Rodney King is seen on April 30 speaking with fans in Los Angeles before an event promoting his autobiographical book "The Riot Within...My Journey from Rebellion to Redemption."
Rodney King was remembered during a Saturday service at Forest Lawn in the Hollywood Hills as a "symbol of forgiveness" who bore the scars of his infamous beating with dignity.
The Rev. Al Sharpton, who delivered the eulogy, said at a news conference before the funeral that King never showed bitterness to the officers who beat him.
"People should not be judged by the mistakes that they make, but by how they rise above them," Sharpton said. "Rodney had risen above his mistakes, he never mocked anyone, not the police, not the justice system, not anyone."
Sharpton added that King had become a "symbol of forgiveness."
King was found in the bottom of his swimming pool in the backyard of his Rialto home on June 17. His death at age 47 is being treated as an accidental drowning, though autopsy results have still not been released.
Family members held a private service early Saturday, followed by a public memorial and burial.
"I will remember his smile, his unconditional love," said daughter Laura Dene King, 28, to a phalanx of news cameras outside the Hall of Freedom at Forest Lawn-Hollywood Hills. "He was a great father, a great friend; he loved everyone. People will just have to smile when they think of him."
Donors who had contributed to the funeral and other arrangements included TV producer Anthony Zuiker, who donated $10,000.
Rodney Glen King, the man who was at the center of a national debate on civil rights after he was brutally beaten by LAPD in 1991 is dead at the age of 47.
"We lost a symbol, but they lost a loved one," said Zuiker, creator of the CSI: series. "Rodney was a healer."
King became famous after his videotaped Lake View Terrace beating by Los Angeles police in 1991 was broadcast worldwide, as were photos of his bloodied and bruised face.
Those images became a national symbol of police brutality.
"That showed what was evident all over the United States, that police brutality was alive and well," observed Lawrence Tolliver, the owner of well-known barber shop in South LA.
When four officers charged with felony assault on King were acquitted by a jury with no black members, the verdict sparked a riot that lasted for six days and brought U.S. military presence to patrol LA streets.
During the unrest, which left more than 50 people dead and caused more than $1 billion in property damage, King famously pleaded for peace by asking, "Can we all get along?"
King's words were embroidered on the lid of his casket, next to a portrait of him.

It's not hard to forgive when you receive millions of dollars in rewards for resisting arrest and your actions cause millions of dollars in damage and deaths. Who needs to be forgiven?
He didn't cause the riots. wtf is wrong with you? King get's his ass beat by cops and it seems he's the bad guy, but the white truck driver, Denny, pulled out and beaten during the riots seems to be the good guy. It's racisim pure and simple.
Neither King nor Denny deserved the beatings they recieved ... period.
You are confused. He did absolutely nothing to get beat like that. Its a good thing there was someone around with a camera or those low life cops would have completely gotten away with it. Do you remember how white people was terrified black people were going to be coming after them? Its a shame white folks never learn. We like to stereotype every race that walks the face of the earth except our own. Yes. i am white.
Confused- AMEN!!!
King absolutely was beaten for no reason. I saw the tapes. He was laying on the ground. and none of the 4 cops were found guilty. 3 were found not guilty and the forth was dropped i think for lack of evidence.
Ok so rodney lived another 20 years. What about the 53 people that were killed in the riots. rodney got his. he died a millionaire right?
But does that give anyone the right to kill 53 people? Where is their memorial?
He was a thug plain and simple he just didn,t wear his pants below is butt
Thomas, no one had the right to kill 53 people but King didn't start those riots. People tired of the racists L.A.P.D., at that time, did. Some were arrested in the brutal beating of the white truck driver that was shown on every channel in the country. The riots were unexcusable but if people thought those riots were bad wait until people across the country finally get tired of our corrupt government.
I like how you, conventionally, forget about the most innocent victim in this mess of all....Reginald Deny....who did nothing wrong, other than be in the wrong part of town, DOING HIS JOB. And, you forgot about him because he is white...
At least the ring leader, Damian "Football" Williams, is finding out what justice is, since he was sentenced to life behind prison bars for murder and wont be eligible for parole for another 47 years, in 2000. The rest of them didn't fair so well either.
If you want to know what 'racism' is, google Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom...THAT CASE is a perfect example of what racism is in this country...
First off king was pulled over for a DUI the resisted because he was drunk and high on PCP and yes it is on the public record. did he get his ass beat yes, but to make this criminal who after getting millions still was pulled over 5 times since his beating for guess what DUI and other criminal involement and for people to hold him up as an icon, is crazy. he was a criminal before and after and he died drunk and stoned big surprise and sharpton praising him like he was rosa parks is the most stupidist thing I ever heard....
Rodney King did not start the riots. He didn't cause the riots. He spoke out against the rioting.
Hoodlums don't require much of an excuse to riot. They'll just use the acquittals as their excuse, but in reality, they were geared up for a good ole riot the whole time. Just looking for an opportunity. And it isn't just blacks who do this. Whites do it too - usually when they're drunk and their favorite sports team loses (or in some cases, wins) a major sporting event.
Of the group Angela noted, only Henry Watson made out well - he owns a limo service in Los Angeles. Williams is in prison. Miller was killed at a nightclub, and the other Williams is living life as a drug addicted hobo. Watson is the only one of the group to personally apologize to Denny.
Rodney King is a symbol of a life pissed away.
King was a career criminal (and remained so after his notoriety) who deserved his beating. Denny was a working stiff who didn't deserve his beating at the hands of racists. King deserved it because he's always been a habitual criminal; Denny didn't deserve it because those racists who beat him were, well, racists. Period.
He was a forgiving man, too bad racists didn't forgive him for being beaten. I guess he refused to stay in his place -- the place "conservatives" had for him.
http://www.sonofthesouth.net/slavery/african-american-art/uncle-tom-cabin.jpg
Jerry, you are a typical racist. Rodney King came out of the hospital to denounce the riots. He truly had nothing to do with it. But he had the most reason to join in -- he didn't.
I bet if he wasn't black, you wouldn't be speaking ill of the dead. But then, you are a disgusting racist.
Jerry, when you get beaten by a group of police officers, I hope you remember that you "deserved [your] beating."
There has always been ways to subdue a resisting person without breaking out the baton. Beating a person into submission is not at the top of the list.
Sounds like people are still making excuses for those cops. I wonder if the retired deputy who lost his son to the hands of police if he supported the beating of Rodney King in 1991. You tube homeless man beaten by police. It happened in Fullerton, Ca.
Al Sharpton sure looks thin in this old picture and his congregation around him do not look very forgiving. They used Rodney as one of their first real pawns for their own agenda.........
All I know about King is that he was a criminal and I can't forget how he threatened an asian store owner with a crowbar. I can forgive a man for stealing but not for harming or threatening to harm someone, regardless of his, the criminal's, race. The police officers who beat him were criminals too. That doesn't make King a hero. As I said, i can't forgive those who harm or threaten to harm others. It's these violent offenders that are bringing our society down.
Exactly...good riddance...just another POS criminal. He was DWI at twice the legal limit in California .19 blood alcohol level at speeds up to 80mph thru residential streets and would not pull over.
When stopped the other two passengers complied and were arrested with no incident. Rodney King refused to comply with the officers and he was taken down and made to comply.
He deserved every hit he received and then some. He could have killed an innocent bystander but he didn't care about that. All he wanted to do was get away because he was on parole for a robbery conviction.
Shame on the racists crawling out from under their rocks on the day of this man's funeral to speak ill of the dead!
The Rodney King I saw on Celebrity Rehab was a quiet man who was thrust into the spotlight, who felt a great deal of responsibility for his race, but who felt that he was failing them because he could not get himself together. The Rodney King I saw deeply regretted his mistakes and wanted nothing more than to make a positive difference in the world. The Rodney King I saw was a good man, but also a flawed human being, who was struggling just as all of us do. His personal struggle happened to be alcoholism. But, I believe he was a MUCH better human being than Confussed (who is truly confused) and his ilk could ever dream of being! We lost a good man and I mourn his loss. May he finally R.I.P.
