MINNEAPOLIS -- A woman who became suspicious and called 911 after dropping her son off at a suburban Minneapolis day care provider's home stayed on the line as she went back to the house and discovered three people shot to death, according to transcripts of the call.
The Brooklyn Park Police Department released the transcript of the call that took place Monday, minutes after investigators believe a lone male fatally shot DeLois Brown and her elderly parents.
The transcript provides a chilling account of how the mother became suspicious after seeing a man in a hooded sweatshirt and a glove on one hand on a bicycle outside Brown's home. She told police she called Brown to warn her but spoke to her only briefly before she heard the word "no" and the phone went dead.
When she turned around and returned to the house, she spotted the man riding away with something under his coat. Her alarm grew as she told the dispatcher that her son was inside and that the door was open.
Police were still searching for the lone suspect in the shooting deaths of Brown, 59, and her parents, James Bolden, 82, and Clover Bolden, 81.
'No! No!'
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner said Wednesday that all three victims died of gunshot wounds, and that Brown and her mother had been shot in the head.
The caller stayed on the phone with the 911 dispatcher while she went inside to see if Brown, her son and the others were OK.
She quickly found her son, who was uninjured, but she couldn't find the day care provider right away. She called out to Brown repeatedly, her voice imbued suddenly with horror as she came upon Brown and her parents in a bedroom.
Zimmerman to plead not guilty to second-degree murder
"No! No!" the mother exclaimed to the dispatcher. "They're in their bed. ... There's blood all over them."
The dispatcher instructed the woman to go outside. The transcript shows her crying and praying as she called to her son and told him to get in the car as police arrived on the scene.
Prosecutor: Doctor shoots colleague dead, then kills self
Police are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case. Authorities were still saying little else about the slayings because the investigation is ongoing.
Inspector Todd Milburn said authorities are still looking for a man in his 20s who they believe fled on a BMX bicycle. He was wearing jeans and a blue sweatshirt or jacket with a gray hood and white stripes on the back near the shoulders.
Quiet neighborhood
Milburn said police do not believe the suspect was still in the immediate vicinity, and they were working with a number of agencies on the case. The FBI said it was providing assistance to Brooklyn Park police when requested.
The triple slaying is not related to the death of a woman shot in a domestic-related incident Tuesday night just a mile and a half away, Milburn said.
Police: Tulsa shooting rampage suspects confess
Ashantai Finch, 32, died of a gunshot wound. A man was arrested in that case and remained in custody Wednesday pending possible charges.
"We're focused on solving both crimes, both events," Milburn said. "That's our focus right now."
Milburn said both incidents happened in neighborhoods that are relatively quiet and have few problems with police.
Monday's homicides were the first this year in the Minneapolis suburb. There were five killings in 2011, but Brooklyn Park reported a 20-year low in overall crime in 2011.

What is the race of this man, and I mean that for identification purposes ONLY
...but he was wearing a hooded sweatshirt. Isn't that all we need to know???
The shooter was black. It's called profiling, and it works.
Unless it was Eminem!
Well that's a little close to home. My in-laws live in Brooklyn Park, and my wife and I have been telling them to get out of there for 15 years.
Kookla09,
The article stated, "..the mother became suspicious after seeing a man in a hooded sweatshirt..."
I was wondering why they didn't use the term hoodie, which is the fashionable, current-day name used for a "hooded sweatshirt".
"Hoodie" is the latest word to be banned by the word police. Absence of the race of the perpetrator tells us what it likely is. Remember this is MSNBC - tries to set the standard for PC.
I own 2 "Hoodies". Does that make me a Male black killer?
I owned several hoodies, as did all of the soldiers in the military. We wore them in the winter time while doing physical training (PT). Most of us were not black males, however, the ones that were sure looked suspicious in them (joking!!).
Racist pigs just can not stop being racist. One jerk said profiling works, lol yeah we should profile all white guys, who walk with little girls, because the world knows white guys are full fledge molesters, or worse canibals. There was a story about this one white guy who killed his girlfriend then ate her. sick mofos the whole cursed lot of you!
I cant tell them apart anyway hood or not..
We are smart, we only kill what we are gonna eat. It isn't just a sport.
TarZan you are correct the molesters usually are white as are the kids that go in and shoot up schools. It is profiling and it does work. And yes carjacking and random acts of murder usually is black males. You dont see people complaining about black females randomly attacking people. Profiling works. And black males will kill you for $1.50, whether you are black or white or yellow.
Not if you consider underage rape..
its called common sense. where there's smoke there's usually a fire. people who look like they're up to no good, usually are -- as was proved by this story. an awful tragedy
eyerish11 "What is the race of this man, and I mean that for identification purposes ONLY"
Here is a quote from another news source;
"Witnesses, including the 911 caller, told police they saw a black man, in his 20s, wearing a blue jacket over a gray hooded sweat shirt, riding away on a BMX-style bicycle with something under his jacket."
It appears that msnbc is being 'politically correct' in deliberately deleting the race of the suspect. It would be too 'inconvenient' to describe the suspect as 'a Black man wearing a grey 'hoodie' ', just like they deleted key information in the Trayvon Martin case to manipulate the story.
Perhaps they should get some REAL journalists to replace the current biased crew.
One thing is guaranteed. This will not be on Lawerence O'Donnell, he will not say hoodie or have people on his show wearing hoodies for this one. WHY?
Darned if you do and darned if you dont.
So apparently hoodie profiling worked in this case. Things that make you go hmmmm....
UncleBen-3793367
The shooter was black. It's called profiling, and it works.
The poster is white. It's called racism, and he's a racist.
How do we know the callers really saw a black suspect, or only saw the hoodie and assumed the suspect was black? Until they have a suspect that is what I'll believe.
Often on the local news they show video clips of convenience store robbers. Often they are wearing hoodies, and clearly for the obvious reason of concealing their identity to the camera and because a lot of people wear hoodies. (Years ago the video clips had guys wearing baseball caps and sunglasses.) Whites, Hispanics and Blacks are in the clips.
Can anyone tell me how wearing a hoodie has anything to do with race?
How's this, Michael....
If the police don't use things like 'race' when trying to identify suspects, then they'll probably never apprehend anyone (except by sheer luck). By using characteristics (which you racists love to call 'profiling'), reducing the number of possible suspects can only improve the detective's chances of finding out who committed this crime.
Without those little things called 'facts', they'll never have a suspect.
I hope that dum mass congressman wears one to session again today...
Is that a WHITE woman hugging and showing compassion for a BLACK woman?? Say it isn't so! I thought whites were ALL racist!
Some of you look for any reason to express your racist opinions. The media outlets don't always release a suspect description because they may not have one. Has that ever crossed your minds? Or just maybe they don't want some thick headed "vigilante" out stopping people. Since when has the media tried to protect a person of color or for that matter anyone by being politically correct?
Remember the Oklahoma city bombing? First suspects were "Middle Eastern looking males", then two Middle Eastern looking males and an "Hispanic" looking male, then it was the Nation of Islam.....
Yeah they are trying real damn hard. Stop trying to vilify an entire group of people because of the current actions of one or a few.
@Karlez, there are GOOD Black people, as well as GOOD white people in America. But you don't seem smart enough to think that DEEP. For you to even mention that proves your ignorant, and a bigot!!
Stop trying to provoke people troll. You know full well that All doesn't apply to anyone or anything. Just because racists(regardless of skin color) come to blogs and make stupid comments doesn't mean that everyone suscribes to that mentality.
Look this article deliberately left race out of the story. If the biker had been white the race would have stayed in the story. It is like that with and D and R regarding political parties. The R is ALWAYS used if the article is bad, but a D is never used if a democrat is in trouble. It is time we start pointing this out on a regular basis - fairness of course.
hey michael-
It is called profiling and it works!
