Neo-Nazi who killed family was 'cruel,' 'controlling,' friend of victims says

J. T. Ready, a self-proclaimed neo-Nazi, was among five dead at a shooting at a home in Gilbert, Arizona. He was running for Pinal County Sheriff.

A leading neo-Nazi reportedly blamed by authorities in Arizona for killing two women, an Army veteran and a 16-month-old child in a suspected domestic incident was “cruel and controlling,” according to a former co-worker of one victim.

J.T. Ready, a former Marine, was running for Pinal County sheriff and was a member of the U.S. Border Guard and the Minuteman Project, according to The Arizona Republic, which described the groups as anti-illegal immigration organizations. The paper said he also belonged to the National Socialist Movement, a group with white-supremacist views.


The shootings took place at a house in Gilbert, Ariz., shortly after midday Wednesday. The Republic reported that authorities believe Ready killed himself after shooting the others.

Gilbert Police Sergeant Bill Balafas said officers were interviewing a witness to the shooting, which investigators believe stemmed from a "domestic situation," Reuters reported. 

Hugo Mederos, of Florida, told the Republic that the victims were his former wife, Lisa Mederos, 47, their daughter Amber Mederos, 23, her boyfriend Jim "Jambob" Hiott, 24, an Army veteran who served in Afghanistan, and Amber’s 16-month-old daughter Lily.

Hugo Mederos told the paper that his other daughter, Brittany Mederos, was present at the time, but was not hurt.

A police officer walks with a man who said he had a child inside of the home where five people were shot in Gilbert, Ariz., Wednesday.

"She was in the bedroom when she heard the gunshots," he added. "She heard everybody screaming. She heard the baby crying."

Amber Mederos was employed at a nearby Wendy's restaurant and Heather Morton, a former employee, told the Republic that Ready had met the Mederos sisters at the restaurant and then began a relationship with their mother.

Morton told the Republic that Ready moved in with Lisa Mederos, but Amber Mederos, her daughter and fiancé had left the family home because Ready was "cruel and controlling."

Morton said Ready had once said of Lily, who was half-Hispanic, “she's 50 percent ugly,” the paper reported. “That's how he described her," she added.

A Facebook page entitled "JT Ready for Sheriff" carried a message from the administrator noting unconfirmed reports that "a cartel assassination squad murdered JT Ready and several of his friends and family this afternoon in Gilbert Arizona," according to Reuters.

His usage of "concentration camps" is correct. The Nazis didn't have a lock on the words "concentration camp". The United States placed Japanese Americans in concentration camps during World War II as well. Perhaps you should take your own advice and crack a book sometime.

Hey guys - while MANY of us do not agree with ol' Sheriff Joe's prison camps, they are NOT anything like a concentration camp.

The actual use of the word concentration camp implies far, far more evil than being a mere location where normal prisoners, political prisoners or persecuted minorities are imprisioned.

It implies the horrors that the Nazi's perpetrated in thier concentration camps.

Appalachian - America did imprison the west coast Japanese inappropriately and because of that, many of the families lost much or all of thier material possessions - yes. Absolutely. However, the atrocities associated with the title 'concentration camp' (because of the Nazi starvation, murder, torture of those held in thiers) did not happen in these camps here in America. Yes - let's take these internment camps (as they were called then) and call them what they were - but please don't use inflammatory and inaccurate designations like 'concentration camp'.

Calling a prison a concentration camp (even one done in a manner we hate like Sheriff Joe does) cheapens the memories of those who died because of the atrocities that happened in REAL concentration camps.

Arizona hasn't passed law to allow weapons in bars, hell Ohio is ahead of them. And truthfully I see nothing wrong with the tent camps for prisoners. Maintenance must be low, maybe all states should look into it. I was in jail years ago, but was one the smarter ones out of my friends I never went back.

I think the point people are missing here is that the Jewish and Japanese people didn't break the law before they were confined to the "concentration camps". If people in AZ don't want to eat bologna, live in tents in the desert and wear pink underwear, then perhaps they should stop being criminals!

