While investigators continue to search for a motive in the deadly shooting at a Sikh temple in Wis., they say alleged gunman Wade Michael Page was active in the white supremacist scene for at least 12 years, playing in two bands associated with racist skinheads.
The gunman who allegedly attacked a Sikh temple in southern Wisconsin, killing six people and wounding four, was a “white supremacist skinhead” and “frustrated neo-Nazi” who led a white power punk and metal band, groups that track extremism said Monday.
Wade Michael Page, 40, was the founder of End Apathy, according to Mark Potok, a senior fellow at the Southern Poverty Law Center. In a blog post about Page, Potok cited an April 2010 interview that the alleged gunman gave to the “Uprise Direct” music website about the band’s work.

Page said his band, which formed in 2005, “was based on trying to figure out what it would take to actually accomplish positive results in society and what is holding us back. A lot of what I realized at the time was that if we could figure out how to end people’s apathetic ways it would be the start towards moving forward. Of course after that it requires discipline, strict discipline to stay the course in our sick society.
“So, in a sense it was view of psychology and sociology. But I didn't want to just point the finger at what other people should do, but also I was willing to point out some of my faults on how I was holding myself back. And that is how I wrote the song ‘Self Destruct,’’ he said.
Mark Pitcavage, director of investigative research for the Anti-Defamation League, said Page was a member of the Hammerskins, "one of the oldest and largest hardcore racist skinhead groups," and identified himself as a Northern Hammerskin, part of the group’s upper Midwest branch.
End Apathy had been a featured band in recent years at many Hammerskin-organized white power music concerts, such as the August 2010 “Meet & Greet BBQ & Bands” in North Carolina, the Hammerskins’ St. Patty’s Day Show in March 2011 in Orlando, Fla., and Hammerfest 2011 last October in Orlando, Pitcavage noted in a blog post, in which he described Page as a "white supremacist skinhead."
Researchers say the alleged gunman in the Wisconsin Sikh temple was deeply involved in hate group subculture. The Army veteran, who was discharged for a drinking problem, played in two bands associated with racist skinheads. NBC's Pete Williams reports.
“We had identified Page several years ago as someone who was prominent in the white-power music scene,” he told NBC News. He said Page also used a pseudonym, “Jack Boot,” an apparent reference to the high military boots worn by members of dictatorial regimes such as Nazi Germany.
The white-power music scene is one of the main things that the Hammerskins do in the United States and is a “fairly important part of the white supremacist subculture" in the country, said Pitcavage. Because of Page's role in that music scene, he had already become linked with the Hammerskins through his involvement in bands tied to the group and his performances at their events.
Page became a “fully patched” member of the Hammerskins by late 2011 after going through an apprenticeship period. He had one of their tattoos on his right arm -- a sort of cogwheel with the numbers 838 inside it (838 is an alpha-numeric code that means “hail crossed hammers,” a reference to their logo of two-crossed hammers that was taken from Pink Floyd’s “The Wall”), Pitcavage said. The tattoo also had the group’s colors of red, black and yellow.
A photo of Page also showed that he had a Celtic Cross tattoo with the number 14 in it, which is a “major white supremacist symbol,” Pitcavage said.
The Hammerskins emerged in Texas in the mid-to-late 1980s and spread across the country. They are loosely organized, not hierarchical and tend to group themselves regionally.

“It has had a strong association with violence over the past several decades,” Pitcavage said, noting that it was not surprising that the alleged gunman “was a white supremacist because white supremacist shooting sprees tend to be directed at minorities.”

Page said in the “Uprise” interview that his music was a mix of '80s punk, metal and Oi!, a subgenre of punk.
“The topics vary from sociological issues, religion, and how the value of human life has been degraded by being submissive to tyranny and hypocrisy that we are subjugated to,” he said in the interview.
Page was a “frustrated neo-Nazi who had been the leader of a racist white-power band,” wrote Potok, of the Southern Poverty Law Center. “In 2000, the Southern Poverty Law Center has found that Page also attempted to purchase goods from the neo-Nazi National Alliance, then America's most important hate group.”
The FBI was “looking at ties to white supremacist groups” in the case, said Teresa Carlson, FBI special agent in charge in Milwaukee. They were also investigating the attack as possible domestic terrorism, which she noted meant use of force or violence for social or political gain. The FBI did not have an active investigation on Page before Sunday.
Page, an Army veteran who served from 1992 to 1998 but was never deployed, said in the “Uprise” interview that he was from Colorado and that in 2000 he “wanted to basically start over.”
“So, I sold everything I owned except for my motorcycle and what I could fit into a backpack and went on cross country trip visiting friends and attending festivals and shows. I went to the Hammerfest 2000 in Georgia, over to North Carolina, up to Ohio, down to West Virginia, and out to California… .”
Since 2009, the United States has been in the middle of a “huge resurgence” of right-wing extremism largely split into two spheres: an anti-government extremist one, such as the militia movement, and white supremacists, Pitcavage said. The number of militia groups has quintupled in the past three years and there have been many arrests of white supremacists over the same time for acts of violence, he said.
The election of a non-white president and the struggling economy were the triggers, Pitcavage said.
“It’s just a huge number of incidents from the extreme right since 2009. It’s the biggest resurgence of right-wing extremist activity since the mid-1990s and the Oklahoma City bombing (in 1995), and it’s causing problems all around the country,” he added.
On End Apathy's Myspace page, the group listed its location as Nashville, N.C., and said they had finished recording for an upcoming release on Label 56, which the ADL described as a Maryland-based company that distributes racist skinhead music, videos and merchandise. The last login for the page was dated Feb. 21, 2012.
Label 56 issued a statement Monday saying that all images and products related to the group had been removed from their website.
“We do not wish to profit from this tragedy financially or with publicity,” said the label. “In closing please do not take what Wade did as honorable or respectable and please do not think we are all like that.”
Label 56 officials did not respond to an email and phone call seeking comment.

Pink Floyd should be banned...
Since 2009, the United States has been in the middle of a “huge resurgence” of white-ring extremism, such as anti-government militias and white supremacy
We should be worried. All of these groups are also heavily armed, and they think that they will be "defending" the country and "the constitution" by going against anybody that is not like them.
Unfortunately, this goes for any group of people. I have been arguing with extremists about gay adoption for days now and several posts were about gays dying and getting shot. This world is too divided, and this country is way too divided to stand strong. Everyone hates everyone, and media and social networking doesn't help any of it.
thats funny because when gw was doing all that stupid crap he was doing, there was no resurgence of left wing extremist groups perpetrating all kinds of violence everywhere.
so when someone tells you 'both sides do it' or that this is just some lone wolf lunatic, or some sort of isolated incident, be sure to locate a nearby fire extinguisher because their pants are probably on fire.
'both sides' are not the same, not equal, not mirror image of each other.
Pink Floyd ??? really??? Have you ever herd Pink Floyd ??...Oh, do you mean Pink Floyd is punk rock? or what ?
Smart Comment....NOT
Yeah 'cause Pink Floyd is all about race riots etc and the peaceful music by Skinhead bands is so misunderstood......... *facepalm*
the crazes are out there; wonder why American citizens want to have a firearm in their home, car and a cwp permit; you are helpless if one of these nut's comes upon you and your family, unless you are ready to take them down, before they take down you and your family. our founding fathers well knew what they were doing when they wrote the second amendment !
Interesting choice of words "Extreme right"...
“huge resurgence”
Complete myth, or better, deliberate effort to not disclose what the original numbers were before this "huge resurgence" to make it sound big. None of these groups can get together 1,000 people in one spot ever. Protesters against them always outnumber them at their meetings.
"Huge resurgence" means, they'll have 70 white bald guys at the next rally instead of 50.
He has clearly internalized the catastrophic and ignorant misunderedumacation provided by Faux News.
Heck of a job, racist Reichwing and NRA.
The election of a non-white president and the struggling economy were the triggers, Pitcavage said.
Ohhhh, so THAT's what the republicons are saying with their "take our country back" mottos.
Scientifically, there could be some truth to one race being superior to another, intelligence wise, but those who argue in favor of that theory seem to prove themselves to be the greatest example that refutes the argument.
"A huge resurgence of white-ring extremism, such as anti government militias and white supremacy"
Gentlemen, my I present to you "The Tea Party"
"Scientifically, there could be some truth to one race being superior to another, intelligence wise, but those who argue in favor of that theory seem to prove themselves to be the greatest example that refutes the argument."
A bit confused to your logic, as it could be read as "if you argue against it then it validates the argument?"
You left wing nut jobs disgust me! This crazy person what just that crazy. And for you idiots to say he is some how the same as the tea party makes you seem as crazy as he was.
Neither Fox News, Conservatism, TEA Party, nor Republicans had anything to do with the moron. And all your hateful comments linking a man who murdered Innocent people to a political party you do not agree with just shows why people are leaving the Democratic Party in droves.!
Far Left Nazi circa Socialist , Far right Nazi circa Eugenicist. You have alot in common.
"Neo-Nazi" is extreme & frightening , period. They don't like anybody, Hindus, Catholics, Jews, Buddhists, etc. You have to be nothing or Protestant (non-practicing, obviously) , and have a family tree where all jumped off the Mayflower.
Thank God he never deployed.
You want to see INTOLERANCE? You want to see VIOLENCE? Check out OWS.
Zaruski
You're right BOTH sides are NOT equal. Just take a look at the difference between the TEA party(gets a permi tto assemble, follows the law and cleans up after. No assaults or rapes. Then there is OWS. Assault,s rapes, Anti semitic

@AreuTeaTarded?
And Again with the Immature democrats who don't know anything about government.
Tina McManus Frei
I definately do not nor ever will agree with gay adoption. Does that make me an extremeist or just someone that disagrees with you? Or is it that anyone that disagrees with your opinions is automatically labeled an extremist?
So much gay on the brain in this country that we can't even discuss the idiocy of a white power moron shooting up people without something to do with gay's appearing only 3 comments down in the message board. -.-

Actually I think the parties you mentioned ( Fox, Tea Party) Limbaugher, etc. do have something to do with it. Even if NO ONE affiliated with those specific organizations approved of these types of people's actions the hate and vitroil they spew feeds into these 'crazies' world view. They feel like they aren't alone, that many people feel exactly the same way and that they can be a hero to conservatives.
The right-wing politicians start the process by preaching hate and the media feeds it in the name of ratings and 'clicks'. If you can't see it, then you are either short-sighted, uneducated, or actually approve and are just as bigoted.
Read your history. This is exactly how the Nazis came to power. This is exactly how the Communists came to power. First they pick one or more minority group (Jews, Muslims, gays, illegal immigrants, take your pick), foster hatred for that group and then instill fear in the population that 'your world is changing and these people are responsible'. Our country is falling into this trap. God help us if we can't see and stop it before its too late.
We must respect their rights. Then put them in a box labeled I love Israel and drop them in Iraq
And just think...Democrats want felons to be able to vote! What a deal!
Pink Floyd's "The Wall" is anti-nazi. Roger Water's father was killed in WW2 by the Germans, and he has always been anti-nazi in his music, and life. The Hammer(s)skins/SS/bay city skins etc. use the symbol from the album, but have misinterpreted the meaning behind it...
Devdoc12able
Yeah, the ignorant lefties like to spout off at the mouth dont they?
Two can play this game here we go. All of the college shooters were lefties. The guy who shot up the movie theater in Colorado was a leftie. Most if not all gang-bangers are lefties. I wonder how many deaths have been caused by lefty gang bangers in California and Oregon over the past year?
Generalizations rock don't they!!!
Great Job America!
- I'm not defending Obama, but don't forget to mention that Congress had a hand in all of that. Our entire political class needs to be sent pink slips.
It all started with the Tea Party and their right wing ideas, Ban them too!
Gotta love that people need to bring up the Lib/Con..Dem/Rep debate. Calling each other names like a bunch of Jr.High kids when the article is about a hateful mass murder.
Michelle Bachmann needs to be arrested for aiding and abetting a terror act.
Great Job America - What is the name of the extreme right wing skinhead group to which you belong? You seem to have the same mentality as Jack Boot.
Look up the cost and casualties of the Iraq war and the war in Afghanistan, started by Bush and Cheney and then do a comparison. The Iraq war was based on lies, made up by the neoconservatives, which include Cheney, Wolfowitz, perle, and Feith and then spread by the media.
