MIAMI -- Several marches and rallies to demand an arrest in the shooting of Miami teen Trayvon Martin will take place Wednesday, including a nighttime rally led by his parents in conjunction with a candlelight memorial on the 44th anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr.
Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton will lead the Trayvon Martin March for Justice beginning at 6 p.m. on MLK Boulevard at Northwest 8th Avenue that will include a "Reclaim the Dream" candlelight memorial service and gospel concert.
See video, read the original story at NBCMiami.com
The free concert will feature James Fortune & Fiya, Vickie Winans, the Wardlaw Brothers, and Sensere.
King, a clergyman and civil rights activist, was assassinated in Memphis, Tennessee on April 4, 1968.

Before the rally, City of Miami Commissioner Michelle Spence-Jones will hold a Peace Walk at Sherdavia Jenkins Peace Park in memory of the 9-year old girl who was killed by a stray bullet in Liberty City in 2006. After the ceremony, Commissioner Spence-Jones will lead the group to join the Martin march.
Hundreds are expected to attend a rally in Tallahassee Wednesday night to protest the Miami teen's shooting by neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman at a gated community in Sanford on Feb. 26.
The Miami Gardens teen was visiting with his father at his father's girlfriend's home in the gated community and had gone to buy a bag of Skittles and iced tea at a nearby convenience store and was walking back when the shooting happened.
Though Martin was unarmed, Zimmerman told police the shooting was self-defense, and no charges have been filed in the case. Zimmerman remains in hiding, though his attorney, Craig Sonner said Monday that Zimmerman would surrender to authorities if he's charged.
On Tuesday, it was announced that Orlando criminal defense attorney Hal Uhrig would be joining Zimmerman's defense team, according to WESH.
Also on Tuesday, Miami-Dade County commissioners called for a repeal of the "Stand Your Ground" law and passed a resolution urging the Florida Legislature to convene hearings on the statute. State Senator Chris Smith of Fort Lauderdale also announced on Tuesday that he formed his own task force to look into the law.
Sanford Police Chief Bill Lee Jr., who has temporarily stepped down pending the investigation into the shooting, had said there was no probable cause to arrest Zimmerman, citing the state's controversial law.
Zimmerman told police he had been following Martin but was walking back to his car when the teen approached him from behind, punched him in the face, got on top of him while he was on the ground and started bashing his head into the sidewalk.
Police said Zimmerman had a bloody nose, gash on the back of his head and grass stains on the back of his shirt. Zimmerman's family and Sonner say the 28-year-old also had his nose broken by Martin.
Zimmerman's brother said the neighborhood watch volunteer was in a fight for his life the night of the shooting, and insists the cries for help heard on a 911 call from the scene are his brother's.
Martin's family and their attorney claim the cries for help came from the teen. They also say Martin was not the aggressor, and claim a Sanford Police video that shows Zimmerman hours after the fatal confrontation refutes that he was injured.
Florida Gov. Rick Scott has appointed a special prosecutor to oversee the investigation into Martin's death. The FBI and U.S. Justice Department are also investigating the shooting.
Earlier Monday, Martin family attorney Benjamin Attorney sent a formal request to the Justice Department requesting they examine Seminole County State Attorney Norm Wolfinger's interactions with police the night of the shooting.
Crump, who represents parents Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton, said in his letter that he wants the department to look into possible interference by Wolfinger's office with the Sanford Police investigation.
Last week, it was revealed that the Sanford Police Department requested an arrest warrant from the Seminole County State Attorney's Office in the shooting, but the state attorney's office held off until the case could be further reviewed.
There's no indication the prosecutor went to the scene of the shooting, but in a police report of the incident, there's an indication that Sanford Police may have felt a manslaughter charge was warranted in the case.
On the incident report, the case was described as "homicide-negligent manslaughter-unnecessary killing to prevent an unlawful act."
Sanford Police issued a statement, saying that it was inaccurate to say an officer at the scene of the shooting wanted an arrest based on the "Uniform Crime Code" listed on the report.
"All police reports from all law enforcement agencies require a 'Uniform Crime Code' to qualify an incident and for statistical purposes for tracking types of incidents," the statement said. "This code does not indicate a formal charge that will be lodged against an alleged offender. It is used for internal processing and to type cases."
According to Crump's letter to Deputy Assistant Attorney General Roy Austin, Lee and Wolfinger overruled the recommendation of lead homicide investigator Chris Serino, who recommended the arrest of shooter George Zimmerman.
Serino filed an affidavit stating he didn't find Zimmerman's statements on the shooting credible, Crump said. He added that members of Zimmerman's family were also present at the Sanford Police station the night of the shooting.
Wolfinger on Monday denied interfering with police in charging Zimmerman with manslaughter.
Communities all across the nation have been galvanized by the event. The shooting has led to numerous marches and protests throughout South Florida and across the country, as Martin's family and supporters demand Zimmerman's arrest.
Wednesday evening, St. Fort Funeral Home in North Miami Beach will hold a memorial service to pay respects to the Martin family and friends. The service begins at 6 p.m.

Why don't the parents of Trayvon travel to Farmville NC to protest the deaths of three store clerks gunned down by some African Americans in that town?
from the latest statements, it does now appear a fight broke out first between the two, photo's taken at the police station and written report from the EMT at the scene, does back up zimmermans account of how he was attacked; the prosecutor must now determine if unnecessary deadly force was used , or was it a justified shoot; hard case for the prosecutor , due to all the wild speculation .
Was it African Americans or Black Americans? There is a BIG difference. Also, Put a recent pic of Trayvon, this is not true to the date. Big difference in the public's eye!
I extend my deepest sympathy to Trayvon's family. I disagree with the comment above----- Grieving and seeking justice for Trayvon is all that his parents can ask of themselves. No way do they have the strength to do more. If Zimmerman is not prosecuted, Florida will be giving the GREEN LIGHT to anyone to chase and kill innocent people. All anyone will have to say is that the situation became "threatening to the pursuer's life" whether or not it is the actual fact because the victim won't be alive to say otherwise.
I still think there is more to this tragedy than what is known. I believe that if this killing has drawn Al Sharpton in at the beginning ( if Zimmerman were wrong, and Martin was right) Sharpton would make sure all the media including newspapers, magazines, nightly, afternoon and morning news would keep this tragedy before the American' eyes, ears, nose, throat, minds, stomach's too, but it does appear Sharpton has backed out, makes you wonder.............! Now it appears just the family and their supporters are demonstrating their assumed issue. I personally wonder what really happened.
I don't get how people can say that just because Zimmerman has injuries that back up that he was punched in the face and his head bashed on the ground proves that he was unjustifiably attacked by Martin. It does not prove that Martin was not provoked by Zimmerman. It does not prove that Zimmerman didn't make the first move by pushing or hitting Martin. All it proves is that at some point during the altercation Martin got the better of Zimmerman. It in no way proves that he was attacked first. That in itself is what is in contention more than anything else. Who was the aggressor. Everything that I have read shows that it is a high probability that Zimmerman was the aggressor throughout the whole incident. He was following Martin in his vehicle. He got out of his vehicle and chased Martin. He changed his mind about meeting the police at the mailboxes and instead wanted them to call him so he could tell them where he is. That does not seem to indicate to me that he was on his way back to his vehicle. Martin may have been the one that was being attacked and he was just defending himself.
Why is it a hard case for the prosecutor? They have the 911 tapes, they have the testimony of Martin's girlfriend, they have the testimony of the witnesses. Take it to court that is the only way that Trayvon will get justice. To just take one small part of the incident and to use that to claim that he was justified is in no way justice.
@caught, maybe Martin's parents asked him to leave them, and their tragedy alone. Just because they are black does not mean they like and respect people like Sharpton.
@Donna, good post.
donna; the prosecutor will present all their evidence to the Grand Jury; it will be up to them to decide if any charges are filed; from my experenice, unless there is more evidence forthcoming, I expect the grand jury to pre-demitt .( not make a decision)
I have no idea what the prosecutor or Grand Jury will do as I have not seen all the evidence.......but do you think there may be additional pressure or bias on the prosecutor or Grand Jury due to all the posturing of supporters for Trayvon?
In other words they have diddley squat. They have what Martin's girlfriend thinks she remembers hearing. They have what other think they heard.
Because somebody follows a suspicious person around the neighbourhood does not make them the agressor. As for who attacked whom, that is pretty much irrelevent. It doesn't matter who initiated the attacks and who got the better of whom as much as it does the state of mind at the moment the deadly deed was committed. If Martin did start kicking Zimmerman's ass then maybe Zimmerman was justified in shooting Martin.
I feel sorry that the parents are going through this. And I feel even more sorry for them that they feel they have to grieve by holding a rally on another dead person's anniversary in a public forum. What agony they must be enduring.
That would be counter-productive.
That's brain dead. You're saying it's OK to start a fist fight knowing you have a gun and if it doesn't go your way it's OK that you blow them away with it.
I'M NOT BEING RACIST , JUST OBSERVANT ; if a black man would have called in a white guy with a hoodie , then told not to stalk him. and all these things would have accured , because of the black man stalking anyway. where would this man be right now , or better yet , what district attorney would have showed up , and ordered the man not to be arrested. I PERSONALLY KNOW HOW FAR UP HIS LEGAL PAPERS HE WOULD HIDE , IN ORDER TO DISTANCE HIMSELF FROM THAT '' COON '' !!!!!!!!!!!!