Gotta agree with Appalachian on this one. Nazi atrocities didn't change the definition. But this isn't about Arizona's prisoners.... it's about a nut job who killed a family, possibly with some racial animosity.

I have so many questions. The article claims that Ready was a "leading neo-Nazi". Really? What neo-Nazi organization did he lead? I bet he was a wannabe Nazi and didn't "lead" a damn thing.

Why on earth would a woman with half Hispanic children get involved with a white supremacist nazi wannabe who patrolled the border illegally? The signs weren't there? He called her daughter half-ugly, yet she stayed with him? Her adult children had enough sense to get out, how did she not? She left her first husband, yet stayed with this guy knowing he had contempt for her children based solely on ethnicity? WOW!

I'm not blaming her. It just seems hard to imagine she left the father of her children who she was married to, yet stayed with a guy who made unthinkably cruel comments about her children, based on ethnicity. Very strange and in the end, very sad. My heart goes out to Mr. Mederos, especially if he wasn't at fault for the breakup of his marriage. Imagine having your wife leave you and then her new boyfriend kills the entire family. I can't even imagine what Mr. Mederos is going through....

They were concentration camps, marine, no matter how much you try to obscure and lie about it, THEY WERE CONCENTRATION CAMPS, and people did die in them because of lack of food, heat and medical care. And what's more marine, they were created for POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC reasons.

Here's some history for YOU marine. Did you know that only HALF the Japanese ethnics living in US controlled territory were locked up in concentration camps? That's right, ONLY the middle class, business owning, and profession practicing Japanese of the west coast were sent to the camps. But, there were also another group of Japanese, about 150,000 who never went to the camps. They lived in Hawaii, making up nearly 40% of the island's population at the time. Yes folks, nearly 2 of every 5 people living in our single most important base in the Pacific War were the "enemy". And you know why they weren't locked up? Because the MILITARY, who controlled the islands saw NO RISK in letting them be. And this was supported by the WHITE power structure of planters, because 80% of the Japanese in Hawaii were farm labor, picking pineapples and cutting cane. To have locked them up or shipped them to the mainland would have tied up vital shipping and bankrupted the island's plantation owners. So, what happened was a truly racist injustice of the highest order, completely comparable to the same sort of racist BS the Germans were peddling and both countries adopted similar immediate solutions to RACIAL conflict, NOT military security.

Oh, and one other note, it was the British who invented concentration camps during the Boer War in South Africa. They rounded up tens of thousands of Afrikaner women and children and locked them up in camps as a way of forcing the Afrikaner men to give up the guerrilla fighting. The camps, of course, were deplorable, and thousands died of disease and starvation, much like the camps to follow.

I've seen a lot of these types and every last one of them was a screwed up, twisted loser, who blames everything that happens to them on outside forces like the government; never taking personal responsiblity for their own situation. Nothing, nothing can justify the cold-blooded murder of a child.

The frightening thing is that there is a considerable population in Arizona that would have voted for this guy. Although it seems pretty obvious from his statements and his campaign website that he had more than a few screws loose, there are some people there that think this guy was the right person for the job as sheriff. Its too bad that four people including a baby had to die in order to expose this guys psychotic behavior but I guess its better now than after he may have been elected (the killings still might have taken place but then he would have the authority to sweep it under the rug). I guess the extremists in Arizona will have to find some other psycho to vote for.

There is really only one humane way for Americans to deal with this extremist generation of control freaks...isolate them. No one has to be controlled by anyone. When you encounter an irrational control freak, don't hang around. You know a control freak is dangerous. But, his main problem isn't an obsession with control of others. It's his awareness of his mental illness that he knows shows he is out of control. So, you isolate these freaks of nature. They can't control you if you isolate them from society, can they?

Now just think about the therapy a control freak receives if he is isolated from society and only has himself to deal with. He is forced to learn control or go madder than the Mad hatter. At which, point, he can safely be institutionalized for the criminally insane.