Your tired "racist" retort wont work now since I am black. If someone shot my friend I would be first to "profile" them saying what color they are. i guess the woman should have never told them what color the shooter was, right? Lord knows if she mentioned that he was black (which he is) she would have people like you shouting "PROFILEING" and "RACIST"! Idiots like you are more racist then the people you are pointing fingers at.
Mackman, I think Karlez was being sarcastic, the 'my heart be still' schtick. I had a black man tell me once that there are black a))holes, white a))holes, and even Chinese a))holes, his way of explaining that color doesn't matter, that people are people with all of their faults and frailties no matter what race. What I'd like to know is this. The vast majority of the random acts of violence are commited by men. Is there a epidemic of tetosterone poisoning!?!? I mean WTF, it seems to be a daily occurence.
i think karlez was being sarcastic to prove a point to people like Michael. Stop harrassing her, it is true
As Obama would say, (when it's convenient) "let's don't jump to conclusions." Or, if the killer happens to be black will he say, "If I had a son he would look just like him."
@
karlez
Is that a WHITE woman hugging and showing compassion for a BLACK woman?? Say it isn't so! I thought whites were ALL racist!
It is amazing seeing that the general school of thought is that all blacks are criminals.
Is anyone besides me wondering why the mom dropped the kid off at the house without making sure the babysitter came to the door? I don't care how well you know them, you still make sure they come to the damn door. What if the kid saw them in the bed.......horrific!!
Hey floyd, did you forget to take your medicine today?
You"veGotMail
Thats the first thing I thought. What is up with that. Did she just open the door, let him in and leave especially after seeing a suspicious person.
Too bad they didn't have a neighborhood watch volunteer on the street.
karlez, beware of using humor in a posting. Especially sarcastic humor. It doesn't always seem to fly in these forums. My personal theory is that w/o seeing the body language &/or facial expressions, a lot of people seem to latch onto the literal meaning of the wording used, & run w/ that.
damn...profiling can be tricky, after all
you see, there have been multiple cases of men being arrested for raping little kids in my area lately, and all of them happen to be black....as are most of the sex offenders who reside in my area
but I don't expect MSNBC to notice much
The perp was outside at the time she dropped off her child. She then called and spoke to the provider to warn her-heard her scream "no" and raced back to find her dead. Nowhere does it indicate she did not make contact with Ms. Brown when dropping off the child. Please read before commenting.
All of you people are crazy! The Vine has become impossibly tangled.
There are more collapsed posts than reasonable ones everyday. I worry about us as a society.
Oh, I'm getting something. The perp and Trayvon were both human. And get this: they were both wearing shoes!!
Profiling Works!!!!
OMG it just figures that MSN would conveniently ignore and not publish the FACT that the suspect IS BLACK, and yes, he was wearing a hoodie. Even the uber liberal Minneapolis newspaper identified the suspect as being black. You know, kind of makes it easier to find the perp if you know more about the person you're searching for. So now you're saying we shouldn't identify murder suspects as being black when they're black? Because that would be profiling and racist ?!!!??!!!. Unreal.
I'm sorry Al and Jesse will not be there. the shooter was not white
"hooded sweatshirt" Why do they put that in there. It's as if it's the new identifying marker for murder suspects. I'm throwing away my hoodies and just paint a target on my back. It's a pretty twisted society when dip @!$%#s like Geraldo provide warnings to not wear certain type clothing to be safer. It's a good thing for him that they don't shoot hack journalists.
This is one case where Al and Jessie will NOT appear and call for 'justice'..........
All the people in the case were black.
This is pretty much the only source that has mentioned that. Blacks killing Blacks Al and Jesse are perfectly OK with that. That is why they aren't there.
Of course, the article clearly states the woman saw a male wearing a hooded sweat shirt wearing only 1 glove. HMMMM, now if the woman saw him wearing just the one glove, then surely she saw the skin color of the suspect. Leave it to the left-winged, liberal media to omit that part from the article.
Is this a racist hate crime? Will we see Obama, Spike, and the NAACP up in arms over this crime?
Just asking a real question.
Greg, on the same note will the Black Panthers put a bounty on this man's head? I mean he killed 3 upstanding citizens.
It is truly amazing how much the community loved this Lady while I didn't know her (I do live within 5 miles) she must have been a saint.
msnbs is only pc with blacks.
I hope it's not another crazy pale face going around shooting colored people...
MSNBC cracks me up. They would state that a white person had commited the crime if that were the case. By omitting the color/race it is assumed to be a non-white suspect. There was a multiple homicide in California at a school in the past week and the suspect was immediately described as Korean in a MSNBC article! Imagine that! But he also wasn't wearing a hoodie.
You people are @!$%#s your using this familys tragety to go on rants about race when you should be talking about how @!$%#ed up this situations is, empathizing with the family, and asking how can we stop this kind of senseless violence. I bet most of you posting are twice my age and half as mature.
HAHA , weird the media and black leaders used the Martin tragedy to go on rants about race, now you think there should be a different standard?
Tom - Plymouth
I think it is the liberal teachers that have taught the youth that everyone should be equal. The problem with that, as I see it, is that we are not. There are what could be called "@!$%#s" in all races. I do not mean that derogatory to blacks at all, and I have never used the term to refer to blacks, but I will use it to refer to parts of all races, and I think it is undeniably true.
What really bothers me about this story, because I grew up in the area, is that it went from having neighborhoods that the kids could play kick the can outside until two in the morning and only being afraid of getting to the can last, to being afraid to walk outside in daylight. Brooklyn Park is filled with people of all nationalities, and some are clearly a waste of skin.
Brooklyn park went from being a relatively happy, affluent community to a slum in twenty years. The plague is spreading.
Why use it at all? There's a history there and it sounds like you're just looking for an excuse to use the word. Find another word that can be used ubiquitously across the races like POS motha F'ers. It's offensive but doesn't pertain to a specific race. I think people may have different ideas as to what profiling means; one use is perfectly legitimate and then it can also be taken too far. There's gotta be a balance and it definitely will not be found on the Vine.
To all of you folks who are accusing MSNBC of having a bias as the reason for not mentioning that the alleged perp was black, you need to realize that this article is a verbatim report written by the Associated Press. It is, word-for-word, the same article being carried by most media outlets everywhere. The only ones I have seen that mention the color of the man's skin are in the Minneapolis media, where the local media outlets (a) don't have to rely on the AP for their reporting, and (b) have a plausible reason to mention his skin color (i.e., in the hope that someone might spot him or recognize the description and call police).
So you would all make yourselves look a whole lot smarter if you got off MSNBC's back on this one.
TarZanSmaKer, you're suspended for a week for violating #1 and #5 of the Code of Honor.
JQ 12261891
I don't use the word in general, but the funny thing is, if I do, it is usually preceded by a defined race, and rarely ever black. I don't have to use the word, I own many others, but instead I choose to have nothing to do with them.
.
The Plot Thickens This thread is another plant by this media source to provoke racial tension. This incident happened on April 9th and barely made the news. Why else would it make National news now, if it wasn't intended to stir the pot? This piece has proved, to me, the reliability of the news one gets from this source and it is always necessary to check local media news to find the real story. This thread is not media spin, it is down right hate provocation!
I like to read the news here because I wish to see the spin from many sources and try to find some truth in any of it. It is getting more difficult all the time. It is always us against them, left against right, them that pays vs them that don't. I do, however, see that there is no commonsense left, our people have been so brainwashed they just follow the leader with no vision, what so ever, what the real world will look like when they reach the end of the rainbow.
