Maria Cruz Ramirez, 46, awaits her turn to speak at a press conference near the Nashville Public Library on Aug. 16, 2012. Ramirez came to the U.S. in 2001 with her three children on visas, which they overstayed. They are all undocumented.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- They are in the United States without documentation, and they are tired of hiding.
Over the past few weeks, a group of more than 30 housekeepers, day laborers, students and immigration activists has been making its way across the country in a ragtag caravan, chanting “no papers, no fear” and proudly declaring “I’m undocumented” in public gatherings.
The riders do not have the legal documents to be in the U.S., a point they want everyone they meet to know. They are on the bus tour, dubbed the “undocubus,” to highlight their plight and to challenge their anti-immigrant foes in the ongoing national debate on immigration.
“We want to live in equality like everyone else, and that's why we have taken this risk. We have confronted fear of potentially being arrested, but we believe that it is worth fighting,” said El Salvadorean Jose Mangandi, a day laborer living in Los Angeles who is raising his 3-year-old son on his own after his wife was deported. “We have customs, we have cultures. We want to share this with this country, and those who criticize us and who hate us, we invite you to get to know us.”
Mangandi was one of the group’s members who spoke at a press conference Thursday in a Nashville park across from the public library, where they had just finished hearing a talk on Civil Rights movement protests, such as the local lunch counter sit-ins that led to desegregation.
Their tour, which began in Arizona, has made stops in Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee. Along the way, the riders have met Civil Rights-era activists, some of them have been arrested during protests, and they’ve held talks with immigrant groups to exchange ideas on how to prevent deportation.
“I think it’s important to create dialogue and when I say, ‘I’m undocumented,’ I’m also welcoming others to say their stories, too, and (to) not be afraid,” said Isela Mares, a 29-year-old Mexican living in Phoenix, who noted she was just becoming comfortable using the term “undocumented.” “I feel that it’s our responsibility … to let the people know what we are going through so that they also, you know, find that connection.”

Jose Mangandi, 50, is an undocumented day laborer from El Salvador living in Los Angeles. He is raising his 3-year-old son on his own after his wife was deported. He spoke in Nashville, Tenn., on Aug. 16, 2012, about his plight.
Though their flagship bus painted with the words, “No papers, no fear,” on it in Spanish and English broke down in New Orleans, they’ve carried on with vans and a minibus. They hope the bus will soon re-join the trip.
Organizers came up with the concept of a bus tour in the spring. It was born out of the notions that “undocumented people can speak for themselves” and “undocumented people should be able to choose their own risks,” said Tania Unzueta Carrasco, 28, an organizer with the Immigrant Youth Justice League helping to handle press relations on the trip.
“I think that’s … a big change for a lot of us. I think for a long time immigrant rights organizations had been very protective of undocumented immigrants, just the whole idea of … ‘I will get arrested for you, I will take the risk for you,’” she said. “For a lot of us who are undocumented, it’s like, ‘I don’t want you to do anything for me … I want to be able to … choose for myself what I’m doing.’”
The group has their opponents, though they haven’t been turning out in large numbers. One woman showed up at a Nashville event wearing an anti-immigration t-shirt, but she kept her distance, participants say.

“They’re illegal immigrants advertising the fact and ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) needs to pull them over and detain them,” said Mark Krikorian, executive director of the Center of Immigration Studies, a think tank that supports tighter immigration controls. “I mean, it’s as simple as that. … you can’t arrest every illegal immigrant but it seems to me advertising your illegality ought to be reason enough for you to be detained and removed from the country as a priority and the fact that they’re not is outrageous.”
The riders met with lawyers before they left to learn what the potential consequences of an arrest could be. For some, it could mean deportation. Eleazar Castellanos, who already was forced to leave the U.S. once before, shortly after he came here 16 years ago, thinks he would be forced out again.
On the group's journey to Nashville from Memphis late Wednesday, Castellanos said he had been trying to find work as day laborer since losing his job putting in countertops years back. At times, he hasn’t even had enough money to get gas to look for work or to put food on the table, he said as he wiped away tears.
Castellanos hid these struggles from his wife and 22-year-old daughter until four days before the trip, which was also the first time he told them he was going to be on the “undocubus.” They were shocked to learn of his decision, but eventually decided it was the right thing to do, despite the risks.
"I don’t care, because anyway, every time I’m exposing myself (while) looking for work, and anytime the police can stop me or the immigration and they can deport me,” he said. “So in case that happens to me I want it to be for something good … I’m not afraid anymore. If I know my rights probably I have the chance to fight back and let the people know to come out of the shadows and not be afraid.”

Sisters Ireri and Tania Unzueta Carrasco sit outside of the Workers Dignity headquarters in Nashville, Tenn., on Aug. 16, 2012, during a stop on the "undocubus" tour.
When asked about the "undocubus" and whether the riders could be deported, Barbara Gonzalez, press secretary for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, sent the following statement via email:
“ICE is focused on smart, effective immigration enforcement that prioritizes the removal of criminal aliens, recent border crossers and egregious immigration law violators, such as those who have been previously removed from the United States.”
Nine of the riders are applying for the government's new "deferred action" policy, under which certain young immigrants in the country without documents can get a two-year work permit and a reprieve from deportation. While some are grateful for the initiative, seen as a bid by the president to provide some relief since the Dream Act -- immigration reform legislation -- stalled in Congress, others said it didn't go far enough.
Their ride ends in Charlotte, N.C., at the Democratic National Convention, where they intend to convey this message.
“I think it’s important for people within the undocumented community to find some kind of technique that can have some success in increasing the pressure on the political process and on Obama and on the Democrats,” said Gary Gerstle, a professor of American history and an expert in social movements at Vanderbilt University in Nashville. “I think in order for more to happen there has to be more of an immigrant rights movement and there has to be more of a human rights movement in the U.S., and in thinking about how that might happen, I think the ‘undocubus’ is innovative and has a chance of making a difference and it fits within a broader history of non-violent peaceful protest.”
Though there are more experienced activists in the group, a number of them are for the first time putting themselves out on the front line.
One of them is Maria Cruz Ramirez, who brought her three children to the U.S. for better economic and education opportunities in 2001. Life has been difficult since the tighter immigration law in Arizona was passed, she said, with her husband narrowly evading an immigration raid in Phoenix.
After she saw her youngest daughter and her son get arrested protesting earlier this year, she decided she needed to act.
“They stood up for themselves and fought for their own rights and dignity,” she said, at times wiping away tears. “I’m fighting for them and everyone else ... for the mothers who don’t want to or can’t or don’t know how to support their children. I want to represent all of those mothers and those young people.”
Many spoke of their journey on the bus as creating a family. They share hugs and laughs, dance while some in the group play congas, and play sports together. They clap and cheer after the declarations of their legal status.
“Sometimes, I feel a little nostalgic when I’m alone. But when I’m with the group, I laugh and my whole attitude changes ... because the group gives support and love,” Mangandi said after the press conference. “We know the bus is our house and what we share there is the family we have made.”
Protests erupt in Arizona after Governor Jan Brewer signs an executive order denying key benefits of President Obama's new federal immigration policy. KPNX's Oralia Ortega reports.
Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly identified the gender of Maria Cruz Ramirez's children who were arrested at a protest. It was her youngest daughter and her son, not two daughters.

Breaking the law and proud of it. That's where society has gone because people refuse to enforce rules and do their jobs. Next people (probable these same people) will be robbing stores because they are poor and doing "what they have to do" to survive, when hundreds do it per day and overwhelm the system, guess what? We're seeing the result right now.
Nice so now the illegal aliens are so "empowered" and bold they openly spit in our faces. This country is so upside down. What a joke we have become.
And if you were to be in their country illegally, you would be treated like dirt.
Share as in clog up the ERs and make tax paying insured citizens wait longer to get medical treatment. As in share do you mean adding to the education problem by overcrowding schools and and taking the teachers attention away from those kids whose parents pay taxes, and do things by the book, and do not try to buck the system. As in share do you mean the illegals that drive on our roads and kill people(this happens more than you know) and have no insurance,or license, so the victims and their families suffer double, with no recourse?
I have no problem with immigrants I have a huge problem with undocumented people anywhere. The main point is that no one person not even the President is above the law. Get legal,or get out!!!
These illegals need to be deported NOW. America can not afford them any more...
Yep @ Grumpy, Mexico's dirty little secret how they treat the illegals from Hondouras,Guatemala and Salvadorans that cross into mexico. They have their miltary deal with them and very harshly at that in some cases shooting them.
Gamechanger here folks. When lawbreaking people feel empowered to brazenly and openly declare their lack of care for US laws it's a major problem. It's time for the government to take steps to reform immigration policy, not just talk about it. If nothing is done when this happens it's called complacency- which creates precident, which gets used by lobby/rights groups to further manipulate existing law and mutate the system of law into something else. We can't have that.
Add to this example the President's (and Chicago's) "Let's get the illegal immigrants working" program that was reported on in the last few days, which only further exemplifies the government's complete disregard for current laws. Another would be the INS' and DOJ's going after states to stop them from enforcing current immigration laws- it's only undermining the system further. What are they trying to do?!? (maybe garner illegal votes, maybe garner legal votes from sympathetic communities?) This is a real and significant problem we have to face now folks.
Read my other posts on immigration- it's time to close the borders (from easy access), register them all, and start the line with currently legal immigrants. I'm not anti immigrant but I am for lawful, sensible immigration reform that rewards legal immigrants for their playing by the rules.
thanks for putting your self on camera, now step over here and board this bus back to mexico , oh and by the way since we have you on the list you can never get papers for being here in the first place. be proud in your own country since you love so much but dont want to live there !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Of course if ICE stopped the bus and arrested those on board they would guilty of racial profiling and punished themselves so under this administration where is the incentive to obey the law?
Obama MUST GO!!!
As a former undocumented (not illegal), I have mixed feelings about this.
I don't approve of what these people are doing. Yes, they have human rights, the right to be treated humanely and sensibly. But at the same time, going 'on tour' like this just seems to be flouting your status. This isn't going to be the way to effect change. Adults who came illegally as adults do need to be deported, humanely and quickly, unless they are victims of human trafficking or qualify under VAWA/refugee/asylum regulations.
Children's cases need to be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. I agree that the Immigration system needs reform, but I don't consider this as being the right way to go about it. The first thing you need to understand about being here is that we are a compassionate nation, but we are a nation of laws and openly declaring yourself to be in violation of those isn't a good way to start off...especially not for your children.
It's disgusting that our federal government has so little respect for the law, that criminals are able to openly declare themselves to the public without any fear of retribution. What a smack in the face to every citizen, and law-abiding individual in this country. Honestly, I don't think it would be at all out of line if these people were shot on site.
wow, we are on a fast downward spiral; illegal and proud of it, and nothing you yankees can do about it, free health-care, free education for children, free lunch for illegal kids, free cell-phones, tip # issued by irs, so they can claim negative income return, food stamps, housing assistance; yes we can bring down a nation.
A United States Citizen couldn't go to Mexico and live without authorization and would face a prison sentence.
Do it right, do it legally or don't do it at all.
Joe..."It's time for the government to take steps to reform immigration policy, not just talk about it."
Actually there is little wrong with the laws now. The problem is they are not being enforced. But as the Obama administration openly admitted, that's purely up to it's discretion.
(OK, I said there is nothing wrong with the law, but in fact, it is very discriminatory as it allows an incredibly disproportionate number of Hispanics in when the vast majority of the world's poor are not Hispanic. But of course it's perfectly OK when the government discriminates.)
As well you should. You were an illegal alien. Playing word games doesn't change that. (Unless there's some other kind of undocumented alien that doesn't include entering a country illegally.)
As a former undocumented, I like to think that I have a unique perspective on the issue, from both sides, as a citizen and as an undocumented.
1. Refine the definition of 'illegal'. Illegal should mean those who hopped the border with intent to defraud the system or deal drugs and shoot a cop on the way. No amnesty no matter how long ago the incident occurred. 'Illegal' should NOT mean those who came here legally but ICE took 16 years to process their applications. 'Illegal' should not mean those for whom ICE lost paperwork a decade after the fact. 'Illegal' should NOT mean those who were trafficked in as children, either through international adoption by crooked adoption agencies, by legal American citizen pedophiles for child sex, by their illegal parents, or are refugees. Yes, I am advocating amnesty--for anyone under 18 or who was under 18 at the time the offence was committed.
2. Close the border to Immigration only (not to business travelers, diplomats, and corporations wanting to build factories in the US.) Use the returning troops from the war to secure our northern and southern borders if necessary. Send out advance notice to the world a year in advance that we will be closing our borders. This will give everyone who wants to immigrate to the US time to get their applications in prior to the closure date. Stress to the world that we are NOT closing our borders forever, we are NOT going to become isolationists; we just need to get caught up on the paperwork backlog. Keep the borders closed for 2 years or until ICE catches up.
3. Use the time the borders are closed to catch up on the enormous backlog of applications waiting to be processed. there are people being deported as 'illegal' who have paid the fees, filed all the paperwork, done everything legally and were approved for residency but who have been waiting as long as 20 years for their paperwork and are deported anyway even though they havebeen approvd to stay.
4. For those already in detention: prioritize the cases. Deport the truly 'illegal' first (see above definitions) then address cases for minor children, elderly/infirm, and terminally ill, then ablebodied aduts. Don't make those children wait for years in detention, it's inhumane. Offer them basic English language and civics classes while they are in detention so they will learn about our country; instead of penalizing them for their ignorance, offer them a chance to learn.
5. If you have a case of someone who came here legally but ICE has not gotten to their paperwork and time expired (undocumented), release them on electronic monitoring once they have not been deemed a flight risk. This will ease the overcrowding in deportation camps and make room for more of the truly illegal, higher-priority cases--ICE's own stats say electronic monitoring has a 98% compliance rate--98&% of people released on electronic monitoring do show up in court for their immigration hearing. A 2009 Associated Press article said an examination of ICE records showed that ICE currently asks Congress for $1.7 billion to detain 33,000 people per year ($141 per night) and 18,000 of those people were simply undocumented and had not committed any crimes. Do the math:
18,0000 people x $141 per night x 365 day a year=$926,370,000
Releasing those 18,000 undocumented, non-flight-risk elderly, terminally ill, and minor children on electronic monitoring would free up $926 million. That should be enough to hire more pencil pushers to get caught up on the backlogged paperwork and detain and deport more of the truly illegal in the deadline above. Also add in the funds from the 'seized civil assets' the government takes from those who are detained and deported as illegal, that's a lot of money, definitely enough to get caught up on the paperwork backlog.
6. Improve conditions for those in detention. I'm not saying they should have bingo night and TVs in every cell. I'm talking about adequate food; no meals with maggots, please give us eating utensils, and please give us clean underclothes and jumpsuits; NO ONE should have to wear underclothes still crusted by another woman’s period. And adequate medical care; if someone is having a seizure don't tell them to fill out form for an aspirin. If someone is on medication for something please allow them to continue taking those meds. I spent three years in one of those deportation camps--i know what they are like and no one deserves to be treated that way, it's a clear violation of our 'inalienable human rights.'
7. Allow non-violent ICE detainees out on a day-labor program. You do it for nonviolent offenders, why should we be treated any different? Sitting for 24 hours a day in a deportation camp does no one any good whatsoever. The detainee has nothing to do but go crazy; let us out to work while we wait for the judge to throw us out.
8. If the judge says they have proved they are a citizen RELEASE THEM. There is absolutely no excuse for keeping someone after a judge has ruled they have proven they are a citizen. They should be released. Also, Congress passed a law saying that ICE can only keep someone for 6 months, they have to decide to deport in those six months. ICE/Homeland security regularly ducks that by sending a person to another deportation camp for the six month countdown to start again, making detainees more of a drain on taxpayer dollar than is allowed by law.
9. If someone says they have proof that they are indeed a US citizen or a diplomat from another country, INVESTIGATE. The law of the US is 'innocent until proven guilty', not 'guilty until YOU prove you're innocent.' Don't automatically assume that because the person looks Latino or foreign that they MUST be here illegally. Look at Hans Keil of American Samoa.
10. ACCOUNTABILTY. If one of us dies in ICE custody our legal US citizen relatives have a right to know if we have died! It won't matter to us, we're dead, but our relatives outside the deportation camp have a right to know we have died so they can claim our bodies and take care of us according to our respective beliefs. Even if you believe the 'illegal' doesn't have a right to Last Rites, not everyone believes so and if there are relatives willing to claim the body, they as legal citizens have the right to do so.
Oh, look at all the racist comments this morning.
Why don't republicans propose illegal immigration reform?
Exactly right. Here's the distinction: If i get pulled over for a traffic violation and can't produce my driver's license, I'm undocumented. If I don't have a driver's license, I'm illegal. And traffic courts understand and distinguish the difference.
There needs to be more rallys but geared towards the "Rail Rallys" where they all get onto cattle cars to go to a "special" place, once the doors are locked ride those rails deep into Mexico and cut the cars loose telling them where to find each door key inside. Happy I'M Illegal Freedom Day!!
Fewer illegals came across the border with Obama than Bush II! But facts just cloud your point.
"Give me you tired, your poor, your hungry." no longer applies since I'm here. Take it down. In the long scheme of things I think the Mexicans are just taking back peacefully what we took from them by force - their land!
Too bad they're not making a stop here, I'd hijack the bus and drive it across the border!
Yes Obama is very successful in 'fundamentally changing America' (his words) for ever! It amazes me that he flaunts his effort to eventually turn the USA into a Welfare State and people still support the guy! Amazing and frightening!
The mentality of Amanda and the rest of these border-jumping enablers illustrate what's wrong with so much of the country. The bottom line is that she, and others like here either are or were criminals that knowingly and continuously broke U.S. laws. But amazingly, people like her are more concerned with the basic 'human rights' of criminals than by protecting the overall health and welfare of the rest of society. Sorry, but I don't believe it is a human right to be given clean free clothes, or decent food paid for by the taxpayers of the very country you're trying to rob. I'll start advocating for these people to be shown a little more respect as soon as they have the basic decency to respect our laws and immigration policies.
As far as their children are concerned? Yes, I realize that it's not their fault that they were brought to this country illegally, but it certainly isn't my fault either. Why should I, or others like me make sure those kids have access to public education, health care, housing, etc. when they aren't even Americans? We weren't the ones who put those kids in this situation, it was their criminal family members. To excuse this sort of behavior is not only ignoring existing laws in place, but it also provides added incentives for illegals to come over as they'll know their children will at least be taken care of.
And to those who like to quote the Statue of Liberty line about giving us the poor, the tired, etc. You people realize that back when that was written, public services like free education and health care did not exist right? The quote is meant to be an invitation to people who want to come here legally and make positive contributions to American society. It'€™s not meant to be an open invitation for illegals to come and suckle off the government teat by draining public resources.
Thanks to the "Vote Getter-in Chief".....he says and does WHATEVER it takes to get the vote from his Special Interest Groups!Pander to Women...Pander to Hispanics...Pander to Blacks....Pander to Farmers, Pander to College Students.....etc. etc.
Oops......he and Queen Michelle are too busy appearing on Leno, Entertainment Tonight, Live with Kelly............DISGUSTING for our Non-Leader!
Lots of love Obama --your policies are great for the country.
Very well said Tom.Marvolo
Top O' the morning all,
Isnt it great that these illegals can just walk around and spit right in our faces and nothing is done about it? How many mexican flags are they waving around? I find it very troubling that these clowns march around demanding handouts and amnesty while waving the flag of a foreign country. I have decided i am going to go to the store in a little bit and just start taking things off the shelf. I will then tell the owner I am not paying for it because its not fair that I should have to pay for things that I need. Wonder how the CPD will react to that when they catch up to me. Do you think they will treat me like ICE and the DOJ would if I was an illegal? Pat me on the back and say thats okay we dont want to hurt your feelings.
What should happen is an ICE agent should step onto that bus, lock the doors and drive that thing right back to Mesico. I am so tired of the arrogance of these illegals. And last, we did not beg you to come here illegally, you chose to do so on your own and now you people want free hand outs and for the US to change its laws? Why dont you go back to your own country and demand for your government to change its laws? Just an idea.
Gil is dillusional!!!
Ben, and Barry O's success is dependent on those illegal aliens voting for him! States that try to stop voter fraud are accused by Barry and Eric withHolder of 'voter suppression'! This is actually happening!
Well folks you could count on little Eric913730 screaming RACIST!, RACIST! pointing his little girlie finger at everyone who disagrees with the Illegal Alien 2012 Tour NBC News puff piece!
Little Eric913730, please get a new liberal tag line, that racist thing is so over played...
ARREST them! I am not against immigration. I am not even against the illegals who are here getting legal status. Then they are accounted for and can be productive to society and the tax base. I am against illegal immigrants, especially when they flaunt it knowing the the federal governemnt via Obama and the democrats policy wil do NOTHING. This is an in your face action. They are not here LEGALLY. The govt. should act accordingly.
Obama is a @!$%#ing nightmare. Oh how we were sucked in by his bull@!$%#. He is bound & determined to ruin America, and put the last spike thru the heart of freedom & democracy. What change! What a turd he has turned out to be. We have NO chance in this 2 party system. If we don't form another strong party for the people, we are screwed. Wonderful to see what's happened to the country I risked my life for. Pander to the illegal Hipanics so they can piss in our faces some more. Extend the "Drug War", the most destructive force in our Government that turns mexico & the U.S. into a No-Man's Land. Re-enforce the "Patriot Act" so Government can spy on us uncontolled. Freedom?! What Freedom????!!! Then, on the other hand we have Romney, a @!$%# who would take our Medicare & Social Security. What a wonderful country we have become. A choice between @!$%# & TURDS.
What is this mentality that they can ignore a border, sneak into the country and expect be treated like citizens? Seriously, can anybody explain the logic behind this?
The other day it was pointed out that many illegals from North Africa and the ME cross first into Greece. The problem is severe. Greece is on the verge of economic collapse and now they have many illegals that are jobless and starving as well. You can imagine the hatred going on there. Once again, the problem has eclipsed government control.
Here in the US, like Greece, we essentially have open borders and that policy is not working. It is fascinating that hikers, or journalists just putting one foot in another country has resulted in arrests. Case in point, N Korea and Iran.
What is never discussed is why the government Mexico cannot provide a safe country for their residents to work and live. We just brush this off as if it is the status quo and we should just accept that Mexico is a failure. What is even more perplexing is that the illegals aren't holding their government responsible either. They just bail. Mexico has tremendous resources and is geographically well situated and should be able to be a thriving economy. The Mexican government would never tolerate Americans jumping the border and staying over there and taking up jobs, but they get all huffy when the US doesn't keep a one way open border.
This isn't about race as the dems would like to make everything. I am just looking at the math. We cannot provide for LEGAL residents without bankrupting our country and now we want to take on more illegals into this country allowing them all the privileges that legal residents currently have.
It is the math and now it is the moral hazard once again that will take us down. The US won't even enforce our own laws, but try to put up a lemonade stand without a permit and see how quickly the law shows up. Put a sign in your store window not the appropriate size, and see how long that sign stays up.
You want to live in equality? Well, part of equality is that the laws of our nation should be applied equally. Do these folks realize that they're flouting that law, that they're asking us to ignore the law (a law their own nation has no compunctions about applying to those in THAT country illegally)?
denver bill 2
Any words trying to explain the bull5hit after the word ILLEGAL.
I CARE N-O-T-H-I-N-G ABOUT.
Well, Well. It's good to know that the Current Admin. can't be bothered right now. It's election time. If I was President I'd stop this @!$%# so fast their heads would spend. Let me be clear. No Mas, No Bama 2012. Romney for President.
I do have sympathy for kids that were brought over by their parents- they didn't have a say in it, and we should work with them so they are here legally, such as the program currently being started.