This is a very sad story! I look at the sick intellect of this man! For God and our country I pray that all these types of individuals take themselves out or each other.

The people in Eat-at-Joe's prison camps are neither "political prisoners" nor "persecuted minorities". They are criminals who got caught breaking the law.

In World War II the U.S. used internment camps. These were used to hold people, generally without a trial, who were considered a potential danger. Conditions in these camps were varied, but the death toll was usually small. On the other hand, concentration camps were typically used as punishment camps for political opponents, as forced labor camps, and as extermination camps. As such, the death tolls were SIGNIFICANTLY higher... (google: "FEMA camps")

As of late, within the past two decades, many atrocities have occured where guns were used in the United states. Columbine, Viginia Tech, and now Ready who murders a family along with himself. I'm just listing a few things that have happened where guns are involved but there were a great deal more than just the three previously stated. Wether or not these shootings were based on supposed emotional responses, there should have been signs that people could notice. If someone is acting oddly emotional, or If someone is acting with extremist idealism, then authorative action must be notified.
The best way to fix these situations is to keep a more watchful eye, try to help one-another, or else more situations like this will persist. The key things to pick off about Ready was that he was a predjudicial and a racist man, also who was part of a neo-nazi movement. Despite working along to protect the border, these issues/tendancies towards another poeple should have been noticed and dealt with immediately. His political affiliation is not helping with the fact he is republican, but we should ignore that for now and realize that he is an american that was out of touch with being civil.
The main issue with our society is when a tragedy or some specific problem appears or persist, we as americans will tend to blame either Republicans or Democrats; rather than finding who is responsible and dealing with them or the situation in itself. An idiot will always blame a situation on politics, while a wise man/woman will seek to fix the situation immediately and carry on. There was a point were we used to be wise, and we need to return to that point immediately.

The Socialist Party is on par with the communists, while the National Socialist Party is on par with nazis. The two groups despise each other - the communist ideology states that the goal is for the advancement of individuals via the advancement of the population, while the nazi ideology aims to advance the nation by getting everyone on board with the same ideas. Both are systems that are fatally flawed due to the necessity of a large bureocracy that contributes little to the actual well-being of the people.

There is one difference these are criminals if you don't like it don't do crimes to get locked-up over it is that simple. To auto and those who think like him: how would you know exactly what the tents are like? Have you actually served time in them? This is America and to some this may sound silly but, we do treat humans with dignity unless they have participated in a horrendous crime like this azz-hole. Sheriff Joe Arpaio and Gov. Janet Brewer have no business being in the leadership roles they are in. They have no compassion for the people of this state, other than those who have a purpose to serve them. Ummmm, group? The term "reconcentration camp" comes from the US. When Andrew Jackson wanted to get rid of the Native Americans (when Jackson said "the only good Indian, is a dead Indian," he was not using hyperbole), he rounded them up--even the blond-haired, blue-eyed ones--and put them in reconcentration camps until he could "persuade" them to relocate to Indian territory. If they starved or died of typhus, I don't really think he much cared.

Hitler got his idea for "concentration camps" from the US.

Our internment camps were prisons. They were prisons for entire families, which were not well treated. The only way out was death, at first. Then, they started letting a few of the young men out if they would enlist--those who enlisted were among the best fighters in the war. The prison camps our soldiers were in during WWII were the equivalent of internment camps--they were not nice places.

And, in any case, it was not the states that created the federal government. The Articles of Confederation tried that route.     Clearly none of you know a thing about Tent City. First let me say that I think Arpaio is a criminal and should've been incarcerated long ago, not re-elected. But that's a matter for another debate and has nothing to do with what Tent City is or is not.

