The casket of slain Chardon High School student Daniel Parmertor is carried to his gravesite in Chardon, Ohio on Saturday.
CHARDON, Ohio - Hundreds of people stood shoulder to shoulder along the street on a cold, windy Saturday morning to honor one of three teenagers killed in a high school shooting.
The service in Chardon for 16-year-old Daniel Parmertor is the first of the three funerals. Services for 16-year-old Demetrius Hewlin and 17-year-old Russell King Jr. will be held next week.
Parmertor's family said they planned to bury him with his first paycheck — still unopened — from his new job at a bowling alley, The Cleveland Plain Dealer reported.
At the Mass, Danny's brother Dominic said, "Not only did I lose my brother, I lost my best friend. I don't want to wait 50 or 60 years to see you . . . . My life will never be the same," according to The Plain Dealer.

Students walk after the burial of Daniel Parmertor at All Soul's Cemetery on Saturday, in Chardon, Ohio.
Those honoring the teen wore the school's colors of red and black and huddled in hoods, knit hats and blankets. They held U.S. flags and signs featuring red hearts and saying "We are One Heartbeat." Some expressed continued disbelief about the Monday attack.
Parmertor was remembered as a computer whiz and for his laugh and wit.
NBC affilate WKYC-TV reported members of the community were handing out food and water to each other before the funeral procession as mourners lined the street to show the Parmertor family their support.
Two other students were seriously wounded when a gunman opened fire in the cafeteria at Chardon High School, about 30 miles east of Cleveland. One remains in serious condition; a second has been released from the hospital.
The Mass was held at the Church of St. Mary across the street from the school complex where the attack occurred. It's the same church where thousands showed up for a vigil earlier this week.
On Friday, hundreds had waited hours in cold rain to pay respects to the teen at a funeral home in nearby Eastlake. He was to be buried at a Chardon cemetery.
Hearing for suspect next week
Charges filed in juvenile court accuse 17-year-old T.J. Lane of aggravated murder, attempted aggravated murder and felonious assault. Lane's next hearing is Tuesday.
Chardon starts painful process of getting back to normal
Prosecutor David Joyce said the motive for the shooting remains unclear. He said the victims were selected randomly, and he called the suspect someone "who's not well."
Classes resumed at the 1,100-student school on Friday with police on hand.

So heartbroken for the families and their unfathomable losses.
The shooter should never see the light of day again. Ever.
Juvenile court?!?!?! He should be charged as an adult and prosecuted in superior court. This is not some kid who did not understand the consequences, this was a cold blooded, premeditated attack and murder of people who had never done anything to this @!$%#. By all accounts, he simply shot students at random. This was not a kid exploding in revenge targeted at particular students who had done something to him, this was the completely random killing of whomever happened to be in his line of fire. He should be spending the rest of his life in an adult prison. He committed a premeditated attack on the students. My only regret is that since this @!$%# is not 18 they can not go for the death penalty. Anyone who randomly kills three people and seriously wounds several others, none of whom had done anything to him, does not deserve to go on living. Unfortunately, the taxpayers are now going to get stuck with the bill for housing, feeding, and clothing this SOB for the rest of his life.
J & D in Hanover VA SUCK, "PAS kids" is a way of life!
Thanks Judge.....
I feel awful for that community but I hope this at least will help shed more light on bullying.. There should be zero tolerance for mental abuse period. School's should be a place to learn, not a place for thugs and punks. I can't help but feel this kid just became overwhelmed with anger and thoughts of revenge..
JS in SD - The kid must be charged in Juvenile Court. The facts of the case may determine if it is transferred to District Court where he can be tried as an adult. Do your homework, son.
America's mental health system is BROKEN.
Yet we always seem shocked when the logical results occur.
No one here is discussing the religion of the shooter? Must not be a Muslim otherwise all wise souls here would had been judging the Islam as the base of all evils in this world. If this kid's act was not evil then what the heck was it?