Those that came into our country illegally, or overstayed illegally, as an adult, do not have any rights here beyond basic human decency and a ride back home.
Can I steal a car, flaunt that it's stolen, and excuse my actions by saying 'I wanted a better life'?
Can I rob a bank, and excuse it by saying 'I want a better life for my kids'?
Being emboldened to break our laws with open and notorious impunity is precisely what happens when OUR GOVERNMENT REFUSES TO ENFORCE ITS OWN LAWS and GRANTS AMNESTY AND SPECIAL TREATMENT TO TO THE LAWBREAKERS BE IMMUNE FROM THE RULE OF OUR LAWS! This is unacceptable! As a life-long Democrat, I do not find Obama's amenesty agenda acceptable, and I will not be voting for him in Election 2012!
U.S. law needs to be enforced, and this busload of lawbreakers and demanders-of-special-treatment need to be DEPORTED!!!! This article makes clear that A GOVERNMENT WHICH REFUSES TO ENFORCE ITS OWN LAWS IS INTOLERABLE!
I had to laugh at the statement in the article "we want to live here in equality like everyone else." Too bad she didn't really mean it. But, I agree with the statement. So, the first thing they need to do is go back to their country of origin and go through the legal process to get to this country legally. Until they start at the beginning "like everyone else" then that statement is just a bunch of BS. Kind of like pedophiles wanting to be treated like everyone else. If you want to be treated like everyone else then you have to behave like everyone else. That starts with following the laws to be here in the first place.
But, I must admit that this shows how no one has respect for Obama, and his administration and the US. No one fears us or respects us now. So, I guess Obama has been doing a heck of a job of fulfilling his vision of the US being just one nation among equals. Vote Romney!
I wholeheartedly agree.
First of all...these ARE NOT immigrants. They're illegals. Period.
My grandparents came to this country through Ellis Island. They were immigrants. My grandfather got a job and went to night school to learn English, and the day they got their citizenship papers was among the proudest in their lives.
I know this isn't a popular analogy, but I think it fits: if there was a rally in which folks said, "We're bank robbers, and we're not hiding," wouldn't you expect law enforcement to be on-hand to arrest them?
Our immigration laws have become a joke...a political point-scoring arena.
And just because it's done often doesn't make coming here illegally any more right.
@amada - wrong. playing PC with your words there doesnt make it not against the law also known as a crime. undocumented (ie no paperwork) is illegal. it doesnt matter why you did what you did or why these illegals came here. they came here illegally - against the law - a crime - and should be deported.
if i entered a country w/o the proper paperwork - usually a visa - i would be arrested and deported. why do they expect some special treatment? this country has gone so liberal that if you stand for something, anything, you are a bigot and scum. this country used to be a place of dreams and hope but you still had to follow the rules. it is becoming a free for all and that never works out.
I guess it's no surprise why the current adminastration does'nt want to put any one out for a picture ID. It's all pretty clear now. Seriously Folks, you better get this election right, cause IT MATTERS. Romney for President.
There is, and that's something that most people don't understand.
I didn't enter illegally. i was adopted as an infant internationally, but never told before my parents passed away in a car accident. 18 years after the adoption, USCIS finds they have lost my adoption paper, and come to me for a copy. Having never known I was adopted, I said 'what papers?' when they said 'Papers, please!' So they decided that made me 'illegal' and placed me in deportation.
I wasn't illegal. I didn't come here illegally, all my paperwork was paid for and filed by my parents, I had a birth certificate with Dad and Mom's name on it as my parents, a legal SS card, brand new DL at the time I was civilly detained. I had school records from kindergarten through 12th grade, my parents' tax forms that showed me as my parents dependent, and Immigration themselves said that my status as a citizen for the last 18 years of my life was not in question; my citizenship was suspended because THEY lost my adoption paper.
It's not a crime for the government to lose a piece of paper, it's not a crime for my parents to have not told me I was adopted, its not a crime for me to have not known I was adopted, and it wasn't a crime for me not to have a copy of an adoption decree. Therefore, I was never arrested; I was brought in on a civil detention retainer and placed on deportation. Then they found out that I was not deportable--I was abandoned as an infant with no birth certificate, so legally I have no biological parents and no home country, I don't even know what my original name was or even how old I really am--the legal term is stateless/undocumented. Knowing that there was nowhere to deport me, I was simply told I would remain in deportation indefinitely until I provided them a copy of my adoption decree. Because I was being civilly detained, there was no hearing, no lawyer, no judge, no trial, no due process. Indefinite detention without charges or a trial.
I spent three years writing letters to every courthouse in every state we'd ever lived in trying to find a copy of that paper. I didn't know, and no one told me, that I could write to the Army and get Dad's service record (he was in the Army at the time I was adopted but got out a few years later) and I'm not sure a letter to the army would have been allowed to be sent from the deportation camp, they read all incoming and outgoing mail for 'factuality and relevance' and violations of that meant solitary confinement.
So yes, there is 'undocumented' that does not mean illegal entry. I'm not the only one either. my coworker's mother was deported two days before Christmas last year as an 'illegal'; she was adopted from Germany as an infant in 1945 and Immigration at the time never told her parents that citizenship wasn't automatic with adoption. 60+ years later they're digging through boxes of paperwork and find out the omission, but instead of allowing her to file paperwork to correct the problem, she was declared illegal, her house, car, bank account and possessions were seized as 'civil asset forfeiture' (just like my stuff was, even down to my high school ring) and she was deported to Germany she has to stay there for ten years before my coworker can file for her to come back, and in the meantime he's sending half his paycheck so she can live while waiting. she was legal for 60+ years--passed eVerify at work, never had problems, never drew welfare, sent her son to college. Her son hopes she will be back in time to celebrate her 80th birthday.
'Illegal' is someone who hopped the border and broke laws. 'Undocumented' is someone like me,like my coworker's mother, who are just missing a piece of paper. Most people don't know the difference.
I'm actually a little upset with some of the people in the above article--if you state that you crossed the border illegally, you can't call yourself undocumented. The undocumented are people like me, missing pieces of paper either through government error or time or whatever other factor, or simply being born in a place where birth certificates aren't given, or they came here legally filed all their paperwork and paid the fees, but it's taken the government 20 years to process your application.
And no, I'm not going on tour like these people--having had my citizenship revoked once because the gvt lost a piece of paper, I'm not taking a chance on getting it revoked again, and this time being placed back in deportation for life.
OK, that makes it easier for the right-wing-vigilantes to seize and murder them, after all they are considered criminals, right?
How any American can view events like this and not be completely sickened by how overtly the Democrat party's only goal has become buying votes at any cost is just mind-boggling.
Great to see groups of criminals banding together to preach to the people who pay for their crimes isn't it?
P.S.
I guess when you're collecting welfare you have plenty of free time to drive around spitting on taxpayers.
Undocumented??? Undocumented?? ILLEGAL!!!!!!!!!!! You can't sugar coat it, it's illegal!!!
If I were to go travelling the country saying 'I'm a bank robber, but I have culture to share with you' I'd be picked up in a heartbeat.
Face it America, we are toast. These illegals "Want to share their culture". My town, the place that I grew up in has been turned into a third world ghetto by their "culture". Inceased crime, filthy garbage strewn streets, overcrowded illegal housing with hundreds of kids running around, drunken men standing around and pissing on unmowed lawns at 6am, crappy stores, rivaling gangs shooting up the streets, music blasting from cars and houses at all hours of the day and night and Mexican flags hanging from every open window. Our local liberal rag of a newspaper calls it "diversity" And it is good. Don't know how it is, transforming a once nice suburban environment into a polluted crap hole, but it must be somehow. The paper says so. Welcome to Amexica.
What kind of message is the President of the United States sending when our Laws won't even be upheld? I know what kind of message he's sending me. It's time for a New President. Romney for President. We are supposed to follow this admin. into foreign countries, and they won't even enforce the laws that are in our own country. I don't think we think alike.
On it .... you are exactly right fewer illegals crossed the border during obama's presidency than bush's presidency but thats because since obama came to office there are less jobs the united states is starting to not look any better than where they came from....for the first time ever there are as many people choosing to cross the border from the U.S. to mexico as the other way around...congrats obama
Sounds like you need to move out of Los Angeles......
Here's a real life case: Homeowner hires a contractor to do some roof repairs. Contractor hires a subcontractor to perform the hot tar portion of the repairs. Subcontractor is actually an illegal alien but has purchased fake documents on the street for $2000 to make him look legal and lies to the contractor and says he is a legal resident. Illegal subcontractor hires another illegal alien worker from Nicaragua to do the hot tar work. Illegal worker has no training or skill, spills hot tar all over himself, and ends up in the burn unit for several weeks. Illegal worker racks up over $100K in medical bills, but pays nothing. Illegal worker sues main contractor for $500K in worker's compensation and homeowner for $500K in negligence damages. Illegal worker admits under oath that he not only has never paid a single penny in taxes in the 10 years he has openly been here, but he has never even heard of a taxpayer identification number or what it is used for.
That's the biggest problem I have with the illegals - they use up millions of dollars from of our socialized benefits (medical, food stamps, housing, legal benefits, etc.) like giant sucking leaches, but do not put a single penny back into they system. They take advantage of the system to harm Americans (such as the contractor and homeowner who were duped and now have to pay hundreds of thousands to an illegal for his lies and incompetence) and put Americans out of business. And then Obama tells business owners and successful Americans that he is going to tax them for their hard work even more and give that money to these illegals who contribute absolutely nothing to our society. Yet 50% of the population can't seem to understand this and intend of voting for the rat in November... What on earth has happened to America???
Just keep coming forward "ILLEGALS" so ICE can get some nice picutues of you.......
And if you're so inclined, fill out this "application" with more personal information so we can contact you, watch you, and / or find you whenever we need to "follow-up" on your status.
DUMBAZZES........
Didn't Obama and Holder raise their right hands and swear to uphold the laws and Constitution of this Country? I thought that oath meant something. This seems to fly in the face of that oath, their ignoring of this (and other) laws. Be interesting to see where this one ends up!!
Can't wait for a Romney administration, and a larger, ethical and truly impartial Justice Dept. We'll need one.... they are going to be busy with all of the decisions of late.
I'm puzzled about the very unchristian like attitude taken up toward "illegals" in this so called Christian country. Breaking up families because a spouse or child came over illegally and you can't deport them all because some members only have US citizenship... Throwing the undocumented into private "deportation centers" so that some well connected entrepreneur can make a small fortune off others misery... Underfunding, and poorly managing immigration services so that many legals drift into illegality or are given little choice but to break the law. If one more @!$%# screams "what don't you get about the word illegal?" might I ask in return, "What would you do if you were desperate and hungry and no one would give you a bite to eat, steal some bread?" I am an atheist so why do I have to shout about Christian values to a bunch of hate filled so called Christian bloggers.
What is it about ILLEGAL that these people don't seem to understand?
They work under the table (and as such pay no taxes. Their employers need to located and fined)
Their kids go to public schools (which since they don't pay taxes, they don't pay for)
They use public services, police, fire dept. libraries, parks, beaches etc, (which since they don't pay taxes they don't pay for)
NOW Obozo wants to give them permission to stay. To allow them to legally get jobs (which should be going to unemployed American citizens)
We need to stop this. NOW. Deport ALL of them and their Anchor babies. If they want to live here LEGALLY, they need to come into this country LEGALLY.
This is not about Race folks, it's about LAW. I don't care what their race is. In the Boston area, the largest Illegal population are the Irish. They need to go as well.
We need a federal government that will Uphold the laws of this land.
Obozo isn't doing it.
Clearly your case is unusual and "undocumented" is probably the correct term for you, but most of these bus people are illegal in the sense we've all been using it. I feel sorry for the children, but using them as anchors to gain access to the US has got to stop.
If Obama thought these illegals would vote Republican he would kick their illegal asses back across the border in a heartbeat.
They, and their families regardless of where they were born, should "IMMEDIATELY" be arrested and deported for openly violating the laws of the U.S. . Likewise, O'Bama, Pelosi, Reid and his boy Eric should be immediately arrested and charged with Treason for knowing and willingly supporting groups and individuals that are knowingly and willingly violating U.S. Federal Laws. I know some places in my part of the U.S. where if they get off the bus, they will be unable to get back on the bus. It's time for Legal U.S. Citizens to enforce the Law that the Feds. & Local Law refuse to enforce.
Bingo Steve. He'd be taking them back himself. Ah, the Dream Team Joe, but for who's country, not this one.
If you jump the border with intent to defraud the system and stay without permission, that's an 'illegal.'
If your citizenship is revoked because the GOVERNMENT lost a piece of paper, that's 'undocumented'.
The difference here is that the government will punish you even if it's THEIR mistake.
Not everyone designated as 'illegal' came here illegally or broke any laws. I never broke any laws. Neither did my parents. They adopted me legally. Per my post above;
It's not a crime for the government to lose a piece of paper, it's not a crime for my parents to have not told me I was adopted, its not a crime for me to have not known I was adopted, and it wasn't a crime for me not to have a copy of an adoption decree.
I had everything else that every citizen has; DL, BC, and legal SS card.
And there are MANY other cases where people were declared 'illegal' not because they came here illegally, but because of government error.
According to her birth certificate, Diane Williams was born in Metairie, La., on Aug. 23, 1974. So Williams was shocked on Jan. 18 when, hours after she was released from a Houston jail on prostitution charges, immigration agents showed up at her apartment and arrested her, saying she was a deportable alien. "I had a copy of my birth certificate, but they said they didn't know if it was real or not," she said. On Feb. 9, she was deported to Honduras, where she spent nearly two months, Rushton said. Eventually, the U.S. Embassy in Tegucigalpa issued Williams a temporary passport, after her mother sent documents proving her identity. On March 31, she flew back to New Orleans.
Thomas Warziniack was born in Minnesota and grew up in Georgia, but immigration authorities pronounced him an illegal immigrant from Russia. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has held Warziniack for weeks in an Arizona detention facility with the aim of deporting him to a country he's never seen. His jailers shrugged off Warziniack's claims that he was an American citizen, even though they could have retrieved his Minnesota birth certificate in minutes and even though a Colorado court had concluded that he was a U.S. citizen a year before ICE shipped him to Arizona.
Mark Lyttle, a U.S. citizen of Puerto Rican descent with mental disabilities who was wrongfully deported to Mexico in 2008. Lyttle’s entanglement with immigration authorities began when he was about to be released from a North Carolina jail where he was serving a short sentence for inappropriately touching a worker's backside in a halfway house that serves individuals with mental disorders. Despite having ample evidence that Lyttle was a U.S. citizen – including his social security number, the names of his parents, his sworn statements that he was born in the United States and criminal record checks – officials from the North Carolina Department of Correction referred him to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as an undocumented immigrant whose country of birth was Mexico. Lyttle had never been to Mexico, shared no Mexican heritage, spoke no Spanish and did not claim to be from Mexico.
When Angela Boneva, a 34 year old went to renew her passport in 2003, the State Department told her she was no longer a citizen. Boneva's father was born in Indiana, so the US consulate in Bulgaria gave her jus sanguinis U.S. citizenship while she was growing up in Bulgaria in 1981. However, the State Department said that an employee at the consulate broke a rule that required her father to have lived in the U.S. for 10 years before she was born, the Tribune reported. Her father had only lived in the U.S. for six years before his parents moved to Bulgaria.
I have to admit I have been pretty indifferent about immigration up to this story. I just kind of figured immigrants did the jobs Americans refuse to do and in return get some benefits like education. The actions of these individuals has forced me to take a side because it is so blatantly illegal. It is like a middle finger to our judicial system. I think the federal officials have no choice at this point but to arrest and deport those involved, otherwise they are a joke. Whoever organized this particular protest has to be the stupidest person alive.
I'm thinking that this is not helping their cause any. There are good and valid reasons why most citizens in this country are angry about the illegal immigration policy. It cannot be denied it is a drain on our infrastructure. Yes undocumented workers work hard and do a lot of jobs that Americans are not eager to do. They do them because they are the only jobs they can get. If we suddenly gave them amnesty and paid them minimum wage and gave them benefits and allowed them to work freely here they would no longer want to pick lettuce and gut cattle. They would suddenly be competing for good jobs that legal citizens and immigrants currently work. That's not fair. So I say if you want to be illegal and proud, fine - scrub the sh!t stains off our toilets, slave away in the fields for pennies and harvest our produce, live in slums and be miserable. But don't stand up to be counted and demand better conditions or anything of the sort. You were not invited here. You are not wanted here. If you don't like living like dogs in a gutter, being spit on and marginalized then go the hell back home to whatever paradise you left behind, the border works both ways. You are not the same as the other immigrants that came here. My great grandparents were all immigrants. They all filed the applications to get visas and work permits and did things legally. They all learned to speak English and worked hard menial jobs so that their children could have opportunities they wouldn't have had at home.
Steve-2081387
If Obama thought these illegals would vote Republican he would kick their illegal asses back across the border in a heartbeat.
If you want to deal with illegal aliens in the United States - you can sign up here.
Otherwise, you can do the 'conservative' thing - whine and complain about someone else.
Betcha the whiners are from the TEA Party - all glory and no guts.
So true Tom. LOL Could you see all them crying. OMGosh.
The justice department shouldn't be able to decide which laws they want to enforce. It's amazing with the sad state our economy is in we allow illegal aliens to suck up our resources. There is a system to enter our country legally and apply for citizenship. I have two friends who have been through the process and they are now citizens of the U.S.A. and proud of it. They both think people who enter the country illegally or say past their allotted time should be sent back to their home country. So do I!!!
WJE37, stop with the "anyone who thinks illegals should be deported are hate-filled." Such a miscarriage of the focus of their argument. Your side has done a masterful job of reframing this to make it about bigots and racists vs humanitarians. Now, I won't say that there aren't a lot of bigots and racists, but many of us are educated, benevolent people who just want to see our borders protected. I have no doubt that I sympathize with the stories of many of the illegal immigrants that have made their way across our border. I am sure many of them are wonderful people; THIS CHANGES NOTHING. Granting them amnesty sounds great-it sounds grace-full. But it just isn't what is best for the long-term viability of a healthy United States. To be frank, I am dumbfounded that there are actually people out there who don't understand the importance of a secure border. Mind-boggling.
Whatever the case, I am sick of being called a bigot because of my expectation that our government perform one of its most basic tasks: defense of our land and borders.

A little late, but @Weary of the same ole DC:
You are on DRUGS. As one who nearly became a citizen of Guatemala after spending a large portion of my life there, it is not illegal for citizens to cross from those central american countries, into Mexico. They just show their passport and cross. It's as simple as being a European and crossing form France into Spain. Because their economics are the same, there's no point in trying to keep them out. Besides, Mexico is a total crap hole compared to Guatemala and other countries farther south.
The constitution expressly forbids non-citizens to participates in the countries political life..
The constitution denies fundamental property rights to foreigners.
The constitution denies equal employment rights to immigrants, even legal ones, in the public sector.
The constitution guarantees that immigrants will never be treated as real citizens, even if they are legally naturalized.
An immigrant who becomes a naturalized citizen can be stripped of his citizenship if he lives again in the country of his origin for more than five years.
Foreign-born, naturalized citizens may not become federal law makers, cabinet secretaries, or supreme court justices.
The president must be a citizen by birth AND his parents must also be born citizens, thus giving secondary status to citizens born of immigrants.
The constitution singles out "undesirable aliens".
The constitution provides the right of private individuals to make citizens arrest.
Mexico's constitution.!!
All politicians pick and choose. It's called damage control. This admin. is treading water until the election so affraid they will offend someone. Only problem is, there are some SERIOUS DECISIONS that need to be made now. I agree Diamond.

yes, they are, and i will be the last one to argue with you on that.
I feel sorry for the children, but using them as anchors to gain access to the US has got to stop.
Here's the reason why they use their children;
"Out there, there is this perception that there is a process you can easily go through to become legal, but let's say you're Mexican as an example, since most of the immigrants in Tucson are from Mexico. You decide you want to move to the U.S. for economic opportunity, but if you don't have any family members here ... that will sponsor a visa for you, there is no way for them to come legally to the U.S. If a person wants a work visa in the U.S., and eventually to become a citizen, it's easier if they have a relative in the country who has legal status and can file a petition on their behalf. In those instances there are lines of people waiting -- a wait that can go from a period of a few years to sometimes almost a decade."
Mexico happens to be the most backlogged of all the countries. For example, next month the State Department will look at petitions of brothers and sisters of adult citizens that were filed in January 1994. "Let's say you're Mexican and you have a brother or sister in the United States who petitions for you. Here we are in 2010, and they are processing petitions that were filed in 1994. So that's a wait of 16 years," Wilson says.
If we change this law that says you can only come in if you know someone already here, and make it possible for anyone to apply on their own merit, the 'anchor baby' syndrome would no longer be of any benefit and they wouldn't have to use their children.
Back when immigrants were coming in through Ellis Island, they filled out applications and were judged on their own ability to work and contribute, not who they knew, although if you had a close relative here it sped things up a bit (my hubby's grandparents were first-generation Polish and they remembered Ellis Island in the 30's). When we closed the door on that and said the only way to come is if you know someone is already legally here, that set up the abuse of the system.
Amanda - what you are discribing are legal immigrants and legal citizens who are being MISTAKEN for illegal aliens because of clerical errors. It's unfortunate, and I agree it's a travesty that in today's digital age that one lost document can cause so much trouble. However that doesn't make you an illegal immigrant. It makes the government incompetant and you the unfortunate victim.
Obviously if you were legally adopted there should be copies of that paperwork filed in numerous locations. I realize you say that you only found out after your parents passed away, but I do find it a bit hard to believe that not one of your relatives, family friends, etc. have any knowledge about where you were adopted from. It almost sounds like you were the victim of an illegal adoption as well. And that would make you illegal, though certainly through no fault of your own. It would have been your adoptive parent's fault if that were the case.
These illegals do not deserve any respect from citizens. Respect must be earned; and they haven't.
Theses are parading criminals with an ugly anti-citizen "in-your-face" attitude.
Dropping the net over all of them this November when this "executive order" is reversed.
Well, Maria, you DO NOT HAVE any rights in this country. It is unfortunate that your government is not set up to help you out. I agree that you are entitled to health care, insurance, a job and an education, but NOT at the expense of the U.S. taxpayer.
Illegal aliens; lowering the standards and quality of the Unites States.
Good now we know where they are at. Round up and send back. Makes it easier and cost effective. Nothing but a bunch of people spitting in the face of legal Americans who where born here (excluding anchor baby issue) or immigrated here the legal way.
Don't get me wrong, I want these people to come but they need to do it the legal way. I would gladly trade several hard working Mexicans (and other Latin Americans) that want to come here and work for the lazy leeches who are lucky enough to be born here but take advantage of it and don't do $hit. I also realize the worthless windbags in DC have also caused this issue to get where it is by their total failure to do the jobs they were elected to do. I also feel for them for how crappy their country is getting but doesn't change what they are doing is illegal.
It is time DC, no more kick the can or look the other way. Like so many other things this is coming to a head, could've been handling long ago but you chose not to. Now you have more problems than ever to deal with because of your lack of focus and only caring about reelection. Whats it going to be? Do your job or do the American people need to forcibly remove you?
Why do we need reform, when we have laws already on the books from 1986 from the first amnesty? Why don't we just enforce the laws we already have. I keep hearing reform but what reform really means is illegal alien amnesty.
Welcome only foreigners who will be useful to society.
Authorities must keep track of every single person in the country.
Foreigners with fake papers, who enter the country under false pretenses, may be imprisoned.
Foreigners who fail to obey the rules will be fined and/or imprisoned as felons.
Illegal is a felony. The general law on population says.
