,i don't like em one bit, they act like they are god ,bunch of pigs!!
Chicago is a much nicer place without you, please don't move back.
John, really? I much nicer place? Is that because YOU are still there?
Mary Jones, sounds like moving away was the smartest move you ever made.
BTW John, are you advertising the marijuana leaf because you are buying or selling?
Yup, you fit right in to the counter-culture!
I live in Chicago, I don't like people bashing my town as if it were the most corrupt place on the planet.
How would you like it if I called Darwin the city with a bunch of drunks, or Perth the west coast cesspool.
I grow my own pot, so I neither buy or sell.
May I suggest you view the wall of cops killed in the line of duty for you truly deserving people.
By the looks of some of these idiots, they would probably spit on the wall.
I live in Chicago
Midden Heap of the USA. Horrible cops, horrible politicians, stupidest hotdog EVER...
But Gepettos in Oak Park makes a chicken lasagna to DIE for!
I will always remember Chicago as the city that outsourced the parking meter business and lost money on it because of fines from spots blocked due to city construction.
STUPIDEST city EVER
Da Bears!
I must disagree that most cops are criminals that is totally incorrect, most of the police I know are good people who care about the community. it is the few bad apples who are the issue just like in our comunitys the majority of people are good abiding people it is the minority of crooks that are the issue.
"...most of the police I know are good people who care about the community." Where do you live, Mayberry RFD? Such naivete...
Adams I agree with you. I will admit that when I read stories like this it is hard for me to say I am a cop. This has given those who are anti-police and anti-government more ammo and I can't blame them. Police should be held doubly accountable for their actions. It infuriates me that criminals like these make it onto the force. I know what I went through to get on the force, every thing I ever did was scrutinized. There is psychological testing, criminal records check, polygraph examinations, basic knowledge and physical agility testing. I don't know how guys like this slip through. I will say I am from a smaller department and only have 9 years on. Maybe the standards were different 14 or 18 years ago. I have been blessed to work at two very professional agencies. I will say I have met one cop who did the wrong thing and he was investigated and fired. I took my job to truly serve and protect. I love people and get a great sense of fulfillment when I put away a thief or child abuser or even helping somebody change a tire on the side of the road. I am glad these two are off the street. This is going to be hard damage to repair for law enforcement.
Wow, Leslie. You sound like a genuinely good cop. Be safe out there. Thank you.
no different than pedaphils luring kids in with puppies, candy, backpacking (yes, I meant exactly that) - trips into the country, giving them gifts or protecting them from bullies. No "rancher" wants to share his branded cattle with other predators, especially after he spends time to cultivate their trust.
These crooked cops do what ever it takes to make sure they are above suspicion ... not because "They basically good people, but because they do not have good intentions. Hunters use camouflage to blend into the background too - they look innocent, right up til the time they strike.
It will not be a huge suprise that If these guys make it to court, there isn't some revelation that they "really" were on a unauthorized or secret mission to clean up the streets.
At worst, a slap on the wrist and back on the streets again.
I hope the FED's have the generosity (common sense) to get the informant out of town - his life ain't worth squat once this case is closed or the media attention wanes. Matter of fact - Brother Officers may find him dead of an overdose, drowned, hit by a car - possible beaten to death by street gangs, before the case makes it to trial. Damned the appearance - just so long as he doesn't get to court, testify - they can find a way to concoct a story which a willing, hand-picked jury can use as a basis for acquittal.
These guys didn't just "make it on the force" they thrived... you can't expect us to believe this was the 1st time they've done this ("who always takes care of you" - that phrase was on the recording). Was it 14 and 17 years on the force? No one, not even once - held any suspicion that something wasn't going on? Really!!!
Heck, untrained folks in the neighborhood can usually tell if someone down the street is selling drug, chopping cars, holding gaming parties, etc - in weeks or days after it starts. Heck, its the busy body "Church Lady's" sitting on the stoop or watching out the window ... who can tell you every-bodies business and they never leave the house.