Great loss for the families of the victims, all prayers go out to them.
might want to get a CAT scan....Crazy is what you are,you disprespecting POS>
This has to be one of the worst things another kid could do ! I blame then damn kill murder kill games these kids are playing right now they have no meaning twards life and these kids don't value life , think its ok to kill another person we need to ban those games and get kids playing games about life love and happiness , this generation is way to vilent , u hear them talking all the time in malls and stores when there together saying crap like oh he thinks he's cool I OT TO SHOOT HIM THE FACE AND TEACH HIM I DON'T ROLL LIKE THAT ! where the hell do u think there learning how to kill !!! if ur childen have X-BOX then make sure there not playing CALL OF DUTY OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT ! there's no reason for a game like that . We've seen anough young men die in war these kids don't need these violent war games to play because after awhile they have no respect for life if this inccident shows anything it shows that these kids are acting out what they have been learning playing these stupid GAMES IT NOT A GAME when will they learn theres no reset button in real life DEATH IS FINAL ! MY HEART AND PRAYERS GO OUT TO THESE FAMILIES WHICH LOST THERE BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN PLEASE MAKE SURE THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN SOMEWHERE ELSE , HELP THIS GENERATION BEFORE ITS TO LATE ! R.I.P. GOD BLESS!
Thank you NRA for your bloodied hands and your gifts of guns (Uzi's and AK 47's included) for all us freedom-loving xenophobic penile-challenged tea partiers. You are such the paranoid bunch; God forbid they take away your pistols and manhood.
My condolences to the family and all the students. There is too much of this going on in our world. Obviously the shooter was mentally unbalanced, and yes, our mental health system is broken. I can attest to that personally. There's not a lot of hope out there for kids in trouble, and then other innocents pay for that. It's more than discouraging, it's unacceptable.
Gulf Coast Richard: Agreed. It's time to face the facts America. We have a very violent culture. We have the most guns per capita of any Western country. There is a clear link between these factors and incidents like this one.
These things happen very rarely in other countries, but here? Here, it happens continually. And what do the gun nuts say?
"We need more guns." Yeah, and we should pour gasoline on fires to put them out too.
Those students were shot in a few seconds.
Guns don't kill people. People do. Guns make it very easy to kill lots of them quickly. Mass "knifings" of 30 people at a time don't happen. We need to end the madness somehow and more guns isn't the answer.
No kid should have to fear getting shot at school so gun nuts can get their jollies.
I for one would feel zero guilt if video games were banned for non-teenagers. They serve no meaningful purpose. I believe in freedom and liberty but when it comes to our youth, results speak for themselves. We have done nothing but go down hill since our children were exposed to gaming and cell phones...
These big gaming companies target our youth and as long as Wall Street gets theirs, they could careless.
@ Gulf Cost Richard:
Be ready for all the hassle that you will receive for posting that. I agree with you. However, it seems that some people get really aggravated at the thought of even getting rid of their guns. People can look at these pictures, and not be so "surprised" when these atrocities happen.

Their slogan is so very true. We are one heartbeat. When will we ever begin to understand this? The evidence of disharmony, argument and venom of the religious, social, racial, and social variety is pervasive in society. Its beyond time we come together in all inclusive mutual respect and attempt to instill it in our children our society and politics. May the families find peace and may we all be a more loving and peaceful people. I often wonder if we realize how very fragile our lives are.
@gulfcoastrichard
Get off your high horse.
