The husband of Shaima Alawadi, Kassim Alhimidi, holds a picture of his slain wife at her father's house in Samawa, 160 miles south of Baghdad on April 1. Alawadi, an Iraqi-American woman who was beaten to death in her U.S. home is a possible hate crime victim, although new court documents raise questions about family members.
Court records released Thursday show that an Iraqi immigrant who was killed last month in her California home had a rocky relationship with her teenage daughter and apparently was planning to divorce her husband, NBC San Diego reported.
No arrests have been made in the killing of Shaima Alawadi, 32, who died from blunt force injuries to the head.
NBC San Diego said the records include the description from a neighbor of a possible suspect running from the area of the house on March 21 about 45 minutes before her daughter Fatima called 911. Fatima told reporters and police that she discovered her mother unconscious in a pool of blood in their El Cajon home. Alawadi died in the hospital three days later.
A "dark skinned male" in his "late teens or early 20s" was seen running from the area, NBC San Diego reported, citing an police affidavit for a search warrant filed in Superior Court in San Diego.
The affidavit indicated 17-year-old Fatima was upset about the family's plan to have her marry one of her cousins, NBC San Diego said.
It noted that on Jan. 31, Alawadi called the police to report Fatima missing. The daughter was located 20 minutes later and the call was canceled, according to the affidavit.
The document says police records show officers answered a call reporting two people were possibly having sex in a parked car — a couple identified as Fatima and Rawnaq Yacub, 21. After Alawadi arrived to pick up her daughter, the teen reportedly jumped out of her mother’s car when it was moving about 35 miles per hour and was injured. In the hospital, she told paramedics she was being forced to marry her cousin against her will.
A search of Fatima's cellphone showed that while the teen was being interviewed by detectives, she received a cryptic text from someone that read: "The detective will find out tell them cnt talk'," NBC San Diego reported, citing the affidavit.
A note left near Alawadi on the day of her death called her a "terrorist" and sparked the theory that her killing was a hate crime based on religious or ethnic bias. Police have cautioned against rushing to that conclusion, noting that it was just one possibility that was being explored.

The news site UT San Diego, which obtained the police records first, said a sheriff’s lab examination of the note showed that it was a photocopy of the message, not an original.
UT San Diego also reported that a search of the family’s cars turned up court paperwork — not yet completed — used to file for divorce. Another form requesting a waiver of fees had been filled out by hand with Alawadi's name, adress and phone number.
Alawadi's husband, Kassim Alhimidi, and Fatima are reportedly in Iraq, where they traveled for Alawadi’s burial.
The records initially were released inadvertently to UT San Diego by the the Superior Court in El Cajon, a press officer at the court said. Other press organizations were then given access to the information.

Whoa! What does love or hate of the white race have to do with "moving to America?" America is NOT synonymous with the whites. In fact, the people living here of "color" (since black was the original color of earth, white is "colored") make up at least 50% of the population (including the original people who own it).

I wonder if a usa military man should apologize for being disrespectful to the President of the USA and to Americans.
If you notice I am no longer a Military man, and I have freedom of speech, and can, and do voice my opinion whenever I wish. And what I said is not being disrespectful to Americans. Apologizing to the enemy for what happens in a war zone, is what is disrespectful to the American people and our brave military personnel.
Our military has gotten weaker and weaker from the inside out. The Commandr in Chief apologizing to everyone. Soldiers disobeying direct orders by leaving his post TWICE to kill people then returning and instead of his being shot on the spot (George Washington had to do it) for "desertion" in a war zone, he gets a trip back home with therapists stepping in to save his life.

The murder in AZ was a dad that drove a car right over his 18 yr old daughter because she did not want an arranged marriage and had become americanized......in other words an educated, young happy respectful girl. He killed her and now sits in prison.
These mideast people should not be allowed to live here if they do not want to be free. They cannot bring their hang ups and honor killing to america........check it at the border or do not allow them to enter. Heavy screening of the father that he is not mentally weird and he wants his family to be free. If this is what muslim is about, it cannot survive in this country.
The only hate crime here is that the daughter hated her mother for making her marry someone she didn't want to. Now we have another situation with the Muslims and that of marrying cousins etc. If this person is a first cousin that marriage is not legal in the United States. Now we learn more about why the Arabs are so inbred. Like the old country music song "I'm my own grandpa". I wil be surprised if the husband and daughter return for Iraq. But is they think this is being treated as a hate crime they might feel safe in returning. where's NBC I bet they can spin this and most like blame it on Zimmerman.

