DSK sues hotel maid for $1m, says she damaged his reputation

Dominique Strauss-Kahn is suing the hotel housekeeper who accused him of sexually assaulting her, saying she seriously damaged his reputation with what he calls a bogus allegation.

The former International Monetary Fund leader struck back at maid Nafissatou Diallo's lawsuit against him with a $1 million defamation claim of his own Monday, exactly a year after she told police he tried to rape her in his Manhattan hotel suite. He says whatever happened was consensual.

Read the original report at NBC New York

He was arrested, resigned from the IMF and spent several days behind bars and three months on house arrest before prosecutors dropped the case, saying they'd lost confidence in Diallo's trustworthiness because she'd lied about her background and changed her account of what she did right after leaving Strauss-Kahn's room. Although prosecutors didn't say they believed she misrepresented the encounter itself, Strauss-Kahn's court papers blast her claims as intentional lies.

"As a direct result of her malicious and wanton false accusation, Mr. Strauss-Kahn suffered ... substantial harm to his professional and personal reputation in the United States and throughout the world," says his Bronx court filing, written by attorneys William W. Taylor III, Hugh Campbell and others.

Strauss-Kahn's suit was submitted two weeks after the same court rejected his argument that diplomatic immunity should shield him from Diallo's suit, a ruling he may yet appeal.

Diallo's lawyers said Strauss-Kahn's defamation claim an example of the "misogynistic attitude" of a man who now faces preliminary charges of being involved in a hotel prostitution ring in France.

As of last week, French investigators were also examining accusations that Strauss-Kahn may have been involved in a rape during a sex party in a Washington, D.C., hotel in 2010. Separately, a French writer accused him last year of having tried to rape her during a 2003 interview, an accusation prosecutors decided was too old to try. Strauss-Kahn denies all the allegations.

"As with his plea for diplomatic immunity, we are entirely confident this latest desperate ploy will be swiftly rejected," Diallo attorneys Kenneth W. Thompson and Douglas H. Wigdor wrote in an e-mail.

Diallo, now 33, says that when she arrived to clean Strauss-Kahn's suite, he abruptly chased her down, tried to yank down her pantyhose and forced her to perform oral sex. She says a ligament in her shoulder was torn, among other injuries.

The married Strauss-Kahn, 63, has acknowledged there was a sexual encounter and called it a "moral failing," but insisted it wasn't forced. His new filing says he and Diallo "engaged in mutually consensual sexual acts" and says she "suffered no injuries whatsoever."

At the time, Strauss-Kahn was considered a leading Socialist candidate to take on conservative incumbent French President Nicolas Sarkozy. Socialist Francois Hollande won the election last week.

Maybe this guy is guilty but then again he might not be. These charges have never been proved and there is a distinct possibility he was set up by his political enemies. He's also kind of old so unless he takes Viagra for breakfast everyday it's pretty unlikely he's the sexual predator he's been made out to look like..... I'm just saying.

Where is a maid going to get $1 million ?

Based on all the other things that have surfaced about this French pastry pervert, I believe her story.

He should be careful; just because he was not charged does not mean she cannot countersue him.

He should grab a Playboy and just stay in his room.

Strauss-Kahn is a sexual predator and now he is trying to victimize this woman again in court. If it were just her accusations I might believe him about being set up, however, he has been accused by numerous women of the same type of behavior so I am not buying his story. First he tried to say nothing happened and then changed his story to whatever happened a consensual. That change in story alone makes me disbelieve anything coming out of his mouth. I guess he found out she had some proof of the sexual encounter so he changed his story to try and cover himself. I would bet the million dollars he is suing for that if she agreed to drop her civil suit against him that his suit would miraculously disappear as well. This is just this @!$%# trying to intimidate her into withdrawing her civil suit now that the courts have told him he can't hide behind diplomatic immunity. The SOB belongs behind bars for all of the women he has attacked or used his position to pressure into having sex with him. There are just too many accusations against this @!$%# to believe that they are all making it up. As the saying goes - where there's smoke there's fire.

He is a class A sleeze bag. Nothing like seeing the rich suing the poor to inspire hatred. I believe he was guilty of what she accused him of regardless of her confusion or misrepresentation of some details. If there is justice, he will end up in prison and be on the receiving end of this type of abuse.

Revenge. She was caught in a recording admitting she was making up the story in order to get money out of Strauss-Kuhn. She basically ruined his political career. I don't blame him for wanting to ruin her life, too. She deserves it.

His repuatation wasn't exactly squeaky-clean before all of this happened, and she certainly doesn't have the money. All this does is get his name back in the news and remind everyone of what he was accused of doing. If he had just laid low for a year or two, most people would have forgotten about it.

What an a hole this fxxxer is. How does he think he will get $1,000,000 from a hotel maid if he wins. He will probably make her work it off in a sexual manner. I wish I would be able to be on the jury because I would find in her favor and make him pay her $10,000,000,000 or make him work it off on his knees.

I hope his junk falls off.

The $1,000,000 in damages will draws against the money this woman will earn in selling the story of using a false rape claim as a weapon of extortion.

But stories like these only remind men that every sexual act should be video'd (camera phone) and include a woman's explicit verbal consent to sexual relations before and after the act.

You see how arrogant 1%ers are... This POS has the gaul to do this... He felt he has the right because he was at the time head of the IMF and was vastly wealthy... Common people are door mats to him... He had done this in the past and will do it again... Is this the way the IMF and the Federal Reserve money lenders feel about us all... He should have been tried and put in jail - but because he was a IMF leader and far wealthier than the accusor, he just walked away... His sex/rape historic reputation was exactly what this accusor said that had happened... he did it just before leaving for the airport to fly back to Europe where he would fight the accusor from there... he miscalculated and was caught before he left... but alas, money and power prevailed...

New York prosecutors BLEW IT big time when they did not go ahead with this case. Regardless of this woman's prior background, this man has a SOLID past history of sexually assaulting women and apparently continues to do so to this day. For some strange reason, he appears to think that your p---y is his p---y to take whenever he feels like it. I truly hope some day that some Lorena Bobbit-type comes along and whacks it off!

Has this man ever been convicted? Why should a man's past be relevant in a prosecution but not a woman's?

And if you are not up on the facts, it's EASY ! Follow the money ! Greece was going to get no more cash from the IMF.....so they frame this guy, make him step down, end his political career, then all of a sudden, charges are dropped because the witness lacks credibility.........Imagine that !