    Tent City is a minimum security outdoor add-on to the Maricopa county jail complex in Phoenix. Inmates there are strictly non-violent offenders serving a maximum of 6 months, although the majority are serving 30 days or less. The vast majority of the Tent City population are DUI offenders, although there are also shoplifters, "deadbeat dads" (failure to pay child support) and other non-violent offenders. The majority of Tent City inmates are on work release, which means they line up at the gate just before 6 am on weekdays and are let out into society from 6 am to 6 pm so they can go to their jobs. They only spend the night in the tents, except on weekends, when they are there 24/7 until Monday morning. If you are a prisoner of the county jail, you cannot get on work release if you are in the "towers" (the main jail), so you must be in Tent City to be allowed out to go to work every day. I suppose if your job requires you to work weekends, you could probably get out then too if you have something in writing, but I have never known anyone in that situation. BTW, students are allowed out for college classes too -- and I have known someone in that situation. Attending college or going to work, it's treated the same.

    If you are a non-DUI offender and therefore still have a valid driver's license, if you have a car, there is a parking lot for it. You can see your car through the chain-link fence while you're on the inside. You can also make a lot of money on the side by giving rides to work to all the DUI offenders who otherwise have to get a friend or spouse to pick them up every morning and give them a ride.

    Inmates in Tent City are allowed limited amounts of cash, which is important if you're stuck there all weekend. The food sucks -- you've all heard the infamous stories about stale bread and green bologna. Well it's not really that despicable. It's donated food -- not unhealthy to eat, but not appetizing either. To solve that issue, you use your cash to buy decent but overpriced stuff from the vending machines, which happen to be owned by an Arpaio family member.

    Smoking is, of course, prohibited, but it seems to be common practice for many inmates to do it anyway. That's pretty risky, because breaking the rules can cost you your work release -- meaning you are truly stuck there until you serve your full sentence.

    I have never been an inmate there myself, but have been one of those people who had to pick up a close personal friend and take them to work every morning and back again at the end of the day, and I have known business professionals and stay-at-home moms who have spent time in Tent City. If you're lucky, you don't do time there in the summer when it's well over 100 degrees for the daytime high. Years ago there were fans in the tents, but Sheriff Joe's excuse is "the inmates broke them" so they were never replaced. If you happen to commit a DUI in winter time, I have been told it's not bad if you bring a warm winter coat. The crappy blankets they give you don't help much, but if you think of it as winter camping in a mild climate, it's possible to get a good night's sleep.

    In any case, the first thing every inmate on work release does when they hit that gate at 6 am is to go find a shower and clean clothes immediately. If you play it right, your co-workers don't even need to know you're in jail, although your boss certainly does -- because he or she had to sign off on the paperwork that says you have a job there, which makes you eligible for work release in the first place.

    The biggest complaint I have heard about Tent City from people who have been there is not the lousy food or the summer heat, it's the on-the-hour, every-hour announcements on the PA. It's like the CO's think it's a cute little game to play, to wake up the inmates every hour with some nonsense blasting from the PA. So word to the wise -- if you commit a DUI or other non-violent offense in Maricopa county, it's good to be a heavy sleeper. Otherwise you might be nodding off at work the next day.

        @ Weallhaveopinions, I live here in AZ, and yes you absolutely can carry a concealed weapon in bars (and now state parks too) in AZ. AZ business/bar owners can hang a sign in a window or on a door saying that guns are not permitted on the premises, but if there is no sign, guns are permitted. Now recently our wacked out state legislature tried to pass a bill that would allow concealed weapons on all college campus in the state, but it was met with a veto (or a threat of veto, I can't recall if it actually got to her desk) from Brewer after a hell of a lot of activism from the residents of the state and law enforcement agencies. Law enforcement agencies were against that bill from the beginning, but the GOP legislature tried to pass that insane ALEC written bill anyway....

The Republic often posts very confusing and poorly thought out headlines....and their content is often pretty poor too. Can't tell you how many spelling/grammar mistakes I find in their stories (and I'm no spelling/grammar expert either). The Republic is the worst paper I've ever read in those regards...and I've read a lot of papers from around the country in my life!

My wife's last name is old school Italian yet she is 60% Portuguese and 39%% French.         IvanMiami, you raise an excellent point -- names do not determine ethnicity -- but they usually provide a strong hint as to some part of a person's ancestry.

