A Parker County, Texas, teen has been arrested on suspicion of double murder after he called 911 and said he shot and killed his mother and sister.

According to police, 17-year-old Jake Evans called 911 at about 12:30 a.m. Thursday and said he'd used a .22 revolver to shoot and kill both his 48-year-old mother, Jamie Evans, and his 15-year-old sister, Mallory.

"It just kind of happened," Evans told the 911 operator in an eerily calm voice. "I've been kind of, uh, planning on killing for a while now."

When asked if he meant the two of them or just anybody, Evans responded: "Pretty much anybody."

A short time later, Parker County sheriff's deputies arrived at the Evans' family home in Annetta, a town of about 1,700 west of Fort Worth, and took him into custody without incident.

"I guess this is really selfish to say but, to me, I felt like they were just suffocating me in a way. I don't know," Evans said during the 911 call.

"Obviously, I am pretty, I guess, evil," he said.

Evans is charged with capital murder. A judge denied him bond.

"Just to let you know, I hate the feeling of killing someone, you know," Evans said in the 911 call. "I'm going to be messed up."

The teen's father was out of town on business when the killings took place, police said. NBC 5 has been told that the father raced home from Washington, D.C.

Leslie Richardson, a family friend, described Evans as quiet and gentle.

"Everybody knew him as just being the quiet kid ... but he was really sweet and gentle," she said.

NBC 5 has learned that Evans' mother was a teacher and assistant principal in the Aledo Independent School District for 15 years before leaving in 2004.

"I mean, she was kind of like a second mom," Richardson said. "They were just a really good family and, I mean, my whole family was close to them, so I wish I could just say that I love them."

Friends described Mallory Evans as pretty and sweet.

She and her brother previously had been students in the Aledo ISD but were home-schooled.

The family has two other daughters who were not home at the time of the killings. One of the daughters was scheduled to come home from college this weekend for a visit.

Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler said authorities believe Evans acted alone and that there is no evidence implicating any additional suspects.

The double homicide is being investigated by the Texas Rangers and Parker County Sheriff's Criminal Investigation Division.

Aledo ISD released this statement Thursday afternoon:

Aledo ISD is deeply saddened to learn of the death of a former employee and a former student.

Jami Evans was a dedicated elementary teacher and assistant principal who worked in Aledo ISD for 15 years serving students at both Coder and Stuard Elementary from 1989 through 2004. Her dedication to her students and her love of learning was an inspiration to all who knew her.

We also mourn the death of Mallory Evans, a former elementary and intermediate school student. Mallory attended Stuard Elementary and McAnally Intermediate School. She was a sweet child that will be missed by her friends and school family.

The suspect in the shootings, Jacob Evans, is a former Aledo High School student who withdrew from school in January 2012 to be homeschooled. He attended Aledo schools from elementary school until his withdrawal in January. He played football in middle school and played on the golf team in high school.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Evans family in this difficult time.

For all those Americans arming themselves to the teeth because they think a Harvard-educated, half-black father of two kids will take away their guns, consider this. In ten year's time, how many of those guns will be used to commit suicide or to kill loved ones or innocent strangers?

It is the kids own fault, but it was most certainly influenced by the pathological narcissistic amorality of the "progressive" liberal left that is brainwashing our youth and promoting mental illness...

I have read studies that are being systematically repressed, that suggest teen boys who snap like this, do so after experimenting with homosexuality, and even say they did because the media and the culture promote it so much (you know that old harmless "dont knock it till you tried it" sort of thinking...). But then after they are so stigmatized and traumatized by the guilt and shame of their perversion, they start to decend into nihilism as a repreive from the shame...but it only degenerates from there. It is suggested the Columbine kids were experimenting with homosexuality with each other too before they went on their shooting spree. Not just take away morality, but villify morality culturally, and this is what you get. "Lord of the Flies" with guns. But the saddest people are the ones who think outlawing guns is the solution...sad sad stupid people...

I reckon his mother and sister didn't like being killed.

Lock him up. Throw away the key.

Judge: "How do you plea?" Evans: "Guilty. Judge: Fine. I sentence you to death. Your appeal is automatic (why, if he pleaded guilty?). You have 30 days. Whereupon, the sentence will be carried out." This could all happen before Thanksgiving. Justice should be swift. Mentally ill? OK. One less.