25 Walker, you say Trayvon deserves justice. I agree, but maybe he has already received it. Lets just let the investigation take it's course.
We just had a teen-aged black kid killed in my town by another teen-aged black kid and NO CHARGES WILL BE FILED! Where is the rage????
papabran,
Trayvon was totally non-threatening, nor was he bothering anyone.
He was hapless enough to cross paths with this animal, Zimmerman.
When Zimmerman is tossed in prison for the murder or this child, then Trayvon will have received his due justice.
Arrest Trayvon's parents for ignorance!!! All the marches, with or without Rev. Racist, are not working.... Also, post a current pic of Trayvon...the Hollister pis is 3-4 y/o....
I disagree. First, I extend my deepest sympathy to Trayvon Martin's family.
I also extend my sympathies to Trayvon Martin's family, but I'll wait until the investigation is completed before I condemn Zimmerman. I also agree with the governor that we need to finish the investigation before we look at changing the law. We need to find out what happened so we know what to fix (if anything).
As an example, NBC has already admitted to doctoring the 911 call...
This is awful, absolutely awful.
Without being shot and murdered, an innocent African-American child cannot visit his father's home.
Some of the statements here are the height of insensitivity and racism.
If Trayvon was the alleged aggressor and was out "looking for trouble," he would have been carrying more than a flimsy bag of Skittles and ice tea. Zimmerman preyed on Trayvon. Justifiably Trayvon may have defended himself. With an inflated and defective ego, Zimmerman decided he would have the "last word" in this confrontation and took Trayvon's life!
Zimmerman's father is a retired state judge.
Zimmerman does not have the same sense of culpability that the average citizen has.
When Zimmerman pulled his gun, he knew that he was in a "good status position" to get away with murder. Unless the authorities are determined to seek justice, arrogantly Zimmerman will "walk."
Zimmerman was the initiator and instigator of Trayvon's death.
Pray for Trayvon's soul and Mr. and Mrs. Martin.
This is a horrific chapter in their lives.
"Trayvon deserves justice."
I totally agree Ron. I think everyone should wait for the facts to come out... Everyone acts like they were there that awful night and they weren't.
Ron, to "prosecute" does not mean to "convict".
you all have thoughtful comments,
You wrote: “If Zimmerman is not prosecuted, Florida will be giving the GREEN LIGHT to anyone to chase and kill innocent people. This is not a very well thought out comment. How many situations, with the exact same circumstances to the Martin/Zimmerman case, do you think will manifest themselves over the next ten years?
Your fifteen minutes are up; hand in your computer.
Where are all these people when young black men are murdering other young black men? OR when young black men are murdering whites? This is Race Baiting 101. I have sympathy for the Martin family, but they have been lead down the wrong path by people who have an anti-white bias. When the black communities, and their leaders have rallies to protest the slaughter of their young men within and by their own community then , maybe I will take them seriously. I do not judge a man by the color of his skin, but by his actions and his friends.
Arkius, PLEASE let me keep my computer.
Bill I agree with you one hundred percent, and I'm Black. Its a shame this kind of emotion cant be shown for all murder victims.
When did that 11 y.o. kid in the photo get shot? How was he involved in this whole discussion?
bill - You need to be careful. This is BSNBC. Until just recently they called the accused "white" until the family got too pi$$ed to accept it any longer. This site knows better about the family heritage than the family members do. Besides, it they don't amplify the racial issue they think they won't have as much readership. I dare you to find the as much coverage by BSNBC regarding any other killing with the races of the victim/suspect reversed.
Ron, you are right about having a full investigation. I have researched legal terms now, and instead of saying "prosecute" I should have said "put before a grand jury".
25Walker,
You wrote: “Without being shot and murdered, an innocent African-American child cannot visit his father's home.”
Apparently, you are unfamiliar with the workings of the American judicial system. Mr. Zimmerman has not gone to trial, and so, he has not been convicted of murder; therefore, it can not be inferred that Mr. Martin was murdered. Also, it has not been determined by a Grand Jury or by a court of law if Mr. Martin is culpable in this case.
It seems to me that you have an axe to grind here, and are yourself at least guilty of prejudice. Thus, to lecture others about their lack of sensitivity and racism stinks of hypocrisy.
Furthermore, you are also unfamiliar with some of the important details of this case. Mr. Martin was not visiting his father’s home; he was visiting his father’s fiancée’s home.
You also wrote: “If Trayvon was the alleged aggressor and was out "looking for trouble," he would have been carrying more than a flimsy bag of Skittles and ice tea.”
Can you please explain why it is impossible for a person with a bag of Skittles and a glass bottle of ice tea, to be inherently aggressive? Also, why is it impossible for a person with a bag of Skittles and a glass bottle of ice tea, to not be out looking for trouble?
You wrote: “Zimmerman preyed on Trayvon.” Prove it.
Next, you wrote: “With an inflated and defective ego, Zimmerman decided he would have the "last word" in this confrontation and took Trayvon's life!”
Could you please tell the readers where you studied psychiatry, and when you earned your Ph.D? If you don’t have a Ph.D in psychiatry, and you haven’t examined Mr. Zimmerman, then you’re full of hot air.
You wrote: “Zimmerman's father is a retired state judge. Zimmerman does not have the same sense of culpability that the average citizen has.”
Have you ever heard of Thurgood Marshall, or Hugo Black, or Clarence Thomas, or John Moss, et. al.? Using your absurd yardstick as the measure, the children of these great men must be running around the streets raping and murdering people left and right.
How about women judges? Are their children messed up too? The problem isn’t with the children of judges; the problem is with your irrational thinking.
You also wrote: “When Zimmerman pulled his gun, he knew that he was in a "good status position" to get away with murder.”
Now you have crossed over from the profession of psychiatry, into the realm clairvoyance. You are 25Walker, Gifted Psychic and Palm Reader. Tell me, can you contact my Aunt Anna on the other side and get her recipe for Stromboli?
Next, you wrote: “Zimmerman was the initiator and instigator of Trayvon's death.”
That has yet to be determined by the Florida judicial system.
“Pray for Trayvon's soul and Mr. and Mrs. Martin.” I did that without your prompting. I’ve also said a prayer for the Zimmerman family. How sensitive of you to ask.
you all have thoughtful comments,
Ooh, OK.
Bless you!
you all have thoughtful comments,
Dude, it is a pleasure kidding around with you, but you got to choose a shorter screen name.
CNN has enhanced the audio tape with the WORDS. Much clearer. Unfortunatly it won't make the marchers happy. No racism in the comment
for any one on here that really cares Zimmermans father was a justice of the peace not a real judge and he never said to any one that he was a judge. there are no pictures of the back of zimmermans head and there are very clear cuts on it.
arius if one situation like this one manifests over the next ten years thats one too many
It is amazing they haven't used the race card yet, it is coming, anytime a case can't win on its merits, next is the race issue did you notice how they got the word "WHITE" in the media by calling the shooter a white hispanic, whatever that is? I am surprised Jesse Jackson and the rest of those outdated civil rights leaders aren't leading the charge.
Bilbus,
The probability of that happening is mathematically off the frickin' chart. So take your smug-ass self, and jump off a cliff.
Arkius-your post #2.12 was well written and presented. Too bad more people cant think rationally on this incident!!! Have ben saying similar things since this started but not nearly as well as you. Unfortunately most of the feedback I got is getting called a racist.N ice that you stick to your statements and don't back down to the haters who refuse to see anything more than what suits them!!
Arkius,
You have submerged yourself in complete self delusion.
Your attempt to "sanitize" Zimmerman is pathetic.
Zimmerman's lack of arrest cannot be equated with innocence.
The 911 dispatcher told this rogue cowboy to stay away from Trayvon.
Neighborhood watch volunteers are suppose to be the "eyes and ears" of the police. These volunteers should not be allowed to turn their neighborhoods into Dodge Cities. If not for the interference of Wolfinger, a homicide detective would have charged Zimmerman with murder.
Empirical data exits about our judicial system.
Our judicial system selectively prosecutes the powerless.
The same above system bestows "no prosecution" upon others.
When there is accountability of the privileged, justice often is a "walk in the park" for this ilk.
Zimmerman is taking a "long leisurely stroll."
Replete unfairness does not favor the voiceless.
State governors have placed moratoriums on Capital Punishment.
I guess you know more than the above elected gubernatorial officials that are well versed in our system.
Zimmerman is innocent to those like you...
To those who are not bothered by the fact that without provocation, senselessly Trayvon's life was taken.
You are attempting to "nulllify" Zimmerman's role in young, Martin's death.
Climbing like a cat, you wish to rest this case on the highest, but inevitably the weakest tree limb.
Trayvon walked quickly to get away from Zimmerman.
Without being gunned down, Trayvon had the right to walk a street in Sandford.
He is not culpable.
An unsurpassed fool you are.
Seeking justice is not "an axe to grind." Your reference to racism is self-incrimination.
That Trayvon's father may have been visiting the gated community, does not exonerate Zimmerman.
Your attempts at deception puts the snake in the Garden of Eden to shame.