In the period from 2000 to 2006, when Bush and Cheney were in total charge ( the Republicans had the majority in the House, Senate and Judiciary), I didn't see them do one thing about welfare or immigration. I did see a total collapse of the banking system and stock market, which has improved mightily since Obama took charge. All 3 auto makers and all the companies that rely on them, are still in business, thanks to Obama. Oh yeah and Bin Laden is dead. I also haven't seen another 9/11, which was an inside job.
Lol Baddog, you mental deficient. Bachmann's responsible, why because she said Hillary's aide has family in the Muslim Brotherhood? Hhahahahahahhaha.
Lefties, too funny.
Now, if this guy had been a Muslim killing Jews in Palestine, the Neo-communist media of the left would have called him a freedom fighter.
Ironic-and sick.
Only the Good die young. Gird up your loins and fight with all your might for the Good. Life is short. Love is eternal.
Shooting people he thought were Muslim, perhaps?
When is the last time anyone from the left walked into a meeting of KKK or white supremacists and opened fire? When is the last time anyone from the left walked into a meeting of white people who just LOOKED like white supremacist skinhead nazis and opened fire?
Because that's what this jackass did... genius boy must have figured that, because they look like Muslims to him, then they must be bad. This guy represents his white supremacy all right - at how stupid he made himself and his group look. In fact, this may show parallels in the Trayvon Martin incident, in that one lone moron decided who the bad guys were and took matters into his own hands.
We will never be able to regulate stupid, but we should be able to regulate guns and ammo just a bit more responsibly, otherwise we'll all be shooting at each other out our windows in 20-30 years for looking too much like people we simply hate.
@dsb that is where they ended up, before that they disempowered the people and attacked the individual till they depended on the government. Welfare?
Wooohoo, finally we can pin one on the Republicans! This is leg-tingling exciting!
@RalphH Oh, so stating facts makes me "Right Winged"?
@Brian35897
I love it when you right-wingers like to call "gang-bangers" left-wingers.... as if gangs have some kind of political affilations! I'm sure if you polled them on their political beliefs, they would fall in perfectly (less government, more guns, sexism, homophobia) with the Republicans. Even if they did chose a party, how much can you blame them, if they (felons) can't even VOTE?!?! That (lack of) logic is why the majority of people see Republican and Racist as synonymous.
Southern Poverty Law Center, You all can blame the REPUBLICANS for why the most impoverished people live in RED states, but the sheep just don't get it unless someone on the Talk Radio stations tells them about it, do I feel sorry for these MORONS, hell no, they pushed the Americans don't have jobs because of the illegal Mexicans and when the Mexicans left by the thousands NO one wanted their jobs because you had to actually work, and get of that couch, and you can't suck on Uncle Sam's Tit if you work, The Republicans offer everything that is BAD about America, and the sheep they just keep on following, GROW A BRAIN PEOPLE they don't give a damn about any of you, why because you ain't RICH.
I am suprised that George Stephanopolis did not have him as the head of the RNC!
I have no evidence to support this supposition; so I state up front that this is just an opinion.
My supposition is that our rhetoric, and our rising incivility to each other is propping-up our individual suspicions of those whom we perceive as 'not like us', and reinforcing our intolerances ( which are based in ignorance of just how much we are actually all the same, where it really counts ).
For most of us, this isn't a problem, other than what it does to our spirits, and how it diminishes us as individuals and citizens of the world. However, for some in our society -- those who are dwelling on the edge of reason and rational thought -- our uncivil rhetoric helps fuel their hatreds and their bigotry.
When one of these individuals on the edge acts out in violence against their perceived demons, there is no question that they, and they alone are responsible for their actions. But this doesn't mean our society should continue to escape our reassessment of how we can do better.
We all bear responsibility to change the underpinnings of hate and intolerance. As we each witness more and more frequent hateful statements on radio and television, and statements and acts of incivility in our society, .... we all bear some responsibility to confront it and to say to the offenders "That's not acceptable!"
These discussion threads are a prime example of this growing level of incivility, and intolerance and hate speech. One cannot express a civil or moderate thought here without being attacked, derided and insulted ( all in the shelter of on-line anonymity, of course ).
Our society does not have to be this way. This is a rather recent change in our social ethos. It has become what it is today because we have let it. We need to accept that we collectively bear responsibility for the incivility. And we need to collectively work to change it.
It's not going to change if we just ignore it. It's only going to change if we confront it, and if we 'own it'.
This is what too much Palin, Bachmann and FOX does to you! Add to it the brainwashing to kill by our military!
Disgruntled, self-loathing radical who despises others' happiness and success.
He sounds like the *perfect* Occupy Wall Streeter.
Ownedbyfew
You are either disillusioned, uneducated, or just trying to justify your world view. In Nazi nor Communist countries welfare never played a role. One political view is far right (Nazis) and the other is far left (Communism). Neither group ever instituted a social net to protect people. Yes, it was about power and control but welfare was never a component.
Welfare is a social net that progressive societies institute to help protect those less fortunate. It's called 'humanity'. Regardless of what your heros (Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, etc.) tell you, welfare does not does not control the populace. If it were as wonderful as you think far many more people would be on it. It provides substandard assistance to those who have no other avenues. Do some people abuse it? Yes. But then some people abuse the tax code to enrich themselves. Is one really more wrong than the other? Both are detrimental to society in general and both ae wrong. But allowing those less fortunate to starve or die harms our entire society even more.
Sam - get a grip, do you really want to tour the Democrat strongholds? Detroit, Chicago, Harvey, LA, Watts, Chicago, Gary, Calumet City, Dolton, River Oaks, Memphis, New Orleans, Saint Louis, ETC.ETC.
Unfortunately, you will be ignored Robert in Oregon. It is more satisfying to mock them! I know, some on the fringes may take it wrong...but I dont think we should really bear responsibility for them...they just are who they are. I think we need to accept the fact that bad things happen, and with more of us on the planet each and every day, more bad things will happen. Human nature cannot be contained, only masked. How is the political correctness working out?
I was referring to Welfare as a glaring example of disempowerment in our society. Uneducated ha ha ha ha lol lol. You are merely asserting your point of view without proving it. Dont sugarcoat your movement its like calling a dumb person frustrated. As though being dumb is temporary.
Too much Palin, Bachmann and Fox I think!
Beats the crap out of Republican strongholds like Bombingham Illibama.
Looks like a typical loser. Certainly doesn't look like a rocker. Probably can't play that guitar worth a sh!t either.
dsb
That's not acceptable. You can make your points without insults.
Arthur 66,
No, he sounds like the perfect Teabugger!
So, if he was in a rap band doing ghetto thug "gangsta" music, that would be acceptable?????????
This guy seems like he was right up Glenn Becks' alley. Was he ever a guesst on his show?
No...it just wouldn't be an article on this site hehe.
clwyd
So Palin, Bachmann, and the FOX NEWS NETWORK promote random acts of violence? You probably can't even see that your statement was pure ignorance can you.....
Either that or you are ignorant and proud of it. It's definitely one of the two!
I'm curious great, what has President Obama done that is worse than exterminating 6 million human beings?
Obama is a war criminal and he should be impeached.
What war crime has President Obama committed? I know what crimes against humanity the last administration committed, just not so sure about this one. You Republicans just keep trying to impeach Democrats don't you. You tried to impeach that last Democratic President and now you want to impeach this one. I hate to be the one to break this to you, but it's our country also.
Are you suffering from Senile Dementia? The US President signed a bill passed by Congress and that makes him a traitor? You're out there even by FOX standards...well maybe not too far by Fox standards.
Now I kind of assumed you were going to cite the Article and Chapter or Amendment making the drones unconstitutional? Or is that something else you pulled out of your anal orifice?
Hey, you people invented the war on terror. Judging from the nearly 5,000 Americans and over 100,000 Iraqis GW Bush killed in the Iraq, I think you might have a tough time with the Pakistan/Yemen thing.
Nice try slick. The President of the United States does not control the budget. Therefore he does not control the National Debt. Perhaps you should try learning something about the Constitution. I thought you Tea Baggers were big on the Constitution?
Speaking of lies...Obama has not changed they're status, he has only suspended deportation of those who came here as young children. Ronald Reagan (a Republican) is the only President in US history to grant amnesty to ILLEGAL aliens.
Come on, nut-up and tell us the truth. You don't like President Obama because you can't deal with the idea that we have a black President. It just tears you up doesn't it? What must really be tearing you up is that in a few years...you will be a part of a racial minority. It must be a real concern that you only have a limited number of years to pass as many apartheid laws as possible. Good start with the voter suppression laws by the way.
Has the media checked his political affiliation? He would've fit *perfectly* into the Robert Byrd wing of the Democrat Party.
Why is it that these innocent victims are always gunned down by republicans?
Jack Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Gabrielle Giffords, the Aurora Colorado theatre victims, now these poor, peaceful folks gunned down in Wisconsin?
Time to arm yourself against these crazy repub people.
The only apathy involved with Mr. Page is: "No desire to be educated, informed and brilliant through study, reading and schooling by the brilliant teachers in all the Universities around our country!"
Instead, Page decided to dwell with idiots and bigots whom are the least educated and most abnormal people in society! Their stupidity is a slap on the back to an idiot like Page! They are all apathetic because they can't make changes that are good, only bad and they don't care. As long as they feel better after using logic that shows them to be idiots (but they don't know it or care), NOW THAT'S TRUE APATHY!
At least the Nazi is out of our military. He would have loved torturing people in Iraq, glad he didn't make it there!
Devdoc12able,
And yet every person in the center or center left is a socialist, communist follower of Marx, Lenin, and Stalin, right? No racism while carrying a poster depicting the president as a New Guinea head hunting savage, right? Everyone to the left of Beck and Limbaugh is a libitard, right? Nothing was wrong, everything was rosy before Jan. 20 2009, right? The people of America and our government representatives made the mistake of adopting the no compromise no retreat philosophy once before. That time in history was called The US Civil War or the War between the States if you prefer. The extreme stance that FOX has taken with it's "Obama has never and can never do anything right" is just propaganda. So much so that Canada has stopped Fox from broadcasting there because it is not a news channel.
Blacks hanging from trees ... signs openly posted in parks reading "no niggggers or dogs allowed ... and they say it's bad now! I guess that depends on who you are ...........
It's the Lefties.
It's the Righties.
It's the mental patients.
It's the NRA.
It's the gun owners.
It's the Muslims.
It's the Christians.
It's the (insert your favorite scapegoat here).
The question is, what is YOUR role in this social madness?
sea40
All gang bangers arn't felons unless they have been imprisoned. Which means they can vote. We all know who they voted for. So if they did vote for Obama they must be lefties, unless they voted for him for some other reason than his political views, which would make THEM racists LOL!!!
Your (lack of) logic fails completely.
Also, I noticed your retort of my comment completely left out the fact of me mentioning that the college shooters and the guy that shot up the colorado theatre were lefties... Guess you can't argue with pure facts.
Pink Floyd - The Final Cut, is maybe the BEST anti-war album ever written.
Wonder if there is a correlation between this rise in cowardice and politics? I believe there is. Cowardice can have many faces. This new so called GOP fits the bill to a "t". This new so called GOP has wrought more damage to this country that can be measured the last decade. Financially and morally. When Mitch McConnell gave his agenda the first day of this administration, he simply RAMPED UP the dysfunction. And he knew he was doing it. All in the game of gaining power. COWARDS! Thanks repubs for being 'team players' after we voted for hope and change. Cowards, everyone of ya.
Looks to me like we're on our way to a revival. So much for progress.
Sea40
Generalizations suck don't they?
Maybe you lefties should stop doing it then...
Ol_Doc Todays lynching has no color barrier it is about ideas.
@ dsb #1.23
Yup, You are absolutely correct,
take your pick...Conservatives, Christians, Whites, Men, Capitalists (Wall Street Bankers, the Rich), foster hatred for that group and then instill fear in the population that 'your world is changing and these people are responsible'.
Our country is falling into this trap. God help us if we can't see and stop it before its too late.
Careful how you look into that mirror, you might just see yourself.
@Arthur66
Arthur, a brief review of your comments page reveals that you have posted variations of this same statement more than 20 times, in just the past 30 days. And there are more; I stopped counting at 20.
You know, as does anyone reading it, that this statement is dishonest, and that you are dissembling. So why are you posting an untruth over, and over, and over, and over ....?
That's not acceptable!
Andrew Wolf: I think it is intentional especially when MSNBC likes to instigate in the article:
They obviously want you to link destructive behavior with right-wing ideology. Forgetting the fact, that most of these mass murderers don't go to church and are more likely to be atheists or agnostics (one step above atheists).
