Fearing traffic and security nightmares, people steered clear of Chicago's downtown area Monday, and the protests were smaller and more peaceful than those that occurred over the weekend. NBC's John Yang and Chuck Todd report.
The nutty radical right has had their way. Haliburton, Blackwater and hundreds of other "contractors" have had a gravy train of tax dollars to enrich themselves with. The constant, unbroken streem of lies that has come our way via the Bush administration has left 100,000 Iraqi non combatants dead. Probably the same amount seriously injured, hundreds of thousands have been made refugees in their own country. The systematic invasion, destruction, and decimation of this countrys infrastructure is nothing more than a list of war crimes and crimes against humanity. The poor unsuspecting dupes in our military were sold a pack of lies that got them into the mercenary forces of the U.S. corporations. I applaud these brave veterans who could simply not keep silent any longer. If the U.S. is going to go forward with this radical aggression into the rest of the 21st century then please let's not wrap a flag around ourselves and blather on about how we are making the world a safer place. We are empire, and we will smash our way in like a giant drunken bully and do as we please.
Too bad it didn't work out for the nutty radical left.