Leslie.. i agree with you that not ALL cops are criminals BUT...absolute power corrupts absolutely!! Most cops WILL NOT rat on fellow officers (that makes them just as guilty as the ones that are commiting the crimes)! I have never in my life seen a cop pull over to help a person change a tire!!!! if they are pulling over it is to try and find something to further their careers.(hoping to stumble on a million dollar growing operation). In fact we need police, we just need to come up with a better way of monitoring them, their finances, and their actions. Here in mass I had $13,500 stolen from me as I was car shopping!! I had NO DRUG,NO PARAFANALIA,NOT ONE ILLEGAL ITEM IN MY POSSESSION!!!! (I was however speeding) The cop took my money and told me i could not have a receipt,HE ALSO TOLD ME THAT ANYONE TRAVELLING ON I91 WITH MORE THAN $1000 AND HAD IT FOLDED IN HALF WITH A RUBBERBAND IS A DRUG DEALER!!! and that i would never get it back. I went to the police station and waited 4HOURS for the cop to come back so i could get one. All the while every officer that came in was laughing at me openly for trying. Later AFTER I filed to get my money back I got charges pressed on me for ("misdemeanor"possession with intent to distribute) I HAD NO DRUGS!!!!!!!!!
Later at trial he admitted to going on an uscheduled vacation TO JAMAICA the very next day and didnt fill out the police report till after i had filed and did it from memory. And he could not produce the actual money that he said "HAD DRUG RESIDUE ON IT SO BAD HE COULD NOT TAKE THE SMELL" and thats why he took it!!!!! The judge said " THE COP HAS NO REASON TO LIE SO IT WAS ALLOWED AS EVIDENCE" EVERY COP THERE KNEW WHAT HAPPENED BUT EVERYONE THERE LIED TO PROTECT THAT COPS JOB!!!! That makes them all CRIMINALS!!!! Not telling the truth under oath is a CRIME!! For the next 2 years I could not pass a cop on the side of the road without getting pulled over and searched for hours!!!!! NEVER FOUND ANYTHING IN over 10 attempts. All of them were looking for a free vacation. Also never once was I cited for doing anything wrong,NOT ONCE!!!!!!
Almost all cops stick together no matter what the other is doing so as not to be labled a rat.if they can say that anyone who carries that much money folded in half is a DRUG DEALER . Then I can say most cops are criminals. MAYBE you are the exception!! but id be willing to wager that you would let a fellow police officer to speed without penalty in his private vehichle! In which case you are both BREAKING THE LAW! Happens all the time. I dont like cops and will never trust one not ever! They will LIE and STEAL to further their own carreers or personal lives just like anyone else whose promotions are "performance" based!!! And that "pulling over to help someone change a tire" will make me laugh for the rest of the week. Im 42 years old and have been driving 25,000 miles a year for at least 15 of them and have never heard of or seen it happenning!!!!!!
Most cops are out for their own pocket and family just like anyone else!!!!
Okay, to be fair, I have known a couple honest cops. I went to law school with one. A State Trooper, straight and narrow as the day is long. Another was a lawyer I worked for. Charlie had been a cop before he became a lawyer. When he was on patrol, he had a partner that used to write tickets with false charges. If a guy was going 10 over, the guy would write up a ticket for 30 over. Charlie would approach the driver and tell them he would testify for them if they decided to contest the ticket, because he knew they weren't driving as fast as his partner wrote the ticket for. Those two were honest cops. Others I've known have been involved in every form of dishonesty and criminality that you can think of.
My dentist was the greatest dentist the world has ever known, and a family friend, but he used to tell me that 90% of dentists are either dishonest or incompetent, or both, and I have used that rule of thumb for all professions, and I see no reason why cops would come in at below 90%. Especially for the reasons of the slippery slope I describe in my other post above, #1.60
Onlyyou, I know of a case like yours described above. See, down here along the Arizona-Mexighanistan border Hispanic folks (from Mexico too) pay in cash for just about everything. They don't trust banks or believe in plastic or checks. Cash or nothing. They save and save until their purchase. Cops like to use the wad of cash as a dope affiliated thing too. Anyhow, this one Neo-Nasty Deputy pulled the same on this one family from Tubac after they stopped to meet their loved one at the ANG with two weeks break from A-Stan up in Pinal County. No record of the seizure nor the stop. Anyhow the Crooked Deputy gets his head busted, his home trashed, property confiscated by friends of the victims, pawned and the rest speaks for itself. No record of the incident and collection of debt on nthe Deputy either! We ALL know who he is and he's long gone to live in another state with a big dent in his noggin. Ahhh, western justice prevails here!
