Top US military officer: 'We let the boss down' over prostitute scandal

New details are emerging about the widening prostitution scandal involving 11 members of the Secret Service and U.S. military, and investigators are looking into the possibility that there were even more men involved. NBC's Kristen Welker reports.

Army Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, has admitted, "We let the boss down" over allegations of misconduct involving prostitutes against at least 10 U.S. military members at a Colombia hotel on the eve of President Barack Obama's visit over the weekend.

Dempsey, the top U.S. military officer, told a Pentagon news conference Monday that the leadership of the armed forces were embarrassed by the scandal, which also involves 11 members of the Secret Service.

He said he regretted that the scandal had diverted attention from Obama's diplomacy at a Latin America summit.

"I can speak for myself and my fellow chiefs: We're embarrassed by what occurred in Colombia, though we're not sure exactly what it is," Dempsey added, according to NBC News.

Former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino, who worked in the presidential protection division, shares his view of the scandal involving at least 11 Secret Service personnel and more than 5 military personnel.

Pentagon press secretary George Little said that the military members who are being investigated were assigned to support the Secret Service in preparation for Obama's official visit to Cartagena.

He said they were not directly involved in presidential security.

The Secret Service sent 11 of its members - including agents and uniformed officers - home from Colombia amid the allegations.

Several locals told NBC's sister network Telemundo that the Americans had been to a brothel on the outskirts of Cartagena where they were drinking, partying and watching a strip show, before bringing women back to an upscale beachfront hotel near where Obama was due to stay when he arrived the following day.

Elite Secret Service agents among those suspended

The brothel was called the Pley Club.

The Associated Press and Reuters contributed to this report.

This is so hypocritical. U.S. Military men have been banging hookers for ever: in Europe during the World Wars, Korea, Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand, or anywhere it was legal or condoned. It is widely known about, and totally overlooked up and down the chain of command for probably 250 years.

So now, we have one group, associated with the president, and it is NOW a major problem? How were they to know when it is so widespread and accepted?

Some people can't just see things as they are. You can try to pin this on the president but truth is, the president is irrelevant in this case. People cheat. People pay for hookers. Had the one guy paid, this would never have seen the light.

George wants us to believe Clinton is the first president that had an affair. Not true either. Most of them have had a mistress.

The reason you don't is because no ho would have you.

One could also argue that people are only as good as their leader.

the americans who are apparently led by their shclong and not their boss ... ..

How do you know they have schlongs and not schlorts?

Gotta agree with you though on not being led by their boss since their boss is by no means a leader. He may be their commander-in-chief but that is certainly a far cry from being a leader. Even the top military member refers to him as a "boss" and not a leader/prez/etc.

What is difference between this incident and any other time except they got caught time. The military frowns upon prostitution but it still goes on outside of military bases in most foreign countries. On November 21, 1963, several Secret Service agents were found in a nightclub in Fort Worth a block from Hotel Texas until the wee hours of the morning as well as several DNC operatives. I can't believe they let any crazy, ignorant person (with a computer) post their biased, ignorant unadulterated opinions on here without knowing all the facts or the history of the story.

Oh for Christ's sake. IF the area of Columbia they were in is one where it's legal big friggin deal. Now they have to answer to their wives if they have em but that is not the business of the country or the group of two bit shabby reporters that follow the president around. It's not like it's new or frankly immoral. Eve was the first whore. Adam paid her pimp a rib to hit that. Get over it. Move on. What the hell happened at the summit is where the news should be. The agents were banging hookers in their hotel rooms with the president's itinerary sitting out for any of these women to look at. If an assassination was planned, it would be at the mid level where the information could be more readily accessed. It was stupid and dangerous and inexcusable. It was also well known what has been going on for some time in that region. It is decorum that agents live by the legal standards in the US which means that using hookers is against our law. So they broke our laws in another country. This idea that boys will be boys need to be throw out the window. They compromised security for each and every one of us.

Obama screwed up when he allowed the nutty pair to break into his state dinner and just let the matter go. That was the big deal as well because it showed a breach of security. It was a huge deal, but both the president and media decided it wasn't a big deal and now we have this.

This is pure and simple lead by example and the example from this administration from top to bottom is waste tax payer money and don't worry about how much you work or how much you waste. They are only mimicking and doing what they see as being OK by their superiors. GSA, Military, and Administration they all could care less as long as it stays quiet how much corruption or waste there is. They should be worried about what the tax payers think not Obama he has his own issues he should be concerned about how the public thinks of his actions.