I'll be a "symbol of forgiveness".. I forgive you...after I got that $4-5 million civil suit award!
Besides that, one thing I can't stand is a hypocrit. The article states that Al Sharpton said "People should not be judged by the mistakes that they make, but by how they rise above them." Let me ask you a question Al Sharpton, does that go for the KKK too?
What an awful and confused statement.
Rodney King's Constitutional and Civil Rights were severely violated. Deservedly, he received a multi-million dollar award. When Mr. King mercilessly was being beaten on the ground, he was unable to control any of his physical responses. This, he was completely incapable of resisting an arrest. His driving on the highway did not merit his brutal emotional mutilation and degradation. A federally convened jury agreed. Too bad, his civil suit award was not even higher.
Good riddance to Rodney King. Now get rid of Sharpton, and the Jesse Jackson. All useless turds. Flush them.
I remember him as the guy who made it fashionable, and profitable to run from the cops. I'm on drugs, I ran from the cops, I endangered lives of countless people during a high speed chase, and I gots me a big old pile of money! I also gots me a get out of jail free card, and you can too!
I honestly cannot for the life of me understand how anyone can say that ANYBODY deserves to get beat like that?? Denny nor King should have gotten beaten like that regardless of what they were doing with their lives. If you are snatched out of your home and beaten do you deserve it?? If a wife is beaten by her husband does she deserve it?? People weren't looking for a reason to riot but a couple fell in their laps. Google Latasha Harlins, the people were pissed because at every twist and turn some BS was hitting them in the face. Do I agree with how they went about it HELL NO. I was 16 watching everything burn down around me. While my doctor mother had to report to work EVERYDAY. She made it and we made it. But to say that someone deserves to get beaten and that people are looking for a reason to be destructive is some BS. If this is how people feel and truly are humanity is at a loss, and I need to find a new planet to live on...............
If being a career criminal was a prerequisite for getting your @ss beat nearly to death by a bunch of corrupt rogue cops half the white folk here running off at the mouth would probably be in wheelchairs or dead. White folk are known for getting drunk, taking police on high speed chases, and acting like morons but how often do you see cops kicking and beating the hell out of one of their sons? Regardless of what you think of Rodney King's life he is protected under the same laws as you and yours. And yes he did deserve every damned penny he got for what happened to him. If you want to beat up on someone beat up on your own damned spoiled bad ass kids.
Here is this wonderful man's police record. Those of you who praise him deserve much worse! The cops should have kept on beating this azzhole until he was dead!
King's
Trouble with the Law Prior to His Beating
July
27, 1987: According
to a complaint filed by his wife, King beat her while she was sleeping, then
dragged her outside the house and beat her again. King was charged with
battery and pleaded "no contest." He was placed on probation and
ordered to obtain counseling. He never got the counseling.
November 3, 1989: King, brandishing a tire iron, ordered
a convenience store clerk to empty the cash register. The clerk grabbed the
tire iron, causing King to fall backwards and knock over a pie rack. King
swung the rack at the clerk and fled the store with $200. King was arrested
and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, second-degree robbery, and intent
to commit great bodily injury. In a plea agreement, King pleaded guilty to
the robbery charge and the other charges were dropped. He was sentenced to
two years in prison, but was paroled on December 27, 1990.
The Arrest of Rodney King on March 3, 1991
March
3, 1991:
After being seen speeding on the 210 freeway by CHP officers, King led them
on a chase at speeds estimated at up to 110 to 115 mph. When finally stopped,
King refused requests to get into the prone position and appeared to charge
one of the officers. He was beaten and arrested. King was charged with felony
evading. Charges were later dropped.
King's 3/3/91 Arrest Record
King's Trouble with the Law After March 3,
1991
May
11, 1991:
King was pulled over for having an excessively tinted windshield. Although
King was driving without a license and his car registration had expired, King
was not charged.
May 28, 1991: King picked up a transvestite prostitute
in Hollywood who happened to be under surveillance by LAPD officers. King and
the prostitute were observed in an alley engaging in sexual activity. When
the prostitute spotted the officers, King sped away, nearly hitting one of
them. King later explained that he thought the vice officers were robbers
trying to kill him. No charges were filed.
June 26, 1992: King's second wife reported to police
that King had hit her and she feared for her life. King was handcuffed and
taken to a police station, but his wife then decided against pressing
charges.
July 16, 1992: King was arrested at 1:40 A.M. for
driving while intoxicated. No charges were filed.
August 21, 1993: King crashed into a wall near a
downtown Los Angeles nightclub. He had a blood alcohol level of 0.19. King
was charged with violating his parole and sent for sixty day to an alcohol
treatment center. He was also convicted on the DUI charge and ordered to
perform twenty days of community service.
May 21, 1995: King was arrested for DUI while on a
trip to Pennsylvania. King failed field sobriety tests, but refused to submit
to a blood test. He was tried and acquitted.
July 14, 1995: King got into an argument with his wife
while he was driving, pulled off the freeway and ordered her out of the car.
When she started to get out, King sped off, leaving her on the highway with a
bruised arm. King was charged with assault with a deadly weapon (his car),
reckless driving, spousal abuse, and hit-and-run. King was tried on all four
charges, but found guilty only of hit-and-run driving.
March 3, 1999: King allegedly injured the
sixteen-year-old girl that he had fathered out of wedlock when he was
seventeen, as well as the girl's mother. King was arrested for injuring the
woman, the girl, and for vandalizing property. King claimed that the incident
was simply "a family misunderstanding."
September 29, 2001: King was arrested for indecent exposure
and use of the hallucinogenic drug PCP.
From what I recall, Rodney King blew through the $4.5 mil in a few years and then moved to Rialto to savor his crack addiction. Not exactly a hero, but it isn't easy to hang on to something that has no real value. On verdict day I was driving on the 405 and a man threw a piece of asphalt over the guard fence and it came down threw my radiator ...could have been my windshield and me # 46
Just because the kkk and the neo-nazis (no capital letters necessary) are flooding this board right now does NOT mean they are in the majority. They just don't have anything better to do with their lives than to spit on a man who many more are mourning than will ever mourn their own deaths. As a white person, these are the type of people that I avoid like the plague because they are, quite simply, sick in the head and have nothing meaningful to contribute. All they have is their hatred, which probably makes for a very cold bed indeed.
symbol of lawlessness and poor choices with one catch phrase.
When are white people going to realize that, just because you happen to be born with a lighter skin tone, doesn't automatically mean that you are better than anyone else? In fact, judging from some of the comments on here, I would say that some of the scum of the earth are white. If you're on a computer calling black people "porch monkeys" (btw, wtf happened to the moderators?), I would say that you qualify as scum. White people are drug addicts (e.g. Charlie Sheen), white people are alcoholics (e.g. Mel Gibson). White people are also far more likely to be serial killers (e.g. Jeffrey Dahmer) and child molesters (e.g. Joe Sandusky) than any other race. So, get off your high horses and take a long, hard look in the mirror. I hate to to break it to you, but you're not any better than anyone else. No one wants to be around angry, hateful racists like you. Least of all, me. I'd rather hang around with Black people and Latinos than people like you. And, I am a white person.
Moon, so, so, true, and they wonder why our country is turning to crap. And I'm not black.
@moonwolf99
I used to think people are people then I joined the Navy and WAS EXPOSED to the reality of just how racist and bigoted most black people are to each other and everyone around them.
They really thought in context of skin color a fact I had never even thought possible from black people towards other black people.
Until that point I had never heard of terms like porch monkey and the vast majority of slurs based simply on skin color.
Go to Puerto Rico and learn what the term marrying up means.
