Casey Anthony off probation; lawyer fears for her safety

In this file photo from July 7, 2011, Casey Anthony is pictured before the start of her sentencing hearing.

Casey Anthony, the Florida mother found not guilty in the murder of her 2-year-old daughter, completed her probation for unrelated check-fraud charges on Friday.

Anthony, 26, was acquitted in the highly publicized case last year, after spending three years in jail awaiting trial on a murder charge. Her daughter, Caylee Marie Anthony, disappeared in 2008, and months later, authorities found the 2-year-old's body in the woods near the Orlando-area Anthony family home.

Anthony was ordered one-year probation for a check fraud charge, after she pleaded guilty to making purchases using a friend's checks.

The public closely watched the murder trial through the eyes of televisions cameras and faced much public scrutiny. According to Reuters, the judge let Anthony serve her probation at a secret location.

A Florida Department of Corrections spokeswoman told Reuters that Anthony didn't commit any violations that would have prolonged the one-year term.

Her probation officially ended at 12:01 a.m. Friday morning, according to her civil-defense lawyer Charles Greene. Now that she's free, no one knows Anthony's next plan, but Greene told the Orlando Sentinel on Wednesday that he has "sincere concerns as to her safety."

"Her future plans are the subject of serious deliberation and discussion," Greene said.

The Orlando lawyer is also not sure how Anthony will support herself.

"She is looking forward to being free to move about and make decisions for her life," Greene told Reuters. "I think she just wants to live out of the public eye and live as normal a life as she can, which will be a difficult thing to do because she's been so vilified."

Anthony's legal woes are not over. She still faces lawsuits related to Caylee's death, Reuters reported, including a defamation case.

So we should feel sorry for a child murderer? I hope there is some street justice for this heartless person.

And worry she should. One reaps what they sew. Crazy people don't mind killing another person but sure cry when their facing a death sentence, which she should have. Knowing society for the way it is I believe someone out there is waiting for her to hit the streets... in more places then one. Not that I'd regret seeing her dead. So sad, to bad, not. M

Maybe she should have thought of that before she callously murdered kid and then tried to blame her family for it. Stupid cow gets whatever is coming her way.

she will probably find a way to make some quick cash via movie rights, book deal or photos and flee the country where no one knows her to live a cushy life.

Since she was convicted of lying and hindering an investigation, I don't believe she is allowed to profit from her crimes. She also has a LOT (hopefully) of restitution to pay for the search and rescue/recovery efforts put into Caylee's case. O.J's book money is going straight to the Goldman family. And :-) look where HE is TODAY! Sadly, sometimes, justice delayed is justice denied.

May this pathetic excuse for a human live a long life filled with much suffering, pain, agony and illness for taking the life of her child. May she find out what hell is like here on this earth.

And this is supposed to make us feel sorry for her. Not happening. I feel sorry for Caylee only.

Casey deserves every bit of trouble this world can give her.

I pray she never has a happy day in her life. Too bad George was such a hen-pecked husband. It would have been great to see him file a wrongful death suit against Casey for his granddaughter. Lawyers have said he definitely could have done that. Wouldn't that have been great? So that EVERY nickel she might make in the future would go to George or a fund he could have set up??? Well, if word gets around that the Anthonys have moved, I'm sure someone like TMZ will find out where and that will be where you will find the murderer!

It's great to read all the comments from all thoes whom cast judgment as though they are the judge, you all have no idea what really happened ! maybe GOD is judgeing her now or already has ? but I would suspect he will also be judgeing your comments and feelings you voice so freely! ? just a thought, some thing about glass houses and casting the first stone!

Last I heard, they don't have a Murderer Protection Program. Her story had more holes than swiss cheese and how she conned the jury is anyones' guess. She does, however, have the Eternal Judge to face, and nothing gets by Him! God will forgive her if she repents, which was why Jesus died on the cross, however, in the court of public opinion, not many else will. She's a cancer on society.

Having probable psychopathy and personality disorder, (Even if this were an accident, how she carried on!). We can only pray for her everlasting soul. Little Caylee is definitely in a much better place now. Casey will be looking over her shoulder for the rest of her life. No ones' forgotten O.J. and no one will forget Casey. All we can do is just try and be forgiving, not cast stones and live a life in keeping with The Golden Rule. Albeit, it's TESTED daily with child abusers/murders. She may not be tried again, but should new evidence come in, perhaps her parents can still be tried as acceessories after the fact.

She may have fooled the jury on earth, but she still faces her Eternal Judge, and nothing gets by Him! She may not be able to be re-tried here, but her parents are still accessories after the fact should new evidence arise.

For now, all we can do is pray for her repentance, stop throwing stones and try to live as Jesus wants us to. Casey will be looking over her shoulder the rest of her life. Yes, her actions were heinous, yes, she carried on while her child lay dead...somewhere, but if we continue to judge and hate, God will have no more of His mercy for us than He will for Casey. Caylee is in a wonderful place now and that is what helps me sleep at night.
