I watched this movie back in the early 90s on a VHS tape while my buddy's parents were out of town.

And it was AWESOME.

It's not just the youth. My ex-neighbor was in his late 40's and liked to have parties that involved everybody eventually getting naked. We didn't really care what he did inside his own house but the problem was he had a hot tub and his parties tended to go on outdoors, right underneath our daughters bedroom window. And you can guess how they generally ended up degenerating. Had to call the police a whole number of times even after trying to explain directly to him how it just wasn't acceptable. Eventually he got pissed off enough to up and move, after the police finally turned up in time to see some of the shenanigans and warned him he'd be arrested.

Oh, and he was a libertarian. He thought he was free to do what he liked, without recourse. This isn't necessarily something that is tied to a certain political persuasion.

The Duval county school district (Jacksonville, FL.) teacher of the year last year, a Mr. Bacca, is currently incarcerated and awaiting trial on child molestation charges (a child aged 12 or younger). He was caught doing something "improper" at one school and some genius transferred him to another school in the district where he was eventually caught again and was (thankfully) arrested and jailed. I really think that castration (NOT the pharmaceutical method but actually removing the penis) is the strongest deterrent for these types of crimes. I don't believe that there is a man in his right mind that would want that to happen to him. For women who are chid molesters, the punisment should be the female equivalent to castration. I've read that it is a very painful procedure. Then after these procedures are performed, lock up the offenders and throw the key away. This won't stop these scum, not at first. But eventually as their kind are caught, tried and convicted in the courts, they will either get the message or be locked up for life, sans some pretty important and useful parts of their anatomy. What's it going to take in order to prevent children from being molested, raped and/or murdered? Clearly, this does not seem to be a priority for the country. What does that say about us that we are not willing to go to the wall for children?

Sandie-644591: If you really think these people believe what they are doing is right, you don't understand the abusive psyche (and I can't say as I blame you).

Having been an abuse victim I went through tons of counseling and there are several studies that point to the fact that these people know that doing this is wrong in the first place. They know that if they get caught they will face life in prison. They know all this stuff but the impulse is simply too great for them to resist.

Now, understand, I'm not providing excuses for them. If they know it's wrong then they know they need to find an acceptable outlet. There's no excuse for this type of behavior. But taking measures like castration is just wasted effort. It's much more productive to teach kids that anything like this needs to be reported. Most importantly, we need to teach kids that you will listen if/when they come to you.

There are kids in my sons school that know I will listen and respect them if they talk to me. I don't care if it's my child, I will follow-up on anything I hear. My only hope is that if a possible molester knows that no matter what happens I will listen and follow-up on what the kids say, they will think twice about pushing the limits of decency around me.

It is bad judgement on the coach ( and a cheer coach is not necessarily a teacher) to allow that to happen. Is she old enough that she had a daughter in it? Teen girls do some wild things when they get away from parents and if they are around lenient adults. If this would have been a mix of girls and boys then be concerned. Mostly what happen at that little party is what they see of each other in gym class. Sometimes things get so blown out. Are the ones of u complaining the ones that never got in on anything like that and are jealous? Sorry, but alarms would go off in my head if any of my children's teachers or coaches had sleepovers with students. Whatever the gender. There's no reason for it, and it's inappropriate and enormously unprofessional. In all my years of school and athletic activities, I've never had a 'sleepover' with any teacher or coach. And it would be a loud NO to any request from my children's 'mentors'.

I agree, there is no reason for a coach to have social interaction with their team off of the field. The closest would be a meal at a public event. For example, my daughter plays field hockey and they are having a 2 1/2 hour bar b que...no big deal. I tell my kids that if a coach wants to spend time with you alone, that is not appropriate. This is bizarre and indicative of a problem that makes this coach dangerous. Glad to hear that a freshman had the courage to speak up.

I disagree. There are many instances in which a teacher, coach or other adult would have sleep-overs with kids. Camp-outs and sleep-overs are a great bonding experience. It's a tradition at our elementary school that the fifth grade glass goes to an overnight camp once a year as a tradition. Teachers stay with the kids in the cabins. It was an opportunity for an outdoor learning experience and gives kids a chance to learn things they may not learn from parents. Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts have overnight camps routinely. My kids' Montessori class had a tradition of spending one night at the director's house.

There are many good things that come from overnighters. A few bad adults, or adults who make bad judgement calls should not ruin it for everyone else. Some of my children's most life-changing events have been the summer camp experience - they became more independent, more self-assured, and gained friends for life.

Uh, I NEVER had "overnight events" with teachers or coaches during my time at school for anything and I was in sports and clubs. NEVER!!

A sexual act between to people of the same gender is still a homosexual act even if the people involved don't consider it to be such. How do u know the coach is hetrosexual? Is she married and her husband out of town, or maybe he was in the closet peeking. Is she single? What is her age? Was this "game" thought of by the girls or suggested by the coach? Lots of unanswered questions. True there is a lack of judgement by the coach, but this is a group and it is hazing to an extent. Maybe one or even two of the younger girls may have been humiliated, but I would bet the bank that most just thought of it as a fun game. As for "her inspection" you are assuming she started the game. Sounds like this was a "hazing" started years before, this coach just allowed it to be carried on, which was her bad judgement. And to press a point, just because she is a cheer coach, doesn't mean she is on the faculty of the school. That is not a requirement. Depending on her age, maybe she has a daughter that is a cheerleader and she took the squad as coach. The story left out many points, such as is she a member of the faculty, is she married or single, did she have a daughter on the squad or coming up? Some parents and non parents also allow things that they deem minor to happen to be "buddies" with teens, to show they aren't old fuddyduddies. Not defending her actions but a lapse in judgement might get her in trouble.

I never would have let my daughter do this to begin with: Stay overnight at a teacher or coach's house on an "overnight" as to me, this is just freaking WEIRD policy all around and I was an athlete in school myself. We never did things like that in school-EVER during the whole time I was in school in sports so I sure would not allow MY kids to do that either and I don't care who is there or "whose parent's says it OK". When they ask me something, I tell it like it is and don't BS, not matter what the subject matter and they get the facts from where babies come from to what RAPE is and my oldest daughter knew what sex was at the tender age of SIX. She asked me because she was a friend's house and the friend said something about it to HER so I got put on the spot, shockingly enough.
Yup, kids DO find out, even then so what do you do? You can BS or you can do your diuty as a parent and try and tell the truth as simnply as possible to a six year old which I did. Knowledge is power. My kids HAVE it. They're the better for it so if dirty skanks like THIS one DO try to do to come to them, they'll KNOW what to do and NOT be taken advantage of because I have told them already what to do if a person makes them feel uncomfortable or tries to have do anything inappropriate and that INCLUDES people that they KNOW, especially people they know, to get way from that person and to tell me or someone else asap.

That scum bucket will never have the chance to touch my child AGAIN or anyone else's!!!

I agree, that's out of line. It's hard to believe anyone could be so stupid and naive, that she didn't have some kind of interest or agenda to go further eventually.

There is something creepy,weird,and just plain un-ethical about a coach wanting to have sleep overs with the cheerleader squad. Me thinks there's more to the story than meets the eye...

as a parent, the red flags would have gone off,if my daughter had said... "coach wants us to have a sleep over at her place.She's promised "not to look", and tells us it'll be a wonderful "bonding experience".

Yeah....riiiiight..

it's no wonder the police are investigating her.