Those who help illegal aliens enter the country are themselves considered criminals under law.
Mexico's immigration law.!!
You can come to this country if you want to live here, but you must agree to be sterilized. The U.S. taxpayer does not want to and cannot support your multiple children/family members.
They are in the United States illegally, and they are tired of hiding.
..............Then go home, nobody dragged you here..
Well said Tom, even if it is a bunch of crap. First off you need to read what exactly is available to the youth when and if they qualify for the work stay. Welfare, federal aid and medicare isn't included. Economic analysis determined that deporting all of the undocumented would add to the recession due to the percentage that have added gain to the economy, instead of loss. Not all of the undocumented have taken advantage of our federal aid system & stolen identities, as most of you stereotypical individuals want others to believe.
You people realize that back when that was written, public services like free education and health care did not exist right? False, the system as we know it today was less organized, and not fueled by the tax-payers. But towns and parishes did care for the poor, educate & house, dating back to the early 1800's. The 1820's state governments started participating in poorhouses, that mostly consisted of immigrants. The Statue of Liberty was dedicated in 1886. The depression of 1920's & 30's had the same results as today, attacks on the immigrants physically and mentally. Bank failed, factories closed & 1 out of every 4 American was unemployed. History does repeat itself.
Americans have become fearful, insensitive and paranoid. We chastise our homeless & poor, blaming them for our economic failure. Even though we know the largest contributors to our worries. There is a larger number of Americans taking advantage of unemployment, welfare & medical. Not all of us look at all the undocumented immigrants as criminals & freeloaders. President Obama administration has deported more undocumented immigrants than any other administration in the last 50 years. Going after the ones that have taken advantage of our charitable nature, with false identities, welfare,etc.. and they will continue to push them out in droves. Figuring that we have deported some 1.3 million undocumented in the last 3 years, if these individuals are stealing out jobs, than why is our unemployment rate still at 8.3? Because Americans don't want their jobs, much less their wages. Where are the truck loads of Americans being driven to work sites?
Public school administrators believe in education, and not turning away CHILDREN due to their immigration status. If you believe they attended school all those years unnoticed you're being naive. One phone call is all it takes to alert INS of a possible undocumented attending our public schools. Yes, I believe in deporting illegals but I also believe that every case involving families needs a individual evaluation and Suffer the Children isn't moral or humane. Once these young adults are deported from the home that they have always known, it could take up to 17 years (Mexico) and 10 years for all others, for a sponsor to help them back. When they could be putting that education to work in the US, productively. But most of these negative media induced delusional individuals aren't interested in facts, they thrive on greed, hatred and fear.
I don't know why Amanda keeps getting collapsed. I'm against illegal immigration but she's a special case, one that I feel comfortable calling "extremely rare". If she's telling the truth, she's not an illegal alien, but instead a victim of circumstance. But she's making sense, which is probably why her posts are being hidden. And I wouldn't be surprised if NBC moderators did it. If it's not a truth they agree with, you either won't see it or they'll just alter the evidence - which I'd expect from every commenter here, but I shouldn't have any reason to belive a reputable news outlet would do that.
Tax Illegal aliens!!!
These are the people Obama's executive action are "benefitting". In 2 years, they'll still be proud to be undocumented and someone else will have to take care of the can kicked down the road.
The results of a broken government here in the U.S. They have no fear because there is nothing to fear from a government that doesn't enforce the laws of the land, and goes after states that do want to enforce the laws. They then try to frame those that oppose as anti-immigration when those that oppose are mostly anti-illegal aliens. Notice how the liberal media has been pushing the term "undocumented" instead of illegal.
We don't need reform, we need enforcement.
Because Obama is rich he will never have to deal with living or associating himself with illegals.
If Obama had to deal with illegals on a day to day basis then he would be against it.
get an RPG and take care of that problem.
These people are laughing our face just as O is. His dream act is pandereing for votes. The left is proclaiming voter supression due to ID's but after the 1st of the year no more SS checks...all must have bank accounts, we all know to open an account you must have ID so their argument is moot, null and void completely. Real immigration reform must be done and giving away jobs to illegals is and will ruin us even further..job wise and tax wise.
Jwilson: Why don't you go back and smoke a joint with Obama? He has admitted to using it.
Why do you not go to church with him? Maybe because since he was elected and left Rev. Wright he hasn't.
Fix the worker permit situation. Fix the immigration process. Bring these people out of the shadows to be able to pay taxes and get a path to citizenship that is legal.
Stop the "x-tians" from their hate agenda.
Is it ironic that Obama calls his campaign the Bus Tour and this is the Illegal Tour maybe it is one and the same
Stanley... Sorry I hurt your feelings but the pallet for this topic contains only two colors, black and white. There appears to be no room for judgement calls and you're right about framing this as bigots vs humanitarians. I would only take exception to your judgement that it is my side has done the reframing. It is not me and I assume not you though I may be wrong who are suffering from this political fight, it is several million human beings whose status of citizen ship and residency is not clear. You can call them "undocumented" or "illegal" and that call may paint you as black or white, bigot or humanitarian but does nothing to solve the immigration problem. At the very least I can thank you for giving this some thought.
How can they receive the right to vote in the upcoming American presidential race by the democrats without coming out of hiding?
I'm with you Roy, if they don't like hiding anymore they should just go back to their country of origin.
Illegals waiving their illegality in law abiding folks faces is not a an American value they teach in citizenship classes.
More illegals are being deported by Obama than was by Bush. Stop BS'ing, Obama haters...
http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2011/may/11/barack-obama/obama-says-deportation-criminals-70-percent-under-/
Illegals don't have the same rights as US citizens. They should not get med treatment, school, etc. paid for by tax payers. As far as I'm concerned we should not let just anyone into this country. The majority of those who wish to become citizens must be able to contribute immediately to society as opposed to welcoming in poor and needy people. Most other countries are much more strict than the US on who can become citizens. MEXICO is much more strict on illegals than we are...
The sense of entitlement of these illegals is appalling. I remember back in 2005 or so when illegal aliens gathered in the town squares across the country to protest that they were being treated unfairly and that immigration laws should be made more lenient. WTF?! Only in America! We should have boxed them up and sent them back to Mexico.
Do it legally! And, while we're at it, fix your country so that its a place that you may want to live in. Stop acting like the US is obligated to take you in.
Is this what we have become? Such disregard for our laws that illegal immigrants picket and march against our laws out in the open? When our politicians and legal system does not enforce our laws then we don't have any laws..................
Remember a time when legal citizens were proud and blessed to live here and immigrants risked life and family just for the opportunity to come to the "land of opportunity"? Now legal citizens wonder how we have lost this country and illegals just simply walk into the "land of entitlement". What a sad sad time we live in where the criminal element and illegal immigrants flip the U.S. their middle finger and the Statue of Liberty is openly crying.
What is sad is I will have to look my future grandchild in the eye and speak about "I remember when the U.S. was the strongest and productive nation in the world. Boy those were the days......... You would have been proud to live in the U.S. then............ but not anymore".
Eric
For your information there was 2 bills introduced by Republicans in the last two years. First was the Immigration Reform bill that would have removed quatoas that were introduced back in the 1920s (by Democrats) and the DREAM bill that would have offered a pathwa to citizenship for anchor babies. Both passed the Republican House but were defeated by Reid's Senate. Why, because they did not offer a blanket amnesty clause. Check the Congressional Record
wje37fcsm, I love the ignorance of people like you who assume that everyone who disagrees with you as suddenly being Christian. Not all white people are Christians. Not all Republicans are Christian in fact there are Democrats and some Liberals who happen to be Christians Christian churches help far more people then any Liberal organization, and Christians donate far more to charity then anyone else
Imagine if our forefathers did not stand up to England and fight for their beliefs and rights but instead fled to another country and take the easy way out like these people are doing.
If the countries that they are fleeing are so bad why don't they band together and demand change in their own country like the writers of our Constitution did those many years ago. Instead they come here where even the worst living conditions are probably better then the living conditions they are leaving and bleed this Great Country dry of our financial resources.
What country is going to help us when our system collapses??
GET THE H3LL OUT OF MY COUNTRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GO BACK WHERE YOU CAME FROM AND MAKE IT BETTER THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YOU ARE CRIMINALS AND I DON'T WANT TO GET TO KNOW YOU!!!!!!!!
@ JewelsNewLeaf: you are delusional, what contribution? schools pandering to illegal Spanish speaking children is not helping the US any, it's taking education dollars away from children that are here legally. educators aren't so worried about educating as they are in getting those extra dollars the state and federal government have been ignorant enough to provide for a 'special' needs student; as in, one that doesn't speak English.
i know, my cousins son has a Spanish sounding last name, every school year the school system would try to stick him in some Spanish immersion class because they got more money per school year for him that way and every year she would have to go to the school and tell them 'NO' he is not going into a special class, he isn't Mexican' and they would treat her like she didn't know what she was talking about and try to place him in any way, Every Year, same school district.
if illegals wanted to be here and truly became US citizens they would work to enter legally and work to become part of the US, they wouldn't expect special classes in Spanish, free medical, free housing, free classes on how to buy property with no down (in Spanish), and they wouldn't hang the Mexican flag over an American flag or have just a Mexican flag flying in their yard.
And BS that US citizens don't want these jobs, i know A Lot of carpenters that have displaced from their jobs because of illegals coming in and filling these positions and some carpenters who have gotten their jobs Back when these people have been deported.
Also, when Alabama started the whole 'we are cracking down on illegals' deal, and so many illegals fled the state, there were 3000 people lined up at the employment offices in that state at one point waiting for a crack at those jobs (the article should still be available online) where they being processed by the employment offices? no, why? probably because the employment offices get more money per illegal helped than citizen, even in my state when my daughter and i go to the local employment office the state workers there will barely acknowledge us but some Mexican walks in and they are all over them, offers services and classes. i know enough Spanish to know that for sure.
after reading a lot of this vary harsh vitriolic rethoric,, first in case you did not know.. there is an immigration bill in the house but BONER is sitting on it hoping that the new administration will be republican and then the bill will come out of hiding and the republicans can take credit for new imigration laws..
and in case all of you republicans did not know Mitt Romney's father was an ILLEGAL
This is complete Chicago Machine Democrat politics on President Obama's part. It's all about the votes. Richard J Daley, Bill Daley's father did it in the 50's in Chicago. Daley built huge projects to house blacks that were trying to get away from Jim Crow in the south. What they got was re-enslaved to the Democratic Party in Chicago that provided welfare, food stamps and housing, and nothing more. And it's true the Republican's suggested this first in '86 when Ronald Reagan signed the " Immigration and Reform Act", granting amnesty to 3 million illegals living in America. But,Reagan did it legally with bipartisan support and it was a one time deal. And enfocement was supposed to be a big part of the law, but it wasn't. Reagan figured it would affect fewer than 1 million illegals. President Reagan turned this country around from a financial disaster to a booming economy. He later regretted his amnesty law as his biggest mistake. What Obama did here is nothing but a pitiful vote grabbing ploy. JANUARY 20,13 THE END OF AN ERROR! ROMNEY/RYAN '12
In my state Maryland our Governor calls them NEW AMERICANS he welcomes them to our state yes he is a a$$ hole Governor. Thank you OMoney
Romney and Ryan 2012
wlee - Really? Not the x-tians on this blog, it would appear. Judge not, lest ye be judged - foreign concept here.
I remember this lawbreaker a while back...what was her name again? Oh, yes, right..Rosa Parks.
People have a right to be free from fear and live in dignity, even if they are day laborers. That is what these people are saying. Good for them.
Other people will always hate - like many of the posters on this board. It's interesting reading some of these comments "These people are laughing in my face." Really? I don't see any laughing here, just a desire for dignity.
When this issue is resolved, these same people will find someone else to hate. The problem isn't what someone else has done. It's always you.
Scenarios such as this are the perfect time to round them up and ship them back to whatever crap hole they came from.
That we have a president that openly espouses flaunting this country's laws for political purposes is further evidence of our society's decay. Obama is the perfect president for a society that is rotting from within.
“We want to live in equality like everyone else,"
you mean with out having to go through the proper steps .... like everyone else? how is that equality?
It seems like there is overwheliming support here to enforce the immigration laws, so why is the Obama administration refusing to do so? I just sent a like to this site to the White House.
This is stupid. If they want to be treated fairly then they should have entered the country legally. Thousands of immigrants come here legally and they do so knowing that they have to work hard to get to where they are.
This is just a blatant slap in the face to those who have come here legally, fought for their rights through hard work, perseverance and dedication. It's like taunting someone who worked hard for their money by stealing it right out of their hands.
I'm for shipping your A$$ back to where ever you came from and putting ANYONE who hires you, houses you in JAIL and I AM proud of that!!
They are making it easy for immigration officials to arrest them, and deport them! They are all in one place, AND they even have TRANSPORTATION back across the border this time!! WOOHOO!!!
And before all the immigrants respond to what I just said, HOW DARE YOU! Expect ME to pay for YOU to be in MY COUNTRY! You want to be here, that's fine and dandy with me, but do it the legal way! Don't just show up on our door step begging for handouts!
I find it strange, the President creates a law saying the government can, now don't quote me here, arrest any citizens of this country that they feel should be arrested, yet, they are allowing this to take place? Seems to me, that the type of priorities that this administration has are very twisted beyond belief.
Actually, yes it does make me illegal. In the eyes of the government, not having papers makes you illegal, no matter how they got lost or who lost them. Even if the government is the one to lose your paperwork, it still makes you illegal.
Did you see what I wrote about my co-worker's mother? Immigration in 1945 didn't tell her parents that citizenship wasn't automatic, so 60 years later she's deported and has all of her belongings seized by the government, like I did, as an 'illegal', even though it was THEIR fault for not telling her parents to begin with. That's part of what is wrong with the system, it doesn't differentiate between illegal and undocumented. And neither does the majority of people out there. Certainly the press doesn't hep by not making the distinction when they write articles like these.
And there are thousands of us out there. And when you look down into it, money is the reason why they don't differentiate--Homeland Security gets about $51,000 a year for every person detained (even though Congress passed a law saying they have to decide on a detainee's status within 6 months of their entering ICE custody.) And the private deportation camps get $35,000 of that er detainee per year. Homeland Security keeps the rest, and lobbyists forth private prisons keep trying to get congress to pass more laws giving them more detainees.
So those who are like me can be detained indefinitely so others can profit. The three years I was in deportation, Homeland Security got $154,395 to detain me. The deportation camp I was in for two years (spent a year in prison waiting for space to open up) got $71,540. And I got UTI's from underwear that had never been washed, vaginal infections because they were still crusted with blood from another woman's period, food that had maggots in it, strip searches and was left bleeding from body cavity searches by male camp guards, and guards who got their rocks off watching me go to the bathroom.
Dad's Army record should have had the adoption decree in it for him to claim me as a dependent, but no one told me I could write the Army for it (and I doubt the camp warden would have allowed that letter to go out.) The courthouse where the adoption was filed had a copy (that's where I eventually found it) and immigration had a copy. I assume Dad and Mom may have had a copy that got lost, or maybe they never even kept it because they didn't want me to know I was adopted. The adoption agency may have had a copy but they closed down and no one could answer my letter asking where the agency's records would have been taken once they closed.
We didn't have any other family. Dad served in the Korean war and brought Mom over after the war to marry. His family (Irish) disowned him over that decision to marry my mom, so I never met any of his relatives. And Mom didn't have any family. Not even any of my schools knew I was adopted--since all of my school records, my paintings (I was an art student who wanted to be a police sketch artist), Mom's jewelry, Dad's military memorabilia, even my high school ring-was seized and disposed of at government auction as civil asset forfeiture, when I got out I had to write to all my schools for copies of all my school records again.
I didn't get free phone calls to try to contact any of Dad's former business associates, I had to scrub toilets in the camp for two weeks just to be able to afford one call, no longer than ten minutes. Or I could send out two letters, one letter a week. The letters were more important than the calls because it was this paper I needed. No lawyer to help me out, no judge to plead my case to, no trial and no hearing. I did not exist and had no rights--not even the right to ask that a female guard do the strip and body cavity searches.
No, I wasn't. ICE made that extremely clear. I was not considered 'illegal' for the previous 18 years of my life since I was legally brought into the country and legally adopted. No crimes had been committed. My citizenship was only revoked because THEY lost my paper--and they could reinstate it as soon I gave them a copy, and if my name comes up in front of them again for ANY reason, they can revoke it just as quickly and put me back in deportation, this time for the rest of my life.
They're debating right now making it possible to do that to anybody, naturalized or natural born, via the upcoming Enemy Expatriation Act. I've stopped donating money to animal rights organizations because they can strip you of citizenship for supporting terrorism, and 'animal rights activists' are on DHS's list of terrorism suspects, I stopped going to 'alternate media' sites like Huffington Post because 'alternate media' is on the list of terrorism indicators, and as my sword collection is considered a 'weapons stockpile', I'm down-sizing that and 'food stockpiles' (more than 7 days worth of food in your house) is also considered a sign, so we have only what is in the refrigerator and one cupboard and that's it. I don't have a car because I can't risk speeding or parking tickets, I ride bus or bicycle wherever I go, haven't registered to vote, can't get a passport because I have no original birth certificate.
This is what the administration is really saying:
at least as long as those breaking them will continue to support for the administration. Why don't we just open all the prisons and let the prisoners out. after all, they were just trying to "make a better life for themselves" buy selling drugs, robbing banks, running Ponzi schemes, Medicare Fraud Rings, etc. Why should they have to pay for their crimes but these Illegal Aliens get to flaunt their crimes with impunity.
Some message he is sending to the next generation, isn't it!
You can all thank Obama for the illegals daring to demand:
We do things in thier languate, we give them free health care, free housing, free food stamps and then they spit in our faces because we have a loser in the Whitehouse who wants thier illegal votes. How is that hope and change working for you now. We as American Citizens have no right to the privacy of our own country. Anyone who wants to break our law and enter and basically steal from our own poor is embraced by Obama just to hold onto Democratic power who have bought votes with give aways of our tax dollars for years. Had enough yet? I'm reading a book about the Native American suffering when De Soto invaded centuries ago and the arrogance of him and his crew sounded just like these people. Have we learned nothing in all this time? I say they are violating the rights of each and everyone of us under our constitution and we should sue Washington to make them enforce the law.
Seriously, I'm a Democrat, and I think what these people are doing is stupid. I am all for human rights and treating everyone with dignity and respect regardless of race, creed, color, gender, orientation, etc. but they are breaking the law (and it's a fair law in my opinion). Just become a citizen - it is so much easier than having to look over your shoulder all the time and worry if your family is going to be split up or completely deported.
And to anyone who solely blames Obama - you're ignorant. We've had the same problem for years. It didn't just start in 2008. Lastly, despite what you may think, it is both illegal and immoral to shoot people crossing the boarder.
No papers. No fear. No rights. All of them should be imprisoned without exception.
They say I hate them, huh? I have nothing against their customs or culture and I welcome them. I only hate them personally on an individual basis. They are some real entitled scum to go into a foreign nation and demand that they be treated as equals when they entered as criminals. They should not be treated as equals. They should be scorned, harassed and denounced at all opportunities as the filth that they are.
it's totally out of hand now as far as illegals having their way as we are being shown here.why doesn't our law enforcement do anything about this is totally disturbing. we have to sit back a take this kind of crap from not only our out of control government leaders but also now any illegal crossing the line, common theif invading our homes, murderers getting by with short time jail sentence,or taking us to court because we violated his rights entering our homes, soon to be punished if we have fire arms to protect ourselves, etc etc etc...we all need to seriously remember what is taking place here in "OUR COUNTRY"and when november comes around try to vote the biggest part of these problems out of the White House and let's take it back...illegals will always be in our country, but we won't have to put up with or listen to this bull@#$$% we have been taking on for almost 4 years already...in some sense we are a partially at faught of what is happening here but if we could all stick together come voting day we could put the "BIGGEST PROBLEM" out and see if new people can bring back a lot of what we had before...put the effort of what i see in all these comments out there into a good solid "AMERICAN VOTE" for a solid "AMERICAN" TO LEAD OUR COUNTRY AND POSSIBLY THIS TYPE OF GARBAGE TAKING PLACE ON THIS FIELD TRIP WILL GO AWAY"...y'all have a great day!!!!!!!
Yo Byron, Your analogy that illegal immigrants are the same as Ms. Rosa Parks is stupid. It's like saying that Barack Obama is running around desperate for victory coming up with crazy strategies much like Hitler did in his bunker in Berlin the last days of the war! It is that stupid! Rosa Parks was a citizen of the United States of America who should not have been discriminated against in the first place. That discrimination was the reason for the Civil War and for Abraham Lincoln's murder. These people are selfish criminals who if they want "dignity" then they should become "dignified", they want "respect" then first become "respectful", of this great nation.
Call me cold hearted but this really Pi$$es me off. I am a Legal immigrant. I have been a permanent resident for many years. I have done everything the law requires me to do. I pay my dues, I have a job, I pay taxes. The only thing stopping me from becoming a citizen is money right now. I took a $5000 pay cut so I could keep my job, so the money just isn't there. I have never been on Welfare or required food stamps. I have medical insurance through my employer.
My point is I have done everything Legally!! This is just a huge slap in the face for me and my family who are all here legally! We worked hard to get to where we are at. I love this country and call it my own.
It makes me so angry that these people are proud of being here illegally! I basically feel like I am being crapped on.
Thanks Obama and everyone else in our government for slapping me in the face and not doing anything about this.

Dude, how is it okay to force Christian values down the throats of people in the issue of illegal immigration, but not when it comes to things like gay marriage? A liberal shouldn't be cherry picking where that applies anymore than a conservative! I am completely for the latter since it is essentially not harming anyone. Illegal immigration on the other hand does hurt people.
- It hurts the children who are already suffering from a poor education because border state classrooms can have up to 40 kids and 1 teacher, who needs to split their time teaching in English and spanish.
Many of these kids are not even residents, never mind citizens. They get bussed over the border every morning, and not a single dime from their parents goes back into that community.
- It hurts the neighborhoods where there are drop houses for human, weapons and drug trafficking. Have you ever woken up to the sound of gun shots in a non-ghetto neighborhood? I have, and I shouldn't have to deal with it. It sucks up funds in our already bankrupt state governments that you and I have worked hard to contribute to.
- It opens up the door even wider to frivolous lawsuits against real citizens who would not be in that vulnerable position were they dealing with people who are legally allowed to be here.
- And it puts people's credit at risk every time a loan is taken out using someone else's SS#.
I am not working my a$$ off earning a living so that my gov't can tell me I need to show christian charity. If you want charity, go to a church. A gov't's job is to protect their own citizens first and foremost. Otherwise, what is the point of electing them?
Do you even realize how many citizens we have in poverty that cannot get the benefits that are awarded to people who cheated to get them? Do you also realize how many people who are trying to legally become citizens DON'T have the luxury of being just over the border? They are in countries worse off than Mexico waiting for visas, and everytime the illegal population increases here, it just makes it that much harder for them to fulfill their own dreams. Where is your sympathy for them????
If illegals are willing to put themselves before Americans and foreigners who follow the laws, then I should not have to feel guilty wanting to put my family before them!
Amanda, You keep claiming people just don't understand you but I think it is you that is not listening. So I will reapeat this again. Your case is very, VERY rare. People who debate this issue aren't arguing from that angle because it simply isn't commonplace. Yes, you are exceptional, but in general the people we are talking about are not. So rather than continuing to distract the issue, please accept that the ones we take issue with ARE defrauding the gov't simply by crossing that border (as adults) knowing they need the paperwork to do so.
And yet it still isn't enough is it? There are still thousands that ICE leaves alone.