        In another news story, Amber's full name was stated -- Amber Nieve Mederos. For those of you who don't speak Spanish, "nieve" is the Spanish word for snow. If you have seen photos of the victims, the middle name seems appropriate -- Amber was very fair-skinned, as was her mother Lisa.

        Arizona has been a melting pot throughout its history, and it is quite common here to meet people with mixed Western European, Southern European and Native American ethnic roots. That's my attempt to say we have many families where one side is of "white" (English/Scottish/Irish/German/French/etc.) heritage and the other side is of Mexican heritage (Spanish/Native American). Sometimes the last name is of Spanish origin, sometimes it is of Western European origin.

        The baby's father, despite having the last name Boggs, has a dark complexion. Some would say "brown" or "Mexican." The baby Lilly was also "brown", which kind of explains the disgusting insults from J.T. Ready that the baby was "50 percent ugly" because of the obvious genetic contribution of her father.

        Here's a theory. Suppose J.T. Ready, who has been dating Lisa for about 2 years, never thought of her as being Hispanic and never knew of her family lineage. She was after all, a very attractive fair-skinned woman. J.T. was probably not much of an expert on ancestry or the Spanish language, and might never have thought twice about Lisa's last name.

        Perhaps the women got tired of J.T.'s racist insults hurled at the innocent young toddler, and informed him that hey, you know, we're part Hispanic too. The resulting mental conflict -- what psychologists refer to as cognitive dissonance -- required some sort of resolution in his mind. His subconscious says on the one hand, "I'm in love with my beautiful Lisa, who is part Mexican" and on the other hand it says "I hate Mexicans."

        Sadly, his resolution of that dissonance was to kill everyone, including himself.

        It's just my theory, but it's the only way I can understand how J.T. Ready could be involved with this family, dating Lisa, and at the same time be a white supremacist who made disparaging remarks about the brown baby. I think he really didn't know the family heritage of these women, and when he found out, he snapped.

                  Background checks for gun ownership are a joke.                   People blame the NRA for a very good reason. First let me say, I support "the right to bear arms". What I do not support is "the right to bear an Uzi". As long as the NRA takes the extreme stance of defining anything with a trigger and a powder propelled projectile as a "gun", I'll continue to define the NRA as a bunch of rabid nutjobs who touch themselves whenever a new piece of "ordinance" comes out.

                  I get the fact that you can't generalize that all NRA members are gun toting lunatics. Unfortunately, when the public voice of your organization is what people see, most folks attribute the characteristics of "the whole" to "all parts". Just remember. Even though you may not support the extreme position of your group, the money you provide them goes to that purpose.

                  The NRA is no different than organizations like ACLU or the NAACP. Each one has a "noble" goal that too often is coopted by radical factions within the organization and the commonsensical goals get thrown to the wind to advocate the most extreme position to draw attention. The media, of course, feeds this image by interviewing the most extreme members of the lunatic fringe within the organization... and viola. It's how a stereotype is born.

                  I've own guns since I was 12, I am now 65. It's one thing to have general acceptance of competent gun ownership, it's another thing to bend all of your resources to put an assault rifle into every home.                       The Founding Fathers weren't couldn't see into the future. I honestly wonder - if they knew to what degree technology would evolve - what would they have said?

                      The right to bear arms was included as a basic right - not because they wanted a lot of gun toting nutjobs out there. The idea of the right to bear arms traces it's history back to the English Bill of Rights. There's an excellent recap of the history of "the right to bear arms" here:

                      Guns were secured for people to 1) provide for a common defense, 2) allow self-sufficiency (in terms of hunting game) and 3) provide for individuals to defend themselves.

                      As an added benefit, the Founding Fathers also recognized that the right to bear arms that was given to all English citizens through the English Bill of Rights also allowed for the citizentry to defend themselves against an oppressive government.

                      None. Not one of those four is a reason to have a weapon capable of mowing down 100 people in 20 seconds. And as for hating the Founding Fathers, how could we? They gave us the best tools they had available to secure our freedom and liberty. My concern is that no document is truly timeless... even the Bible (sorry, to my fellow Christians out there) - but we have a tendency to hold the Constitution up to be an unalterable document. Even the Thomas Jefferson said,

                      I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical.