First of all, thank you Leslie for your service. As much as I hate to see so much widespread corruption in law enforcement, there ARE good cops out there. A few years ago, I was new to San Francisco and my car just stopped in the middle of a very busy city street. It was early in the morning and raining hard. As soon as I got out of my car, a nice gentleman had pulled up behind me and it turned out that he was an off duty police officer. He not only helped me puch my car to the side of the road, he also gave me a ride to where I was going which was only 5 blocks away. I was a young girl new to the big city and was very appreciative of the fact that there are still decent people (including police officers) in the world. I think to generalize and sterotype all police officers, who take the chance of being killed on the job (happens alot around here) based on horror stories of the few is very unfair.
Les, I miss the ones who copped from the heart as we called it. It'a rarity these days as cops gotta be politicians first. On the crooked cops, very few will not be tempted during their carreer. Down here, Badge or not, won't keep a crooked cop fom getting a beat-down worthy of a death sentence out here along the Arizona-Mexighanistan border, and ALL the cops know it. Folks with a personal beef with a cop don't call the cops. Western justice has its place as folks take care of their own unlike other parts of the nation. Be safe, thanks for being one of the very few-from the heart!
I've lived all along the west coast, have had a fair share of interactions with cops and in only one instance did I have a problem with their behavior, where do you people live so I can avoid these places.
Chicago wlee... avoid at all costs.
Mark, thanks I'll scratch it off my list.
cmstubbles... Many, many cops are very very nice to female drivers. I know quite a few women who didn't get a well deserved ticket just by flashing their Baby-Blues..... Just another reason not to trust them. You were just plain crazy to get into anyones car without record... Off duty police officer or not!!!!! Im just glad you are still here to talk about it.
LA makes the top of my list... I have routinely refused job offers, good career moves - when I find out I would have been required to live in that city. When I travel to southern California, I have one rule - never enter LA even driving on the freeway through that city is an unnecessary tempt of fate. Take an alternate route if at all possible. Recently I had an occasion to to go to San Diego, was forced to go through LA ... after weighing the options, I ended up renting a car, really it was an SUV (Urban Assault Vehicle), if worse came to worse, I could abandon it if necessary, without having to come back, retrieve the vandalized shell.
We can only hope they spend a long, long time in jail.
Cops don't do time, and they always keep their pensions, that is the law.
Once in a while they'll rat on others playing the same game, let's not forget that a crooked former cop is a death sentence in the joint. These two know if they don't rat out others they face death in the Grey Wall Hotel. Good riddance! Nothing worse than a cop thats crooked as a bolt of lightning. A disgrace to those doing the right thing! Get ready for Butt-Bumping Billy and for Bend-Over Bob!! These two will forever have their flatus silent and their turds will tumble out sideways!!
A lot more Federal task forces are needed for every state. They will pay their way with money recovered.
They need to go after police, gangs, identity thieves, health care fraud,- The list is endless.
The money spent on the "war on drugs" needs to be diverted to policing the cops. Win/win.
Why don't the teabaggers trying to get rid of this government agency. The cops stole the money that the rich were going to get.
Time to stop wasting money on things like this and religion, Dui stings, and the rest of the nonsense and spend it on education, oh that's right GOP are against that
opp: Looks like that education didn't work for you. teabaggers??? You've got to come up with something better than that and if you want money, work for it! That's the GOP way. Open your eyes and grow up and quit being such a hater.
opp, so you want to stop DUI stings? Yeah lets keep throwing more money on a failed education system, revamp the system then come back and talk to me.
Why is it ALWAYS Chicago? That has to be the most corrupt city in the USA.