For those post asking why there was no other description of the suspect, other than what he was wearing, it was conveniently left out. The article in the Minneapolis news on April 9th said, it was an African-American male. My question is, how do they know the Suspect is American or African or male for that matter? Maybe the suspect is a dark skinned Puerto Rican woman.
THIS COMMENT will be collapsed or delete to cover up the Truth.
P.S. Flash, new sources describe the suspect as a Black/Caucasian
@paul...you're absolutely, totally, 100% correct when you state that....
"This thread is another plant by this media source to provoke racial tension."
the media is just stirring thte pot in order to cause friction among the people, and the sheeople are falling for it hook, line and sinker...shame...
Seriously?
My experience has been that people in general tend to be prejudiced, and when there is an outlet that allows one to remain anonymous, they'll write pretty much whatever they are thinking. Some of them are Trolls, but the remainder are expressing their true feelings on the matter.
I also thought it was interesting that this is now internet news, I saw this story on the local news days ago.
I agree Paul.... It seems that the main ploy of the "news media" now is not to report the news.... however they are great at spinning small edited clips and sound bites that are aimed at certain portions of the populace in an effort to stir up a stink! What can you expect when cronies capitalist corparate America has bought and paid for the news! (Check out just who owns the news agencies now days...)It is all in an attempt to pit one group against another.....and it seems to be working according to most posts I read on these sites. The story has remained the same for eons... divide and conquer ...Its a smoke and mirror show for the masses that hides the true end game from the sheeple and keeps the herd moving in the direction of the....Figuratively speaking..slaughter house. (Jesus just think of the hate posts coming with that last line..lol) But make no mistake... there is a hidden agenda and as long as they keep the smoke and mirrors up the masses will remain docile! Time to wake up America... Its getting late!
I heard the president just made a news release that if he had a son it would look just like the person on the BMX bike........
FYI..... A potential suspect is under survelliance by the SWAT team as you read this...... NOT JOKING !!
Charles, I agree! This article is intended to do just that, stir the pot. Something which is uncalled for in light of the situation in Florida. They should be trying to defuse the situation instead of inflame it, but apparently that is the agenda.
P.S. you caught me, I am a troll, most of the time. I like to take the pulse of my fellow countrymen, I have found our blood pressure way too high and we continue to be fed the wrong medication for it.
A black guy did it! Throw another one in jail! Just snatch up the first middle aged black male on the street and close the case.
Obama/Biden 2012!
No you fools! This is getting more coverage because they released the 911 call. This story has "legs" because of the unusual aspects. Take your heads out of the conspiracy crap and look at the known facts. A witness saw something after dropping off her child. She called the victim to warn her and heard something odd. She then calls 911 while returning to the scene. She actually saw the suspect not once, but twice! Her child was not hurt but three others were murdered. This kind of crime with a suspicious witness who acts on her thoughts does not happen every day. It is a terrible tragedy but at least the witness and her child are safe. And it is a compelling story...
NB.. While i don't disagree with you... it is compelling and truly a terrible tragedy. However I don't where a tinfoil hat, or rose colored glasses..... but I don't walk this life with blinders on either my friend. Can you not see the selective "news articles" that are highlighted from various sources on any given day.... and can you not see the big picture they are painting for you! Stop looking at the pictures my friend and do some research on the artists... you will be amazed!
I wonder how long her son would have had to sit all alone ina crime scene had the mother not been suspicous of the kid wearing a hoodie hanging around outside of a home he didn't belong at... If she had listened to the "I am Treyvon Martin" types she would have just gone on to work assuming that the young man was riding home with his skittles and iced tea. She had no reason to call the sitter, the guy wasn't doing anything suspicious per se, just sitting there on his bike. Good thing she did though, too bad it all happened too fast for the police to arrive.
Paul, problem is that if it went UNreported, then the media would be accused of stirring up also. The victims family and friends would wonder why Trevon got all of the attention and the 3 that died today didn't get any news coverage.
Why doesn't black on black crime get covered more? Why doesn't white on white crime? Why wasn't their a huge outcry when my brother in law (Hispanic) got shot and killed by an illegal Mexican? Thing is that murders happen everyday and the news media would be reportin murders constantly if so. Kids are kidnapped and killed, people raped and beaten EVERYDAY. They are only going to continue to report what "sells". Stirring up the public is what sells. it is a sick world!
Dude, if this is a black-on-black crime (and see if you can follow my logic here) IT IS BEING COVERED!!!
You mouth-breathers need to come up with some new material.
@Ciewywtb42mh6sps-23
You are a good example. There was nothing in this article about the race of the victims nor the killer, it was ASSUMED by people like you, unless you checked the local news source as I did. Now, what made you assume that? Couldn't be that you are the real racist here?
From that description, they'd have to be stopping any guy on a bike who looks to be over 18. Good luck with that search if they are anywhere near a college campus. Was he 5' 4" or 6' 2"? What if he changes clothes or ditches the bike? I hope this guy is found soon; otherwise, every guy is a suspect.
As far as his height goes, that would depend upon the picture they use. Is the picture current or five years old?
Did he...or did he not have skittles?
Bulldog dude--
I almost fell out of my chair laughing. LOLOL ROFLMAO!
Truly pathetic racist crap.... You should be ashamed, but I am quite sure you are too idiotic to realize your own pathetic, stupid selves....
@bulldogdude, do you, or do you not have a BRAIN....LoL if you do, it's very LIMITED!!
Essie, as it should be, all should be suspect, unless someone actually steps up, grows a set, and turns the guilty one in. I'm sure someone will see the blood on his clothing, or notice that he is not quite right emotionally, unless he's so hardcore that it didn't bother him to kill these three people.
And no, it didn't say in the article that the mom met the daycare keeper at the door. It just said she dropped off her son, drove away, then called Ms Brown to report the bicyclist. So, my question was also asked by someone else above, didn't she walk her son to the door? Did she not speak to the daycare person at the door? If she had, and had seen the bicyclist, it would have/could have been mentioned at the door!
I am DEMANDING AN IMMEDIATE DOJ, FBI, investigation.!!! This needs to be done, YESTERDAY.!!! Pray for those left behind from this HORRIBLE trajedy. This world is so evil:(
Patricia Larsen-
There is no reason to assume she didn't walk her son to the door and speak to Ms. Brown there, and it stands to reason that she did not see the bicyclist until after she had already started walking away from the house.
I can't imagine how the mother must have felt afterward. Some odd mix of horror at having found three people she knew dead, and relief that her son and the other children were okay.
She saw a black male wearing a hoodie and got suspisious, according to Lawerence O'Donnell she should have ran home and felt bad for having racist thoughts instead of calling the police.
why does their have to be racism. what will you earn in life. now everyone hates you, your not trying to be a good guy by being racist, you are now a damn threat to society, disgracing our muti-racial/muti-relgion country...
I find it distressing that because of all the racial tension in the country right now..that they failed to say the race of the person who shot and killed the three day care providers..that is usually one of the ways to help find or identify the culprit...but they can say zimmerman was white without saying he was really hispanic...are we just looking at things thru the wrong lense just to be politicly correct in a time when it would seem that one race now is being blamed for things being fanned out of controll by another with such biased reporting..like I said just to be policticly correct ? if the killer was white they would have come right out and said it..so it's obvious he was not a white person...shame shame shame on them.
Tim cox ... Yes, shame on them! Yet you are partly right and partly wrong ... that is, well before this whole Trayvon thing exploded, I became acutely aware of a pattern of intentional 'race identity exclusion' in the news when the culprit is known to be black. I live the the DC area where the majority of crimes are by blacks, and first took note of this at least 10 years ago!