But hey, this is MSNBC. They don't like to tell you the facts.
dumb farm boy - check out the mars mission photo of all the men celebrating and then tell me what you think!
Before casting blame determine how each side will deceive. Understand those deceptions and benefactors. Create rulebooks based on each opposing side. It is amazing the accuracy at which a direction is revealed. Do not give up your freedoms regardless of stimulus.
"Wooohoo, finally we can pin one on the Republicans! This is leg-tingling exciting!"
So you think 6 people getting killed is exciting? Get help. Also, I thought you got banned, Kornfed.
So 2 week later and here is another massacre.I saidd after the last shooting, that only VERY strict gun control can reduce the deaths .I said I would see people after the next massacre.. so here I am.Yes I know that its people that kill people not guns.THis gun just flew in by itself and killed all those people.!! In Colorado..the same. All those guns just flew into the theater by themselves.!!Only VERY strict gun control can reduce people dying in this way.The 2nd amenment says nothing about the rights of private citizens to have gns.If it does, then repeal the 2nd amendment.Put in a new one that all sheriffs like in the old west..all mayors, all governors.and all heads of all jurisdictions have the right to control guns in their area. This is a national plague and cancer. The NRA should be considered a terrorist organization, because they don´t want to move an inch. That is really sicko.Oh yes I forgot that its not guns that kill people. And its not cyanide that kills people Its only people drinking it. Let´s just put guns and cyanide on every corner with a note.." hello I dare you to pick me up!!"
Which most of us who have been alive long enough (or read) understand became the modern Republican party after the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was signed into law.
Agreed. There are many more militant, far left wing extremists that turn to violence in this country than there are far right wing groups.
The problem is, Great Job America, is that your kind doesn't seem to notice that the needle on your moral compass is rusted... so every direction you're facing is North. When you claim to be stating "facts", you're half right: nobody will deny that your compass is pointing North. But the extenuating circumstances of the broken compass are similar to the foundation of the Republican Party is resting it's entire future upon; like women's health rights, marriage equality and birth control.
Your party's needle is rusted solid, and though you may be truthful in stating as "fact" that it is indicating north, most of the time you and your colleagues are headed in the wrong direction because you never look at the components of modern conservatism.
That's why I bristle every time your party uses the word "truth".
The shooter lived on the dark side of the moon. Never did he realize that all of us are connected likes bricks in a wall. The reason why he killed innocent people will forever be debated here; so welcome to the machine. (OR!) He could have just been a nasty SOB - POS!
wtf is all this 'he's a tea bagger or republican, FOX news, Palin' crap?
You have no clue about any of this to say that...
This guy was a wack job who went nuts, like your average nut job postal worker.
Leave the preconceived notions at home.
Wow.
The NRA ENDORSES mass murder?
Heck of a job, NRA!
Yet another example of why white people aren't supreme at all... and dear sweet God, the cartoon character politics here are more annoying and stupid than a pack of meth-crazed hyenas.
What pisses me off most, other than the senseless loss of life of a group of innocents, is that this trash eating piece of skinhead garbage was a veteran. He could have at least shot himself in the head and saved the cops a bullet in taking out this trash. Nazi sympathizers are stupid animals wrapped up in ignorant bigotry, and bent on cowardly acts of moronic criminal activity. They are more un-american than a middle eastern terrorist, because they pretend to be one of us, but act like one of them.
The officer that shot him is a hero. The Sheikh (sp) that attempted to stop him with a knife was a hero. The piece of garbage that killed a group of unarmed and peaceful humans is no better than garbage sucking pieces of human trash like Hitler, Jeffrey Daumer, and that US soldier has killed more than a dozen Afghan civilians.
I'm a proud vet, and I would have volunteered to shoot all three of these animals myself.
He is clearly a Left-wing, Communist, Socialist, Atheist, Muslim, Kenyan, Mau-Mau, Fascist, Nazi, Public-Sector, Teacher, Pensioneer, unemployed, EU-loving, anti-Keynesian, Greenspanian, John Galt, Randian, Faux News-watching bastard.
Why should Pink Floyd be banned?
Chesty, I told you to go read the more intelligent Marine. It will increase your own intelligence by .001 percent.
That aside, my favorite right wing, neo-fascist, republikkkan murderer remains J.T. Ready. A true hero for the "take back our country" crowd.
DumbFarmBoy
You must be a Liberal, Atheist, Black, Woman, Communist fostering hatred...
Nice name for yourself, the first part fits perfectly.
How can these people be filled with so much ignorance and hate and still be convinced they are right? These people scare the crap out of me. White men in wife beater tee shirts with guns who are bigots, religious crazies, white supremacists , who are paranoid - this is who we should be afraid of.
@geo-1957883 #1.75
Not sure what you mean? I was simply pointing out the hypocrisy of DSB and how the left is demonizing the Christians (I am an Atheist btw) for their beliefs about homosexuality, or the class warfare being waged against the rich, etc.
Personally, all I saw (reference Mars Landing) was a fairly large waste of taxpayer dollars at a time when we need to focus on more relevant problems, like how to deal with these mentally unstable people, who think it necessary to kill innocent people just going about their daily lives.
Nazi's are all over the USofA and need to be watched and closely 8)
The worst scumbags on this planet are Nazi's we have a ton of these @!$%# ups in Southern California 8( they are a blight to society and usually love to sniff crank, preach hate and just hate everyone and everything.
This is exactly why it's good to be armed because one of these nice Nazi's can come up on you and your family and just go ape @!$%# on you.
2 to the chest and 1 to the head for all Nazi Scum
DK sang a great song called Nazi Punk's @!$%# Off 8) you tube it
DumbFarmBoy
Please explain exactly how I'm being a hypocrite? I was simply pointing out that throughout history the 'demonizing' of any one of many groups of minorities has been used as a tool to instill fear and hatred in a population. It has always been used as a means to gain power and as a stepping stone to an authoritarian government.
For me to be termed a 'hypocrite' I would have to speak out against the practice and yet practice it at the same time. You don't know me but you can look at my posting history. I do not practice any form of bigotry but have little sympathy for those who do.
Brian and others claiming Loughner and Holmes were "lefties" because they were registered Democrats - Uh no, they weren't. Loughner was a registered independent (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jared_Lee_Loughner) and Holmes never registered to vote(http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/breitbart-blogger-falsely-accuses-james-holmes-democrat-352595). But don't let the truth get in the way of your deranged views, and keep using Faux Noise for fact-checking!
Ol_Doc,
Which most of us who have been alive long enough (or read) understand became the modern Republican party after the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was signed into law.
This is simply not true. Bob Byrd, the former Klansman and Democrat, never did. Lifelong Democrat.
Neither did James Eastland, Al Gore Sr., J. William Fullbright, Theodore Bilbo, John Stennis, Richard Russell, et. al, et. al
Your memory does not serve you well!
Well educated thinker
They sure as HECK weren't conservative republicans no more than this extremist neo-Nazi was a conservative. If it stings to be mis-represented, then stop misrepresenting.
@ Brian35897 #1.90
Brian, if you cared to read the post, You would have seen that I was replying to another post and pointing out to that commentator, that it is both sides of the equation use this tactic.
I was replying to dsb @ #1.23 in which it was implied that only the "The right-wing politicians start the process by preaching hate and the media feeds it in the name of ratings and 'clicks'. If you can't see it, then you are either short-sighted, uneducated, or actually approve and are just as bigoted."
Yes I am an Atheist. and if you knew anything at all, especially about people who actually grow up in an agricultural environment, you would know that they are far more intelligent than their city born counter parts. ;-)
I accept your apology.
Children...let's try and remember that people were hurt...several were killed...murdered...in a place that they felt safe in...why don't you stop the usual political whining and take a breath...the families of the victims really could care less what and who caused all this because of what and who others believe in...disagree with...and whatever OTHER reason you all come up to talk @!$%# w/each other about.
Why must you always have to argue over this crap, instead of taking a moment to think about what happened? You wouldn't want someone doing this after someone you loved died, now would you?
People DIED...THAT is what is important here...
Well you sarcasm was a bit too well hidden....and as far as the atheist thing I was simple typing in the exact opposite labels you typed is to be humorous, for example I doubt you are a woman.
He must be a Republican because Democrats only want to gun down children on playgrounds wearing fur and then hand out pamphlets!
@ dsb #1.94
DumbFarmBoy
The hypocrisy came when you said. "The right-wing politicians start the process by preaching hate and the media feeds it in the name of ratings and 'clicks'.
I was pointing out that the left does the same, and for some reason the examples I listed weren't posted, but here they are again.
The demonizing of Christians for their beliefs about homosexuality, The class warfare being waged against the rich, etc. It doesn't have to be a "minority" for this tactic.
bigot: a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially : one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance
And are you sure you don't practice bigotry? You'll notice that this doesn't apply strictly to race or ethnicity, but can apply to political philosophy.
Have you listened to MSNBC? NPR? Day time TV? Just who is spewing what and to who?
Like I said, be careful how you look at the mirror. And I am not saying you were incorrect, I am saying you were incomplete, in your argument.
Random pennsylvanian
Wow did that one go right over your head! I havnt been banned recently. I'm sure its coming
Wow, you people are all over the place with this. This crazy person's inspiration was not political. The guy was a hard-core white supremacist who was inspired by his racist pals. He thought he would be a hero if he went and murdered a bunch of brown-skinned people.
There are people making some pretty wacky comments on both ends of the political spectrum here. Not least of which was the original poster's remark about banning Pink Floyd. As people have mentioned, "The Wall" did not promote any sort of racism and in fact portrayed it in a negative light. And even if that were not the case, ours is not a society that squelches free speech and does not silence dissident views.
"Pink Floyd should be banned..."
Many of you missed the point - if the Second Amendment is trashed because of gun violence then freedom of expression's potential to incite hate has to go too.
Cheetah- The 2nd amendment doesn't have to go, but changes absolutely need to be made. If the gun enthusiasts don't figure out what to do to bring gun violence down to a level where its no so common, then people will continue to want to write laws that will severely curtail your ability to possess fire arms. It will go on, and on.
The way I see it is, instead of pretending that all that's needed is for people to better protect themselves, you need to make the problem less of an issue. And no, if criminals didn't have such ready access to guns they wouldn't just find another way because a gun is a weapon that works from a distance.
You want to keep these people off your back, come up with a solution. That's all you need to do. It doesn't need to be a solution that affects your ability to purchase and own guns. Just one that helps to fix the problem.
Good intentions with bad consequences...this is how our current politically correct world was born. You cannot change human nature. Some of you are just going to have to realize that you cannot take all the dangers out of life.
...and here is an example of good intentions with bad consequences. Criminals do not follow laws. Guns are not going to magically disappear from the earth if you make them illegal.
Perhaps you would prefer we profile people and punish them for their potential to commit a crime...
Certainly not. I sincerely think people should keep their rights. I just think that those most interested in keeping firearms should start being a little creative instead of giving up and saying everyone should have to carry a side-arm to be safe. Many don't want to have to deal with them. There will always be criminals, but I assure you, there is a fair way to get a handle on gun violence without adversely affecting your rights. Its up to you to find that way.
Here is my suggestion...give up hope on creating a perfect Utopia. Stop glorifying these occurrences in the media. The later will never happen, so I live with it. You should try doing the same.
Well, the folks who are trying to affect gun laws wont let it rest. My suggestion stands. I don't think its acceptable to "live with it" when the level of gun violence is the way it is. Stolen weapons account for only 10% - 15% of the weapons used in crimes. Most of the others are "straw purchases" and corrupt dealers.
Of course cutting down on illegal gun sales is only half the battle.
People are going to keep on complaining forever and calling for stricter gun laws until the problem is fixed. So, keep guns freely available to those who can legally obtain them but fix the problem-- its in your best interest.
Pink Floyd is one of the best bands ever. Genius. Just because some crazy cretin decides to shape the message to fit his delusions doesn't make the band wrong. Look what people have done while quoting the bible.
The real enemy is white Conservatives.
Up yours you worthless liberal!!! You think you can smear me because I am not like you? What race are you? Are you white? If so you are obviously a bad person. . .i.E. liberal speak and it's worse if you are a conservative. Hmmm? And who said liberals are not racists? You and those who support your ideology are a joke. Intellectual dumb asses how's that for ad hominem? Hey strange thought, wouldn't it be amusing if you were black and a racist? I think so. Well it's time for you to turn your brain off and blindly follow Obama while chanting imotep, imotep, imotep!!!
