Police: Man bites, and kills, dog while high on drugs

Police say a man was high on drugs when he killed a neighbor's dog in Waco, Texas.

Michael Terron Daniel, 22, is charged with cruelty to a non-livestock animal, a felony because the dog died, NBC station KCEN of Waco reported.

KCEN reported that Daniel is accused of going  to a home on June 14 while high on the synthetic marijuana drug K-2, assaulting several people and chasing a neighbor on his hands and knees while growling like a dog.

Waco Police Dept.

Michael Terron Daniel was high on the synthetic drug K-2 when witnesses say he bit into a family pet and killed it.

Witnesses told police that Daniel then grabbed a medium-sized black dog and took it to the front porch, where he started beating and strangling it, the Waco Tribune-Herald reported.

The paper reported he began biting and ripping pieces of the animal's flesh.

KCEN reported that when police arrived, Daniel was sitting on the front porch with the dead dog on his lap. Officers told the station he was incoherent and covered in the dog's blood and fur.

The Tribune-Herald reported Daniel told police he was on a "bad trip" because of the drug. He was taken to a hospital, then arrested on Monday.

While I'm not big on spamming in comment threads, this one I agree with. Docs tried me on the other artificial version for nausea after my surgery, doesn't do a damn thing.

So instead of beating and eating a dog alive, he'll just sit on his porch and do nothing. You can't use the "see, if he was doing something else illegal this would have never happened" excuse which is what all the pot heads use. Medical marijuana is a joke as well. At that point it might as well just be 100% legal to grow, sell and use because if you go to the doctor to get the "prescription card" they walk you through what to even say to get it. Don't get me wrong, i'm all for doing nothing in life but getting stoned and making food. #sarcasm Medical marijuana is 100% abused by stoners.

Ep this is not always true. 35 years ago a good friends sister got the big C and the only thing that gave her an appetite and allowed her to keep food down was weed. No one know how much time that gave her to spend with her family-something worth more than all the money in the world to them. Medical marijuana should be prescribed and as legal as any pharma drug in my opinion.

This is you brain, this is you brain on drugs-getting munchies, bloodshot eyes, no ambition.

This is your brain on synthetic drugs, killing and eating living things during a psychotic episode, and any other host of whacked out behaviors.

Most of thought it was a hot dog.

I am winding down but I would love to compare life accomplishments with you some time Rob. And most of it was on pot. You know not of what you speak. Just what you have been programed to think. Too bad. If you follow the link I posted some of your misconceptions would be dispelled. But then the following is probably lost on you as well.

"There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments, and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance—that principle is contempt prior to investigation."

Been there done that, long time ago, paid heavy price.

Doubt it, love all the feel good stories, know it has medical properties, also worked in medical field.

compare life accomplishments

Unless you started collage level math at 8, had third highest IQ in your age group in your state at that age, have multiple degrees, finished an AA in 8 weeks pasted with 98%, then I seriously doubt it, I change fields about every two years to keep entertained. Wouldn't expect a yankee to understand lol.

You don't have to have great spelling to have a high IQ by any means. I've known geniuses who can't even put a sentence together without writing it out. Most people with extremely high IQ's usually can't function well in social environments. Sheldon from Big Bang Theory is exactly how most very high IQ people think and operate.

Nope married 21 years 4 great kids, nice small home on a coast, semi-retired everything I own is paid for don't use credit, enjoying life, fish a LOT, dabble in a lot of different things and business to keep from getting bored. As for spelling - dyslexic - don't care most of the time, get my point across.

Yep look at the world and see things that make me say I got no idea what some people were thinking or why they do what they do.

Things like smoking a substance someone cooked up that is known to make people act even dumber than usual

No one "cooks up" MJ rob, but the synthetic stuff yes. If you did try it, you can't really say that it takes away your ambition as you clearly found success. And if you counter and say that you only found success after you stopped and think that's the universal solution, you are ignorant and your IQ becomes meaningless.