Kind of ironic isn't it? people can't even use the age-old English term now, "To call a spade a spade" because of the ethnic slur implied today. That is, when in fact, to 'call a spade a spade' "... is actually to speak honestly and directly about a topic, specifically topics that others may avoid speaking about due to their sensitivity or embarrassing nature. Brewer's Dictionary of Phrase and Fable (1913) defines it as...
"To be outspoken, blunt ... to call things by their proper names without any "beating about the bush".
i.e., so one might say in this case, if not the trend, to identify a perpetrator for what he or she really looks like to help find and bring them to justice gets a pass — all in the name of politically correct racial sensitivity.
Just saying...
With the exception of a couple of years in a Midwest city, I have lived here ALL of my life (Born and raised in DC). They ALWAYS say what the race of the suspect is if they know. Stop playing that game Breccia, because what you just said is BULLS_IT!! As for the term "calling a spade a spade" people do STILL use the term. But it makes you feel good and big to continue to perpetrate that LIE.
The other thing is, this is NOT about an unarmed child walking back to his family's home, it is about however someone that was doing something EVIL. I hope they find him and I hope they convict and fry him if they can. And I don't give a rats behind what color the perp is. Someone that would do something like this is a danger to EVERYONE!!
Well said, tiredvoter. That is how most of the posts SHOULD read, if there wasn't a hint of racism in them.
If I felt the least bit "suspicious" about any surroundings, I would never, ever leave my child. Race, hoodie -- all of this jargon is irrelevant. We understand the terms "instinct" "gut feeling" -- even a "mother's instinct." The mother felt suspicious ..... heads up -- don't leave your child in that environment. Even if your suspicions turn out to be incorrect, err on the side of love and caution when it comes to your child. If the woman felt suspicous, she should have called authorities, with her child by her side. Who was protecting the child??
@Tim how is it so obvious that it was not a white person? White people commit crimes everyday, the only way this crime rules out white people, because there where no bite marks, or it wasn't a sexually molested kid. The leader of the KKK went beserk on white woman once and bit her nipples off, a bunch of sickos I tell you!
Tired, you are correct about the race thing being a none issue. I also have no problem with Zimmerman being charged with murder but I do take issue with people like you and the media refering to Little Trey Martin as a child. Martin was 17 yrs. old he was no child. Many 17 yr. old young men have been prosecuted as adults in this country. Martin did not deserve to be killed (?) but he was far from the little saint he was painted to be.
Tim:
msn did not say zimmerman was white, they said he was a white/ hispanic as his mother is spanish decent and his father is white. So in the same respect that would make me a white/indian/english, portugese, irish, (like harps lager), huron. So for short call me a PEHWII, not to be confused with the video console.
They just really like to get crap started. wheres all the news about the two chinese college students killed?
Powell is even still making the news. did you hear, they found his wifes blood at his house. nutz i might as well read fox news.
I find them always pulling out the hooded sweatshirt so funny, just because my daughter wears hooded sweatshirts and it is the in thing for her and her friends to pull the hoods over their heads. We do not live innercity, but they want to have the "Thug" look so bad it isn't funny. My daughter is so white the she has to tan to be considered albino, so people not only black scarey people wear hoodies with the hoods over their heads. Before anyone starts the liberal bull_hit I will tell you I am very conservative I just have issues judging folk by the clothes they wear or how they wear it.
Well that's the new thing now...leaving out what race the criminal is means he/she is black.
Thomas,
Spanish people from Spain are European and are Caucasian. Spanish is not only a language but also a Nationality. By saying that Zimmerman is Spanish and white make no sense whatsoever.
@Carol - she didn't notice the suspicious person until after she dropped her child off. She then called the police, turned around and tried to call the daycare to warn them that there was a suspicious person. While she was on the phone she heard the daycare provider say "no"
WeAllHave..."Thug" look?
How old are you? It's not thug, it's "gangsta rappa" look. (LOL!)
Hey, there was a black model that cooked and ate her new husband back in the 90's, and there are still cannibals in Africa so stop hating on white cannables...
And blacks, hispanics, and Asians have just as many molesters and rapists, it just goes unreported more. Try working at a shelter somewhere. Just as many blacks as whites and all have the same horror stories.
I do think it is funny that they didn't portray the shooter as a black man, and they didn't say "hoodie". Sometimes wearing a hoodie is suspicious. Like when i saw a guy wearing one yesterday when it was bright and sunny outside, and a cool 90 degrees. My first thought wasn't suspicion, it was stupidity...
Tiredvoter said "The other thing is, this is NOT about an unarmed child walking back to his family's home, it is about however someone that was doing something EVIL."
However, at the time, the witness saw someone wearing a hoodie looking suspicious; in this case, it turned out to be an evil person; in Trayvon's case, not so much.
Just for argument's sake...what if, in this case, the witness was armed and followed the guy on the bike...could three deaths perhaps have been avoided? No one can say for sure...very few things in this world are purely black and white (no pun intended).
I guess nobody has considered that there may have been conflicting witness accounts... OR that they may be trying to withhold information due to already having a suspect they are trying to apprehend...
BUT... It may also be race-tension provocation.
My Prayers to all the friends and families directly effected by brutal crimes! And to all you Race baiters, killers.and Media outlets. May God have mecry your souls! YOUR THOUGHT ARE WHAT MAKES YOUR LIFE!!!
Haters
"....so white that she has to tan to be considered albino..." I'll have to remember that one!
Miss Lydia, people from spain are NOT caucasian. some are paler than others but they are not white.
Oh yes they are, Sherry. You're in denial!
People from spain are Not Caucasian.
The Spanish Constitution of 1978, in its second article, recognises historic entities ("nationalities", a carefully chosen word in order to avoid the more politically charged "nations") and regions, within the context of the Spanish nation. For some people, Spain's identity consists more of an overlap of different regional identities than of a sole Spanish identity. Indeed, some of the regional identities may even conflict with the Spanish one.[clarification needed] Distinct traditional regional identities within Spain include the Basques, Catalans, Galicians and Castilians, among others.[120]
It is this last feature of "shared identity" between the more local level or Autonomous Community and the Spanish level which makes the identity question in Spain complex and far from univocal.
Do not be racist with me and learn facts
One thing I find curious in this is, she heard her say "no" but heard no shots. Did the killer have a supressed weapon and was this a hit by a payed assassin?
I live in Brooklyn Park. Some people ride their bikes to school or work here, but riding so early on such a cold morning is not very common, so he must have ditched the bike and dissapeared into a building pretty quickly. Anyone riding a bike that morning would have to have their head covered. What I find frustrating is they are not saying anything about suspected motives. Can't forensics tell if it looks like the entry to the house was forced or not, and whether anything was missing from the house? Paul's suggestion that it was a paid assasin is interesting - but why wouldn't such a person do this in the middle of the night? An assassin would know that they do daycare and that clients might be coming to the house in the morning. This person is sloppy - he almost got caught. Seems more likely to me he was breaking in and thought the house to be vacant or more likely that he knew these people and had a reason he wanted them dead, and reacted emotionally without much planning. It's very sad - I hope they catch him soon.
"Inspector Todd Milburn said authorities are still looking for a man in his 20s who they believe fled on a BMX bicycle. He was wearing jeans and a blue sweatshirt or jacket with a gray hood and white stripes on the back near the shoulders."
Wow. That is VERY curious that they didn't list the race of the person, then ask for information leading to the arrest. Why would they leave out the race? Obviously, that was given in the description by the woman. Leaving it out is purely intentional. So why did they leave it out? hmm?
Glad I'm not the only one that noticed that.
Why is it obvious? Did she say what the race was? I read it twice to be sure I did not miss anything. Tell you what, find a link to the station in that city and give it to the rest of us and then we can get the full report. I would like to know who this piece of turd is. But until we know for sure, try to be civil.