More policies are also are being created by Obama to enable them not to be deported than Bush as well. And more state laws are being struck down because no matter what number of deportations ICE has made under the Obama admin, he is still not allowing states to empower themselves to compensate for lack of resources.
That is plenty to criticize Obama for!
---------------------------------------------------------------
This "Undocubus" tour is, very simply, a pure display of arrogance and false entitlement. Not a single word in this article described how the non-youths are planing on fixing their legal status. The truth is, they are not. They think it is too expensive and takes too much time, and since they've been sneaking around this long they think we should just leave them alone to live their lives.
Sorry, but it doesn't work that way. You are not going to win over the hearts of and compassion of 50% of the population by flaunting a crime you committed and then say it was justified, and I should accept you. If any of them would show even the slightest bit of acknowledgement and remorse for breaking the law, and then divulged a plan to change their situation I would soooooooo much more respect for them. But for some reason that part is always lacking in these bleeding heart pieces.
In fact, had I seen this bus in Phoenix I would have gladly shaken their hand and heard their side, but made it a point to ask that question and see what they say. Usually when I do ask an illegal that question they look like a deer in headlights. They simply DO NOT feel they need to take that step.
So it is very difficult to have sympathy for a large group of people who think they are owed something for nothing!!!

Now they've done it!!!!!! I still had some empathy even tho I wanted them out. Now? Get out, get out now, and I hope the door hits your arses hard on the waoy out!
This is enough of their freaking blatent BS. I'm sick and tired of watching them wave Mexico's flag and demand that we do what they want for them. We're working ourselves to death while they pretend to only be making minimum wage and we are supporting them and their children? Many are working full time at a good wage but using fake documents to collect full welfare? (Oh yes they are!) We're paying for the medical care and all the education? The newspapers are loaded up every day with drunk unlicensed drivers complete with illegal vehicles causing deaths and accidents. The drug dealers sneaking in right along with them?
This bunch just keeps demanding more and that nut in the white house will give it to them just to get some votes. BS! Clean out our existing scum in the slums and get THEIR arses out to work. No? Okay, throw their children into the system and thereby stop the welfare and aid-for-kiddies racket. The lefties & other assorted liberals will be more than happy to foster them for free, I'm sure.
Regardless of who wins in November, it's time WE demand an END to this crap. And an end to all the excessive work visas. Any half-wit who can do an Excel spreadsheet would do better than that bunch of frauds in DC.
REMINDER -- Illegals, stop your whining BS and get out!!! You've gone way too far and you've really P'd us off one time too many!
Just for the record, to all the idiots on these boards trying to come off as authorities on Mexican immigration laws:
As an American who lived in Mexico for many years, yes you can live in Mexico without correct papers. No, they will never say anything about it. No, you will not be sent to jail (idiots). There are legal processes (very simple processes) in order to stay in Mexico on a permanent basis (walking to the city government office and paying $20.00 for a 6 month pass... which you can renew every six months). After living in Mexico for 3 years, you can apply to be a permanent Mexican citizen. No arcane visa situations, no government raids, no mistreatment of the immigrants.
Allright, that being said, the situation is probably that way because Mexico assumes Americans have money and they're totally cool with them coming across. Mexico treats immigrants coming from the south like crap.
Anyways, as someone who lived in Mexico, who married a Mexican (who is now a dual citizen), I can honestly this undocu-bus is pretty crap. I'm sorry, I know it's tough to get visas and come here legally... but the point is, that's the legal way to do it. I'm originally Canadian, and it took 10 years for me to get my citizenship here (and a lot of dough).
I have no problems with Mexicans or the Mexican culture, and you people should stop bitching about them, since they're your cooks, janitors, landscapers, etc. etc. so, please STFU about them being lazy or bad people. They're not collecting welfare, they're not getting paid decent wages, hell, they're not getting paid minimum wage. Your bullsh!t you keep shoveling about them is ridiculous. The real reason no one does anything about it is because the rich are making huge profits off this near-slavery level workforce. They're not taking advantage of you, dumbass, they're being taken advantage of. Mari, don't be an idiot.
But sorry, no one should be proud to be here illegally. There are legal ways to do it, just because it's hard doesn't justify it.
This is from an immigrant, who married another immigrant, who has never crossed a border illegally.
@ Chloe False again... Business analysis stated back in 2011 that Alabama alone would lose like $42 million, if some 12000 illegal immigrants stopped working in the state. "The state also stands to lose hundreds of millions in tax revenue as undocumented immigrants paid $130 million in taxes to the state in 2010." Reported by Business News.. My children attend a dominantly Hispanic public school in Tampa, Florida. I am Cuban/Puerto Rican and Irish, and raised in Ybor City which HAD a high population of Hispanics dating back to the being of Tampa's history. My grandfather, Mario Lopez, worked in the cigar factories in Ybor and was a carpenter. My grandmother Isabel Lopez, worked in clothing factories. My great grandparents migrated here legally, obtained their citizenship and still were treated like illegals, shabby wages. My grandparents, both were in the newspaper (Tampa Tribune) for the things they contributed to the community. The illegals and legals worked together to build up Ybor, Cubans, Mexicans, Puerto Ricans. My great grandparents, grandparents & mother leaved through inequality, even as American Citizens. And Hispanics are still being signaled about by others as illegals. Show me one white lawsuit claiming inequality in the work place, education & welfare system and I'll shut up. Till than, I rather not shed tears for the predominately white race supposedly being disenfranchised in the United States, by Hispanics.
No, you want to be treated special. It's as simple as that. These people think they are better than every other immigrant that has gone through the process legally. They want a free ride and a handout instead of going through the process that millions of other have, legally.
Are you serious?
Okay let's sterilize the infants coming here to be adopted. Let's sterilize people like Gene Simmons' mother, a Jewish refugee from the concentration camps after WWII and keep Gene Simmons from ever having been born to make all that wonderful music with KISS. Sterilize Mark Sanchez's or Tony Romo's relatives so they would never have been born and wouldn't be in the NFL today. Sterilize Mitt Romney's parent(s) so that he would never have been born. Sterilize John Lennon so he wouldn't have had Julian Lennon; sterilize Nicole Kidman's parents so they never had her; do the same to Mel Gibson's parents, Mia Farrow, Cate Blanchett. Let's sterilize the ancestors of Harry Truman, John F Kennedy, Richard Nixon, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Regan, both Bush presidents, Barack Obama, Michael Flatley, Harrison Ford, Walt Disney, Harrison Ford, Tom Clancy, Anne Rice, Nora Roberts....
I could go on but I trust you get my point. Look at what we would lose if we sterilized everyone who wanted to come live here!!!
Blame your problems on whatever you want these people have as much right to go where they want you all have this system with borders set up that does not work and never will, the corrupt government is as much fault as anyone and give it all back to the natives if you want to go that route what makes you so special cause you are NOT. you are all illegal imigrants that pollute and destroy the planet the only ones that knew how to treat the planet without greed were the natives give it back all go back to your homeland. This palnet is going down fast better worry about the real problems like the environment
jewels...IF they are here "illegal", GET THE HELL OUT!! PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!
@makes me wonder...grow up! Let me guess, you're one of the OWSers. Just another dumb loser. LAWS are here for A. R.E.A.S.O.N.!! GOT IT?
"Yearning to breathe free" is no problem - as long as they follow the friggin' rules! Come here LEGALLY - check in at the front door, broad daylight, assimilate yourself - you're welcome to come in. Come here ILLEGALLY - middle of the night, sneaking in the back way, flaunting your culture over ours - get your ass back to whatever pond your kind of scum crawls out of.
My ancestors follow the first method - the legal one. I don't have a problem with immigrants. I have a problem with illegal invaders. Just remember, unless you're Italian (Ellis Island - WOP - With Out Papers), you're not undocumented - you're illegal.
What pisses me off the most is that many of our own citizens (LGBT) have fewer rights than these illegals do.
HonortheVet. Commandments 8(steal), 9(lie) and 10(covet) plus commandment to respect the government and authority.
Travis before you spout of about what you know about Mexico whaer you lived read this.

@ wje37fcsm
Actually, this isn't a Christian or a religeous argument so leave that shyt at the door.. We are talking about illegal immigrants.. You know the people that are crippling to the point of total inability to sustain our populations welfare system.. We're in a dang recession.. We can't afford to take on the needy and underpriveldged from other Countries.. That being said, if you take proper course and come here legally I don't have a problem with that.. Pay taxes and work like everyone else.. It pisses me off to no end that I as a Mother of three teenagers has to work and struggle to raise three teens in this self imposed recession, while "I am proud to be illegal" takes my hard earned tax dollars away and isn't liable to contribute to society.. Bunk that.. You can't do this anywhere else on earth.. WAKE UP AMERICA this is NOT what our forefathers had in mind, and our President is to blame for not taking this seriously.. ALL OF THESE PEOPLE SHOULD IMMEDIATELY be deported.. I don't always like where I live, but I can't take off to the Bahamas and expect them to foot the bill..
@ JewelsNewLeaf: you really need to learn how to read statistics for yourself and not always think that a magazine or the news is going to present everything without a slant.
and it was pointed out earlier, undocumented is a lot different than ILLEGAL.
and it's sad about your grandparents but not everyone that is here legally is treated well, shabby wages are a problem for a lot of people, not just one race over another. my legal entrance great-grandparents were not treated real well either, but again that kind of thing happens regardless of race.
and Hispanics are still being 'singled' out (i am assuming you mean singled out, even though you put 'signaled') by others as illegals because there are SO MANY OF THEM.
and i don't know what
means, if you are saying lived through, then i say again, plenty of legal US citizen have lived through inequality of all types, so boo hoo for your parents.
and if you can't find a lawsuit brought by someone showing inequality in the work place yourself, i say you didn't pay attention in those US paid for classes you were in all those years.
Look at all the racist comments again. This is the most commented story everytime....illegal alien stories! So disgusting how so many people have such hate in their so called law abiding christians souls!!! I bet half the people on here have broken many laws and have many of the same problems. There are good and bad in every race and so stop talking as if every illegal alien is a law breaking thug with no job.
Amanda 2017567 - Your story says alot about this system. It sounds like they make many mistakes and cause alot of undue suffering to innocent people. I myself am not against illegal aliens because all these people placing claim on this country are here illegally themselves. After much bloodshed they feel as though they are owners of this country somehow. They broke more laws than any other race ever has when they killed many innocent people and stole land......Greedy thieving hypocritical race! They still cause many or our problems in todays society with their greed and corruption......
Candlewycke, deportations are way up under Obama than they were from the Bush administration. His administration has even targeted illegals that have committed other crimes not related to being here illegally. So he is doing EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT! But Faux News has told you different. Wow he is doing what you want and you still don't like him. Face it folks there are millions of illegals here. Most from Central America. But lots of Irish, Polish, and other Europeans.
No, my case is not rare. There are thousands of people like me, undocumented but treated as 'illegal':
An official Immigration and Customs Enforcement database, obtained under the Freedom of Information Act, showed a U.S. detainee population of exactly 32,000 on the evening of Jan. 25.
The data show that 18,690 immigrants had no criminal conviction, not even for illegal entry or low-level crimes like trespassing. Substantial numbers of detainees, from 177 countries in the data provided, are not illegal immigrants at all. Many of the longest-term non-criminal detainees are asylum seekers fighting to stay here because they fear being killed in their home country. Others are longtime residents who may be eligible to stay under other criteria, or whose applications for permanent residency were lost or mishandled, the lawyers say.
So people need to stop saying that the 'undocumented' are the same as 'illegal'. We aren't the same, although the government treats us the same. I'm hearing people say that 'undocumented' is a politically correct term for 'illegal', and don't understand that it is NOT. We undocumented are a separate group of people who have committed no crimes, not even come here illegally, and for people to say 'deport them all' isn't taking this into account.
Even worse are those who say to take us all out and shoot us--one of the guards at the deportation camp used to do that, pick one of us out, tell us to strip and kneel, say we were a waste of air and space and point a gun at the person and pull the trigger. The gun was empty, of course, but I rather get the feeling that many of the people posting on here would cheerfully do the same (with a loaded gun) to deportation camp detainees, whether truly illegal or just undocumented.
I don't advocate for understanding of the illegals, I advocate for understanding the difference between illegal and undocumented--and once you understand the difference, then you can start making immigration laws fair for all of us, including kids like me.
The complain because they can't find work and can't feed their kids....
Then the reason for them crossing illegally in the first place no longer exists.
They have two choices now, keep heading north or go home.
The Democrats have a huge history of pandering to Hispanics and other minorities. During President Clinton's 2nd run for office, he authorized a change in the immigration laws that resulted in huge waves of illegal / undocumented aliens being sworn in as American citizens. How do I know this? I was a management level employee at the Miami Convention Center where the ceremonies were held. We processed 10,000 new citizens every Sunday for many months (2 ceremonies @ 5,000 each) . This was just in Miami. When taking the oath of citizenship, and asked if they would uphold the Constitution, etc.; 5,000 people in unison would say "Si!", because they could not speak English. This country is going down the toilet. We (American born citizens) cannot pay to support all of the "illegal aliens" that are in this country. They are pulling us down, it is an expense that we as a nation cannnot and should not have to shoulder. It is beyond comprehension that these illegal aliens are riding around on a bus, making scheduled appearances at rallies across the country and immigration is doing NOTHING to right this wrong. An example is being made and it's not the right one. As elected representatives of the people of this still great country, it is the responsibility of our government leaders to uphold our laws and to make decisions that are truly in the best interest of it's citizens, and not their political party.
Brilliant. They left a third world sh!thole because it was so crappy and now they want to turn the US into a third world sh!thole to accomodate their 'culture?' Know how to stop this overnight? Do away with all the entitlements and entitlement fraud. Like mice in a house, they are there because of the food. Put all the food in mouse-proof containers and the mice leave.
Perhaps it is time for these people to fight to turn their homeland into a real country, if they have the energy to protest here, why not in their homeland? They'll get shot over there? Hmmm, all the more reason to fight for the homeland. Running away isn't an answer, if enough people get together they can overthrow governments. They also used to live in countries that have no second amendment rights, but the anti-gun crowd never thinks about that one.
I've seen a lot of hate filled Newsvine columns but the winners are those that talk about Illegal immigration. Several years ago, before the Obama administration, I was blissfully unaware of the simmering illegal immigrant problem in this country. Even though I worked in a big northeast city amid dozens of languages, I could proudly drive through Canada on my way to Wisconsin with nothing more than a drivers license. Then one day my co-worker, himself an immigrant with a green card who owned a business beckoned me to a noontime anti-illegal-immigration rally being held in a large room in the Statehouse. Well I never heard such a pile of hate fill propaganda in my whole life. I thought I was transported to a pre-WWII beer hall in Munich. What finally made me stalk out in disgust was the woman state rep who claimed that illegals carried diseases.
I'm really curious about why it is that illegal immigration draws out such vitriol? I simply see it as a bureaucratic problem, one of simple documentation and procedures for immigration and employment in a foreign country. But for some reason this simple act of trying to make a better life for oneself and your children stirs up deep emotions and not only here and now but all around the world. I really don't want to bring up Nazi Germany (my ethnic group if you really care to know) but immigration and status of the Jews and others was the main reason for their system of concentration camps and executions, policies that have sullied the reputations of Germans for generations. Don't let it happen here.
Time for American Citizens to start taking matters into our own hands and run the illegals out in our own way. Government has decided not to enforce the Law concerning Illegals in America. When the Government refuses to enforce the existing Laws then IMO there are no Laws to bind anyone else. Let's get with it.........starting NOW!
"We have confronted fear of potentially being arrested, but we believe that it is worth fighting,”
I laughed so hard when I read that part. Give me a break. No one is going to arrest you. At least, not while Obama is in office. Get over yourselves and back over the border, or ocean. Then apply LEGALLY to be a citizen and PAY TAXES LIKE THE REST OF US. Paying only Sales Tax and Rent isn't going to cover it.
Laws change everyday.. Deal with it, which is the process of growing up. The immigration issues needs to be dealt with, and I'm sorry that you can't have it completely YOUR way. Guess what, they are deporting most, but not all. Anyone with a bit of law & economic knowledge, understands why. Call me names, an Obama lover and whatever else your simple minded ideology can produce. Doesn't change the fact that I'm an American & have the right to vote.
Amanda - Unless I have you mistaken for another person, I saw you on here with your story many months ago - perhaps even a year ago. You had the exact same story then about injustice and failures in the system.
What have you done over the last year to change your story for the better?
Also, are you in favor of opening the border for a free-flow of passage for ANYONE? If not, where do YOU propose to draw the line on illegal border crossing? Are you in favor of allowing all law-abiding Hispanics to come into America and allowing Mexico to continue its free-fall into chaos, ran by cartels? Or do you promote a unified Mexico that turns on its gangs and cartels where the people say "NO MORE"! If Mexico were a better place to live - free of corruption at ALL levels, perhaps the people would stay and live in the wonderful country!
Are you in favor of eliminating nations / nationality / national identity? Are you in favor of getting rid of the flag of Mexico being flown in the United States of America? Are you in favor of eliminating the flag of the United States of America? After all, the flag represents a NATIONAL identity! For those south of the border to enter this country ILLEGALLY and wave THEIR NATIONS flag in my face and try to FORCE me to accept them as just another citizen is insanity. Can't you see that??? WE ARE THE USA! WE ARE NOT MEXICO!
My question is this, how does the United States of America remain a sovereign nation if we loose our borders, allow a free-flow of ILLEGAL entry, remove the identifying factors that make us US citizens, and allow anarchy from an ILLEGAL element to define who we will be in the future? (Doesn't this last part sound a lot like Mexico today???)
I really don't mean to beat you up, but you have a strange interpretation of what it means to be a citizen of the United States of America...???
Come on people!! Leave the "illegals" ALONE!! Just put the employer in jail for hiring them! I mean a STIFF, STIFF fine and 5 years in jail for the FIRST offense! Problem solved. NO jobs, NO problems. They will leave in droves.
this is the worst display of illegal aliens. as a legal immigrant, now a citizen, i am very angry to the point of full blown hate to these illegal aliens, whose actions are freely defecating, urinating, spitting the american soil. all of these illegal aliens have no rights to insult the citizens & legal residents, therefore must be arrested, deported for their despicable actions. what is it the government cannot understand the word illegal is illegal, twisting this words to undocumented aliens for their own self interests, do not change the fact, these illegal aliens are violators, lawbreakers of the laws of a sovereign country, the USA. these illegal aliens know damn well, only in america, they can all do these deplorable actions. try doing the same action in any other countries, see where they all will end up........the slammers, hefty fine, then back where they all came from. none of these illegal aliens protestors can qualify for legal alien status, so this is their only way of flexing their muscles to manipulate the dust head, idiotic government on their side. citizens must never forget the government are the people who are angry, disgusted by this event, you all know what steps you can do to stop this madness. folks just think about it, if you are violators, lawbreakers of the USA laws, you get convicted, sent to jail. so why these illegal aliens are so trigger happy, to say to the american society, illegality is power........not arrested is sickening to the core of the fabric of american values.
As the son of parents who immigrated here LEGALLY (don't believe the lies America has some of the most liberal immigration laws in the WORLD) I am living proof it does happen.
Now who exactly pays for these "Dreamers" when they go to Cal Berkley or get law degrees?
Do their minimum wage laborer or domestic workers parents pay for their "in state tuition"?
No my son who is Mexican -AMERICAN pays. He pays with a smaller Pell grant, higher tuition and increased student loan interest.
My kid is not alone every Caucasian, African America, Asian and Native American kids pays the same price.
Want to see why the Governor of Arizona is fighting this BS move by Obama?
Search Pima County Sheriff Dept at the bottom right of the page is the Pima County's Most Wanted.
You will be as amazed as I am ashamed 80% of the pictures are Mexicans.
@happytimesarehearagain
So wait, they broke the rules so they should be rewarded? What about the hundreds of thousands of people that apply for visas through the legal channel. Screw them because Mexico is so close and these people are already in the US? For every illegal immigrant that you plan on making legal through some quick pass system, you're screwing someone who did things legally in the first place. I rather they deport the millions of illegal immigrants and bring over an equal amount of legal applicants that are waiting in line.
Take the risk and pay the price when you get caught. Is there a big enough net to catch all of them during these protests? CRIMINALS.
Stop them and send them back. We love this country too, but we are not trying to take advantage of it by being illegal. A lot of people say nobody else will do the migrant work or low paying jobs. Put the people receiving welfare that don't have a physicians documentation that they can't work, do those jobs to earn their welfare check. Enforce what we have going now instead of trying to make up bs programs that will not work. But the fact that they are proud and have a bus and all is so disheartening, and they should have been stopped the first five miles of their "fun little bus trip".
When I manage to stop laughing, I'll give Obama and the dems a standing ovation. Anyone who didn't see this coming was either blind or stupid. Too funny.
@Amanda
Then you should probably ask these illegal immigrant groups to stop calling themselves undocumented.
Geez the nitwits are increasing by the numbers. For one, my family pays taxes at the end of the year, @!$%#. For two I said a white person filing for inequality due to their race, in the work place, not anyone.
@ Victor they don't qualify for federal financial aid, nor does financial aid pay for a education at Cal Berkley, Stetson or any other law school in US. They can QUALIFY for in-state tuition, which goes by their income & covers maybe 3% of the cost of law school. Stetson alone is about 36,000 a year to attend, I'm attending Pre-Law a USF which will cut my cost by 2/3 to finish my law degree at Stetson. And yes I qualify for in-state tuition and have a loan that will take me about a decade to pay off.
We taxpayers know you're here. Millions of you.
You take away resources in our schools, our hospitals and services.
And best of all it's all free for you.
Now that we know you are here - GO AWAY
@michael72
Uh, all illegal immigrants ARE law breakers. They broke the law when they crossed the border illegally. They break the law every day when they don't pay taxes.
And way to still be in the 1700s. Are we still pissed Germany now for WWII? I mean, that was only 70 years ago instead of 300. Oh wait, that's right, they're supporting Europe.
Don't you just love that defiant scowl on their faces. These people have no respect for us. They are of this ilk:
"Go back to Boston ! Go back to Plymouth Rock, Pilgrims! Get out! We are the future. You are old and tired. Go on. We have beaten you. Leave like beaten rats. You old white people. It is your duty to die. Through love of having children, we are going to take over. - Augustin Cebada, Brown Berets
"They're afraid we're going to take over the governmental institutions and other institutions. They're right. We will take them over . . . We are here to stay." - Richard Alatorre, Los Angeles City Council.
"The American Southwest seems to be slowly returning to the jurisdiction of Mexico without firing a single shot." - Excelsior, the national newspaper of Mexico
"We are politicizing every single one of these new citizens that are becoming citizens of this country . . ... I gotta tell you that a lot of people are saying, "I'm going to go out there and vote because I want to pay them back." - Gloria Molina, Los Angeles County Supervisor
"Remember 187--proposition to deny taxpayer funds for services to non-citizens--was the last gasp of white America in California." - Art Torres, Chairman of the California Democratic Party
"We have an aging white America ... They are not making babies. They are dying. The explosion is in our population . . . I love it. They are @!$%#ting in their pants with fear. I love it." - Professor Jose Angel Gutierrez, University of Texas
Bottom line is that the general public may not dislike the illegals individually per se, but the fact that they chose to come to this country, either legally and then did not renew their visa's or came illegally and then expect to be given "carte blanche" access, when others immigrants do it legally, is totally wrong and they should be deported along with their families and if they wish to come back then they can go through the proper channels and do it correctly. Why would the residents of this country want people here that lie and cheat? Why would you want to support people like this? Do you want to live next door to someone that you know lies and cheats??? Do you want your kids to learn from the other kids that they lie and cheat??? If you can't do it correctly, like many of the other before us have done it correctly, then you don't have the integrity and the pride that you claim to have to be a part of this nation. Go back to square #1 and start over... and do it right if you want to be here.