Thank you, the boys. Finally, some sense.

Personally, I don't care how many hookers secret service bangs. That's an issue that they need to take up with themselves, their partners and their God (if they have one). All the people who are chattering about the prostitutes are missing the point entirely.

These idiots brought prostitutes near the hotel where Obama was going to be staying the next day. They had the security plans in the room, where anyone could access them. They were drunk, raucous and certainly not in any shape to prevent someone from taking the documents and using them against our president. This was a COLOSSAL security breach.

It doesn't matter whether you like Obama or not. Our secret service is their to protect the president of the most powerful nation in the world and they have embarrassed this country with their failure.

As a retired combat airman, I can tell you that this kind of activity has gone on since there's been a military. A comment on the news last night blames the military for a "wheels up, wedding ring off" mentality. This has always been the norm in the military. There used to be a saying "what goes TDY stays TDY" and remains so to this day. For any military commander or general to disavow any knowledge or plead ignorance to the fact, borders on the ridiculous. Many of those generals and commanders did and still do these things...I know, I've seen it.

Let's see. There were 11 SS agents sent home and there were 10 military members involved. That begs a couple of questions: Was there a room in the hotel that didn't have a whore in the room or did each room come with hot and cold running maids? Twenty-one people of the presidential security team were involved. How many people does it take to keep the bummer safe? It's no wonder we are so far in arrears in our finances? Were these "ladies" put on the GSA expense report?

GEN Dempsey should have said, “We let El Jefe down” over allegations of misconduct, arrogant leaders in Central America like that term, so it would be fitting for our arrogant Organizer In Chief. That would have sounded better from that sycophant.

Dempsey is one hell of a leader, saying he’s embarrassed by what occurred in Colombia, “though we’re not sure what it is.” This from the administration that brought us "overseas contingency operations" instead of the Global War on Terrorism and "man made disasters" instead of Terrorism.

Or do you just find it disturbing that a person of color can use big words? I

I have great respect for our first white-black President, and I when I heard Obama speak at a rally in our 57th state, I was mesmerized by the crease in his trousers much like George Will. I'll even go so far as to say I "felt a thrill run up my leg" even before Chris Mathews. And being a former member of the United States Marine Corpse, who was treated for combat injuries by a corpsemen, a fine young man who spoke Austrian, I'd like like to thank our President for his kind words regarding the honor he felt awarding the Medal of Honor to Jared Monti who "wasn’t receiving it posthumously" even though Monti was in fact dead and did recive the award posthumously.

I don't find it distrubing that a person of color can use big words. But I do find it disturing that a bufoon with no experieance running anything other than a campain somehow was elected to be our Chief Exective that's to folks like you.

Thankfully this sad period of our Nation's history will end in January 2013 when Obama is sent packing.

These were probably enlisted guys in a support role, and to keep with tradition, they will throw the book at them. If he is so embarrassed, he should talk about all of his retired general buddies who are making $400-600 per hour as "consultants" to guys like himself as part of the DOD Mentor Program. If you don't have the know-how to lead and make executive decisions, you probably didn't deserve the promotion in the first place. The little power-trippers HAVE to leave after 40 years, and this is just a way for them to still hand around. These 10 military guys had one night, but these retired generals have been raping American taxpayers for years. They even went as far as making it legal that they did not have to divulge which comapny they were working for, nor how much their fees were. What is that cr@p? Talk about red flags.

Generals want to buy air tankers from France. Marines pee on the dead - on camera, then post it on the web. Abu Grahib. Mid night murders of civilians. GSA scandal. Sec Service Prostitute scandal. Walter Reed Hospital filthyness scandal. Allowing financial system laws to be taken out til the economy collapses. Failure to arrest anyone for bringing down the economy. Years of sending troops down roads with IED's in unarmored hummers. Generals hiring Afghans to get OBL in Tora Bora - so he simply paid them and walked to Pakistan, then having to get him ourselves 10 years later. ATF gun scandal in Mexico getting US border guard killed - no one arrested for that yet. Pink Slim in school lunches. Backing Karzai. The $300,000 moving expenses scandal to move one gubmint employee to Hawaii. Bridge to nowhere. Balancing the books by cutting benefits to the people who pay for things to free up money for the people who abuse priviledge. The entire culture of entitlement and untouchability of gubmint people is a serious and growing problem. Each embarrasment or catastrophe garners only one or two sacrificail lambs getting early retirement so the unwashed public "think" something is being done. Someone needs to get a grip on it before they bring down the gubmint by wiping out the last bit of respect the public has for gubmint. Once faith and credit is gone it won't be coming back til something extreme happens. They ought to try firing a few thousand people, and let the public know these people are fired because they just are not good at their jobs. Fired means no pay and no retirement.

