The answer is simple, rent control laws that make it affordable for people to live. Open up more land and build more housing so rents stay low. Government needs to stop kow towing to rich developers and landlords.

Banks should have to renegotiate any mortgage as long as the person is willing and able to pay something. Losing your job, should not cost you your home and all the equity you have in it. It is banks unwillingness to renegotiate the terms of a mortgages that is causing this, and there will be more of this, that you can count on. Laws need to change, and favor people instead of institutions. Mortgage laws totally favor the lender, and thats not right.

Police officers have become so arrogant if you walk up to talk to one on the street they grab for their gun and stiff arm you to stay away. Cops carry guns to kill not to help people. The best advise I have to give is never, never talk to a cop without a lawyer present and the second thing is to get a weapons carry permit and a vest and practice, you must level the playing field. I have never seen a police officer help anyone I have seen them shoot unarmed individuals twice. Police by the orders of the 1% are allowed to assault peaceful protestors with pepper spray, taser, tear gas an night sticks and you have to understand that police live under a different set of laws than non-pollice officers or 1%ers. The have a license to kill and will use that right as the feel fit with no recourse by the victim of the police officer. When you spend you life pushing people around you had better expect that some day the pushing will stop. Life by the gun, die by the gun.

Was the eviction that necessary? Could they have just sat and waited? Did anyone try to talk to the guy first? Or did they just go in start ordering? I think there are to many police just saying it's our way or no way without any regard to the 'human equation'. Treating everybody as if they were a potential violent criminal. My sincere condolences go out to the families of the victims that lost their lives. I am a landlord myself and there is always a remote risk when attempting to serve an eviction of a tenant for non payment of rent. I believe this was an isolated incident. Probably one of the most single contributing factors that cause this kind of violence that esculates into a loss of life is the economic conditions. The people that commit these crimes are also victims themselves in a sense due to being casualties of the recession. Many of these people are experiencing job losses, working part time and for less money and have lost their homes, so they blame the system for their problems and act out against anyone that is in a position of authority. They are people that are desperate with no hope for tomorrow. All parties involved are victims themselves. As the economy gets worst there will be probably more of these kinds of incidents.
