To pepper spray or taze the attacker would have also hit the victim as well, the victim has already suffered enough. A well placed bullet into the attacker would not harm the victim any further. The attacker got what he deserved, there is absolutely no excuse for what he did. Drugs are not an excuse.

Yes Wolfe I understand now that to tazer the attacker, as he was in direct contact with the victim, would also harm the victim. I had not thought of that initially when I wondered why the officer did not tazer the attacker. Still now, knowing they were in direct contact, I wonder why the officer did not taze him. After all, the victim is still in harms way, right? At this point the victim is in a coma, is a tazer really going hurt him further? And if the officer had tazed the attacker instead of shooting and killing him, yes, questions might have been answered. Mostly, "What the hell were you doing?" If you say the "attacker got what he deserved" you are judge and jury. Is that true? In America, we actually have a judicial system, not one person. I agree there is no excuse for what he did and that drugs are not an excuse. What remains is that there are drugs in the attackers system yet to be determined. That is a mystery that needs to be determined. It is not an explanation though it might have had some determining factor, which legally MUST be considered. By killing the attacker we will never, ever, have the true explanation. How is that valid? Certainly, the victim, if he comes out of the coma, will want to know what provoked the attack. Certainly the attacker's mom who says this is not the true behavior of her son, wants to know what provoked the attack.

Did he get what he deserved? How can you say that when there are so many unanswered questions that remain? Killing the attacker ends the possibility of the answers. In this situation, the answers are crucial to stopping the ridiculous "zombie" talk and finding out what truly happened. Doesn't the victim deserve that? Using a tazer would have provided that opportunity. Yes, even if it did harm the victim.

We are talking about a "culture of violence" here. A culture of violence in the black community that can only be resolved by blacks themselves from the day children are born to the day they reach adulthood. You see this culture of violence everywhere: in the attitudes towards education, the attitudes of adults blaming everyone but themselves for their problems and the decisions they made, to the music you listen to, and even to the types of dogs you have as pets. Its compounded by the extremely high percentage of black children that grow up without a good father to guide them and high out-of-wedlock births that the mother cannot support without government assistance. If you or your wife or child should ever be a victim of a violent attack would you want the police to hesitate in killing the person who would kill you? How about your child? What if that decision to taser cost your child his life? Would it be worth it to you to say "I cared more about a lunatic's rights than my own childs life" or does this only apply when people you deem unimportant are at risk?

It is easy to judge police with the benifit of hindsight. Until you have been in the "split second" situation, save your judgement. Also if you knew anything about the effects of PCP, you would know that a tazer would have little to no effect.

I seriously hope all of you people talking about zombies are just joking. Zombies are not real. Period.