It's funny, when I read the article the race of the person never crossed my mind. I was just thinking about how horrible this incident was.
It might be because I don't live in the area, so I am not the "look out" for anyone.
I thought it WAS obvious simple because they didn't mention the race of the suspect... what good is it to look for someone if you don't even have this basic aspect of their description?
By doing a google search I QUICKLY found a local news article that had the EXACT same quote from the police inspector, except it said "black man in his 20's"... more selective editing from our race-baiting media.
BTW, all three victims were black as well... but black on black crime stories don't increase web traffic.
http://www.startribune.com/local/north/147060305.html
Tiredvoter - there is a link to the local paper.
Several reasons why sometimes we don't jump the gun unless its official on the race of the person, one, there was a history of white saying the black man raped me, and it was a witch hunt for anyone that looked black or any minority. 2, does it matter if there is no valid description to just assume? What if hes mixed, or tanned, if its not clear please dont say, the black boogeyman did it because we as a society fear them.. Come on people what are we 12?
Mistrust, statistics and fear are all different. I can see what is going on, and because of that I mistrust. Doesn't make me fearful.
Thank you Natedom. That is what I wanted, a source I could go to and get the FULL story as it is at the moment. I hope they catch that scum sucking turd and please please let them have the DP in place. He is what that was meant for. With that description they should be able to find him.
Didn't this like happen last week or something...or was that another daycare place that got shot up??
This happened on Monday. It seems whoever wrote this article decided to skip a lot of vital information. The Minneapolis newspaper, the Star-Tribune has alot more facts than this, including a description of the guy, and the fact that the woman who reported this followed him to a WalMart before she entered the daycare.
This is pretty sketchy reporting at best. The older gentleman was 81, an amputee who was blind and his wife, also 81. My first thought after reading the Star-Tribune article is that they may have known the guy who killed them since a crippled blind guy isn't going to be much of a witness, unless he could recognize the voice.
Well, the picture says it best, doesn't it? Black and white in the same boat so to speak? The non PC is Brooklyn Dark is what I'm told. More anti gun catnip from MONDAY? Good job msnbc. How about the white dude that was shot for his bike by three young pranksters two days ago? Never mind.
Why was Rhianna there? (check picture there she is on left) Also wouldn't have happened if Zimmerman was there,he hates guys with hoodys.
Bill, Rhianna now owes you a butt kikin at the least. Before you said that I thought she looked pretty good and had to scroll back up to see. Seeing her thru the Rhianna lens, she went from Beyonce to Bigfoot in less than 5 minutes. Dude! You could screw up a W*T Dream!!!
I failed to notice Rhianna, but I did spot Bruce Villanch, in the middle.
bill, You need your eyes checked, man! That young woman in the picture is far better looking than Rhianna. She isn't wearing "hooker" gear with professional lighting on her.
Why do you think that particular shot was chosen?
Unreal. Fn' coward.
Doesn't mean that because the guy was outside the house that he did the killings. It could be that he simply robbed the place because the door was open. His wearing a glove is neither here nor there considering the weather these days.
The thing is that they are going to have to determine how long the people were dead.
Were there any gun shot sounds? Why would the shooter enter and leave from an area where it is possible that he could be seen? Were the murders committed while the child was on the premises? Did the child see anything? The age of the child was not mentioned. Where was the child found? Was the child hidden or was hiding? Did the woman escort her child into the house or send the child in on his own? Was the child received by the caregiver? How long before the mother returned to the house?
It was a day care so wouldn't it be possible that other parents would be dropping off their children etc.... Could it be possible that the person went in and saw that the people were dead and left quickly?
Could this have been a murder suicide?
A bicycle used as a get away vehicle?
Wearing a hoodie and one glove looking like the person has something under the coat and riding a bicyle does not make it that the person observed was the shooter.
The whole situation is quite odd imo.
All of these questions are answered on another site that I found with two clicks. This article left all that stuff out.
Did you miss that the suspicious mother called the day care provider after she dropped off her child to warn her about the suspicious guy outside? And that when that call terminated abruptly (with the woman saying 'no') she returned immediately to the house, saw the guy leaving on his bicycle and the door was now standing open? Kind of don't think it's a murder suicide, there was enough information in this pathetic article to debunk that theory.
BZe1, You are missing the obvious. Do you really need it spelled out? The three dead people were the only others in the house besides the child. That means they were fine when the woman dropped off her child. She saw something that made her suspicious and acted on that thought. She called to warn the daycare operator, heard her say "no" and the line went dead. She called police and saw the "bike guy" leaving the house. She went in and found her child and the victims. Need more dots?
NB... was the child in the house when the people were being shot?
Was the shooter already in the house when the child was sent or taken into the house?
Was the shooter already in the house when the mother and child arrived at the house?
Was the shooter outside the house when the mother left her child at the house?
Did the mother actually see the daycare giver and the other 2 people in the house before she left the home?
If the shooter was outside the house or was arriving when the mother was leaving the house wouldn't he/she must have noted that a child was also going to be in the house?..
How old is this child?
Was the child hiding? Was the child hidden?
Where was the child found? Did the child witness the shooting?
Why leave the child alive, who could possibly identify you?
Did the mother who left her child at the daycare see the face of the person?
Who was killed first? The other 2 people in the house and then the daycare provider?
Did the daycare provider walk in on the person doing the killing in the bedroom and then got shot as well?
Is she sure that the person is male as opposed to being a female?
Females also wear hoodies, gloves, and ride bicycles.
These questions were simply based on the information was presented in the article. If the article was updated since early this morning then perhaps more info is now known.
Just because the person was wearing a hoodie and a glove looking like something is hidden under the coat outside or riding away from the house does not make that person the shooter imo.
There are many questions that need to be answered before determination is made how the killings occurred and whether it was a crime of opportunity or whether it was premeditated.
This is to say let the police do their investigation and that it is not for us to rush to judgement on who did what to whom, when or where after whatever.
Haven't we already seen enough of what being judgemental can cause in our society?
Peace....
ok, so what i am curious about is how if she saw the man outside, when did he go inside? Did she leave the premises completely? And if there wasn't that much time in between when she dropped the child off, to the time she called them, did she actually see the people when she dropped off her child? How did the man on the bike, get from the bike, into the house, and corral all of these people into the bedroom, shoot them, then escape on the bicycle. Lots of wholes in this story. I think there need to be an extensive investigation.
What did the child see? Does this mean he will grow up and shot up the town?
This story doesn't add up right...there has to be more, limited information written.
As far as Zimmerman and Martin,
Zimmerman broke the law of Stand Your Ground.
He initiated by hunting the young man down with a gun.
Zimmerman was a predator, even if he was on the phone with 911.
The kid never had a chance, because Zimmerman had a lethal weapon.
Trayvon Martin tried to defend himself,
and more than likely did not want his family endangered by this predator.
Trayvon Martin was Standing His Ground.
Vigilantes are not legal law enforcements. The police were on their way.
Zimmerman illegally took matters into his own hands.
He is responsible for the death of Trayvon Martin.
It is always best to let the police handle matters.
Trayvon Martin probably would still be alive if Zimmerman wasn't a zealous vigilante.
The kid didn't deserved to be shot dead.
Zimmerman's poor choice of bringing a gun into play is his responsibility to bear alone.
He caused this tragedy. He needs to pay restitution to the kid's family
and face the legal consequences if his poor judgement.
He knew what he was doing.
Trayvon Martin Stood His Ground, caused by Zimmerman.
Zimmerman probably would have never approached Martin if he didn't have a gun.
No matter how tall Trayvon was, or why he was with his father, it should not factor in.
