FBI: Los Angeles model Kourtney Reppert is victim of stalker, harassment

Los Angeles model Kourtney Reppert has nearly 200,000 Facebook fans, one of whom is now in federal custody, charged with Internet stalking, according to FBI officials.

Luis Plascencia, 47, of Chicago was arrested Tuesday by Chicago’s Violent Crimes Task Force.

"A random threat on the Internet is something we've all experienced, but this was a specific targeting with death threats to a victim and the family," said FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller.

According to the complaint, Plascencia stalked Reppert by sending numerous threatening and harassing messages via e-mail and Facebook.

See Reppert's website here

Some of the messages indicated that Plascencia possessed detailed personal information about the alleged victim, including her home address and the address of several of her friends and family members.

According to authorities, one of the messages read: "I hope you die in an automobile accident and crush your ugly face through the windshield and a large piece of glass cuts your throat."

According to the FBI, those messages were traced back to Plascencia’s personal email account. The accused used at least 10 different e-mail accounts, according to investigators.

Placscencia is being held without bond. His next court appearance is Friday.

And this is national news why?

Why isn't the FBI concentrating on little things like, oh I don't know. Maybe scumbags in Chicago killing 7 year old girls outside of their home at night?

So you're upset that the FBI actually stopped someone from being murdered?

What a swell guy!

I am almost positive if someone stated they wished I would die in an accident, the FBI would not even consider this a case, let alone the city, county or state police. It would seem more appropriate they (FBI) would be a little more involved "stopping" gangs from shooting innocent bystanders.

Internet, meaning this happens across states. You can't expect local law enforcement to go after this one.

It doesn't take much times to have the tech to trace IP of email and make an arrest. This case would take far less time than any other cases.

The FBI isn't involved in the Chicago case because that is a state issue. Unless the perps cross state lines, the FBI has no jurisdiction.

Clicker,

If every death threat resulted in murder, there would be no population problem.

I have to agree with the crazy idiot about the chick's face. It looks like some really bad CGI. I hope there's a reset button for everything she did to herself, and if there is, please pass that on to Mickey Rourke. (Shivers)

so tired of dimwits like xdm9mm that sound like broken records...every time a crime is committed and police resources are used, some dork chimes in with the same ole "shouldnt they focus on something more important?" New flash numnuts!...its safe to say that every single federal agent is NOT focused on one case!!!!! Just because a crime is committed, that feels more tragic, it doesnt mean that every cop in the nation has to come running or theyre not doing their job! We actually have more than one agent in this country...stop trying to sound like you know the first thing about law enforcement and let the big people take care of that! Maybe when someone you love is receiving death threats, you can meet the police at the door and tell them to go worry about something more important...feel the same about it now buddy?...yah....shhhhhhh

Because... the FBI got involved? I wonder how many other semi-famous people who get threatening mail end up getting help from the FBI.

So you'd be happier if the FBI ignored these threats and this chick ended up dead? Is that the argument you really wanna be making?

    Yes, that's the arguement I'm making. /Sarcasm

If you're famous (even a little), you're bound to get hate mail and threats. I'm wondering how many actually get help from the FBI, and, like others, why this made national news.

      #3.3 - Thu Jun 28, 2012 2:43 PM EDT

The difference with this case is that the crazy person had her address and other personal information. That could make it worse for the stalker because they probably hacked something to get it, making it cyber crime which is handled by the FBI. If someone had all of your personal information and your family's personal information wouldn't you seek help asap? I know I would.

It's news because stalking is a vile crime.

I have been the victim of Gang Stalking by a well known celebrity and there is little I can do about it. The person who has had me Gang Stalked for years is hollywood celebrity Cher. Cher is a sick cold woman; contrary to her public image. And she has the money and celebrity to do as she pleases without regard to the laws of society.

Absolutely. Why are people surprised when something like this happens? Put your picture and information on a public site, you should almost expect it. I left Facebook because an acquaintance could tell I was online through their little Chat option, and he would start emailing and calling me. I'm just surprised that out of 200,000 "fans" there hasn't been more than one bad situation. If you're gonna be this into getting public recognition, things like this are likely to happen.

          Glad they got him, though.

After somebody is charged with stalking, if they persist it should be entirely legal to shoot them dead. Just how many warnings do you have to give them? But then, I feel the same way about papparratsi. Just because a person is famous, or gives out too much personal information does NOT give a creep the right to harrass or hound them. Restraining orders are not worth the paper they are written on, unless they can be used as a defence for doing what the law should have done in the first place.

To those who question why the FBI became involved, as already stated, this has become a nat'l case not just a local, state case. If the perp was also in CA and the internet postings never left that state (fat chance of that happening) then maybe it would remain strictly a CA case. No, I'm not a policeman just someone with some common sense and have lived long enough to know.

Who is this chick btw? It's good to know that the FBI monitors this activity but unless he showed up at her home with a weapon I'm not convinced that this should be on the news. This "article" wasn't even remotely interesting.

It says death threats have been made, but then says he hopes she dies in a car accident in which her face goes through the windshield and a piece of glass cuts her throat...Now that is gruesome, but it is NOT a death threat, it is just wishing ill on someone.

                    Hope she find her peace.

Since when is that a threat? Surely there is something substantial something more like..
