Subscribe to RSSA 34-year-old Florida woman apparently killed her two children in their house and then committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said Saturday.
Deputies responded to a house in unincorporated Clearwater, west of Tampa, shortly after 2 a.m. after receiving a call for help. They discovered Dawn Brown and her two children, ages 5 and 9, dead in the house.
It’s believed that Brown killed her two children and then hanged herself with an electrical cord from a bedroom ceiling fan, the sheriff’s office said.
No details were revealed on how the children were killed. Their cause of death will be released after an autopsy, the sheriff’s office said.
Authorities did not give a possible motive for the killings.

Anyone else getting effing tired of parents killing their kids? Raise your hands.
Im tired of Anyone killing anyone else, not just parents killing their children. Totally insane. Who knows, the next great Einstein could have just been murdered and now the world will have to wait another 200 years for warp drive.
My larger point is that when we murder others, we may be murdering mankind later, because these people could go on to cure sickness, invent new ground breaking things, or become great leaders.
Get governments out of families homes. Whe do government agencies tell parents they can't discipline they're own kids? Because the ACLU says the kids have every right to porn and parents will be put in jail for trying to correct their kids from making those mistakes. Debauchery and lasciviousness are on their feet of "clay and iron" and are going to be destroyed by God Almighty. Sorry, they can't arrest God, but God will destroy the nation of clay and iron as His word says. No where to run, no where to hide, God is going to accomplish what He says will happen, unless, nations repent, but you know that won't happen cause they lose their source of income. Nah, I'm really tired of taking care of other peoples' kids. I didn't have the little brats, why should I support them? Every death of a welfare parent is a national victory. If they take their kids with them, it's sad, but good for future generations as a whole, nonetheless.
Maybe she was just ****ed in the head. People should have to pass some type of mental exam to be allowed to have kids or face sterilization.
People can go crazy after having kids. Also, forced sterilization is now illegal because of Eugenics abuses starting in the 1920s through to the 1960s. Many people labeled "stupid" or undesirable where sterilized during that time and many of them where simply poor.
OFC, we all know poor is also a potentially curable problem. So, yeah, probably not a good idea to go back to this.
Why can't people kill themselves instead of their children? This whole practice of women killing their children totally dumbfounds me!
PS... I would like to know who the contractors was for the ceiling fan. Never seen a mounting that would hold the weight of the fan itself and a full grown human body.
The ceilings in the house had to be really high. I have ceiling fans, and there is not enough room to hang yourself from it. The cord would have to be small, even if you were 5'. In most houses the ceilings are either 8' or 9'. Ceiling fans drop down at least 9" to a foot from the ceiling. There would not be enough clearance to hang yourself. And on top of that most ceiling fans are bottom heavy. The ceiling fan would had fell out of the ceiling before the victim was choked. Maybe the ceiling fan was turned on and the spinning blades wrapped the cord up like a top. But someone who with a good education in physics or science would be the ones to know this. Or someone working in mechanical construction.
they might want to look a bit closer....might be a boyfriend/husband that did it and MADE it "look" like she did it. how many times on the news do we here of the husbands killing the kids then the ex-wife or girlfriend.
It is amazing how many people want it to be someone else, or a man. This could be just as easily a case where the woman was vindictive and used the kids against the man. Then, when it was clear that she was not going to be able to keep a perfectly good father away, she took their lives.
There is simply not enough information in the story to know one way or the other but it is telling that people seem to have a hard time with the idea that the man is not always the problem.

Are you suggesting that moms never hold children over the fathers head by pretentious legal means? Are you suggesting that a man must always be the problem why Moms kill their kids and then themselves?

Then again, I have mentioned many times that we do not have enough information from this story to know what really happened. Still, I will always point out when I think men are getting called out for no reason, and fix it man's post was eluding to the fact that a man must be the reason, even though, as far as we know, the woman took the lives of her children and herself on her own, with no apparent reason.
It could be a murder set up to look like murder-suicide.
And at least when the women do murder it is murder-suicide. As opposed to the guys that just murder their families then save themselves.
I don't get this. Who called for help? Praying for the grandparents of the children who died and for this woman's other family members.

If indeed this woman as many women and men in the U.S. have mental problems who kill their children, I so much in the U.S? I do not think I hear much of this type of thing occuring in Japan, Sweden, Switzerland, Germany, Singapore or anyother first world country. Why the U.S?
It's sad that we live in a country where mental health stills carry a negative stigma, but worse than that it's very expensive, hard to get and families have no control over loved ones even when they know that person could be a danger. Committing someone to an institution takes almost an Act of Congress. Had the move theater shooter and the Va. Tech shooter both been institutionalized by the families who saw them mentally breaking down, a lot of people would be alive today. Thanks to Ronald Reagan, families no longer have that option.
The U.S. ranks very low in mental health care. Is it any wonder we have such a high number of suicides, homicides, mass killings and other tragedies?