* Based on survey data from the U.S. Department of Justice, roughly 5,340,000 violent crimes were committed in the United States during 2008. These include simple/aggravated assaults, robberies, sexual assaults, rapes, and murders.[13] [14] [15] Of these, about 436,000 or 8% were committed by offenders visibly armed with a gun.[16]
* Based on survey data from a 2000 study published in the Journal of Quantitative Criminology,[17] U.S. civilians use guns to defend themselves and others from crime at least 989,883 times per year.[18]
* A 1993 nationwide survey of 4,977 households found that over the previous five years, at least 3.5% of households had members who had used a gun "for self-protection or for the protection of property at home, work, or elsewhere." Applied to the U.S. population, this amounts to 1,029,615 such incidents per year. This figure excludes all "military service, police work, or work as a security guard."[19]
* A 1994 survey conducted by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that Americans use guns to frighten away intruders who are breaking into their homes about 498,000 times per year.[20]
* A 1982 survey of male felons in 11 state prisons dispersed across the U.S. found:[21]
• 34% had been "scared off, shot at, wounded, or captured by an armed victim"
• 40% had decided not to commit a crime because they "knew or believed that the victim was carrying a gun"
• 69% personally knew other criminals who had been "scared off, shot at, wounded, or captured by an armed victim"[22]
So: 436,000 crimes are committed with guns each year (only a paltry 8% of the total to begin with). Yet, 989,883 - 1,029,615 crimes were STOPPED or PREVENTED by the use of guns. That's more than double. This is an obvious case where the good outweighs the bad. I'm sure you think that this gal:
Teen Mom Shoots Home Invader
Shouldn't have had any guns either, right? Just let this 110 lb 18 year old fend off her attacker with her bare hands, right? You people tend to miss the forest for the trees.
@Kevinoffsite
Video games cannot be blamed for this sort of carnage. Anyone who is mentally imbalanced enough that a video game will cause them to commit violence is equally unbalanced enough that any other stimuli might set them off-- a book (catcher in the rye, anyone?), a TV show, a film, a conversation. To blame an industry that has billions of users which have NOT committed any violent felonies is to surrender the use of your intelligence and depend instead on a personal bias driven by an emotional overreaction.
Thank god the drafters of our constitution had the wherewithal to include the bill of rights, the first two of which you two malcontents would have dissolved to satisfy your own ill-conceived notions of security.
“I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it.” -- Thomas Jefferson
"They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." - Benjamin Franklin
Hey KevinOffSite, there is not one ounce of proof that video games are at fault for the things that parents should be stopping. There is also nothing that can be learned in a video that a parent active in their child's life can't stop in advance. Fact of the matter is that kids everywhere all over this country play those same video games and don't do the same thing that this kid, or the kids at Columbine did. Stop trying to sound intelligent like you understand this situation by siding with popular opinion.
That kid was using social media to write dark poetry months before this occurred. His so-called parents should have been watching his social media accounts like most parents actually do in this country. In our country, we have a serious problem in blaming the wrong people. and we love to do it. Lets take your theory and apply it to the rest of the world.
2011 Norway Shooting, definitely had to have been video games
Spanish execution of over 25 million native americans, definitely videos games
Hitlers execution of millions of Jewish people, VIDEO GAMES AGAIN!
Shooting at Fort Hood, I bet the shooter played video games as a child!
Did you also know that Australia is the biggest proponent of banning violent video games in the world? Wouldn't you know that their crime rate is sky high anyway?
The reality is that kids, adults, or human beings in general are bad and evil. He did this himself and he is the only person responsible now. We can't go around blaming video games alone. If we accept that video games and bad music are causes of this, then we have to accept that the 24 hour broadcast of violent media displaying wars all around the world are also to blame. We have to blame everything that we expose the people of our country to. Stop generalizing and do your research, you might actually learn something.
And for your information, the game industry's largest target audience is 18-34, not 0-17
I feel compelled also to point out that violent crime has dropped by 43% since 1991 according the FBI Crime Statistics with 2009 being the lowest per-capita murder year in 45 years. This despite the fact that gun sales AND video game sales have both increased dramatically.
And @justathought, comment 1.14 -- well stated. Couldn't agree more.
we profile ALL muslims for the actions of a few. we profile ALL blacks for the actions of a few., when are we going to start profiling ALL white males so we can try to prevent what seems like a routine occurrence?