Racism is alive and well in America but for some hope go to Grand Cayman to see how it should be.
As far as Rodney King goes if I was high and driving drunk at speeds way exceeding speed limits trying to avoid arrest I would expect a good beat down when caught.
He endangered 1,000's of people with what amounts to a firearm being discharged over and over straight up in the form of a 2,000lb car.
He may have morphed into a better person at peace with himself but he was a real piece of crap most of his life.
He won the lottery and blew it on hookers, crack, malt liqueur and gambling.
Good riddance.
I for one, am sick and tired of all the ass kissing and apologizing to the black Americans for slavery which ended over a hundred years ago.
If it wasn't for the black brothers in Africa who captured and sold the slaves to the people of this country I doubt any of their descendants would be free today. So get over it.
And America stop trying to be so politically correct, you make me sick!
Rodney King was a bum certainly not a hero or anyone a young black American should emulate.!
I'm just going to second the original comment. He was a criminal, not the victem. Nothing would have happened if he wasn't doing wrong. Plain and simple. Symbol of forgiveness, my butt. Should be celebrate famous criminals.
funny how the whole story of the slave trade has been gloossed over. Because blacks were part of the system did not make it right. there is enough blame to go around for sure.
Johnsixty, a piece of @!$%# is a piece of @!$%#, no matter the color of their skin.
Confused, Vern, you are both idiots and, more than likely, racists. King SPOKE OUT AGAINST the riots, he DENOUNCED them. Yes, he wrote a book, and he made some money. You condemn him for speaking out? Those officers had NO RIGHT to do what they did, and they deserved far worse than they ever received. Apparently you ignore the video that plainly shows everything. Rodney King was a voice of reason in a turbulent time who tried to STOP what happened after a B.S. verdict.
Rest in Peace Mr. King.
I saw the entire video of king getting beaten on TV one time (just once)... the rest of the time they showed only portions of the tape. You get a totally different perspective of the situation when you watch the whole tape. King was a thug. He was pulled over with two other black men who strangely were NOT beaten. You can hear them on the tape saying, "Stay down, stay down!!!" King was fighting the police. He was throwing punches and grabbing at them. The police repeatedly told him to get down, but he did not. Then the police began to hit him accompanied with commands to get down on the ground. He still refused to submit. Then Rodney got his beat down. I would have expected the police to do the same with anyone... to that point. There is no doubt the cops were pissed. Not because he was black, but because he, "just couldn't get along". The cops made their mistake by continuing to beat Mr. King even after he was made to comply. At that point the police became wrong.
All this said... The only thing of which Rodney King is a symbol.... is a career criminal and a drain on society. Good riddance to that POS.
I love how the only bit of racism white people ever remember from our collective history is slavery against blacks... like yall don't have crap to answer for since... like Jim Crow, black codes, redlining, restricting nearly all social welfare programs to just white people (though blacks and other minorities still were getting taxed to make sure your white great grandmother could be a welfare queen) until 1965 (and then, suddenly, whites found their inner libertarians (hell, even Ayn Rand was a welfare queen till her death... funny how Ron Paul never mentions that), anti mixed-marriage laws, forced sterilizations, a de facto system institutionalized caste and segregation throughout the country, perpetual debt slavery to Bretton Woods organizations (like the IMF and the WTO), and 10 years of "Hee Haw"
Its also funny how most of the inbred whites crying reverse racism (which is a fallacious concept considering "racism" can only be practiced from a position of institutional strength, like when one has a populational/electoral majority or have political means to suppress the given oppressed peoples) complaining about how blacks sold other blacks into slavery seem to miss the cultural aspects of slavery in African culture (and the same systems of slavery that had existed in Europe all through this time period as well... WTF do you think feudalism was all about in the first place, yo?), as well as the fact that NO ONE FORCED EUROPEANS TO BUY THE SLAVES IN THE FIRST PLACE. WHITE PEOPLE WOULD BLAME THE AVAILIBILITY OF PROSTITUTES FOR PROSTITUTION, TOO, I SUPPOSE, OR THE FACT THAT SOMEONE IS SELLING CHILD PORNOGRAPHY FOR ALL PEDOPHILIA WHITE MEN COMMIT.
(I guess all those spooky Africans just forced their wares on poor, unsuspecting white missionaries who had no choice but to keep buying black slaves, and then had no choice but to convert that forced consumerism into nation-building industry (the Triangle trade, the Southern textile industry, the Slave economy, etc.), and then were under outrageous duress with Reconstruction to force newly-freed African-Americans into chain gangs and various other social controls that mimicked the affects of slavery without having to treat blacks as well as property... life has been so hard for the white man, him being such a slave to forced-labor consumerism like he has been.)
And, BTW, that was just some of the crap whites had done to blacks. We're not even talking about the Native Americans, the Latinos, the Asian Americans, Eastern Europeans, Jews (whites just loved messing with Jews throughout their shared history), and really anybody who had the balls not to born a WASP straight male for nearly all of our collective history. But, yes, tell us again how whites were always so innocent and above reproach.
Whites, if you can't take response-ability (in the classic sense of the word "responsibility") for the legacy of racism in this country, no can be sympathetic to the experiences of others who live here besides you, the least you can do is STFU, move TF out the way, and let us fix the mess you guys left and aren't claiming. Somebody has to fix this, and we can wait for you ignorant mouth-breathers to grow up and join the adult discussion.
""racism" can only be practiced from a position of institutional strength"
Gonna have to call B.S. on that one; that is just a rationalization excusing bad behavior. Racism is racism, period! You call for people who may or may not have culpability to be responsible; what of your own reponsibility. I feel that your whole argument is a cop-out. The "legacy" of racism starts right now: with you; what are you going to do with it?
Everyone forgets the officers were accuited that is why the riots happened, they were convicted on civil rights violations. Rodney king was a criminal that brought on the riots and his own troubles. he ran from the law and could have killed people by the way he was driving. One person on here said how quite he was on celeberty rehab do you hear yourself REHAB... He was a arrested afterwards for DUI and drug use and the only difference was he could pay for a better lawyer. He may have cleaned his act up in the end but he was the blame for it all, remember that if he didnt run in the first place and put everyone at risk nothing would have transpired afterwards. He was not a saint but a criminal.
How long did it take him to recover from the senseless beating he received? I'd say that he deserved every cent. If he was a white guy, all of the cops would have been in jail with no hope of ever seeing the sun again.
There are plenty of videos out there of cops brutalizing white people. Take those rose colored glasses off and you just may find some.
Have any of those "white people" been as vilified as Rodney King? Time to get fitted for new glasses...
Everyone forgets that the video was not turned on when he came out swinging. Plenty of wittnesses that were not cops testified to that but the riots had already began. King continued to go on this drinking rampages for years and he would not be arrested. Should have drowned himself a long time ago.
The riots started after the cops, all white, had been acquitted.
El Dumbo. if you were getting beat like that you aren't going to be submissive. You are going to try and defend yourself. Quit trying to hide behind that name, we know you are white.
@ Sacred: for $3.8 million I'll volunteer to get beaten and vilified myself. Where do I sign up?
No, of course not... because no one ever heard about it. It only counts if the victim is black. No one cares if white people are attacked by the cops or anyone else because they deserve it. They are responsible for all the troubles of all the black communities, and anyone objecting is racist.
No they wouldn't have and we wouldn't have been represented for free either or made into fake folk heroes. I had my head cracked open in front of my mother and grandmother. Al Sharpton was nowhere to be found. I simply yelled and threw a few things around my yard and the cops were called. In fact they didn't press charges and I didn't persue it. I had no record, I wasn't out endangering the public, I didn't cause a riot with my actions. One cop held me while the other 6'6' 300 pounder craked my head open knocking me nearly unconscious. As I fell, I tasted blood, and felt another blow to the head. Then the officer held me down used the club on my back and kidneys a few more times to wake me back up. Unconscious persons can still feel and awaken during a beating I learned.
