Wrong.. Most groups have extremists because they misconstrue the words in their own religion. That is why some Muslims hate the west because most have been taught by people who in their own opinions hate the west or they are reading the verses wrong in the first place. Even the Holy Bible has killings and calls for killings in it when it is appropriate but you have to put the whole book together and think about what is appropriate and what is not. For example, in the old testament it says an eye for an eye a tooth for a tooth, which meant that if someone did you wrong you were not to take more that what they took from you. That verse was to teach tolerance and that you should never take more than what was taken from you. So the example would be if someone in your family was murdered then the murderer was to give his or her life in payment of the life they took. If a person stole from you, then a certain amount of money was to be given to the family of the stolen goods by the thief in payment. This is still practiced in many places in the ME. Remember the soldier who killed 14 people in a house in Afganistan? The American government paid thoes families for thier loss which is what the Bible demands since the one person's life would not ever equal the 14 people's lives that were lost. Yet most Christians believed that to be wrong and that the families of the victims were wrong in asking for payment. Think about this for a moment. If a person is murdered here in America the court system is set up so that if it is found that the person is not guilty due to it being an accident or insanity or any other cause which would not land him or her on death row the family of the victim can sue the person for compensation. Yet this is not frowned upon in the US. The issue here is that America is supposed to be the land of freedom. We have freedom of speech, freedom of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness but most no longer believe in the freedom of religion. We have become so scared of different people or different religions that we no longer want to tolerate them and that is wrong. We will never be the country our founding fathers wanted us to be if we can not tolerate people who are different from us.

It's not the 'behavior of Muslims'. The very fact that there are examples from other religions should indicate to you that it's not the fault of the religion, it's the person committing the act. There will always be someone who hates someone else, sometimes for no reason whatsoever. And they will use any excuse to justify that hatred. I find your statistics somewhat hard to believe. 2.8 deaths per 100,000. Why have they asked for help? I read that Mexico and some countries in South America and Hondurus were the top 10 for violent deaths.

The Anglicans (Church of England) are NOT Catholic. Do you actually KNOW much about the variety of Christian sects and their histories? First, 3/4 of the Bible is NOT Christian theology, but Jewish theology taken out of context. Jews read AND discuss the Old Testament (Torah). And its theology is full of violence, lust, revenge, and abhorrent behavior (not only sexual, but faith-based genocide and slavery as well as tinges of racism). The "Two Great Comandments" are Christian religion. Its theology is based on love, sacrifice, sin and redemption.

Too many preachers today find that it is easier to fill pews preaching the Old Testament, because too many people (contrary to the beliefs of the Tea Party) want a God of rules and laws dictating every bit of their life. Laws are much easier than thinking. And if the law isn't clear or what they need, they just ask the preacher to make something up to satisfy them. And too many preachers are willing to do just that. Just research "The Rapture". And when the desired theology is hatred, someone will step forward to preach hatred.

I have always thought that organized religion was formed with an agenda to control the people and amass wealth and status. In my opinion, most people attend religious worship for one of 3 reasons (1) social contacts, (2) business contacts, (3) political contacts. Which explains why so many conservative Christians attend worship services on a regular basis and then feel it is ok to have affairs with someone other than their spouse, cheat their business associates and customers, and lie to their neighbors about it.

Nice try, BUT Mohammed is not "the true son of Allah." Islam has no Holy Trinity or son of God. Mohammed is considered as the "true prophet of Allah." Muslims earn their way into Paradise through either virtuous living or by dying in support of jihad. Christians believe in one, three part God (God the father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit). Heaven is God's gift of Grace, earned only by belief and devotion.

The Christian faith also has a stipulation in it that says if you die for God that you will enter Heaven. Its called a Martyr. You may notice the name "Christ" that is present in the appelation of those that adhere to the Christian faith. Yes, there is a reason for the followers of Christ to bear his name ( first starting in Antioch and has not bearing on what is actual, because an appelation is just stick and stones anyway ). But there was a reason, none the less, that we call followers of One True God, Christians. They are called Christians because they believe that Christ is the spotless sacrifice that was made in order for their mortal souls to make it into heaven and that is the only way to make into heaven, or else, maybe, they would not have been called Christians.
