I've got no issues with the decision made by the officer...but at the same time...I know what will happen if the "Media" and the "Media Whores" believes it has the correct set of details to sell news papers...The attack will be described as "not life threatening" and that the cop is just a "racist"/"homophobe" using unnecessary deadly force...

I understand where you are coming from. I do, we all know what the media is capable of doing, as we are surrounded in it. However, there is certainly more to this developing story at this time. Would you have taken on a crazy man who was eating someone's face in an up close and personal attempt for a takedown, if you were alone, and had a firearm? I wouldn't. This reminds me of the tragic story of the naked ape Travis who ate off a woman's face and hands before he was fataly shot by the police. Just shows how beastly some humans can be.

While I fully understand the police officer's actions, he may very well find himself in deep trouble. A police officer to shooting an unarmed man is going to raise some questions about whether the use of deadly force was necessary. Unless this guy was much bigger than the officer to a point where the officer can say he felt he could not physically subdue him without shooting him, the officer's actions are going to be called into question. The fact that the guy refused to comply with the officer's verbal instructions to stop does not in itself justify using deadly force. The use of deadly force in this situation will also be seriously questioned since I believe that a non-lethal weapons like a taser is standard equipment for Miami police officers and could have been used in lieu of deadly force. I obviously do not have any sympathy for the guy who was shot, but I think anytime police use deadly force against an unarmed person questions should be asked and a determination made if the use of this level of force was justified.

I heard from a very reliable source that face eating naked aliens have landed in Florida. That is why it took so many shots to kill the creature. So be careful when walking the streets and if you spot one of these naked creatures ,run for your life.

Could there be a combination of mental and a drug, like PCP? Police Officers claim they empty their guns into someone on PCP and they will keep on coming at you.

I thought about the taser myself but even when tased some individuals can and do continue to be violent especaly when insane or under the influence of certain types of drugs. That said I wouldn't want to let the attacker bleed on me either.

In my state it does. It's actually been in the local news quite a bit lately, because the police union was paying up to $500 to cops involved in shootings (under the idea that they would need a small vacation/breathing room after the experience), but which was labeled in the press as a "bounty." In any case, you better obey the police commands in NM. You disobey, you run, they can and sometimes do shoot you for it.

In any case, I'd have shot this guy too. I would hope most of everyone here would do the same. You can't be too careful with Zombies. Never hesitate.

Officer's are trained to fight but, when you are facing a full blown mental person whose adrenalin make him 10x's stronger or on PCP does the same. Added to the mix you are trying to save the victim's life, you take out the suspect. In this case the officer would have been careless and wrong to reholster his gun and try to fight the suspect and it does not sound like he had time to wait for back up...

It seems that both were naked so there may be a bit more tothis story than is currently known. Also, according to the video, they let the victim lay there for quite a bit of time before providing any kind of medical attention. The face chewer was next to him dead being full of bullet holes. Perhaps they were waiting for EMS to show up.

After digging around and doing some research, it seems that the innocuous sounding 'bath salts' are a whole nother beast. Seems they make PCP seem benign by comparison. Some little ijits are using them to lose weight. All the symptoms manifested by this cannibalistic attacker are also symptoms of 'bath salt' usage. I would doubt it was a constant worry in Miami either. Heck I don't have a worry of having my head bashed-in in my neighborhood either but sure enough it happened to someone in their home just last year. You can never tell when the crazies are going to attack. I can tell you they will think twice when looking at the end of my five-seven,.45, .40 or when I'm racking the 12 gauge(to name a few), I keep a clip of Black Talons ready just in case. What I read in this article was that the Miami police need to carry bigger guns - one 45 or 357 round through the head should do the job. By using 6 shots (was he using bird shot?) the possibility of injury to bystanders is greatly increased. A crazy who turned on the officer could have done serious damage before the 6th shot. Even the strongest man in the grip of 'roid rage can be dropped instantly by one large, powerful round through the brain.

Never draw unless you plan to shoot, never shoot unless you plan to kill - make every shot a kill shot, none of that "wing 'em a little" craziness. Shooting someone is not discipline. It is a determined effort to end their life. It must be seriously considered and then accurately and swiftly carried out.

OMG so freaky..thank God I rarely go into that part of Miami..I was in Jupiter this weekend. I've always said that in MIAMI the freaks come at at night but geewhiz now the zombies r out in broad daylight..very coincidental as I was just putting in a complaint Thursday night to a Walgreens manager on US1 in North Miami as everytime I go there I am approached by homeless or drug addict individuals asking or soliciting or selling something..very annoying..no security..last Thursday some girl out of the blue with no id and almost yelling asked me if i could give her some blood..unbelievable.

Miami is definitely a crime infested high drug use area that has spread to Broward County..most are bad immigrants from some other states and latin American and Caribbean nations..you rarely find anyone here originally from here anymore..they've all gone..i left but had to come back..the police are screwed up too..mean, rude, aggresive they're on attack mode most of the time..i guess they r scared but it has definitely become a a little HELL here..now i know the freaks come out all times of the day..only GOD can save us..thank GOD I have lot of security at home..after our family has been robbed n assaulted 17 times within the last 35 yrs..we have become experts...high alert people..high alert..beware of ur surroundings at ALL times..never know when ur neighbor feels hungry and finds u tasty!!!
