Kevin Cleeves
Three people were shot dead Friday night in rural Pennsylvania, state police said Saturday, and the suspect was later arrested after fleeing with his four-year-old daughter. One of the dead reportedly was the child's mother.
Kevin Cleeves, 35, was under arrest and his daughter was safe in police custody, NBC affiliate WGAL TV reported.
During the search for Cleeves, police also initiated an Amber Alert for the child.
The shootings happened in Quincy Township and Cleeves was arrested some 250 miles away in Austintown, Ohio.
Police said Cleeves had argued with the victims Friday night when he went to pick up his daughter from his wife, the Record Herald of Waynesboro, Pa., reported.
The dead were identified as Brandi Cleeves, Vincent Santucci and Rosemary Holma, the Record Herald stated.

The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown, Md., reported the court documents indicate Brandi Cleeves was the child's mother and Cleeves' wife.
Austintown Police Chief Bob Gavalier said it was his understanding that the Cleeves were separated, and that Santucci was Brandi Cleeves' boyfriend and that Holma was his mother.
More details were expected to be released later Saturday.

if all good people carried guns, maybe the idiot criminals and crazed lunatics would have second thoughts about doing these crimes. sure there would be mistakes and accidents, but we would be free, and we would be fighting back against this lunatic movement stemming from our children locking themselves in their room and playing Call of Duty....... just dreaming about being a COVERT SEAL...... they aren't being taught that they too can be a SEAL or a HERO,,,,, if they would get out of their room and go LEARN!!!! they cant do that because its TO HARD..... lazy bums.

You blame kids watching video games locked in their rooms for gun violence? If they're locked in their rooms the only ones they're shooting would be themselves....yet you think they should get out of their rooms and learn what real heros are....by.....what.....shooting people?
You might have that ever so popular hero syndrome so prevalent in gun purchasers....the one where they envision themselves saving innocent people by shooting a crazed gunman. Many more of them end up shooting family members than anyone else.

I live in a very small community in northern Az. For the most part, there is no crime here to speak of. With a few exceptions most who live here get along. We are NOT all the same, liberal, conservative, and everything in between. The most crime we have had in the 15 yrs of living here have been theft from the store at the top of the hill..Firewood. I personally saw it happen, took note, called 911, and they were caught. (I did NOT engage, That would have escalated the situation further than just vandalizing n theft.) the other indecent involved a troubled child with sticky fingers....He's learned better now, and it wasn't from fear.
Now, I've said all this and you may wonder where I'm headed or what point I'm making...getting to that now. As I stated, I've lived here 15 yrs, with very little crime.(One reason I moved here) BUT, last month we joined the rest of the country in murder. One, a couple were fighting, the lady was breaking up with him...he snapped and shot her in the face dead. The second, happening less than two weeks later was similar, but no gun. The man strangled his girlfriend to death. Two different incidents with the same outcome......Death. ( I do know the sister of the lady who was shot. This has almost destroyed her.) Even with our differences, we are a rather tight knit community and are doing what we can for all affected by these senseless deaths. It quite heart breaking.
Again, the point?? 2 ladies are dead.... either by gun or by hand, they are just as dead. Guns are a problem yes, but only because it makes killing much easier, and less personable. Once an individual man or woman, snaps, and they see blood, killing is their only thought, and will kill anyway that's available. Banning guns will NOT solve this problem.
A lot say it's the video games, ty...etc. I don't think anyone has mentioned our Govt. or society in general. It seems many see only violence as an answer. Shock and awe, Dead or Alive, preemptive strike......Our own political leaders, and their talking heads, use violent language to "rile" people up so they can get backing for whatever agenda is on their plate.
An Example: Glenn Beck..... "The liberals are coming to get YOU. There's coming, and will shoot you between the eyes. And, the only way to stop them...is to shoot them between the eyes first."
Such words of wisdom are quite mind boggling. Solves everything. Shot first n claim self defense.
I do not have any real answers,except maybe we could teach our children love and respect for others. And maybe ask our politicians to ramp down their Re-load, Lock n Load, Take'm out, and all the other violent retoric. Yes, we have free speech, but use just a tad of common sense. Your words may have been heard by a nutjob on the fence and that might be just enough to snap them. Resulting in another congresswoman/man being gunned down on the streets. Or, a crowed theater, mall or your backyard.
I'm NOT for outlawing guns, that solves nothing and may actually increase the mayhem. Most people here where I live own guns, lots are vets (me included) who know their weapons and understand and respect what they do. Now, maybe, we should screen the idiots who have air time to the whole country, and get them off the air.
I could go on, but I've ranted enough for now...... It's not guns.....it's the mentality that all can be solved with them that's the problem.

