Queshawn King was stopped last week in Chicago.
Police pulled a car of six people over in East Garfield Park, a community in the west side of Chicago, last Wednesday night . Two children were seated inside, with no car seats or seat belts, police said. When the officer approached the vehicle, he saw the 19-year-old driver, Queshawn King, making "furtive" downward movements to the three-year-old, the Chicago Tribune reported, citing police.
An officer then asked the man, who was described as "nervous," to step out of the car. He heard King yell to the toddler by her nickname, "Fatty" multiple times.

A police sergeant approached the front passenger side of the car and saw the child holding the handgun. When he tried to retrieve it, she threw the 9 mm weapon to the floor.
It was loaded with eight rounds, but did not discharge, police said.
King was charged with felony unlawful use of a weapon for having a loaded weapon inside the vehicle, misdemeanor endangering the life and health of a child, and misdemeanor possession of a firearm without a valid FOID (Firearms Owner's Identification) card.
Besides King and the young girl, four other people were in the car, including another child, the 3-year old's mother, grandmother and a man who was behind the wheel.
The other occupants of the car reportedly told the police the gun did not belong to them, the Tribune reported.
King was subsequently taken to Cook County Jail Thursday after a judge set his bail at $50,000, according to the Cook County sheriff's office.

What the hell kind of writing is this? I am confused. The writer has 2 drivers of the vehicle. impossible. 1.) This kind of sloppy ass writing is becoming all to prevalent. what exactly do the writers get paid for? Is there an editor to fact or spell check? This is ridiculous. If there is an HUGE error like this then how can I believe ANYTHING in this article?!?
I particularly liked the period at the beginning of the sentence, however, the ad revenue from your click is not dependent on the quality of the content. If it was, MSNBC would have been out of business a long time ago. They have to have the worst staff writers I've ever seen. In this case they get a bye because the article was actually written by an NBC reporter in Chicago.

Geez. I can't believe none of the parents or grandmom wouldn't have taken this gun away. I can't believe they let their child hold this gun, loaded with bullets to shoot herself or one of the other family members. Children need to be removed from this home for sure.

All I can say is, besides the awful writing and messed up information in the article, please get these kids away from these parents! Are you kidding me? Abuse? I guess! The 3 year old has a loaded gun and her nickname is "Fatty"? The nickname alone is abuse! Who are these awful people? They certainly do not deserve to have beautiful, vulnerable children!

So it should not be much of a surprise that he's driving down the street with two infants without seatbelts or safety seats, while handling a loaded 9mm pistol which he passed of to the little girl named Fatty. What if Fatty aimed it at the officer, I mean the Po Po?

Okay, I think we can all agree that this particular gun is totally at fault here. These innocent people were just driving along, minding their own bidness, and this stupid gun asserted itself inappropriately and now everyone is in trouble.
Worse, since there were other guns in the vicinity, that made THIS gun even worse than it would ordinarily be. Everyone knows that guns are pack objects, and are emboldened by simply driving by other houses where other guns are lying in wait to harm someone. Oh, one gun by itself at the South Pole at the 4th of July with no other guns for hundreds of miles wouldn't be so bad...It might go off all by itself, reload itself, aim itself and pull its own trigger 10 or 20 times....but with only windswept snow and ice, no tragedy.