The 'training our troops' storyline may have been bad reporting. The family itself (via cousin Hussein) has said that the victim's husband has been on welfare for the last 19 years because of some disability.

The Bin Laden family disowned Osama years before 9/11 and had no contact. Obama is still in Iraq...but the difference here is GWB may have according to you made a mistake in Iraq(not in my opinion though bc of dead Hussein), but many of us see the mistake we made in America...Barrack Hussein Obama. so i doubt very much they will be coming back to America! Pretty sure she will have to marry the cousin after all and thats that. She wanted to divorce the husband, the daughter did not get along with the mother so we can pretty much again figure out the story here. Sad that she had to lose her life.

On the previous article on Monday when I theorized that it was the husband or daughter that beat her to death with the tire iron and then left the notes to throw the police off their trail, quite a few posters replied and stated that that was the most absurd theory that they had ever heard. Just another example of the news media judging the "crime" before all the evidence is in.
First --this woman was violating the Shira law by not being at her husbands feet subjugating to him.. She has sinned by being in a 'western" country and not enslaved in an islamic one. She is not allowed to file for divorce---Under islamic law the only "divorce" is a dead (former) wife. Also under islam two women are worthy of a man and as such this person was not "worth" a life. (straight out of the koran).
Therefore under Shira the family has an obligation to kill her. Since under the US laws killing a disgraced family member is not allowed---how else does one cover the obvious---blame the "INFIDELS". It's a no brainer that islam and the people of this terrorist religion are disliked (oops forgot B. Hussein is one of them) ----so why not put the blame elsewhere and get a bit of propoganda making the US look bad in the eyes of islam.

Jean, it is NOT true. the daughter did say she was being forced to mary her cousin. However, she did not say she was being forced to mary her first cousin. You just assumed that. "Inbreeding" is no more prevelent in the Middle East, than it is in Louisiana. And, their religion is all about the same things, all other monothestic relgions are about, controlling the useful idiots.
It's been my suspicion since first watching the daughter in the tv video that she was involved in the killing...
What I read about the daughter was to marry her cousin bothered me.. They have been inbreeding since
time began and with this belief, it will not work in this country.. We have laws and obviously these laws are
being broken all the time.. Look up inbreeding and see the degree of health issues children and adults have.
When Cultures absolutely don't mix, they should stay in their own country.. They will force police intrusion
into their bedrooms...Can you imagine the money to spend on their off/spring?

Jean, all that you said is bunk, espcecially the one about Muslims not being included in "obama/care" While it is true that Islam does see insurance as "gambling," there is no specific exemption for Muslims from the healthcare law.

I did read it. You got that claim from a chain email that was first blogged about on a RW site. You probably think the word dhimmitude" is on page 107 of the healthcare law, don't you?

Someone who "actually knows?" Read the fricken law yourself, it is available online. the law does provide a waiver for anyone who objects to it based on moral grounds. It does not specify any religion that is exempt from the law.
So it's an implicit exemption, what's the difference in practice?

Of course that is what happens when over a million legal permanent green card aliens are allowed into our country ecah year. There is not enough resources even if there were the political will to do what is right for the majoirty of our citizenry.
Not enough screening or checking of backgrounds. And once they come here, even though they are aliens and not yet citizens, it becomes almost impossible to deport them.
As this madness continues under the guise of openness, diversity, blah, blah, blah- it will hurt the nation ever more.

And, we had a lot of the intensive procedures waived, because I was in the military. And, it is VERY possible to deport "them," Not only possible, but very easy.

There is no way that 1 million legal immigrants can be properly screened and you know it. That is futher evidenced by the hundreds of thousands of visa 'overstays' that are yet to be deported. Hell , they don't even know where they are!
And rarely is anybody deported unless they have high level felonies and often not even then.
You can have your own little personal experience and bias , but it does not negate the big picture.