We used to get pulled over all the time. Once while being talked to about speeding another cop came up and slammed my face into the patrol car. He wasn't even involved in the stop. He was a bit surprised when I broke loose and mentioned if he better never touch mer again and he was so stunned he just stood there like a deer in the headlights. The other officer did nothing.
I had friends slammed up against my car via a choke hold just because they got out of the car. None of us were black. And it happened all the time to us teenagers.
We had our cars searched for no reason. Even our parents cars. And we live near liberal Seattle. We didn't cry like girls. We just knew they were punks. Every force has them.
We didn't live in the hood either. We were middle class kids hanging at arcades or going to the park to fling the frisbee around. And hears a news flash we didn't go home and grab a gun to shoot a guy because he beat our backside in a fair fight.
In fact a black kid in our school like to call us white boys and give us crap all the time. All though he didn't like it both ways. A friend of my was goofing around and pretended like he was going to kick the guy in the groin. The guy outweighed him by 60 pounds caught his foot and tried to make him fall. He couldn't and when my buddy walked away he jumped on his back. Then after it was over he sucker punched me. I didn't expect it, someone said look out , and I stepped into his punch. I had two PE coaches stop me from persuing him. They saw how ticked I was that he didn't confront me like a man and they knew at 135lbs I was going to teach that "boy" a lesson plain and simple like.
King was a coward and a criminal plain and simple!!! He swung first and got his butt kicked like the worthless dog he was. Had nothing to do with skin color.
It took awhile...should have listened at the beginning and not resisted but he got compensated.
10tacle there are not plenty of videos out there with white people being beaten. The problem with us white folk is that we do not want to admit we are racists. I'm not saying all are but it does exist and it does not need to exist within law enforcement. It is well known across the country that mexicans and blacks are racially profiled when it comes to traffic stops. Here in NC we now have an investigation into that as blacks are more likely to be handcuffed, removed from their cars and searched than whites. You don't need an investigation to see it. You can drive down the road and see it. The problem is the blacks did nothing different than the whites to get stopped but for some reason they were humiliated when the white person was simply given a ticket or let go. The state of NC has now admitted it happens, lets see what the do about it and if any other states do the same.
b4the people you are just plain delusional.
Geez, my white brother was murdered by a police officer, and you think bad cops only target blacks?
SacredFire
If he had been a white guy there would never have been any riots and the police officers would still have their jobs. There wouldn't have been anyone screaming racism and there never would have been millions paid out. Face it the people turned this into a racist thing just as they are trying to do with Martin. The only one that has profited from all this unrest is the gun makers. More guns sold than ever before, more concealed gun permits than every before and this trend will never change until we all learn race isn't the problem, attitude is!
Chitown, I guess we should tell Native Americans to shoot you on sight. You sound like one of the many genocidal maniacs that still breathe for whatever reason. My question is why do you need a gun really? You likely don't have a nice enough car for continued car-jacking. Here's why you have a gun and dislike black men:
You're likely fat, small penis, out of shape, old, not too attractive. You need a pistol because the gun itself adds inches. The bullets are fast, you're not. And the gun is attractive metal, while you're just fat meat.
So you believe then that the beating was justified? And the four cops who were acquitted does NOT smack of racism? I noticed that you brought up Martin. What is the connection, besides they were both black. Why is it that so many people yell and scream about Rodney King and Trayvon Martin? If the roles were reversed, would anyone care? I wish these cases were color blind but they're not. And we still have a ways to go as a nation, Christian or otherwise.
So, what you're saying is that if blacks do things to whites nothing happens?
I guess you'd then say that had whites been enslaved by blacks, no civil war would have happened?
I guess then that Jim crow, which only ended in full 20 years before Rodney King beating, had been perpetrated against whites -- that no civil rights act would have happened?
You're saying that white men who had sex with black women voluntarily and usually involuntarily got lynched very often?
You're saying that black police officers continue to routinely ruin white men's lives with needless traffic and pedestrian stops?
Racism and American genocide continue and the face of these crimes against humanity looks exactly like yours. Not necessarily you, but definitely people who look exactly like you.
So long Rodney, rest in peace. You were a source of controversy that i will not miss and a silent entity to the truth behind the beatings. That truth goes to the grave along with you and the lies you said about your victims after the riots along with the transvestite that the police tried to frame you with while getting head. Too bad you never apologized to the liquor story owner you threw pies at while robbing him, as you once said. And too bad the truth never came out among your circle of friends about the money as told by your deceased barber who was your supplier. see you later
RK was a thug only his pants were showing his butt
Do further remember, if I am not mistaken, King also had a few charges of violence against women - did not read all the posts but did not see it printed here. I don't think he should be seen as a symbol of forgiveness.
Based on this comment, the "first" flush could be you.
Somebody takes me on a 107 mile an hour chase on the freeway, when I catch up to him, he gives me just one speck of crap he's going down and he's going down hard.
Rodney King, an overgrown child, was a menace to everyone. It is only surprising that it took so long for him to fatally injure himself.
@25Walker
C'mon bro...your reply is lame..Check this out. Go read the post regarding Rodney's rap sheet [and I ain't talkin' 'bout that lame excuse for music called "rap"]. After reading that POS's rap sheet, if he is still your Hero, then you need to be flushed with the other aforementioned turds. And you can take my message to da hood.
That's great, the dirt bag that started the big riot and the millions of dollars of harm. What a pile of manure.
The one that caused the Riots was not King but the police and the courts, get your facts right, they broke the law by beating King and the courts did not hand down justice as they should have, so blame them. it does not matter if he was resisting arrest (running) they still did not have the right to beat him the way they did.
To me, he was a symbol of women beating, and law breaking. With all that money he received, he just could change who he was, and it wasn't good, and I doubt any of the women he abused were at his funeral.
I liked this guy.
what a great guy
Agreed, he was a pretty good guy despite his problems earlier in life.
I wonder if those cops are still serving on the force.
Lol, denny. Your gift of sarcasm is not lost on me.
WHAT?
Vern-1642229
Lol, denny. Your gift of sarcasm is not lost on me.
..............Yeah, but is was sure lost on RTypo!
I wonder if the woman standing behind Sharpton w/ the sunglasses on is hiding something she received from another one of those " great guys"??
RIP: POS
We have become a nation of celebrating lawbreakers, dope heads, sorry no account Hollywood crowd, and the list goes on an on. The sorrier you are the more you are praised and worshipped.
@ sacredfire, Yeah justice was finally served...but still people go on and on and on. From wiki BTW.
In the aftermath of the acquittal of the four Los Angeles police officers by the Los Angeles County Superior Court, the United States federal government, through the United States District Court for the Central District of California, stepped in and held a federal trial for civil rights violations, ending with two of the police officers who took part in the incident being found guilty and subsequently sent to prison, and with the other two police officers acquitted
One of the worst racists of all, good ol Al Sharpton showed up. Just like another criminal named King he's trying to make a hero out of this one. @TC-1944027 i don't care if you're purple. Be scared of them if you want to. Where i live my friends and myself have plenty of things to take care of such problems so we don't walk around scared and never will. To bad he's gone but he was no damn hero.
Memoralized. You got to be kidding. Is this what happens when you resist arrest. Even though cops were wrong for excessive beating it shouldn't have gotten that far if he would of just followed the procedure of the law. All that rioting and looting are we memoralizing that too.
What part of "To serve and protect." do you not get?
to serve and protect a lawbreaker?
When you assault someone you place them in a mode to protect their own life. And it doesn't just stop because you want it to. Personally I have a family to feed and protect. Swing at me and I will work until I am sure you are completely immobilized and cannot threaten me or my family. If that means beating someone to death or shooting them, then so be it.
This same type of response is why some folks can't talk about the Klan, Gay Marriage, and other controversial ideas. Mention the Klan and how they have a right to assemble and some folks just can't handle it. They too are citizens and have a right to all the same priviledges of other citizens like it or not. Obviously harming others is quite another thing.
