Small plane crashes on Long Island, one killed

Authorities say a small plane has plummeted into a residential neighborhood on New York's Long Island in a fiery crash, and one of the three people aboard has died.

Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen says the aircraft hit the ground shortly before noon Sunday near a residential area in Shirley, about a mile north of Brookhaven Calabro Airport.

Suffolk County police say one person has died, and two others have been taken to Stony Brook University Medical Center with burns.

Their conditions aren't immediately available. The names of the people in the plane haven't been released, and it's not immediately clear whether the pilot is among the injured.

The FAA had no immediate information on the plane.

Witnesses say neighbors tried to douse the flames with fire extinguishers and garden hoses.

Pedro - another wonderful Occupy Wall Street liberal (careful what you say, mouth breather - Karma is a nasty thing to bite you back).

But you have to understand that these Occutards like "Pedro" sit back silently while the likes of Hollywood millionaire liberals like Madonna fly around the globe on THEIR private planes. As if this small aircraft was a $20 million private jet or something. More than likely it was a sub-$100k private propeller driven aircraft that cost no more than my neighbor's little 32-foot Class C RV.

But why let facts and reality like that upset a good bed wetting by OWS liberals like Pedro?

Jim now just remember 1 out of 4 people died in that crash that's still 25% of the people on the plane. How would you like those odes if you where on a plane?

And I bet if you asked people the same thing they would agree with me. 90 out of 100.

I guess from my point of view that if it really plummeted, all would have been killed. It is sad that anyone died, but then again, how many died in automobile accidents that aren't major news?

For all of you conspiracy theorists out there just remember the US coast guard escorted a guided missle frigate to port that lost it's electrical power only an hour after TWA 800 crashed. Interesting how that was never made public until about a year ago

At least it took out a 1%er. The only sad part is it didn't take out more.