How many criminals have your read about or do you know of that "arm" themselves with a bag of Skittles and ice tea as weapons? How do you know that the ice tea was in a glass bottle, and not in a can container as it usually packaged?
In the hardness of your heart, you have thrown "common sense" to the winds.
Young, Martin is dead.
Yet, you cry out for Zimmerman.
The 911 police dispatcher told this son of the elite not to pursue Trayvon.
Prove that Zimmerman did not disobey the 911's dispatcher's above police order.
Your thought process has criminal intent.
I am glad to drop this on you:
Zimmerman was arrested for assaulting a police officer; because of his violence, Zimmerman's girlfriend obtained a restraining order against him; a former employer fired him for having a "short fuse" and because of his disruptiveness.
Zimmerman has psychiatric issues.
An experienced homicide detective "examined" him and rightfully wanted to charge him with murder.
This is an easy one.
Supreme Court Thurgood Marshall stands the tallest and well above the others that you rattled off.
Black nor Moss demonstrated nor does Thomas shows the commitment to Civil Rights that Thurgood Marshall did.
Justice Marshall was a True Scholar.
Jurist Marshall sucessfully argued more cases before the U.S. Supreme Court than any other petitioner; he was the first African American Supreme Court judge; he won the Brown vs the Board of Education of Topeka, Kansas that outlaw school segregation and he received the Presidential Medal of Freedom!
Marshall's lists of achievements are too long to mention, here.
Arkius, your battle is sorrowful.
There are bad apples/children in every strata of society.
The 911 tape, the statements of the credible witnesses, the homicide detective are sound. The funeral director emhasized that Trayvon did not have injuries indicative of his being the aggressor in a physical fight. If Aunt Anna, played a role in your upbringing, I am glad that I did not meet her.
Deservedly, not needed.
Florida's judicial system profoundly failed Caylee Anthony.
Hopefully, the state's judicial system will not make same mistake...Trayvon, the latest deceased victim.
The Martins come first.
Their son is dead.
They can only visit Trayvon at a graveside.
Many are praying that Zimmerman is held accountable for his crime.
In this case, my P.H.D. is "Passed Having Doubts" about Zimmerman's guilt.
Sign the petition at Change.org.
25 Walker going to do it again?
They both are guilty of doing something wrong!
Zimmerman should not have followed as far as he did, it apparently prompted a confrontation. It is unknown and about unproveable whether he listened to the police or not.
Regardless of the previous, you never under any law I know supposed to use deadly force unless it is a last resort. That is what stand your ground permits, if it is written correctly.
There are no bruises on Treyvon, only a gunshot.
Zimmerman had a 4 inch gash in his head, and blood coming from his nose. A witness saw Treyvon on top of Zimmerman beating him.
Put yourself in Zimmerman's position. You have someone beating the snot out of you. Don't you know that the from the correct angle, that your nose can be driven into your head and kill you? Don't you know that getting your head bounced off of blunt objects can cause bleeding in your brain that can lead to death? Are you going to let that person beat you into eternity?
There is no excuse for following someone, citizen crime prevention is intended to report and stay out of sight.
There is also no excuse for violence, unless you believe your life is in danger.
What is clear is that you have an agenda, regardless of the facts.
If this punk was walking home how come 15 minutes later he was not in his house?
Absolutely.
I disagree with your absurd argument.
Prove it.
Trayvon is totally innocent.
This child is only "guilty" of the innocence of youth.
He did not realize that he could be so heinously killed because he was a person of color.
Agreed.
On the fact that he disobeyed police orders, Zimmerman should be arrested.
His disobedience of police orders lead to the murder that he committed.
The 911 audio tape is clear.
Cowboy heard the dispatcher's orders...
As the "Captain" of the Neighborhood Watch, Zimmerman Knew the rules:
Volunteers are to be only the "eyes and ears" of the police.
They are not imbued with powers of legal questioning and/or arrest.
There is no "wiggle room" for George here.
On February 26, 2012, Zimmerman had options that would preserve the peace and a human life.
Zimmerman should not have been in close proxmity to Trayvon.
"Stand Your Ground" does not mean that you can:
- pick a fight
- send a bullet through a person's chest
- and then claim self defense.
George makes a "mockery" out of this dangerous law.
Zimmerman is significantly larger than Mr. Martin. Martin did not have a fair chance to defend himself against this privileged coward. If this now deceased child had been man with substantial physical integrity, George would have never approached him.
Zimmerman would never have "approached" Mike Tyson.
Any scratches that George may have sustained were well deserved.
Trayvon was physically incapable of adequately defending himself.
Some of these "witnesses" have strangely, varying accounts of what they saw.
Never!
Genetically, I am not miswired as Zimmerman is.
I would not seek violence and foolishly snuff out a human life.
If George had followed your above statement, Trayvon would be alive today.
An arrest of Zimmerman is legimate.
His unprovoked actions is what makes a conviction of him so simple.
My agenda is justice...your agenda is injustice.
25Walker,
You have submerged yourself in complete denial. Your inability to understand even the simplest concepts is pathetic.
Please re-read all of my comments, nowhere do I suggest that Mr. Zimmerman is innocent.
“Apparently, you are unfamiliar with the workings of the American judicial system. Mr. Zimmerman has not gone to trial, and so, he has not been convicted of murder; therefore, it can not be inferred that Mr. Martin was murdered.”
Now, unless you have a way to Mesmerize the readers and make them believe that somewhere in the above paragraph the word innocent is hidden amongst the words: “unfamiliar with the workings of the American judicial system”, and “not gone to trial”, then I suggest you use your powers as the Great Swami 25Walker, and make them magically appear.
You wrote: “The 911 dispatcher told this rogue cowboy to stay away from Trayvon.”
Sorry, but once again you have demonstrated your complete lack of familiarity with the important details of this case.
Moni Basu, of CNN has reported that 9 1 1 dispatch never told Mr. Zimmerman to “stay away” from Trayvon, as you have explained. Instead, they told Mr. Zimmerman that they did not need him to continue to follow the suspicious person he had reported (http://articles.cnn.com/2012-03-27/justice/justice_florida-teen-shooting witnesses_1_police-department-gated-community-account?_s=PM:JUSTICE
contributory). To me the dispatcher’s communication to Mr. Zimmerman sounds more like a suggestion, then a command. Judging by Zimmerman’s reaction, he might have felt that he had options. In any event, I have supplied proof that your claim is bogus. You have never supplied corroborating evidence for any of your claims.
You wrote: “Neighborhood watch volunteers are suppose to be the "eyes and ears" of the police. These volunteers should not be allowed to turn their neighborhoods into Dodge Cities.”
Clearly you either don’t know the history of Dodge City, Kansas, or you are exaggerating the history of Sanford, Florida, because in either event your point is absurd at best, and non-sequitur in the least.
You also wrote: “If not for the interference of Wolfinger, a homicide detective would have charged Zimmerman with murder.”
Once again you show your indifference to the intelligence of the readers of this page.
There is no irrefutable evidence that shows that Florida State Attorney Norman Wolfinger interfered in any way with the arrest of George Zimmerman. If you have undeniable proof of State Attorney Wolfinger’s wrong doing, then please present it.
Next, you wrote: “Empirical data exits about our judicial system. Our judicial system selectively prosecutes the powerless. The same above system bestows "no prosecution" upon others.” Cite your sources; otherwise, you’re full-o-crap.
You wrote: “When there is accountability of the privileged, justice often is a "walk in the park" for this ilk.” And what ilk is that?
You wrote: “Zimmerman is taking a "long leisurely stroll."” Read-up, George Zimmerman is in hiding.
You wrote: “Zimmerman is innocent to those like you...” I never said George Zimmerman was innocent. You did.
You wrote: “To those who are not bothered by the fact that without provocation, senselessly Trayvon's life was taken.” That has yet to be determined in a Florida court of law.
You wrote: “You are attempting to "nulllify" Zimmerman's role in young, Martin's death.” You are a cretin. I am attempting to clarify George Zimmerman’s role in Mr. Martin death.
You wrote: “Climbing like a cat, you wish to rest this case on the highest, but inevitably the weakest tree limb.”
Talking like a fool you wish to obfuscate the facts of this case, and vilify a man who has not yet gone to trial or been convicted of a crime. You are the worst kind of human being; you are a lynch mob boss. You are the hangman himself. You don’t want justice…….you want revenge, and you don’t care if George Zimmerman is innocent or guilty, you just want your pound of flesh. You are despicable, and you should be ashamed of yourself.
You wrote: “Martin culpable? Trayvon walked quickly to get away from Zimmerman. Without being gunned down, Trayvon had the right to walk a street in Sandford.”
Did you know that Trayvon was out on the street with out his father’s permission or his knowledge? He could have been out there for any number of reasons that we’ll never know with any degree of certainty.
I do not know one way or the other what his intentions were that night, and I’m not willing to speculate, because unlike you, I know that to take Mr. Martin to trial in the court of public opinion is the stuff of ignorance and I refuse to stoop to your level. Therefore, his culpability should and must be determined by investigation and turned over to the Grand Jury. That is how the American Judicial system works. You should familiarize yourself with it someday, instead of running off at the mouth like some unsurpassed fool.