Gays don't just want equal rights they want to be considered the same. Label or not they will never be the same. Some don't get that and fight like caged animals. Other see only red when the idea is proposed.
Criminals have rights too, that is what seperates us from China...
Yea but the way our country is going, we will be just like China. No Rights, ask the left.
Unlike a true protest for moral or political reason that riot was nothing more than black folks out to rob for the fun of it, look at the video it had nothing to due with rodney king, it was a prime opportune moment
that they took advantage of, don't confuse this with the civils rights protests, all those people should have been shot in front of a firing squad.
Agreed. What did Rodney King do to serve this country? He was being chased and resisted arrest and now he is a hero? Not to mention the multiple arrests AFTER he resisted in later years. This country is clearly on its last leg when we call him a "hero".
Dunno, I guess he highlighted the differences between races??????????????????????????????
Let us all not forget, this man Rodney King was driving around high on PCP, angel dust, and who knows what else. Thats just like putting a blind fold on and firing a gun while spinning around in a circle. THe man got he what he deserved to a certain extent. I was just a kid when this happened and I pretty much just remember the picture of that TRUCK DRIVER WHO GOT DRAGGED OUT OF HIS TRUCK AND SLAUGHTERED IN THE STREET. I bet all you RK supporters dont remember that. Rodney King caused all that. He initially started that whole downward spiral. He got in the car wasted, He kept trying to get up when told to stay down.
You are right Ricko! The black community are the real racists...they couldn't wait for the justice system to work....2 of the 4 cops went to jail for years for the King beating, but no.... they had to murder 50 innocents, cause millions of $$ in damage and ruin countless lives because one of "theirs" got beat up.
It was just an excuse to loot and kill.....Rodney King did nothing except get caught breaking the law (again)....this is a martyr? A hero? Hardly.
I expect a clown like Sharpton to hold up this guy as a symbol for the black community, but Jason Kandel, Melissa Pamer and Ted Chen- the people who wrote this article, should be ashamed...what a piece of trash.
At least they tore up their own neighborhood and didn't bother the rich white folks. If I ever riot, I'm going to the getto and riot. I'm not tearing up my own neighborhood. Good ridance to Rodney King. He was a criminal and not a hero. If he was white and got beat up no one would care or it would be an episode of Cops.
Forgiveness from Rodney! How about the people who lost businesses, homes, and lives! The truckdriver who was beaten senseless with a brick, is probably still suffering from that horrible beating! Then Rodney had the nerve to sue and get how many million for being an out of control drug addict? I didn't hear of him donating any back to the community he helped destroy. And Al "Where's the Camera Sharpton" Should have been discredited long ago, after the lies in the Rowanda Brawley case in New York! Our country has absolutely gone nuts!
You can tell by looking at the picture all of them are pissed off and have a bad attitude. Typical look though.@Mike-1864640 and B4thepeople two excellent posts. You are right. I never use the term Liberal but i will here. You mention the Klan or being against tinker bells getting married and they go all to hell. Even turn violent over it. Peace lovers they are.
Rodney King asked the BIG question...Why can't we all just get along??? The answer is something we ALL share. The Seven (7) DEADly Sins!!! Take your pick!
This is one big joke. But, consider the source and let's go on. Enough of this nonsense, already.
This comment was "collapsed by the (kkk) community". Wow, just wow. Guess they don't want to think of Rodney King as a human being. That would make him just like everyone else.
May he finally R.I.P.
who did he gorgive. he led a life of crime. he made police chase him. he collected millions from public funds. his actions caused death and destruction in the city. he did not change a bit even after collecting millions.
let me ask the person who wrote the title above: so who did he fogive and how did he forgive?
as long as you are not white you can get away with any crime, any comment and any despicable action in america.
AMEN!!!
zulfitarin, Vern - where in the world do you live? Evidently not anywhere that truth or justice is valued. May God forgive you.
zulfitarin his actions did nothing to cause those riots. The riots were the actions of the people who actually started them as a result of cops being found not guilty and set free for nearly beating a man to death. Four cops could have subdued him with that type of beating. I'm not saying they didn't have the right to use their weapons to let him know he needed to stop but the beating was senseless.
chitownporchcritter you are the prime example of the problem with white people. You lump all blacks into the same category and you don't have a clue if what you're saying about them is true. The problem is white people get away with things like this much more than a black person. i don't think it was ever said that King doid not work so there again you stereotype because he is black.
Really! It is not like he was a model citizen! There are so many anonymous people who die every day, and not at their own hands, who deserve to be talked about! This person does not raise to that level!!!
He had a hard road in life. I hope he is at rest finally. For a man who didn't seek out the public life, like so many others who find fame thrust upon them, he surely ended up never far from the spotlight afterwards. There are so many lessons a person can learn from this one man's life. Ultimately though, personal accountability has to be one of the most important ones. On so many levels and for those whose lives interconnected with his. Our nation and the lives of untold numbers were brought together in a dramatic way no one could have ever dreamed of in one brutal event. I image none of us thinks the decisions we make could ever have such an impact upon our country such as this man's choice that one fateful day resulted in. Such are the times we live in now. We must be wiser people.
He's worm food.
And so will you Vern. Hope you have someone to memorialize your life.
He didn't really choose to fit in either...
Innocent people lost their lives, busines owners and other lost everything they worked for for many years, and some were harmed just because they were white (as if they endored the action). Many didn't. Why? Because he chose to run from police and endager others. Then he decided to fight it out and lost. The he was awarded money he didn't deserve and continued to break the law. Keep in mind most cops would let him kick puppies up and down the street all day long after the incident to avoid more riots and media hoohah. And they were likely instructed to stay away from him by superiors. Even after that he was arrested. Of course after he ran out of money he wrote a book about his life and got even more money he never deserved.
chitownporchcritter banned, rereg of jeff0052.
Really NBC? I never had a clue what race Rodney King was.
In all seriousness, King did not deserve the brutality he received. That's indisputable. But by the same token, over 50 people and hundreds of businesses didn't deserve their fate in the aftermath either. All I know is that I wouldn't even blink signing up to get beaten by a gang of cops for $3.8 million and I'd be set for life. Buy a $500k home for cash, take the other $300k for a few luxury cars and goodies for the house, and invest that $3 million in a heavily diversified but conservative portfolio returning about 5%. Instant easy $150k annual income for as long as you live with no mortgage, no car notes, and no credit card bills. Golf, vacation, do whatever you want to do and never work again. I'm not sure what Rodney King did with his money, but I do know one thing: some people are more adept than others at handling money.
His medical bills ate up most of that amount. Regardless, he's dead, so you can stop kicking him now.
A statue should be built for this heroe of our modern times!!!
Ah, we have to go to another news source to peel the onion back on where that money went...
RTyp0
He didn't cause the riots. wtf is wrong with you? King get's his ass beat by cops and it seems he's the bad guy, but the white truck driver, Denny, pulled out and beaten during the riots seems to be the good guy
....An incredibly moronic comparison, but I'm not surprised. I read an article in an editorial section a numbers of years back, written by someone affiliated with a university school of journalism, and not an obvious proponent of either the right or left. The author stated that the news media did not show the entire video of the incident. Had they done so, people would have seen the police try to deal with King in approved ways, but that King attacked them first and knocked down one of the officers and began beating him. At that point, the officers retaliated, and I agree, over reacted. However, the point is that had the entire sequence been shown, it would have given a much different picture of the incident, instead of one that portrayed it as an attack on someone simply because he was black.
Rtypo, Denny did nothing wrong, he did not attack anyone, break the law or lead anyone on a dangerous chase, he was only guility of being in the wrong place at the wrong time to be the target of an animalistic crowd. To equate him with King, a real scum bag, is just mouth breathing stupid.