@Yakfit guy
Mass knifings do occur:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akihabara_massacre
3 people killed and 2 people injured with the attacker's vehicle, then he proceeded to stab 12 people, injuring 8 and killing 4. Albeit, 30 people were not killed/injured, but the toll of dead and wounded in this case surpass those from the incident at hand (3 dead and 2 injured). Just saying.
Here's some more:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/School_attacks_in_the_People%27s_Republic_of_China
When are we just going to stop ALL of this nonesense altogether and come together? It would be a far better place to start in order to attempt an end and a solution. All the arguing, documentation...theory aren't so necessary as realzing we are all in the same boat.....together.
Why is it always the guns and not the gunman?? Do you left wingers just think that all of the guns are just going to vanish at some point in time ?? It's not the guns people, it's the people!!!
Read the artciles about him. This is NOT about bullying. It is NOT about guns. It is about a very disturbed young man who decided to go on a killing spree. I don't believe that all the victims were random. One of the victims was dating the killer's old girlfriend!
I'm glad somebody collapsed Golf Coast Richard.. He's an idiot!!! This is terrible for everyone involved and their community.. my guess is, this gunman will be tried as an adult given his age and the nature of the crime!!! Hopefully he will stay locked up for the rest of his life!!!!
Dano I agree with this statement, It's not the guns people, it's the people!!! Usually it some liberal who has lost his mind due to stress over gun control.
This while being something that has become devastating it is not the new norm. Kids aren't usually that upset about the small things to kill over them. This problem I believe is a direct cause of no-one taking the time to teach our children the right way to be. You know they need to feel loved by someone and for some reason they don't feel it.
One student said they held him down and squeezed his nutsack once with a pair of plyers! I don't know if this is what set him off or not. Well what is done is done and it's all in the past now. Could somone pass the gravey?
Will - I get your point, but read my statement.. What good purpose do they serve our kids? Next you will tell me Obesity has nothing to do with Video Games..
I hope he is not well. Well people don't do this stuff..........
Not well or indoctrinated? I would bet the latter. Although many would consider the two synonymous.
He needs to be tried as an adult. Same as anyone else who doesn't fit his "demographic."
The parents need to get some charges as well as the uncle he "stole" the gun from.
Thoughts and prayers go out to the family and Friends of Daniel Parmertor. There's strength in numbers, take care.
Agreed. How neat would it be if the shooter was up on the stand before all of the town and the 2 victims who were shot said to him, "We forgive you."
mean two... unless his family forced him to do this, they do not deserve to have charges brought against them. He is old enough to know right from wrong.
@isakswings
If his family indoctrinated in him hate and reckless abandon, they should be prosecuted for child neglect at a minimum. They say he "stole" the gun. Well how come said gun wasn't properly lock away with a trigger lock? He (the uncle) was an irresponsible gun owner who did not proper store his firearms.
mean two
you know it was not stored properly? You have proof of that that you care to turn over to the authorities? For all we know it was locked away and the kid cut the lock or found the key. I missed the details of whether the uncle has children in which case there is no law requiring the gun be locked away beyond behind his locked front door.
The little dirtbag was able to steal and use it to harm others, therefore it wasn't stored properly. Gun owners are constatly crying about their right to have arms being taken away. Well, control your arms then.
The uncle should be charged. Rule #1 of gun ownership, Keep Firearm Secured From Unathorized Users.
I keep mine in a safe. If I feel the need to carry I get it out.
I quit the NRA #1 - Tired of all the junk mail asking for money, #2 - Their no controls what-so-ever stance.
There needs to be some sort of control of firearms. Gun advocates won't like this but I think if a privet seller wants to sell a hand gun a background check should be done on the buyer. It's just a shame our country has gone so far downhill. . .
If someone steals my can of gas and burns down a school should I be charged? If they steal my kitchen knife? How about my car and then run down some people.
We don't want to go there.
The kid stole a thing. He is the only one at fault.