@Lush
I don't care if you're white, black, yellow, green, or rainbow. Get in line with the other legal applicants.
@ Patty - Virginia Beach - yes Obama is definitely pandering for votes, but not Farmer's votes. He wouldn't bother with a group that only represents aprox. 2% of the American population. Every Farmer I know wants nothing to do with Obama as he has not helped the economy one bit and lets Farmers be villianized "as getting rich subsidies they don't deserve." As if he knows the first thing about farming....
Oh wait, I forgot he is going after the 2% gay vote. Guess they are more important than Farmers. Obama likes to pander to the squeaky wheel, not to hard working Americans who are the backbone of this country......
"Figuring that we have deported some 1.3 million undocumented in the last 3 years, if these individuals are stealing out jobs, than why is our unemployment rate still at 8.3?"
Because the economy has declined more swiftly than the rate that these deportations have occurred. Surely that notion occurred to you, right? Let's take for example a recent month, in which the media touted the creation of 163,000 jobs in one month as "moderate improvement", and "mixed news" for the current administration.
No. That's BAD news, because our economy needs to create over 250,000 jobs per month just to match the growth of our work-force population, and thus keep unemployment even. 163,000 jobs is BAD news. It means 90,000 too few jobs were created to maintain the current rate of unemployment. Now, to muddy the water further, you take into account that folks who have ceased looking for work are no longer counted as part of the "Unemployment Rate". . .and that our labor-force participation rate has declined drastically in the last 4 years. . ..
Well, you get the idea.
They have a website where they are soliciting donations and asking people to send messages to Obama and a ton of other people. nopapersnofear.org
They probably would prefer I not send messages on their behalf.
Someone said 'deported 1.3 million' illegals...
OK, look at a map of the US / Mexican border. Consider it to be a finely dotted line. Every dot represents an illegal crossing point. Every day there might be 10, 20, even 50 illegal entry's into the USA. Every day of the year at the majority of "dots", with fewer crossings at some locations depending on weather in certain times of the year. Add up those numbers.
Then to those numbers, add in the total births to families who have come here illegally. The clear majority of border crossers are of child-bearing age.
Those numbers when added together mean we may very possibly have a net "GAIN" in illegal population in the USA. My crude math based on guesses and SWAG data leads me to believe we would have to deport more like 2,000,000 per year to get ahead & not have all illegals removed for 2 decades.
Try catching "Border Wars" on National Geographic! It is an eye-opener as to the extent of illegal crossing, as well as to the efforts we put into stopping this. From their web page:
It's only "racist" because you can't come up with a valid reason for these people being allowed to break the law. That "racist" cry is a crutch for those that have no other defense. Here's some rope for you, let's see what you do with it; Are illegal immigrants a race?
Did you hear that, "thousands"! How many thousands... 5,000? Let's do the math again...
If 5,000 ILLEGALS make it into this country every day, that equals 1,825,000 ILLEGALS every year - year in and year out. Deporting 1.3 million over 3 years doesn't seem like very many any more, huh?
@ Moxxie, did you really just say that? OMG how disgusting! Better go back to your compound and shine your boots and please do not pro create! No need for any little Moxxie's running around spewing such hateful things!!
@ Travis 1944, you had great words, especially about how these people are the ones being victimized and used as slaves pretty much and working very hard at very low pay! Trying to feed their families. Our Government has a purpose behind all this controversy and in the end it will be to benefit themselves. The greedy monsters!!!
Yeah, this is probably the worst possible thing they could have done for their cause. They're just putting sympathetic politicians in a difficult situation, and reducing the chance of the reforms they want ever being implemented.
Amanda, Maybe you are a poster case for what can go wrong, but that still isn't a reason to let millions of others reside in the country illegally. Get it straightened out and quit whining. If there weren't millions of others abusing the system you wouldn't be having the problems your having now.
Agreed Michael, and I do find the rest of you on this board spewing vitriol to be tiresome and uneducated.
Just to cover, briefly, a few facts.
Most illegals are employed in agriculture. They are paid as separate sub-contractors, which means that the owner doesn't have to provide documentation on them, and pays them by the units they pick and pack, not by the hour. This allows the owners to pay them less than minimum wage without being caught. However, the checks, made out to these undocumented immigrants, HAS THE TAXES TAKEN OUT JUST LIKE YOUR CHECK FROM YOUR BOSS. Yes, illegal immigrants PAY TAXES! Not only that, but they DO NOT COLLECT WELFARE OR SOCIAL SECURITY.
Sigh... what these means, to the slower members of our reading community today, is that they are bolstering our failing welfare and social security programs, by contributing (involuntarily) to a system they can never get benefit from.
If you want to complain about them, complain in a way that is true. Talk about how they generally go directly to the emergency room for everything, and most of those debts are filed as "uncollectable debts", which means we wind up paying more for healthcare. That's a real issue.
The immigrants are not lazy moochers here to suck the system dry, they're typically very uneducated, hardworking, and humble people, who are typically abused by our system.
Once again, I am an immigrant who came here legally, and I do not support the attitude of the people in this story, which is essentially - I came here illegally, but I've been here a long time, so I shouldn't have any consequences. Again, just because it's hard doesn't make it ok to break the law.
That being said, hs321, you sir, are full of crap. First of all, following the same theory of xenophobia prevalent on this board, if you're white, you're a damn illegal. Keep in mind that Mexicans have much more right to be here then those of European descent, since they are actually "Native Americans". The fact that we call them illegal immigrants is pretty damn insulting. I still respect borders and laws of individual countries, but the fact that you are bringing race and making this "Hispanic Vs Caucasian", let me be the first to inform you, you sir, and way the hell in the wrong on that one.
Sorry, I must have missed this the first read through, but:
MIchael R1
Imagine if our forefathers did not stand up to England and fight for their beliefs and rights but instead fled to another country and take the easy way out like these people are doing.
Michael - HOLY SH!T are you kidding me? They didn't find the goddamn war for independence in England you buffoon!!! They went to a different f!@#$ continent! Please, please tell me you're joking, or you've just screwed my faith in humanity for the day.
Also, Honor Thy Vet, trying to bring God into this: Exodus 22:21: You shall not wrong or oppress a resident alien, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt.
Bible also states that those who do not care for or mistreat alien residents are liable to answer to God.
You brought it up. Enjoy burning in hell (as you said illegal immigrants would). As$hole
Okay ...this is some really astonishing jacked up @!$%#.
They want to share their culture with us forcibly ? WTF !!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't understand why everybody and their cattle think it is their god given right to just barge into this country anytime they want ....
I mean okay - i understand that people who were brought here when they were children need some special consideration as they cannot be held responsible for their parent's fault plus this is the only country they have ever known.
I also kinda understand - even though it chaffs the F$%#$%# outta me - that 11 million or so illegals who are already here since a long long long time need to be given some accommodation - only because it is logistically and monetarily impossible to repatriate 11 million people back to their countries....
But this whole posturing by the illegals that it is their birthright to invade this country is nonsense....i am so enraged by this @!$%#.
@ Desertmo - Uh......I think all white's are here illegally too! They killed many Native Americans and stole much land and then placed claim on this territory! They pretty much bullied their way here. Many of your ancestors roots are not of this country so why don't you people get the hell out of this country and go back where you belong? Hypocrites!! None of you are any better than any other race but that is what comes out in all of your comments. You all speak as though you are a superior race. I don't get that menatality at all because the white race is the most destructive hateful, greedy, self righteous race of them all. I know I sound prejudice myelf and that is probably because that is what you people bring out in others with all this hate!! Once one says something then another follows like sheep!! It's tiring to hear you all talk so high and mighty!
And yes, I am very upset still over past history when I hear all these people whose ancestors also came from a foreign country before any one of you settled here! This country was taken under much misery and bloodshed.
I can't change what happened, Goddess knows I wish I could. I can't change the fact that I was adopted, that Dad and Mom never told me, that they died before telling me, that I didn't have the adoption paper, that I was classified as 'illegal' when I was simply missing the adoption paper. I expect I probably felt the same way as the Jews did in Germany of the late 30's, when someone said 'Papers, Please' and then finding out that everything they(I) owned was going to be confiscated by the government, and they (I) were/was going to a deportation camp...
What I can change is how people see us. By coming on here and posting my story, I hope that I can get people to understand the difference between 'illegal' and 'undocumented'. Only then can things be made fair for us undocumenteds.
See my post at 1.15 for my solution to some of the current problems with the immigration system.
No, I'm not in favor of getting rid of the Mexican flag being flown. Not unless there were no Irish flags outside Irish pubs, Italian flags outside Italian restaurants, Korean flags outside Korean restaurants, etc. If those flags came down then ys, the Mexican flags should too. until then, I don't see a problem. You can't forbid a Mexican flag outside a taqueria without forbidding an Irish flag outside a pub or an Italian cucina.
Not everyone who waves a Mexican flag entered illegally. Not everyone who flies an Irish or Italian flag entered legally. So why is it just the Mexican flag that bothers you, and not flags from every country? Would you like the flag taken down from the front of the Mexican Embassy, the Irish embassy, the British embassy? For pity's sake, the British union Jack is on the front covers of most Brit rockers' album covers, (The Who) they paint their flag on their guitars, why does that not bother you?
I'm not in favor of getting rid of the US flag, either, though I feel there should be more stars on it, like for Puerto Rico and other American territories. There's nothing wrong with a national identity unless you think that being from one nation makes you a better person than someone from another nation. We're all the same. We're all people. Might be different colors on the outside, speak a different language, but we all bleed red and in the end we're all going to be dead.
Whoever said they wanted that? Our constitution wouldn't allow it anyway.
So Travis, does your Bible say it's ok for your own government to treat it's citizens who do not agree with it's policies as criminals? I gather they get a go past hell free card from your God?
Gunga, they said "Invite you to get to know us". Not share their culture "forcibly" as you stated. Also, saying that they think it's their God Given Right to Barge into this country... do remember this is their homeland, not yours. Europeans drew lines in the sand... Mexicans are native Americans.
Speaking of which, Michael, while I stated that bringing race into this argument puts Caucasians at a strongly logical disadvantage, I didn't want to start a "White People are Bad" type of conversation. That's not constructive... also, I'm white. My wife is Mexican.
I'm still not in agreement with immigrating illegally, just because it's too hard to do it legally, but let's try not to make this into a racist, xenophobic slog-phest where brown people are good and white people are bad, or vice versa.
Racism doesn't (or at least shouldn't) win you any arguments with logical people.
Only in America, I was responding to HonorThyVet quoting scripture and talking about illegal aliens going to hell, but yes, actually Jesus did say that we need to follow the laws of God more so than the laws of man. For example, say you are conscripted into the military. The bible clearly states that "All who live by the sword shall die by the sword", and Jesus stated that none of his followers shall "practice war anymore". At that point, you have a choice, between obeying your government, or obeying the laws of God.
However the Bible does say little on breaking immigration laws, apart from the requirements to care and respect the alien residents in your midst.
I think Jesus commandment to pay back Cesar's things to Cesar, and God's things to God, would apply in this situation. If these people could have done things a legal way, and chose not to, since it was easier to do it illegally, that is against Bible Principles.
Anyways, I was just bringing up scripture to show HonorthyVet's comment was ridiculous.
thank you mr obama and holder for upholding the laws of our country. you both are doing such a great job!
My interpretation of a US citizen is someone who is willing to take the following Oath with complete honesty and be willing to follow through:
The Oath of Allegiance to the
United States of America
I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all
allegiances and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or
sovereignty, of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen;
That I will support and defend the Constitution and the laws of the United States of
America against all enemies, foreign and domestic;
That I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same;
That I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law;
That I will perform noncombatant service in the Armed Forces of the United States
when required by law;
That I will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when
required by law; and
That I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of
evasion; so help me God.
I have no problem with any of it except insofar as my deity of choice is a Goddess instead of a God, but many natural-born Americans do have problems with this. Ever seen how many people try to duck out of jury duty? How many people dodged the draft?
Two days ago on the bus coming back from work, two guys got in an argument and one stabbed the other right in front of the whole bus. When they fell against the bus door the driver opened it, let both men fall out in the middle of the street, and closed it then drove away very quickly.
Out of eighteen people on that bus I was the ONLY one who called 911 to report a crime (and I was the only person on the bus who was not white or black.) I asked everyone to give me their name and phone number so when I followed up with the cops later I could give them the names and numbers of other witnesses. No one came forward.
It surprised me that I, as an immigrant, was more willing to report a crime than a bus full of US citizens, most likely natural-born. There were three black girls sitting across the aisle from me loudly complaining how our city is a ghetto and crime rates were horrible and how someone should do something about it—and yet they were the first ones to tell me to 'shut the f*** up' when I asked them for their names and numbers as witnesses to the incident.
That is not my definition of a citizen.
(BTW--I followed up yesterday with a call to the public transportation safety office, and they said they called the bus driver after they got my report to ask if anything happened and the bus driver denied anything happened. It wasn't until he got off shift at midnight and they pulled the surveillance video from the bus that they saw the incident. Thankfully I typed up a statement when I got home that evening so they have that now and they can try to find the people involved.)
@michael72
Way to assume I'm white. My parents immigrated here from China when I was young. They worked their asses off at McDonalds and retirement homes while going to school and supporting a family. My parents were treated like crap at those jobs and now he's an engineer and my she's a doctor. They're the American Dream come true.
It's people like you that there's still so many hate crimes in the world. You're blaming people who had NOTHING to do with the events that you're mad about. Blaming the first settlers and whining isn't going to change the fact that the US became a country with immigration laws. I have no problems with any race, but like I said earlier, if you're here illegally, I don't care if you're white as bread, get in line with the other legal applicants.
Love to. Have tried. They don't like me because I wasn't really 'illegal' like them, and citizens who I've talked to don't think I'm 'really' a citizen either. I don't have some of the rights and freedoms a citizen does, but I don't have the total loss of rights that being 'illegal' has either. I'm somewhere in the middle of both, a second-class citizen.
I did get it straightened out, by dint of much letter-writing for three years and finally finding the paper USCIS needed. I apologize if I came across as 'whining, I'm simply trying to point out that there is a difference between 'undocumented' and 'illegal' that most people don't understand.
I am not having problems now, unless you count the stigma of being a former illegal' and how that messed up my life. I have no choice but deal with it now. Fortunately, my children won't have to deal with Immigration, ever--they are part Native American and second-generation Polish American through their father. They don't even look like me--first time I went to my oldest son's school they thought I was the nanny because he doesn't look Asian at all, and as they get older they look more and more like my husband. For which I am truly thankful.
@ Travis 1944, I agree totally with many of your comments, I think they have to be the most intelligent words on here and so your right I shouldn't be making this into a race issue just to try to make my point. I get so heated reading all of this ignorant trash talk that it brought out the worst in me. I am actually with a caucasian and I am Native American and very proud of my race and culture. I love all people really and so I really just want to see more constructive arguments on these topics rather than what has been getting posted. And based more on facts than warped ideals.....or based on peoples ignorant assumptions and prejudices.
And that is only the "knowns". It's not even taking into consideration all the anchor babies that come with that number.
@ Desertmo, I guess I assumed wrong.....so your not caucasian....just a law abiding citizen. Like many on this site claim....and this what they base as their reasons for posting such hateful racist crap! Yes I can get very angry when I read comments from the very people that have caused such destruction to my people and yours and any other minorities. I am not whining as you say! I am simply pointing out how hypocritical of them to ask for people to obide by the laws, yet they broke many in the process of wiping out many of my fellow Native American Tribes and mistreating many other races simply based on the color of their skin. And I am no where near the reason that there are hate crimes against other races. It is all due to the caucasian race who seem to feel superior to all of mankind. The proof is in the pudding....just keep reading these hateful posts. Don't blame me for pointing out the obvious!!
Amanda - I went back and read 1.15. It was collapsed by the community, so I did not read all the thought you had put into how you would fix the problem - otherwise I wouldn't have asked the question.
I guess when I see Irish wearing a flag with a clover on it, I don't see it as them trying to change the United States of America into something else. When I see Hispanics marching in the streets and saying things like the poster listed in 1.168, I am enraged! By the way... The comments in 1.168 are all actual statements made by Hispanic leaders with positions in the United States of America. And there are many, many other comments just like them. Just Google it and you can easily find them.
The Irish aren't taking over and forcing their beliefs / culture on us, but it sure does feel that the ILLEGALS from south of the border are trying to force change.
Your case has got to be the one in 100,000 case. Your circumstances MUST be RARE. We cannot consider your situation as "the rule". You are the exception. That being said, lets focus on the rule. Using general math, the deportation rate for those deemed here illegally is NOT addressing the issue. Deportations are only addressing a quarter of the growing illegal population, therefore, the Hispanic influx of ILLEGAL immigration is not being addressed under current protocol.
It would be nice if we ended all wars and brought the troops home to close the borders. But realistically, sister that ain't gonna happen! It is sad to say, but there are those among us who will tire of politicians not doing anything and take matters into their own hands. Bullets will fly and blood will be spilled. It is scary to think about, but I wonder what will be the trigger for this nation to fall into civil war. Something like this could be the trigger. And all the while it is going on, we will look back at this time and say "we could have done something to prevent it". We will lament for the 'good old days', but they will be far removed...
I appreciate many of your thoughts, but think this nation would rather devolve into civil war than to take on the tough issues NOW! God bless America!
Amanda -
Ask ANY law enforcement agency in the United States of America about cooperation in crime scene investigation and THEY will tell you the LEAST cooperative among US citizens to cooperate are 1. blacks, and 2. Hispanics, and Hispanics move to the #1 slot if they are illegals.
Since you will be talking with them again regarding your described matter at hand, go ahead and ask the question!
Amanda,
As noble as your cause may be the basic math completely proves my point. Your statistics only prove you are wrong about the frequency where this occurs when you are looking at the grand scheme of things. The total number of mishandled ILLEGALS isn't even the whole number of 18,000+ that you cited. It clearly states mishandled paperwork is only a portion of that 18,000.
It isn't a matter of what YOU see. It is a matter of simple, SIMPLE math! Considering the amount of illegal aliens that are in this country are between 11 - 20 million, that would put people in your own specific situation in the less than 1% category. I mean, that amount on the high side (18,000 of only 11,000,000) would equate to only 0.16%. When I called your case "rare" I was much more accurate than you simply because the math supports my argument and NOT yours. Your personal experiences cannot ever trump basic math, no matter how much you want it to.
It is a case of fact vs. your emotional connection to the issue. You are simply WRONG, my friend!
By definition your case is "rare". Look the word up if you don't believe me!
I am sorry, but you are wasting your time trying to argue that immigration reform and disregard for federal law is okay, solely based on mishandled paperwork. Simply because the people that are knowingly break the law outnumber you by 99%!!!! You and the other small portion of that 18,000 are special cases and always will be. It doesn't change the fact that illegal and undocumented and the same thing in this situation. If your status is not legal, than neither are you, regardless of whether or not it's a clerical error. It is as simple as that. The only difference is you will have a better argument to change that status.
You can't just redefine a world because it effects less than 1% of the illegal population.
Back in the late 1800's the railroad barons were bringing Chinese workers over in droves, the males as labor to build the railroads, the females as brothel fodder. signs outside public buildings were posted in English and in Chinese, the Chinese started campaigning for the same rights and fair wages for fair work as everyone else and people started to complain about the 'yellow peril'.
'If this keeps up we'll all end up speaking Chinese.' 'We'll end up being a Chinese colony.' 'They are taking our jobs and our women.' 'They are stealing land and property.' So the US government banned all immigration from China, passed laws saying Chinese couldn't marry whites, couldn't hold property, set aside communities for the Chinese...those laws stayed on the books until the civil rights movement in the 60's.
I hear a lot of the same rhetoric now..except it's the 'brown peril' now. 'They are taking over'. 'Pretty soon we'll all be speaking Spanish'. 'They are stealing our resources.'
No, I'm not. Per my post 1.147 above:
You do realize that economists are saying that illegal immigration, particularly over the southern border, has stopped growing and is starting to decline, right? From where I'm standing, the way it looks to me, Homeland Security is so desperate to keep up their deportation stats that they will deport legally-adopted 60 year old grandmothers over 60 year old paperwork errors just to keep up their stats and keep their budget growing ($49 million in 2002, $98 billion in 2011) so they've poured money into lobbyists to get legislation like the NDAA for FY2012 passed (with its " discretionary indefinite detention without charge or trial for USC's" clause) and the upcoming 'Enemy Expatriation Act' which will allow the government to strip your citizenship (naturalized or natural born) if they even suspect you of supporting terrorism, no charge or trial needed. And things like supporting animal rights, alternate media, and having more than 7 days worth of food in your house are now all terrorism indicators. You've seen the 'anti-illegal' comments on here. How do you think the American people are going to feel if you're suddenly declared an 'illegal terrorist'? Are they going to have sympathy/pity for you?
Bringing troops home to secure the border may not be necessary. Homeland Security tested the WAASS (Wide Angle Aerial Surveillance System) in Nogales, AZ mounted to those Predator drones that can see through walls into citizens' houses; the FAST, (Future Attribute Screening Technology) the behavior assessment software program that is being tested 'in an undisclosed location in the Northeast (recent complaints have surfaced from Boston Airport earlier this week of people being profiled by a 'behavior assessment computer program' so I think we found where FAST is being tested) It uses things like increased respiration, increased pulse, shifting eyes, and increased heartbeat to predict who is about to commit a crime so they can be arrested before committing a crime; and the portable DNA analyzers that will match your DNA to anyone currently detained for any reason so you too can be investigated for possible illegality. I'm gonna be SOL if it turns out I have a blood relative out there interned in Guantanamo Bay--even if I didn't know I had blood relatives, having been abandoned at birth, I could still be detained for having terrorist ties.
Lolly,
Amanda had facts, you have bullsh%t. She showed that of the US detainee population of 32,000, 18,690 immigrants had no criminal convictions, WHICH INCLUDE CROSSING THE BORDER ILLEGALLY!. You're pulling numbers our of your ass. The study only was showing those who were being detained, not the statistics for the entire estimated population of undocumented residents in the US.
By the way, your last statement, you can't just redefine a world because it effects less than 1% of the illegal population. So in another words, if the US were nuked enough to wipe out New York City 8 1/2 times, killing every man, woman, and child, you wouldn't think that should incur WMD reform simply because it affects less than 1% of the world's population?
If it happens to one person, it's unacceptable. If it's happening to thousands, it's a travesty. Have some integrity!
Amanda I would like to apologize for all of the hatred, anger and complete lack of sympathy you have received here today.....that you have received since you first started experiencing your problems. Sadly most of the people who come here to comment are very selfish, angry and bitter people who only think of themselves and don't really take the time to fully read people's posts before berating them or calling them names. I truly hope that your life with your family, from here on out, is one filled with laughter, joy, good health and no more problems with the government. You can try over and over to get people to understand something...but sadly when people let anger, hatred and bigotry define who they are (which sadly most people on the newsvine do) then they can't listen to reason or have an ounce of sympathy. I truly wish you and your family all the best and I will keep you in my prayers.
Lolly said:

Yes, but if you look at the highlighted portion, that 18,000 number are not even guilty of having come illeglly and have no convictions for any other crimes.
Considering the amount of illegal aliens that are in this country are between 11 - 20 million,
thats an estimate, if we knew how many there are they wouldn't be illegal.
that would put people in your own specific situation in the less than 1% category. I mean, that amount on the high side (18,000 of only 11,000,000) would equate to only 0.16%. If you want to break it down to basic math, out of a population of 32,000 'illegal' detainees, 18,000 were not even 'illegal'. If you use this as a sample of the estimated number of 'illegals' here, that means that percentage of the people estimated to be 'illegal' out there aren't.
