Subscribe to RSSPolice in New Jersey say they have arrested a man they believe pushed his girlfriend and infant from a third-story window. WNBC's Pei-Sze Cheng reports.
A 3-month-old child who fell out a window and plunged three stories in his mother's arms when the baby's father allegedly attacked them at their New Jersey apartment last week has died, police said.
The baby had been listed in extremely critical condition at the hospital since the brutal attack Friday. His mother is in a medically induced coma in stable but critical condition.
A third woman who was wounded by the suspect when she tried to call 911 was expected to be released from the hospital Tuesday after undergoing emergency surgery.

Police alleged that Frederico Bruno, 19, repeatedly stabbed both women and then pushed his ex-girlfriend into an air conditioner, causing her and the baby to go through a window and fall three stories, authorities said.
The woman landed on top of her child.

Bruno was taken into custody hours after the attack when police found him hiding in a refrigerator in a vacant apartment a few miles away.
He was charged on Monday with 17 counts, including attempted murder and child abuse.
Frederico Bruno is accused of pushing his ex-girlfriend into an air conditioner, causing her and her 3-month-old baby to fall three stories.

Police said they were continuing to work with prosecutors to determine if additional charges should be filed against Bruno.
He was being held Monday and couldn't be reached for comment. He hadn't been arraigned, and it was unclear if he had an attorney.

How horrible for that poor baby, her mother, and the friend who tried to stop it. Unbelievable.
Seems like a pretty cut-and-dry case to me. Upgrade the charges to murder, let the justice system do it's thing - the corrections system will have plenty of time to "do it's thing" later.

I am all for giving similar punishment to people. I bet it would reduce some of the crime once people learn they will get the same treatment as punishment.
I thought the same thing. Give him his fair trial, and when he's found guilty, shove him out of the same window. Repeat as often as necessary until he's a lifeless corpse.

Though the article doesn't mention it, this monster went downstairs after he pushed his ex-girlfriend (who had a restraining order against him) out of the window, found a table, and continued to beat her while she was lying senseless on the ground. It's times like this when I wish there were Dexters in this world to impart vigilante justice on someone who is clearly guilty.

While prisons are for criminals, they still have a code of conduct when it comes to babies. They will show him the true meaning of pain and suffering.

I have to agree with everyone. How can it be cruel and unusual punishment to execute someone in the same manner they executed another? However we have the Constitution the courts claim to abide by but that is hogwash as well. Just put him in general population and send a few cartons of cigarettes to the executor and be done with it. He will get convicted of involuntary manslaughter and will only spend a few years or at least that is what the prosecutors are likely to plea deal for a conviction unless of course he is found mentally stable enough to go to trial. Just give him a doll or a concrete ball or even a basketball to hold onto as he falls. Maybe the basketball will bounce him high enough to fall again after he loses grip of it

This man intended to kill the mother of his child, as well as the child when he attacked them both. Even after they fell onto the ground and he used a table to beat the mother. Such wanton disregard of human life shows he lacks any human decency or regard for life.It is beyond comprehension how such a creature could do this brutal and despicable act. I believe, while in this life we may not be able to fully see he serves the full measure of true justice for all the suffering he has inflicted, there will be an eternal justice he cannot espcape. I pray the surviving victims will be able to find peace, support and healing as time passes.
It's ok...a product of that family would have turned 16 or 17 and ended up in a gunfight/drugdeal gone ary that led to murder anyway...and there may have been innocent bystanders then. Not happy the baby died...just saying it was only 17 or so years early and there was no collateral damage.

I never said the child deserved to die...i'm simply observing the cyclical trend in violent, poor households and communities...which is a societal inevitability for a high percentage that grow up within it. If you don't understand that and you disagree with the wealth of statistics that support my claim, feel free. Do not compare the small bad choices I've made in my life (that were detrimental on a very small scale to no one but me) to this woman.We all have choices... those who are from a poverty ridden background being irresponsible enough to not take precaution when they have sex with a violent product of the poor, dangerous community she lived in...no i have not ever 'made a bad judgment' then if that is the euphemism you are using to describe such a choice. As much as I'd like to believe it, do they really do those kinds of things in prison to scumbags like this? If they do, how come we never hear about a group of inmates "taking care" of a POS like this when it comes into the general prison population? I would like to believe it, because for sure this POS and others like him deserve more than just sitting in prison wasting the taxpayers money and being taken care of. That's exactly what they want, since they have no sense of pride, no desire to earn an honest living. I sure hope he gets his, not having the other inmates necessarily kill him, but just giving him a tortured, miserable life for the next 30-50 years or so.

I bet the cops who found this creature in the refrigerator wanted to just chain the door shut and go on home to dinner, they can go and "find" his carcass tomorrow sometime. But they can't do that. Now they have the distasteful job of protecting him when his fellow inmates find out exactly what he's done. Hopefully the justice system there will swiftly do it's job and get him into a cage forever. He's not a human, he's not an animal, he's a mutant who doesn't belong with people or animals.