Angry much Bill Collins? Some White Conservatives...not all. People can't just put all people in one category or another. There are worthless liberals and there are worthless conservatives. Bottom line is we are all people. This country was founded on religious freedom and some of the people in this country have forgotten that. Some of which are high political figures. It is frightening and yelling and cursing and killing isn't going to do anything but cause more pain. Live and let live.
No, not white Conservatives...white "Conned"servatives...too dumb to know that the Rupugnican party doesn't care about the country, only the bottom line (of the corporations that fill their coffers).
The real enemy is your anti-Christian anti-white postings.........................
There are good and bad people and ideas on both sides of the political spectrum. America's two-party system is broken. We need to take the good ideas from the left side, and the good ideas from the right side, and leave the rest behind. While I tend to lean more to the right, I am somewhat of a libertarian, so I support ideas like gay rights and women's rights. America's political system needs to be fixed.
No kj, there are no good republicans, the tea party has run them off.
I dunno about all white conservatives, but dipshytes like this one, certainly. Not to mention those who provide the wink-wink-nudge-nudge environmental cover for them.
Bill Collins swallowed the bait hook, line and sinker. Now, if it were a Muslim or a Sikh that walked into a Methodist Church and opened fire, he would be calling for each and everyone of them to be rounded up and deported and those that resist shot on the spot. Typical hypocritical tea bag moron. Fortunately, their days are numbered and after they lose in November, they'll shut their hateful pie holes.
@John - If you don't agree with anything that Republicans have to say, and blindly adhere to your party, you are part of America's political problem, and are not ready for a new party system that would simplify all of this nonsense.
No, the real enemies are black liberals....no, that's not right.....the real enemies are asian independents......no,no,no......the REAL enemies are latino liberals who practice social conservatism.
Dammit! You're all "enemies".
I have no idea why someone would spout off such drivel unless you simply wanted the world to call you an idiot..
The man was obviously broken and could no longer handle reality. Thank the officer's bravery and training for ending his miserable existence and try to muster some sympathy for the victims and their family members.
Another member of the Gingrich/Bachmann group looking for attention.
Punk and naziism are antitheses of each other. One is based around nonconformity and the other has conformity as its foundation.
Subhumans, GBH, Crass, DK....The Addicts!...
That's a pretty true statement, Dan. There is such a thing as "Nazi Punk", but it is hardly representative of the vast majority of the punk movement. On the contrary, the punk movement is heavily anti-fascist and anti-racism.
Doubtful this looney douche had the intelligence to understand ideology ... or music.
In addition to being a bigoted loser with a gun, turns out he was also a cliche from the 70s, when every teen boy had a "band".
"Of course after that it requires discipline, strict discipline to stay the course in our sick society."
This guy sounds like he started out a pretty nice guy, but then he somehow went off course and became a part of that "sick society" he was complaining about. And you are right about Nazism, DanTheManOfVegas, goose-stepping is pretty conformist and the emphasis in Nazism and fascism has always been conformity. Someone, I can't remember the author's name now, wrote a novel about that entitled "The Conformist".
Romney slowly licks Satan's balls and butt cheeks. Then, he slowly licks out the jism from Satan's anal hole as he kisses rich Republicans all over their balls and butt cheeks. He vomits in their mouths and pisses in their eyes. Republicans smile with pride, as they slowly jack off to pictures of the Jewish Holocaust, with Hitler making their balls swell large with cum.
Rooster
you are one sick person. Do your neighbors and law enforcement keep tabs on you. Did you follow the law and register your sex offender status. Do your family members keep their children away from you
Sick bastard. Go play in traffic
ok that was disturbing 8)
I agree. I think Roosterboy has gone off the deep end now. I've seen his posts before, but they were never like the one above. I don't know what has gotten into him. Drugs?
Don't hate me for telling the truth.
Did you have to tell it in such (porno)graphic terms?
My Goodness Roosterboy...did you go to church this past Sunday?..You need Jesus...LOL
No big surprise about roosterboy. Just another liberal is all I see.
Glad to see they dropped punk from the headline, apparently the mainstream media can be reasoned with ;)
It sounds a lot like the republican party t ome!
Stupid and rude: that is one hell of a combination, roosterboy.
I'm sure I could find many other reasons to hate you. But you asinine remarks, which have about as much to do with truth as a Penthouse Forum letter, will do for the present.
...and I'm unlikely to vote for Romney under any imaginable circumstance.
I've never understood how national socialism (nazi-ism) can be "right wing". It's anti-capitalist and anti-communist. It's for nationalism (which isn't right or left, both sides are nationalists who subscribe to the civil religion, ie waving the flag mindlessly, singing the hymn (anthem), honoring their martyrs (the fallen soldiers - whether the wars are justified or not), proudly taking the national blood oath to the state (the pledge), etc.), and for Third Way economics...aka fascist economics. Fascism is authoritarian, but so was state communism, and in places, state capitalism. So it can't be the authoritarianism or the economics that make it "right wing"...those are both shared by left and right.
It seems to me calling nazi-ism left or right is to totally misconstrue or understand left and right. It's centrism...hard centrism. And that's why populism and centrism are so dangerous...all fascist regimes are born in populist movements.
Socialism is a cross between capitalism and communism, and Marx mistakenly thought it would lead to communism everytime...he also mistakenly thought an authoritarian state would lead to anarchism (stateless voluntary society). He over estimated people's like of voluntary association (a tenant of anarchism), and over estimated his prowess in economics. Turns out, centrally commaned and con trolled economies fail more than markets do. So no way are the economics of nazi-ism able to be blamed on the left or right...unless you say left equated to socialism too, then of course national socialism would be left, not right.
Nationalism is not the same as patriotism (one is the love and blind allegience to the state in a pseudo-religious way, whereas the other is a love of your fellow countrymen, which can conflict with the interests of the state and it's brainwashing religion of nationalism). It's neither left nor right. In America "right" means wanting less government, which logically means less authoritarianism. You can argue the advent of the religious "right" is really a pull to the left (or toward authoritarianism), not a true aspect of pure right philosophy (or classical liberalism, aka today libertarianism). Insofar as the right really means less of a state, it's impossible for nationalism on their part to lead to authoritarianism (although it's still brainwashing nonsense). On the left's behalf, they love more government, which they fail to see leads logically to more authoritarianism. But they don't want nationalism to blind people to the ills of war (like libertarians), and only 'rah-rah' wave the flag in areas of social welfare and sports. So again we come to a point where we have to ask "who is more authoritarian, left or right?" It's going to be the left, clearly. They want more regulations, taxes, and rules about what you can and cannot eat, etc. They don't feel that way about drugs however (like libertarians).
You'll notice the least nationalist and socialist group are libertarians and classical liberals...the original "right" wing. As the right today moved more and more toward nationalism and Keynesianism (a form of Third Way economics, or if you like, "mixed economics"), they became closer to the "left". As the left embraced progressivism (ironically where the "police the world" foreign policy originated they now agree with libertarians is bad) and moved away from their roots, they became less left and more "right". Now the left and right are more similar than dissimilar, despite common perception bias. We think there is some great divide in the two wings...but really they are both Keynesians (fascist economics), and both authoritarian (just one opposite issues; one on war and legislating morality, the other on regulating the economy and making laws for every social ill). Today you can't find even as many liberals as a percentage of their wing as you can libertarians who want to fully end the drug war and bring our troops home. I've more than once had some so-called lefty tell me they need troops overseas everywhere, and that being in Afghanistan 10 years later is for "defense". I've had them say "legalize pot, but tax the crap out of it, and don't legalize other drugs".
That doesn't seem very left does it? The rightys don't seem very right anymore, do they? I mean "Mr. Conservative" Barry Goldwater said abortion was not a conservative issue, gays should have rights, and the religious right had no business in the wing of small government. He was rather libertarian really...and he's considered the conservative of all conservatives! Not by today's definition though, that's for sure....
So how exactly is national socialism (nazi-ism) right wing? It's not. And it's not left wing either. But both wings today are appraoching each other from opposite ends and points of view toward a facist end result. It will take one huge wave of populism for this whole thing to break out into full-on fascism. We have already laid the ground work for the authoritarianism with the PATRIOT Act, the NDAA, GITMO, the TSA, drone surveillance, etc.
So what wing is nazi-ism? it's the centrist wing. Hard center. And all of you guys are running head-long for it without realizing it, all the while telling yourselves you're soooo divided from the other side. Well that's just BS. You two wings are now closer than ever in ideology (of control), just on different issues.
This is why I'm libertarian...anti-authoritarianism, anti-nationalism, pro-patriotism (for what it REALLY originally meant), anti-mixed economics, anti-state (capitalism or socialism) economics, and pro-liberty (whether you want one economics or another is irrelevant to us). We're the group farthest from today's "left" or "right", and farthest from nazi-ism for that matter. People try and fit us into the left vs right false paradigm, but it never works. You can call us left on social issues (as contrarian pissed off right wingers do when we debate them), and right on economics (like contrarian pissed off left wingers do when we debate them). We don't fit neatly into your little boxes and wings. We bridge the gap between the two wings while never compromising anything that would lead us to centrism. We simply make the left/right false dilemma seem obsolete and so apparently juvenile.
It's time for you guys to take a good hard look at this guy...because minus the shooting up of a temple and the racism, he's a lot morel ike most of you than you'd be willing to admit, and lot less like myself and other people like me.
Nazi-ism; left or right wing? It's both...and it's neither. Classical liberalism and libertarianism are completely the opposite to it. Today's progressivism and neoconservatism are it's cousins.
Nicely done, well thought out, researched and written in an easily understood manner. Correct also.
roosterboy is one strange and ugly bastard. Does your mother know about your foul language. Maybe you were raised by the dark side and that is where you will return.
Page showed himself to be a pitiful excuse for a human being. What a dillusional and mentally deficent creep this loser truly was.
Condolences to the victims loved ones....
"...was based on trying to figure out what it would take to actually accomplish positive results in society..."
He also thought that shooting a bunch of innocent people would be the answer.
.........and the terminated miscreant probably flew a yellow flag with a hacked up snake and the words: "Don't Tread On Me" on it.........
Gee? ....I wonder who else flies that flag?
ProIndividual,
Maybe this quote on right wing politics from WikiPedia will help answer your question about why Nazism is classified as right wing:
"In politics, the Right, right-wing, and rightist have been defined as acceptance or support of social hierarchy. Inequality is viewed by the Right as either inevitable, natural, normal, or desirable, whether it arises through traditional social differences or from competition in market economies. There is a range in level of right-wing positions. The politics of the centre-right involve the acceptance of a degree of hierarchy in society based on the idea that inferior quality of behaviour will lead people to inferior status positions, but claims that people can leave inferior status positions and raise themselves by changing their choices of behaviour. The far-right involves support of strong or complete social hierarchy in society, and supports supremacy of certain individuals or groups deemed to be innately superior who are to be more valued than those deemed to be innately inferior."
"The political terms Right and Left were coined during the 18th century, resulting from the French Revolution (1789–99), and referred to where politicians sat in the French parliament; those who sat to the right of the chair of the parliamentary president were broadly supportive of the institutions of the monarchist Ancien Régime. In France, the original Right comprised those politicians supporting hierarchy, tradition, and clericalism. The Right wing invoked natural law and divine law to explain the normality of social inequalities.[1] The use of the expression le droit (the right) became prominent in France after the restoration of the monarchy in 1815, when le droir was applied to describe the Ultra-royalists."
"In English-speaking countries it was not until the 20th century that the terms "right" and "left" were generally applied to their own politics. The meaning of right-wing thus "varies across societies, historical epochs, and political systems and ideologies. Although the term originally designated traditional conservatives and reactionaries, the usage of “right-wing” was extended to describe liberal conservatives, classical liberals, libertarian conservatives, Christian democrats, and types of nationalists."
Nazism was a form of institutionalized racism more than it was an economic system or a form of government. So you can see how it would be classified as not only right wing, but far right. "The far-right involves support of strong or complete social hierarchy in society, and supports supremacy of certain individuals or groups deemed to be innately superior who are to be more valued than those deemed to be innately inferior." Under Nazism the Germans were the "Master Race", and all others were inferior to them.
Waldo~ many have flown it to give you the America you live in.
