The Legislature passes legislation it believes will handle the situation, and the governor signs the legislation into law. Those are the folks who are directly responsible for weak sentencing laws when it comes to repeat offenders.

The bottom line: There ought to be a better way to sentence porn makers and dealers, to make the sentence more meaningful. This quote comes to mind: "Don't do the crime if you cant do the time."

I think sex crimes and other violent crimes have low recidivism rates and it is robberies, larcenies, etc. that have the high recidivism rates. Of course since it appears that many sex crimes go unreported, it is possible that a perp could be abusing victims again but never be caught.

I'm Christian, and the bible taught me never to judge, to help those in need, that we were all made equal, that we are all loved and deserving of love, forgiveness is necessary (I struggle with this though), and most important, spread love, not hate.