Sharpton....forgiveness....your egotistical @$$!!! It's amazing how you people can deify scum. What's next, O.J. as the symbol of love and brotherhood? Bonds as the role model of sportmanship?
luichio
A statue should be built for this heroe of our modern times!!!
.....I agree, a very, very heavy one, and it should be placed on top of Al Sharption's head.
RK was just the catalyst of an out of control police system. Many others were more hurt than RK but he was the poster child and despite millions of dollars, still couldn't clean himself up. Just a sign of the troubles his ethnic background have everywhere, pulling themselves up and getting clean. More of a threat to themselves than to others....
White guy Roadhouse: Neither the rioters nor the police can be excused for their behavior but the police swore an oath to serve and protect. Peroid.
It doesn't matter what King allegedly did, 4 police officers standing over him on the ground swinging their battons as hard as they can is just as inexcusable as the rioters, more so in my book because of the officer's "training".

.........You missed the whole point, that the original incident was portayed by the media as a beating simply because King was black, and that is not so, he attacked first, and I said in my original post that the police overreated, so you obviously can't read, or comprehend, very well. Should I retaliate and call you Black Guy RTypo, or would that make me racist? Duh!
Calling me black wouldn't be racist, just wrong. I'm white European. But I knew you were white just by the first sentences in your post. Pretty much the same way that I know any person touting the tea party movement is most likely white.
The entire media didn't make it out to be a racist incident. Conservative news sources tried to paint King as evil and vile. Some liberal sources tried to make it about race, that much is true. The truth is that minorities do get profiled and treated differently within our society. And that's just a fact.
If you tried to evade police, then started a fight with four armed man that you likley aren't going to win I would say that indicates you are unstable and probably insane. I would beat you until I was sure you couldn't move or come after me if I was there. He was a thug. Just like his supporters.
Every time they stop he starts crawling or trying to get up. They beat him more until he stops. He gets up to his knees and who knows what he's thinking (run, play dumb then go for a gun, fight more)so the beat him down again. One cop even grabbed a batton to stop a hit when he remained still. Newflash if a cop or any amped up person with a club and gun tells you to stay still then you don't move plain and simple. Unless you have a real good plan.
Watch cops sometime. They tazer and pepper you until you remain dormant. A person can lunge 20 feet in a second and King getting up could have been to charge an officer to take a gun. I'm sure if he did and shot a cop, especially the one that grabbed the batton on one occassion, you'd say the cop deserve it rtypo.
I hope they build a statue so I can get a vendors license to sell or rent fake police uniforms and rubber batons across the street from it. I bet I could retire in a week.

.........Guess what, I hate the Tea Party, I think they're a bunch of elitist thugs trying to impose a two tier, feudal system on this country, and I voted for Obama, and probably will again because I think the GOP/TP is way too dangerous, and Romney way too stupid, to be trusted. However, R. King has nothing to do with politics, and everything to do with stupidity and PC butt kissing in this country, and people like Sharpton are just opportunists who do use race to line their pockets, name one REAL job Jesse Jackson ever worked.
King continued to get into trouble after the 1991 incident. On August 21, 1993, he crashed his car into a block wall in downtown Los Angeles.[34] He was convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol, fined, entered an alcohol rehabilitation program and was placed on probation. In July 1995, he was arrested by Alhambra police, after hitting his wife with his car, knocking her to the ground. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail after being convicted of hit and run.[35] King invested a portion of his settlement in a record label, Straight Alta-Pazz Records, which went under.[36] On August 27, 2003, King was arrested again for speeding and running a red light while under the influence of alcohol. He failed to yield to police officers and slammed his vehicle into a house, breaking his pelvis.[37] On November 29, 2007, while riding home on his bicycle, King was shot in the face, arms, and back with pellets from a shotgun. He reported that it was done by a man and a woman who demanded his bicycle and shot him when he rode away.[35] Police described the wounds as looking like they came from birdshot, but said King offered few details about the suspects.

Fogetaboudit! Rodney King suffered from what we ALL share!!! The Seven (7) Deadly Sins!! Take your pick...I've got all 7. At least I'll admit to it here. That's why we "all can't get along"!!
OK The truth is as follows... King was a Druggie & a Drunk & the best thing that ever happened to him is he got beat by the Police as he received more money than he could spend on drugs & with all that money he still couldn't stay out of trouble
True. (Can't really comment more than you did)
go ahead memorialize this piece of human excrement. just goes to show that sharpton et al will pick up any flagpole, even if it is smeered with puke and vomit so they can get their sorry faces on television or MSNBC spews I mean news
Let me guess, you're a Zimmermann support too?
Sorry dude, but King had multiple DUIs, etc. He wasn't a hero. Being a victim doesn't mean you are a hero. This guy got beat down and that was it.
King's ordeal really did have a far reaching impact on American society. Most Americans were oblivious to the police brutality that was going on and this incident was a real eye opener. It made for some major changes in police departments around the states.
Just a statistic that hopefully made a positive difference in the lives of others as he couldn't change his life to benefit from millions from the settlement which he arguably deserved....
chitownporchcritter you speak of "people in the jungle" being on crack and the 40's, the last time I checked stats, drugs and alcohol is being misused by all races. There are whites who use crack and meth. In May there was a WHITE MAN WHO KILLED SEVEN INNOCENT PEOPLE because he was DRUNK!!! This wasn't his first DWI, nor DUI.
The bottom line is, this country has made very little progress regarding race issues because of narrow-minded individuals such as yourself!!! Do I agree with the actions of King, no; however, the officers' actions were just as wrong.
chitownporchcritter......seems like you need to live in a safer area...unless you just like pulling guns on blacks and complaining or gloating about it. Move out of your white trash trailer and live somewhere else....there are plenty of white trash trailer parks around so you shouldn't have any trouble finding one, or are you so entrenched in your bitterness and hatred you'd rather stay and simmer until you boil over?
How about the white truck driver who was beat to near death on natonal TV. Reginald Denny, I believe was his name. He also forgave his attackers, and sued the city. The cops actions were not right, but neither was the response.
Where's his settlement from the city (or maybe he got one, I'm not sure) but he's not the same now. The police beating RK was bad enough but the black youth took it upon themselves to beat senseless a working man out of revenge, disparity, apathy or whatever they called upon. That's exactly the sense of being that got the police discouraged and in the wrong place and state of mind, senseless. The police are needed there to keep the ignorant, drug induced, impoverished youth in their place and only killing their own and not outside their communites. Sad but true. At dark, stay out....during daylight, shoot first (don't beat), as 9 times out of 10 the gangbanger has a weapon and it was justified.
Get him buried before the autopsy report comes out. Don't want the truth ruining this "blessed" event
The mutt was more like a symbol of garbage. The mule ran from the police then resisted and deserved every hit the cops gave his criminal ass .
This country is reaching new lows when it comes to people that we celebrate! Signsof a decadent and bankrupt culture we have become!!!!!!!!
Celebrate? No, he's being memorialized. No matter how much you hate him, he's still got family and loved one that will mourn. We have definitely become a "decadent and bankrupt culture" when we kick fellow Americans who are no longer with us because of skin color.
You are kidding right? The guy was a drunken bum that had the unfortunate experience of getting beat down by the LAPD. Alcohol and drugs were part of this guy's life, which indirectly caused him to get beat down. The fact that he is black has nothing to do with it, unless you are insinuating that drugs and alcohol are the norm for black males.
"Black has nothing to do with it..." Really? Yeah and there is no hate and racism in the world anymore too.
@ Sacred - I wasn't aware that drugs and alcohol were racist and picked out their "victims" based on race. Thanks for clearing that up for us. And why are you so defensive on every post here? Do you have a personal stake in the King story? Didn't think so.
Cut the rascism remarks guys. This is a man who got the living hell beaten out of him. He didn't cause the riots. There is no need to bring rascism into. The beating that he got was just plain "wrong" No one deserves that.
the fact that blacks parade people like this around to their people as heroes just shows you how lost and backwards they are.....
