Most of the factories in Detroit closed because of liberal policies regulating their every move. The EPA, IRS, and even the DOT threw so many taxes, fines, regulations, and restrictions at them that they had to move out to keep the companies profitable. Would you keep your lemonade stand on a corner for $5 profit a week when you could go down the street and make $25 profit a week?

It's important because some of the deepest cuts were to the police department. This is just going to cost the city, and the tax payers more money for all the lawyers that will have to hired for the eventual law suit. Then there is the cost of finding another police chief.