Don't tread on Me ...either
They all sound the same. I went to a party once, not knowing the person who was throwing it that well and ended up in the middle of a skinhead motorcycle bash. They all sounded exactly like this guy. It doesn't sound like any of them are capable of having an original thought... or completely understanding the concept that they are preaching.
Not to mention, their thought pattern makes no sense at all. They are superior because of something that they had absolutely no control over... the color of their skin. Truly superior people gain their status through accomplishment. Joining a club that spews hate and intolerance isn't an accomplishment... gangs in general are for people who would use violence rather than intellect or hard work to accomplish their "superiority". Lazy feeble minded fools.
@ American Citizen
You mean it was the Tea Party who saved us all?........huh?
I was under the impression it was people like my father and the fathers of other war vets who suffered and/or died for their country. Gee....I had absolutely no idea that the Tea Party had raised themselves to that prominence by flying the right kind of flag for themselves.
I've been around for almost 61 years junior, and I know 'self promoters' when I see them. All wrapped in the American flag and singing songs of salvation for the masses.........Jesus!...I just described a maniac from pre-World War 2 Germany and his band of goose steppers. Now THAT's scarey!
Thanks, Where's Waldo - well said. I'm an old white southern guy, slightly older than you, so old that while I was in Viet Nam Romney was hiding from the draft in France. Yeah, I get damn tired of these super-patriots who'd piss their pants rather than fight for our country. Oops, sorry, that was Ted Nugent.
i used to be a band roadie and seen this guys band, its was more grunge than punk, and not very "neo-nazi". Then again, when a band is up on stage, they are usually different people than when you actually have a chance to meet them. this goes the same for any one in the entertainment biz.
giving this guy a label insults people who should be insulted. This guys BAND wasnt in on this shooting, and guessing they hadnt a clue he was going to do it. IF was a in a neo-nazi type group, he no longer IS, and thus no mention of his "group" causing ANY KIND of problems.
what i do see is a bunch of crazy people who like to add comments THEY feel are either correct, or in some depths of their shallow mind making such comments give them a feeling of "false justification".
i see people who blame every person who might have or still is of something get the rag due to one, or a very very very small number of people get lumped into the same group. Put the blame where it belongs, on the moron(s) who pulled the trigger or what ever you frivilous complaint entails. Failure to accept there is more than 1 few people on this planet other than YOU, does not classify putting every group member as being the same, no matter the group. Is every preist a gay pedophile? not even close.... every neo-nazi member a killer? nope. some people here dwell on too much of the little things, or only what bennifits them personally, other than thinking, gee... maybe some one might feel differently? ignored.
the old saying "never judge a book by its cover", has bloomed into "never judge a story written by the media".
Waldo, American Citizen is actually quite correct in his observance. The Gadsden Flag, named after Col. Gadsden, was first flown on the flag ship of the nascent colonial navy by its first commander, Commodore Esek Hopkins.
The fact that modern political groups have adopted it does not invalidate what it meant during the revolutionary war, long before your father's no doubt honorable service.
The flag is both a piece of American history, and a symbol of Revelutionary War patriots willingness to fight and die our freedm.
American Citizen is 100% correct.
I know as much about Gadsden Flag as anyone else dman. It's not the flag, it's the idiots who wrap themselves in it and pretend to be America's saviors......It's the people, not the flag. That's what it has always been about.
Good for you, Waldo, then you also know that a) it was flown by those who fought for both your freedom and mine (just as American Citizen claims) and b) it did not feature a hacked up snake with the words, "Don't tread on me". "
The yellow Gadsden Flag featured a coiling serpent, with the words you find so objectionable. The hacked up snake was displayed on a cartoon image designed by Ben Franklin, and the words below it were, "Join or Die.".
Of which image were you speaking in your muddled post?
I would have thought truth was also important.
What the hell is happening ? The ALLEGED gunman? He is NOT alleged... he is actual and he is dead.
He should have went by Jack Oph, instead of Jack Boot. I wonder if Fred Phelps will picket his funeral ? When these neo-nazi bands throw a party is it called a rave or a 'Rove ''?
It doesn't take an expert to figure out that someone who goes in and shoots unarmed people is "extremeist".
Yeah, the media's sensitivity to not "convicting" people in the news is just ridiculous. No "alleged" about it, a cop witnessed him shooting people!!
More accurate to say that the news media has "alleged" skills at reporting stuff.
Josh- yes, I noticed that too. "Alleged"...... Come on. He was shot dead while firing at a cop, while shooting up the place. There is absolutely no doubt he is the guy. AND, since he is dead I don't believe anyone will be offended if he is in fact labeled as the guilty party , without a trial. Last I checked, we did not put dead bodies on trial. He is "THE GUNMAN" , Well, was the gunman .......no "alleging" anything.
Yes J Burk, and thank you to the heroes of the local PD who risked their lives making him that way. Dead as a door nail seems a good outcome for this sociopath.
JOSH BROGAN - Unfortunately, the term "alleged shooter" or "alleged gunman," are the newspaper disclaimers in case of liability issues, even when the facts indicate otherwise... Apparently, news agencies are wrapped too tightly in the fear of offending anyone or any group.
I do have an issue with the reporting. Somewhere there was mention of the shooter being discharged from the Army due to alcohol related issues. Did someone get a look at the shooter's DD214 - the discharge papers? It would be interesting to see the exact wording. Personally, I believe that anyhone who cannot complete an enlistment in the U.S. military with an Honorable Discharge is a waste as a human being.
There is a basic bottom line to this matter. The shooter was a coward. The shooter went after targets that could not defend themselves. That implies the shooter was a real loser in life, and, more likely than not, the shooter was a genuine moron.
I remain hopeful that all news media and people making comments will stop using the shooter's name. There is no reason to give his name any more energy.
Oh, by the way, the skinhead groups need to upgrade their standards just a bit, to keep a worthless piece of manure like this shooter from joining their groups.
I am very glad the police removed this wart from the anus of life.
Great, another pathetic loser with his big, bad, beautiful gun which will make it all better.
He was a Psychopath. Nothing more to this story. It's not about skin heads, guns or anything else. This one man alone, for whatever reason, flipped his shiiit and killed a group of people that he hung his hate on.
And you are in denial.
There is a lot more to say, centered around how does a right wing nut job have a gun capable of wiping out so many people? Yes sir, plenty to say.
"Great, another pathetic loser with his big, bad, beautiful gun which will make it all better."
And yet you are calling for a ban on guns..................and the only thing that took out this pathetic loser was? Besides, I wouldn't call a 9mm a big or bad gun........but hey what ever floats your boat wor.
what took him out were the police.
punisher....do you think the answer to the drug problem is more drugs?
He bought the gun legally and there was nothing in his past that would make us think he would do something like this. NOTTTTTTTTT one look at this guy should bring up red flags. But no our dear Republicans would say that it would be profiling to look into these hate groups. Remember Republican philosophy do away with laws and rules and don't bring forward any new laws to protect the people. They will take care of themselves. They are the first ones crying for new laws when something happens to them
Kevin D-289686
Do you think oranges taste like apples?
lynseypug
To wor its the guns fault, not the perp, just following his logic. But if you like to play that game too, well, cops didn't bum rush him now did they?
"do you think the answer to the drug problem is more drugs"...only when there is not enough
Kevin
Drugs are pleasurable and addictive, guns are a tool, not the same. People kill other people EVERY SINGLE DAY without guns. They will continue to do so even if you outlaw guns. Not to mention citizens will then be unarmed and the criminal WILL REMAIN ARMED!!! Why can't you people see this simple truth?
Why is it you people argue, "gun control, gun control, gun control" whenever a crazy shoots up some people, but could care less that the moron gangbangers (who are all lefties) exist in the tens of thousands and shoot up people every single day. All are criminals and own guns illegally yet still have them and will always have them.
Do more laws even slow drugs down?
We're pretty soft on hardened criminals.
I hope that badly wounded cop managed to shoot this @!$%# in the nuts, and I hope the bastard bled out very slowly and painfully, while consciously viewing pieces of his own junk strewn about the area. But the prick was probably shot in the head and likely was over before he could suffer. Dammit.
Where's Ted Nugent when you need him?
For those that don't know,, Nugent is a bad shot, likes to wound animals then blame it on anything but his poor shot.
Sure. So the 9/11 hijackers were just a group of psychopaths too, and I bet you didn't hate any Muslim after that, did you? Who the f--k are you trying to fool? This lone, crazy gunman theory isn't going to work. Chances are this guy has been indoctrinated in hate his entire life. Someone needs to own up to this whether it be his parents or the hate groups he was associated with. This incident isn't going to be amputated like a finger or a toe would be. Treat like any other terrorist act and go after the group that supports this kind of behavior.
Nugent is a punk that talks tough but opted out of serving his country by smearing his own crap all over himself.
Brian,
It's a lot more difficult to defend yourself against a gun than it is against, say, a knife. Sure, people kill people everyday, but guns just make killing someone easier (and usually result in a greater death toll). I'd rather nobody have guns and risk having to defend myself against someone trying to kill me with a knife or a wooden plank than allow some people to have guns and risk having to try and dodge a bullet.
Umbraobscura
I will be the first person to give up my guns with a smile on my face AFTER it is GUARANTEED and PROVEN that every criminal in this damn country has not only had their firearms confiscated and destroyed but it has been made PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE for them to ever get their hands on one again.
If this can't happen then you can't have my guns! You have fun being a victim because you don't allow yourself to protect yourself, I will continue to enjoy my sense of security and self-preservation for me and my family.
Charger12: Don't you mean Democrats? Why is it that when Republicans do it, it is called racial profiling but when democrats do it, you are simply protecting the law?
Such Hypocrisy!
tonybeeerm
All hate groups suck, but comparing this guys actions to what the Taliban did is quite silly. The 9/11 attacks were well thought out, complex, and trained for attacks that killed THOUSANDS. Not a random act of violence.
Their weapons of choice were two large jet planes and box cutters, no guns anywhere.
Jet planes and box cutters should now be made illegal....
No haterofstupid...there's a great deal more to this story. If he was just a wack job with no political agenda you might be right. It could perhaps be chalked up to "off his meds" / "slipped thru the cracks". Not in this case.
This guys was a Neo-Nazi. He espoused white supremacy views. I'm sure you are aware that these folks don't have warm and fuzzy feelings toward minorities. Before he was identified as a Nazi I though he might have been a right-wing fanatic and mistook these Sikhs for Muslims, but now I'm not so sure. I'm sure Nazis are pretty much equal opportunity haters and would be perfectly happy to kill anyone darker than themselves. If you add to that the alignment of Nazis, KKK and the neo-conservative movement along with voter suppression laws, you might be able to see the concern. If you don't then I guess I'm wasting my breath although I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who sees this.
When you outlaw guns do you think the criminals will turn all their firearms in? Because outlawing guns will bring about exactly what you just stated you fear. Some people will have guns(criminals) and some people won't(law abiding citizens). I think the blood bath that would result from some loose cannon with a couple of $10 machetes would turn your stomach just as much as the current topic of discussion.
No brian, you comment is quite silly. The Taliban did not perpetrate 9/11, Al-Qaeda did. Boy, ya hire a guy to get bin Laden for ya and as soon as he does...you forget.
That or another attempt at rewriting history.
hey AreuTeaTarded?, you ve got problems..... you should seek mental help. your probably the next crazy nut.
God will you guys give it a rest? Damn! Probably 90% of Democrats have absolutely no desire to ban private ownership of guns. Probably 75% of us own at least one gun...I say again...we're not coming for your damn guns!!!
Quite a few of us don't see the need for a 100 round drum magazine however. The only purpose I can see would be to lay down suppressive fire if someone breaks into you house...and odds are that you accidentally kill everyone in your house. If you need to lay down suppressive fire for a home break-in, you're better off calling for an air strike.
Ol_Doc
Yeah I got the name of the terrorist organisation wrong but the point still stands...
And I hired NOONE to get Bin Laden for me, I ws the guy that was hired for 15 years and 3 combat tours. I just had a brain short circuit, guess you are perfect though and never get those.
I'm late on this, but Brian, you're statement earlier about people talking about gun control after a crazy person shoots up some people is hilarious. Of course that is when people talk about gun control....I'm sorry to hear you have a brain short circuit...even sorrier you have guns.
Brian - That's not all you got wrong. See above at 1.95. What a tool.
Actually haterofstupid, I' think this one's probably more of a sociopath than a psychopath.
