You had one incident with one d-bag cop so naturally they all must be "Gestapo". Yeah, that makes sense.

Proportionally there are more ass holes in law enforcement than you'll find in most other professions because the power that comes with the position attracts those kinds of people. Weren't the Waco killings described as suicides because the government claimed the inhabitants "set themselves on fire"?

The shooter in this case had showed up at his soon to be ex-wife's house in body armor and with multiple assault weapons. He shot and killed some paint store owner who was driving by the house and then tried to break into his ex's house. Neighbors heard the gunshots when the guy driving by was shot and killed and called the police. The police never fired at him, he shot at them as soon as they got out of the car and then he ran off.

This guy was no innocent, the innocents in this case are the guy who was driving to work, the ex-wife who was home alone getting ready to go to work, and the officers who are required to show up when there is gunfire in a residental neighborhood is reported. The shooter is the one who planned and set this entire tragedy in motion, so I have no empathy for him whatsoever. It's just too bad he didn't just kill himself before he decided he had the right to be judge, jury, and executioner on people around him.

For those that dont understand about firearms: an AR15 is a rifle that fires a .233 (5.56 NATO) round. We had one a few years ago in FL.the shooter killed the deputy and the dog. When they found him he didn't surrender fast enough. 120+ shots at him and I think he was hit 70+ times and killed. I complained to the deputies about this and said they should go to the firing range for more practice they only had about a 69% hit ratio.

I Understand what you read and want to believe some true, some false. I work for the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey. (PANYNJ).

There is a lot of suspicious activity that "Must" be checked out. The problem is, there are a lot of people that feel "profiled" or do/act stupid and need to be checked out then, they complain not realizing the Homeland Security has a job to do and by their stupid activity, raise inadvertent suspicion. They are not a professional in security thus feeling like they're being targeted. Then you'll read such things that they want to to believe such as the link you sent me. Unfortunately there is corruption wherever you go and in all and every profession which is another part of the link.

The guys that got on the plane that flew into the towers were suspicious and questioned but left to board the planes. The ramifications we learned from that (and the rest of that fateful day) were implemented in our training now. There are "WAY" too many things going on today from Disney World to Subways and even though they do not know how many Homeland Security personnel there are, there still aren't enough to cover all the bases.

cunning...you are ignorrant to the facts. having spent over 10 years in europe working among union aircraft workers i saw 1st hand what they make. it hardly works out to $12 an hour. average pay for a mechanic was around $800 a month. there is no incentive whatsoever. the guys sitting in the break room all day draw the sme pay as the guy staying busy working his job all day. they got the entire month of august off....which was nice if you had the money to enjoy it. i saw all kinds of ways to earn on the side. selling phones in the plant, phone cards, coins, olive oil, cheese...hell it was like a dollar store in there. but these guys were thrilled to pick up an extra 5 to 10 euros a day on the side. as far as free hospital? another joke. my good friends wife had a brain tumor and had to wait almost 9 months before she could get in for surgery. now had she been rich she could have been taken care of right away by either coming to america or using a private doctor there. the guy sweeping the hospital floor was the same guy who removed stitches from a friends head. i know this because i took her there myself as she had no car and no money for the bus. the general public was allowed to own handguns but only after a long drawnout process. so this left the mafia free to run the show. every small biz payed 10% monthly and trust me they paid up or went away. i saw nothing wrong with the educational system as i had no kids enrolled. they did however attend school on saturday. and back to med care....the nurses were mostly nuns....poorly paid if at all. the 35 hour work week you spoke of? another ignorrant statement. there were 2 shifts...6 to 2....2 to 10 and they all but begged to work extra hours. on the otherhand...if you were rich then trust me...europe is the place to be. far far better food...fresh fruit and veggies that america hasnt seen in 40 years...unless of course you raise your own. awesome wine...cheese etc. gasoline at the time was about $8 a gallon...much higher today. i still go back yearly to visit my friends and enjoy their lifestyle. but my point is dont make it look so rosey with all the free med care etc. not happening. so you libs out there get ready....keep voting for obumma and the socialist party and soon enuff you will all see this 1st hand. its already happening. personally i think its too late...we are already steaming toward socialism. you lib idiots are following opra and ellen and all the rich west coast and east coast stars down a path to hell. just remember 1 thing tho....those folks have the bucks and can afford villas in france and italy or wherever the choose. and if you think for 1 second that they will invite you along then you better wake up. you are gona be stuck right here standing in long lines to get your assistance along with all of your other ignorant lib puppets. i am also glad i was born here. now i have the rare opportunity to go back if i choose because i still maintain my resident staus overseas. so if you dont believe me go see for yourselves. get off the beaten path and follow the daily life of the average european. its not a horrible life by any means but if you do your homework and really see 1st hand what life there is really about then you may change your vote. but then lets be realistic...most of you prefer to live off the system and have big brother running your daily lives and providing for you and your family just enuff to get by. just not for me is all im saying.

I've personally been in Europe over 30 times in the last 20 years-germany, Sweden, the UK, Italy and can assure you life there isn't at all grim like you state. and, no, Gas is not "much higher" than $8/gallon-at least not two weeks ago, when I was last there (Sweden/Poland). LOL. Hamuel many of the civilian firearm owners are better trained and have more practice than your average cop. I have plenty of cops in my family and I can tell you I practice more in a month than they are allowed to in a year. Guns are one of many tools an officer has and fortunately for them one of the least used.

Going out to the firing range DOES NOT make a civilian TRAINED at handling a firearm. It does give them very limited practive at hitting a target. The point was a person that had training and experince being in adreneal pump situation was killed another person with a gun. How can you expect the average Consealed weapons owner to handle the situation with out killing himself or by stand if trained and experianced profesnials can't? Civilians don't need firearms they don't make us safer. There are better options like less lethals that civilians can carry that are perfect for there training and experiance

The "rules of engagement" are such that a lot of cops are afraid to draw their weapons for fear of repercussions. Same problem with our soldiers in the Middle East who want to get the job done, but can't do to the fear of a court-martial.

I have no had run ins with cops because i abide by the law even if it is stupid, still the law and like someone else said before if we don't like it; we go and change it and that is what hopefully we all go and do in November.
