Pat Mahaney, 45, was treated for internal wounds at a local hospital for four days before his release Tuesday. Police said doctors had to insert a tube down his throat to remove all of the blood from his stomach.
A man in Ohio was severely beaten by six teenage boys who said they did so because they were bored, police allege.
Pat Mahaney was walking home from the store in North College, Ohio, Saturday with a six-pack of beer, looking forward to a quiet evening watching sports, when something hit him in the back of the head.
“They came from behind. They hit me,” Mahaney told the Cincinnati Enquirer. “I don’t remember telling them anything.”
Police said the six boys, ages 13 and 14, “were just bored and looking for something to do” when they ambushed Mahaney from behind. He was immediately knocked unconscious. During the attack, one of the boys hurled a beer can at Mahaney’s head, police said.
“The next thing I knew I woke up on my neighbor’s front step and the life squad was there,” Mahaney, 45, said.

An officer responding to another call spotted a crowd of people gathered near Mahaney’s home. Several witnesses told the officer Mahaney was covered in blood after being “jumped by six children,” the police report said.
Mahaney was taken to Mercy Mount Airy Hospital, where he was treated for four days before being released Tuesday. Police said doctors had to insert a tube down his throat to remove all of the blood from his stomach.
A tube remained in his right nostril as blood continued to seep out of his head, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported, and his left eye is heavily blackened.
Police said the teens admitted that Mahaney had done nothing to provoke being kicked and punched repeatedly in the face while he lay helpless on the ground. One of the boys allegedly told police they only stopped assaulting Mahaney when a neighbor began yelling at them and said he was calling police.
“They were pretty arrogant in the interview with us,” North College Hill Police Chief Gary Foust said of the teens. “This appears to be premeditated, and there was no remorse on behalf of any of the assailants.”

The boys were arrested and taken to Hamilton County’s juvenile detention center, where they were released a short time later. They face felony charges of aggravated riot and felonious assault and are on house arrest at their parents’ houses, court officials said.
“I didn’t think kids could do something like this," Mahaney said. "They should be punished.”
Mahaney said he has no health insurance and has been unemployed for years. He said he has been looking for factory work.
The boys are scheduled to appear in court Aug. 24.

If it'd had been white on bIack, it would have been the main story in bold letters citing "Hate Crime on a BIack Man!" Al Sharpton would have been all the over the news citing racism and demanding justice. Funny, he's quiet and MSNBC tries to hide it! Biased reporting? Of course it is...

Hispanics and blacks are the most whinning people in this country and we protect them with special laws and considerations at every turn, it's like they are a protected species! you do not hear any Chinese, Irish, Korean,German, Jewish,french or any of the other people of different ethnic backgrounds complain near as much, even the Arabic people in this country don't complain like Hispanics and blacks! if these kids want to act like they did send them and their parents to Mogadishu, the perfect environment for this kind of violence and see how long they survive!

No I'm not so pure, I just happen to live in Co where white kids went in and shot fellow classmates in Columbine high school, where a white guy went into a movie theater and set off tear gas, and then shot people while they were trying to escape the tear gas!
There have been many cases of white teens attacking and beating people!

They shouldn't be under house arrest at home enjoying themselves...they should be in detention.
Also, since they are juveniles (unsupervised at that!) the parents should be liable for all medical bills.
I agree the parents should pay all medical bills. But what I dont get is why people are taking this out on some of the parents? I have been through the court system in Ohio with my kids and let me explain how it went.
We moved to Ohio from a small town in another state my kids were straight A students in school never had any problems outa them at all. When we moved to a large city in Ohio it was not long before our kids were in the court system for different things. and in the court we told the judge that sending the kid home is not punishment that they should be held in juvi to learn a lesson and this is what the judge said to us....."Well now I see why these kids are acting out it is because of BAD PARENTING" we got our kids and left Ohio forever!!!! So people please dont be to harsh on the parents it might not be that they were brought up wrong it is the society's fault for the spare the rod idiots that protect these kids!!!
And yes it is unfortunate that the parents have to be liable for the actions of there children.
When they are being forcibly held down and they feel that big kcoc tearing their selohssa apart, maybe they will think twice about what they have done. But, probably not.

I would go after, and sue each and every one of their parents. Once the criminal suits are won I would state 'for any parent that does not want to pay up, I will honor that request if you punish your children to these requirements:
1) They must each do 100 hours of community service in a manner that helps victims of domestic violence
2) They must each wear a sign out in public for an entire week eight hours a day stating: "I am a weak little bastard because I couldn't fight a man one on one and had to have my friends with me while we pulled the biggest bitc* move ever and jumped someone from behind
And finally
3) They have to partake in the show Bully Beat Down which is an American reality television show that hosts Jason "Mayhem" Miller who challenges bullies to fight against a professional mixed martial artist for a chance to win $10,000

Another black on white hate crime treated like a casual altercation. Google 'black flash mob' and see what else blacks are doing these days. I know, I sound racist, and three years ago I would have hoped we were looking forward to better race relations. But it's not happening - it's getting much worse; and as usual black on white hate crime is the real truth. At some point 'white' America will burst, and I can't blame it.
And yes, I know some of you are saying whites have it coming. Well, as a 'Japanese-American' (pronounced AMERICAN) who had nothing growing up, I say if you were a former US slave, or the child of a former US slave please speak up as you have a legitimate beef, otherwise quit sniveling and become productive members of America.