You wrote: ”Seeking justice is not "an axe to grind." Your reference to racism is self-incrimination.”
It seems that you have been watching reruns of the movie Beetjuice where just the mention of his name, summons the mischievous rascal. Well, in the real world, just mentioning the word racism does not make one a racist. What kind of a cockamamie-ass world do you live in, where mentioning a word turns you into something. If that were the case, then I suggest that you click your heels together three times and say the word *intelligent* and let’s see if it helps you any.
You wrote: “Your attempts at deception puts the snake in the Garden of Eden to shame.”
Clearly, you don’t have the common sense to distinguish deception from debate (See below).
You wrote: “How many criminals have your read about or do you know of that "arm" themselves with a bag of Skittles and ice tea as weapons? How do you know that the ice tea was in a glass bottle, and not in a can container as it usually packaged?”
Excuse me, but I didn’t ask you these questions. I asked you other questions. According to the internationally accepted rules of debate, you can either answer the questions I asked, or admit that you are unwilling or unable to answer them. You can not answer them with questions. How old are you, 15?
You wrote: “Yet, you cry out for Zimmerman”. No, I cry out because you bore me to tears.
You wrote: “You wrote: “Zimmerman preyed on Trayvon.” Prove it. The 911 police dispatcher told this son of the elite not to pursue Trayvon. Prove that Zimmerman did not disobey the 911's dispatcher's above police order.”
I proved it. Scroll up. Once again you have no idea what you’re talking about. George Zimmerman is not the son of an elite, his father was a Justice of the Peace, you babbling fool. How much more elite is that then the local postmaster? Have you lived in America long?
You wrote: “Your thought process has criminal intent.” Dude, if my thought process has criminal intent, then you should be doing bare-ass standup comedy.
You puked this all over the readers: “Could you please tell the readers where you studied psychiatry, and when you earned your Ph.D? If you don’t have a Ph.D in psychiatry, and you haven’t examined Mr. Zimmerman, then you’re full of hot air. I am glad to drop this on you: Zimmerman was arrested for assaulting a police officer; because of his violence, Zimmerman's girlfriend obtained a restraining order against him; a former employer fired him for having a "short fuse" and because of his disruptiveness. Zimmerman has psychiatric issues.” Answer the questions.
Again, you did not answer the questions that were asked. You just dropped a load of questionable bullshirt on us that, when analyzed proves little more then useless. No matter how you try and avoid answering direct questions, the fact remains that you don’t have the psychiatric credentials to analyze and diagnose. Get over yourself.
You wrote: “An experienced homicide detective "examined" him and rightfully wanted to charge him with murder.”
If it was rightfully, he would have been charged wouldn’t he? Therefore, since he wasn’t charged, then we can rightfully deduce that the detective wasn’t rightfully at all…..duh
I used Thurgood Marshall, Hugo Black, Clarence Thomas and John Moss to make a point, which went completely over your thick head.
The point is that these men aren’t elitists, and that just because a person is a judge, it doesn’t means that his or her children are doomed to be rapists and murderers. Furthermore, as I noted above, George Zimmerman’s father is a Justice of the Peace. 25Walker, you’re battling ignorance and you’re losing the war.
You wrote: “The 911 tape, the statements of the credible witnesses, the homicide detective are sound.”
They will all be examined by a Grand Jury and then, if necessary, in a court of law, where they should be, and not by you, who clearly does not possess the mental skills to think his way through passing gas, without soiling his pants.
You wrote: “The funeral director emhasized that Trayvon did not have injuries indicative of his being the aggressor in a physical fight.”
A funeral director is not qualified to speak with the same authority as a coroner, thus, I’m not surprised that you chose to use his unqualified opinion to support your already weak argument. You, however, ARE qualified to ringmaster the circus of the absurd. I, on the other hand, prefer to wait until the proper authority, i.e., the Medical Examiner, releases the autopsy results to the Grand Jury, rather then speculate about the nature of Mr. Martin’s injuries based on the unqualified banter of a glorified morgue technician.
FYI, Aunt Anna was a practicing litigation attorney for 36 years before she retired, and she would have made you look like such a clown that even Emmett Kelly would have been jealous.
You wrote: “Florida's judicial system profoundly failed Caylee Anthony.”
Your argument is with the jury, not with the system, any half-wit could see that, which makes you less then a half-wit.
You quoted: “Pray for Trayvon's soul and Mr. and Mrs. Martin.” I did that without your prompting. I’ve also said a prayer for the Zimmerman family. How sensitive of you to ask.”
Then you wrote: The Martins come first. Their son is dead. They can only visit Trayvon at a graveside.”
You talk like you believe in God, yet you would separate His children against His will and set them against each other. Jesus would put aside the 99 to seek the one that is lost. You would stone the still innocent according to the law, and deny Caesar what is Caesar’s as the Lord Jesus himself had prescribed. How dare you circumscribe the Lords will and replace it with your own.
You have sinned against Mankind you miserable creature. You will burn in hell for your false piety. Your hypocrisy has made you the Devil’s whore.
Arkius,
Stand up and say what is on your mind.
At least be half of a "man."
Admit because Trayvon was an African American, you believe that his life is meaningless.
All of your posts about Trayvon are intended to leave a negative impression of this child.
Unconscionably, you have granted Zimmerman desperate "legal angles."
Your post for this cowardly killer are highly implausible and junk excuses.
Because of his public notoriety, Zimmerman will never see peace in his life.
The concept of murder is simple...it is the unjust taking of a human life.
Your unmerited and favorable connotations of his actions, suggest otherwise.
This is the problem.
The system has refused to arrest him...thus, the demonstrations.
Unapologetically, those that are moral and powerful would have thrown Zimmerman in jail.
Concerning Trayvon's murder, you major in minor factors, and minor in major issues.
You are a snake who on his belly has slithered, crawled, typed and lied.
A police directive!
George has an active imagination.
Between January 1, 2012 and February 26, 2012, this felon made 41 calls to 911, about suspicious persons...6 times about Black males. If this criminal had possessed an unbiased mind, after 41 empty calls to 911 and packing a gun, he would have realized that he was the biggest threat to the stability of his neighborhood.
Zimmerman actions in this killing will become a chapter in the annals of psychiatry.
The 911 tape, the credible witnesses, the dead child, and the homicide detective that wanted to charge Zimmerman for murder are solid evidence that he committed a serious crime.
With rage, you feign knowledge of American culture.
You have not made any believable points.
The feds are investigating his role in this case.
Your diversionary tactics have failed.
You have dug into the GOP bag of tricks of "People who vote Democratic are not intelligent."
Why would a "man" of his stature Godspeed down to Sanford to stop a murder investigation?
Google "Criminal Injustice."
Compared to their population numbers, people of color comprise a disproportionate number of the incarcerated. How many Wall Street thieves are sweating in prison? Zero. Your memory is selective.
Most murderers do run and hide.
If Zimmerman is not arrested, a trial will not be scheduled...he will walk away with murder.
Your entire argument is based on obfuscation, obstruction and unbelievable probabilities.
You blaspheme and denigrate Mr. Martin, a murder victim.
At the same time, you hail a torch for his killer.
Akius, you are the nadir of humanity.
You stand in the blood of Trayvon. Smugly, you have placed his killer in the heavens. When "citizens of conscience" ask for accountability, you bellow "injustice." "Lynch mobs?" Check the history books about who are the victims of mob lynchings. If Zimmerman is innocent, "The Tooth Fairy" will put a quarter under your pillow tonight.
You are lulled by the bottom of mankind.
Insatiably, you dig below the lowest human rung.
You should be ashamed to call yourself American.
This lie does not justify his murder.
Trayvon was not packing a deadly weapon.
You do not have nor have you stated any valid defense for ole George.
You are buried in wild speculation.
Are Archie Bunker and David Duke your heroes?
You do not exist in the real world. You are cocooned in an isolated existence where you might have interaction with a person of color once a week...maybe your postman or the unfortunate person who cuts your grass. Intelligence is being able to see through your distorted sense of "law and order."
International rule supports Zimmerman being in a jail cell.
The results of this case will answer your question.
What is important is how a person contributes to bring progress to America.
"Dude?" I would think that this word is too ethnic for you.
There is nothing comedic about your racist stance.
When their biological functions have ceased, a funeral director sees human beings.
A funeral director is qualified to make authentic physical and scientific observations.
You received answers to your questions...you did not like the deflating answers.
Juries are microcosms of our system and society.
There is a God...whose arms, Trayvon's soul rests in.
God created humanity. Mankind created divisions. His will is not murder.
As you are hoping for injustice in this case, you do remind me of Caesar...all things that are secularly and spiritually wrong. How dare you twist the scriptures for your ill-intended ego. In this season of worship, be thankful that the Lord has redeemed your lost soul. On Sunday, may you find a bible-based church that teaches the true word of God and one where the "flock" is not so lost.
Your user name will be dropped in the prayer box...and at the alter call, "Akius" will fly off of my tongue.
Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Jr. and Christ were also seen as sinners.
Because I stood up for the truth, your diatribes have graciously honored me.
Dried up will be your Machiavellian fibs...
Before you croak may your rotted being ooze out something good to give...
You are in the grips of Hell...the fiery lake has taken you captive!
