Miramar Police Department
Vilet Patricia Torrez was last seen on Friday visiting a friend.
Police in Miramar, Fla., say they’re “very much concerned” about the fate of a mother of three who was last seen visiting a friend Friday evening.
Vilet Torrez, 38, was reported missing on Monday afternoon by her family.
“It’s premature to say (foul play) definitely was involved. However, we’re looking at all possibilities,” Miramar police spokeswoman Tania Rues told msnbc.com on Wednesday.
Torrez never showed up for work over the weekend or on Monday, police said.
On Tuesday afternoon, detectives were at her home talking to her husband, Cid Torrez, NBCMiami.com reported. The couple separated about two months ago. He told MBCMiami.com he last saw his wife Friday afternoon when he picked up the children for the weekend.

"Our relationship, as far as when it comes to the kids – she's a great mother. As for her and me we did have our little differences right at the end. But when it comes to our kids, everything was very, very close," Cid Torrez told NBCMiami.com. "My kids need their mother."
Torrez was last seen leaving a friend’s house on Friday night, police said. She may have driven home, because her car was found at her own residence in a visitor parking spot, police said.
“We’re still very much concerned. There’s an active search looking at all possible leads and angles and we’re searching in a variety of locations,” Rues said.
The couple's three children, ages 12 and under, are staying with the father.
Torrez is described as 5 feet, 3 inches tall, 125 to 130 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call Miramar police at 954-602-4000.

Actually, yutz, I'm libertarian/ conservative. But while so many families are searching for missing loved ones, the only ones that seem to make it to headline news are white women. Laci Peterson, Susan Powell, Samantha Koenig- the Anchorage barista, get huge headlines. How many people are as familiar with the names of Abreeya Brown and Ashley Conaway from Detroit. The reason race needs to be pulled into this is that the coverage really is biased. Just go to to get an idea of how many families are torn apart that you never hear about. Prayers for ALL of them.

Well, I am a liberal and I disagree with the statement. There are current news stories about missing woman that are not blonde and white. And at any rate, news stations only report what the public is interested in. So don't forget to blame the people watching.
You're an a$$hole! There are a lot of stories about missing women that ARE NOT blue-eyed blondes! I live in Maryland and we had a woman found in a river here, recently. She was black. It was a very, very sad story.
Any life lost is tragic. Maybe this one will turn out for the good for a change.

Way to be a downer. As Hispanics make up about 20% of the population in Florida, you can't expect every disappearance reported to be a Hispanic minority. Wouldn't it be more likely that if there were more "blond blue-eyed" women reported missing that it was because there are more crazy white dudes that kill off their ex's? Oh, wait a minute, that might be considered a racist remark!!! Sounds stupid, huh?

After what just happend in WA State-CPS I am sure is being a little more careful. What I wrote is no more ridiculous than all the other speculation and guess work going on. I did intend a bit of humor but I forgot most folks these days have lost their sense of that. I do have the consolation that I honestly believe both Letterman and Leno would have gotten it.