                      I don't mean to suggest that in this case the Constitution - or the Bill of Rights - requires altering. The right to keep and bear arms isn't damaged by limiting access to Uzis any more than limiting our access to bomb-making materials or nuclear weapons.

                        Well what kind of person do you think a man is that runs around with guns hangs with criminal gangs that take the law into their hands and get away with it in AZ. What gets me is They have all these guns just like the guy last week in Seattle and all they do is kill family and self. You can't shoot but one gun at a time so whats the point I don't understand how a woman can lay down in a bed next to such psychopaths and have sex with me like that and kids around them too. People don't understand HATE it is a spiritual force that will destroy the person inside of you causing you to commit these crimes.                         Hate in any form is a mental illness. Most professionals know this. When you consider how casually proliferated that word "hate" is today, it has become acceptable to hate. Hateful behaviors therefore become acceptable. Hate is acted out in many ways.

                        When a guy is armed to the teeth as this nut was, anyone he conned into his evil lair of narcissisism is his prey, not his family. This is a professional con artist actor who turns on the charm with women while he hides his deep dark demons. The minute he realizes he can use his guns to intimidate everyone around him, he begins to feed on their fear of him like some alien life form.

                        Whenever I encounter someone so full of hate, I see clearly their own self-loathing and isolate them from my circle of friends. Who has time for such hatefulness? Let control freaks wallow in their own self-hatred.

                              I'm 59 years old, a granny, I've been shooting guns since I was 10 years old. I can hit a 22 shell in the air with the 22 rifle. I have no problem with rifles, and even revolvers, however, I cannot see any use in someone using an automatic with 31 bullets. Guns are only more dangerous than bats and knives, in that you can use them from a distance. I realize that Archie Bunker said, "Would it make you feel any better, little girl, if they was pushed out a window?" when Gloria complained about guns.

                              I was an NRA member for quite a few years. I do understand that after Canada took away guns several years ago, that we need to protect our rights to have weapons. But a machine gun is a bit of an overkill (pun intended). Hunting rifles, even revolvers are allright, in my view. But a machine gun, an Uzi, an elephant gun is too much.

                                                  I live in AZ, there have been more deportations under the current administration than ever before! Also, in a recent story in the AZ Republic, there are a million fewer illegals in AZ today than 18 months ago (largest drop EVER in an 18 month window) due to increased deportations and lack of construction jobs. Now if the GOP legislature really wanted to work to fix the illegal immigration issue here, they would actually FUND THE LAW that was passed years ago to fine and penalize businesses that knowingly hired the illegal immigrants in AZ! There would be even fewer if they did this...and there would have been no need to pass the BS SB1070 bill. But the AZ chamber of commerce couldn't stand to lose all that cheap labor, so they lobbied (aka, bought off) the GOP legislature so they would not fund the law, after it was passed, to penalize the businesses hiring illegal immigrants. But see, not funding that law actually accomplishes two things for the GOP here in AZ. They get to continue to stoke the fears about all the scary illegal landscapers, cooks and construction workers in our midst, AND they get to keep all that cheap labor while demonizing the people that do the work that lines their pockets. It's a win/win for the GOP....AZ politics at its finest!!!

I do not like Eric Holder at all, I think he's done a pretty terrible job TBH, and my biggest problem with the current Administration is its extension of the Patriot Act, failure to close GITMO, and the continued erosion of personal privacy and civil rights/liberties in this country. As for JT Ready, while he was an NRA member, I NEVER said the NRA "supported" him....unless they were backing his run for political office at one time or another and I am unaware.

