Subscribe to RSSA 15-year-old girl was shot multiple times while she slept in her bed in Miami early Saturday, Miami-Dade Police said, according to an NBC Miami report.
There were no eyewitnesses to the shooting, but neighbors overheard the gunshots.
The shooter appeared to have approached the house and opened fire, authorities said.
The girl was rushed to Ryder Trauma Center with injuries. No one else in the house was hurt.

Yes, we should get guns off the streets and it should start in Florida where they seem to be totally out of control. Leave guns in the hands of hunters in the woods and the police and military. The only other reason to keep a gun is to kill another human being. We are the laughing stock of the world.

This is just another story where MSNBC HAS LEFT OUT ALL THE IMPORTANT FACTS AGAIN. You can read anything into it you want to. There is nothing to base a solid opinion on yet . Best to wait for more info before you draw any conclusions .

For all of you that want guns off the streets, in other words you want guns banned. Please tell us how you would accomplish this task? You blame the NRA but you fail to recognize the fact that the NRA is made up of many due paying individual members. Let’s say the NRA did not exist then how would you clean up the streets? How would you confiscate all the guns? Do you really think it would be easy to do this? Once you come up with a practical solution then get back to me.
There are a few things I can think of. Forbid the NRA to lobby our politicians. Put a high tax on the sale of any firearm. Follow through on investigating anyone who wants to purchase a gun. Confiscate the gun of anyone who kills another human being (like Zimmerman). Outlaw gun shows where there is little or no oversight on who is buying a gun; such as, the mentally disabled, criminals, and even children. We may not be able to get rid of all guns, but the more barriers we can put up will eventually lead to a reduction of the guns on the streets. The people kill people argument makes no sense because the use of the firearm makes it so much simpler than using a club or a knife. The gun can take out a bunch of people quite rapidly.
I have been to several guns shows and have yet to see a "child" walk out with a gun. As far as oversight as to who is buying a gun, I have bought a few guns and have gone through their background check and waiting period before I could pick that gun up. You want a solution to the gun violence, it has nothing to do with banning guns. It has to do with enforcing the laws currently in place and prosecuting to the fullest extent of the law. Whether you outlaw guns or not, guns will still be on the street because, just like drugs, there is a market for them and all of the laws in the world will not stop them from coming in illegally.
Sunset.... how about we just forbid EVERYONE from lobbying politicians. And that would include the NRA, the Brady Campaign, the Koch brothers and George Soros. And lets not forget the AARP, AMA, ABA and all the other acronyms I can't think of.
I don't understand why they shoot each other and yet all the big wigs aren't out there screaming to stop all of this from happening.
I guess in their eyes if they were out there screaming they would lose their voices so why bother nothing changes anyway.

Good point Bob; my sister was liberal anti gun until her welfare was threatened by a stalker and the first thing she did was go to big brother for a gun to have to protect herself. I was shocked! I gave her one. I doubt her mind has changed on politics, (one thing at a time), but they think they can force their own agenda on everyone else but when it comes to them it is a different story. You can bet Obummer has ARMED with MACHINE GUN Secret Service Agents around him and his family 24/7. Why should we not have the same protection and security, even if we have to provide it ourselves? XD I know that; however, it is a double standard that they are equiped and allowed to use said weapons and the liberals do not want to allow ANY weapon for a citizen's self defense. It was a point to make.
How do we know if this story is true or not? After all MSNBC already have been proven to alter their stories. I don't believe them, therefore I can't believe the story either.
Here we go again. The gun is no more to blame for shootings than the automobile is to blame for drunk driving accidents. It is the idiot supposedly in control of said item. There are more than enough gun control laws on the books to regulate the LEGAL ownership of firearms. The problem is, a criminal by nature does not follow the rules of society. Therefore, passing law after law will not deter any crime or make it more difficult for criminals to obtain firearms. 15 and 16 year old gang bangers have AK-47's, uzi's, etc. Do you think they went to their local gun store and purchased over the counter? Guns are easily purchased on the street, ILLEGALLY, by anyone. When you start enforcing the laws in place and presecuting those that break the law to the fullest extent, only then will it start to make a difference. More laws only punish those that are following the law to begin with.
This poor girl, shot while sleeping. Probably dreaming of a wonderful life ahead of her? Now, if she lives, she will be forever traumatized! Her family must be wondering why? Why their little girl?
We need to stop this senseless violence! Take back our communities from the thugs/gangs! Society can no longer tollerate this mindless behavior!

I have a weapon, and a permit to carry, but I never have the intent of using it just to be some kind of bad a$$. I keep it for protection for myself and family. If a criminal wants to get a gun he can, and he will no laws are going to stop that from happening! Why can't some people get that into their heads?
When will people understand that NO gun or any other WEAPON has ever murdered anyone without a PERSON operating it? We dont need more laws for criminals to disregard, we need more effective punishments to enforce the laws we already have. Why are guns being attacked? What in the Heck has Happened in Fl? I lived there in the 70's. I was a young girl walked every where, even at night. I never had any problems. Hitchhiked all over the place.
I was there in the mid 80's and couldn't even understand the language being spoken. What in Heck is going on?

Well considering he is paying for it with his own money and he is paying Americans to do it I say good for him, Further if you knew anthing about the elevator you would know that they are not really that expensive, They are used so that 2 vehicles can be parked in the same square footage of floor space, I happen to have one in my barn, It is no more than a lift like used in a garage where the vehicle is raised and suspended and another vehicle can be parked underneath it, Mine cost $2700, I am sure Romneys will cost a little more but who cares, I bet you did not have any problems with Pelosi spending $10,000 per night for her hotel room in Hawaii or Michelle Obama costing the taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars more because she wanted to go to hawaii for her vacation early and not wait and go on AF1.

This is a tragedy that this young girl was shot, I wish her a speedy recovery and hope the person responsible is caught and justice is served
Now if she had only gone to sleep with her gun well maybe this would not have happened.
And if you ban guns well then that shooter would just have thrown a ninja star through the window and back boarded it off the wall to land in her rear so banning guns does nothing.

Drive a car into the house(ban cars)
Burn the house down(ban matches, lighters, anything flammable),
Beat down the door and hit her with a bat(ban those) or stab her(ban knives), smother her with a pillow(ban those)....