25Walker,
I could not care less for Trayvon if he were white, red, yellow, or brown.
I could not care less for George Zimmerman if he were black, red, yellow, or brown.
Unlike you, race has nothing at all to do with my view of this case.
You wrote: “All of your posts about Trayvon are intended to leave a negative impression of this child.”
Review my comments and you will see that none of them refer to his race, or to his self professed gangsta alter-ego. He’s a kid; all kids have alter-egos. Big deal. My comments concentrate wholly on the facts of the case and nothing else.
You, on the other hand, can’t say that. You have been nattering about Trayvon’s race with your first post. Well, you do what you what to do, but don’t read into me your racism.
You wrote: “Unconscionably, you have granted Zimmerman desperate "legal angles."”
You are begging the question. Please provide examples of desperate legal angles. They seem to be something only you are aware of.
You wrote: “Your post for this cowardly killer are highly implausible and junk excuses.”
Whether or not George Zimmerman acted in a cowardly fashion the night of the event is still to be determined in a court of law. I will not participate in the court of public opinion; that is for the ignorant and poorly educated, such as you.
You wrote: “The concept of murder is simple...it is the unjust taking of a human life.”
For the last time; it has yet to be determined in a court of law if an act of murder was committed.
I wrote: “Nowhere do I suggest that Mr. Zimmerman is innocent.”
You replied: “Your unmerited and favorable connotations of his actions, suggest otherwise.”
You are once again begging the question. Please supply examples of “unmerited and favorable connotations”. I think you’re guilty of making this stuff up.
Mr. Zimmerman has not gone to trial, because the law has, up to this point, not brought its investigations to a conclusion. When they do, they will hand over their findings to the Orange County Grand Jury, and they will decide if there is enough evidence to go to trial. That’s how the law works. You’re only interested in lynch mob justice and that’s what I have been arguing against. What galls you personally is that people aren’t falling in behind you and the rest of your sleazy racist crowd to the nearest tree with a rope in their hands.
You are a loathsome excuse for a human being; when one considers the history of Black folk in the south. The injustice, the lynch mobs, the tar and feathers, and here you come along and want to do the same thing to some one else. You are a disgusting example of hypocrisy and racism and unless the Black Community disowns ignorant scum like you, and disavows your reverse discrimination philosophy, there will be no peace in this country.
You wrote: “Concerning Trayvon's murder, you major in minor factors, and minor in major issues.” You’ve been listening to Jesse for far too long, but you just don’t have his knack for rhyme and reason. You are an ignorant old man beating a dead horse.
You wrote: “They told Mr. Zimmerman that they did not need him to continue to follow the suspicious person A police directive!” A vague suggestion.
You wrote: “George has an active imagination.

What you failed to include in your absurd, one sided tirade, is the fact that between those dates there were a number of B&Es reported at the Retreat at Twin Lakes. Thus, one could reasonably conclude that Mr. Zimmerman has good cause to make 41 calls to 9 1 1, it shows that he was a conscientious neighborhood watch person, doing the best he could for his community.
You wrote: “Zimmerman actions in this killing will become a chapter in the annals of psychiatry.” Only in your decrepit mind.
You wrote: “The 911 tape, the credible witnesses, the dead child, and the homicide detective that wanted to charge Zimmerman for murder are solid evidence that he committed a serious crime.”
The credibility of the witnesses is yet to be determined. Det. Chris Serino (You didn’t even know his name, you moron) dropped his complaint for arrest, so that’s inadmissible in court. Whether or not a crime has been committed has yet to be determined by a Florida court of law. You seem to be having a hard time wrapping your pea sized brain around the concept that the judicial system makes these calls, and not you.
You also seem to be having a hard time understanding that when you say these things on a public forum you are incriminating yourself, and not Mr. George Zimmerman. The court of public opinion is reserved for idiot anal retentives and uneducated slobs like you, because you don’t have the frontal lobe capacity to reason with the details of how the American judicial system functions.
You are content to label the innocent as guilty, because you’re too dumb to understand the concept of innocent until PROVEN guilty in a court of law. There’s no “major issues” or “minor factors” involved here, nor are there any of your stupid “desperate legal angles”, it’s the law you blithering idiot; that’s what I’ve been trying to tell you, it’s the law.
I am not going to even bother to read or respond to any of your other gibberish.
I am content to leave you to wallow in your own ignorance. You are a foolish old man, too stupid to understand even the simplest of concepts of innocent until proven guilty by a jury of you peers in a court of law. You belong in a home for the aged where you can piss in your pants comfortably, and be fed three times a day.
I am done with you. I have spent way too much time trying to make sense with the senseless.
Thank you for playing.
Good bye loser.
Arkius,
Arkius,
know that God made all men free
...when you accept this fact, only then you can walk with mental peace.

Is it here?
enough of this story already msnbc. first you lie, then you modify then entice race war when there is none.i am thinking in the line that what zimmerman said must be true...otherwise there would have been an arrest already. how will you save face when your villian goes unpunished?'
What face?
When there is no investigation beyond the word of the one person who has everything to lose and witnesses who only saw a small portion of the altercation in which no-one saw the initial attack or the shooting is not justice. Gather all the evidence, 911 calls, call with Martin's girlfriend, autopsy report, etc. and then take it to the grand jury and let them decide if there is enough evidence to go to trial.
Make sure to use the REAL 911 call and not the one altered by NBC.
How did NBC supposedly alter the 9/11 tape?
From the Article I posted below
" This is how the program portrayed a segment of that conversation:
And here is how it actually went down:
I saw it after I posted that. I had not read it before, thanks.
This is how, just like some much of this case has been played out with twisted and altered facts.

justanotherhuma,
Did you ever meet a capital letter that you liked?
Did you ever meet a capital letter that you liked?
hey, now. the shift key is one more key to press.
The dispatcher was racist, why do they have to ask if he was black FIRST! RAGGGGGGGGGGGEEEEEEEEE!!!!
Yeah, dam dispatcher, a racist profiler. Asking what race a person is, especially whent the call goes into 911 relating a suspicious person. Police don't need to know what they're looking for, they just need to make educated guesses.
Arkius: Only your written word and I am smitten...and you don't even have a little dog that does tricks. I love your mind.
Jeanette,
My brain is single and unattached. In fact, my Basal Ganglia likes skinny chicks.
I seem to have lost a post somewhere.
I understand the police will absolutely lace the area with facial recognition devices. Many will come; many will be 'chosen' ;few will leave.
For anyone that is interested….
I am an audio guy..
I took the 911 call with the most audio informatiion regarding screams, compressed it, ran it at half speed and pitch corected it 100 percent.. even though it runs slower (just a tenth over half speed) anyone with an ear for music can tell not a note has been changed.. Digital affords you this luxury. In the analog days we had to physically slow the tape/medium down and you lose pitch and clarity.
Anyway, what I find most interesting is the ghastly scream at about 1:12 right after the final shot.\.
THIS AUDIO IS NOT ENHANCED per sey.. not like enhancing a photo.. the only enhancing has been to adust volume levels so you don’t hurt your ear listening to everything at relative volume levels.
There are a few swirling artifacts in this copy because I had to compres the wav file to a 128 kbps mp3 to fit on my page so you had a player to hear it on.. These artifacts are slight and will not distract.
The 911 call as you have never heard it before, draw your own conclusions. Listen for the scream after the shot.
share.cfm?id=11548279
Again, draw your own conclusions, I am not here to change any minds tonight. This exercise is just a way to access the call and hear things you would not of just listening to the raw recording.
I salute the Sanford homocide investigator, Chris S, who determined Zimmerman's account of what happened was NOT credible. That, at least, was a start of the process toward justice for Trayvon Martin.
Trayvon Martin was murdered by Zimmerman and as long as he remains free, questions concerning this case will swirl around in the news. The pandering by his attorney, friends, and anyone else, do not make up for the fact that Zimmerman has not been brought front and center to answer for his actions on that fateful night.
Again, I applaud Trayvon's parents for standing up and demanding an answer for his murder, of both the Sanford police and the perpertrator, and ultimate justice for their son. As for the 'raw' recording, it's sickening as you hear someone screaming for their life and one person ending it so that there is no other sound. Pure, unadulterated murder and taking of another life.
Yaaaaawwwwnnnn.... Can't believe this is still in the news.
Chas - A gun shot has more energy than a scream. Therefor travels at a differnt velocity.
Noelle,
How do you know Zimmerman is at fault? Don't get me wrong, if he is, I'm all for punishing him severely. But, before I condemn someone, I like to have verified facts - just like I would want if I was the person being charged.
Noelle I agree. Arrest him take him to court if he is not guilty that's that!
danos you got any kids?
I don`t click on random links or download random stuff off the net, there`s too much risk of a virus, why don`t you just tell us what you heard?
Bush... the speed of sound is the speed of sound. It is umm.... a constant. And you are calling someone else stupid?
yacint - so then Zimmerman can sue for an unlawful arrest if it is found he didn't break any laws?
No, an unlawful arrest is when someone is arrested with no probable cause. Martin is dead, there is probable cause.
Probable cause for what? What there definitely is is a homicide - one human killing another. Self defense is a homicide. Capital punishment is a homicide. Neither are murder.
homicide in itself is probable cause, especially in the circumstances described in this case.
raddave,
You wrote: “homicide in itself is probable cause”.