Oh yeah (un)Educated Thinker
See above at 1.97. What a tool
Jack Dulouz
What have I ever done to make people worried about my guns? Have I committed any crimes? No. Am I a member of a hate group? No. Am I mentally unstable and unable to control my rage? No. Am I a responsible citizen that works every day and pays his taxes? Yes. Do I have to agree with everyone's opinions to be allowed to own a firearm? Thankfully and may it forever be HELL NO!
Frankly you are against ANYONE owning a gun, starting with the responsible citizens of this nation because everyone damn well knows the criminals arn't giving them up.
Also, this is the USA right? Freedom of thought and expression? Anytime anyone shoots anyone the anti-gun protesters will start shouting and it's the ONLY time they shout in here so this is the ONLY time you will also see arguments against gun control. Your comments are hilarious.
Gun murders are down, and have been for years. They keep right on falling. Meanwhile people who don't bother to look up the facts that population has risen, gun sales have risen, and permits issued to carry guns have risen, while gun murders have DECREASED, both per capita and in total, are calling for more gun control and gun bans.
Emotional intuition loses to deductive logic and reason everytime...or should.
Clearly, the correlation is in favor of the gun rights argument. You can't have all those stats rise while gun murders fall, and call that a correlation between more guns and more gun murders. Actually, the more guns we've gotten in our society the less crime overall, including violent crime (and especially gun murders). And yet, the anti-gun crowd still makes their nonsensical arguments with no regard to that correlation, assuming the correlation must be the opposite of what it really is.
Study game theory mathematics folks..discover why the higher deterent factors associated with higher levels of weapons technologies (like fists vs knives, knives vs guns, guns vs tanks, tanks vs nukes) leads directly and inevitably to a lower probability of violent outcomes during conflicts.
You do realize mutually assured destruction from two nuke-capable nations in a dispute has never led to a "Hot War", only "cold Wars", right? Why do you think that might be? It's called 'mutually assured destruction', and it's the result of game theory. That deterent has saved millions of lives over the last half centruy. The more countries that get nukes, the less likely sustained Hot Wars will occur.
The same logic applies to guns (in fact it applies to all levels of weapons technology). The higher the deterent factor in an equation, the lower the probability of violent outcomes. Sure, when those outcomes occur they maim and kill...but they occur so rarely in comparison to lower levels of weapon technology that it's a NET GAIN of life. It's not arguable..it's a mathematical fact (both in theory, and in the proven stats in society you can find over at the CDC and DOJ).
Sorry to derail your anti-gun circle jerk...carry on uninformed, mob mentality lovers...
"It's not about skin heads, guns or anything else."
It IS about guns. What's it going to take? How many innocent, peaceful people have to be SHOT by a GUN for people to realize this? More guns = less violence like more cars = less traffic.
Right you are Ol Doc.....I own guns, and every person in my family owns guns...Republican and Democrat, men and women alike. I don't want to take anyones guns away from them, and I don't want anyone to take mine either..(they put food on the table....) So much of this is hype and rumor milling.
But as an involved, politically active Democrat..I can tell everyone that Pres. Obama does NOT want to take our guns....for the very reason the constitutional amendment was inscribed for....national defense.
You can bet, if we are ever invaded..the political lines will disappear, and we will be shoulder to shoulder defending our country....too bad some folks don't understand that.
Idiots like this shooter don't make the rest of us gun owners look bad....just the hate group that spawned him.
No surprises. I see it in our rhetoric and our politics.
So true. A sizable percentage of the public believe "wars keep us safe". It's actually the opposite, terrorism is created, (except when they're on "our" side we call them freedom fighters). Here's one subject Ron Paul was absolutely accurate about. Too bad the Republicans didn't go for him as opposed to Mitt "Can't wait to bomb Iran and start WWIII" Romney.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKfuS6gfxPY
But the bulk of the public are imbeciles and just because they have a gun, possibly a uniform and definitely seething rage does not make them right or anything other than a monster. Especially in this case. Sikhs are the opposite of terrorists everywhere they live, largely a peaceful people who keep to themselves and respect human life. They're the only religion that ALWAYS feeds anyone who comes to them for food. Stupid people and weapons don't mix. But they do have them. And they vote. The evil empire continues to grow and breed countless numbers of evil idiots.
Zflynn- While the Sikhs are generally nice people they have fought in many wars.
The fact that this idiot even wore a uniform does not even belong in this story he was DISHONORABLY DISCHARGED in 1998, 14 years ago, this had nothing to do with his time in the military.
You are correct that some stupid people own guns however more stupid people own cars and have children, we should work on banning that first.
The caption under the picture is wrong. It is Oak CREEK WI not Oak Park (that is in IL) Next time proof-read the articles before you post them. From A Resident of Oak Creek WI
the sikhs have never done anything to bring this upon themselves . just another crazy person , guess the only thing good is that he only had a gun instead of a massive truck bomb or some type of chemical weapon .
Miserable people hate enthusiasm.
What does it say when a black President is elected, that hate groups expand, gun sales go up? That there are a lot of scared small minded, white boys in fear of what the end of the white race? That 43 of the last President's have been white, but now they are scared?
Hate and ignorance run these groups, and many of them are terrorist's and should be arrested and sent to git-mo!
One thing I don't understand is that, if they are so scared of losing their whiteness per se. Why do they love to get tans?..........................baffling isn't it.
I think gun sales go up when government says they want to ban or regulate them. It happens when the President is white also.
hummingbird....have you been a racist your whole life or did your pappy teach it to you?.....
There has been no talk of banning guns, just people saying that's what they want to do.
I agree DEN
In fact I'm going to go buy a half dozen guns today to make sure I have my protection before the control guns, control speach, control thoughts, control life, control freedom freaks win out.
Why the hell can't we rid our country of these scumbags, nazis need to die !!
Under Obama there has been exactly one (and only one) action relating to gun control. Obama signed an executive order allowing people to carry firearms in National Parks. So anyone rushing to buy guns because of some threat that the government under Obama is trying to take guns away is completely delusional. Right-wing capacity to believe lies is truly amazing.
Hummbird,
I'm white and I voted for Obama. I'll vote for him again, over Nitwitt Romney. He wouldn't have made it to the Whitehouse the first time without the majority of the vote, which included a majority of white voters.
And, btw, I own several guns. But, I don't worry about the whiteness of the Whitehouse. I worry about the freedom of our country and it's citizens (hence my 20+ years of active duty). Check your history. Anytime the citizens are disarmed by their government, the country becomes a police state and the citizens loose all of their freedoms. I don't believe the president has the power to strip the citizens of their arms, even if he truly wanted to.
And I guess you prove that bigotry and race hatred comes in all colors.
Jesus H. Christ and his brother Dwayne -- one more fat, ugly loser mistakenly shoots up a church that ain't got no Muslims, he kills six people, and yet so many of you can only rattle on about the horror of someone comin' to git yer guns?!?
See Old Doc's above comment. Nobody wants to take your damn guns. Nobody even thinks that's realistic. HIs statistical estimate is either right or too modest: Probably more than 75% of "liberals" own guns, or at least have learned how to fire one.
But the United States has a gun control problem, just the way somebody dying of cirrhosis of the liver has a drinking problem.
There isn't any easy solution that snaps neatly into one diehard ideology. However, could you blowholes allow at least a moment of respect for the dead -- for all the dead due to random, meathead gun violence -- instead of screaming about your f'in' popgun collections? Pathetic.
Melissa
It is a ridiculous action but one that has been programmed into us because pro-gun control ALWAYS guns for the guns every single time this happens. Its no different than being a soldier in a trench hearing an incoming shell and cringing in preparation for the pain.
Also every pro-gun response was definately in response to someone already politicising this situation. Don't want people screaming "don't take my guns" you should aim your retorts towards the people that first screamed "we should take all guns".
Anyone who wants people in GITMO is anti-patriotic, and totally a fascist.
Amazing the similarities between the OP and those he whines about.
BTW, gun sales went up everytime a Democratic President took office, not just the half black (and half white) one. It's in expectation of increased gun control. And they go up in every recession too. And after every sensationist news story about mass shootings too.
Where are the daily reports of the fact gun murders are down year after year for a long time now, while gun sales and gun permits are up? How about the stories of the hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of crimes prevented by guns? These are all known facts. We know statistically guns are a net gain to life, not a net loss...yet no stories.
Hmmmmm.
the liberal controlled press leaves out many stories
Wow. Another Teabagging Christian gone wild!
No, this guy's a Nazi. He's one of yours.
Ah! Another history revisionist who has drank the kool aid and convinced themselves that the left consists of both communists and Nazis. Sorry, but the extreme right wing is exactly where Nazism sits. Try to learn some actual history and turn off the Faux News for a change.
This guy is not a real Christian, even if he claims he is.
@Vern... lest you forget, the Nazis didn't like 'liberals' or 'atheists' or 'communists' or 'socialists.' All of these groups also ended up in concentration camps. Ask my grandparents about their stays, simply because of political and/or religious (or lack thereof) views.
The Nazis were socialists. Not saying that liberals are Nazis, just pointing that out.
Adolf Hitler and other proponents officially portrayed Nazism as being neither left- nor right-wing, but syncretic.
Quoted from From Wikipedia
There is not a designation for these nut balls..
Look up the definition of fascism. Fits the far right nut jobs to a tee.
Wow!! Way to show the world what liberals really are all about. There were innocent people murdered by a crazy person.
And what do you get from the liberals on here.??? They are linking him to the Tea Party and Conservatives.
Nice! People died and you are making it a political thing. At least it is out there for all to see just how moronic you all are!!
Far Left Nazi circa Socialist , Far right Nazi circa Eugenicist. You have alot in common.
Look. I'm not a Christian, but I think that's a little far-fetched to try this guilt by association thing here. I mean, does this guy look like he's a deacon in a baptist church?
GayAtheistMarine, don't remember reading any thing about this guy being a Christian. He was in a punk bad and just like you served in the military. Not not coming down on the military just pointing out how absurd you sound.
The Nazis were not socialists. They killed socialists. Just because it's in it's name (National Socialist Workers Party) allows the brain dead who don't read to believe a fantasy, Glenn Beck style.
It's very rare that these tiny Nazi groups ever actually do anything. This shooting has to be their biggest crime in 30 years or something.
The KKK and Aryan Youth really can't even fill talk show guest requests anymore, their numbers are so small.
Kind of a novelty act.
So they're not so bad, right Chesty? Okay....
They are bad, very bad, but I think what Chesty is getting at, is that this is an isolated incident, these events are not common, and there is no reason for every person in the country to freak out.
I bet the 6 dead people would argue that "novelty " is a sickly perverse word to describe the murder of six innocent people.
Could this moron have NOT KNOWN that sikhs are NOT MUSLIM?
Let's hear it for all the republicans who pour gas on the fires of irrationality with their birther, closet muslim, socialist, communist rumor mongering to their base of barely above shoe size IQs. And this is the result -- more gun violence aimed at the peaceful.
Far Left Nazi circa Socialist , Far right Nazi circa Eugenicist. You have a lot in common.
Of all the ignorant post here you take the cake. You are as ignorant as a box of hair.
I've read a few of Chesty's post before. His formula seems to be that if they're white, no or little outrage, if their anything but white, MAJOR OUTRAGE.
You don't have to be a sheet wearing, cross burning bigot to be racist, just have an irrational (or weakly rational) fear of "different people". Some people have a tinge of racism and don't even realize it.
Jeff S - It is entirely possible he KNEW that Sikh's are not Muslims. Did it ever cross you mind or anyone else's , that he may have actually had some sort of a hard on for the Sikh's??????
Chesty
It's very rare that these tiny Nazi groups ever actually do anything. This shooting has to be their biggest crime in 30 years or something.
The KKK and Aryan Youth really can't even fill talk show guest requests anymore, their numbers are so small.
Kind of a novelty act.
So, which group, do you belong to?
MEH!
So where are all the tards that were saying this dirtball was a "registered Democrat"? I guess that's all you can expect when you get your news from Drudge, The Blaze, Faux....
Holes and Lougner were registered Democrats. This guys info has been sealed for some reason. Odd that they note nothing about employment since 1998 but sources in Illinois said he had been an autoworker and union member.
Yeah, okay. Must be some Democratic conspiricy. Right. Sealed, as in all of those Obama documents that were "sealed"? LMFAO. "Sources" tell me that some auto workers and union members are also Republican voters...from my time when I was working in a UAW shop.
Holmes and Loughner are f all crazy, this guy was just a stupid racist. The cosmic all rendered judgement. And apparently decided only one was too stupid to live........
