Officials at the University of Texas' Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs are apologizing for an embarrassing typo on a commencement program.
Guests to Saturday's ceremony were handed a printed program that read, "Lyndon B. Johnson School of Pubic Affairs."
"Obviously, we are mortified. It's beyond embarrassing," Susan Binford, the school’s assistant dean for communications, told TheBlaze.com, which published a photograph of the typo. “As soon as we realized the mistake, everybody went into overdrive and we went to work to reprint it.”
The school also issued an apology on Twitter that said, "Our deepest apologies to our 2012 graduates for the egregious typo in our commencement program. We are working to distribute new programs."

Media blogger Jim Romenesko also mentioned that the school misspelled egregious as "eggregious" in their apology tweet. That tweet has since been corrected, according to NBCDFW.com.
Texas Tribune editor Evan Smith was first to post the image to Twitter.

My son is a 1990 graduate of the "United States Navel Academy", and he had a diploma issued by the US government ot prove it!
By incredible conicidence, Vice-President Dan Quayle was the graduation speaker!
How could an institute of higher learning miss such a mistake. Any fool knows it should have read, "William J. Clinton School of Pubic Affairs."
DrRWKline- OMG...you have GOT to be kidding!? That's SO sad...but absolutely hilarious!
I'd keep the original program for posterity. That's a keeper. Hilarious.
Don't fret it teach! It's not near as bad as MISSPELLING the word "SCHOOL" on the highway! I don't believe either was intentional, but $hit happens!
I once held a brochure from a famous eastern museum that said, and I quote: "If you can't find what you are looking for on the map, feel free to ask one of our uninformed guards." Uh-huh.
Looks like this university suffers from the same problem as msn - a lack of competent editors!
They should have had the doofus Bush as speaker on the same printed program.
I once got a memo from the Humor Resources department - about a new rumor policy. Didn 't know whether or not to believe it!