Sorry Dave, but circular thinking is not an acceptable plea in any court in the United States.
Probable cause is determined by The Fourth Amendment in concurrence with various state Stand Your Ground statutes.
Florida law enforcement personnel may not arrest a person who used lethal force if they feel that that person used lethal force in self defense.
How many innocent black boys and girls are killed daily by drive-by, black drug dealers and it doesn't even make the papers, if the shooter was black nothing would have been said, next is the race card and the parents will settle for a large sum of money, and it will all be over.
Noelle, I have extra clues, I can afford to give you a couple. You seem to be fresh out.
the thinker,
You wrote:“Probable cause for what? What there definitely is is a homicide - one human killing another. Self defense is a homicide. Capital punishment is a homicide. Neither are murder.”
Your screen name is definitely a misnomer.
What is the blacks problems they do something wrong then riot if the people don't stand behind them and po blacks they get screwed again. If you don't suck their butts you are racist.I am sure glad the guy that DEFENDED himself was not white or half of the usa would be burning now.
Bob-3820740
How many innocent black boys and girls are killed daily by drive-by, black drug dealers and it doesn't even make the papers, if the shooter was black nothing would have been said, next is the race card and the parents will settle for a large sum of money, and it will all be over.
first of all, who will they settle with they only want justice, they don't want money, money will not take the place for their son, any way i don't think money is a issue for these folks.
second you show you ignorance by what you said, if this shooter were black and the victim were black and the shooter were not arrested, we would still be having this discussion,
The issue here is that,
1. the story of the shooter does not fit with the evidence from the crime scene.
2. the fact the police want to arrest for manslaughter and there were over ruled makes every thing something is not right. when have we seen the police over ruled by the DA who happens to know the shooters father as a Judge.
these are the issues, Not black verses white, but why were the police over ruled ?
I'll say this right now, as a black man, if i see 2 young med of any color i will profile, if 2 Hispanic men with gang tattoos walking toward me I'm profiling them, if 2 skin head with Nazi tattoos I'm profiling them.
the mistake this shooter made was Not Liston to authority, and having a gun on the job when he should not have had one, if he does not have that gun, and Martin attacked him, martin is in jail and no one is dead.
stop with the black and white, this is about not LISTENING TO AUTHORITY was the shooters mistake and he must pay for it, that all.
Al Sharpton & Jessie Jackson & The black panthers should be arrested for inciting Racial Hate !!! When We are all are Americans & God Loves us all Black> White> brown or yellow We are precious in his sight !!! Go to chuch this sunday its easter sunday & pray for your family & friends for peace for all Americans>>>>>>>>>>>
karen- Why do you include Shartpton and Jackson with the New Black Panthers? They are small group of black racist men akin to the KKK as they hate everyone except their own race. They have been disavowed by everyone in the black community as racist's and trouble makers, you would know that if you had done even a little bit of research. Just parroting faux noise talking points, doesn't help the racial divide. The parents are trying to get justice for their son, like we would do if he was ours!
Probably because Sharpton & Jackson are just as prejudiced? Yea that's probably why. Also, maybe the parents should wait for the investigation to be completed...or maybe they really don't want to know the outcome...
unknownance, if it wasn't for people like Sharpton and Jackson, there wouldn't be an investigation to begin with.
If it wasn't for people like sharpton and jackson we wouldn't have cases like Tawana Brawley. Surely you remember that one that drew rev. al to her accusations of 6 whites (including police officers) raping her.
Really - Al Sharpton with his record of race baiting Twania Brawley and the Duke LaCrosse Team. I can't believe people still give this racist creditability.
"Al Sharpton & Jessie Jackson & The black panthers should be arrested for inciting Racial Hate !!!"
Can we include the closet kkk members and the arian nation members and any one affiliated with them too? Those idiots have yearly marches and protests too? and incite a lot of hate as well.
Checks and balances people, nothing more, nothing less!
thepunisher: Well, you can include the KKK if you include all the black on white murders. Seems there's lots more of those out there these days. Lots and lots of black males killing, beating and assaulting white folks. No real mention of those crimes. Why is that?
@mygirl1,
Because when a black man kills, whether it's another black man or white american, he goes to JAIL. If Zimmerman went to jail there would be no story. He clearly was wrong. So this case is complicated because it involves missteps by the Sanford police and the states attorney office.
I see that NBC is still posting the picture of Mr. Martin taken when he was twelve years old. I wonder if the agenda of NBC is to try and insure a national repeat of Watts after President Obama loses the election.
Judging from the altered 911 call they keep playing on the news, im going to go with yes.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/erik-wemple/post/nbc-issues-apology-on-zimmerman-tape-screw-up/2012/04/03/gIQA8m5jtS_blog.html
they are also using an old photo of Zimmerman, when he was obese. what does that tell you? Not a damned thing.
But is the old photo of zimmerman when he was 12? The one showing him as obese does more to support the side of martin since it shows even more of a disparity between the "12 y.o." martin and the outsized zimmerman.
Zimmerman was not outsized. By height, maybe, but MSNBC and other sources have provided newer pictures of Martin and he was very thin.
There is a huge difference between stereotyping someone, and being a racist, and it appears the general public has forgotten about that. Do I think Zimmerman is a racist? No. Do I think he sterotyped Trayvon? Yes. Stereotyping is caused by every source of media out there. The movies and shows that protray poor african american populated areas as drug dealing and dangerous (not to say that they are not), or african american rappers rapping about gangs they run in and what have you. It's not to say that our race is superior to theres, meaning we are better or more deserving, but it is easy to understand why people may get nervous in certain situations due to what is shown every day.
Its a tragedy, but no one knows what happened but Zimmerman. I do believe he should be arrested for manslaughter.
arrested, not yet. investigated, yes.
It's sad when a child dies, but being a Florida resident <10 miles from where this happened, I can tell you that Treyvon (stupid name BTW) wasn't innocent as the media would like you to believe:
He was in Oralndo (Sanford) because in 9 months he was suspended 3 times for drug related issues in Miami;
He got in trouble for graffiti at least once
His story is that he begged his dad to leave his house @ 1130PM to go get skittles and iced tea (yeah right - what 17 year old wants skittles and iced tea at 11PM at night?)
His father, who was supposed to be watching him closley because of all the trouble they've had with him, didn't even notice him missing until the next morning.
And we're led to believe this "kid" was an angel and was gunned down because he was black? Seriously?!? I know people are stupid, but come ON people - use common sense.
Of course it doesn't mean he should have been killed, but when you play with fire, you get burned. His actions in recent years point to the fact that he wasn't likely an innocent "child, brutally gunned down".
He was in Oralndo (Sanford) because in 9 months he was suspended 3 times for drug related issues in Miami
He was suspended once for having an empty baggie that had marijuana residue in it. He was suspended once for tardiness, and once for the graffiti.
His story is that he begged his dad to leave his house @ 1130PM to go get skittles and iced tea
1. The shooting took place at around 7:30 p.m., not 11:30 p.m.
2. Martin isn't telling any story. He's dead.
His father, who was supposed to be watching him closley because of all the trouble they've had with him, didn't even notice him missing until the next morning.
His father thought Martin had gone to an uncle's house who lived close by. That's not unusual.
Martin was a teenager who had had a few issues, a bit of rebellion. There is no proof that Martin was doing anything but walking down the street that night, and did not deserve to die.
No one is saying he deserved to die. It will be and is being investigated...
lol, you have no idea what you are talking about!
The shooting happened at 7:17 pm, not 11 PM. His father wasn`t even home at the time of this incident. His father took his girlfriend out to dinner and they didn`t return home until about 10:30 PM
basically this child ,with a troubled past who was suspended from school, was brought into this community in which he didn`t even live and was left alone and unsupervised. The father is clearly negligent and the HOA should sue him.
mt,
You do know that Martin could not have begged his father to let him go get skittles and iced tea at 11:30 since by that time he was already dead for 4 hours. Didn't realize that being a Florida resident makes you know any more about the case that has been widely publicized than anyone else does and your time of incident goes to prove that you don't.
Why should the HOA sue the father? Why does a 17 year old have to be supervised at the home of his father and girlfriend? That is besides the fact that Trayvon wasn't doing anything wrong and Zimmerman turned the situation into what it became by getting out of his car and pursuing someone for just walking down the street. If anyone should be sued by the HOA it is Zimmerman
You know, MT-512899, probably 90% of what you have said could very well be correct., but given these facts Mr. Zimmerman did not have to get out of his truck and go after anyone, espicially with a loaded gun and when he did this he had to have had a round already in the chamber, because if he was pent down as he says with Trayvon knees on both his arms, its impossible to get loose and clock the gun for a bullet to enter the chamber and fire, not unless he was already prepared when he approached Trayvon. All of this is way to sad for everyone either directly connect or not
He went to Sanford because he was uncontrollable where he had been living. He was suspended for having a baggie that had marijuana residue in it. That raises many questions. How many people save "trash" (empty baggies)? How long does one save trash? If it wasn't his why would he carry someone else's trash?
Because he was a miscreant in one community does not mean he would be one in another community. Nor does it mean that he wouldn't.