Usually crazy people like Loughner and the Aurora shooter are apolitical, or twist real political ideologies. They may be registered Democrats or Republicans, but they probably do not really adhere to their party's values, that party simply matches a few of their own values.
Now this guy is probably more coherent than that, but that is not a reason to group all Republicans in the same category as him. He is an extremist; he is to right-wingers what suicide-bombers are to common Muslims.
And I do mean stupid. There is no smart justification for White Power Racism. If anything, actual genetic proof is tending to prove that they are the inferior race among the Earth race groups......
Custom1911, they are hanging out with all the people that said it was a Christian.
NC open heart
Spoken like a true racist....
I'm not a racist, I just believe that white bigots are ridiculous and stupid and I point it out at every opportunity. My great aunties being bonafide members of the KKK lets me do that. I'm telling my own people, "We are stupid and, by the way, cut it out!"
KJ, Jared Loughner had previously been a democrat but had become a right wing skinhead 4 months before the shooting. Check your facts first.
I wasn't the one who said Loughner was a Democrat. And as I said in my previous comment, it doesn't matter anyway, he would be most accurately described as apolitical.
Never mind politics....we see here a sick guy who spends all of his money getting tattoos. He is unhappy about society....hello ! society does not want these people around. He was simply a disgruntled human being who picked any excuse to be different so he could hold a grudge. A sick dude who unfortunately took some innocent people with him. The further away society keeps from these people, the better as they are not redeemable. Too bad he had access to guns.
NC open heart
Well NC, you don't have to worry about this particular racists in the article anymore, he got plugged fortunately. That cop saved the taxpayers millions in court fees and imprisonment and all kinds of political bs and news stories with a $0.50 bullet.
Thanks for keeping it classy, Mr. Wade. SMH
"Since 2009, the United States has been in the middle of a “huge resurgence” of white-ring extremism, such as anti-government militias and white supremacy, Pitcavage said. "
Let's see. What happened in 2009? Oh, yeah! Barack Obama was inaugurated as President of the United States, and losers who darkened their bodies with stupid tattooes, suddenly wanted to kill people.
Now I know why I voted for Hillary in the primaries!
What is white ring extremism. Is MSNBC claiming all whites are neo nazis now? Considering the SPLC is a Jewish version of Al Sharpton I would question their data.
These groups would bomb churches in the civil rights movements or hang blacks for sport or white only drinking fountains and bathrooms or get your food in the back of the resturant.
Black soliders coming back from WWII would have to put covers over the windows on trains when riding in the south.
my mom and grandmom lived through that and still tell the stories about almost getting hung for using the white bath room so see would not pee on herself!
Obama/Biden 2012???
2 bad
What exactly has Obama done for you? To vote for him because he's black is as racist as NOT voting for him because he's black. THINK REASON and then vote. BECAUSE he stands for something YOU believe in NOT just because he's not white.
proudamericanvet ... "What is white ring extremism. Is MSNBC claiming all whites are neo nazis now?"
Please go back to elementary school and learn the Venn diagram. "white right wing extremism" is a sub-section (a small one at that) of "All" whites.
To summarize, it's "some" not "all". Relax.
Far Left Nazi circa Socialist , Far right Nazi circa Eugenicist. You have alot in common.
hazmae you have some research to do..
Did you know that the stimulus was actually the largest middleclass taxcut in US history?
Did you know that most economists are describing the 2008 meltdown as a DEPRESSION? That's why the effects are lasting longer than a mere recession.
Did you know that the republicans used filibuster more time under Obama than in the whole history of Congress?
Did you know that the healthcare law will provide lifesaving care for a majority of American women for the first time in history?
Jeff do you realize how many times government has failed? You really think this healthcare plan is going to be peachy. Algorithmic directed healthcare based on illness survival rates vs finite resources. Do you realize this stuff scales up like a paper airplane comparing other small countries to ours is not useable? Do you realize if people had jobs more people would have healthcare? I read the healthcare plan and applied it to myself ,not excited.
Please....another racist/bigot freak here. Hello ! get a life dude. Go to school ; learn to bake cookies and be kind to people and animals and perhaps the world will be more kind to you !
hazmae
eat my shorts!
Gag me with a spoon!
Even the ADL which likes to hype the threat from radical Nazis in order to make sure there's no way a Holocaust could ever happen again way down the road, shows how few and tiny these Nazis are in numbers around America.
http://www.adl.org/racist_skinheads/wsgwssm.asp
"Overall, there may be as many as 5,000 members and associates of the Ku Klux Klan."
"The National Alliance (NA), headquartered in Hillsboro, West Virginia, was for many years the largest and best-organized neo-Nazi group in the U.S.
Since 1998, the National Alliance has grown from about 1,000 members to over 1,500 members."
"The National Socialist Movement (NSM) is currently the largest neo-Nazi group in the United States. This is due primarily to setbacks experienced by other major neo-Nazi groups in the country between 2002 and 2007. Nonetheless, despite the stability of having the same leader for nearly two decades, the group has not managed to attract a large following. It has consistently maintained a membership of several hundred members."
Another of your brethren have committed a horrendous crime against humanity, Chesty. Proud? I know you are.
And this means what...that's it's OK? Just because you don't belong to some group, doesn't mean you don't support their views. Look at this board...it's left wing that, right wing that. Hate. Hate doesn't need to sign up anywhere or register anywhere. As long as people are taught to hate, people like this "Racist" will strike again.
Do you feel better about some Internet report that gives you "Numbers"? Or do you go outside in the real world and see and hear what's really going on? Racist are real. Violent Racist.
You don't have to be a sheet wearing, cross burning bigot to be racist, just have an irrational (or weakly rational) fear of "different people". Some people have a tinge of racism and don't even realize it.
I think this is why there is such backlash against Obama. Many people aren't overtly racist about him, in fact most would flatly deny they are racist at all, it's just that he's different than the norm with a funny middle name. And that's hard for some people to accept no matter how "open minded" they like to think that they are.
How Stereotypical can you get, Sailcat? Maybe your hero is extreme leftist Josef Stalin. You see, I can be stereotypical as well. You shouldn't act like a child and put Chesty in a group which he does not belong in. There is a difference between Nazism and Conservatism just as there is a difference between Liberalism and Communism.
Sailecat
He's your brother too, this is one country and we are all part of it. Or does this only apply when liberals are trying to prove a point? Wait, I know the answer to that question already.
The blame for this belongs to all of us or none of us. It definately belongs to the idiot that pulled the trigger.
Brian... "The blame for this belongs to all of us or none of us." That's the stuff. Either everybody counts or nobody counts. "E Pluribus Unum."
"Common sense is the collection of prejudices acquired by age 18. Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are even incapable of forming such opinions." Albert Einstein
I guess the race war is to begin? The mud people must go?
so much for worrying about the muslim brotherhood and shia law or muslim american president.
Now got to worry about muslim and aryan brotherhoods, foreign and domestic terrorist
No wonder I wanted hillary to be president or collin powell wife didn't want him to run for president!
more death, more sadness, more injuries all brought to you by the NRA!
great going guys!!!!
i wonder what it will be like in another 10 years. will this country have daily, major shootouts??? multiple daily, major shootouts??
when will we start to smash guns rather than manufacture more of them?
don't we have enough death and destruction, just in the last month, from just this kind of stupidity? i have had more than a belly full of it. enough of it to last a lifetime.
the days of the 2nd are numbered. in time people will be all to glad to turn in any gun. any gun is only a souce of death and sadness. and tragic events like all we have witnessed in this last month. any one gun is capable to causing any of this stupidity.
given enough of these events, the 2nd can/will go away.
to all the gun lovers: either solve this problem or the rest of us will take away your 'toys'.
First this shooting has nothing to do with the NRA or legal ownership of guns.
Then many of the Sikh Temple witnesses who survived said that there was a group of people who attacked them, NOT one lone gunman.
Then in this very inaccurate 'news report' brings up the Militia trying to make it sound like it is a bad thing like the MSN masters tell them too. (*Which is against our laws here - the cartel of 7 companies who dictate mainstream news) {"... an anti-government extremist one, such as the militia movement, and white supremacists, Pitcavage said.".
What is bad about defending our homes, our towns and cities (the peace officers do not do it anymore - ordered not to; but that is for another comment), our counties, our states, our nation from those enemies attacking us from inside (domestic enemies of the USA) or from a physical assault from foreign entities or nations?
Some education: The Efficiency of Militia Bill H.R. 11654 (Dick Act) broke the militia down into three groups. The three Militia classes H.R. 11654 provides for are the organized militia, henceforth known as the National Guard of the State, Territory and District of Columbia; the unorganized militia and the regular army.
It states: "The militia encompasses every able-bodied male between the ages of 18 and 45. All members of the unorganized militia have the absolute personal right and 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms of any type, and as many as they can afford to buy."
The Honorable William Gordon, in a speech to the House; about the action of President Wilson in ordering the Organized Militia (the National Guard) to fight a war in Europe "was so blatantly unconstitutional" that he felt Wilson ought to have been impeached… wherein proves the rights of the people and the militia to buy, train with and bear arms is out of the reach of Congress or the President as well as drafting them into services outside of defending this nation.
The militia was (and still is, except now women can join - where before they had to defend themselves mostly with a broom) made up of every able-bodied man in the area. When cattle rustlers, or other corrupt individuals or groups, made off with part of the herd, stole something, etc; a posse of militia was gathered from among the locals, and they set off to bring the scoundrels back. The sheriff could then present him/them to the judge, who prosecuted them.
When our nation was threatened by the British, the Continental Army could not resist the might of the Empire. It was the ordinary citizens who gathered their own arms and neighbors and went to defend our nation. The Milita fought in every major battle, and many minor ones, all the way through the civil war. There were entire units made up of only militia “volunteers”. The very essence of the militia is the community, for one is more apt to fight harder for his neighbor than for a stranger.
This is directed to Teresa Carlson, FBI Special Agent - consider it an open letter. You said "The FBI was “looking at ties to white supremacist groups” in the case, said Teresa Carlson, FBI special agent in charge in Milwaukee. They were also investigating the attack as possible domestic terrorism, which she noted meant use of force or violence for social or political gain."
Yet it is then FBI that has been behind every single "terrorist act" we have had since 9/11 here inside the USA. Let me remind you of the Oath you took, unless you have renounced it. "
“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.”
Remember that support and defense of the US
Constitution is before the duties of the position you are in. Now let me remind you of the FBI "motto" directly from the FBI site: (Under "Jobs" at the FBI web site they post (https://www.fbijobs.gov/61.asp) "About the FBI", "What is the role of the FBI?")
"What is the FBI culture like?"
Rigorous obedience to the Constitution of the United States,
Respect for the dignity of all those we protect,
Compassion,
Fairness,
Uncompromising personal integrity and institutional integrity,
Accountability by accepting responsibility for our actions and decisions and the consequences of our actions and decisions...
That means not lying, and not covering up for corruption within the FBI, and Support and DEFEND the US Constitution, our legitimate government is also pretty easy for one with your training to understand.
Rigorous obedience to the Constitution of the United States is pretty self explanatory, yet the FBI got involved in Fast and Furious an illegal operation providing KNOWN foreign gunrunners with arms for criminals in a foreign nation to MURDER innocent people there and (it has been ongoing since Mar 2009) many here that were 'quietly' covered up - some 47 crimes that have been committed here in the USA that we know about.
So when are those who are loyal to this nation, to our legitimate government going to stand up and do their legally sworn duty? Or are any left that have not been imprisoned, sorry, indefinitely detained?
Ask yourself this:
If there were never intended to be action to defend the Constitution from those who are DOMESTICALLY attempting to destroy its power and authority, why would each Oath require it of those who take the Oaths?
And the definition of a Domestic Enemy of the USA from the FBI website before they took it off of it:
"Domestic enemies pursue legislation, programs against the powers of the US Constitution. They work on destroying and weakening the Rights of the People guaranteed by the Constitution. Plus they create laws, amendments, etc that goes against the restraint on the three branches of our government by the Constitution. They are also those who support those in action, or by inaction; vote, voice, money, etc who are going against or trying to weaken the US Constitution and the Peoples written guarantee of the protection of those Rights.
The FBI and the words "Uncompromising personal integrity and institutional integrity" do NOT belong in the same sentence.