This is a young life with a lot of problems... He's not evil, he did evil, but the man knows what he did is wrong that he is a mess. This killing is very sad, senseless, but the young man is a wreck, seems even before this happened he was.

All of you making light of this, perhaps you need to taste the sting of pain as this man has, as his family has... You're just as inhuman as him, perhaps more so, I would hope many of you know how wrong this is, yet you still laugh... Shame on you all!

Was there any history of abuse of animals? Sometimes people say "It was only a dog or a cat or a rabbit, etc.", but that is often a huge red flag that it will escalate on to humans.

I'm getting the impression that more family members get killed than actual criminals when you have a gun in the family....

Even the most trained families with cops, there are already 2 or 3 stories over summer where the cop's kid shot himself DEAD...

I say let's replace guns with spears or axes...wouldn't that be a better substitute? You still protect your family. You still can do hunting. Same minimal training (or lack of)...

Let there be a NSA - National Spear Association to promote home ownership of spears...

For all of you anti-gun, pro gun controls, are you also pro alchohol controls? Roughly 25,000 die each year due to alcohol related accidents. Also roughly 30,000 are killed with guns. Out of the 30,000 killed with guns about 12,000 are suicide. So 7,000 less people are killed by guns than with alcohol. I am pretty sure you will not stand on your soap box and say that alcohol should have more laws too would you?

I believe in family...but only in healthy family that has the right parenting skills and resources. In many countries this "family obsession" and "excessive family loyalty" drives some to do desperate things in "anger, rage and a feeling of being stuck (especially when you are young and dependent)" in stead of having ways to leave, find better support outside and finding the right counselors or therapists.

We have far too many people having children young, and many are not fit to be decent human beings let alone decent citizens...let alone decent parents.

We also have parents struggling with kids who are screwed up by drugs, alcohol, bad peer influence, violent movies and video games that celebrate brutality or killing as a solution for everything...with easy access to guns.

I think we feminsts have talked enough about controlling fathers...but not enough about controlling mothers. I see this a lot among some Asian, Jewish and other communities in Southern California. Some are good mothers who are assertive and pro-active, but some are hyper, bossy and neurotic in ways that raise unhappy, low self-esteem, repressed, supressed, angry boys or boy-men. This needs to be openly talked about.

As many women try to get out of the patriarchy of their own history, culture and life...their interactions with their children can be unhealthy, contradictory and full of unresolved feelings and anger. They are raising boys who end up aggressive or weak, or guys who commit financial crimes in the name of "taking care of family or mummy". Very strange attitudes in the name of family loyalty.

I had parents who expected us to be independent as well as objective on matters that concern family and community issues. My father would say, "If anyone in the family is doing anything that is criminal or unethical you confront them, talk to us abou it and then report it to the police. It does not matter whether it is personal or not. If they are indulging in corruption you don't tolerate it or okay it because they are family! Family should come first but not when it comes to higher standards of ethics and integrity that should be universal and consistent!" I am proud of such upbringing.

US is going in a thousand different directions that all seem toxic. Idiots in other cultures learn the wort of America and Americans seem to learn the worst from other cultures. Long long way to go!

Obviously there is a mental problem, but he needs to be put away until he passes away! We need to know far more than we do about demons! They are REAL!!

When I was younger, I'm retired now, we never had as many teens so mentally challenged as we do today. Whether it is in the water they drink or parenting using Dr. Spock as a reference, God only knows, but we seem to have a greater number needing serious help. Mind altering depression medications are not necessarily the answer.

We all know how successful that is. just look at Adam Lanza or the messed up kid that shot Gabriel Gifford. Guns are not to blame, lack of proper parenting certainly is a factor. The heavy reliance on medication to cure all our mental ills is another. Our society is different today. there are more and more single parent homes, more with both parents away working, and this leeds to children left alone when they should have at least one parent always there for them. A heavy diet od snack foods loaded witrh sodea pop and junk food does not help either.

Certainly something needs to be done anbout guns but restricting them is not the answer. You need to take writen and practical tests to drive a motor vehicle and yet any redneck can waltz into a gun show and buy a weapon. No testing necessary. Do you see something wrong with this picture?

Movies cannot be blamed, although there are many with questionable content that require better rating scrutiny. No, it all boils down to parenting and nurturing the needs of your children.

Beware of anyone showing up offering to help and states, I'm from the government. They are not thorough, they operate with one thing in mind - political ramifications that affect their career, and miscalculate what the solution to the problem really is.