Zimmerman had no rights to approach Martin, especially with a gun.
Too many Fn guns in this Fn country and what does George Zimmerman have to do with this? Al Sharpton and his phony black cronies stirred up a lot of BS in FL in front of the socialist TV cameras for attention. News! Like the Rodney King and Tawana Brawley circuses years ago. Special prosecutor Angela Corey charged Gorge Zimmerman yesterday, a day after it was publicly announced six foot tall gorilla Trayvom Martin attacked George Zimmerman from behind, broke his nose and nearling killing him. He was arrested to quell violent riots throughout the USA bt black mobs. The Black Panthers put a bounty on George Zimmerman's head. The socialist news media feel riots and looting make better news than what? Afghanistan? Iran? North Korea? Black Americans don't know where those countries are, what threat they are to the ghettos or how they can get on TV again. BTW the so-called parents of Trayvon Martin, Tracey Martin and Sabrina Fulton shacking up to look married now say George Zimmerman shooting Trayvon was an accident. They don't really want Zimmerman in jail, they just want him to take the blame because what they really want is Zimmerman's money. A crimminal conviction would nulify a civil conviction. The so-called parents can't to sue George Zimmerman for loss of Trayvon if he goes to jail. Society won't punish him twice for defending himself. That's why OJ Simpson was aquitted. His slut wife and her BF's families wanted OJ's wealth him punished in jail.
Wearing a hoodie creates a Pavlovian response from the public; we see so very many security videos of horrible murders and robberies each time the perpetrator is wearing a hoodie. Our brains have equated a hoodie with potential danger. Why can't the black community consider this when they're protesting outerwear?
Annie, hooded sweatshirts have been around most of my almost 60 years. And as long as I pay for it with good ol government green, I will continue to wear my hooded sweatshirt. A good portion of you white people have concerned yourselves more about an article of clothing that can be purchased in almost every store that sells clothes, than you ever did about whites running around with hoods fashioned from sheets. Yall need a 12 Step program. Here is a first step for you.
1. I admit I am addicted to being a racist, I have an I'm white, I'm right mentality.
OMG he was wearing pants too. You know how all of those thugs love wearing pants. Let's see if the american black community can change thier pant wearing ways.
Michael - racist much?
"A good portion of you white people have concerned yourselves ..." Your words, NOT MINE!
Okay now I'll ask the question the elephant wants to know: How come ONLY WHITE people are racist and YOU AREN'T? Racism is racism; done by ANY group against any other group. Hate is hate and knows no color or ethic. I was taught better by my parents. Apparently you missed out.
RACISM: noun
1. a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others.
2. a policy, system of government, etc., based upon or fostering such a doctrine; discrimination.
3. hatred or intolerance of another race or other races.
(directly from dictionary.com)
YOU perpetrate the stereo typical - you owe me. I do not owe you JACK! Move on with you life. Marry for love, go to school, raise your family well, love on them, teach them difference of right and wrong. For heaven's sake - MOVE ON WITH YOUR LIFE.
What's weird these days is that people wear these damn hoodies when it's 85 degrees out, hood on! I'll never figure that out, along with those stupid knit hats(the one's that look like they got it from their grammy). My head just itches thinking about wearing one of those. Especially in 80 plus weather. If that's fashion I guess I'll remain unfashionable. And I'll never own a hoodie because I don't like the "perp" look!
well Michael - where are you now? Fast to answer, quick to disappear.
@Guntoter- it was far from 85 degrees in MN on Monday; in fact, I cut my evening walk short because it was too cold and windy out, even, gasp, with a hoodie on. As a lifetime Minnesotan, I can tell you, sometimes hoodies are the only reasonable outerwear, as it is often too warm for a winter coat, yet not warm enough to go without a coat. I wear a hoodie all the time, I don't consider it to be a "perp" look, but then again, I take the hood down if I walk inside a building, and I don't go skulking around peoples yards.
Um, it's not just Blacks, it's White's, Hispanic's and so on. But race shouldn't have been mentioned at all. It doesn't matter what color his skin may be. What matters is the cold blood that runs in his heartless veins!
God be with this poor woman, and those poor children who heard the gunshots. Hopefully the community will come out to support one another strongly during this horrific crime!
...but, were his "pants-on-the-ground?"
Texas grace, you missed a key point in the first definition you provided: "usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others."
This country is still majority White. Anyone not Caucasion is considered a MINORITY in the USA. How many US Senators are not White?
How many Fortune 500 CEOs are not White males? Have you heard of this concept called the "glass ceiling"? Are you aware of the disparity in wealth between White and Black families? Are you aware of the practice that was exposed some years back in the auto business that revealed that White males paid the least for a new car while Black women paid the most? White women and Black men were in between on the gouge scale. Have you ever been followed and watched like a hawk stalking prey when you were shopping? Have you ever been stopped by police and had your car searched while not breaking any traffic laws?
Are you aware that Blacks are given less comprehensive medical care than Whites, even when being treated by the same physicians? Did you know that Black males are treated far more harshly by the judicial system than White males, even when they have similar backgrounds and criminal history (or lack thereof) for committing similar offenses?
If these kinds of things are not explained as a by-product of institutional racism, then what does explain it? Perhaps the term "racism" itself is misunderstood. It does not mean that every White person simply hates anyone not like themselves. There are far more less obvious biases that WE ALL HAVE that tend to hinder "minorities" far more than "majority folks". When you are in the majority, you control you gets hired or promoted. You make the rules. You benefit you own first. Anyone who says otherwise is a liar. That is not specific to any group, but when "White" is the majority, guess who benefits first and most?
Sorry NB820, your facts and logic will not get through their empty skulls, best to just let them live in their bubble
I agree. Wear no clothes at all....or at least switch to spandex 2 sizes too small. Hoodies are chosen by gangs of all types so ban them all.
Let's outlaw hoodies, and lets outlaw all headgear that may obscure part of the person's face.... and wait until the middle of next winter and see what happens... Nothing like frozen ears and noses to get a person's attention.
Lets outlaw gloves... after all the person was noted to be wearing a glove. So what if your digits get frost bitten and fall off in the winter months..
Lets outlaw bicycles.... after all the person was noted to be riding one. Walking is slower but just as good and can get you where you are going too...
Lets outlaw raincoats with hoodies attached or winter coats with hoodies attached. Who needs to be sheltered from the elements?
Lets outlaw scarves that could be wrapped about a person's head and face just like the hoodie.
Lets outlaw woollen caps after all they can be used similar to a hoodie.
Lets outlaw ski masks after all it covers the face.
Who needs to keep warm in the winter months or while skiing....
Lets outlaw sunglasses.... it obsures the face to a certain degree.... so what if you need to protect your eyesight from strong light.... who cares.
We need to get rid of umbrellas too as they can be used to obscure a person upper body if held just right... lets all get wet together...
Lets go wild here and blame the clothing rather than the purpetrator of the crime. After all it is the hoodie that committed whatever crime.
Let outlaw guns... after all it is the gun and not the person pointing the gun that did the killing. As a matter of fact lets outlaw bullets... it is the bullet that killed the other person....
Let send hoodies to fight crime and wars..... just fly an aircraft over the enemy and drop them on the enemy. We can even send them warning that if they do not stop what ever they are doing we will send in the Navy Seal hoodie...
Lets start on the slippery slope to hades together..... clothes will not last long there anyway including the evil criminal hoodie.
Peace..... LOL....
Another hoodie wearing thug, arent they all? Stereotypes all have some basis in fact.
I have hooded sweatshirts. Only an idiot would tie in that fact to a type of individual. But too many in this county have the brains of a rock.