Gun control laws make no difference to people who NEVER obey any laws anyway. The next step is for gun purchases be reported to the government and registered to the owner. That way the government can, whenever they deem necessary, come and get your registered weapons. It has happened before in Germany and it wasn't very pretty. The government has no business knowing if I own firearms or not! I need something to protect myself more from what this government is becoming than I do from house burglars!

Kevin Cleeves should get a fair trial and then the death penalty from the Commonwealth. Harrisburg maintains a number of dangerous convicts who have execution warrants by fair-minded Juries. Inmates like Ernest Wholaver, Mark Spotz, Joey Miller, and Richard Poplawski deserve immediate capital punishment. Christopher Johnson and Brian Hummert also must be considered for the execution chamber. Pennsylvania does not have money in the state budget to keep heinous murderers.
People will kill people. The reasons are almost un-countable. Most of them will pick the easiest way. If a gun is not available, they'll pick something else.
Removing guns will NOT stop the killing.
Remove the gun and it will stop the shooting.

Actually, it was the individual using the firearm that did the crime. I very seriously doubt if the people were attacked and screaming, they were screaming at the firearm. I suspect they were shouting at the individual.

Another loser can't let go and move on with his life. The legal system needs to start making example out of them may be they would think twice before they take someone's life .
Your statement is so true for many things. When a person kills another with no reason at all, they need to be made examples of. When A drunk driver runs someone over and puts them in a wheelchair, they need to be held accountable. When a mother interferes with custody and visitation in anyway they need to be jailed with no excuses given as to why they should not be.
BTW, This guy was not simply motivated by an inability to move on. You should read the local news report on it. It is more informative then this story and sheds more light on the situation.
What this guy did in killing those people and getting himself put away was proof that he did not deserve the daughter he had. It is sad, but it is also a wake up call to society. It is time we revisit how we treat one another.

This has taken place in a small rural area that I have lived near. It is in bum f@$k eqypt, most all of the people own guns because for many that is how they get their food, buy hunting not buy shopping.

I live on a private island here in Florida we don't need regular guns, that is, we use spear guns.

When you take children away from their father there is going to be trouble. Women need to understand that 1) those children carry his name for a reason. 2) Many many many women use their kids as a weapon. I dont know the facts of the case, none of you do yet so lets wait and see. Our 2nd amendment rights are safe for now but wait for Hillary to reinstitute the vote on the international small arms treaty.
And lastly, women need to understand that men feel like they are being victimized. The courts have wrongfully put women in charge of marriages and children, when that happens trouble will follow. Especially if children are being turned against them or being kept from them. WOMEN, DONT USE CHILDREN THE SAME WAY YOU USE SEX..... LIKE A WEAPON.

The sad part of the whole situation is that the poor 4 year old little girl was denied the love of her mother and now she won't have her father either!!! When she grows up and finds out what he did I hope she writes to him and tells him that as far as she is concerned he died when her mother died!!!

Alright people. Not a big gun owner but I do believe in the Bill of Rights. With that being said, this guy was apparently involved in yet ( and increasingly ) another custody issue involving his child. If this man was a mess during the custody hearing, then why wasn't a Psych eval asked for? Many men teeter on the verge simply because OUR Family Court system will NOT do a damn thing for them in regards to the children. Jack up support ( with rarely a downward reduction during a layoff or change of finances ), Show up to pick them up and the ex refuses to follow orders ( which judges refuse to hold in contempt ). They even fabicate false allegations just to get custody without requiring a shred of evidence in which judges simply 'choose to believe' in err. Imagine a wonderful man and father, who catches the Mrs' cheating and files for divorce, only to have his name and reputation drug through the mud just because the ex wants to receive money in form of support and to punish him some how. With that, she can now control EVERY aspect of his life for the next 18 years. No equality, no punishment, no justice and as for the fathers? No kids, no money, no family, no name, no job, no home, no love and no respect for the American Justice System that is a corrupt racket. The courts KNOW men pay support more so than women and that support goes into the pockets of the local DA and support offices. For every $500 spent on enforcing support collection, only $1 is spent on enforcing visitation rights and the 2 subjects are printed on the SAME order. Women need to start going to jail for violating visitation rights.

Why must you continually attempt personal insults against people who happen to like and own firearms? Is it a personality disorder you have or are you that insecure in your own personage that you must make feeble attempts at denigrating others? Again, why must you devolve into personal or attempted personal insults? Are you incapable of supporting your position with intelligence or logic?
For your edification, I routinely do sit-ups, push-ups, and other forms of exercise. Running is unfortunately out of the question as the pounding would create more problems with a metal replacement hip that I am willing to experience. Besides, I'd REALLY piss my surgeon off if I messed up his work!!