By definition your case is "rare". Look the word up if you don't believe me!
Yes. Rare, but more common than people would think.
I am sorry, but you are wasting your time trying to argue that immigration reform and disregard for federal law is okay, solely based on mishandled paperwork.
i never ONcE said that. My point isto define for people the difference between 'illegal' and 'undocumented' and to not lump us 'undocumented'in with 'illegals because we haven't broken any laws and committed no crimes. if yo want to make missing a piece of paper a crime, thenchange the laws.
illegal and undocumented are NOT the same and shouldn't be treated as such. In this country in order to prove a crime has been committed, you have to be able to prove intent. We undocumenteds didn't intend to lose our paperwork, the governnment didn't 'intend' to lose it either (we hope.) The system arbitrarily assigns intent where there is none and then sends us to deportation. There is no appeal and no recourse. Because undocumenteds haven't committed any crimes, we're never arrested, which means no judge, hearing, lawyer, trial phone calls. you're simply detained until you prove you aren't or you accept deportation. Illegals are arrested, they get hearings in front of judges, and congress says Homeland security has to resolve it in six months--they have to be either deported or allowed to stay within six months. The undocumented don't get those its indefinite detention until we give them whatever they are asking for.
You can't just redefine a world because it effects less than 1% of the illegal population.
I'm not asking for the 'world' to be redefined, I'm asking for people to understand the difference between 'illegal' and undocumented. That's it.
Then hop on the next bus back to Mexico or wherever the f*ck you came from. Take the hint. And take your anchor vermin with you, too. You won't be missed.
@arguesforsport
These laws that so many are supposedly so concerned about is a crutch to spew out the hateful racist crap they have brewing inside.....
We want to fly our Mexican Flag,
We want to speak our own language
We want to celebrate Mexican Holidays
Blah,Blah,Blah
I am not going to belittle the Mexican People, they are fine people but if they want to be equal then, get legal. If being sent back to Mexico or where ever, is too much to ask, then forget equality you don't deserve it.
People need to understand that no matter how harsh it may sound to deport undocumented people back to their country, immigration laws exist for a very important reason. Without immigration laws a country can't control it's natural resources or meet the financial obligations to it's citizens. These are basic concepts in government so why does our current administration allow this to go unchecked? For those that have not yet seen 2016, you may get a better understanding of our current president and his policies on illegal immigration after seeing it.
tz-3189354
Awesome words.....these people on this newvine are defined by bigotry and hate! And I still say the most angry, hateful self righteous, judgmental, heartless hypocrites ever!!
mmmmmm sigh...
Allright:

HonorThyVet
F@ck you guys
Paul - I agree, but your bitching about their culture isn't cool.
Sboon - Thank God, someone with logic! Why the hell can't the rest of you be like sboon. Still saying the same thing (deport illegals), but without coming across as a racist as@hole.
HonorTheVet - no one gives a @#$ what the Catholic church does now. They support latin america because Latin America supports the church. Non-Latinos have long since abandoned it. And I say again, stop bringing up religion in relation to immigration, the Bible is very clear that you have to care for the resident alien, and says you will be condemned if you don't. So cut the crap. You hate brown people because you're an A-hole, not because God told you so.
@ RI Mom
Exactly....the person that wrote this story definitely did what she set out to do....stir up controversy!
Just_D_Facts.....Your attempt and the attempts of others here to pin this problem on Obama show a complete lack of understanding as to what has occurred and what is occurring.
Under Obama, the number of illegals deported is more than double in three years what it was under Bush for his entire 8 years ! There would be more deported, except that we do not have the staff, courts, holding jails and overall budget to to that. They are reproducing in place with anchor babies, faster than we have the funds to deport them. Every illegal who is picked up on an immigration violation ( it is a misdimeanor , not a felony) is entitled to a full legal hearing before a judge with full legal representation, by law, our law. After that they have the legal right to appeal, and that can take years and lots of administrators, more judges and lawyers, court time courtrooms, etc. We do not have the budget to do this ! On the other hand, an illegal who is convicted of a felony, can be deported without a hearing, very simple procedure ! That is why the present administration is concentrating on deporting felons, because if we cannot afford to deport them all, lets go after the worst actors first and use what funds and staff we have to get rid of the worst. Reality is that we will never have the ability to deport anywhere near the 12 -20 million illegals already here, so lets concentrate on the worst of them and get rid of them. We need to face the fact that since we cannot seal the borders, we will continue to be over run with illegals. That stinks, but is reality. Lets keep deporting the worst of the bunch. Notice how quiet Mitt Romney is about the issue ? That is because he knows that no matter who is in the White House there is not enough ICE staff or money to deport more than we are deporting right now ! We have a real problem, but it needs to be dealt with realisticly. Claiming Obama is to blame is idiocy, there is no way to deport these illegals in big numbers.
omg ...what is racist about demanding that people honor our immigration laws and apply legally if they want to come to US instead of sneaking in and stealing our SSN and burdening our resources ?
I just don't get all you people. Do you mean that we should dissolve the border patrol and the whole visa process and just let anyone walk into the country ?
I am no 'foaming at the mouth' rightie nut ...but you people are driving me @!$%#ing crazy with your stupid @!$%# !!!!
Oh and all you rightie wingnuts ...stop blaming it on Obama or democrats. Those of you who are phoopahing his deporting of 1.5 million illegals in 4 years - Bush deported exactly 1/3rd of that number in 8 years. And it was Bush who first proposed granting Amnesty to the 11 million illegals - a call that was taken up by McCain during 2008. So don't try to make it pin on democrats or Obama.
Was Obama's uncle who is an illegal alien on the bus too?
Why weren't these people arrested and held by ICE for deportation?
There is good news in all of this current administration refusing to enforce the laws stuff. Since the libs agree with Obama that the President has the authority to pick and choose the laws he wants to enforce, then the same is obviously true when Romney becomes President. That means that he is free to ignore how much Congress says he has to spend. So, if Congress passes a budget that calls for $4 trillion in federal spending, he is free to fire everyone in in the worthless Dept. of Education, the EPA and cut down on any other spending he wants. Thus, we could have a balanced budget within a year, regardless of what Congress says. It would get the economy going and prove the libs wrong, yet again, and save our country from disaster. The only question is: will Romney have the guts to do what needs to be done?
We live in the only country in the world where you can drive around the country telling everyone who will listen how you are breaking the law, claim that it is your "civil right" to be able to break those laws, and then not have the federal gov't give a crap. What a disgrace!
Although Obama counted more illegals as deported in Fiscal Year 2011, it does not change the facts that former President Bush deported 2X more illegals than President Obama has and returned 8.8X more illegals than President Obama. Overall President Bush deported and returned 10.2 Million illegals compared to Obama's 1.3 Million.
If it Ain't white it Ain't right, so how stealing the land from the Indians make you all so righteous, see I don't see any American Indians complaining so what gives you the right!
Only to a racist that has no other valid reason to excuse lawbreakers. Are you claiming that illegals, whether entering the country illegally or overstaying visas are not breaking any laws?
I'm Hispanic and there are many other Hispanics here on these boards that are all saying they should go through legal channels. I suppose we're all self-hating racists?
You're conveniently ignoring what most are saying. I have no problem with immigration of any group, just do it legally! The racists are the ones that want their group given special rights and privileges or crying "racist" because people want them to go through proper procedures.
You are overreacting and you missed my point, sweetheart. I am talking PRESENT TIME, not history, and I stand by my post. We do NOT have the resources to take on millions more entrants and their subsequent multiple births into this country. Get it??
The resident alien, is Obama
The aliens sounds more like the Democratic Party than Illegals!
Paul - Oh, shut up.
I feel your pain. It is hard to care about things you don't understand, isn't it?
Good Americans or rotten Americans, America does not have the resources to take on those who want to live here. In addition, they do not having the values that we would like to maintain. I.e., the Mexicans have already overfished their waterways to the point of extinction and are now illegally taking fish from American waters, with no thought to the consequences of their actions.
Honor - go f@# yourself with a spoon
We are already flooded with cartel members trying to kill eachother and instead killing our children! What the HELL would you do for your children? Kill if it ment they live? Fight if it ment they live? RUN if it ment they live? I'm a born and breed Navy BRAT and now I am forced to live in fighting conditions because My husbands papers got screwed by the system. Because they were NOT PROCESSED in a timely matter we all got deported!!! It was either that or live off of wellfare! because now matter how I put it I AM A TEACHER AND that means MY INCOME IS AT POVERTY LEVEL!!! So I chose to be with my husband of 13 years who was brought here as a child and everyday we hear about violance and pray it doesnt come back to our small town on the border of New Mexico and Mexico. I hope I never have to see Three servered heads AGAIN in our town park across the street from the church! I PRAY TO GOD EVERYDAY TO KEEP MY FAMILY SAFE BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT WE HAVE BEEN REDUCED TO!!! SO MR. HONORTHEVET WHERE THE HELL IS YOUR HONOR!! SOUNDS LIKE YOU ARE THE BASE OF ALL EVIL NOT US. YES US BECAUSE I AM AN AMERICAN AND PROUD OF IT AND YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE!!! I AM MARRIED TO A MEXICAN AND PROUD OF IT TOO!!I LIVE IN MEXICO TO STAY MARRIED TO THE LOVE OF MY LIFE! I GREW UP WITH MORALS AND VALUES AND MY CHIEF NAVEL OFFICER DAD TAOUGHT ME THAT MARRAGE IS SACRED AND SHOULD BE HELD UP TO GOD! IT SHOULD BE CHERISHED AND NURTURED! SO I STAYED MARRIED BECAUSE I LOVE HIM AND OUR KIDS NEED THEIR DAD! WHAT SHOULD I HAVE DONE? DIVORED GOT ON WELLFARE AND USED YOUR TAXPAYER DOLLARS FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE?? BELIEVE ME IF WE EVER GET THE CHANCE TO RU AND SAVE OUR KIDS FROM THE VIOLANCE......WE WILL!!!
Deported American
A few things:
1: Grammar
2: Caps Lock - try to make sure it's off
3: Message - while I actually agree with your statements, you're saying them in an incredibly angry way which doesn't do a lot to make our side look more logical. Honor the Vet (whom I'm pretty sure isn't a vet, or at least, I hope he's not) is an idiot, misquotes scripture, tries unsuccessfully to make it seem like God is on his side, when the Bible clearly states that we are obligated to care for foreign residents. Also, if he wants to quote scripture and say he's a vet, how about where Jesus said my followers will learn war no more. He's a hypocrite.
But he's a stupid hypocrite, one who doesn't deserve your attention, and definitely doesn't deserve to have you riled up.
Don't get angry, get logical. You won't win anyone over to your side by screaming. Kind of similar how these people on the bus tour won't win anyone over to their side by flaunting criminal activities in societies face. They're not asking for understanding, they're demanding accommodation. Those are two very different things, and unfortunately, these people are hurting our cause.
Deported American...so married to a foreign national for 13 years. I get that he is the love of your life and I admire that you chose to stay with him even if it means living legally in his home country rather than illegally in yours.
So why didn't you apply for a visa for him before you married? It takes a bit of paperwork and maybe an attorney but your situation could have been corrected before the nuptials if you or he had cared enough to follow the law. Your situation seems rather typical...his parents brought him here illegally (we also call that human trafficking of children) because they couldn't be bothered with our laws. He grows up with a pick and choose attitude toward the laws of our civil society. His papers didn't get process in a timely manner? That is what people tend to say when they didn't provide all of the information that the Government requested. Sometimes that is the excuse when there is a criminal record involved and citizenship or a green card are just not attainable.
See what is really broken about our Immigration process is not the process itself...rather the fact that people don't have any respect for the process and will live here illegally as readily as they will trust the cartels and coyotes to transport their children in the same manner that they transport drugs. They glut our system without regard and reduce the available resources for those who wish to have American citizenship and fully participate in our society.
I would imagine your teaching credentials would be quite welcome in an Mexican school. Good luck with that.
my my, where have all the supporter of illegal aliens gone ? blogs like this one at times was filled with Americans feeling sorry for these illegal aliens, now they are pissed that their nose is being rubbed in it, I for one never had any sympathy for them because I knew and still know what they are really like but the supporters thought that illegals are good people, guess what ? they are not good people, they hate Americans but want to see how they can use them to their advantage. I hope that that LULAC, LA RAZA, The Southern Poverty Law and all those traitors can see what monsters they have created, the "undocumented" made it clear that they don't want or need the help of all those organizations ( anymore. )
It baffles me that ICE hasn't arrested these invaders. Not doing your job is one thing, but having law breakers give you the finger by touting they broke our laws is another.
NH .... no reason to be baffled. Failure to enforce and protect the sovereignty of the Republic seems to be the agenda of both political parties. The last president who took his role serious was Eisenhower. His deportations and logical migrant worker policies had a lot to do with the strong middle-class and prosperity of the 50's through middle 60's. I do not understand just who profits from today insane lack of enforcement: The left elitists with the utopian vision of a world with no borders and every individual in the world a slave to the state with universal poverty, or the right trying to survive high taxes by importing cheap, unskilled, ignorant foreign labor.
ICE and Border Patrol just had the light go off in their tiny brains!! OBAMA=OPEN BORDERS=NO JOBS!!! So one guy arrests an ILLEGAL and gets the boot from Obama. Buddy congratz on doing your job BUT alas you are a day late and a dollar short..VOTE Obama OUT!!!
Hard to arrest and deport when the WH is giving orders not to.
If these people truly wised to share our nation and participate in our society they would go back to their home countries and apply for a visa just like legal immigrants do.
I don't hate you but I sure don't wish to share your culture nor your customs in my homeland if you are not willing to share our culture and customs of following the laws of our society. Not just the laws that you agree with but all of our laws. Please stop imposing yourselves on our society when you can't even be bothered to check in at the border. Until you are willing to follow to our laws you are nothing more than a squatter in a foreign land. Until you are willing to make a commitment to our nation, as the many good people who seek "legal" citizenship, you are not worthy of respect or dignity in America.
Someone really needs to deport these folks, seize their assets and use the proceeds of those assets for the deportation. If these people wish to protest I suggest they try that in their home countries.
Obama has put more resources on the border, and deported more people than Bush.
Why don't republicans propose illegal immigration reform?
Remember the U.S. how it was for LEGAL US Citizens and those that have come here legally and I hope you all took pictures, because we soon won't know the US how we once knew it. This has all changed now that our government officials have let so many illegals and undocumented immigrants have rights and become ghost citizens and pretty much let them claim citizenship all while closing their eyes to what is going on. Those that will benefit from letting illegals have all of the rights of a legal US citizen will be those looking for votes come election day. Its all presidential propoganda. The unemployment problems in this country will get worse, the overburdened health care crisis we already have will get worse, crime will get worse, education will get much worse. I have lived and worked amongst many illegals and undocumented immigrants for years while living in the city, in a state I had no idea was even categorized as a "sanctuary" state until last year. I never even knew anything was signed into law that allowed my home state to become a "sanctuary" state, how blind we all were during those so called secret government talks none of us supposedly knew about. So lets just close our eyes and not say anything when we see a gang of illegals stealing our cars out of parking lots, or stealing tools from legal citizen contractors so they can start their own businesses at a lower price than a US citizen, because that is exactly what they are doing in my home state. My son no longer has a job in his field, his work truck was stolen with all his tools by what the police KNEW was a gang of mexicans that were robbing people for their trade tools, even the police fear them. These people have no regard for anything, they are here for your job, your houses, your land. I used to feel sorry for these people when I was young and naive, I was led to believe they were just hard up on their luck and had a horrible life in their country and were trying to flee for a better life so I would pity them and let them take over my country. What do you think their purpose really is? To take over our country? Their own corrupt government is pushing them out, so that they can get the upper hand, and with our own government making decisions that the LEGAL citizens of the US don't know about until things are already signed into legistlation, its already begun. How many years has the Mexican government been trying to lay claim to US soil anyhow? Since the 1800's? So, let them rob us of our jobs, our education, our health, we will let them. We already have.
I wonder if I can get away with breaking some kind of law today? I doubt it.
Eric, I suggest you go back and read what you just wrote. And then do some homework so you'll know what you are talking about.

Got anything that doesn't come from wingnut web sites? When the first sentence says "FOX News reports" it has no credibility, JudicialWatch, a nutjob web site setup to pounce on so called liberal judges.. And so on. Why don't YOU do some research Ophelia and turn off the Faux Noise or does that not fit the party talking points this morning?
Eric, your pandering is wearing thin.
Actually Obama (and Eric Holder) have put more weapons in the hands of illegals than Bush!
Which news article/station is your news article/station of choice Amused In The Midwest. They all see a little wing nutted to me and pretty much report the same BS.
Eric, the race card is getting really, really old. The dems use it now for every issue where they disagree. It is disgusting because it cheapens true racial issues that do need to be addressed.
These people are here illegally. Period. Regardless of their hunt for a better life, they came here through illegal channels and they knew that. They took a risk. So far they are winning because the US is not enforcing their borders and then can't come to a solution to deal with all the illegals currently in our country.
If we thumb our nose at this issue and ignore the law currently in place, we risk more and more laws being ignored by all classes of people.
Corzine, a democrat x gov, disgraced CEO of GS, and now a trader that traded other people's money without permission and lost that bet, will not be prosecuted.
See what I mean? Our laws mean nothing today unless we chose to enforce them. It seems we are enforcing the little stuff, like getting a permit for a lemonade stand, but the big stuff like border security we are ignoring.
Who is coming over the borders these days besides those looking for a better life? Maybe in the near future we will find out, but then it will be too late.
We do not need reform. What we need is an administration that actually does their Constitutional duty and enforces the laws that we already have on the books. Unfortunately, the current administration would rather pander for votes than actually do their job.
Eric,
I have to question WHY we even need immigration reform? We already have laws in place, what's wrong with enforcing those? Immigration reform means one thing: amnesty. Otherwise, we'd just deport all the illegals and enforce our laws.
You people ask about being humane? What about all the citizen children in our own country that aren't getting the education they need, or the food they need, or a stable family. What about all the homeless (quite a few whom have fought for our country) in our country that need medical attention, food and a safe place to sleep? What about the citizens that go to the ER or Walk in clinic that have to wait for hours due to all the illegals? What about OUR people????
That's right, you're a lib, you don't give a @!$%# about that.
Please give them a Map and highlight the directions back to Mexico, Dont you know they are just lost? tell them to come home, I need them to be my Drug MULE again. Oh and you too Amanda. Mexico is a wonderful place to live..
Here is an idea, Why don't we all contact ICE and demand that these law breaking people on the bus be stopped and deported. Here is the contact info for ICE www.ice.gov/tips or call (866) 347-2423. If the web address is blocked out, just google contacting ICE and the info will be right there.
Eric - Obama has NOT deported more
peopleillegal aliens than Bush. Per DHS statistics the Bush Administration deported more than 2X the number of illegals the Obama Aministration has AND has removed more than 8X the number of illegals the Obama Administration has.To address causes of illegal immigration and the population of illegals in the US, republicans have proposed mandatory E-Verify legislation.
HR 2164 Legal Workforce Act sponsor - Rep. Lamar Smith [R], co-sponsors 64 R, 0 D
HR 2885 Legal Workforce Act sponsor - Rep. Lamar Smith [R], co-sponsors 70 R, 4 D
Don't forget, obama, holder, and others are sworn to uphold our laws and constitution. Another prime example of them not abiding by their oath of office. Every single one of them need to be taken out of office and prosecuted.
I'm sure once they get a large enough group together they will get an executive order written just for them, ask their kids they'll tell ya how it works.
Lies Republicans tell about immigration:
The truth about immigration:
i guess the only thing to do now, if we are not going to take this perfect opportunity to arrest them all while they are grouped up, is to denounce our US citizenship, go to Mexico, and then sneak back in and live here without the burden of paying for our own insurance, taxes, medical care, education, etc.
Will someone please explain why this is Obama's fault? Did illegal immigrants start coming to this country since he took office in January, 2009? It's amazing the things I read here...sheer entertainment, if nothing else.
Siobhan,
Because Mr Obama implemented policies at DHS/ICE to stop deporting Millions of illegals, to grant them deferred action status and to be eligible to apply for work permits - aka "Obamanesty"
The ULTIMATE non-righteous indignation.
Enablers everywhere.
It is as much Obama's fault as it is his predecessors. The "government" says it is so hard to find these "undocumented" aliens well here is a whole bus load that should be rounded up and deported! I'm sure some of them have very sad stories to tell............but no matter, they still can't come to our country without doing so legally.
I have no issue with citizens of other countries wanted to live in America. But they MUST abide by OUR laws and MUST do so legally! That does not mean come in under the radar, use our health care, education and take our jobs and then flaunt in front of us that you will and ARE breaking our laws and proud of it! I must abide by our laws every day and should I NOT then I know I have to pay the penalty. Why are we allowing ILEGAL IMMIGRANTS to break our laws!!!
This is Obama's, Bush's, Clinton's..etc as well as our House of Representatives and The Senate's fault! They have all been elected to ensure our laws are protected and enforced. Shame on the whole bunch of them.
Please remember when you vote in November that we need to clean house on Capitol Hill and get some Legal American Citizens in there that will enforce our laws and deport all illegal aliens when they are caught (and yes seek them out!) and remind them if they want to live here they must go through the proper procedures to do so.
Amused
Why don't you turn on to Fox News. I know, it's because you might learn something that the Communist News Network and the DNC don't want you to know that they are lying and you are swilling it up
Dear Siobhan Mr. OBama has by Executive Order given OBamnesty to the Dreamer Group and also by Administrative Policy said We're only going to Deport those with a Criminal Background or a Significant infraction of the law since they have been here. Those policies pretty much say without saying, it's okay to come here illegally and sponge from the U.S. Taxpayer. Let me also say I'm in favor of Legal Immigration, those who come through the appropriate channels are more than welcome. But those that are here via Breaking the Law, should without the expense of prosecution be immediately deported. It is the Law, if we are a Nation by and Of the Law we must abide in the Law. Mr. OBama by his directive of Selective Enforcement, has broken the Law and committed Treasonous Acts against the Law. If Anyone is Responsible for Not Upholding His Sworn Duty to Uphold and Defend the Constitution and the Laws of the Land, it is Mr. OBama. To Use the Phrase of Former President Truman, "The Buck Stops Here". Seems He, Mr. OBama is driven to Fundamentally Change this Once Great Nation into a Sh!thole, with the Blessings of a Democratic Congress. You Ain't Gonna Like It When He Gets Done.
Amused in the Midwest, so anything that comes from a source you don't approve of is a wingnut, how amusing, I'll bet you're the big man in the sand box
Ophelia says... "How many years has the Mexican government been trying to lay claim to US soil anyhow? Since the 1800's? "... lol! We took the Southwest from Mexico in war. I'd like to give back Texas. And Mexico took that land from the Native Americans in that area. Oh brother.
Looking at the lady that said she brought her three children to the U.S. to get a better education. What does that cost the average tax payer? Here is a list of cities:
LA stated cost per student $10,000
D.C. $17,500
Chicago $11,500
NYC $17,700
Houston $8,400
Phoenix $9,400
If that sounds like a lot, these figures do not include capital expenses, debt service or heath and retirement benefits. Add those to expenses and these are the true costs to educate a student for one school year:
LA stated cost per student $25,000
D.C. $28,000
Chicago $16,000
NYC $21,500
Houston $12.500
Phoenix $11,800
Remember she stated that she had three children and she came here in 2001. We will never get our educational system fixed until everyone understands the true costs.