Welcome to Obama country. Just look at how he used dirty tricks to knock his South Side opponents out of the race in 1996. He's comes from a culture of corruption.
Nah, not always Chicago. Don't forget Miami, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Newark, Detroit, Vegas. Also, Washington DC is so corrupt they've legalized bribery! They just call it "lobbying."
Boston also!!!!!
Why is it ALWAYS Chicago?
What a Lunatic.
Why? Because the intire culture of the Chicago Police Department and City always have been and always will be corrupt. Murders, theft, kickbacks, bribs and coverup are a day-to-day occurance.
Only place close to how corrupt Chicago is... New Orleans.
Both places super racist to boot!!
Both places very Catholic... ironic?
Sounds like sour grapes to me. Obama out thought, out fought the butt bumpers in the Chicago power elite and they are still PO-ed.
They figured that moving him out of his Congressional Seat would be the end of his political career. Then - here's the rub... he actually won the primaries and the Presidency!
All the conniving, behind the scenes manipulation failed and continues to fail - Geppetto II (our present day puppet masters were not so altruistic) the new breed doesn't like it when the puppet breaks his strings...what they forgot was the original Geppetto wryly gave the puppet the name Pinocchio as an omen of good fortune, his wish was to have real son, not a puppet. These guys his detractors, wanted the reverse.
They haven't forgiven him since. As they say on the street - "Player - ya been played"! deal wit it...
usually CPD officers are too lazy to shake down offenders- they spend most of thier time sitting in Starbucks and other coffee houses for hours at a time (see Randolph and Morgan, Madison and Morgan, or under block 37 in the Loop).
CPD are the most corrupt and worthless police force in the US.
It would be more amazing if they'd arrest the politicians from Chicago who are themselves the real criminals responsible for more money laundering, election fraud, corruption, abuse of authority, and the list goes on, and on, and on... Oh, and they're all democrat. No wonder they get away with it.
Gotta love Chicago politics. But they will ignore their own vices and throw a cop under the bus in a heart beat. And most of you people will gladly drink the Kool-Aid.
: )
Chicago the only place with crooked cops? No, just like the public at large, you can find corruption, in every state. Greed a major problem, around the world!
What a way toi end ones career!!!!!!!!!!!
Retired does SFC stand for Retired San Fran Cop?
A good number of cops do this.
Anyone want to make a quick million? Take out a life insurance policy on that informant.
Watts and Mohammed, Imagine that!
Steveareno: now, now...don't you go profiling Watts and Mohammed. They had 12 and 14 years "experience" on the force. But, now that you mention it, yeah, neither of them would be cops in my town here in the mountains. "The Chicago Way"...been around forever, and how clearly this old guy remembers how the original Mayor Daley threw the Chicago votes (dead men, illegals, even then) to JFK in 1960...providing Illinois and just enough to squeak out that victory. Ironic...got JFK a couple bullets in his head but son Daley, go a nice job in Chicago...hmmm the Mayor!...and then top Oval Orifice job with...uhhhh Barry Soetoro. So it goes.
there has to be a LOT more cops, especially in larger cities, who are corrupt. hopefully, this will alert the rest to try to be clean moving forward.....but then greed is blind
Little surprise that Chicago cops are on the take
So does the wall street guys have diplomatic immunity when it comes to stealing! These guys got $5000 The wall steet guys got $16 trillion and counting while Mr. Holden sits and puffs with Obama counting they`re share of the loot! What a joke!
Dub ya... had no clue. By the time someone pull his coat - let him in on the game, it was too late to stop it and he was too stupid to cover it up.
So they set up McCain as the front man and eventual fall guy. It was just good luck that Obama came to the rescue. The game was to let the Democrats take the fall ... they made sure by sticking Palin on the ticket at the last minute.
The plan worked - what they didn't count on was Obama was smarter than they figured.
No, No, Don't tell me chicago's Finest are on the Take. Who would have ever believed it. Such fine upstanding officer's that are here just to serve the people of Chicago. I would bet the farm, if I had a farm, that this will all turn out to be a big mistake, that they were just holding the evidence for the trial, or something or other. Too bad I don't own a Farm though.