He's a military man, with a strong American ethic. A military man or woman knows the important thing is to get the job done right. The job here was to protect the president, in order to protect the country. They are to be willing to sacrifice their lives for this without consideration of politics. That's what the military does, that's what the Secret Service does. So yeah, they let the boss down, and their buddies.

It is alarming this was allowed to happen. It appears it was ok with some of the management up until it became a public issue because someone wouldn't pay off their hooker. How else would these people think this was ok behavior? Only because they'd done it before and their immediate managers didn't object. "Just be sober by the time the President gets here" ??

Fun got in the way of gettting the job done.

Whatever your thoughts on the President, having any President killed in a foreign country would be a very bad thing for America.

This is no small deal. These guys were derelict in their duties. Besides dishonorable discharge, loss of all rank and future benefits, and possible jail time, they should reimburse the public for their travel expenses, since they deliberately chose not to do the job they were sent for.

Thank you, Don. Extremely well said. Everyone is so hung up on polarizing politics that they have lost sight of our national pride. It doesn't matter if you like this President or the next. This isn't about politics. This is about national security. We need to protect our own. Having a President harmed anywhere is a poor reflection on U.S. security and safety. The fact that our own citizens are blinded to this fact because of their politics, is a poor reflection on the U.S. as a whole. Grow up, people.

I think a lot of people are jumping to conclusions based on too little evidence. The questions that should be being asked are: What were the duties of the people in question in regard to Obama's security? Were they on or off duty? Were any laws broken or merely professional ethics rules? What may have been the impact of their actions on the President's visit? And has this actually happened regularly before?

Before jumping the gun and thinking the worst of all the parties involved, let the investigations play out and listen to the results. While I don't think this was the brightest idea ever hatched by the military or the Secret Service, it may not be as bad as many people think. What if their duties were at an end because of the arrival of the team that travels with the President? It's obvious that they had a party, but there is no further information. If they were derelict in their duties then they deserve whatever punishment they receive from their respective agencies, but how many other professionals go out and party on Friday night to let off steam when work is done? Let the investigations run their course!

Oh! By the way, the people who protect the President and other officials are the best to be found anywhere, but remember that they are human beings with all the faults and frailties of everyone else.

          Don in Minnesota,

Well said however, these men didn't let fun get in the way of doing their job because their job was already done. Furthermore, they were off the clock and the Colombian government didn't charge them with anything because they didn't commit a crime. To present that a standard of international celibacy and virtue is mandated to represent the United States is Puritanical nonsense. These men are not Evangelical Ministers or Catholic Priest and all of them have put themselves in harms way and would lay down their lives for the United States of America. We say loudly that "We support our Troops" but that's only lip service because in the drop of a hat we turn against them and would ruin their careers and lives over what clearly is a non-issue. A real issue might be: When are we gonna stop our campaign of terror, murder and misery on the Colombian people under the pretense of a drug war? We should take the money we're gonna waste on this bogus investigation and give it to a struggling American family then move on.

You obviously have never been in the military and know not of what you speak. You need to look up dereliction and the UCMJ (Uniformed Code of Military Justice) and how it pertains to a dishonorable discharges. At most, the military members might get an LOR (Letter of Reprimand) or Article 15 (if security was at risk). Please refrain from making ignorant assumptions and stupid opinions and do some research first. Better yet, join the military and see for yourself. maybe you'll learn something.

I posted this on another thread, but I'll post it again here. MSNBC and NPR reported that Obama's schedule was out in the open, but even if that wasn't the case, here is another angle on potential blackmail from the NYTimes:

On the CBS program “Face the Nation,” Mr. Issa also raised the prospect that the episode had not been isolated and said the Secret Service employees had made themselves susceptible to blackmail. “We think the number might be higher, and we’re asking for the exact amount of all the people who were involved,” he said. “But this kind of breach is a breach in the federal workforce’s most elite protective unit, and they don’t just protect the president, of course, they protect cabinet members, the vice president, first families, candidates.”

