Gun Control? What a joke. Not everyone lives in the city. I have lived at 10,000 foot elevations up in the mountains where mountan lion and bear the size of a Volkswagon roam.I have also lived in the desert basins where rattlesnakes and wild dog packs roam..To not have a gun in these places is just insane.The first time you are in the wild and you come across a bear the size of your car, the thought of not having a rifle with you to protect yourself, or your family, or your neighbor is just ridiculous.Take the rabid bear attack on all those people at that hotspring..That bear killed three or four people and was eating them before finally a person with a gun showed up.It was not a cop..It was a pedestrian that was smart enough to bring a weapon along to this location that has a possibility of dangerous wildlife.You nanny state city living folks have absolutely no clue what you are talking about...Gun Control? I am listed as an independent because both party platforms currently have no workable vision whatsoever. At the start of the banking crisis, you had a Republican President, but the banking oversight committee had a Democratic Majority, the same as Congress itself. I also noted that people assume this security team was armed. Where does it say that, might I ask? In most businesses and organizations in DC, security guards have (at most) mace, batons, and/or tasers. The only armed guards I am aware of in DC proper are all at Government Institutions.

And, lastly, to the lovely lady who said that most liberals are better educated and more articulate? I grew up in WVA when it was solidly UMWA liberal democrat territory. A lot of the people voting for the Democratic ticket couldn't even read the ballots (I am NOT exaggerating). 30 years later, it is staunchly Republican. Why? Cause the Liberal Administration rewarded all those incredibly loyal UMWA miners by practically outlawing coal usage in the US by 2015. Coal mining is the absolute largest industry in the State. Obama and the EPA have hurt them in ways no Republican Administration ever would. And thus, West Virginia is now a red state.
