From what little information was there to read on this article. It's too early to come to any conclusion about this accident. The only thing that really makes this front page news is the words secret service and news last month of a scandal by a special little branch of the outfit in some foreign country. Time to wait and see what the facts are before people start chasing ghosts. I doubt that the agent went out looking for someone to hit.

Would this story have made the news if the driver was an average citizen driving home from work instead of a secret service agent? I doubt it!

One of Obama's storm troopers, unfortunately from what the story said, he may be speeding, but he had the right of way. Won't get charged.

If she was in a marked crosswalk I hope this guy is criminally charged. Did he try to render first air? Why was the only thing out of his mouth "I'm on duty" does he think that it makes his negligence justified somehow?

The comments about the driving techniques,pedestrian right of way, the tragic taking of a human life is here and all some of these low lifes can do is make jokes and stupid comments. Pedestrians running to try and beat traffic is not smart and costly sometimes, they think they can beat the traffic and sometimes they can't. I am sure each and every one of us has been in position to be the pedestrian and the driver and in most cases have been lucky. As far as the media goes, let us start seeing some stories about all these folks that work for the media and newspapers, and I mean all from the part timers to the big stars...I am sure you will find that on a daily basis, just like our doctors, lawyers, police, fire, military...they too get arrested for everything from drunk in public to domestic violence, and everything else, but do you see the big headlines??????Camera man for national television studio gets arrested for beating up his wife and children....nope, didn't see it. The city of New York, yesterday, probably had numerous pedestrians hit by cars...after all the naked city with 8 million people....but the media has to drone on this.

Let's play reporter...and start with a couple of unsubstantiated allegations: to wit: this poor woman is actually an alleged Columbian prostitute allegedly seen at the Caribe hotel just last month in the company of, wait for it, alleged Secret Service agents. She been hiding out in the US, fearing for her life ...until an allegedly 'on-the-job' SS agent just happened to run her down!!!! Accident? Accidents don't sell news. Conspiracies sell news. You figure it out....

By next week, of course, it'll be determined to be a tragic accident....

Rough month to be a Secret Service Agent...

Once again, the NY Daily News reported that witnesses said the pedestrians were crossing against the light. The SS man did have the right of way. Witnesses also said the driver ran up over a curb blowing out both right side tires but did not specify if he did that to avoid the accident.

These men, secret service or off duty police officers really believe they have the right to all roads. Where do they get off thinking this? Was the secret service flashing his lights or anything???????

I live in a development where these men live, and let me tell you.....25 miles per hour is not in their brains.

My sympathy to the family...and I hope the family sues their asses off.

How many people get hit by cars in NYC daily or weekly? Why does the press have to sort out the details such as Secret Service or what ever? What if it was a taxi? Would it have made the news?

The press just does what it can to bait you all into reading. White guy shoots black guy, you'll read about it. Human shoots human, probably not going to get much attention.

Take the labels off any story and it is just life repeating itself. Drama needs to have flash and color.

The car did not hit the woman by itself and how come always an accident unless it generall public

A tragedy has happened and ,of course, MSNBC has to inflame it by using the Secret Service...why is this place still in business?