And then another comment from Mr. Basham, the head of Secret Service from 2003-2006:

Avoiding prostitutes is “something people in the intelligence world know about and are taught to be conscious of and told to avoid,” Mr. Basham said. “As a young agent, you are taught to be careful and aware of your surroundings so you don’t get compromised.”

The agents could have been blackmailed, Mr. Basham said, so the Secret Service mitigated that threat by sending the agents home.

And then Congressman King summed it up nicely in an interview with the WSJ:

"It looks like we really lucked out on this," telling NBC it appears agents compromised presidential security with the partying that occurred in Colombia before President Barack Obama arrived for his summit in Cartagena, Colombia.

King says, "You don't allow a potential enemy into your security zone."

It doesn't matter if they were on duty or off duty. They were traveling on official U.S. business with the most important task of protecting our President. They hold honorable positions with high levels of responsibility and they demand our respect. Those that want to act like animals when they travel on U.S. business, shouldn't be on an elite team like the U.S. Secret Service.

No, the news is bringing the hookers to the Hotel and compromising operational security. Prostitutes are not known for trustworthiness as they often have pimps with connections to criminal organizations.

This could have just as easily turned into a tale of blackmail. After all, you did see that it cost the agents involved their jobs. They've all lost their security clearances and they'll never work in that biz again.

These guys are supposed to take a bullet for the President and instead they left him with egg on his face. Obama was left discredited and embarrassed at an international diplomatic meeting.

How are we supposed to tell Latin American countries that they have a corruption problem in their countries when our sworn lawmen are cavorting with whores in taxpayer-funded hotel rooms? That's good for nothing but howls of laughter after the way these buffoons disgraced their badges.

MeanGene, you and I don't usually agree, but on this one, you hit the nail on the head.

Our "representatives," supposedly protecting our president, have turned us into the world's laughingstock. It represents that our moral compass points "south." It's a true embarrassment for our country.

At a time when we are struggling to regain our strength and veracity, this incident has given the US another black eye. The "Me First" attitude must change. A long time ago, I read where the Native American pecking order of survival was to begin with respecting, protecting and working for the whole tribe. In that global context, the next group worked in extended family situations to care for one another. Next was the immediate families who provided familial support for one another. Lastly, the individual, whose singular importance was last. His job was to make sure that his part benefited all. Somehow, this pyramid of responsibility has flipped over, and the "It's all about me" mentality has kicked in.

Perhaps a review of the whole secret service should be investigated. With eleven agents, on the president's personal detail, having this type of damaged moral code, and are that easily distracted, I would be truly worried. I certainly wouldn't want them responsible for protecting me. One of their prostitutes might disconcert them in my time of need.

They had the President's itinerary in the same room with prostitutes? Now I know this is impossible, but just suppose (and I know this could NEVER happen) that one of the prostitutes was working with some group that didn't have this country's best interests at heart. Wouldn't they be interested in information like that? No wonder the Secret Service blew the ball on President Kennedy and he was assassinated. It looks to me like they're trying to do the same thing all over again. Not only should they be fired, but they should face criminal charges as well. Too bad it can't be before a court-martial.

Anyone remember Olongapo City? 40,000 registered hostesses, in their heyday, capable of entertaining the entire 7thflt during port visits. It was a well known fact while stationed at naval station Subic Bay, if you wanted to know when a ship would arrive inport (classified info) just simply ask one of the bar girls. The town even had a radio station that would broadcast that information a few days before their arrival inport.

Elected officials leak classified info to the press all the time, where's the uproar there? I don't consider this news worthy other than they got caught doing what others do when the opportunity arises. Being a retired sailor, there's something to be said for a girl in every port.

So Sammy, tell us. Just how did President Obama let the entire country down. Tell us and don't just repeat the Limbaugh lies. Tell us iun your own words, that is if you have any. I know, he saved the US auto industry or how about how he stopped the economic free fall we were in because of Bush's incompetence. What else, OH, finding and eliminating Bin Laden when Bush had stopped even looking. How about trying to get a handle on the abysmal state of health care in this country. Trying to get it to the point where when people like you get sick and go to the emergency room because you don't have insurance we, the ones who are responsible, don't have to pay your bill. The list goes on and on.