A can of gas is meant to run a lawnmower and a kitchen knife is meant to cut a steak... guns have a bit more sinister purpose. I don't believe people should not be allowed to own guns, I just think people are RESPONSIBLE for what happens to their WEAPONS. I hear too many people brag about the 9mm they keep in the drawer next to thier bed. So when they are not home it is not locked away safe and any criminal can steal it and use to harm another. Those people need to be held accountable for what crimes may be commited with their stolen weapons.
mean two
Again the gun was STOLEN. You have no evidence that it was not secured. Just like a stolen car, simply because it was stolen does not mean the owner didn't lock it up. I am guessing your idea of secured would render the weapon useless in the event of an immediate need.
This is whats on the NRA website on safe handgun storage:
The uncle's particular situation was a 17 year old child had access to his home and his gun! The uncle should loose his privilage to own firearms being he has shown he can't keep a child
17 is not a child.
Prosecute as an adult. If he doesn't know right from wrong at this point, he never will. I'm very sorry for all of the families. Can't imagine the pain.
So very sad... Victims so young. My thoughts and prayers for the families of those lost in this tragedy. I pray for the brother who lost his best friend and hope he finds strength to go on through a full life, however hard it may be. May you find peace and healing.
"Melt The Guns" Andy Partridge
It's never sounded better.
and sign up all racist people on next mars mission.
Crazy: Wrong vine?
Love XTC.
While they're at it they might want to melt England's knives as knife attacks there surged after the gun ban.
I shed tears when I saw those people w/the casket and the kids walking beside each other - what a shame things like this have to happen to good people - prayers to the families and friends. I'm so very sorry.
From a parent who has had a child victimized by bullying. This is a very tragic event, that could have been avoided. I have always looked at a situation from both sides. I could not live if I lost my child. However, there may have been a chance for this to be avoided and the media, schools and community as a whole are failing to see the truth. First, the media asked "what were the warning signs?" The first and most important warning signs were the bullies' actions. I worked for an attorney and was going through old files, some contained cases involving my high school classmates. All of those children were victims of abuse--sexual, physical, and emotional. I recalled how those kids were bullied for various reasons. I also stopped to think how horrific it was for those kids to put up with the crap at school, a place where they should have felt safe at to escape the abuse from home. Basically, they were getting a double whammy of abuse, more than any human should have to endure! T.J. Lane had a similar outcome. My child was lucky, my child had support at home and a stable environment. My child also has to take the credit for enduring the bullying and abuse and maintaining my child's sanity during this horrific ordeal. My child still suffers from the effects and life has not been how it should have been for my child, but because of my child's stability, my child will overcome and defeat these bullies! I just ask where the heroic footballl coach was or any other heroic school staff were at when these bullies were taunting and destroying T.J. Lane? Perhaps if the football coach would have set aside his pride, he could have helped T.J. show his true potentials. The bullies' parents also have to take a long look in the mirror and take some of the responsibilities as well. Hope they will be able to live with that guilt!
Barb....I can read your pain ,I can associate with, when my child was in school suffering the same way,I could not do anything about it ,teachers did nothing about bullies nothing was done by administration ........I can read from people's comments like "I DO NOT CARE ABOUT HIS PROBLEMS " I would care if I new .....children talk at home ...WHY parents are not listening ....do something to protect our community ....it is not about just me and my own ......NO .!!!!!! IT TAKES A VILLAGE TO RAISE A CHILD " (Hillary Clinton ) yes indeed ...that child had no one to turn to....why not us helping him .....teach our children to listen to the HURT and confuse .....GOD gave us a mission to care about one another......Lets learn something ....PRISONS ARE OVERFLOWING.......
