As with anything their are bad apples that ruin all the good the good cops do. While I may not always be a fan of theirs I truly understand what it would be like without them. They risk their lives for strangers, run to danger while we run away or try to avoid, leave their families at home to protect ours. The sad part of this is that Police are going to be more concerned with their personal safety as the attacks against police has gone up. Which may lead to even more shootings and less trying to diffuse the situation as the risk against their lives has been going up so will their use of force. I believe most police are good hard working men and woman doing the best with a tough job. I would like to know what the weapons actually were. What is an assault rifle and what the press calls a assault weapon are two different things. As for needing an assault weapon?? All weapons were at some time an assault weapon. You basic bow and arrow was an assault weapon which made the simple spear almost obsolete! The English long bow could put a steel tipped arrow through steel armor! The second ammendment was not put in the Constitution to provide hunting arms. It was put there to provide weapons against a tyranical government like we rebeled against with England! If all the hunters in American armed themselves at the same time, we would have the largest army the world has ever known! That is the reason that Japan never attacked us on our own country during WWII.

Larry I understand very much, yet will only call people out who stated they served when they uses to say they committed atrocities under orders and stuff like that.

maybe the time is ripe for mandatory gun control with the liberal Supreme Court, but allow drugs like X and crack to be freely distributed to buy a vote and of course allow anyone to come into the country and reach out to the entire world....

I don't think that mandatory gun control would have stopped this from happening. We need to find a way to keep the guns in the hands of law abiding citizens and out of the hands of criminals. Or better yet, what were these guys up to? Why did they behave this way? What was the cause of their actions? If we can find a pattern then we can take steps to prevent things like this from happening in the future. It's not gun control, it's these bad guys that need to exercise human control. Thank god they didn't throw gasoline on all of the cops and light them on fire. Then they'd all be dead. We need to find the cause to stop crimes like these, rather than look at the tools of the crime and then say, "ban that" or "control that".. When people are desperate and lost, or have been in and out of the system all their lives and are used to hurting people like this then sometimes it's better to not keep letting them out of jail until they do something really serious!!