The beating of anyone is terrible. But dont compare the truck driver to RK. ON video you see him resisting arrest. YES they did use more force than was necessary. but he gloated. Was arrested a lot more times and claimed it was because he was black. He received lots of money to only squander it away. All aside, My prayers for his family.
Why was this guy given such a heros send off. Yeah the cops, abused him, but his later actions almost made it seem like he deserved it. Multiple DUIs, etc. The guy wasn't a hero, just a poor schmuck that got a beat down. Not too long after his 15 minutes of fame was up he gets nailed for another DUI minus the beatdown. The guy wasnt a hero, or anyone really note worthy. Here in the Detroit area black guys get beat down all the time, and none of them are considered heros. It is sad the guy passed away, but making him out to be more than what he is, is rather lame.
Nobody said he was a hero. You did.
another one bites the dust; and another ones gone ,another ones gone....... things are looking up
Words from the right wing culture of today that would deny health insurance because it costs money.
hey burnt up; get the chimp in the white house and all those frakkers in the congress and senate to live with the same insurance they want to put us on; and I`ll sign up, otherwise go frak yourself.
Obamacare or Romneycare, take your pick, the healthcare of this nation will go down the tubes. The whole thing is to promote Big Pharma and not much more. With more and more immigrants coming into the US, expect your taxes to rise considerable and the quality of care to go down considerably. If you are fat, diabetic, etc, you will be screwed.
You are obviously a racist and instigator that has never served our country. Fxxx u.
Artie; lets hope I don't instigate a race war and nullify your pitiful premise. dumbass
I suppose the flags in LA will be at half mast. King was the victim of bad cops. Whether it was racially motivated, who knows. I think it could have been anyone, white or black, who just happened to have the bad luck of running into a bunch of thugs in uniform delivering their own perverse sense of justice. Can you imagine the frequent flier miles Al Sharpton has. That clown would show up anyway.
OMG, I hope not. Let the flags be lowered for something significant like a soldier or first responder giving their life for country or community, not a gang-banger offing himself or an overaged addict....
The birds are singing, the sun is shining...the world is a better place without Rodney King.
Vern, this man forgave those racist cops for kicking his butt. NO, the word will be a better place with racist people like you. It's time to stop hating mister. You might as well since blacks are not putting up with your @!$%#. Our ancestors got their ass beaten and hung by you losers, those days are over. You just try it. Come on racist
Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid - my reaction to most of the posts on here. How in the world does Rodney King's death in a swimming pool mean he was a druggie, drunk, criminal, etc.? The man was beaten by white cops. For no reason other than he was black. The man deserved a life of freedom - from prejudice, from prosecution when innocent of any crime, and as a child of God. Again, how in the world does that make him a criminal in trouble? My heart goes out to his fiancee, and shame to the distractors on this post. May God forgive us all for our prejudice and condemnation.
Uhhmm, because he was...he couldn't get off drugs and alcohol abuse despite the millions he received from the settlement. You can take the boy outta the hood but not the hood outta the boy. He was nothing special and just the catalyst for changes that needed to be made in LA and California.
Resisting arrest with violence can get you a legitimate tune up.
Barf, puke, barf, vomit, puke, barf, barf, barf ...
RK was nothing special and below the normal society at best - scum under the fingernails just fighting to exist. But he didn't deserve the treatment he received from LA's finest and was finally the catalyst after the jury returned a lesser than expected verdict. The cops were wrong and RK was nothing special as it just as easily could have been a hispanice or white person. Hope we all learn and I guess we still can't get along.
That photo of Adolf Sharpton and his Nazi thugs is very telling.
chitownporchcritter you are just another cowardly racist white turd that would cry like a baby if confronted by someone who heard your childish remarks. Maybe you should grow up and get a job.
Barf, puke, barf, vomit, puke, barf, barf, barf ...
This coming from someone called "Pray Hard". Please tell me where in the bible it says, "God is hate", because that seems to be what you're full of. The bible I grew up reading says, "God is Love" over and over again. Guess you forgot that Jesus said, "He who is without sin, let him cast the first stone", or that Jesus hung out with lepers and prostitutes. It's interesting to me how those who claim to be "Christians" are the least Christ-like of all.
You compare Al Sharpton and his church to Adolf Hitler and the Nazi's? Congratulation, you've established a whole new class of dumbass!!! LOL
I'm truly enjoying the show here you so called "respectable" white citizens are putting on here. Amazing how "white" peoples true colors come out (pun intended) when the issue of race comes around!
Keep up the good work, I'm making a bunch of money here betting on how many ignorant comments are made and what will be said next!!!
Another black man getting PAID off the ignorance of white!!! LOL
"Purely Disgusted", If you can't see or hear the racism in the 'black' community, your deaf as well as blind. That PC crap is coming to an end, the 'race card' is dead and people are tired of hearing about blacks whine about whitey. Blacks better move over, their hands may still be out, but they are being ignored for the 'Hispanics' (whether legal or not). Pretty soon, they might even have to get....a job... and not handouts in the form of welfare, to pay for themselves....ignorance (especially in the black community) may be bliss, but it's not going to be the white's that pay for it.
You know "Angela", I heard the same rhetoric comming out of a 35yo white man's mouth who had just been sentenced to life without the possibilty of parole for attempted murder classified as a hate crime because of evidence introduced to the case by yours truly. The sad part of the scenario is, 1. A better educated man (who happens to be black) was responsible for convicting him. 2. He now is spending the rest of his life locked up with everything he claims to hate (blacks, latinos. homosexuals ect....) 3. He is now part of group that is a bigger burden on taxpayers than minorities ever were or will be, and get this, he makes the equivilant of $1.50 a day working in the prison industrial center, (less than or equal to most of the third world countries he "ranted" about hating so much!!) Now if that isn't poetic justice I don't know what is!! LOL In a year or two he'll be dropping the soap on purpose on a regular basis thus joining one of the other groups he claimed to hate so much. Can you quess which one that is?
Don't pay me no mind though, as I said, I'm just another black man getting PAID off the ignorance of whites!!! Keep up the good work y'all!! LOL
Ok, now I'm bored. Goodnight to all my strong, black soldiers out there, keep up fight. And to all of the entertaining individuals that have shared their deepest, darkest most honest feelings and opinions with the world, from the fiber of my very being I thank you!!! You are a stark reminder of just how sick and twisted our society is and what exactly what a decent human being isn't!!! All of these sick, and perverted post you people have made here serve's as an excelent teaching tool for pre-schoolers of the kind of people not to become and who they need to stay away from in life.
I'm sure I'll be crossing paths with one or two of you in court, and when I do, you need to know that I will experience extreme satisfaction in assisting the state to making you a permenant resident amongst the very people you loath. Let's see what comes out your mouth then!!
I look forward to seeing some of ya' soon.
Actually your last post put me over the top on a side bet about you Chit, that you had one more ignorant post just dying to come out, and I was right!! THANKS!!! It brought me an extra $2,500 along with options on box seats at the NFL stadium here in town!! You da man Chit!!!! LOL
And actually, "business" has been excellent actually, thanks for asking. You can stop posting now, I got my money. Go get some rest, you deserve it!!! LOL
BTW: I'll let you in on a little secret Chit, but you got to promise not to tell anybody, (shhhh, be real quite, ok!!!) "Lawyers" don't put people in jail, they defend them, Prosecutors are "lawyers" that work for the state and they are the ones who put people in jail, but keep that to yourself, I don't want people to know what I do for a living ok? wink, wink. LOL And one more secret, anybody that can read knows that the majority of the prison population consist of the majority of African Americans, Caucasian's are second (Caucasian is fancy talk for "whitey" Chit!! Stay with me here buddy!!!) and Hispanic's come in third.