                                                            Now, the FACTS are that JT Ready supported, and was supported, by the Tea Party (he actually spoke at a few rallies here in AZ), and the Neo Nazi group he belonged to sponsored no fewer than ten Tea Party rallies in six different states. The founder of that Neo Nazi group said those Tea Party rallies were "fertile grounds for recruitment" too....look it up! Ready himself was quoted as saying he was mentored by Russell Pearce, a Tea Party member and former majority leader in the AZ state legislature....long after Ready was associated with a Neo Nazi group. So does it make me a "commie Liberal" for stating those facts and saying there's a big problem there?? Instead of crying and acting so persecuted when facts aren't on your side, try owning your violent loonies on the right and get them the hell out of your party instead of letting them fund right wing events and speak at rallies!

                                                              What you fail to realize is that main stream American journalism is market based. Should a main stream journalistic outlet such as a major newspaper or TV reporter spew utter lies to further an agenda, the remaining journalist in that same market who COMPETE with them will counter that with their own story.

                                                              To gain market share, they can easily discredit the news organization that displayed shoddy journalism and published unchecked facts. This is why for every newspaper sold by the Washington Times, the Washington Post sells 10 newspapers.

                                                              Media outlets understand this. Only those so wrapped up in their paranoia believe that all the news organizations get together and spew the same story, all steeped with lies. Get a grip. In a capitalistic society, the news organizations that keep it honest gain the public's trust and therefore have the most readership or viewership.

                                                              Integrity = profits. Each news organization keeps the other in CHECK. While I'm never surprised when people ignore facts, it's incumbent upon the sane to remind folks how things like "market share" really work.

Even as I consider myself reasonably to the left, I believe even more strongly that the center needs to stand up and retake this country! When you just have the far left and the far right, you will always end up with two different versions of the "facts"....we need the center!

                                                                        Concerned , I agree , extremism in any form is mankind's worst vice . Unfortunately , people often regard the center as compromising their beliefs . many also equate it with dialectic materialism , a communist philosophy , which because it is communist , too few Americans will give any validity to it . We often refuse to believe that communism or socialism can have any validity at all . I am neither a communist nor a socialist , but I do find valid , thoughts in both . Note to others ; National Socialism and Socialism are two very different things , please pick up and read a few history and poli-sci books before you speak .

Anyone convicted of a violent felony or extreme domestic violence should have their right to own guns rescinded. The same goes for mentally ill individuals and members of criminal and extremist groups. The NRA has become so outrageous in their philosophy that George HW Bush, a life long member, resigned when the NRA made a remark about killing police officers. I forget the excavate quote but it was about aiming for the head to be sure of a kill.

                                                                              False. The NRA supports "Three Strikes & You're Out", a program to incarcerate criminals. Also, there is a process in purchasing a firearm called a "background check". This is a function of law enforcement, not the NRA. If a person who buys a gun who is not legally allowed to do so, it is the government's fault (bad record keeping, plea bargains, HIPAA, etc.) that allows it, not the NRA.

                                                                                The NRA does concentrate a lot on the second half because that is the part that is disputed most often. Very few quibble about the "militia".

                                                                                What "Fire Arms Act" allows felons to purchase firearms? Even a marijuana possession conviction from 20 years ago would make you ineligible. Gun charges are the first thing to be plea-bargained out of a case as they are supposed to be a mandatory 10-year sentence.

                                                                                What would a family past history prove? Just because a family member has/had something doesn't mean someone will get it. My father & sister are pre-diabetic & hypertensive but I show no signs. Guilt by association?

                                                                                    For someone who feels the need to protect America's borders by working at it, he had joined several organizations which are anti-immigration. So far I guess that makes him pretty dangerous,tongue in cheek. However, he did make the mistake of joining the Socialist group. While it's hard to know when he did, it would seem to act as a catalyst to fuel whatever leanings he had towards other races. Hate only needs fuel for it to spread like wild fire in a person's soul, heart and mind. Obviously this man's spiritual side became filled with darkness and he lost his compassionate nature sometime ago. Blinded, he was unable to truly love and care for even the most helpless of his own species, the baby Lily. We are fortunate he only killed four before taking his own life instead of going to some public place and taking out dozens of lives. What a pity evil is still flourishing in the hearts and minds of mankind.