Almost every american wears a hoodie so are you stereotyping all americans now?A person posted early hoodies are standard in military ....so most of america is hoodie wearing thugs ?
Good grief! Three people were brutally murdered; the children in the daycare were traumatized; the woman who called 911 and found the bodies will relive that horror repeatedly. And all you can talk about is hoodies and RACE? What is wrong with you people? Have you no compassion?
Jan, I certainly agree with you. How messed up some of these people's lives must be. Some of the comments are pathetic.
I agree 100%. Both parents and their child (albeit an adult) were horribly killed and all most people are commenting on is race. Sad state of affairs today.
Agreed - this is not the time or place, else this board becomes a hate group of Shiite - Sunni societal outcasts.
Texas, you are correct,BUT that is the intent of this thread
They talk about race because the race card is played whenever it suits people like Al Sharpton, and Jesse Jackson. Such as in the Martin and Zimmmernan case, which had NOTHING to do with race! Where are AL and Jesse now, why are they not there consoling this black family, and DEMANDING the perpetrator be caught and fried? Because it does not pay their bills, or incite riots, they have nothing to say about this case, oh and the person in question is black. They simply want to stir up racial tension, media gets ratings, Al, and Jesse get $ donations, not the right way to end racism in this country!
No Paul that was the intent of the article and the way it was written.
Rick, you are either blind or a liar. I saw Al Sharpton speak with Martin's parents yesterday. Perhaps you missed it, but I think you should try to hear what he had to say. He said nothing about inciting riots or hate. He spoke about letting the system proceed as it should. He refused to claim victory or celebrate. He reminded all that a young man is dead and that the parents had always called for an arrest and trial. They (parents)never called for violence or revenge. The incident may or may not have involved race. That is why a trial was sought. Can you explain why Zimmerman referred to Martin as "these a$$holes"? Why did Zimmerman assume that Martin was up to no good and was on drugs? Are you aware of how many times Zimmerman called police previously to report "suspicious Black males"? Do you know how many times he reported a suspicious White or Hispanic male?
That is exactly what is wrong with people, no compassion, no common sense, judemental. No one ever stops to think of the trauma/stress/grief that the families of victims endure....until it happens to them, and then sometimes they still don't get it!!
Doesn't surprise me that MSNBC left out the race of the suspect (Al might get upset and throw a tantrum.) What does surprise me is that they didn't say "George did it." (Take your pick, Bush or Zimmerman.)
Doesn't surprise me that a person like yourself wouldn't notice that the article comes from the Associated Press.
You sure you want to stick with the anti-lib moniker, or go for accuracy and switch to pro-dumb?
"Guns don't kill people, people kill people." Whatever! Guns certainly make it a whole lot easier for one person to kill another person (or in this case -and many other cases like it- for one person to to kill several people). Why is it so easy to get a gun in this country but so hard to get a good education or affordable healthcare?
Annie, you (and Geraldo) cannot blame a piece of clothing (hoodie) for anyone's death. An article of clothing is merely an article of clothing, whether it is a pair of pants, sweatshirt, bandana covering a portion of their face to hide their identity or a ski mask used for the same purpose. The article of clothing is NOT responsible for their murder or the possibility that they might commit murder. It is just a piece of clothing - an inanimate object.
Now, as for the "guns that don't kill people; people kill people" idea, that certainly is true. Guns, in the hands of people, other than police, happen to kill people with the bullets in those same guns. What I have noticed lately is there happen to be a great deal of incidents published on the web, in the newspapers, and on the news where children have had access to parent's guns and turned them on themselves (for whatever reason), others they know and strangers and this has become a tremendous problem. How about we lock up the guns from our children, just to keep them safe? How about some common sense and less fear with strangers wearing clothing?
Lastly, if this woman though there was something wrong, why on earth did she take her kid inside? There is absolutely no job that important.
One thing I can not stand more then a baby rapist is a Conservturd. Your type is really a plague to mankind, bush sold his soul and you morons continue to support him. Only if I had a shoe, duck this teabags.
@Margo - she didn't think anything was wrong until after she had dropped her child off. That was when she noticed what she felt was a strange person. She tried calling the daycare provider and while on the phone heard her say "no" and the call was dropped. She then called the police and returned to the house to find the bodies.
There ya have it...He was wearing a HOODIE? What more do you need? The fact is that 95% of the crimes committed are committed by people wearing hoodies. This country is sooo upside down, kids are being expelled from school for weaing a T shirt that says "God Bless America" but if you become suspicious of a person in a hoodie then you become the crimminal. Inside out-upside down, that is what BO wanted to do to this country and that is what is happening.
The woman who called 911 better hope that it was not a black guy cause she will have the black panthers after her and Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson too.
beanne ... excellent comment, but needs an edit!
"This country is sooo upside down, kids are being expelled from school for weaing a T shirt that says 'God Bless America,' but if you become suspicious of a person in a hoodie then you become a ... racist profiler."
Sorry all you PCs ... I think I'm gonna play it safe, and go with the statistics and my gut, and will rightfully be concerned and suspicious when I see a person with his hoodie up when it's not cold, not windy, or generally not needed ... and BTW, who also just happens to look like he's not in the right place!
Just saying...
beanne:
I can't find a thing about kids being expelled from school for wearing a T-shirt that says, "God Bless America". Please provide some supporting data.
She may be referring to an article on The Blaze where students were prohibited from wearing t-shirts with the American flag on Cinco de Mayo in the Morgan Hills School District (CA).
Beanne: Please cite the sources of the statisics to which you refer, stating that "95% of all crimes committed are committed by people wearing hoodies."
@Breccia - except that it was cold and windy on Monday. It is April and MN and I would say at least 50% of the people outside were wearing hoodies that day.
beanne,
You are so wrong that you are pathetic. 95% of crimes are not solved, so you have no idea what the perpetrator was wearing. You may want to stay far from construction sites or a whole lot of projects will not get completed. You will spend the entire day calling the cops or shooting at carpenters, laborers, masons, electricians and everyone else, because they often wear hoods on site. Your post indicates sheer ignorance on your part...
@tiredvoter-951582 ... yeah well, no game ... i've lived here (DC area) since '74 and ABSOLUTELY started noticing the trend (~10-15 years ago) for certain news orgs, to NOT report/describe the perps as black when they are/were ... pay attention now and you will see. Not all, but many! ... and NO you cannot use the phrase, 'calling a spade a spade' without some oh so PC knucklehead looking at you sideways wondering whether you're a racist!! because that's all they know the phrase to mean now!
@natedom ... my comment wasn't limited to this incident in April, MN. look no further than all the gangsta rap videos with their hoodies acting all BA and intimidating with their pistol-shaped hands and signs, um, in controlled climate studios! knucklehead. Duuuuuh!?
lol i would say 95% of americans own a hoodie, military, athletes, my grandma, my pastor. geesh
How reliable is the woman that "found" them? Have phone records supported her claim to be talking to them when the line went dead? Do we "know" that her child was there and not in her car when she called 911? Do we know if she might have been in debt to them for back payments for child care or accusing her of neglect or abuse? Could she have been disposing of the gun and on her way back when she called 911 and used the discription of the "suspect" as a diversion to keep eyes focused else where? Her discription is very detailed for someone who was worried about her child, she paid a lot of attention to the detail of "his" attire instead of breaking speed records to check on her child's safety. Things that make you go Hmmmmmm.
**nightfixer** I think you may be asking the right questions here.
Yeah, right. I'm sure when I go murder someone, I'll take along my baby with me. And I'll leave him in a blood soaked house while I make a phone call. Doesn't make me go hmmm at all. I think you're on a completely wrong track.
I had to consider those same questions. One must explore all possibilities. I certainly hope that is not the case though.
