I have traveled in Muslim countries and never had a problem. In the service I had many friends in Samsun and Trabzon, and Incirlik in Turkey and none of them ever had a problem. There is more than one verse in the Koran which speaks of Allah punishing Jews by turning them into apes and pigs. So if Allah did so (because they were insolent and refused to convert to Islam) then it's not a big stretch to see why so many present-day Muslims seize upon the same verses to dehumanize Jews today. I didn't. I never claimed that the quotations were my own work. I also told you directly which Hadith collections they came from. You know, there are plenty of ways to quote things, not all of which involve providing a page (or Hadith) number. You really need to get off that plagiarism horse, particularly when I have found that most people who sling the accusation around the most actually are doing it themselves. :)

As to my reasons for not directly stating the precise location? It is for two reasons. The first reason was that it is important for you to see context. If you are forced to look for it you will look at it instead of ignoring it. The second reason is more simple than that. It is important for people here to see how you will hang yourself with your own arguments because you lack important information and often omit context.

I found this next hadith interesting.

Ahadith do not originate in a vacuum (except, perhaps those of Abu Hurayra). There is historical context. You omitted to mention it yet again. Bait ul-Midras was a Jewish center located at Al-Madinah. Are you seeing the context emerging yet? No? OK, let's go a bit further.

There is that pesky little detail about the repeated treachery committed there by the Jewish groups once they were no longer enamored with Muhammad. One need only go a little further forward in the same Hadith collection you quote to see an example of that behavior.

Note: I have corrected the multiple spelling errors in the quote-- and I also find this Hadith interesting, even if it is correct and real (as you should know by now, Abu Hurayra sometimes had a problem with telling Hadith correctly and has been accused of making up his own at times).

By the way, if you think for one moment that this is a reference to a "convert or die proposition," you would be quite mistaken. They were offered a choice to convert, or to sell their lands and emigrate from Madinah peacefully. I was Roman Catholic. I have nothing whatsoever against Catholics, my family are good Catholics and are good people. I personally did not agree with too many of the central doctrines of the faith to believe in it. I was 'agnostic' for about 2 years, and then I came to Islam. I spent a good deal of time considering the same questions and concerns everyone who fears Islam has. After interacting with the people, I realized that 99% of them are very decent and hate violence. I recognize the need to monitor those elements that are dangerous, but this does not mean people should go out of their way to cause trouble with people who are just as 'American' as they are.

We have never had a military tradition of training or troops to have some sort of hate for our enemies. We train them to kill our enemies. There is a difference. That's why our side would never strap a bomb to his body and detonate it.