Here is the LAW against a cartel or monopoly running our news, yet where is the FBI arrests?:
*The Supreme Court stated in Red Lion v. FCC in 1969: “It is the purpose of the First Amendment to preserve an uninhibited marketplace of ideas in which truth will ultimately prevail, rather than to countenance monopolization of that market, whether it be by the Government itself or a private licensee. It is the right of the public to receive suitable access to social, political, esthetic, moral, and other ideas and experiences which is crucial here. That right may not constitutionally be abridged either by Congress or by the FCC.”
Almost 100% of the mainstream media is owned by seven companies: Disney, NewsCorp, TimeWarner, CBS, Viacom, NBCUniversal, and Sony. They control everything from movies and television, to all the major newspapers, and even music record labels [7].
When one company dominates an industry, it is called a monopoly. When a handful of companies cooperatively dominate an industry, it is called a “Cartel.” This is what we have with our mainstream media - an elite group that is cooperatively and covertly controlling everything that comes through our television, radio, newspaper, and theater.
CNN reported he was part of a "Far-Right Band"..that was the headline. Is this some new political term? I listen to lots of music and have never heard of a far-right band. More hate-bating to create more chaos so there will be more news to report..
nothing new with the terminology 'far right band.' Usually, it is used to describe bands or musicians who have far-right leanings or are affiliated with the white supremacy movements such as the Aryan brotherhood, KKK, Stormfront, Christian Identity and other such groups. Their music promotes white supremacy.
This is not hate-baiting, as there have been bands like this for quite some time. A few years ago, two girls who were known as Prussian Blue became rather famous because they were very young. They sung about white supremacy and Nazi themes. Now, these girls have grown up and I was surprised to see they have matured and changed their views rather radically.
I can see it now. A category on iTunes called "Far-Right Music".
Ironic to hear 'far-right' from CNN better known as FOX NEWS LITE>>>
Stating facts is not "hate bating," but attacking facts that don't mesh with your own desires IS ignorant.
Yup. Another registered Democrat mass-murderer.
Nazi is short for "National Socialist German Workers' Party". That's SOCIALIST. As in the far left-wing extremists that seem to be shooting up crowds of innocent people lately.
Actually, you're not quite right. If I may be allowed to quote, Wikipedia, "
Nazi Führer Adolf Hitler had objected to the party's previous leader's decision to use the word "Socialist" in its name as Hitler at the time instead preferred to use "Social Revolutionary".[13] Upon taking over the leadership, Hitler kept the term but defined "socialism" as meaning a commitment of an individual to a community.[13] Hitler also claimed that unconditional equality of opportunity for all "racially sound" Aryan males was the essence of the "Socialism" of "National Socialism".[14] Initially, Nazi political strategy used anti-big business, anti-bourgeois, and anti-capitalist rhetoric. This was downplayed in the 1930s to gain the support of industrial owners, and it shifted more to anti-Semitic and anti-Marxist themes. Nazism favoured private property, freedom of contract, and promoted the creation of national solidarity that would transcend class differences.[16][17] The Nazis outlawed strikes by employees and lockouts by employers, because these were regarded a threat to national unity.[18] Instead, the state controlled and approved wage and salary levels.
Sorry Charley, skin heads and Nazi are fascist or far right. What ever you prefer. Democrats vote their way into office, republicans have to cheat.
Far Left Nazi circa Socialist , Far right Nazi circa Eugenicist. You have alot in common.
The right wing lunatic fringe live in a dimly lit fantasy world. Sometimes I wonder how they dress themselves in the morning. Damn.
nice try vern....the right-wing gun fanatics own this guy.....but nice try vern. Hey...you can always use the one about MLK being a Republican though...and spin it to mean he was a gun toting, tax cutting, teabagger....if it makes you feel better.
Vern,
You do realized that Hitler used the term "socialist" wrong in that acronym, right? The same way he used the term "Aryan" incorrectly.

Stop the obsessive repeating of your moronic comment. We heard it. Got that, we heard and it isn't cute anymore. Constant repetition is what children do when they think something is cute, when in fact it just gets old. Grow up. If you don't stop, I'm going to call your mom and have her ground you.
Buzz Binder Yet you say nothing of substance. Grow up.
Buzz Binder When comments first starting appearing repetition was appropriate. The consequential posts were influenced by the preceding. If the truth hurts maybe you are the moron.
back to school for you......about 6th grade.....you evidently know absolutely nothing. There is no need at an attempt to put political parties in the mix. This issue is not political, it is pathological. This guy was a demented moron; the worst kind who will direct anger at anything and anyone, simply because he is ready to kill, for no reason.
Alumette, yeah, but could you imagine the out cry if a Muslim went to a christian church and did the same thing? There would be new laws coming into place within months. The good Christians would be demanding that all Muslims denounce the act, and weed out those that are full of hate or be the same as the assailant.
This guy didn't care if they were muslims or not, they were just non-white.
Question is, how long before the next hater flips?
Another white, christian, rightwing shooter. When can we start profiling? Isnt that how this works?
Far Left Nazi circa Socialist , Far right Nazi circa Eugenicist. You have a lot in common.
Scientifically, your probably right, but it doesn't work for the majority race.
Christian Punk Band leader. Sound far fetched to me Cameron.
1.) People are assuming he *must* be suffering from PTSD, even though he hasn't served for twelve years.
2.) My British husband is 52, white, and has a lightly shaved head.
I think there are too many people who assume that when a combat veteran commits an act of violence it is due to his previous war experience. This country has 100,000's of veterans from Vietnam to begin with. And not all of them have PTSD and I hate when assumptions are thrown around like that. My 18-year older brother enlisted in the Marines and did his 13-month combat tour fighting near the DMZ. He was a marksman and was assigned to several "Search & Destroy" teams. To the best of my knowledge, he did not and doesn't now have PTSD, nor does even own a gun. Not every veteran comes back with PTSD and/or minor brain injury or something.
2) Many people have made sarcastic (funny, ha ha type comments) to me that I married a "skinhead". I don't know what they've been smoking, but if they say it to my face, what crazy nuts think it.
"Going postal" is another term that drives me buggy. I think you know why.
This guy was never deployed.
You live in a world of uneducated people. Bald men are not skin heads as they are...well...bald.. Skin heads also are bald but are ignorant, uneducated, belligerent people who enjoy controlling, hurting and killing people they feel are better than them. That should be just about everyone who may potentially be their target. This guy's record in the military means little except that he knew how to shoot. He was a sick guy who was simply running out of time to carry an ugly deed. Thank God, he is dead but unfortunately there are many more like him. Society has to be vigilant and stay clear from these fools.
All this "left", "Right" crap needs to stop. This guy was neither, he was a murderer and a traitor to the United States. You would not see any side who would call for the assassination of their opposition in the US. My grandfather went to Germany to fight the Nazis along with many other American GIs. Many of them gave their lives for it. These Neo-nazis in the US are traitors to the US. The Nazi party has no place here. if they don't like blacks, Hispanics, etc then THEY can get the heck out of the US. Cause we are a nation of immigrants, always have been, always will be. We do not settle our differences by slaughtering people at church.
Really though guys, this is not about you or whatever personal agenda you have (anti-Dem, Anti-rep, anti-gun etc). Right now there are REAL families hurting so how about a little respect and grief for them.
Thank you for this comment. I was disgusted with the CNN headline making this a right vs left political issue when people have died.
No this guy was a right wing nut job like most that comment here are.
The shooter was a white, christian, right wing extremist. The only people who are objecting to that fact are others who fit that description.
Sailcat, where did it say he was a Christian? You have a loose definition of facts.
Ann I know Fox News is the fair and balanced news show but they spin also. Chill out.
Sailcat
Is it stupid generalization game time? Ok here's one for you. What color and what political affiliation are most gang-bangers? Could it be black and extreme left? Yeeeaaahhh that's right. See how stupid generalization is? Do gang bangers kill people every single day with illegal firearms? Yeeeaahhh that's what I thought. :D
Generalization ROCKS!!!
Very revealing: A movie theatre similarity, other similar horrible acts, posts full of condolences, some discussion about gun rights, etc. Hospitals absorbing treatment costs.
Against a middle eastern religion? No condolences I have seen, all the usual vine political fighting of left-vs-right, socialism, communism or whatever other axe people have to grind, who's fault it is the gunman acted.
Would it help any of you all to have a little compassion if you knew that since the Sikh religion arose in the 1400s, it has been in regular conflict with Muslims? Or that a core principle is the protection and safeguarding of all people regardless of religion, colour, race or creed?
It is O.K. to have a set of principled political values to help guide you. It is horrendous and soul-less when you let them consume you and color your outlook to the point you are at risk of losing all that can be good about being human.
Richard
Sounds like the perfect retort for NBC New's reporting. They feed off this. Why do you think this article is even here? It's a white guy who is also affiliated with a hate group. They pick their stories very carefully. In fact I cant remember the last time I saw anyones face in any of their stories that was anything but white or part white. I suppose blacks, hispanics, asians, or any other minority group never commit crimes because I sure haven't seen any of them make major news on this web site in the recent or even few months past. This news site doesn't know the meaning of fair and impartial reporting of the news. If you want a sensible discussion of this story, I suggest you find it on a website that doesn't taint its reporting with its own political bias.
yes, brian, the mega-corps that own NBC news are conspiring against white people. You need to take your country back.
And as to your previous spew of puke, please let us know how you determined that gangbangers are "extreme left?" Did you hang out and interview them? Are they commies, socialists, left-liberals, liberals, corporate liberals, limousine liberals or are they vicious gangster capitalists? Please share your remarkable knowledge.
JimD-406742
It's already my country, I don't need to take it back, I'm a citizen and have already fought for it many times. Maybe you should actually CARE about the country.
And as for your previous spew of puke, we all know who the gang bangers voted for, if they voted. Refuse to believe what you want to refuse to believe, I couldn't care less.
Got news for you, Brian. It isn't YOUR country, it is OUR country. And included in that OUR are the 6 members of the Sikh community that were gunned down and the police officer who was injured trying to protect them from further harm. It's about time that you, and the other narcissistic, hate filled posters realize we are all in this together. As long as you continue to spew your hateful rhetoric and believe that the world revolves around you because you have light colored skin, you create these situations.
Brian, both sides of my family have been in North America for close to 400 years, I'm about as ghostly a Caucasian as you can be, and there are a lot of medals for military service in our ranks. Yay us, right? Perfect good Americans?
Read a book. "Your" country originally was home to a bunch of dark-skinned people who do not seem to have issued engraved invitations to "your" ancestors, or to mine.
Things change, Brian, and all of us would be well advised to change with them. By the way, try that Golden Rule sometime. Would it kill you?

Nice attempt at twisting semantics to try to make a point out of thin air. You really do type just to hear the keys click don't you.
Yes it is MY country. Go to ANY country and ask anyone "What is your country" and I'm willing to bet my paycheck they answer "MY country is Germany, or MY country is Spain, or MY country is the USA."
Did I anywhere in my post say the victims weren't part of MY country? Did I belittle the police officer for his protection and heroism? NO.
Do yourself a favor and just shut up now you sound stupid, and hateful, oh and hypocritical.
Melissa-1175724-1762238
I am Caucasian and Indian. If you would read all of my posts you would see that they were in RESPONSE to people generalizing all white people as racist, right wing, conservative, murderers because this guy was white.
I demonstrate their hypocrisy and it gets their underoos all in a twist. Teach THEM the golden rule lol.
I mean if you look, the spew the puke comment I made was directly copy pasted from the post directly above. Good enough for him, good enough for me.
He was not in his 'right' mind and came way out from 'left' field rupublocrats should all be ashamed
I will be ashamed of this nut job when you are ashamed of the Aurora Colorado Theatre shooter...
The Colorado shooter did not choose his victims due to their religion or the color of their skin. We was psychotic, and was an equal opportunity killer as a result. This man was nothing more than a hate filled racist with a political and racial agenda. And it sounds as if someone needs to be keeping a watchful eye on you, as you appear to be at risk for becoming the next one who shoots up a temple or a mosque.By the way, are you from Missouri?

Soooooo, because this guy was a hate filled lunatic and shot people I should be ashamed as Yoitsme says? You are truly misguided arn't you, just as misguided as she. And because he was a extremists Neo-Nazi ( I can't STAND Neo-Nazis my grandfather fought against Nazism in WW2) people should watch me?
Quote one comment I made anywhere in any post about my hatred and willingness to do violence to anyone. If you can't you are making crap up so you might as well just stop now before you make yourself look any dumber. There is a difference between being a professional FBI profiler and an internet troll. You definately fall into the second category.
Your comments have absolutely no logic to them at all whatsoever