@ Doug-3495307: thank you for the information for the uniformed, i would add though that your figures are slightly off because these 'special' students command more more money than the legal US student because of all the special classes and outreach opportunities they are given.
@chloe, you are absolutely right. These are just averages and sadly, this doesn't consider that we are sending kids into unsafe schools and not educating them. It is time to break up the monopoly on public education. Of the total, the federal government only pays 9%. Time to abolish the DOE.
If Obama loses this election you are not in all your wildest imagination be able to imagine who and how many he is going to pardon starting with Chicago buddies and right down to Gitmo and ALL illegals. Just watch!
Screw these bastards and screw the potus....
American businesses are the ones to blame for this.
Ever since the 1950s, American companies have welcomed with open arms Mexicans and other lower class, uneducated illegals in order not to have to pay American citizens a living wage. We now have 48 million latinos in the United States, with an estimated 20 million who are illegal. If companies would stop hiring Mexicans and other illegals, those here would go home and new ones wouldn't bother breaking our laws. Shame on those American business people destroying our country to put a few nickels in their pocket. One silver lining to U.S. Big Banking collapsing the economy in 2008 is that many homeowners - those who still have homes - have appealed en masse and lowered their property taxes so that less local and start welfare is available for illegals and their bloated litters of anchor babies. If the federal government wanted to defend this country and the fast disappearing quality of life for American citizens, it could initiate strong border controls and *bring rapid expensive legal action against all American employers who hire these criminals*, instead of letting small companies and large corporations continue to hire illegal immigrants, with next to no enforcement, taking jobs from millions of Americans. Fine the living heck out of these companies and they will stop this madness. So too can the average American simply refuse to patronize any business they suspect hires criminal Mexicans.
Where does Doug come up with the cost? Seriously!!! The taxes that were imposed on us from OUR GOVERNMENT is wasted no matter what!! How blind can people really be and ingorant to just blame the illegals for this big tax wasting mess? Our corrupt government raises our taxes every fricken year and claim that they are using it for this or that! But really they are just lining their own pockets!! Our roads are still crappy even after so much tax dollars going into that, our housing, our social programs, our Social Security was misspent etc.......

Your name just about says it all. Since you have chosen to insult my intellect; instead of having a debate, here is something for you to ponder. The word YOUR is a pronoun and it cannot be used as a substitute for YOU'RE, which is a contraction of YOU ARE. While you are (not your) at it, you might want to have a look at the words PRINCIPLE and PRINCIPAL. What a laugh you are (not your), to think you had the nerve to talk about people with a foreign language not being able to speak english. LOL
Ok once again if you think its Ok for these criminals to be here because no one else
would do these jobs because they don’t pay well enough you are wrong! at a cost
of 12,000.00 a year to educate their children, and also if you figure 3 out of
5 of the criminal illegal immigrant children will be a burden on either the
State, County in some shape or form either prison, welfare or our social
services , it’s no deal! That bag of oranges just went to 20 bucks: it’s just right
now the governments subsidizing 16.00 of it with your Tax $! These people are just common crimnals that need to rounded up and thrown out! The parents are the people that created this mess and have beed freed from personal acountability by our government! just Amazing!
They turn to crime because they're illegal and cant get "above board" jobs. We definitely need immigrant labor but we need it to be LEGAL so they dont hide in the shadows (ie crime). They need to be able to go home to their families after the seaon so they're not forced to bring them here were for some reason I cant figure out, we give them free education. It would also be helpful if we didnt send subsidized food to MX where their farmers cant compete, sell out and come here to pick crops. Up the quota on guest workers and guest workers ONLY. We need to act like we control our own country.
Doing "the jobs that americans" won't do is a crock and a term dreamed up by a bunch of idiots that have no idea what they are talking about and make assumptions. People that use that term are the ones that won't do jobs some of us americans ARE actually doing- maybe they should become a little more observant next time they have their garbage picked up, or their car tires changed, or eat the fries and burger they are eating on the lengthy lunch break they seem to be on. Since I lost my medical career job in 2009, under the Obama Administration I need to add, just so there is no confusion of who was in office during that time that I lost my job, I am now working for minimum wage slapping burgers on a grill because the jobs in my field are now requiring their employees to be bilingual, so that we can cater to those that refuse to speak english. I also work alongside of other "legal americans" who are in the same position I am in, who have lost jobs, or can't find one in their respective careers. I come from a family of farmers that grow crops for you to eat and blue collar workers, military personnel, trash truck drivers that pick up your stinking garbage, auto mechanics that put brakes on your cars. So tell me who these "americans" are that "won't do those jobs" and exactly what jobs are they that they aren't doing? Ever pick horseradish or blueberries on a farm for a living? I have. And I'm proud of it.
every single person currently living in poverty in a third world country wants one thing-to get to the united states. i live in san diego and i know that huge numbers of illegals from all third world countries are crossing our border. they are not just mexicans. chinese and japanese women are coming here to have ''anchor'' babies -there's a thriving business here catering to these women. fly in-have baby-get birth certificate and fly out. americans think this is a mexican problem-think again. we are under attack on our borders by people from around the world. if we are not prepared to accept illegal immigration by the millions we'd better do something and do it now. this is going to get much worse and eventually we won't be able to do anything to stop it.
Apparently granny we can't do nothing about it now. They are in public saying, hey look at me, I am illegal, want to chat? And our "law enforcement" can do nothing? Absurd.
Having lived in Japan over the years I seriously doubt Japanese women want to come to America to have anchor babies. Perhaps you are confusing them with another third world Asian country. Would much rather live in Japan.
It was wealthy Chinese and Asian Indian ladies flying in to Cali. Since so many come here for schooling, probably just being practical and making the future easier. They actually do look into the future and plan, unlike so many others. And these were wealthy folks, likely family ties here already.
Hello Japan is no third world country
Your figure of $12,000 to educated a student is light. For most of America that doesn't include capital expenses, debt services and health and retirement.
wabisabi----most jetting into san diego for anchor babies are chinese--some are japanese----and large numbers of mexicans are walking across the border and are overwhelming hospitals along the mexican border. did not mean to put japan in 3rd world category since they are obviously a wealthy country. meant to say that poor and rich alike want to live in united states for various reasons -family ties / education / seeking american mate / medical services----if they can't get here legally they will pay large amounts of money to get here anyway they can. i was asked by a mexican woman while i was walking thru a parking lot if i could help get her get heart surgery. she was so desperate and emotional and i did not understand her-had to find interpreter to tell me what she was saying. they think all their prayers will be answered if they can just get to u.s. since we can't possibly accomodate all illegals we must not encourage their illegal entry by making life here as an illegal vastly better than life in their home countries. if life is better here what's the down side to being undocumented?
.
@ PeanutGalleryTheater: they have the ability to do all those things now you dumb***!! you have obviously never lived anywhere near a farming community, in my state there is a constant flow of workers that are here to do the job and go back to Mexico with legal seasonal work papers and those that come illegally that just stick out their hand the second they get here.
Ophelia 13 -- Ouch on the job. In southern NJ, admin asst jobs have dropped down to $8-9/hour, speaking Spanish mandatory. I'm so po'd now with this bus thing that I'll NEVER NEVER EVER speak another word of Spanish. Sooner or later our county will get snagged for not doing anything about all the welfare & fake ID fraud.
Why does the INS not deport them? It makes me furious that they do nothing. Obama is a coward for letting them get away with it.
@WJE37fcsm - I wonder the same thing.......this subject really bring out the worst in people! It is a hard reality knowing that racism is still so strong today in the 2000's. I find that baffling!!
Right, so now you're supporting genocide, you racist piece of human waste? I pray you are just lying for sympathy about being a vet, because you're bringing a lot of shame upon the armed forces.
Ophelia 13.............If you are in the medical field and have not been able to find a job in three years, I think you had better take a long hard look at yourself and your attitude. That is one of the few fields where job demand has increased , at least for competent individuals in the field. If you think that your original unemployment in 2009 was caused by the Obama situation, that says a lot about your misunderstanding of the entire economic crisis and what started the economic crash. Nothing wrong with working at a fast food place, but could you please try to get my order right just once !
This is ridiculous! What dignity you get from breaking the law? What right are you talking about? What right of others you have thought of your breaking the law have infringed? Any support for this type of behavior is mockery to our legal system. This is not what freedom of speech is about!
When ILLEGALS gather like this they need to round em up and head em out. This is a slap in the face to the American people.
The nice part about this is that they've already rounded themselves up. This should be the easiest deportation ever.
panda - "Any support for this type of behavior is mockery to our legal system."
Obama knows, he just doesn't care. He knows that criminals and greedy leeches sell their votes with no regard to the cost... and he has the taxpayers pocketbook to purchase all the handouts he needs.
I do not hate the Hispanic people. Ihave many Hispanic friends, but they are here legally, and have made thier nitch. They served in the military, they have fought for our freedom My forefathers and my relatives came to this country legally, went through Ellis Island, and had to have sponsor's. Not only that, they fought for our liberty and and our freedom, up and including the civil war and the wars. What have you illegals done, who cross the borders in the dark of the night, since then. They can't or won't speak English, some look down at us if we were the illegals. In my work place, I was told that I should learn to speak the Hispanic language by a customer. My reply was, You are in my country, I am the American, you learn the English language. It is sad when a small child has to interrupt English to their adult parent, I would be ashamed, if I were that Hispanic person. They want to come to America for a better life. Yet they don't want to adapt to our culture. It doesn't mean they can't observe and follow their culture, that's just an excuse. Some of them have no respect for our culture and way of life. This country didn't offer you a rose garden, only freedom, and the right to better yourselves. Instead you expect us to give every thing to you. You people think that just because you are on a tour, and declare you are illegal, makes you acceptable to the American people, including the the Hispanics that are legally here. Well you are wrong. The Hispanics that came here legally, do not Repect you. Or at least the ones I know who are either friends or people that I talk to. Obama is courting you for you support.
"When the blood in your veins returns to the sea and the earth in your bones returns to the ground perhaps then you will remember that this LAND does not belong to you.....it is you who belong to this land"
I'm sure this group of people are very nice but the fact that they broke the law and are now flaunting that fact shows the contempt they have for this country. I have no problem with them coming here wanting a better life but they should do it the legal way. The federal authorities should be at their next stop and haul them in and ship them home.
Actually gday67 these people are not nice at all. They are criminals and they are dangerous who seek to put themselves above law abiding citizens, who would steal from your wallet to fill their own. The most decent person on that bus is no better than a mafia thug.
Actually these are nice people trying to make a better life for themselves.
Sheesh, I'm so tired of the racist comments.
Eric - I'm a nice person; if I rob a store to get some money to improve some aspect of my life is it racist to arrest, charge, sentence, and punish me?
Why doesn't it work both ways?
Oh, wait. Because it's racist!
Eric, How many blacks from poor African countries do you see in that photo? How many impoverished whites from the Eastern Block? How many from India or Asia?
The only ones you see are Hispanic. Why should Hispanics, who don't make up anywhere near the greatest proportion of the worlds poor, be so over represented?
And you want to bring up racism.
Actually Eric, nothing racist about it...they are illegal.
It could be said that a person robbing a bank is "trying to make a better life for themself"...does that make it ok to rob the bank?
We are racist for wanting these illegal 5hitheads out of this country?
I don't care where they are from.
Here illegally ?
Get the f out.
Eric, your an idiot. How are we racist for wanting to have our laws followed? And please stop with the "Why haven't the Republicans proposed immigration reform?" The laws on the book need to be enforced. By the way stopping someone at the border is not deporting someone except in Obama's world.
We should ship all these people to Eric's city since they are "so nice" and looking for "a better life".
When Eric's car is gone the next day & his city is broke from catering to all these freeloaders, he'll change his tune!
Laker - Don't you think if Eric was capable of learning anything it would have happened by now? Eric would wake up and be thrilled to see a part of America in ruins.
Laker..."We should ship all these people to Eric's city..."
"A person's tolerance for diversity is directly related to their distance from it." - AU
Eric speaks for many - just not on this blog.
Be careful what you wish for. In less than 50 years America will be "some shade of brown". It just is a natural change of demographics already underway, nothing personal, just a gradual shift. Everyone's family, unless they are isolated in rural ghettos somehow, will have a "some shade of brown" member. My family has a number of immigrants (Asian) and one whose ancestral roots go to Africa by way of the Caribbean. I hope their children look out for their white cousins (the white side has been here since the 1600s) if the hatred, on this sample of opinions, flips around in a karma-like manner.
Eric, may I suggest you look up the definitions of two words Illegal and RACIST, then you can use them knowing what they mean. Good luck PS you can find this in a Dictionary. You do know what that is don't you?
Wow! The courage of these protesters!
Illegal - equals doing something outside the bounds of law and is punishable under the law.
Equality - To have the same rights as others i.e. equally applying for legal papers, equally paying taxes but not only receiving equal benefits.
I think they need to re-think their strategy. Their actions are despicable and no American or legal resident, or legal alien should stand for this.
I hope ICE catches up with the bus soon.
Easy enough for ICE to find out where these illegals are employed, then DOJ can take those American companies to court.
I agree with Eric, it is a bunch of hypocritical RACIST comments on this site. All these purely honest law abiding citizens only want people to stop breaking our laws. All the while saying get out of my country you spics, wet backs etc.....yeah nothing racist about those comments.
I guarantee you half these people are not so law abiding citizens the hypocrites. Especailly txmom....she is very racist!
Michael72 - When did ILLEGAL ALIEN become a race? Did I miss that?
If you are in MY country, the United States of America, without permission (documents proving the right to be here), regardless of your color, be it WHITE, BROWN,BLACK,PINK,PURPLE,GREEN,YELLOW,BLUE or even POLKA DOTTED, You NEED to leave immediately! I welcome people of all color and cultures providing they enter LEGALLY!
These people are CRIMINALS. They need to be treated like criminals. I have no issues with people from anywhere coming to this country as long as they do it legally. This country was built by immigrants form every other country who worked hard to make it a great success. The illegals from Central and South America are coming her simply to TAKE, not contribute. Any company that hires an illegal alien should be prosecuted and their human resources person sould be thrown in the same jail as the illegal alien along with the president of the company. People argue that with no illegals that there will be no one to pick some of the crops. Make the people on welfare pick the crops. If they refuse, no welfare. There is no free ride folks, everyone has to do their part.
The USA cannot asorb all the people who want to come here. If things are so bad in their country they should get together and make changes. They don't because they would rather come here and suck off of us. We have to stop being the easy way out for these criminals. There is no God given right to come to the USA and be a leech on society. These people have ruined their country and now they are here to ruin our country. They must be stopped.
Denise-992717
I never called it a race but this subject about illegal aliens becomes a topic about race everytime the caucasians decide to post something! If this is about laws then keep it about the laws. All I been reading are nasty racist hateful posts regarding wet backs or spicks, talking about how they are dirty unemployed etc.....sounds pretty racist to me. And nothing logical in this way of thinking.
They are stealing, Our JObs,Our Health Care, and many other things that We Law Abiding Citizens Pay for, they are ENTITLED to for Free! I do not get free Health Care,I must pay Taxes, so I want the illegals Bus either re-routed out of this country,or straight to a holding area to get them processed and registered to pay taxes and Health Care just like the rest of us.
Only loading them on another bus, putting them in prison, then deporting them and banning them permanently from the US will teach them that UNDOCUMENTED means you have NO RIGHTS in the US.
I have no issue with immigrants, come, be citizens, there is more than enough room, hope and promise. ILLEGAL immigrants I do take issue with, when you come here breaking the law from the start you're a problem, you'll break more: employment, id, driving and even more and that's just the typical cases.
The soft-line has failed, this country either needs to take a hard-line on illegal immigration or just let anybody in and scrap the whole thing (basically what's going on in this story).
And if caught here once illegally you should lose all rights to try to come back legally. They already showed a blatant disregard for the law.
Instead of putting them on another Bus, Just Drive them to the Border and let Immigration Services take them back Home. To MEXICO. and DON'T LET THEM BACK IN. They're rubbing Our Faces in the fact they announced they were ILLEGAL. DEPORT THEM, and stop all their BS.
Most of them have social security numbers ....maybe yours?
As well as stealing the social security numbers of your children and your dead relatives. Uneducated and sleazy illegal lowlifes who breed like rats and take every shortcut and cheat they can find - no country on the planet wants or needs that kind of scum. The collateral damage is going to fall on the current generation of American girls who are the ones going to college and entering the business world in greater numbers than American males; they're the ones who'll have to deal with 48 million+ misogynist latinos who have no respect for any women, let alone white women in charge.
I agree--but the biggest problem? They figured out how to get here illegally in the first place--not being allowed back in the US should be a piece of cake for these lawbreakers.
Let me ask this one simple question show me that you all are current on your payment of taxes to the IRS or can we add another feloney to your record. Vice President Biden says it is Patriotic to pay TAXES and the President say we all should pay our fair share. you want to see the country well prove to the country that you are just like us and fullfill your tax burden
smartman1...the IRS is paying the illegals:
Illegals get $4.2 Billion using fraudulent Tax Claims…
The Internal Revenue Service allowed undocumented workers to collect $4.2 billion in refundable tax credits last year, a new audit says, almost quadruple the sum five years ago.
Wage earners who do not have Social Security numbers and are not authorized to work in the United States can use what the IRS calls individual taxpayer identification numbers. Often these result in fraudulent claims on tax returns, auditors found.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/federal-eye/post/undocumented-workers-got-billions-from-irs-in-tax-credits-audit-finds/2011/03/23/gIQAhtaKvJ_blog.html?hpid=z3
TAXES? We don't pay no stinkin' taxes!
right - You might try asking Mitt, he's the one for tips on not paying a fair share.
hs321, insult to injury, illegals do that using the earned income tax credit - for their litters of anchor babies. H*ll would freeze over before anyone with the Catholic church condemned it, though. Or anyone in the U.S. govt. had the backbone to stop it.
Not clever at all.. Mitt has nothing to do with the Obama Administration blatently keeping a blind eye to the immigration problem.. Why would he? His Aunt was over on a work visa and never went back, was given housing and other social services.. He'd be a hypocrit to actually enforce it.. He'd have to kick his family out.. He isn't going to do that.. He's going to do what every other president has done lay it on our backs as taxpayers.. You know and have the media feed the sheeple.. Romney may not be the best candidate, but we've seen what Obama can do and like I said on a post on these blogs before.. You want to see "change" it's in my pockets where the dollar bills use to be.. Write in a candidate if you have to but DO NOT vote for Obama..
I think this says it all. It is common knowledge hat neither Bush nor Obama enforced immigration laws. When the chief executive officer refuses to do his job it becomes public knowledge sooner or later.
Little fact for ya, Obama has had a higher record of deportation in his first term than Bush did in two.
When the Commander in Chief instructs an agency not to do its job it carries even more weight. Just ask the ICE agent who was suspended for doing his job. He arrested a "non targeted" illegal. Go figure...
So why aren't these criminals back across the border yet?
Betty Sturgeon...Obamas numbers are the cooked books version even the Liberal Rag WAPO admitted it...try again tho there are a lot of brain dead in this country. Are you their leader???
Betty Sturgeon - Look at the numbers and dates. The majority of deportations under Obama occured in the first few months of his administration, and these were people whose deportation process actually began under Bush. The reality is that the real numbers are about the same for both Obama and Bush. The difference is that Obama lies about it.
It is common knowledge Obama has considering his policy changes have granted differed action and work permits to more illegals in 1 year than he has deported in 3 1/2. What evidence or citable facts do you have that Bush did not enforce immigration laws? Based on DHS statistics he deported more than 2 Million illegals and returned more than 8.8 Million illegals for a toal movement of close to 11 Million illegals out of the US.
That would be great if true, but it is not.
According to DHS statistics, Bush deported more than 2X the number of illegals than Obama AND returned (confirmed movement of an inadmissible or deportable alien out of the United States not based on an order of removal) more than 8X the number of illegals than Obama has.
All the illegals deported by Bush and Obama together doubled doesn't put a dent in the problem. Obama stepped up deportation on illegals who have committed crimes in addition to being in the country illegally. This way he can look like he's doing something and the likes of La Raza, MECHA, LULAC, etc can't complain because he's deporting criminals.
What was it Lincoln said? Something like, "You can fool some of the people some all of the time...."
You will know a politician is serious about illegal immigration when he/she cracks down on the employers who give them the incentive to come here in the first place.
Betty...are you aware of this:
"Morale is in the toilet right now," Chris Crane, president of the National ICE Council, told Todd Starnes of Fox News. "Most of the guys out in the field are just in an uproar."
The major change in the administration's policies allow the federal government to use "prosecutorial discretion" which essentially allows younger illegal immigrants to remain in the country and get work permits. Critics of the change say it amounts to a backdoor amnesty program, but the administration has defended the shift, saying it does not lead to citizenship.
Nevertheless, Starnes said, ICE agents in the field are getting increasingly frustrated with supervisors who they say are ordering some illegal aliens freed because they are not what the administration has described as "primary targets."
http://www.newsroomamerica.com/story/267444.html
Which is to say, MORE ILLEGALS ARE CROSSING THE BORDER.
Betty Sturgeon,
Your "fact" is just another Obama LIE!!
As with just about every other metric that measures such things as the state of the economy, the performance of government agencies, etc, the Obama Administration has changed the way such statistics are defined to make himself look better to the uninformed. Like the way he removed the cost of food and energy from the formula used to determine the rate of inflation.
In this case, Obama decided that, if Border Agents caught a group of illegals crossing the border and chased them back across, they would be counted as "deported". At the same time, if an illegal can make it across the border, he is pretty much assured that he WILL NOT be deported.
If any CFO of a private corporation cooked the books the way Obama has, he would be thrown in prison - and rightfully so!
Obama won't uphold his oath of office. Impeach the bastard.
Doug, Romney would be worse on illegal immigration; the GOP started this mess in the late 1950s and keeps that machine well oiled.
The sad fact here is that there are people who still believe this lie put out by the left and just posted by 'betty sturgeon'!
The liberal's standard operating procedure these days is that 'if you tell a lie often enough, and strongly enough that you will soon believe that lie.. and hopefully, so will others (who are too lazy to verify)'! The Obama campaign is very, very good at this!
I was thinking the same thing. Not only jot doing their jobs and enforcing the rules, but circumventing the the processes put in place to enforce the rules ... just to gain votes. And no one will stand up to him. That's where the problem is. Yes, I'm talking about Obama. It was a quick way to win them over, but no permanent solution.
Hey,Iam Canadian living on the border with U.S.and I think that there should be open borders so all people should be able to live together, work together. We fight wars together,we die for one another why can't we live together?
ok we will ship all these criminal mexicans to canada and let you live with them genius.
Marie's tone would change in a hurry if she took a short visit to southern CA or NM.
Or, simply educated herself.
Canada is conveniently isolated from Mexico by... the US!
Or, I should say, our prisons, jobs, and emergency rooms.
Marie--
When your country faces thousands of people crossing the border a day, leaving a cesspool of clothing, bags, general filth, drugs, and rapes behind in their wake as they trespass across your people's legally owned land, frequently even killing your country's legal landowners--then you will understand that this isn't a human rights issue. It's a legal issue.
You don't realize what it's like because we are good neighbors. We don't cross the border illegally, walk across your land, kill your citizens that legally own the land, leave behind needles in the dirt, litter the land with large piles of clothing, grow large patches of pot on your property, leave "rape trees" of bras and panties behind as a testimony of the people we've assaulted, and attempt to change your culture to suit us. Stop listening to the general media, and read the TRUTH.
These people need to fix their own country--not invade ours.
US and canadian economies are similar enough that there's not a huge draw of desperate people willing to take the risks. We should have relationship with MX that allows us to get the cheap labor and then they go home with their wages that are a major revenue stream in MX. This could be a win-win if some politicians would have the moxie to secure the borders FIRST so they have the credibility to discuss the rest of "reform."