Nightfixer,
Wow, you should be a detective. I had to read this 3 times, and you're so right with what you said. The logic is there with everything. They should check into this further.
How long had they been dead when the police arived? Had anyone heard gunshots? Where there other children in the daycare at the time? More and more questions come to mind about this story....
Agreed.
I do believe this guy will get away with murder. The police can't go after him since he was wearing a HOODIE because that would be PROFILING
Rich Ha, you are truly have some issues mentally.
Let me correct my post before the grammer police come after me.
Rich Ha, you truly have some issues mentally.
it might be a minor and in america it is wrong to follow them now. the possible future problems outway the risk
Tax payer subsidized child care. The photo tells the real story, Jerry Springer Types. Add a hooded suspect and the assault on obama's people, where is Al Sharpton?
He be on da way
Yep agree with you rich ha! Martin was a thug and Zimmerman was WITHIN the CURRENT law when he protected himself from that thug. I believe this lynching, er "trial" of Zimmerman will be a J.Jackson 3 ring circus.
Martins PARENTS made this about race, so if you want to bitch about it being about race, then take it up with them. The father LIED on National TV, that they did not make it about race, and YES they did! What else are they lying about their thug son.
Isn't it funny. NOW the black leadership is calling for them to be calm. They screamed and threatened loud enough that everyone backed down. What a joke.
Steven and Kelson, Zimmerman is a racist murdering coward. end of story
I still say I would love to have a guy like Zim patrolling my neighborhood. Possibly this horrible crime could have been thwarted if a guy like him was patrolling their streets.....
Steven, did you know Trayvon personally? How do you know he was a thug? Because, according to Zimmerman, he "looked black"? Sounds to me like he was the one who made it about race, not his parents. He is the one who shot an unarmed kid and no matter what the race of those involved, he needed to be held accountable.
Guess you never saw the story that CBS fired an editor for cutting the audio of the Zimmerman 911 call? Of course not... the media buried that one. His comment "he looks black" was in response to the dispatcher asking him whether the suspicious person was white, black or hispanic... the CBS editor cut the dispatcher's question out making it sound like Zimmerman said that immediately after stating he saw someone suspicious.
So you are privy to all the investigation material I guess Michael-528853 in order to make that determination. You must be one of the police officers that arrived on the scene or maybe you're a DA with access to all the material needed to decide that Z is guilty. Or, just maybe, you're god and witnessed the entire thing. Somehow, I doubt any of those to be the case.
Michaels a racist....Michaels a racist...Michaels a racist...Michaels a racist...
Michaels a racist! Your racist against non blacks.
Steven100,
Where is any proof that Martin was a thug? Is it simply because he was a thick headed teen that alows you to lable him as such? Was he a thug because he was Black? How do you know Zimmerman was merely protecting himself? Was that before he decided to persue Martin? Was that before he labled Martin an "a##hole"? Wasn't Zimmerman protected by keeping his distance and staying in his vehicle? Who decided to give chase ON FOOT? Who demanded of whom "what are you doing here"?
Under the current Florida law, you cannot initiate a confrontation and then claim self defense...
This will get solved the old fashion way; informants.
Ban handguns.
Guns don't kill people, Hoodies kill people.
Ban handguns toted by dum masses...
Don't worry people. Eric Holder and the JP will be all over this just as soon as it gets more air time and can be manipulated somehow into a political issue.
sad
Another "innocent" hoodie wearer.
There is something fishy about this story.Stay tuned.Does not sound right.
the only fishy thing is that MSNBC leaves out the pertinent details that the local news gets right.
Where's Jackson and Sharpton outrage over the killing of 3? I guess there's no publicity or money in Black on Black murders.
How soon these racist fools forget.
Susan Smith: A black man with a stocking cap carjacked my car with my kids in it.
Michael, Your point is? Three people are senselessly murdered but since the perpetrator is black it not a crime right?
Where in the article did it state the race of either the victims or the suspect? I am neither a teenager nor black and I wear hoodies quite often, as do most of the people I know... regardless of the color of their skin. The fact is, an armed man killed an unarmed kid and he needs to be held accountable for it. Just as in this article, three people were murdered and the killer needs to be brought to justice. And to navyvet: Susan Smith lied. She was the one who murdered her children and was sentenced to prison for it.
That's his point... it is NOT stated anywhere in THIS article what the race of the suspect is. However, every LOCAL article about the incident states that police are looking for a black male in his 20's. Curious how that little tidbit gets dropped from the national news stories...
Plus, on the day these murders occurred it was a little warm to be dressed up like an Eskimo. The hoodie is handy to hide your gun under. So is a business suit, but I think it is unlikely that this particular murderer will be wearing a suit until his trial. Witnesses described this guy, and they didn't say a middle aged white guy in a business suit. Young black man with a hoodie. The majority of the witnesses being black. I don't think it was Eminem.
I know you don't WANT it to be a black man with a hoodie, but the sad truth is that young black murderers dress that way. % of black murderers in Minneapolis? About 80% or more, and most of the murders are black on black. Instead of worrying about racism, maybe it's time for "the community" to aid the police in cracking down on black on black crime. The local nickname for the mighty Min is "Murderapolis", and more than once the State Police (highway patrol) officers have been called out to aid the local police in going after gangs after the murder rate pushes record levels.
@Steve- I don't know where you live, but I live in the Minneapolis area and it was certainly not a little warm for a hoodie on Monday; in fact, I cut my evening walk short because of how cold and windy it was.
Also, this didn't happen in Minneapolis, it happened in Brooklyn Park, which is a suburb on the northern side of the cities; I know for those who aren't from the area, Minneapolis is the only city that exists in Minnesota, but in reality, the metro area is actually quite large.
I bet michael got "his" pants on the ground...
Natedom: I'm North of the "metro" and to "outstaters" Minneapolis is slang for the whole steaming pile. Nobody is immune from gang violence. I spent the day outside in a t-shirt diddling with my hot rod. 30 years of sled dog racing may have made me immune to the cold. I collapse if it is over 60. So you are probably right about the temperature.
However, what is your point? Is it so important what the murderer was wearing? Are you denying that Twin Cities "young urban troubadors" go around wearing the thug look all year? Everyone realizes that clothes make the man. I have about 5 hoodies in various stages of deterioration. I rarely wear a glove on only one hand, and I don't go into a day care and murder people.
I'll bet you, though, that the majority of violent crime in the 494/694 loop is performed, aided and abetted by persons fitting the published description of this idiot.
Where are you headed with your fashion critique?
informix,
Have the police caught killer in this crime? Did the killer tell police that he did it but it was self defense? Has an investigator decided that the killer should be charged but then get over-ruled by the prosecutor? Has it been two weeks since these killings? Has the police chief told the press that the killer will not be arrested because he has claimed self-defense? Is there a history strange behavior by the Brooklyn Park Police Dept?
Did you know that Trayvon Martin's parents asked for help from Al Sharpton becuase they felt that their son's killer was being given a pass? (He was, it turns out). They had insisted from the start that they only wanted Zimmerman to face the judicial system instead of no process at all.
@Steve - where was I headed with my fashion critique? I didn't realize I had given one, I simply stated that it was not a bit warm on Monday to be wearing a hoodie. However, given the temp of hte day, a person in a hoodie shouldn't, in and of itself, be seen as suspicious. I don't even know how many hoodies I have, and I was wearing one, with the hood up, while on my walk on Monday. In fact, my husband joked about it . The one glove thing is a bit strange, unless of course he happened to be digging in his pocket or dialing a phone or something when she saw him.
As far as your assertion that the majority of crime in the 494/694 loop being done by those fitting this description; the description given in this article, would have fit 90% of males outside in Minnesota on Monday.