Sad thing is, I have too many "whitey's to hang", as you put it. I only find personal gratification in prosecuting people like you and your friends here on this forum. Too many lives have been lost and damaged by people who think like you and have been allowed to get away with it!! People that have managed to worm themselves into jobs like mine and exploit the power given to them by decent, god fearing, law biding decent people (you're probably gonna want to "google" those terms!), and actually go out of their way to fill up our prison system with as minorities as they can possibly get there hands on.
Procecuting those types of individuals is what "get's me off"!
Just thought I'd share that with you Chit.
No one deserves a beating - no one should ever punch a policeman either. Rodney King was on PCP. He was a large muscular young man with a powerful body made unusually stronger by the drug. Normal restaint and detaining methods were working. As humans, these men reacted- over-reacted given the number of them. they could have shot him which would have stopped Mr Kings attack but did not. Additionally his "forgiveness" and his not haboring any ill feeling or the officers did not stop him from suing the city for millions.
I want to believe in his later life he changed. Blaming him for riots is wrong. Those were the result of press coverage that made him an undeserving victim without ever showing or telling exactly what happened. That did come out at trial, but even then- the media did not see any value in the truth. There were 3 sides at fault here.
Rodney King was a pimple on the sweaty posterior of society, and he finally popped.
He's gone now Vern, so don't sweat it. Hope you have folks to remember your "accomplishments"
Vern and the rest of those who have nothing better to do than judge those they have no clue about live very lonely lives. Too bad they won't give their real name so we can dig up the dirt on these cowards and thats all they really are.
TC-1944027, I see that you are not giving up your name and address, COWARD. I am David M. Magee and I call you out. Rodney King was a drug addicted @!$%# that caused the deaths of 50 people, at least 4 cops their jobs and thounds of people their homes and livlyhoods, AL SHARPTON can kiss my ass. Rodney is is where he belongs, FREZZING IN HELL. @!$%# YOU TC
Post a few more comments junkman, I've just about met my handicap on the bets I've made about dumbasses like you making ignorant ass comments here. It's apparent you can't be any more than 12-13 years old "calling somebody out" Not sure what part of the country you're in, but it's almost 11pm here, isn't past your bedtime?
BTW: I see you didn't post your address or phone number along with that fake ass name you posted!!! Who's the coward?
the guy was a life long bad guy who never obeyed the law.he dose not deserve the coverage he is getting
mike, you're exactly right.
You're right Mike, we should cover the lives of the four white cops who were acquitted instead. Where are they now?
And the list of dumbasses grows!!LOL
I bet if I counted the number of dumbass comments made by you ignorant assed crackers by midnight P.S.T (that's Pacific standard time to the dumbasses that can barely read!!) it would be greater that 500 or so. I've got money riding on it!!
Another black man about to get PAID as a result of the ignorance of whites!!! LOL
I'm loving this @!$%#!! LOL
It's so sad that so many of these people are too stupid to realise they are hating a man not only for the color of his skin but because he was vindicated for being victimised by the very laws and law enforcement that are designed to protect them and theirs. All these fools know full well if that were their son regardless of what drug he was on (and white folk do plenty of drugs) they would be ready to scream bloody murder and be standing on the steps of some lawyers office the next day.
You are correct in what you say, But Sorry the man does not deserve being "memorialized" because his errant life choices placed him in a position to come in contact with the police frequently.. Again, sorry but white, black, orange, or green the man did nothing special.
Why don't black people think it is strange that with so many prominent exceptional black people in the world the media and Al Sharpton choose the Rodneys and Tawannas of the world to fawn over?
Your hero's are your "best" not your "pukes".
Spoken like a true CRACKER! Chit, 1. Never lived in the ghetto. 2. Graduated from Yale, class of 2000, (oh did I mention with a law degree!!) 3. I drive 2011 750i BMW ()bought it new!) Not bad for a "porch monkey huh!! LOL What about you, how's life been treating you and those poor farm animals you people seem to like to moleste? Or was that your first cousins? I'm sorry, I got that wrong, you marry your first cousins and cheat with barn animals!!
Forgive me, I'm a little rusty on your people's paraphiliac behavior patterns prevelent in the of the suedo-dominant xenophobic behavior so often seen in members of your race. And Chit says "huh?"
I happen to be an educated "porch monkey"!!! Doesn't that piss you off? LOL
BORING!!! Come on Chit, you were on a roll dude, what happened? Can't you get one of you buddies from the local klan to tweet you over some new rhetoric?
You must be tired, and I can understand why. I mean if I were in your shoes and knew that there were educated black folks that were everything I preach that they aren't, I'd be pretty upset, in fact, I wouldn't be able sleep knowing that one day I will come across one of those individuals and they will be in a position of having control over my well being!!! Be it in a courtroom, emergency room or public bathroom. Just knowing that at any moment your very life could depend on the morals and decency of a "porch monkey" (not to mention what kind of day the brother might be having at that moment! LOL)
Yeah, that type of thing most definately would keep me awake, if I were you of course!!
And with that, I'm going to bed!!!
Purely disgusted is actually waiting for his welfare check from cousin Obama,
Purely Disgusted, it makes it hard to believe that you are the weatlhy, highly educated, successful attorney that you claim to be when you argue like this with faceless internet idiots. You are arguing with people who can barely spell, don't understand proper grammar, and who are obviously juvenile at least in maturity if not in age. You have allowed them to pull you down to their level and a weakness in personality like that for damn sure won't help you win in court. Remember the old adage: arguing with people on the internet is like running in the special olympics... you might win but you're still retarded.
The FACT is this: RK attacked the police officers. (I saw the ENTIRE video, not just the race-baiting snippets the sensationlistic news media broadcast 24/7.) Once he attacked the fight was on, and rightly so. Please explain why a police officer should risk one iota of his safety and well being because some jacked up doper decides to fight? All RK had to do was follow commands and everything would have been over and done with. Notice, too, that the other two guys with him were never touched. Only the combative RK, because they sat down, shut up, and took the rightful orders of the authority over them at the moment.
The FACT is this: RK got the attention of the Authority because he was committing blatant illegal acts (high-speed driving in residential areas, then high-speed fleeing from the police, obviously DUI once stopped, etc. etc.). Then he attacked the police officer and ended up having his butt handed to him. So his actions (before, after, and during the entire incident) added to and caused the realized results. And you, the sensationalist media, and so many black people turned it into a racial issue. I can't argue whether there was or still is wide-spread corruption in LAPD because I don't live there. But I CAN look at the video and see that RK brought all that on himself, and I still don't think that police officers should even have to get their uniforms dirty, much less risk any injury regardless of how minor, just because some hyped up doper decides to fight with them.
The FACT is this: black people claimed the RK beating was the result of evil racism, that the white police officers were wrong for beating RK because they beat him only because he was black. Then they turned around and DID THE SAME THING TO REGINALD DENNY during the riots. They took a man who was TRULY innocent (not even at least partially to blame, like RK was), pulled him from his truck, beat him almost to death, ONLY BECAUSE HE WAS WHITE! THEY DID IT IN THE NAME OF RODNEY KING, BECAUSE THAT WAS THE (supposed) PURPOSE OF THE RIOTS: AN ANSWER TO THE RODNEY KING BEATING AND VERDICT! THEY DID THE SAME THING THEY CONDEMNED WHITE PEOPLE FOR, BUT STILL TRY TO CLAIM SOME KIND OF MORAL SUPERIORITY OVER RACISM! (Blacks would have furthered their cause exponentially had they not rioted, stolen televisions and tennis shoes, beaten up an innocent white man, and killed 50 other people in the name of some perverted, insane, chaotic "justice".)
Therein lies the problem with your and other peoples' arguments, and the reason why so many people, of so many races, take offense at the almost deification of RK in the black community. It's not so much RK himself they hate, for he was just a man, but the symbol of violence and black racial hypocrisy that the black community has forced upon him.