Just because Rush and fox news says it doesn't mean it's true. The problem with being a ditto head is it leaves no room for independent thought. You just march along with the ditto head crowd, uneducated and without a clue as to what's happening in the world. Do yourself a favor, instead of being lazy and letting some stupid talking head do you thinking for you, develop a though of your own. Stop being a lap dog.

Dennis, You tell us all about what you think may be good. And i'll tell you about how Obama cercomvented Congress with all his Execitive Orders per say to go to NATO and the United Nation to get permission to send our troops into combat. (Unconstitutional) Executive Order to take control of all the Natural Gas in the US (Unconstitutional) Executive Order to bypass Congress on any law or bill that he wants passed. (Unconstitutional) Passed a health care bill, That is not only unconstituional but will cost the tax payer's Billions of dollars more than he first stated. Supported The Muslim Brotherhood and many other Terriorist Group's with millions of tax payer's dollars. And I could go on and on. But while this subject is about his Protective Service, I'm just wondering why he has so many. As I remember when I was planning Motor Cades and working with Belguin Security. Presidents Reagan and Bush Sr. only had 7 or 8 max. And they had some fairly good supervisor's. And why does Obama need so many, Pray tell. And What happened to the supervisor's in this case? And the Military must have been Marines. And as you're telling Elf that maybe he should read a book. Maybe ya should read one also, It's called Dreams of My Father. Written by Barack Obama. YOU might just learn something. That ya may not like about Mr Obama.

                Dennis Price - Well said.

Jerry - And you name one President who was perfect in his job. Name one President who never used Executive Orders to get something done that could not be done through Congress. But what is most interesting is that for someone who professed having worked with motorcades (it is one word, not two) and Belgium (not Belguin) Security, your lack of correcting your post leads me to believe that you had absolutely nothing to do with that at all.

History lesson - At the time of his Presidency, Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Andrew Jackson, even George Washington all did things that at the time of their Presidency were considered unconstitutional. Three of the four Presidents I mentioned were at the time of their Presidency considered very bad Presidents. And yet today we consider them good Presidents.

If you'd have studied your history, you would know that. Sounds like you're the one who should be reading books. Try American History, you just might learn something.

Time will prove that the Bush policies were damaging to our country. Time will also prove that President Bush (at the end of his term), along with President Obama did prevent our country from slipping into a deep Depression.

Dennis and Jerry - Both would be more credible if Dennis could tell us where he disagrees with the President and Jerry could agree with the President. No President is perfect, none are Gods. When we speak of them as though they are the best or worst President ever, we set ourselves up to expect them to be "God Like". Both posts prove my point.

Everyone of those executive orders were within the framework of the constitution and have been exercised by every president. Just because a bunch of you try to give a literal meaning to the constitution doesn't make what you say true. What is it with you people? President Obama NEVER supported the Muslim Brotherhood or any other terrorist group. He's been very busy killing those people off. I defy you to show us proof of him doing otherwise.

Presidential protection is dictated by the Secret Service, not the President, which, if you actually did what you say you would know. I don't know who you think your fooling with this crap. Certainly not me or anybody I know.

Well put. I wish he had put off HCR till he was into his second term, but I'm sure he had his reasons. Once it became very obvious to everybody that the Republicans were going to vote no on everything he proposed, even when they were originally for it I wish he had stopped trying to reach across the aisle for compromise. The GOP/tp refused to even try to find common ground. I wish he had to them to shove it. They aren't worth his trouble. They could care less about this country, just themselves. The claim to love America but they sure do hate Americans.

So all the derogatory statements I've read recently in his post about "Saint" Reagan as he refers to him or the GOP presidential candidates is his fantasy world of blind hate that is sees as true...

Hey Dennis, when you are still blaming Bush - well that means you will admit to little. Get off your ditto lines. Increasing the debt at such high rates will cover a lot of mistakes. Heaven help our children. Think about it!

Last I checked, Obama wasn't cohorting with prostitutes and jeopardizing national security by giving random people access to confidential U.S. documents.

Get off the politics already. You're embarrassing yourself and this country.

What a great career move and a special line on their resume! Canned because of a payment squabble with a hooker while on an overseas assignment. "Dumbass" is about the right term and terminated for cause the right response, none of this "administrative leave" b.s.

What was this someone mentioned about Hillarity appearing inebriated in public?

ORB - Ever heard of due process? These guys probaby will be fired, and should be, but not to worry, some mercenary security company will hire them at 150K before the ink dries on their termination papers.

