Police: Woman robs same store three times in two days

Latasha Singletary is on probation from a robbery in April last year.

A woman who robbed the same liquor store three times in less than 24 hours was arrested at her home in Fall River, Mass., police said.

Latasha Singletary, 30, is charged with two counts of armed robbery and one count of robbery while masked. And Singletary was on pre-trial probation involving an armed robbery in April 2011 at the same store.

Investigators say that Singletary went inside Anna's Liquors at 4 p.m. Tuesday with a knife and T-shirt pulled over her head and demanded that the 52-year-old clerk give her money.

Police were unable to find her after a search.

Singletary then returned the next day at 10 a.m. to rob the store again, police said. This time, in addition to money, cigarettes, lottery tickets and liquor bottles were also taken. While police were typing up the incident report for the morning robbery, they received a call at 2 p.m. that Singletary was robbing the store again.

Police descended on the area and, following tips from people in the neighborhood, found Singletary at her home.

"People really stepped up to the plate to help us," Detective J.D. Costa told The Herald News. "We got a lot of community cooperation. It really made a difference."

She was being held on $25,000 bail before her arraignment Thursday.

She probably figures if they can't find her then she can keep going back. Why isn't there a camera feed from the parking lot so they can see her coming? Obviously she ain't there to shop!!!

This world is one where people get extremely desperate right now. Can't exactly let them off, but should really demean them either.

Sad thing is that this may be not the last time she might rob this place if she ever gets out from bail or finish serving a long sentence

Taxed, Ever hear of the Bill of Rights? The first ten amendments of the US Constitution? Pay special attention to the eighth amendment. I highlighted it for you.

      • Fifth Amendment – due process, double jeopardy, self-incrimination, eminent domain.
No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.
      • Sixth Amendment – Trial by jury and rights of the accused; Confrontation Clause, speedy trial, publi trial, right to counsel
In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence.
      • Seventh Amendment – Civil trial by jury.
In suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, and no fact tried by a jury, shall be otherwise re-examined in any court of the United States, than according to the rules of the common law.
      • Eighth Amendment– Prohibition of excessive bail and cruel and unusual punishment.
      •

Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.

Her being shot would not be cruel, She has proven repeatedly she cannot live in society and will harm others given any chance she has. Keeping her in jail is a waste to taxpayers as she has shown she will not change and be a waste of money. Only other option to shooting her would be insuring she can NEVER try to rob someone again in any way possible. if you want her locked up it should be for life and you can pay for it, tired of supporting them in jail then giving them welfare when they are out and cannot hold a job cause they will not work for what they need but try to scam, cheat or steal from others. Cruel is taking (stealing) money from people to support thse that refuse to work and continue to commit crimes , stealing from others and not respecting others rights. It makes it harder on families to have a decent life when you keep stealing their money to support people like this both in jail and on welfare.

Since it was apparently so important to get money from this particular store, it probably would have been easier to convince them to fork over some protection money.