Barb, have you been paying attention to what has been happening or just selectively hearing what you want to hear? The assailant (I refuse to give him notoriety by using his name) stated that this was NOT about bullying, I repeat NOT about bullying. So, your underhanded shot at the football coach or anyone else that was heroic that day shows me what kind of person you are. Always trying to blame someone else for the problem, instead of facing the truth. I am sorry your child was bullied but bullying had nothing to do with this situation. According to you, it is everyone else's fault except for the person who committed the crime. People like you make me sick. It really irks me that you are trying to throw this football coach under the bus. Coaches/ teachers cannot help everyone, it is a two-way street, the student must be willing to seek and accept help. What if the assailant never tried out for football? How is the football coach supposed to help him? I am sure the football coach already has around 80 or so players that he is actively trying to help. Now he is supposed to go and seek out "troubled" teens and help them to? Not enough time in the day Barb. One last thing.... Let me guess Barb... Democrat and probably far left right? Those are the people that always want to place blame elsewhere except where it belongs!
Barb 3875875. Did it occur to you that you were violating the privacy of your former classmates by reading those legal files! Hopefully you no longer work for an attorney.
Barb I will ignore the fact that you violated the clients privacy and simply ask you WHERE in this article do you see that it says bullying was involved or abuse of any form? Please point it out to us.
I think that part is rather CLEAR or do you not comprehend what is written in the article? Perhaps you are too busy snooping or making things up for your own attention needs?
Notabully,
No, what you are quoting is what the Prosecutor said. The Prosecutor also said there was no drug connection. Now you may assume that's because of something that Lane said, but I'll assume it's because no good Prosecutor is about to offer something that might resemble a defense for the assailant. The Prosecutor is not about to give him anything that remotely looks like an "excuse".
If you look at his facebook postings and a lot of other things surrounding this case that we know, it seems entirely plausible this person was a subject of bullying. Now maybe he took things a little differently than most people and clearly he has a warped sense of reality. But anybody that has been around high school kids knows he would make a classic target for bullying and ridicule. Even so, that in no way justifies his actions, but what it does do is suggest that we have problems in that the bad behaviors associated with teen bullying and ridicule of their classmates does exist. This is pretty well known and has been studied. And we also know that some kids can't deal with it appropriately. Dropping out, suicide and some forms of vengeance are a few examples of how some kids react to this. It also says that some level of this bullying behavior is accepted as "normal".
Barb and Bambi have some personal experience with this and I have seen some firsthand observations too. All I can say is that it is at a different level today, than it was when I was growing up. I would also say that today, our society does seem to justify vengeance against those who have wronged us, much more so than it did years ago. Years ago, teenage vengeance pretty rarely went anywhere near the level of killing people. The media, entertainment and things like video games seem to almost glorify such behavior. All you have to do is read these boards and you see plenty of examples of people who believe very strongly in vengeance being appropriate. Some of it very ugly and very final. Just read the threads on this incident. I've been around for awhile and I can testify that it wasn't always like this, at least not to the degree that it is today.
There is a lot we don't know about this tragedy, but we do know that the shooter behaved in an abnormal and innapropriate way. We will have a hard time fixing it or prevent such incidents unless we are open to understanding why, even if it tells us something we don't want to hear.
Barb you are right , the young man had a troubled life, then he was going to a special school for kids with learning and behavior problems. I am sure he was called retard, special needs, loser and a host of other names because he was in special school. When kids go to special class and special school they are looked at as less then their peers. Teachers and other people in the school just look the other way and don't get involved. It's sad the whole thing could have been avoided had he just been bused directly to his school.
The ignorance being displayed by 95% of the people on here is vomit inducing. First of all, yes, the media has been consistently reporting that TJL *did* state he was bullied. Just because his statement wasn't covered in this article doesn't mean it hasn't been covered in numerous others. Secondly, no child should be tried as an adult because guess what? They aren't adults. Spare me the "he's an adult in 1 year" crappola because anyone over the age of 30 who has even a modicum of sense about them knows that 18-year-olds, while legally "adult," are in no way, shape, or form adults.
From Dr. Jensen, the head of pediatric neurology at Harvard...
Wishing a death sentence or life in prison on a distressed kid is disgusting. Grow a heart and perhaps you will finally be able to display the very empathy so lacking in this society. If more people actually took the time to THINK rather than REACT, they might be in a position to help distressed kids follow by their examples. I pray the vast majority of responders on here don't have children because you are definitely not the example they need.