Clearly, even if you didn't find another person's accomplishments to be comparable to your own, you'd recognize the fact that there are accomplished people out there who continue to smoke marijuana and still find success, because it is about the person and not the substance. Whatever you claim to have accomplished in your lifetime, Bruce Lee has beaten you. And Bruce Lee, was a fan of cannabis.

Just know that a lot of the people that I hung out with before I was forced in a different direction went on to have a lot of problems in their lives. I got busted at a younger age but still old enough to feel the full weight of the law and in a lot of ways I am glad, it forced me in a different direction, school part of my sentencing. As for a lot of people who lived in Bruce Lee's era they were fond of MJ, and before that it was alcohol, go back even further it was opium/morphine, after MJ it was coke, so on so forth, now we have all the wonderful chemist produced synthetic substances that of late have given us these kind of stories. I mean really attacking the neighbors dog killing it and then trying to eat it, zombie face munchers, naked hood surfers, or any of the other batsh*t crazy stories we have seen of late, you think that all this just started randomly, nope started with people trying to get around the law by cooking up a substitute of good old MJ and poor old cocoa

No one "cooks up" MJ

it is about the person and not the substance.

Ya but they have genetically modified it greatly, the THC is 20x what it was 30 years ago, not to mention all of the crime that goes with it and legalizing it won't make that go away. It is basically legal where I live and we still have lots of crime associated with it, medical shops and grows getting robbed, legal medical users getting assaulted, robbed and killed, so no not harmless.

Problem is no one has any way of knowing if they will be one of the ones who can "handle it" or not, and it does lead some to use harder drugs and everything that goes with that. Ya it would be great if we lived in world were it was legal and it had no side effects or any problems with it, but we don't.

OH ya and Bruce Lee is dead, I'M STILL ALIVE.

Agreed, but the synthetic K2 has been proven to cause its users to go nuts. I guarantee you the Miami man had used other drugs in the past; and very possibly k2 or bath salts. Just marijuana will not lead someone to act the way he did. If that was the case we would have had many, many more whacked out "users" on the streets long ago lol. I'm willing to go with the "just plain nuts" theory for these two lol.

If it was my porch and my dog, not only would he have went to jail, he would have needed immediate medical attention to save his sorry drug induced tail end, if it could be saved. I have plenty of bad experiences with drugs, not first had use, however, I watched my father and two of his brothers destroy their lives using. They are sorry too and they are my family (and yes I still call them that). I hope and pray they put him in jail. Yep in jail he will have all the comforts of home, 3 hots and a cot, and he may even be able to get a hold of some illegal substance of sorts, but he will miss that one thing I know all those incarcerated miss most of all.....freedom. He deserves to sit in jail.

Just say no to synthetic marijuana (and bath salts!). Please don't try these synthetic substances just cause they are legal.

Marijuana being illegal is ridiculous. The classification of cannabis (schedule 1) has no scientific basis, and needs to be changed! However, cannabis being illegal doesn't stop me (or so many, many others) from enjoying it's many benefits. I've had great sucess using it to treat my high blood pressure and migraines. And I even get it organic from a local grower! Remember, it's just a plant, a natural herbal remedy! We should all have a plant or two growing in our garden.

If the dog had killed this piece of human feces, it would have been shot on the spot, or dragged away to be put to death, probably in a gas chamber. Had this been my dog, this ugly, bottom feeding troll wouldn't have made it off the porch with all body parts attached. I don't care if the loser was high on natural or synthetic drugs, or just plain crazy, he needs to simply disappear down a hole somewhere.

And none of the people that had been around him thought to knock the sh*t out of him and save the dog? I'm sorry, but if it was my dog or my friends and family around that guy he would not have been conscious long enough to do the damage he did. I wouldn't kill him mind you, I would just knock him out and restrain him just in case he woke up before the police arrived. The people that allowed him to act this way are as much at fault as he is.