No thinker, the baggie had what appeared to be Marijuana residue.
"I can tell you that Treyvon (stupid name BTW)"
That just discredited any argument you may have, thanks for playing, but you are not smarter than a redneck 5th grader.
"The father is clearly negligent and the HOA should sue him."
negligent for a 17 yr old, dude you must of have major issues growing up.
Is "must of have" supposed to mean "must have had"? So sad to see people write "must of" as an obvious result of hearing the contraction "must've" and not even realizing what it means. It is tragically ironic that at the same time written communication is becoming so ubiquitous, grammar and spelling are becoming a lost art. Please learn to read before you try to write.
man mt your stupid pay attention
Pretty gutsy of the school to kick him out for merely having a suspicious residue. His family admitted that he was expelled for it. Maybe you should talk to the family about their mistaken admission.
Let the media circus continue!
Every day, all day, all the time.
the media need to back off as well as jesse al and the like i think that posting a very old picture of the dead young man is doing more harm than good it shows an angelic looking kid not a 17 year old who was over 6ft tall and probably looks a lot different
"...to demand an arrest.."
That proves what I've always believed about these people, they aren't interested in justice, they don't want the laws to be followed and upheld they just want vengeance, they are nothing but a lynch mob.
By demanding an arrest they are saying, we don't care what the evidence proves, we don't care about the ongoing investigation, we don't care what the laws say, we just want vengeance! we want someone arrested!
and if he is arrested, then they will demand that he be found guilty, regardless of what the evidence proves.
I have no respect or sympathy for these drama queen lynch mob fools. The dead boys parents are making a mockery of his death and disrespecting his memory by demanding vengeance, they accuse george zimmerman of being a loose cannon and a vigilante but they are doing the exact same thing. They have become the monster that they once fought against. They are blind to their own hypocrisy,They are truly an ignorant mob of people.
I just hope that this "nighttime rally" keeps their looting to a minimum.
Great post. It is being investigated. It is a tragedy but the liberal media covering of this as well as the race baiters being involved is nothing but lunacy
They know that a grand jury will look at the case in six days.
Send not to know
For whom the bell tolls,
I wonder how many more bells will toll before people take responsibility for what they do.
Not me!...by demanding an arrest I am saying, "You can't go around shooting people and claim self-defense without any due process for the deceased!"
If it weren't for the demands in the first place, a potential murder would/could be swept under the rug.
It's diffficult to place your trust in the justice system when it seems like 'birds of a feather...'
Awesome post tardacus... Spot on!!!
Come on tardacus. Did you have to be so blunt? Can't you just let the parents wallow in self pity for a little longer? Can't you deduce from the rantings on this site that the racial hatred hasn't festered enough yet?
"I just hope that this "nighttime rally" keeps their looting to a minimum."
If the victims were white, and holding nightime rallies, would you be crying the same river?
If the victim were white Al and Jessee and Lee and a host of other race baiters wouldn't be out stirring the pot. No mention of the two black kids who beat an older white man with a hammer in Sanford area a few days ago. Beat him so severely he's in intensive care and quite possibly dead.
Two black youths beat older white man with hammer in Sanford, Fla, victim on life support. Where are the outraged crowds and where is the media?
http://ironicsurrealism.com/2012/04/sandford-fla-two-black-teens-ferociously-attack-white-man-with-hammer/
Enough already! I'm not sure who's worse, the parents and their community or the media
It is a tough call. However I'm leaning more toward the parents as being worse. They could do a lot to minimize the media bias - starting with their "12 y.o." son that was shot.
why should they thier son was shot
Agreed. But the parents gave the media a picture of their child that was several years old, pictures of him when he was in pee wee football uniform, etc. Surely those weren't the most recent photos the family had but that is what the family wanted the media to present - a little boy of 12, not the 17 y.o. that had been getting into trouble lately.
I would say Zimmerman, but thanks for leaving the killer that was allowed to walk free out of this. He started this mess and the states attorney and police chief tried to sweep it under the rug. Not this time!!
People are falling all over themselves to demonstrate their ignorance of the procedures involved in a criminal investigation. Just because an arrest hasn't been made instantly they think it indicates some kind of cover-up. On TV they go from crime to trial in 45 minutes, why is this taking so long? LOL, it would be funny if it wasn't so pathetic. I love how angered these liberals are by any hint of racial profiling, but have no problem assuming a priori that any policeman in the south is a racist, or at least incompetent. It may come as a surprise to you that we have books and schools in the south, and even the internet. Our police go to academy, and our prosecutors and judges go to law school. You, on the other hand, heard an edited sound-bite on NBC, which they have now admitted was faked. Clearly you are the expert here.
Media circus is right, guilty before the the federal and state authorities finish the investigation, who needs a court system. And then we have MSNBC editing the actual 911 conversation for what, to insight more tension? "NEWS" agencies don't doctor 911 tapes to insight people.
MSNBC is not a media organization they are an extreme left wing propaganda collection of so called journalists
Fox isn't?
Media manipulation is not a right or left issue. I'll just take the facts and the truth please, and leave out the bias. I don't need the media to help you "feel" something, do you? I don't need them to "agree" with my point of view either. For once I would just like the facts as they are, period and let people decide how they 'feel' about it. Over and over again, you have to go to multiple sources just to get all the facts, because each news organization leaves out what isn't convenient for their agenda, skew things, add tonality to manipulate, etc... Just give me the @!$%#ing facts! Maybe we should start a petition for that. If enough people are fed up with it, the news must take notice. They were bitch-slapped once for it during the first gulf war and ended up publically apologizing. And they went right back to doing it again.
Yes, Fox generally leans the other way. Neither should be doing it.
I will only say that pointing out "fox" (1 news channel) out of dozens of other major media (that lean left) is a little childish.
Chad, you look like you can use some help.
If you use the term "so called", you imply that the subject of you're speech, lecture or sermon has less knowledge and authority then you. Now unless you're CNN, CBS, FOX, PBS and the BBC combined, you don't add up to one comma from MSNBC. Furthermore, the term "so called" is no longer used by intelligent writers on any level. It's also ego-centric, and more then just a little absurd.
Do you get where I'm coming from here dude?
I am sick and tired of the black people and their black mobs, What about the white people who get killed by blacks , that never makes it to the press and what about putting money for a person dead or alive . We more whites to speek up about the injustice we get .
Well, ellen you are more than free to start gathering mobs, for the injustice to your fellow whites. I guess white people must have it hard. you know all that oppression and stereotyping and all. you could be the first to do so, but you may need to seek the advice of jesse jackson and al sharpton on how it's done.
Punisher, yes us White folk have it hard. We gots to puts up wiff yo pain-in-da-ass self pity.
Yo don't know how depressin' it is listenin' to ya'll tellin' us how you da victim all da time, it done make me want to cry me a ribber-o-tears jes tinkin' 'bout it.
I be wonderin' why don't you folks jes stop bein' da victim and start participatin'. Stop cryin' about yo plight and start makin' hay while the sun shines. You done had affirative action fo almost 50 year and yo ain't done nuttin' wiff it. Why dat?
I hope parody is still legal on this station.
Now tell me what good parent would have put there brat on restiction, Take away all electronics and said you have no rights till the day you turn 18 and then you can move, Maybe he would be alive today, The parents are just as fault, Go after them,
the parents dont carry guns
I am amazed so many people are so willing to ignore the facts of this case. The news media will be responsible, along with Rev. Al, and his followers, when these protests result in further deaths.
What facts Carl? The fact that Zimmerman was following Martin while he was walking down the street? The fact that Martin told his girlfriend that a stranger was following him and he wanted to get away and Zimmerman got out of his car and chased him? The fact that Zimmerman shot Martin? Or are you talking about the fact that the only part of this whole altercation that any witnesses saw was the part where they were already both on the ground? It is very convenient that no one claims to have seen Martin attack Zimmerman and no one claims to have seen Zimmerman shoot Martin, yet they were all there to see both of them on the ground with Martin having the upper hand. Those are the facts and those facts should have led to a full investigation immediately. It should not have had to wait until the public demanded it.
Donna P...Were you there??
Omg Johnzo took the words right outta my mouth, I mean really DonnaP, looks to me you don't even know the jumbled facts that the media's cramming down our throats....is it maybe because you only go to The Root to get your "facts", or other racist websites?
What part did Donna P not get right?
@Johnzo-777177 were you there??????? huh????huh?
@uknownance State what facts donna p got wrong? oh wait you were there weren't you?
Donna, do you have any evidence to corroborate anything you wrote? If not it's just substantiated hogwash.
Punisher,
It's not a matter of what points Donna got wrong. It is a matter of whether or not the things she mentioned, are fact or supposition.
Donna's comments make her sound detached from reality. She seems unaware that an investigation has been underway since the incident began, and that federal investigations have recently begun.
Donna, what color is the sun in your world?
Sorry, that should read....unsubstantiated hogwash
the unarmrd kid got shot and died whos responsible
Excerpts from the story "The Trayvon Martin Case: 4 things the media got wrong. Story in "the week".
'.