The article about Hillary was that on the day Obama was being hammered by the Latin American leaders for our stand on Cuba, Hillary was at a party at the Club Havana. It was meant to be ironic and never indicated that she was drunk.

Barry used to like that when he was coked up when he was a city councilman in Chicago.

For some reason, this article has brought out the Obama haters. And, after looking at some of the posts, the bigots, as well.

During the news coverage of one of the primaries, I heard an 81-year old woman interviewed on the radio about her vote. She made it clear that she didn't like the president's policies, but she was respectful enough of the office to always refer to him as Mr. Obama. Too bad most people have lost that sense of civility. I'm not sure what they hope to gain. Name-calling doesn't change anyone's mind and is the mark of an immature mind.

If you roll back the clock on newsvine and see what was said about former President Bush jr, the comments made now are no different except those who are offended are the same ones who were calling for immediate impeachment and "war crimes" judicial actions. Same story different day. While President Obama should be given his proper respect, I have a hard time seeing that so many think that his administration is without fault and is the only choice for the next 4 years. This Secret Service screw-up is not the President's fault. It's not like he said, "okay boys, after I am gone, you guys go grab some hookers and indulge in the local scenary..." From what has been reported this sort of thing has been going on for a very long time and it is not just during the Obama administration but several Presidential administrations. You can't blame the President for this one and I am not a supporter of the President. You want to blame him for GSA, go ahead, but this issue had nothing to do with President Obama.

Btown ... Obama, as president, is entitled to a certain level of respect. You may not agree with him, but he has not engaged in criminal behavior or dishonored the Office of President of the United States. It is possible to separate the man from the office. As for my comment about the racist remarks on here, here's a direct quote from a posting:

obama admit he has screwed this country? hell nop, he is the man, the black, white man, only half of the summit countries even showed up, doesn't that tell us what this man is really about.

Why should race even be an issue for dicussion, but people persist in bringing it up anyway.

Army Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, has admitted, "We let the boss down"

I don't think that's quite right Mr. Dempsey. You let the American people down. If you have responsibility in this, you should be submitting your retirement papers.

Now there's something that's never happened before. And do you really think this is the first time secret service agents have used prostitutes while in a foreign country?

Of course, the general has no control over the Secret Service agents, just over the military members of the contingent. Joe is right, General Dempsey, personally, didn't let the American people down unless he fostered an atmosphere that encourages the use of prostitutes. He can't personally know everything that is going on under his command.

Did our previous president admit to letting our "entire" country down? They are both humans and humans aren't perfect. They were elected to the highest office in our land. Shouldn't you two back this president the same way you did with our previous president? Only UN-AMERICANS act like you two! This story is about people that aren't elected to office. They are working for us American's that pay taxes. They should be held accountable like any other person that is making money off our taxes! I'm sure these people get paid very well to have such jobs. We AMERICANS are their boss and they are paid to protect our president no matter who is our president!

No doubt. The new generation of wounded warriors is about to see what happens when you are no longer needed by the military. Higher medical costs, longer waiting times to be seen, difficult to obtain any monetary assistance in combat compensation, disability payments, etc. The bean counters are going to re-write the military retirement program and make all sorts of new changes in hopes of beating down the veterans and retired personnel.

Of course, why should they worry, most are assured a consulting job right after retirement making six digits and I am sure those senior military officers who blessed off on this piece of crap idea will be "grandfathered" in to assure they keep their retirement checks before the changes come.

Lets see..BUDGET CUTS start in the House, Then up to the Senate and Then The president signs OK. HMMMMMMMMMMMMM seems like you need to talk to your REPUBICAN LEADERS in the House. They control the FIRST STEP. No military CUTS until the REPUBLICANS in the HOUSE vote for it......Now WHICH PARTY is yelling for BUDGET CUTS? Republicans of course,,,,But its easier to just blame Obama ????? OK now I understand.......Look back in history of wars ending///Military cuts everytime.. Well except CUTS for MILITARY contractors that build Artillery so dam big it would take 1 year to get it to a battle zone.. Then congress decides to do away with it AFTER PAYING 10 BILLION to draw up plans.. Rumsfeld was Sec of Defense and CLAIMED he had NO KNOWLEDGE it was even on on the drawing boards... LMAO. WE were always EXPENDIBLE during war So we shouldnt expect to be IMPORTANT NOW