Where do I start! I'm the father of 7 I can't imagine the pain and suffering that the parents of those children whos lives were taken. I pray for you all. And I think what about the life tragically wasted of the young man and the pain and despair his family must be going through also. This kind of violence seems to becoming worse as the yrs go by. Why? it's not guns, we've had them around for centuries. I think its the media. TV shows and movies had morals back when I was a kid. Little by little they chipped away and today even prime time TV shows are really deplorable. Back in the day the good guy always won and only wounded the bad guy, commics didn't use such foul language, Lucy & Desi slept in separate beds. No we can't go back in time to a simpler life but we can and must spend more time with our children. Any fool can father/mother a child . its a great challenge to raise happy and balanced children in this day and age. We also need to remember forgiveness. It's through forgiveness that we are forgiven. Pray daily!
Sincere condolences and prayers go to the victims' families and friends. Pray that we all treat people kindly and we all help each other so people know and learn how to solve conflicts.
Lets just hope this guys lawyer does not convince the judge to try him as a juvenile or he willl be out to do it again in a few years. Also I do not want to hear about his family problems, if he really had family problems then the cops or other officials did not do their job. Evrn if this guy has a mental issue he needs to be put away for life. He has hurt way too many people to ever see the out side of a jail or any other facility for ever.
Barry the DA has already given his lawyer the necessary out for mental defect/illness by his statements shortly after the incident. While I agree with you that the perp needs to go away for a LONG TIME I don't think that will happen... even if he ends up in Adult court he will end up "getting help" and be released back to society in 5 or so years and they will fail to give him medication or follow up treatment.
To the brother of Daniel ...!! do not loose hope, Daniel is in heaven watching you all the time ...I heard your parents describe Daniels life here ,he was a super nice kid .You do something that your brother would like you to do ....to honor him ....Do not think about STOP.....That is lost HOPE ,he would not want you to do so .I pray for your broken hearts, your parents as well...NO one deserved this ,......Yes but look for the day you'll see Daniel make sure you have something to tell him ......What you have done in his NAME......I do not know your name but I saw your parents ,broken My prayers for your family ....stay strong .....GOD BE YOUR STRENGH....
Rest in peace, most beloved angel. You're home now.
Peace.
I know that all of the charges that are to be filed have yet to be done so. But the fact that the DA has already charged him in Juvienille Court sends chills down my back. If the DA decides not to try him as an adult this kid could be out in less than 5 years.
The people need to rally together to make sure this heartless dickhead needs to be tried as an adult so that way he gets Life with NO Parole. I would hope that is what most Americans would feel is an appropriate sentence!!!!
I hope that someday these families that have been so horribly affected can eventually find some peace in their lives. NO parent should have to bury their child before themselves.........
David
While I agree the perp needs to go before adult courts the DA has to follow protocol. That means they start in juvenile court. As to a rally, this is still the USA last I checked and mob rule is still NOT the way to go in ANY form of justice. The DA may not have much of a choice since he already has stated the suspect is "not well".
I think you would make a great prosecutor, Dave. Way to go man! you're it. Just don't say dickhead in the courtroom. The judge may not like it.
Our Condolences and prayers to these families, and GOD is with you!! HE is with you every step of the WAY!!My Body "riddled" with Goosebumps reading the article of this young man, and seeing his classmates and the carrying of the casket! I just can't imagine the pain the family and classmates are going through!! NO ONE should have to go through something like this, accept for the evil through others that bring this on! It is so Tragic!!! What is going on in this country?????? Looks like a "WANNABE COLUMBINE"!!! It is a tragedy that has and is happening to so many of our young people!! They don't have a chance to grow old, with a marriage and family, but had to give of their life!!
I think all this @!$%# started in the mid to late 80's. All was pretty cool in the 70's.
Guns are cool!
I agree with you! This is Obama's fault!
That is right. it's Obummers fault.
