How about the young man in Minnesota that escaped from a gunman in a red roof inn and was gunned down when cops pumped 15 rounds into him. More innocent people are killed by cops everyday. How would it have helped in this case even if some of the teenagers at the party had been armed? If there were going to be a general confiscation of legal firearms it would require a huge expansion of ATF or the creation of a brand new government agency to take in all those firearms, appraise them, dispose of them and pay the owners. People text and drive because they feel the chances of an accident happening to them are low. How often do you see people running into a police station and open fire? Actually.. 85% of all persons shot in this country are in the commission of a felony and the person doing the shooting is 95%, of the time, are in the commission of a felony (shooting exempted). 87% of both shooters and those shot are convicted felons. Want to reduce your likelihood of getting shot? your almost 5.6 times more likely to be shot being a felon. The latest figures have ~9,400 of the ~11,000 people dead of homicide by firearm being convicted felons. I don't know about you but I could care less about murders and rapists and drug dealers getting killed. ~1,700 non-(CONVICTED)felons get killed every year by firearms. That is amazingly low. If you're not a felon your chances of being killed by firearms is .00053%! Think about this.. ~1,500 people hit the lottery every year. That's .00048%. Now you know why people that have brains understand that this isn't a real issue. Sure no one wants to see innocent people die but in reality we all understand that typically only those that are up to no good are being killed. No one thinks people in a movie theater should be shot, nor even those that are felons but the problem is very small and they also understand that between 1 to 3 million crimes are frustrated (ended) by the victim having a firearm (.32258% to almost 1% of the population every year uses a firearm to stop themselves from being victims of crime!) You can safely bet money the gun lobby isn't going to publish anything on it. They were buried just this week in New Jersey. Working the overnight shift at a Pathmark supermarket, they were shot dead by a psychotic fellow employee wielding an AK-47 (civilianized). The shooter then shot himself to death with a handgun he was carrying.

That man had been discharged from the Marine Corps., apparently for "medical" reasons. All the same, he was able to get his hands on a lot of lethal firepower including an assault weapon which would have outgunned the police had they arrived and any store employee or security guard who happened to be "packing".

I'm very disappointed that i wasn't invited. I would've brought a grenade launcher to the party. Now thats a gun. Instead of taking out one or two people, the grenade launcher can take out the entire block.