How would you feel with the 20 million illegals here suddenly marched across the Canadian border?
That's the 12 million new ones here AND the other 8 MILLION REAGAN gave amnesty to in the 80's
FORGOT THOSE ?
Sorry. Just like everybody loves Raymond. IDIOT!!!
Marie, Where was your kind during the Viet Nam War? Canada wasn't to happy about all the draft dodging Hippies that flocked there!
Geez, there's only 30 million Canadians in all of Canada. Can you imagine if 20 million illegal Latin Americans came into the country? And not only that, but then demanded that the French in Quebec and Ontario speak Spanish? LOL
I'm an American that lives in Ontario Canada, because I fell inlove with a French Canadien and we've been married for 7 1/2 years. I came here legally. But it is easier for spouses to immigrate into Canada than into the US. It still took 3 years to get my residency and Canada allows the spouse to stay here and live with their spouse while the application is going through. I find this much more humane than America's policy.
Hispanics wouldn't like it up here in Canada anyways. There's already a big enough language war between English and French; Spanish would just get lost in the fray. You can't get the socialized heath care if you're not a resident or citizen (not sure how the Work Visa thing works with OHIP, but I'm sure they get some temp card.). Each Provence has their own health care laws. Ontario's is OHIP. You have to pay a fee upfront in a hospital before they will even process you to be seen, if you're not a citizen or resident. In order to get your OHIP card you have to have a SIN number and show your birth certificate or residency papers, and an address proving you live in the Province of Ontario via hydro bills, etc. To see a family doctor or go to a clinic you have to have your OHIP card on you. I think it's more difficult to get Welfare up here than in the US and it's even harder to get disability. You have to prove to a panel that you can't work because of a disability. Canad might be more socialized than the US, but it's diffidently harder to live under the radar as an illegal up here. I think it's mostly because of the socialized gov structure.
Funny, I don't remember seeing any Canadians when I was in Iraq. I could be wrong maybe they were there, but I doubt it. Hey Mary, would you like part of your paycheck going to support illegals??? Nothing against Canadians, but Mary. . . . nevermind I will remain polite.
What do you expect from an administration like the POS we now have in office. Vote the scum out! Re-elect NO ONE!!
Is Obama's illegal alien Uncle Onyango on the "No Papers No Fears - Invaders Tour"?
Some speedy graffiti artist should doctor their bus, so it says,"No papers, all we have is a bong". That would get them all arrested, right quick.
I can not understand their Logic, It is not their country "Period".
Its called greed and self-righteousness.
Man...all I have to say is this country is really making me SICK!
Did you know that my Aunt who is in her late 60's and filled with cancer, cannot work, and only qualified for $11.00 a month in food stamps. BUT they are not ALLOWED to ask immigrants if they are here legally...and they can STILL get plenty of food stamps and assistance???
What the ham and cheese is wrong with this country???? ARGHHHHHHH!
Illegal Immigrants cannot get food stamps.
LOL Ego!!...

Hate to burst your bubble but all an illegal needs is one little faux citizen anchor baby and they get public assistance. Yeah, it's for the 'baby' but it's a 'trickle up' thing. The illegal, home invading mommy and daddy benefit from tha assistance right along with baby! BTW, they are NOT immigrants. Immigrants follow the law to come to this country. Illegals circumvent the law! They INVADE. That's why I choose to refer to them as home invaders. The USA is my home and when you enter my home without my permission that makes you a home invader.
@ wdwfanatic304, exactly: which is why i think we should alter our laws enough to make it so that if the parents are here illegally the child is born here illegally.
Whats really messed up is in my city, White Plains in NEW YORK STATE, these illegals don't even bother to learn ENGLISH. So when they approach you they speak Spanish. When you tell them, you don't speak Spanish they get offended. I hear nightmare stories from some of my friends that are teachers: Some of their High School students born in this county to illegals cannot speak English.
I saw one the other day with a proud to be an illegal immigrant shirt walk right past a cop and nothing happened.
Maybe if Janet Napolitano and her right hand gal were not so busy either discriminating against male employees or groping them they could have secured the borders rather than bowing to Obama. Janet N said yesterday she may resign and move back to AZ. Why would AZ welcome back someone who has tried to ruin their state, break it financially, have it over run by illegals? Go get her Governor!
Ego, only people who don't live in heavy illegal immigrant territory can think they don't get food stamps. I'm from L.A. and eventually my parents moved to Bakersfield CA. When I was little we lived in the San Fernando Valley. My mom grew up in Mission Hills. Her best friend was Hispanic, most of my friends were Hispanic, but these were Americans of Hispanic descent. I always tell people that Mexican food is a part of my culture... mmmm yummy... When I was a girl a young family from Mexico moved in. You know what happened? All the Hispanics, my friend's and people my Mom went to high school with, sold their houses and moved. No joke. I was sad cause my two best friends moved. All that was left were the white people. Then this small family of four started housing multiple large families in their garage. My dad being an ex cop was told by friends that it was a stay over type place for illegal immigrants. What they would do is have one legal family get established and then they would help the illegals with a place to stay. (Of course no legal authority seemed to care this was taking place.) Some of these people were their family, many were not. Eventually my Dad moved us north and many other families moved out too.
Now anyone who lives in the Central Valley knows the realities of illegal immigration and overstayed work visas. There's a town called Arvin that is 98% Hispanic, and almost everyone there is on welfare or SS. In a town nearby the only store is a Food stamp store!!! LOL In Bakersfield when I'd drive by the SS Office on my way to school, the line would always be out the door, and every person in line looked like an illegal immigrant. Yes you can usually tell. I can thank my Hispanic friends for pointing that out to me. My Mom worked as an accountant for an industrial landscaper, 98% of his employees were illegals. Very nice people, especially Rudy(perv though). My mom knew Mr. Brown was helping his employees get fake SS#'s and would pay them low wages on paper so they could get gov benefits and then get cash under the table for the rest of their pay. Oh my Mom reported him more then once and the gov did absolutely nothing. I think Rudy eventually applied for citizenship and he started his own landscaping business. My mom is still friends with him. You can like someone a lot, or even feel their culture is your culture. I make Mexican food from scratch. But that doesn't negate the fact that those here illegally are law breakers and they make Hispanics on a whole look bad; which is a real shame.
Every single country in the world demands and has the right to control who crosses its borders. I don't know of any country where it is legal to simply arrive and get a job. Why should the US be any different?
I have lived in Canada and in Italy as a dependent spouse. Sure could have used the extra cash, but it was ILLEGAL for me to work there, so guess what, I didn't! The hubby and I lived legally in Australia for a few years. We wanted to stay longer when the visas ran out, but could not get extensions. So, we left, imagine that. My husband is not a US citizen, his application for legal residency was pending. He came here on a tourist visa, DID NOT WORK, and when the visa expired and his residency still hadn't come, he left the country and stayed out until the residency permission was granted. It cost us a lot of money - and we are not wealthy by any stretch of the imagination, we are teachers - but we did what was required by law.
If you do not have permission of a country's government to be there, you shouldn't be there! If you have permission to be there, but not to be employed, you shouldn't work!
You are a good example of how immigration should work and are to be commended. Illegal is illegal and they should go back to their country, go to prison or be put in front of a firing squad.
lol...wow. What better way to identify them and round them up for shipment to Mexico better yet Afghanistan then it is much harder to get back here. Problem solved.
It doesn't matter how much they gift-wrap themselves, the Democrats will refuse to loose these prestigeous party members no matter how much pesky American citizens are disgusted by it.
Democrats want their votes and Republicans want cheap labor. Plenty of blame to go around.
I am absolutely outraged by this article! My 17-year-old son could not find a job this summer and when we went to one of the places where he applied, there was a man there who could not speak English that had just been hired. Our own people are facing an unemployment crisis and these criminals are taking our jobs, educating their children with OUR hard-earned money, commiting crimes, and now flipping us off for it!? GET THEM OUT! Time for real Americans to stand up. Haven't we had enough!!??
If I am in a store and there are sales people who do not speak english, I contact the main office of the store..I have done it to alot of stores in Tucson....and also, ..they are so rude and arrogant..they don't care if you don't like it... I contact the store manager and complain..do not put up with being treated rudely in our own country...complain.....keep complaining...keep contacting your senators and law makers...our voices are a loud as theirs...
No fear my a**. If they were getting deported they would be kicking and screaming not to be sent back to the country they love so much but refuse to live in. We know who to vote for in November. I am ashamed I went to war for a country which simply turns it's back on it's citizens.
Amen madcitizen: They broke our laws and this administration is rewarding criminals. I know who I'm voting for in November.
I Believe this Illegal crap started under the bUSH administration. Yes Bama has kept it up, but what do ya do when you have to fight BOTH PARTIES, Just to Follow a LAW passed by these same Idiots. ENFORCE THE LAW, that's all AZ did and keep getting ripped for it. What a bunch of aholes that won't let the Law Enforcement People to DO THEIR JOBS.
MR Holder, MR Obama, Why are you NOT enforcing federal laws and arresting these LAW BREAKERS. They have provided probable cause as they have confessed to being here illegally.
All I can say is wow!! How arogant can one group be. Setting a fine example of breaking the law and not caring. I bet this would really fly in the home country. Hell, you would be in prison. Only in America can one break the law and some how it is justified. SICK!!
Go live in equality where you came from.
Here, you're a criminal.
Am I the only person out there who is deeply offended by this blatant in your face disregard of the law? Thes criminals need to be deported fast.
No. And tehir actions, their lack of respect for the law and their disregard for the people who do things the right way justifies nothing short of their arrest. I don't even think they should be deported. Put them in prison for ten years under low rations and hard labor.
They've learned from the liberal really well. No wonder the dems expect to get their votes.
Get ready to pay $10 for an apple and $200 to get your landscaping done. Oh, and prepare for the economic hole that it would cause. Here's an example of a few billion that would be lost... just in Nevada
Vitriol is the enemy of common sense, and you're a soldier my friend.
... and to PeanutGalleryTheater -- I hear it's pretty difficult to vote if you are not a documented US resident.
Candle, they keep saying they come here to do the jobs we don't want. Cleaning litter up along a highway in a orange jump suit is a job I sure as hell don't want.
The idiots on that bus should be made into an example of why the illegals should keep hiding.
Well put. If you or I walked into a store, picked up an item and walked out, guess what would happen? We would be arrested.
This blatant disregard for the laws in the our country and the blatant disregard of law enforcement to enforce the laws of this country make me ill.
detroitjames....that is complete and utter hogwash.
When all of the studies are done on the economic impact of illegals, it's determined they provide only a slight benefit. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economic_impact_of_illegal_immigrants_in_the_United_States)
Therefore, if all of them leave, it will have little if any long term impact on the economy.
Typical though of the libs to try and use scare tactics. Next thing you'll be telling us about the republicans wanting old people and babies to starve in the street.
They work here, but send the money home. I don't pay them $200 to do my landscaping or $400 to clean my house...I do it myself.
I don't understand why they don't fight for their rights in their own poor country. Make a stand and make that a better place. The one wearing "No Papers, No Fear" should stand up for her rights where she is a legal citizen and demand respect.
Also, if this works for the Latinos, then it should work for the Asians, Europeans, and other immigrants that want to live here. There was a guy in our office crying for "diversity." We have diversity. He wanted more latinos. There are other nationalities bub! When he opened his eyes and looked around, you could see in his face that his thought process backfired. We have plenty of non-white people working here.
@ detriotjames: you are an idiot, food will not spike that high, there were plenty of people (my parents worked in the fields) and are still plenty of people that would work in the fields in this country if given the chance (and yes i have done my time)
Alabama had thousands of people lining up at the employment offices to apply for jobs that were vacated when Alabama came out with it's tough stance on illegals. the employment offices were not processing them efficiently if at all (employment offices get more money per Mexican helped than American) but the people were there to do the jobs.
And you think it's difficult to vote when you are illegal?! LOL, REALLY, when the Fuc**** idiots that are worried about the illegals 'rights' send out blank voting forms to every name and address they can get their hands on? even deceased people and peoples dogs and cats?!
OH, my G-d, you need to get out more!!! I'd laugh harder if it wasn't so dam* depressing.
DetroitJames they already are voting in local elections do some research
All of y'all that are NOT of PURE Native American Indian blood need to shut the hell up - really. How do you think YOU got here. The "United" states was built from immigrants.... legal AND illegal. Better check the lineage and DOCUMENTATION of all your forefathers/mothers before you spout off.
My family was deported from Canada in 1755. They arrived on slave ships and were dropped off into the swamps of southern Louisiana. Family members fought in both the battle of New Orleans and the battle of San Jacinto. Not to mention both world wars and my service in Viet Nam. Is that enough lineage for you?
Chewtoy...humans are not native to the Americas. All humans here were either born here or their ancestors migrated here from somewhere else.
Regarding "shut the hell up", I respectfully refer you to the First Amendment to the Constitution, guaranteed to us by the likes of Doug and his ancestors.
TheChewtoy look up the definition of native, then get back to me
hs321
detroitjames....that is complete and utter hogwash.
When all of the studies are done on the economic impact of illegals, it's determined they provide only a slight benefit. ()
Therefore, if all of them leave, it will have little if any long term impact on the economy.
So, if we kicked the illegals out and it "freed up" employment, public assistance, health care costs, and such.. Are you trying to say it would only be a slight benefit? One question.. Are you high??
@ ChewToy
I'm with you on this.......fricken hateful hypocrites!!
You are here illegally - get the hell OUT!
Get ready to pay $10 for an apple and $200 to get your landscaping done. Oh, and prepare for the economic hole that it would cause. Here's an example of a few billion that would be lost... just in Nevada.
Vitriol is the enemy of common sense, and you're a soldier my friend
They need to take the bus tour, back across the border to Mexico. And for any person in the United States that does not agree with it. I would be more than willing to be taxed and get you a one way ticket and help you obtain your Mexican citizenship.
Yep, Mark every single person on that bus in from Mexico. (sarcasm) I'm against illegal immigration, but I'm sick of people harping on mexico and mexican illegals as if that's the only problem. I challenge ANY of you to walk into ANY MAJOR HOTEL CHAIN IN AMERICA and demand the documentation of all its staff.
Then after that I challenge you to walk into any Fortune 500 company and demand its H1-B documentation for all of its foreign workers.
You see people don't just come her 'because' they want to be illegal. CORPORATIONS (you know 'people too', per Mitt) has been pressuring the Government for YEARS to do nothing about the problem. CORPORATIONS for years knowingly lied to the government (and continue to do so) about the lack of 'qualified' IT staff, just to be able to continue to keep the level of foreign workers to keep their COSTS DOWN.
BIG agriculture hires THOUSANDS of illegals to help keep their costs down (and of cours profits up). Hotels hire THOUSANDS of illegals to do the same.
So if you all are so outraged by the 'mess' you need to STFU and deal with the real problem. IF WE DIDN'T HIRE THEM they would not come.
Put every 'good amurrican citizen that knowingly hires undocumented workers to do their bidding' on a bus to somewhere...I'd be willing to be taxed for that!
detroitjames...
My auto insurance is higher because I have to pay higher premiums to make up for the illegals who break the law and drive uninsured. My county taxes are higher because the extra money is needed to pay for the illegals getting free medical care in county hospitals. My health insurance is higher to help the hospitals make up for giving free health care to the illegals. My school property taxes are higher to pay for bilingual education. My sales taxes are higher to help pay for welfare for the illegals you claim are so hard working.
So you think the tomatoes are cheaper? That tomato has already cost me whether I go in the store and buy it or not.
You think your house is cheaper because it was built by illegals? Don't be naive. The builder / developer / contractor doesn't pass much, if any, of the savings on to the consumer. They pocket that money and laugh at us all the way to the bank.
And I would much rather go into a restaurant and pay $2-3 dollars more per meal if I knew the cook and the dishwasher were Americans making a decent wage.
Hi,
Well lets see, when I lived in Oakland Ca. I learned to hate Mexicans, excuse me but I was in the Navy at Alameda Ca. I had no problems with the Mexicans in the Navy because they were all great people who wanted to serve and followed orders with no problems, they were hard workers and very dedicated but now lets discuss the Mexicans in the Civilian world, they harassed me because I was a white American living in a Mexican community, they would park their cars so close to mine in front and back that I couldn't get out and when I asked them politely to move their cars they no speakee the ingles. When one broke into my car, I asked if they knew who did it, no speakee the ingles, and the ones that knew wouldn't report it because they feared retribution from the person once he was released from jail, which in Oakland the person who broke in would probably get a couple of days for the crime.
Now lets talk about the disease that these illegals have brought into the country, like TB is starting to break out again etc.
Yes while in Oakland Ca. I have learned to be very prejudiced against the Hispanic race. Like when I say one of them who jumped on the roof of a automobile of a 70 year old man and was swinging a knife at him through the open sun roof because the hispanic walked out in front of his car when he was going down the street, and the old man yelled "Hey idiot, what are you trying to do kill yourself" ok a little bit rude, but the punk was one of the local gangs there. The same gang that when I pulled into a 7/11 to buy cigerettes about 8 of them where in front of the store, they just started sitting on the hood of my new Ford truck (2 weeks old) when I asked them to remove their bodies from the hood of my truck they said no speakee the ingles. When I tried to remove one by force he pulled out a knife and said don't **** with me gringo, and jumped back on the hood of the truck. When I told them hey guys look I need to get to work they all laughed. Ok, I can take a hint, I entered the truck (thank god they didn't try to stop me) started up the engine rolled down the window and told them I was leaving get their little w*t b**k a**es off the truck or else, they laughed, I floored the engine in forward then slammed on the brakes then shifted it in reverse and slammed the trottle down, this caused the 3 sitting in the back to fall out of the bed, and the ones on the front to fall off, I believe I hit the two in the back when I shifted in reverse. I then drove up to the Oakland Police Dept. and reported the incident, they said they would look into it, but I never heard from them again. This was because Oakland police Dept. had to much going on, it usually took them from 1 to 3 hours to get to the scene of a crime, and they had to give priority to more serious events, usually gang shootings.
I vote that we get rid of immigration services since it is doing no good anyhow and just taking up taxpayers money for doing nothing by executive orders by our elected officials. That we get rid of passport services for the people who want to enter this country because they are coming in anyhow. Think of all the money we will save by not having these services. We don't need border patrol, they can't do anything anyway. Get rid of the border entrances, just open them up, after all that is what our elected officials want, and then we should all just quit paying taxes, since the illegals don't have to, why should we. Oh and lets not forget, don't work, they don't and they get free medical and support for their poor starving families.
This post will probably be closed, because this is reality, this is what I went thought with just Mexicans, my life was threatend 3 times by them, my guns where confiscated by the CHP, for protecting myself at a RV campsite because I caught a Mexican stealing my clothing from a dryer (1st meeting with them) when I kicked him in the butt when he had his head in the dryer and then pulled him out by his feet and asked him what he was doing and to put my clothes back, he came with about 30 of his buddies the next morning when I was getting out of my RV, they all had sticks, bats, pitch forks, knives etc. I went back in the RV pulled out my 44 mag and my 357 fired 6 shots with my 357 at a fence post quickly threw in another barrel, by this time they all ran. About 2 hours later a CHP came to the door and asked if I had fired a weapon I told him yes and why. He said he had to take my weapons and wrote me out a ticked for firing a gun within city limits. RV campground??? I asked him will you patrol and protect me without my weapons, he said no we can't afford to do that, I said what if them come back, he said "Buddy if I was you I would pull up stakes and get on down the road, because we can't protect you or do anything until a crime report is filed" I said what happens if they kill me? he said then we can come up and investigate.
OK, you are tired of hiding, but I say get rid of all the illegals, because like in Oakland, I was tired of living behind bars, and barbed wire, with razor wire in order to protect and keep out the bad people in Oakland. That was in 1987 -1993. You know it was funny but in 1972 I didn't see no bars or barbed wire or razor wire on the houses. We Americans could walk down the streets of Oakland and say "Hi, how are you today lovely weather isn't it" with out fear of these hispanic gangs, black gangs, asian gangs, Mexican gangs, latino gangs, white supremeist gangs, or skinheads.
To all the Mexicans that came into the country legally, WELCOME TO THE USA.
TO ALL AND I MEAN ALL WHO CAME HERE ILLEGALLY GO BACK TO WHERE YOU CAME FROM
To Barrack go back to Kenya, you have done all you can to ruin this country. Thank you.
Yes Hillary Satan has come to this country, and it is going to ruins. We have chased God out, with our greed, allowances of homosexuals, crooked politicians, and not enforcing our laws.
The people who are paying for this "THE AMERICAN TAXPAYER" are now tired, we can't give anymore, the free money to other people around the world has to stop. The support for illegals must go away, we can't afford it anymore.
To that WILK talk radio host, who comes on at 4pm. you really are a know nothing, go back to the comic section of a news paper. That is all you are good for.
Detroit James. The 10dollar apple or head of lettuce is a farce, a joke. it will never be just because the illegals would be deported.
Do you know there are very few things that there are not machines available that can do that job??? Do you???
Just why should they invest in them when they can hire cheap labor!!!
Plus if they send the illegals home then they can take all the lazy asses in Detroit sitting on generations of welfare and put them to work doing those jobs that come open!
I hauled lettuce out of Ca. in the early 90's. They were paying the field workers (mostly illegals) 8.75 then. I asked the farm owner how much a heead of lettuce would go up if he had to pay American workers 10.00 or 12.00 an hour to pick. He said about a dime a head at most!
So quit drinking the koolaide it is frying your brain.
The Dummycrats want the Hispanic votes, nothing more.
Amazing how so many want to make more out of this than it is! It is NOT a religious thing it is a LEGAL thing. Nothing more, nothing less. You break the law you pay the price. You come to our country illegally you get a free ride to the border to go back. Do not use up our federal and state dollars and time for you and your family to have health care, education, police protection, fire protection, and a job away from a citizen of our country.
All you "undocumented" citizens, you want to live here then come her under our laws! You can want to "share" your culture but remember........it is our culture that you need to learn, English is the language that is spoken, so learn it, we have all our signage on our roads written in English, learn to read it or don't drive in our country!
This is not your country! Your here illegally!!!! Go back home and enter OUR country legally!!!!!!!! This is what we get for electing OBAMA!!!!!!
And we're sick of of pin headed morons such as yourself blaming Obama for this problem. You have to be kidding - Yes, I'm sure no one is that stupid. But then I've been surprised before.
You're probably on public assistance yourself.
obama is a fcking idiot.and if you vote for him you are to.i bust my ass and watch illegals get a free ride.child colation even picks up their babies for free daycare and picks up the mothers to and then takes the mothers back home using the bus on out tax dollars,i would vomit on your face if you think this is ok
Actually he is to blame steve. guess you havent been paying attention to the news lately.... They are called illegals for a reason. In a sense, invaders if you will... Ya know what normally happens to invaders in any other country...yah exactly that..nuff said. these scrubs should be kissing ass not protesting anything.
I blame Janet Napolitano, head of Homeland Security, who was hand picked by Obama.Obama is as guilty of this influx of illegal immigrants as was Bill Clinton.Add the wealthy business owners, those Americans who want cheap labor in and around their homes and the farmers. There are many people who are to blame for this problem. However, since these people are blatantly thumbing their nose at our immigration laws I see no reason why they can't arrest anyone on that buss who is here illegally.
we have our own customs and culture here we dont need yours from mexico. GET THE F OUT OF MY COUNTRY.
but leave the food, thanks. mmmboy!
We don't need them to leave the food.. There are plenty of legal immigrants that can make it for us.. Besides, we have Taco Bell..
@ Uncle....What customs? What culture?
