I have to wonder that if children were better informed as to their chances of encountering perverts on these sites they'd stay off. Now that schools are educating children how to use computers and internet access they should also be alerting them to the dangers and their parents ought to monitor the on-line visits and who they are communicating with. Most parents have no idea what is available to their children, as the kids go online. The schools should be spending some serious time better explaining the world to their students, and it might not be a bad idea to have some forums the parents could attend, so that they could learn the threats their kids encounter in using the computer.

I have two daughters, one just turned 11, the other will be 10 this month. They both have computers, connected to the internet. I know their every move. I know where they've been, what they've said, who they talk to, screen shots of their web pages. I'm telling everyone who has children, do not take their safety for granted. Even though my daughters have not searched a porn site (or the like), I feel at some point, as they begin to pick up more of this kind of stuff from their school chums, they will get curious and want to know what it's all about. At that point, when I see this in my logger program, I can have a heart to heart talk. I use a keylogger program, that records everything. Yes, it is spying on my children. But, if it keeps them safe, then I'll spy on them 24 hours a day. I will not ever believe that these keylogger programs should be used on a spouse, or anyone who is of age, where you just feel it is your right to know what they are doing or going. That is being a control freak and violates their rights. So, only use these programs for protecting your children, not for spying on your spose. Never take your childrens internet use for granted. It may not be their fault they've become exposed to a pervert.

So it's another day in Perverts Paradise, and I'm ecstatic that this guy has been nabbed, but still I wonder: Why are these teens willing to go there in the first place? I realize that 'porn' draws the largest of all Internet hits, but I still wonder about their mindsets at the time the first event takes place. I must admit that I've never been interested in Internet porn and I admit to being of advanced age. However, I am trying to wrap my head around the "why" of the matter. Where are their parents? Ive noticed a # of my nieces and nephews with their smart phones. . .they can't do anything but handle their phones and are downright anti-social as a result. After watching that series "To Catch a Predator" on Dateline years ago, I realized these people are driven by a sickness they literally can't control. Kids should have their computer use monitored by their parents. Kids should not have computers in their room, they should use a computer that is in a family room or other family space so that parents can easily keep an eye on what they are doing. Letting kids have internet connected computers, or even smartphones that can take and send pictures, in their rooms is a recipe for trouble. In our highly connected world, parents need to be extremely diligent in keeping an eye on what their children are doing on-line.

Wrong Soverign. I grew up without a computer or cell phone and did just fine. Parents are responsible for the tools (webcams and cellphones) they provide to their kids. If you are going to give your kids access to a cell or computer, monitor them and teach them the good and bad that comes with these electronic devices.

I'm sorry but I am sick and tired of reading about all of these kids doing stuff like this when they shouldn't. Isn't it the job of the parents to teach them not to put naked pictures or videos of theirselves out there on the internet? Yes, I'm old at 42 and I didn't have the internet at home or a cell phone but I had something a hell of a lot worst, Mardi Gras. People think I'm nuts because I didn't attend a New Orleans parade until I was 16 yo and it was with adult supervision (older siblings). I was also told that you don't show your stuff (boobs, etc) because at the time you could end up having a picture taken. Then that went to you could be caught on video, and now it's the internet. My parents cared about me and knew where I was and who I was with. That is what is missing is a lack of parental involvement.

I do not agree with people putting a computer in a child's room, they need to use one in the family room, kitchen or den; where they can do homework but not have the privacy to get into trouble like this. We, as parents, seem to think once their child reaches a certain age, that they become old enough to take care of themselves. Please, they need attention as pre-teens and teenagers as much as when they were toddlers, because they can get into worse situations as teens than they could as toddlers. Sound too stifling or invasive........too bad; parenting a teen takes more than providing a home, meals, clothes and a ride to soccer.

An overprotected child is a helpless child that is at a much higher risk of being victimized than someone that knows about the world around them, not to mention being more "socially adjusted" to the real world. There are a lot of people here that were raised in a different time and are themselves sheltered from the world around them which makes it even worse on the kids because the adults they look up to are victims (or potential victims) themselves.

I was unfortunately a victum of scum like this when I was a child. I suffered for almost 14 years of abuse like this. I cannot describe what it did to my life. There are many days that I would just as soon have died when I was a child. These bastards murder the souls of children and the children will never be the same. They will go thru life with so many problems to try and deal with. It creates trust issues, self-worth issues, and we suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder for life. I was a pacifist, and surprised to realize when I had children that I was capable of killing to protect them. Saddened...I, by nature, am a very level headed and calm person (anyone who knows me would agree) and in terms of other crimes, I let the legal system do what its best at. However, again I will use MY children as my only example of the exception to me rule: If you or ANYONE ELSE did this to my kids, I would not hesitate to take you out. Crimes against children will always be a sore spot to me on most levels but if it is my children in particular? Yea...I would do what is necessary and would sleep well right afterwards. I am constantly stupefied how those without children and even some of those with children will neglect the most base priority of being a parent and crimes involving children. Our children need to know they are safe in their homes and communities. It seems for those of you who have risen above the rest of us and wish to treat even the lowest of creatures, who would imprint fear, mistrust and shame on children. These filthy bottom feeders take pleasure in exercising their dominance over children who do not have the coping skills to deal with such threat and violent attack. When a child is attacked or abused or violated as an adult, parent, child advocate I know it is important to instill in children that there is no room in a polite and loving society for those who would creep into the safe zones of a child. It is to our society to first meet the needs of a victim...above all else meet the needs of a victim. These children will forever be scarred by this cretin and in order to show children that they do come first and no one is afforded grace or civility if their intent has violated the safety of home or community a child when the horrors of that abuse can play over and over in their day and night mares...

There are some really horrible people in this world who will abuse children, hurt children, sell them into bondage and repeatedly tear away at their little hearts because they some how feel they are "above" the rest of us and can pretty much get away with anything.....If we wish to be a greater society and elevate our community above the fray then we must address those who would tear away at the very soul of our society by inflicting hurts on our most vulnerable. We must expel them from our existence in order to assure our children that their safety is so much more important to our greater good than the existence of a human virus in our midst.

For those of you with such compassion for the criminal and a fleeting concern for his victims....rest assured there are children who will still not come forward because of embarrassment or shame inflicted by this POS...let him be held to a public display of humiliation, degradation and punishment so that those who haven't the fortitude to come forward can sleep at night knowing that this filthy pedophile will not creep into their dreams any longer.

Yes I'm sure their hormones are playing hackysack with the logical part of the brain but if you walk into a bees nest you should expect to get stung a little. This man is at fault for his disgusting actions, but if the kids hadn't posted themselves nude on the internet they wouldn't be in this horrible situation.

Now my second thing..What abot the parents...One person states that a 14 yo does not know right from wrong while another states that his 8 yo has been trained to use a gun and kill if necessary...Which I highly doubt, He also stated that he himself was doing porn at 16 and is retired at 32..does he consider being in prison being retired? Anyway my point is I monitored my kids and TAUGHT them right from wrong...and never laid a hand on any of them...Parents should be doing that same thing...you can still be a friend and you know what ..friends make sure other friends do the right thing.