2nd thing the media got wrong: NBC's damning audiotape edit: In an audio recording of Zimmermans 911 call, the neighborhood watch voluneer told the dispatcher that a young man was acting suspiciously in his gated commuity. NBCs Today show played an edited snippet from the call, in which Zimmerman said: "this guy looks lik he's up to no good . He looks black" But the newtork ordered an internal invetigation after the media watchdogs cried foul, pointing out the first sentence came as Zimmerman described what he saw and 2nd sentence "he looks black" was Zimmermans response when the dispatcher asked is he black, white or hispanic? But the question was zapped from the Today's clip. To portray the exchange in a way that wrongs Zimmerman, says Eric Wemple at "The Washington Post", is high editorial malpractice.
Prety interesting article, you all should check it out for all 4 reasons the media messed up!!!!!!
It really doesn't matter that he was asked the question by the dispatcher, they apparently ask the question every time someone calls. What matters is that the racist bastard only called when he saw black kids, MR Big and Bad Neighborhood Watchman!
Wow Noelle-you fail to see that the media is calling themselves out as manipulating the truth and down right lying. Did you not understand the quote from the Washington Post........
T prtray the exchange in a way that wrongs Zimmerman, says Eric Wemple at "The WAshington Post", is........HIGH EDITORIAL MALPRACTICE.
Do you not get the media has DISTORTED AND FLAT OUT LIED ABOUT MANY THINGS THEY 'CLAIMED' WERE FACT.
NoelleG-you and those like you are the racists and posers bound and determined to convict Zmmerman without REAL FACTS and a trial. You in all your psychic know-it-all wisdom are the only one that could possibly be right.
Go read the story I cite hear then come back and tell me some more how RIGHT you are. NOT!!!!
I think that Martin's parents should not lead any rallies at this time. They should stay home and grieve for their dead child and let justice take it's course. They should not be involved in any race baiting at this point in time. If they become involved in this they are as bad as the NBPP, Jackson, and Sharpton and all the rest who want to convict and hang this man without a fair trial. I guess the Constitution is wrong when it says a man is innocent until proven guilty.
The point is that there was not going to be a trial. The investigation ended on the word of Zimmerman, his injuries and a witness that said they saw Martin on top of Zimmerman beating on him.
bmac, there is no moneyto be made in staying home,..no talk show appearances, no rallies to help the grieving family, no offers for the movie rights, or the book rights, it just isn't PROFITABLE for them to stay home
Bill, let your child be killed and the DA's office decide to not arrest the guy who did it, in spite of police recommendation to arrest. And, no investigation to take place. Then, you can decide if you want to sit at home and grieve or go lead rallies.
Donna,
You need to read up on this case. So far, nothing that you have written corresponds with reality.
Go back and start again.
First, there were the dinosaurs, and then they died.
zimmerman addmited shooting the unarmed kid and he is free
raddave,
Once again you have demonstrated your lack of understanding of how the American judicial system functions, but this time, you are making it clear that you are letting you emotions cloud your judgment.
You wrote: “DA's office decide to not arrest the guy who did it, in spite of police recommendation to arrest.” Please cite a source for this claim.
Sanford detective, Chris Serino was the only policeman who did not believe Mr. Zimmerman that night. However, as I stated in a previous post to you (scroll up), the Fourth Amendment and the Florida Stand Your Ground statute dictate the parameters of probable cause and arrest. Detective Serino either saw his error and stood down on his own, or was advised of his error by Police Chief Bill Lee, and subsequently withdrew his opposition.
If you think that just because no arrest took place the night of the event that the investigation did not continue, then you are naïve.
I wonder if they plan on selling Trayvon (copyright, Tracy Martin) tee shirts at the "rally."
why, do you need a few dozen?
"I am guilty until proven Innocent"..........OJ Simpson. Let's see if this strategy works for Zimmerman.
if the gloves don't fit, you must acquit, oh wait that's been used.
I do believe there was great injustice in this case and will be. At the same time, I don't think that aligning anything with the "black political leaders" is help this case. Trayvon is your son and he is more important and above all of this.
I feel for the parents and especially the mother when she has listen to her son call for help the last time. Justice needs to be served, but do not make this political. There are some bad seeds in Florida apparently, but we all stand behind you Trayvon
yea there are some bad seeds in Florida....you talkin about the 17 y/o black kid who killed the white cop in St. Pete?
uknownance, why must it be a race thing with you? you are free to be the white al sharpton you know. oh, you don't want to be referr to as a closet kkk member.
Again, I am sorry they lost their son but it is time to move on and stop with the rallies already.
move on? Their son is dead.
can they still do a mid-night candle light vigil?
People need to get over this. Have the parents even buried thier child? they have been so busy running to washington and everywhere. It is time for them grieve, what is happening is not going to bring him back, I am sorry for their loss. But doing a rally means nothing. get over it.
If it was your child that was shot and killed, and the shooter was just going to go free after minimal investigation, would just want to "get over it?"
*would you just want to "get over it?"
how do you just get over your son dieing
I can respond to that... you don't. You don't get over your son dying. Period. It is really sad to see a healthy, 17-year old kid die for any reason. I lost my very healthy and athletic 17-year old son as well. And my son was a typical 17-year old kid... not perfect... got into some minor mischief... often walked through our gated neighborhood at night with his hoodie on when it was cool. He was white. He was not killed in the same fashion, he was killed by his doctor. But no matter, he is gone just like Trayvon. His parents are doing anything and everything they can to seek justice for their son's death. Part of this is how they are dealing with their grief. We can ask that folks wait for the investigation to be complete, but we cannot ask Trayvon's parents to "move on and get over it."
I hate to see the racist remarks here from both sides. I know that I feel for Trayvon's parents. And even though Trayvon had been into a little trouble, he was a teenager for God's sake!!! Lots of teenagers get into trouble and still turn out to be fine, upstanding adults! Look at your high school years lest ye judge!!! And everybody also knows how teenagers do things because of peer pressure but they often outgrow that B.S. as well. Trayvon never had the chance to grow up and let us know what he might become.
But as a human being who just so happens to be white, I would like to wait until the final investigation is complete before Zimmerman is arrested and convicted. If he did this, he definitely needs to fry or go to prison for the rest of his life without the chance for parole!
Let me clarify... we know he "did this" in that he shot and killed Trayvon. But did it meet the theshhold of murder or was it self-defense? That is what is being investigated and I'm sure we might think we know everything the police know, but I can assure you we do not. So all the arm chair investigations are really meaningless.
All the ranting in the world will not stop the parents from protesting if they want, it's a free country or it's supposed to be. How foolish you sound trying to defend a killer who stalked and killed a teenager with candy and ice tea. Most of you don't give a flying fig about Zimmerman you are just afraid someone will try to overturn the stand your ground law and try to get gun control. If that is the case be angry with Zimmerman, he is the one who over stepped his bounds . He should have kept his crazy butt in his truck. When he ignored the suggestion of the police dispatcher and pursued Trayvon Martin he became a stalker and a sociopathic killer.
Rhama, how foolish YOU sound when you convict someone without even so much as a hearing. Unless you were right there, you have NO IDEA what happened, any more than anyone else did. Still, you're sure he's guilty. Got a rope handy? You sound as evil as you apparently think Zimmerman is.
Paul, how foolish YOU sound when you claim someone has convicted Zimmerman, when they didn't.
Paul a sociopath is aggressive against society. Zimmerman attacked a police officer, charge dismissed because he entered into a program. Zimmerman attacked his girlfriend slapping her in the face at least twice, charges dismissed because he counter charged her with assault. Zimmerman had aggressive behavior against his wife. Zimmerman bodily threw a woman when he was employed as a security worker, and was fired as a result. These are documented facts. Zimmerman followed an unarmed teenager also a fact, on the tape, he was told the police did not need him to do that, then he shot the child and killed him, this makes him a killer. Self defense or not he is a killer. Zimmerman had all the choices. He could have stayed in his car, Everything I said is true, he followed (stalked) and he Killed. I never said he was guilty of murder, I said he was an aggressive (sociopathic) killer, that is a fact. You called me evil, because I spoke the truth. What is evil is killing a child when he the adult had all the choices. What is also evil is the many people who say a child deserved to die because an adult made the wrong choice and saying the parents are responsible for the death of their child when it was Zimmerman who killed him.
Thank you Rhama, I couldnt said it any better myself..
zimmerman did admit shooting the kid
Rhama-Those are some racist and bigotted remarks that your making when you have NO FACTS to support what you say. Your a bigger hater than you say Zimmerman is when you believe every thing you read in the media and don't wait for investigators to find the facts. But according to people like you whitey will never bring the fACTS when a black is a "victim". Why don't you step out of the fantasy world that some live in where they are always mistreated and abused etc..and never, never, never, get no justice!! Stand up and decry the black on black and black on white murders that happen every day! Zimmerman didn't step out that night hunting forTrayvon. TRayvons' parents shoud have grounded him for the school suspension instead of letting him wander at night by himself in a neighborhood he didn't know well and wasn't well known in. That for sure would have saved his life. But then we just don't discpline 17 years old for stupid behavior because why??? "The man" was after him in the guise of a school administrator therefore the suspension wasn't his fault??? His parents need to take some responsiblity here as well.
Rhama, your rope is waiting, along with your "hoodie. You've tried and convicted him, all by your self. Are you a member of the new KKK? Or would that be the Black Panther Party?