A question is that why was TJ and the victims in the cafeteria. I heard that they were eating and some go from there to another school. TJ started to date the girl during summer camp and then they broke up and she started to date a new boy at the school. Was it new or was it old that all of these people were in the cafeteria early in the day. Seeing your old girl friend with someone new doesn’t sound good, so why was this happening. People would feel wrong and of changed there schedule around. Someone should have given in and changed where they were. Were they all locked into having to be in the café and share classes together because there must have been some words said and people should have known a problem was cooking. If TJ could have not been there then he shouldn’t have been there and if the girl and the boys shot could have not been there then they should not have been there. If they shared classes or went to the other school together then they should have been broken up because it sounds like they were fighting and TJ was out numbered. The people involved and the school failed to see a fight between students and no one did or said enough to help solve the problem.
No disrespect, James, but it's high school. If administration had to change the schedule of every student who suffered heartbreak it would be a zoo and counter-productive to learning.
How about we teach our kids to cope with disappointment instead??
What if they were fighting and that TJ and his ex were exchanging wrongful words. Why were they all in the cafe, were they pushing TJ or was TJ pushing them. Its up to the students to pick there schedule, I was wondering if teachers or students had to intervene previously in fighting between the kids. Its also not fair to others and is counter-productive to learning with kids arguing and fighting every day, not just who was doing it. I don’t know fully who was failing to cope with disappointment and other problems, TJ or the other kids. We’ll have to wait to hear more!
Who's on first?
I agree with doolittle. I'm 16 right now, and it happens every year. Some idiot gets overworked about the fact that some other guy "stole his girl" and beats him up. I'm just sorry that this time a firearm was involved instead of fists, and that it wasn't stopped soon as it started. There was only one instance 2 years ago where a kid was beat to the point he was hospitalized for over a month.
There's a lot of drama in high school, and if you all have been through high school, you'll know that. We get really winded up when it comes to relationships, probably because these are our very first, and we don't know how to handle the situation. Of course, it's never happened to me, but I can see what spurned this.
Maybe there should be a movie that comes out of this.
We could call it; Mame and murder @ the school cafe. pretty catchy huh!
TJ Lane reminds me of the American Psycho movie. Its like TJ saw Dan with a better card, the girl and went crazy. Ya know TJ its up to you to keep your self up and having better things if you want to do so, its not someone elses fault if they end up with some thing better then what you have.
R.I.P.
The shooter will be tried as a juvenile. Once you kill someone with a gun, you are an adult.
Ohio law says that if a juvenile-- 16-17 yrs old-- commits a serious crime, such as aggravated murder, he first must be charged in juvenile court, then the juvenile court must bind the person over to adult common pleas court and be tried there. The law also says that the person if found guily cannot be sentenced to death.
This is truly a sad situation all the way around, no matter how you look at it or how you feel about it.
You are a pallbearer and you sport your Northface? total dbag, show some respect and dress in kind
who and the hell are you to say how someone should dress? you're the dbag.
The shooter going to spend the rest of his life in prison he will be tried as an adult but will not recieve the death sentence since he is a juvenile, Ohio does have the death penalty but it will not apply to him, and I bet someone is waiting for him right now in Jail to make his stay a little more exciting.
Why do all the pervs and child molesters come out cheering that a non molester is going to have shower buddies Herman? More than likely he will be in segregated population even once he is convicted. While child killers are terrible, no matter the ages, they are no where near as despicable as a molester/pedophile/rapist.
Herman knows what happens; huh Herman!
My heart goes out to the victims in this tragedy and their families. I cannot imagine their feelings of loss.
What are the facts regarding if this student was bullied? Also, why would a school district have any child who is in an alternative program high school, wait for his bus at a regular high school? I would think that would make any alternative school student feel extremely uncomfortable.
En estos momentos tan dolorosos para la familia, amigos y la comunidad mundial en general, paz a sus restos y resignación a los familiares, que Dios los Bendiga y los reconforte...
Yeah, what he said!
